Bellevue Apartments - Alcudia - Majorca

First Things First:
After reading constent reviews for the hotel i really thought id give it a miss but in the end i changed my mind. From my opionon.

For starters we stayed in medera block 5th floor. When we arrived reception was abit busy but for a big complex what do you expect however we were seen within five minuits. You are given a map of the complex which is easy and simple to follow. Our room was spotless and all the view's are of good standard. Spair blankets and sheets are avaible and each room evan offer cups/plates saucepans ect. We thought we'd go self catering as we wanted to try bars and restaurants (Big mistake as it can be rather pricey). On day trips all inclusive/other board basis are given a packlunch.

The location of the hotel is far better then a lot of them out there. You are buy the river which is beautifull also you are only 5 - 10 mins walk from the beach. There are 8 Swimming pools in totel they're are also go-Karts/Tennis courts/Live Free Entertainment Every Night/Spa Shops Around Sight And Plenty of poolside bars. The complex is beautifull.

Air con / Other Items are avaible to rent from reception for hardly any euros.

For a 3* rated Hotel people should not go expecting Gold. Id recomend to any couple/Family wanting to expeciance a pleasent Stay

Pegasus World Club Hotel - Side - Turkey

this was our first time in turkey, we choose this hotel because of the feedbacks. before we left the uk i asked for a quiet room with possible a sea view. on arrival we were given a ground floor by the door to the block. not quiet at all. however; without asking; two days later we were moved to the top floor with sea views; and was told on arival there were no rooms availeable. hows that for service.
the rooms are spacious and clean and have a mini fridge.
we found the food plentiful choice ;with show foods cooked before you. never a problem getting drinks as there are plenty of bars and soft drink stations located around the pool. there are also wine vats located all around the hotel to help yourself.
the pool is massive; and everyone loved it. set your clock if you want a sun bed. all gone by 7.30.
the beech is 20yards walk which has free sun beds and drinks!!!!!!!!
the only down side was the entertainment. very poor and finished by 11.
would highley recommend this hotel for families.
we found the tukish people friendly.

Central Krabi Bay Resort - Krabi - Thailand

we transferred here after a stay in phuket..and the first thing that struck me was the total beauty of the place. We transferred there by boat and were awestruck by our room. We had 2 double beds, this walk in bathroom to die for, a seperate toilet, a balcony and this sperate annexe where there was another balcony with a settee and a table n chairs. Totally awesome and you could see why it was a 5 star hotel.
Thing is..it wasn't really for us..we had no idea what we were expecting as we had ended up there at the death after our other holiday had been cancelled on us by the tour operator..and we left everything up to Thomas Cook to sort summat new. We just said we wanted 2 weeks in Thailand instead.
We arrived there quite late in the day and so had not booked a longboat round to the mainland 9 we didn't know about it!) and had no idea about the walk over the mountains..so we felt like we were at Alcatraz!!!
It was incredibly pricey..£8 per pint and £4 for a shot of vodka..so you would need to either sell your chhildren for a really good session on the drink or stay sober! There were plenty of different bars/restuarants..but choices were limited and again very pricey. £6 for a plate of chips. We are not tight by any means..but we felt they were taking the mess knowing they had you trapped on the island.
The next day was a little better..but we visited the dive school and again were upset at how extortionate the prices were..again they knew they had you. first chanced we got, we went off and round into the main part of Ao Nang. prices much cheaperand the walk over the mountain is not too difficult..although they have never heard of health and safety..there are loads of board missing from the rickety steps and there is only a rope to grab hold of rather than a proper rail.
I think what they want at this hotel is for you to lie on a sunbed all day, use their restuarant at night and then go to bed. there is little in the way of activity and there is not even a supermarket on site.
The best thing we did was hire a kayak and paddle off the resort. There are many James Bond type islands dotted around and it is easy to paddle around the corner to some very quiet and very lovely bars to have a quiet drink in. We only stayed there for 4 days..and to be honest, although the scenery was breathtaking..it would not be enough to make me want to stay there again. it was just too quiet for me..and way way way to expensive. the staff are as helpful as they can be..but its extreme location means the staff live there and thier english is not so good. there are many germans there. Not a problem..but there is not much of a social scene going on as there is nothing to bring people together. As we left, we got talking to a couple from down south who had been on their honeymoon..they were oliterally chased down the pier by staff saying they had not paid thier room bar bill. they were really upset and they insisted that they had touched nothing. the bar bill was £20 for one bag of peanuts!!! That is why me and Rob were so careful not to touch anything. mars bar..£3...Bottle of water..small £2. maltesers £4 and so on...that is extortionate...as an romantic hideaway is is ideal..but if you crave anything other than that..this not the place to go..as nice as it was facilities and standard wise.

Myramar Castle Beach Apartments - Fuengirola - Costa Del Sol

Just got back from this wonderful hotel, this is the second time we have been and found it very enjoyable both times. We found that during the day and night there was plenty to do. The entertainment staff (Bas. Tim and Marta) were amazing, couldn't have asked for better. Lidl is just down the road and we got our shopping from here, great for s/c. Apartments are plenty big enough for 4. Maids came every day, clean towels and bed made every day! Plenty of activities for the children and adults during the day with a mini disco on a night with a show following. The staff were very friendly, spoke really good English. There are 6 computers if you need to check your e-mails, most of the day they were free. I enjoyed every minute of my holiday here. We have been twice now and hoping to go again next year.

the hotel was cleaned every two days clean towels bedding etc. i wouldnt rate this hotel a 4 star we stayed in room 211 we got 2 single beds which is no good for a couple and the people above was partying till five oclock in the morning they might be on holiday but you should have some consideration for the people staying at the hotel aswell good job we didnt bring the child. we complained and arranged to move rooms we got moved to a different room it was a double bed which was better for us but again alls you could ear was noise all night from the people above scraping there chairs across the wooden floor we had to put tissue in our ears to get asleep you could ear people next door to us goin to the toilet you could ear a pin drop you would expect alot more from a 4 star appartment.

