One word, Mingin'.I have not been to a place so rough.We were a long ways from anywhere nice.There was a shut down arcade opposite that was so rough.It was like a ghost town.
The beach was miles away, and when we got there it was unimpressive.This was Kato Paphos for you, and I was not impressed at all.

This was the first visit to Pathos, we mainly stay in the Protaras area.
Pathos is spred out over a large area. I like the part were we stayed the Phaethon Beach Hotel which is between Pathos and the airport.
The old town is worth a visit but it is beter to go by bus it is quite a walk.
Some of the bars in January you could by a pint of beer for about £1

The resort cleanliness cannot be faulted, they have people cleaning 24 hours a day, i didn't see much of the entertainment because i used to go out for dinner about 8pm then continue til early hours!!! There is a beach practically at the top of the road from the resort, its lovely or you can jump on a bus for 50 cents and go to Coral Bay, the best beach in Paphos!!!

I have now moved back home but would live there a million times over!!!

The resort was clean but had some buliding going on in a few places near town.Entertainment is fab! Plenty of bars, clubs, restaurants and shops open late in town.The entertainment is catered for everyone, no matter the age!Suitable for people who want to party! but also for people who want to relax in a calm friendly atmosphere. Although there are a lot of clubs and bars you dont have to worry about the noise! Beaches are fine, small one near to Paphiessa Hotel but but the best one is in Coral Bay. Also some historical ruins nearby the hotel and a fab waterpark just 10 mins away on the bus.'Aphrodite's'. A great day out for the family especially if you are taking children. Overall the resort is fantastic whatever you plan to do on your holiday. Hope my review is of help to you!

As we'd been to Paphos in August we thought it would be interesting to see the resort out of season. It was lovely. There were no crowds, you could eat anywhere you liked with no waiting and were treated like royalty in all restaurants because they were glad to see customers! The resort of Paphos is very clean, kept to a high standard - good to see outside of season because it means that they care all year round what it looks like. I didn't go to any beaches while we were here this time but have visited Coral Bay beach (10 mins on the bus from Paphos) and it is lovely. Very big with lots of parasols, sunbeds and waters sports, but the water is gently sloping so safe for children.
Most of the bars and restaurants were open when we were here in March - there is one street in particular that contains all the clubs and bars - Bar Street (rather aptly named). This is where you found us on most nights. Woodyz was a good night, got busy by about 9pm even at this time of year. Also Divas seemed good although we went in here rather late and didn't stay long. Restaurant recommendation - Mothers - if you walk down the road from the Roman Hotel towards the harbour, it is on the left just before you get to Woolworths (you will see Woolies I promise). You will see an advertising board on the street and Mothers is through an archway on the left. I had Stiffado, my partner Mother's steak, we wanted each others as well as our own, very good quality and price.
I would recommend hiring a jeep and going up the mountains as well and if you go out of season you will see it is beautiful - I thought it looked like Switzerland, all long green grass, wild flowers, flowing mountain streams and 1000s of GOATS! Up on Mount Olympus we even had a snowball fight in our shorts, whilst being filmed by a man who was in fits of laughter - rather mean I thought, ha ha.

it was quiet at night time and needed some night tiem activities. over all the hotel and beach was very clean and i did enjoy my stay there.

Lots to do especially if you walk 20 mins or catch the bus to the harbour area of Paphos where you will find McD & Pizza Hut.

we love it, clean friendly, not at all overpowering. we have a teenage daughter and she loves it. feel very secure here

Paphos is lovely. there are loads of restaurants, bars, shops, and a couple of nightclubs for anyone wishing to dance the night away. lol. i would definitely recommend the restaurants- angelica's, sienna and the japanese place that i cant remember the name of. there is only one in paphos so it shouldnt be too difficult to find. paphos is beautiful. the harbour has lots of restaurants to go to and you can look out at the sea when you are eating. everyone working there are friendly but be careful about what u buy. they do anything to get u into their restaurant etc. haggling is always good in the shops here as well. There are a few great historical and cultural sites to visit but it is not a good idea to go to these in the middle of the day as it tends to get very hot and uncomfortable. If you can hire a car do it as there is loads to see and not all is on walking distance. i assure you you will love paphos and the st george hotel. theyre lovely. best holiday ever for me

A bit of everything for everyone. If you have a car, then you have more choice but most things are easily reachable by foot
Felt safe at all times walking the strrets at night and owners are very friendly..... beware however of the girly bars.... saw loads of stag parties around, but wasnt put off, as could avoid these by avoiding the larger bars

Phapos is a lovel resort. Cleanliness is like that of any hot country not bad, bit dusty sometimes.
No real beaches on this side of the island but all hotel have pools anyway.
Loads going on in the evenings. We took 3 small children and found it easy to find places to go. Cypriots are the nicest people and love children.
This was our 3rd time to Phapos and won't be out last.

Paphos its self is a lovely resort and very clean. The resort has an abundance of good and varied places to eat. The watering holes of Bar street are lively, although if its peace you crave, there are plenty of places on and off the beaten track for you.
We spent many an evening at Billys Bar, not far from the Aloe, which was run by a very friendy Cypriot couple who always made us feel very welcome.
Cannot coment on the beaches of Paphos, as we always headed up to the large sandy beach at Coral Bay.

pathos is a lovely resort. along the front there is an old castle to explore and a park with mosaics in.
if you carry on walking along the path at the end by the castle it leads to another nice bay as well.
the market in the old part of pathos is well worth a visit if looking for holiday presents to take home or cheap fruit to eat. most of the tavernas have music of an evening, be it traditional with costumed dancers to modern, also plenty of large screen tvs for footie fans!

The beach is ok but you can't swim or sunbath as it is so dangerous it is not good for little children.
The entetainers (hannah and craig)are friendly and the games are good but be warned you might need a lot of energy.

The resort of Paphos is clean and have been visiting the area for 10 years. Unfortunately the whole area appears to be a building site with noise and disruption in many places. Bar street looks great with the precinct completed but the new motorway will run from the airport to coral bay and the noise is bound to affect many of the hotels as we found when we stayed at the Paphiessa, a beautiful hotel which used to be in QUIET LOCATION, deliberately chosen by myself because of this. To say I was upset to find a motorway being constructed behind the pool is an understatement. Obviously Paphos entering the EU means that the roads and areas have to be accessible and up to standard, but this does not help if you are in a wheelchair and have to stay on the road to get about. We love Paphos but have decided after this year that we will wait a few years before returning and maybe they will have completed many of the roads and building works.

Paphos is typical of this part of the world - laid back and tomorrow will do. Really good for a relaxing holiday. If you are into photography, there are plenty of excellent 'sites' in and around the town. Local people are friendy and respond really well if spoken to in their own language!

Every where you go, the locals are friendly and speak good English. There is a wide selection of entertainment from clubs to local Greek dancing. There are also quiet places to drink.

Our first visit to Paphos for our daughters wedding was very enjoyable. However towards the end of our visit, more and more bars / restaurants were opening up and it was becoming very busy. Also, whilst walking along the seafront to the east of Paphos we noticed that several large hotels were being built. I hope that this building work will not spoil a very pretty resort.

