The Agryle waterfall is set in the rainforest which is worth the treck.
Pigeon point beach is the best on the island, it's a private beach in which you pay about £1.80 to get admission to. It's white sand from the coral and lots of snorkelling trips go from here. Lots of the other beaches on the island are yellowy/black due to the volcanic land.
I would go back, prehaps stay in a villa nearer everything as taxis from certain areas do cost and add up. |

We enjoyed this holiday although we did expect something to do.
You could not fault the hotel, the staff (were brilliant by the way) or the food but if you wanted to get out and about and not stay in the hotel, then you would have to hire a car as nowhere is in reasonable walking distance, not even anywhere to get a drink.
However if all you like doing is sitting on the beach all day long, eating and drinking merrily then this is the place to be. As there is nothing to do here.
The excursions here are all the same, doesnt matter who you go with, there are a hand picked number of tour companies who get business for exactly the same excursion. All except one of these excursions you can do yourself.
But!! A huge but! The wildlife was amazing. This is the only beach on the island where the Leatherback Turtles come up to lay their eggs and having watched these huge gentle giants doing so, has to be one of the highlights of the holiday. Although the tourists who did not comply with the rules and regulations - who did not stand back, often made them go back into the water which is dangerous.
The other highlight of our holiday was going on the most amazing excursion ever. - The Grenadines, which if you have ever been to the Carribean is one that is available from any island, although we found going from Tobago was by far the cheapest and we were really pleased to eventually be able to go.
This holiday would also be good if you either love to sit in the sun all day long on the beautiful beaches or if you like diving as I am told its the most amazing place to go in the ~Caribean for diving.
If you do go - for the WOW FACTOR - you must go on the Grenadine Islands Excursion. Swim with hawkbill turtles, sail on a beautiful big Pirate ship (featured on film) (only 8 people!)
Over all we enjoyed our holiday. But next time we will be trying another Caribean island. |