Victoria Palace Hotel - Sunny Beach - Bulgaria

beautiful hotel very grand but can honestly say i have never known such a sham of a dining experience in my life to say this was 5 star i have had better experiences in a 2 star. basically the resturant can not cope with the amount of guests. we had to literally fight for a table, on occassions the food ran out no cups/bowls ect for us to use at times. the temperature of the room was very hot. there was also the cost of the drinks which were very overpriced. Bulgaria it self is very up and coming but feel that they do little to encourage tourists to return some were very rude and arogant, not nice but if you like lots of hustle and bustle perfect.

Bonaire Aparthotel - Cala Bona - Majorca

We stayed here for 11 nights and overall enjoyed it. The apartments although dated were clean with no bugs or ants and they were quite spacious with a good sized bedroom with double wardrobe and a quite large living area with sofa beds and a very small kitchenette which suited us because i dont cook so we only used the fridge, there was a second large wardrobe in the hallway for the childrens clothes and an adequate bathroom with perhaps the nicest towels i have had on holiday, they were thick and fluffy and i had to resist the urge to bring some home....The balcony overlooking the pool was a good size with a nice table and wicker chairs and it had a clothes drier on the wall.I emailed the hotel to request a top floor apartment in block 5 and this is what we got. This block is furthest away from the noise and on one side you can get a sea view. i cannot comment on the food because we didnt go in the restaurant but the lunchtime food from the pool bar was nic eif not a lot of choice. Now the sunbed situation, this was what i was dreading because the last few years we have stayed at a hotel with reserved sunbeds so i have never had to get up early and i was amazed at the number of people reserving sunbeds at 5.30am, in fact by 9am they were all gone, the first few days we did our own thing, got up late and had to sit on the grass but then i realised that the hotel had 3 very busy going home days(tues, thurs and sat) so on these days you could get beds more or less until lunchtime and on the busy days we went out and about. The Thomson entertainment team are fab and if you like activities all day long then you will love it here although it wasnt our cup of tea, our children are older and just hung out with friends they had made and we just sunbathed and watched everyone else. The majority of people here have small children as they are very well taken care of and the evening entertainment was always well attended, although we went out every night people who we had met said the evening shows were good. The location was fine, a five minute walk to the harbour and the road in front of the hotel is not that busy. If our children were smaller we would definately return but as it is we prefer a quieter hotel with not so many children.

Sa Marina Aparthotel - Cala d or - Majorca

Sa Marina, (aparthotel)

Plus points: Lived up to its name and stars.

Large aparthotel complex in a nice location at the back of Cala D’Or resort, near to the large supermarket, but only 5 mins walk away from the main shopping and restaurant area and about 10 mins to either Cala D’Or and Cala Gran beaches. There are two supermarkets, Spa, within easy reach, the nearest being where you are dropped off outside the hotel main entrance, the other is towards town. There is also a very large one within 15 mins walk.

Two large pools, both included small children’s paddling pools, lots of sun-beds, not so many shades, children’s play area, Poolside Snack and Bar area, Entertainment area/stage, Gardens, Spa. There is also an indoor pool but it is only open from Mid September – end of May.

Pools are fairly large, freeform type, sun-beds cleaned everyday, wiped down, pool area including shower area cleaned everyday.

Entertainment supplied everyday, the hotels entertainment staff had something on everyday to amuse the children, but this was mainly for the up to 8 yr olds. Not a lot for the over 8’s. In the evening, 8:15 – 9pm was children’s entertainment, again based around the up to 8 yr olds, singing, dancing etc and from 9:15 onwards was adult entertainment, either supplied by the entertainment staff or brought in, the Rod Stewart act was very good.

The Pool Snack bar supplies food from about 10 am – 4pm and drinks from 10 am – Midnight. They also cater for take away if you want to eat either by your sun-bed or on your balcony.

If you are thinking of hiring a car, there is plenty of free parking out the front or at the side of the hotel. Be careful, on one side of the hotel you have to pay.

Three accommodation blocks;

Block one is the quietest, rooms overlooking a quiet swimming pool area but some rooms do overlook a main road. Block one also houses, reception, dining room, a small bar and the spa.

Block two is the noisiest, rooms overlooking the second swimming pool, snack bar and bar, entertainment area/stage. This block also has rooms overlooking a small garden area to the front and facing block one and blocks one swimming pool. Block two also has a children’s club in the cellar and a small children’s play area to the side.

Block three has all its rooms overlooking a gardened area, but higher rooms can also see the swimming pool area by block two.

Balconies very large, table and three chairs, wicker type, and a drying frame attached to the wall.

Rooms cleaned 5 times a week, not Tuesday and Friday.

Downside, if you have a lower floor room, people are constantly walking past, everyone can see in and if like us your room is on the lower floor and overlooks the pool by block two, there is constant noise all day, from the swimming pool and entertainment/stage area and also at night from 8:15 pm – 10:30:pm. It did spoil the holiday a little and we did try and get moved, but the hotel was fully occupied.

Overall we both think that this hotel is more a family hotel. But, we would stay there again.