It took about 15-20 minutes to walk down to the harbour and you can either walk along the beach or along the main street, either way it is a pleasant stroll although the rubbish lying around spoils the overall impression. Watch out for the uneven pavements (which seem to be the norm here).When you reach the harbour, stop and have a drink at Seagulls Restaurant, where there is always a warm welcome, and admire the view.

Paphos is much busier than I remembered from our last visit 4 years ago with a great deal of development going on. There are a great number of Estate Agents and Developers offices.

Walking down to the harbour you will be pestered with Ticket scratch card touts! THESE ARE REALLY SOMETHING TO AVOID! DO NOT BE TAKEN IN BY THEM. They are very convincing – but believe me you will always “Win a holiday” but this is only to get you to their offices, where you will be brainwashed for 3 hours+ in an effort to try and get you to part with the best part of £6.500 for a holiday share scheme! we had read about this and knew about these people and we still got caught! We are still trying to work out how they managed to get us? so you have been warned.!!!

The harbour is a really nice place to sit and watch the world go by. There are the Mosaics to visit (really cheap to get in about 50cents (60p)). A walk out around the headland at the end of the harbour is very pleasant (but not in the heat of the day- there is no shade at all) and it’s a long way to the little snack bar along the beach). We actually walked to the Tomb of the Kings this way and as the bus trip is only 50cents (60p) from the harbour if its hot, I would not attempt it again. Tomb of the Kings is a must for photo’s so don’t forget the camera!

There are many wonderful trips to do in Cyprus from the Troodos Mountains to Nicosia and Lefkara. There are jeep Safari’s and round the Island trips. Most of which we have done and are well worth the money, but shop around for the trips as they do differ a lot in cost. Do not book from the Travel Reps as they are usually more expensive this way. There are lots of Cars for hire, though some of these are more expensive than others, so again shop around.

Coral Bay is a bus ride away from Paphos (50c) and is about the best sandy beach in this area although it is small, so don’t expect too much. There is a small car park a snack bar and a toilet. There are sunbeds and parasols to hire.

Eating out – we found the best place to eat in the evening was Viva Cyprus along the main road just opposite Alexander the Great Hotel. You can get a three course evening meal for 5.95cp (about £7.20) and this includes Sirloin steak if you want it. You even get a complimentary drink with your bill. Always busy, but Chris on the door will always reserve a table for the evening if you ring or when you are passing by in the afternoon.

The other good places to eat in the day are Rose PUB, (just off Bar Street) www.therosepub.com(take a look). Nippies Tea Rooms (Opposite Almyra Hotel on the main road there is the “Tourist information booth” the road that runs along behind this – Nippies is the first right turn)

If like us you are not up to Bar Street and all that it has to offer then why not head for a drink in the evenings to Evis’s Bar and Billy’s Bar, down the second turning on the right just along the road from the Hotel. And there is Romantica Restaurant next to the hotel for that special meal or if you just want to watch big screen TV sport and have a beer in their terrace bar.

So pack the sunscreen, hat and sunglasses and head for the delightful Island of Cyprus.

I am about to visit Paphos for the 3rd time. The thing I enjoy most is the relaxed, safe atmosphere of Cyprus. We enjoy eating out and there is a superb choice of restaurants and at various price levels. We also enjoy wallking and the excellent bus service means if you get tired walking, you just hop on a bus!

cyprus we find to be a very pretty island with plenty of places to explore.there is also plenty of entertainment in the evening either sitting having a meal or sitting having a drink

The resort in paphos was ok but we found it an advantage to hire a car and go out and about. Places of interest are the Tombs of Kings, Coral bay, Paphos harbour.

We went to coral bay beach which was great, and we would visit again, it took us about 20 mins on the bus, the actuall roads and area are very dusty, and if you are driving be carefull they drive a little dodgy. We spent most evenings at the harbour which has plenty of places to eat and lots of gift shops. We would go back to the harbour only next time we would hire a car which really is a must.

Phapos harbour is fairly small but very pretty. There are several restaurants on the harbour front, all very good. The castle/fort is worth a visit.

Paphos is a very pleasant town, the shops were good, there's some interesting history, there's a water slide park and a good bus and taxi service. Coral bay was nice, a bit more modern than Paphos, more beach resort.

resort was a bit far out but still plenty to do within walking distance. night clubs only visited a couple but were we did visit was ok. recommend the excusions they were very good.

Lots of bars in the centre of Paphos if you want to dance. The usual Kareoke etc, quieter family bars a little out of the centre of town. lovely harbour area with nice bars. We got married whilst in Cyprus so didn't get much chance to explore the sights. would love to go back.

We found Paphos to be too commercialised, we spoke to a couple who had visited this resort 7 years ago and mentioned how it had changed for the worse.

We hired a car and visited a few places around the island. Do be aware that their roads are often unmade and quite dangerous, ie no crash barriers on higher roads.

Don't bother to attend the welcome meeting, the Portland rep just tried to sell her trips and didn't really offer any useful info.

All in all, we were very disappointed with this holiday. If it wasn't for the fantastic weather then it would have been a complete waste of money.

We obviously liked Paphos or we would not have stayed there 7 times in all. However the place is changing from the relaxed safe pleasant resort it once was & becoming more rowdy with vandalism & crime.
There are some good eating places we particularly liked Viva Cyprus excellent food great staff good value for money.
Winter sun resorts are hard to find so it is sad to see such a change in what once was our favourite.

paphos is a great place brilliant for teenagers and clubbers and as quite as you want it to be it has got the best of both worlds.definatley would go again

Paphos was very clean, the people are the most friendly i have met anywhere abroad. Bar street and the harbour was great.
There is everything in Bar street for young and old.
We were at a wedding at st georges chapel, then went sailing on a boat at the harbour it was great.
There is lots of boat trips to go on ,you should really try one it s great. The beach at the hotel was good for teenagers , mine was 14,he went skydiving and on the banana boat and swam but its quite rocky.i have already booked to go back to paphos next year,it s great.

Many nice, quiet restaraunts etc if you are looking fo a quiter break. There is also a large bar street with many clubs and bars. Word of warning, the PR's outside the clubs will offer you a free cocktail / shots to get you in - ask for a beer or ask that they show you what's going in, otherwise, they are completely alcohol free!!!!!!

Me and 4 firends have just returned and we had a great time in Paphos.

We have visited Paphos four times and this year will be our fifth. It is an ideal resort for families with children. There is plenty to do for people of all ages and interests.
Everyone is very friendly (genuine, not just friendly to help you part with your money.)
A wide selection of eating places, some excellent, some not too good, but you get what you pay for.
Good night life but very busy at weekends. Thankfully Paphos does not cater for the rowdy types, so you can feel completely safe. You really need to go more than once to appreciate what is on offer.

Bar street being just a few minutes walk for the Nereus hotel provided lively and varied entertainment.

Baywatch definately worth visiting for the variety of cocktails and freindly staff.

Beach was rocky and not that big considering the resorts size.

We like Paphos. Although it has changed over the years as new hotels, apartments and villas have increased its size and population it still has a nice relaxed feel to it. It is not too noisy or overcrowded and has plenty of bars and cafes for a relaxing drink while taking in the surroundings. Long may it stay like this.

Paphos was lovely.We went on a boat trip from the harbour which was interesting and informative as well as nice and cool! Cafes and retaurants were all clean and reasonably priced. It was easy to travel around by bus and so cheap.Taxis also were very well priced and no one tried to up the price. Local people were very friendly and spoke English very well.

Paphos is a great town if not a bit expensive.
It is awell kept place very little litter around
The entertainment is good always worthwhile to go along and watch listen and dance. Tv screens everywhere for those who want to watch matches in the pubs out there.
The beach was lovely and clean as was the water.
I would visit again but they really need to re think theprices they charge for things.

Best restaurant in town has to be Flambe they cooked out pepper steak and steak diane beside our table it was fantastic we went there the last 3 nights of our holiday, would have went all 14 nights - can not be beaten - is opposite the Alexander the Great Hotel and Anabelle Hotel.

Pafos interesting for archaelogy and ancient history and well worth a visit once. Decent beaches require a bus ride out of town. Good choice of restaurants.
It all looks unfinished, development along the coastline haphazard so there is no waterside promenade to many of the hotels,with masses of expat housing and hotel building across the whole area.

Easy access from airport but not near enough to be bothered by plane noise.
Plenty of bars and shops to wander round and the harbour area is very pretty.
Interesting archaeology in the area to visit at very reasonable prices.
Car hire in plenty with good roads if you want to explore with English road signs. Try a jeep safari for an entertaining and informative day.
Very friendly people who are pround of their Island.

We found Paphos clean, friendly and pretty, especially in the harbour area, with many places to visit by bus or taxi, if you do not hire a car. Two of which are the Tomb of the Kings and Coral Bay. Would certainly recommend Paphos to couples and families. It is lively, but also relaxing.

I would definately recommend a bus journey to Coral Bay, the beach is made up of golden sand and is really clean. If you go I would recommend you get there early as spots in the shade can be taken up quickly and it does get very hot at midday. While you're in Cyprus I would recommend that you visit the Fassouri waterpark in Limmosol, it's a great day out, especially if you have older children or you are with a group of adults. Overall the holiday was fantastic and I recommend it to everyone considering Cyprus.

Very very very clean resort. The entertainment was brilliant for kids and mediocre for adults but then it is family orientated.
The nearby beach wasn't up to much but just up the rd is is the nicest beach i have ever visited (Coral Bay).Easy to access on the bus even with kids.
I wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

Paphos is by far the best resort in Cyprus. Plenty of entertainment for all ages and tastes.
The Adeladia restraunt on the main street of Kato Paphos is a must, make sure you are hungry. The set menu at £5.95 CYP offers a three course meal with enough choices to allow you to return three or four times in a two week visit and have something different without eating a similar type meal.
Not being a beach fan, we did not visit the beach, but it did look clean.
If intending to stay in Paphos for the whole of your visit there is no great need to hire a car as the fixed bus fare of 50 cents per journey allows you plenty of scope to travel to the town centre and market etc.

Paphos is a beautiful resort, it has something for everyone. For those who want to explore there are the ancient monuments, tomb of the kings etc. i have visited these sites previsouly, but the mosaics and ruins are amazing, i had to go again. For anyone who loves shopping there is the old, main part of town, this is a short bus ride away, it is worth it. there are markets and many high street shops. The best beach around is corel bay, this is about a 15 minute bus ride away, but when the bus only costs 50 cents, there is no excuse for not going. I would recomend paphos to anyone, it has peace, yet still entertainment, and all round good fun.

Paphos was the first place we had visited in Cyprus and it certainly put me in the mood to try others. No hill climbing to the hotels here, it is very flat which makes walking very easy, even for those of us who are far from fit. The night life is good and not too crazy. We tried 10 different restaurants in 14 days and every one was very good. As for the those archaeological sites... second to none!

Well wha can i say, the beach was great, nice sand, not too far from the hotel and the people were great. Over-all a fantastic place!

Stayed in Ayia Napa a couple of years ago (which we loved) and visited Paphos on a day trip and to be honest were not overly impressed. However, when we stayed at St George in Paphos because of a friends wedding, we were very pleasantly surprised. It is a lovely town with plenty of shops, restaurants, bars, couple of clubs, just enough of everthing for everyone. The harbour is especially nice on a sunny afternoon wathing the boats bobbing about. After our holiday in Paphos, we would without second thought return there rather than Ayia Napa.

The resort was lovely and relaxed and would highly recommend it to anyone. Beaches were clean and uncrowded. Plenty of mixed entertainment but mainly a couples resort which was great.
Well worth visiting the rest of the island when there and if you get the chance fly to Egypt for the day - a day not to be missed!!!

We didnt venture out of the hotel much, mainly due to the fact that i was nearly six months pregnant and in the heat travelling out was impossible, we did go into Paphos town to the markets and got a few bargains, brought the baby a cypriot outfit!

The road our hotel was on we named sunset boulevard as all the hotels along it seemed very posh and to a high standard. It would have been nice to have a stroll in the evening along to the shops and tavernas but they were really a bit to far out for us anyway.

Paphos is a very nice place which has lots of historical places of interest, the tomb of the kings the castle on the harbour for example.
The harbour area is the main tourist place , with abundant cafe bars for food and drink, the usual shops selling leather goods, teeshirts , pottery and jewlery etc .There is Macdonalds , pizza hut and even woolworths.
Street sellers for hair braids, tattoo's, named necklaces etc along the harbour area.
This area you will find your red faced brit in cafe's advertising cheap 3 -course meal deals.
If you are looking for the more traditional Greek food or good quality chinese/french restuarants then steer clear of this area.
A 20 mins walk from the hotel towards kato paphos there are a few restaurants and we recommed the french and chinese on the top floors, great food and relaxing atmosphere

Paphos is basically an old town 1 mile or so from the front, some small beaches and harbour.It made me think that the Greek Cypriots were trying to make the best of a poor location. I've never been to so many places with 5 star hotels but even Coral Bay (their best beach ) was not up to much. Hired a car for 3 days Renault Megane for £20 per day with aircon (the only time I have hired a car without showing my passport,credit card or home address) We also hired a 200HP (yes I mean two hundred horse power) speed boat £50 an hour again no paperwork .The Greek Cypriots are a very friendly laid back people and although I wouldn't go to Paphos again I would go to the smaller resorts such as Polis about an hour from Paphos

What can I say.Paphos is a lovely place to come.We are aiming to move out here eventually.The people are so friendly.Best places to eat are the Karlina restaurant on the Tomb of the Kings Road and the Althiea restaurant in Coral Bay.Harry at the Karlina and George at the Althiea will make you very welcome.Best night at the Althiea is Monday as it is Greek night.I always have the moussaka.Delicious!!!!There are some beautiful places to visit.Make sure you hire a car to get the best out of your holiday

The Resort is really nice...clean and tidy. There are loads of restaurants, bars and shops all the way down to the harbour and then up to the old town aswell. There is also a market which is really good as it is in the shade so not too hot and there is a bus which goes direct to it.

The beach is quite small really and we didnt go for a day there. There is a beach though with beds and brollies but we spent a day at the beach at coral bay which is only a short drive and again there is a bus which goes there.The beaches are really clean though and the sea was warm!

Oh we got told by the rep during the airport transfer that time share had found its way to paphos and was all over. But we didnt see one person so it was ok

Definately visit Mama Mia's Italian Restaruant at the Tomb of the Kings!

There was also another small restaurant the name of which I forget. It is on the corner directly up from the Paphos Aquarium (on the very edge of the harbour)across from a pub called O Bar. It is a family run restataunt and the food is out of this world!!

Paphos itself is very clean compared to most resorts I have visited. The bus service is cheap and runs frequently.

Visit the Old Market for good shopping!

Having visited Paphos before we knew what to expect. The Cypriot people are very friendly and genuine. We felt very safe. There is a huge selection of restaurants (a favourite being Maestro's at the back of the Aquarium) and bars, mainly aimed at younger people, but also places for ages 40+. The beach isn't brilliant but you wouldn't go to Paphos for a beach holiday - thats what Ayia Napa and Protaras are for. There is a beautiful beach at Golden Bay, a short taxi ride away, and if you like horse riding, the route overlooking the sea caves is breathtaking. Lots to see, lots to do (especially if you have a car).

Before i give my views i would just like to say that although we were not impressed with paphos we did have a lovely holiday there and there were people who loved it there,you only have to see the large number of ex pats who live there and love it.
We found it too hot to get around of a daytime with babies in tow so we only got to see the area we stayed in. We stayed it King Jason apartments which were fine but the area in my opinion is one huge building site at the moment.
I think if you are looking for a real touch of cyprus then this is not the place for you,quite a few of the restaurants and shops seem to be run by English, who are very nice and friendly but somtimes you feel you could be in blackpool or on a hot day not cyprus.
We were so disappointed at the lack of beach, we did intend to travel to coral bay but when a few people went they said it wasnt worth the effort of getting there so we didnt bother.
If you like shopping then you are likely to be a little disappointed there isnt much and no bargains, except maybe for the jewllery shops they are plentiful and well worth a visit, quite good prices!
We would not go back there and i couldnt hand on heart recommend it but thats just our opinion, we did have a lovely time and lots of people go year after year.
We didnt find it as expensive as we thought it would be for eating out maybe a little cheaper than here in uk. The food is average we only got one really bad meal the rest were ok some better than others,but lots and lots of places to eat,even had macdonalds and pizza hut.
All i can say that if a bargain holiday came up then give it a go and see for yourself, it might be that you love it.

loved Paphos, as we have done for the last 5 years holidaying there. Something for everyone, can be quite or lively as you want it to be. Great choice of good priced restaurants. Cheap bus travel locally and to out lying areas.
Beach's are ok, although with tended to travel to coral bay.

Paphos is ok could do with a few more classy restaurants and bars

Paphos is a lovely resort. There are excellent family bars and restaurants as well as bars and clubs for the more lively. The locals are very friendly. There is a public beach to the left of the Alexander the great which is clean. There is lots to see and do here and i would recommend it to anyone.

paphos is a great place to visit with lots of things for all the family to do!it was clean and fresh and the people are soooo friendly. the bars are fantastic,drink is cheap,waiters are so friendly and i would highly recommend The Little Palace situated at the end of bar street to the left!if u go there say hi to nicos and james from liz.the food there is fantastic! and also a must for great food is 'za za' situated just by paphos gardens. this holiday was by far the best iv ever had and i highly reccomend paphos gardens hotel and appartments!!!

The Azia is neither Paphos or Coral Bay, being on the very outskirts of Paphos. It is a quite pleasant location, although for the full town experience, you do need to drive up to the "Tourist Area" round the harbour, or to Coral Bay itself.
Plenty of entertainment if you want it, but not intrusive to those who don't want to club the night away, and loads of places to eat out - think of a cuisine and you will find it in Paphos.
The beaches are all a bit shingly with the exception of Coral Bay, which is crowded as a result.
However, the fact that this is our third visit to Cyprus, and our second to Paphos should tell you all you need to know!

paphos has got something for everyone,from fish restaurants on the harbour to macdonalds every taste is covered.
there is a massive selection of bars and clubs open until the early hours.
paphos is not renowned for its beaches so you will find them small but clean,however there are watersports aplenty available from parascending to jet skis.
the resort boasts a brilliant waterpark and mini golf course area for families or couple alike.
restaurants we reccommend dianas,manhattan ant the indian opposite the annabelle hotel.

Paphos is a lively resort if you want it to be but is also very tranquil around the harbour and out towards Coral Bay. So many places to eat but our good old favourites remain Maestros and new to us this year Dianas steak house - both excellent food albeit huge portions! Avoid Othellos - the lady enticing you in is quite rude if you choose not to eat in her restaurant - she was quite scary and very abusive to us after we declined her on 2 occasions - the time we did eat there was not up to much either!

Very large area for bars and places to eat, too many to choose from, but we didnt think that the quality of the food was brilliant, I think that they are catering for the English "We want quantity not quality"My Husband went fishing with the boat "charlies angel" not vey good more of a boat trip than fishing.

It was quite quiet just a few bars and shops nearby. On a busy road but plenty of taxis and buses which pass frequently. The private beach was of a good standard, so didn't visit public beach apart from Coral Bay which is nice but busy.

paphos is wonderful for all the family, the people are friendly beyond belief and nothing is too much trouble for them

Very clean resort due to the new developments that have taken place. Good restaurants and bars, but ayia napa would be better for youngsters.More of a relaxed atmosphere in paphos. the airport in paphos is very close to resort which i thought was good.

Location very good a great variety of shops, bars and restaurants. Weather very warm. No beach but they have a lovely harbour with shops and more restaurants. Overall a great holiday. Would return again in the near future.

The resort of Paphos was brilliant. Plenty to do, see and some great eating places including Bar Street. Recommend Troudoos Jeep Safari £25.00 per adult, but well worth money brill lunch included. Coral Bay Beach beautiful a must for all beach bums. Tomb of the Kings just one of many historical places to see - but do take water extremely hot! Phaphos water park excellent day out.

I found Paphos to be an excellent all round resort. The place is clean and feels "safe".
The Basillca is situated in a great location near to the Harbour and a small beach. The best beaches were to be found a short stroll away near to the Annabel Hotel were there are loads of watersports to try.
Eating out is a problem - theres too much choice! Seriously the tavernas and restauants are very good value for money, even we found in the Harbour where we thought we may have had to pay a little bit more.
Bar Street is OK if you like constant music bars showing football coverage!! Cocktail bars abound but we found the best bars to be the ones tucked up side streets away from Bar Street.
Our favorite Taverna was The Gorgona near to Woolworth's. Theo is a lovely gentleman and his family are most gracious.
Take a trip to Coral Bay which is fastly becoming very developed.
You must hire a car as well. We covered miles and only had a car for three days, we wish we had kept it longer. Troodos, Polis, Latch and Pissouri are are worth a visit.
All in all a great holiday

Watersports available on the beach. Supermarket across the road was pretty good , clothes hats creams etc and you can hire cars / motorbikes outside the hotel and in Pafos . Do take the time to see the island - Coral Bay - Troodos mountains and do walk along the Pafos harbour - lots of stalls etc . Good days out at the waterparks we went to Limassol and afos and teh kids rated the pafos one to be better. People are very friendly. Have a good time we did.

Paphos itself is amust see for any traveller. The ruins are incredible, and you have to do a jeep safari to appreciate the land.

good heratage sights to see and cheap to get in.
Bus service is good and 50 cents flat rate each person.
Artemis restaurant is very high quality traditional and international food and a wonderful atmospher.Our children loved it!Just walk out of the hotel straight up and turn right then second road on the left.
The market is worth a visit too, must have the deep fried dough balls dipped in rose water.
The harbour is lovley at night.

Extremely clean, friendly staff, entertainment poor. This hotel is situated in a residential area, so it was lovely and peaceful, we ate out every evening, plenty of places to choose from. Hire a car, there is so much to see and do. We had a Nissan Patrol for 8 days, well worth it.
Look forward to going back to Cyprus again.

Paphos is a fairly decent resort, apart from the dreaded Mac.....lds, Pizza Hut and pizza express. (As Austin {Powers might possibly say, who goes on holiday to Cyprus to eat big macs). Went on two boat trips, the glass bottom boats are not worth it as the sea is not very deep so you do not see anything, but the sunset cruise was enjoyable. Good bus service, buses run approx every 20mins and a flat fare of 50 cents but they finish at 11.00 p.m. so its either a long walk or a four pound taxi fare.

Paphos itself was actually OK in an ex-pat and Brits-abroad kind of way.

Bar Street was the home of the various British pubs and nightclubs and obviously has ambitions to being Playa Las Americas with its resident tat and all-day English breakfasts. Most of the shops around also sold fake designer t-shirts and all the usual holiday souvenir junk you’d expect, including a nice line in hardcore porn DVDs. Samurai swords also worryingly featured quite heavily.

Paphos Gardens was quite close to the beach and this was pleasant enough if a bit seaweed-infested. But buy mats and an umbrella as it works out about £5 per day if you want to use the sun-loungers and umbrellas already there. In fact everything seemed to be quite pricey and we live in London and are used to paying over the odds for most items so if we noticed it then it must be quite expensive.

The Archeological Park was pretty cheap and very good, although it gets very hot so head out there early if you plan to do the lot in one visit. The Tomb of Kings was similarly impressive and some of the mould in several of the tombs was in fact a distant cousin of what we saw in our apartment bathroom.

There were also plenty of other sites of interest dotted around Paphos and it’s worth getting a map or a guide book and locating them as it gives a flavour of what the place has gone through and reminds you there is more to the place than shops selling tat.
A trip to the old town is also worth a look. The market mainly sells tourist tat but the fresh fruit is very cheap and the Ethnographic Museum, the Paphos Archeological Museum and the Byzantium Museum are worth a look if you make the journey.

EATING OUT
We ate out most nights and tended to stick to the set menus as these were cheaper. Our advice would be:

The Mandarin sells largely tasteless and very expensive Chinese food. Avoid at all costs.

After our Mandarin experience we avoided Oriental food for a while and only ventured out to Asiana on our last night. But the food was very good, the service excellent and the set menus very reasonable. The buffet also looks like it’s good value.

Phivos was a Cypriot fish restaurant which was pretty good and pretty reasonably priced.

We ate at Brothers on several nights and on each one the food was excellent and the service very good. The lamb kleftico and beef stifado were excellent too.

Michaels was the eating highlight of the holiday. A family-run Cypriot restaurant where the food and service was excellent. Try the mezze as the food just keeps coming and it’s all wonderful.

TRIPS
We only ventured out of Paphos once on a jeep safari to Lara Bay to see the turtles, then up to the beach at Laatchi which was truly beautiful and to the Baths of Aphrodite. This was our best day of the holiday and we booked it much cheaper by checking out a few shops nearby rather than booking it through our travel company rep.

There were also trips to the Troodos Mountains and day trips and cruises to Egypt. If you do book any trips, though, shop around for prices as the reps charge way over the odds.

There is a wide selection of restaurants. Would like to make a special mention to:

Fat Mammas (Tomb of the Kings Road) - Although not Cypriot, the food is first class, the portions enormous and the price equivalent to everywhere else. It is very popular so if you don't want to queue for 40 mins or more, get there before 7pm.

Mothers - On the main road to the harbour from Paphos. It is tucked away on the left hand side, but it is a traditional cypriot restaurant with friendly staff and good food and very cheap.

Roof Top Restaurant on Tomb of the Kings Road (cannot remember name) - Really special and desserts to die for! Ask for the set menu as it is not offered to you unless you ask. A little more expensive than others, but worth it.

Jackie Ma (Chinese) on Tomb of the Kings Road - DO NOT GO THERE IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED. The hostess can be quite rude and is not very pleasant to the children. It was a shame because the food was not bad.

Would not visit resort again purely because once you have seen it, you've seen it.

The resort is very clean and the entertainment in Paphos is fantastic.

There are beaches close by but we didn't visit any.

Paphos is beautiful, try to ignore the touts who sell timeshares, but go visit the tomb of the kings, the rag tree and paphos castle... Full of history aswell, i absolutley love this resort, and the bars are great too!

We stayed in the Phaethon Beach hotel about 20 minutes walk outside of the harbour but we certainly didn't feel apart from the resort.

The bus service is superb and is only 50 cent for any journey anywhere the bus goes. On our journey into the harbour we passed a couple of areas with restaurants and bars so it isn't a derelict road in by any means.

The harbour is a lot smaller than I expected but nice all the same. The main road only goes so far towards the main part of the harbour before turning off away leaving the harbour untouched by regular traffic.

Across the sea front and harbour there are masses of restaurants and bars all trying to entice you in. Despite this and the amount of folk about it is a very well kept area and the Castle is easily accessible.

Staying on the main road takes you out of the harbour and towards Paphos town or Coral Bay depending on which way you go. We walked to Tomb of Kings one day which took us a leisurely half hour and that was in the midday heat that suprisingly didn't bother us as much as I thought. It was 75 cents each to get in to the Tomb of Kings and certainly is on for you archealogical buffs.

If you want bars and nightlife then head for Bar Street. You can either access it from the top side using the entrance near the Alexander The Great hotel or from the bottom side which we chose to do as they were a couple of bars on the way up. From the harbour walk up the right hand side of McDonalds and a few yeards up you will see Players bar. I must admit this is my ideal front room as it is an open air bar with big screens either side and around 7 smaller tv's around the bar area all showing different sports. On both Saturday afternoons me and the brother in law spend a few hours there watching 4 different English matches as well as Soccer Saturday at the same time while polishing off numerous £1.50cyp Keo's.

Just up from Players is The Rose, another British style pub. If you head past that and take the second right you will see a church in front of you and a restaurant on the left. It is very quiet so you may think you are on the wrong route for Bar Street but just walk down the left hand side of the church and low behold Bar Street opens out in front of you.

One road is mainly restaurants but the main strip is just bars. Definitely go in Robin Hood, quality cocktails and service.

A few of the bars are average and entice you in with 2 for 1 offers then move the goalposts when you're there, me being the sort of bloke to open my mouth I always got what had been offered but had to fight(not literally) for it.

The karaoke bar there next to Bubbles is a small poky place and doesn't look much but it is a great laugh and the DJ is a funny guy and gets you all up singing if you like it all not. I don't think I've ever sung Billy Ocean-Love Really Hurts Without You or Sweet-Wig Wam Bam so many times in one night.

We went over there to get married and have to admit that the wedding day was the only day we made it into Paphos Town. The town hall was superb and a fantastic setting, the weather was beautiful as expected and the whole day was just a wonderous experience. If anyone is condsidering getting married aborad I would highly recommend doing it in Paphos.

All in all a fantastic place and we'll definitely be going back in future years. In fact the house prices are so reasonable we may even move out there.

The resort was great! When 16 I'm going to live over there.

Paphos is a lovely place plenty of shops (although most only sold tat!) Loads of eating places - especially the Rib Shack - best fahitas in town! and a bar just near the shop 10 minutes away called THE BEER GARDEN best Tequila sunrises and sex on the beach cocktails at a fraction on the price of the Paphian Bay.

Would I return to Cyprus? Definatly
Would I return to the Paphian Bay? No. I would pay that little bit extra and stay in the Riu Cypria Bay or even the Athena Beach.

The Phaethon is only about 20 minutes from the airport which is great when you have been in the aeroplane for 4 1/2 hours. The beach outside the hotel is very poor really and you wouldnt be able to swim in it because of the seaweed - but if you go to the part out side the RIU they have cleaned it up and its really nice. You cant use their sun beds so you have to use your own towels.

About ten minutes walk to the left of the hotel are a few bars and little shops which make a change to go out now and again. The main town and harbour of Paphos is a 5 minute bus ride and here you will find all the tavernas, shops etc with a wide range of things to do.
Would I go back to the Phaethon - definately. It is a bit out of the way but the buses run every 15 mins and you can go anywhere for 50 cents. Don't hesitate book it now!!

A short walk from the hotel is Artemis for good food and a lovely atmosphere we all loved it.

Paphos is very English so if you're looking for a taste of the real Cyprus you'll have to travel to find it, although there are several historical sites of interest. It's a pleasant seafront resort though with loads of reasonably priced restaurants geared up to the English tourist. Shops are mostly tourist shops or jewellery shops - one or two nice leather and shoe shops though.

The most 'authentic' restaurant we managed to find was a place called Argo which is located not far from the Town Hall in a side street opposite a pottery shop. Nice food, reasonably priced and a bit off the main drag, so not always packed. Most restaurants offer a set menu ranging from £5.95 - £8.95. I'd recommend The Perfume Garden - lovely food, ok location and nice service - 3 courses and coffee for £5.95. Les Amis restaurant (near Alexander the Great Hotel on opposite side of road and up a side street) was also good.

Coral Bay is the only decent beach in Paphos - you need to get a bus or drive to it from most of the Hotels/apartments. There are a couple of other beaches by the harbour but nothing very appealing.

Paphos isn't for groups of girls or lads looking for a party holiday although there are a few bars and pubs and a couple of discos/clubs - most of the nightlife centres around the restaurants. Harbour area is very busy and seems to be where most people stroll to during the evening. Great place for middle aged or older couples looking for a relaxing and safe home from home holiday.

The Cypriot people were lovely!

Lively resort, suitable for couples or families. the harbour and surrounding area very lively. there is plenty of choice of restaurants and bars on the quieter King of Tombs road though.

The resort was exceptionally clean, never saw a roadsweeper but never saw litter either (creepy!!)

There were plenty of restaurants around the hotel - the Ribshack being our favourite - but if you want a more lively evening - 20 minutes walk to Kato Paphos and the Harbour will find it.

The entertainment in the bars tends to be just music and large TV screens - but again up in Kato Paphos you have all the bumping music bars you want.

My 16 year old daughter was a bit bored in the evening.

We are not beach people so was not disappointed that the beach was poor but if you love the beach this part of the resort is not for you.

The bus will take you to Coral Bay which apparently has a wonderful beach. The bus costs just 50p to go anywhere you want - great value for money. We went to the Tomb of the Kings and the market. Buses run frequently.

The waterpark is close by - you could walk it but its very hot - take the bus - its only 50p!!

We would definitely go to Paphos again but stay closer to Kato Paphos so that there's more life for my teenage daughters.

The resort and the entertainment were very good but we did find it expensive to eat out

The resort of Kato Paphos is generally clean. Some areas worse than others with litter and the proverbial drain smells.


If you want Burger & Chips or Lobster Thermidor, all can be had in this resort.

Several Tavernas selling the same Greek food, some doing a 3 course evening meal for £5.95. Some good, some bad. Ficardo's fish restaurant was exceptional. We sampled Sea Bream and Bass and the Spaghetti dishes, all very good and very reasonable.

There is a choice of entertainment from the quiet place for a drink to lots of Bars pumping out 60's, 70's and 80's music.Many of these with wide screens for the football fans.
Prices for drinks varies, the White Hart Pub was the cheapest we found.

The beaches in the resort are very small. The largest municipal beach could have done with raking over as it was covered in cigarette ends. The 2 smaller beaches were very clean and quiet. Sunbeds and umbrellas ae available on all.
Coral Bay further north of the resort is lovely but gets very busy and some of the beaches along the south coast are very good too.

All the archeaological sites are well worth a visit, also St Pauls Church and Pillar are interesting. Paphos harbour is worth a stroll along, we did not see the famous pelican but saw a kingfisher instead.

The shopping in Kato Paphos consists mainly of souvenir gift stores but there is a Woolworths which strangely sells Debenhams branded items. The town of Phapos and the market are better and the shopping more varied.

Car hire and driving around the resort is easy. The buses are wonderful but busy. They run every 15 mins from one side of Kato Paphos upto Coral Beach and the fare is 50 cents each.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks and we loved it,food,staff and the hotel itself was brilliant and the entertainment couldnt have been better, we loved the reps and would definetly recommend this hotel to anyone else.!!!!!!!!!

From September onwards Paphos attracts the over 55's. Resort very clean with plenty of first class restaurants. Just don't expect sandy beaches - relax by the hotel pool instead.

Paphos is very dry, dusty and most of it looks like a big building site, with houses and hotels being built on any spare bit of ground, but is relatively clean none the less.

Most of the bars seemed to be obsessed with football, whether that's to appeal to the Brits or for their own interest I don't know, but was on in all the bars.

There's not much of a beach in Paphos, it resembles very fine gravel as opposed to sand, most people go to Coral Bay.

The public toilets are absolutely disgusting,and should be avoided at all costs. I would visit this resort again but only because of the hotel.

Paphos was lovely and there were lots of things to see and do (unless your idea of entertainment is a pub crawl). The best beach is at coral bay which is a short bus ride away. The bus costs just 50c wherever you want to go to. There is water park, sea life centre, go carting and the bird park for the kids, all within easy reach. If you fancy a bit of culture there are masses of archeological sites to visit and you can arrange cruises to Egypt from Llimasol. Definitely worth a visit is Yanni's beach bar, located next to the Kefalos Beach hotel, where you can sit and watch the sun go down over the sea.

Loved Paphos, it had something for everyone. Restaurants are excellent as is the wine!

If you go out at night you'll need to take a torch and a good pair of shoes, the streets are badly lit and the pavements are in a terrible state of disrepair!

If you want a good beach you'll have to go to coral bay which was lovely. Buses are very cheep only 50p any journey. Eating out is expensive a coffee costs about £1.80p and the same for a glass of coke.

If you visit Cyprus don't go in august it's to hot for sight seeing.

The harbour is very clean with plenty of bars and different types of restaurants- Pizza Hut and Mcdonalds for the kids, as well as the traditional restaurants. Waterpark just a short bus ride away. Lots of rides at the waterpark. Had a really good time there.

Closest beach we found is Coral Beach, which is quite nice and plenty of watersports.

We were between Pathos and Coral bay, the harbour was great for shops and evening walks but Coral bay was best for the beach.

Paphos is mostly clean, plently of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes

Beaches are nice but not the best!!

Don't go to Paphos if you enjoy beach holidays.

The harbour was a good place to go to at night there is plenty to do there plenty of places to eat and shop

The beach is dangerous for young children as there are too many cliff edges and the beach is a red flag beach, which is generally too dangerous to swim in.

Paphos town center is not much better.

Lovely. Not like any other part of Cyprus.
Great Indian restaurant called Kohinoor near Alex the Great hotel.

Very nice resort,it is a little out of the way but we hired a car for the two weeks so not a problem for us, the buses do run past 50 cents either way.

The resort entertainment was good plenty of things to do, we did cosmic bowling which was good fun, lots of water sports and went to the waterpark, an excellant day out for the whole family.

The beaches are not great in Paphos but there is a nice beach in Coral bay just down the road.

We would defintely go back again.

Paphos is a very pretty resort, particularly the seafront and harbour area. It is a very clean resort, with regular evidence of refuse collection and street cleaning.There is plenty to see and do in resort, from archaeological sites and the Paphos Aquarium, to a water park & go kart track on the edge of town. The shopping in Paphos is excellent, and not too expensive, with good quality jewellery, clothing and shoes. The selection of shops is wide with very helpful staff, most with good English. The beaches on resort are clean and well appointed, although one or two of the toilets do leave something to be desired! All in all a great resort for families, couples of all ages and singles looking for a fun time.Definitely worth a visit (or four in our case!) Roll on next year!

We love Paphos and will always return when we can. But we\ are under no illusions as to its shortcomings. It can be scruffy. It can be untidy. It can be very expensive. But we know the bits we like and stick to them for a very happy low cost time there.

Paphos is a great resort for couples particularly. Not too noisy, but plenty of bars & clubs for when you want them.
The shops are typical, t-shirts by the dozen. Worth hiring a car to get out and about. although the bus service is excellent when you want to go to the market or to the best beach in the area at Coral Bay.

The resort of Paphos suits us.

There is a small safe beach opposite the hotel we use and of course Coral Bay is only a ½ hour, 50cent bus ride away, both of these beaches are clean tidy beaches. Water sports are available at several of the beach side hotels.

We like being able to walk down to the harbour and around by the lighthouse where there is another beach with sun beds, umbrellas and a small taverna. Then we head inland to the road and walk back or get the bus.

Cyprus is no different to most Greek Islands in that it usually looks “tatty” with its fair amount of litter and general rubbish around.

Paphos seems to cater for most age groups. There is Bar Street, with its clubs and bars that doesn’t really get going until 10pm. There is an enormous number of very good restaurants to eat at, I think you could probably eat in a different one each night of the year! You get the fish and chip restaurants, others where you can get English fayre, but the best are the ones serving the Cypriot dishes – just writing about it makes my mouth water!!!

Obviously everyone has their favourites and we eat in only 4 or 5 during our stay.

We went on the 20th October and found the resort to be fairly quiet. Every where was still open but no husle and busle.

The resort was well laid out and kept clean. Lots of shops and they did not hassle you, which was nice.

Plenty of historical sites to visit nearby and they are worth the visit

The beaches were very small and there was lots of stones and rocks about, but were clean

Meals in the tavernas we went to were good and very reasonably priced, even the wine. Our favourite was "Viva Cyprus" opposite the Almyra Hotel on Poseidonos Avenue. Lovely meals and friendly.

A bus ride to Coral bay in the evening and eat at "Seriani", if you can get a table, is also recommended.

We found that drinks in the bars were expensive, especially shorts, CY£2.50 for 3ccs. Best to buy a bottle of local wine for CY£6.00

The restaurants in Bar Street are excellant. The resort was clean with plenty to occupy your time. Local beaches are few and far between but the watersport activities are very good.Would definately visit again.

Paphos is like any med resort, litter,poor standards of hygine, but a good bus and taxi service, i think that them becoming mmebers of the EU then this will change, but some how this adds to the charm of the place, one place we had a drink in we looked at the wiring going to the television and there was an extension lead with four double adaptors plugged in to them but you have to take the place for what it is, most of the locals are friendly and accomadating, around the harbour it was a bit intimidating with the drunks and the locals staring and shouting out in Cypriot at you but that happens everywhere!.

The resort was excellent. The nightlife was great. It was quiet where we were staying, but just fifteen minute walk away, their were karaoke bars, restaurants and internet cafes, as well as clubs. It was lovely.

The beach was reasonable as well.

The people were so friendly.

I can't wait till I go back next year.

This is our 2nd visit to Paphos & we loved it both times. The only downside is the beaches on this side of the island are probably the worst I've been to in Europe, not very big, shelves quite sharply and full of cigarette butts, charming! There are numerous restaurants, shops and bars, loads to do. Definitely more of a families & couples resort. Cyprus on the whole is quite pricey, I'd say the same as here, some places dearer (eg don't expect the same prices as say Spain or Portugal). I'd recommend October for a visit as the weather is usually perfect, around 80-90F & not too busy anywhere. Waterpark was good, as was browsing the gold/diamond shops! Highly recommended.

The nearest resort to our hotel was Coral Bay...fairly typical in terms of entertainment & bars etc, but the beach was absolutely filthy. No evidence of regular raking, cleaning or any sense of civic pride. Rubbish was srtewn across the beach & sunbeds/parasols were decrepit - pinched from various bars/hotels & rusty/faded/dirty.

Even UK beaches are cleaner. What a shock.

We stayed a short bus ride outside Paphos, which is what I would recommend to those who don't like too much hustle and bustle. Paphos is easily accessible and is best visited if you ask me rather than staying there. The harbour area is very pleasant and there's a reasonable amount of sightseeing to be had. Plenty of reasonable standard restaurants also. But there's a few too many tourist traps for my taste. All in all very pleasant and I would recommend it, but for a week/10 days at most.

We went late October early November and the weather was brilliant sunshine all the time we where there.

The resort was very clean and tidy looking, with plenty of nightly entertainment for all.

The beach was clean as was the sea, though there wasn't much beach to speak off.

This was our second visit to Cyprus although our first proper holiday to Paphos, and Yes we will be coming back......

I liked Paphos having stayed the year before, thats why we decided to get married there.

The only downside is is the lack of beaches in the resort but the pubs and clubs made up for that at night.

Lovely resturants and a brilliant Indian! I would visit but in a few years time

Paphos has a good ballance of features for however you want to enjoy your holiday. There are nightclubs, bars, restaurants, tavernas, beaches, markets, places of historical interest and beautiful countryside... What more could you want?
Paphos is a destination where you can tailor your holiday to suit you.

I thought Paphos was great. Lots of restaurants and things to see and do. Coral beach was a bit of a disappointment though - I have seen better beaches in Ireland. And it was covered in cigarette butts. I loved the Cypriot people though - so friendly and welcoming and they all made a fuss of our little boy.

Visit Paphos town, the indoor market and sit at one of the snack bars/restaurants that look out over the surrounding area and sea. It is lovely.

The resort had plenty of restaurants and bars to keep you spoiled for choice. A Chinese restaurant( I think it was called Chloes) on the main street was fantastic and the service superb.

The beach area was not brilliant and I think not very good for children. However, a few miles away is Coral Bay which had a lovely beach and very safe for children.

I would advocate that if you wanted to hire a car, then have a four wheel drive,otherwise you may not be able to get to some of the attractions,eg; Adonis baths and waterfalls and the peninsular.

There are many historical sites in easy driving distance.

The resort we stayed in was lovely we would definitely go back again.

Not too impressed with the beach if you want a nice sandy beach it's about 20 mins walk away and even then it's private so you have to sneak onto it!!!! If not short bus ride to Coral Bay which is lovely!!!

Spent all of our evenings in Bar street which caters for everyone from karaoke bars for the family to nightclubs that stay open til 6am!!!

Had a fantastic time would recommend this to anyone!

Paphos is lovely friendly place I'm amazed at how clean it's kept with all the visitors.

Places to eat are Hondras opposite Leptos estates (Wollies) beside the car park. Zsa Zsa (Opposite Aloe hotel) and there's a Thai Resturant can't remember the name (beside Zsa Zsa) buffet night Thursday is really impressive house red is lovely.

Didn't go to beach as it was to hot to walk about during the day.

Have already booked flights/accomodation for 2005. Yasoo !!

Clean and tidy but a bit cracked around the edges, footpaths with bits missing.
Expensive!!! but I think prices will lower now they've joined the EU.
Food in restaurants was fabulous if expensive.

Generally the resort is clean and the standard of sewage disposal would appear to be appropiate as no sanitary objects etc... are washed up on the beach, as can be the case in other resorts.The beach in the town consists of a small strip of sand and the rest is rocks it is not suitabale for children. However a ten minute journey will take you to coral bay which is a nice sandy beach but there are a few rocks to watch out for in the water.Entertainment is good if you like karoke and discos and there are endless places to eat and drink. But I would have liked a bit more traditional entertainment and that was hard to find.
There are loads of historical sites to visit and also modern waterparks and amusements. Should not comme home without hiring a jeep to visit the Troodos mountains, the secenery is wonderful.

Very nice area, has lost some charm over the years, but isn't that call progress?

Paphos was interesting and we would definately recommend a trip to the Mosaics - fascinating !
We also went on a Jeep Safari into the mountains - which was easily the best day of the holiday.

Cyprus is a building site. Get a car and travel to the hills, akamas peninsular, and walk on the forest tracks. Lovely. Otherwise the country side is being built on, a bit like the costas 20 years ago.
Make sure you stay in a beach side hotel, and pay extra for a sea view, otherwise the road noise will get you.

My 3rd time to Cyprus, 1st time to Paphos. Very impressed with the resort. Very good restaurants and bars. Because it's 9 months since I visited I can't remember many restaurant names but there's a couple of very good ones in the Harbour and I can recommend the Demetra restaurant. My personal favourite was the Manhatten.

It was just dead purely because of the time of year, I went late March/Early April and things pick up significantly after Easter.

Plenty to see, there's a lot of historic sights around Paphos, there's the harbour and beach etc. Hire a car (motorbike in my case) and explore the surrounding regions. The views approaching Aphrodite's rock are particularly impressive. Careful though in the National Park Reserve area as as we got hopelessly lost and it must have been 3 hours before we saw another person who luckily was a local fisherman and so we followed him back to a main road, which took us about 20 mins. The dirt bikes were on fumes by then.....

Locals in Paphos are generally polite and friendly, although a few of the waitresses could do with smiling a bit more.

Nicosia is also a must, also the green line around Famaghusta although that may be too far for many people.
Troodos mountains aren't too far from Paphos, you must see them.

I'd thoroughly recommend Paphos and hope to return in May 2005 when it will be warmer and more importantly busier!

There is alot of building work going on in Cyprus at the moment and it resembles a large building site.

We went to Paphos in November and it was very quiet.

Paphos town was also dead at night.

As this resort is still being developed there was a lot of waste ground and piles of rubble about. Although we did visit in December in the middle of some really bad winds and storms which did nothing to help the way it looked.

There are plenty of bars/pubs if you go towards the harbour and most of these are English or Irish ones.

We didn't see much of the beach due to rough sea and quite big waves - there is a fabulous bar virtually on the beach where you can watch the waves crashing about.

Paphos town is asolutely stuffed with history jewellery shops and cafes.
The harbour is charming. It's only a short bus ride from the hotel. well worth a visit

This is my second visit to Papos which is generally clean and well looked after. It is advertised as an all year round resort, but due to dropping visitor numbers in winter more bars and restaurants where closed rather than open. I also found it more expensive than last year. I cannot really comment on the beaches as, like last year the weather really isn't beach weather you are lucky to get a couple of warm sunny days during a weeks stay and when it is overcast it is quite cold.I would not go again

Bus service frequent, stops outside hotel, cost 50p no matter what distance. Paphos harbour archaelogical site well worth a visit.

The area where this Hotel is, is very quiet, clean and a good walk from town, which suits us. There is a bus stop just outside and the service is regular, and cheap. Local pubs seemed very friendly. The beach is clean, if a bit rocky.

I found Paphos to be a lovely place and would definately visit again. However we did visit coral beach on recommendation of others and I can honestly say I was thoroughly disappointed as the beach is filthy.

Litter everywhere broken bottles, condoms, tampons, not an ideal place to sit with your children. Needless to say I would never go to that beach again.

Water park in Paphos was brilliant very clean not too expensive either for food and drink.

Paphos itself is very good once you find where everything is. We will go back this year but no to the Eleni but nearer to town.

The resort of Paphos is very friendly and there is something for everyone.

The harbour is very pretty and has many restaurants, souvenir shops and boat trips. The entrance to the archaelogical ruins and mosaics are near the fortress on the harbour and they are magnificent.

The Tomb of the Kings is also nearby. The entrance fees are very reasonable and a good half day can be spent visiting them.

The markets are well worth a visit and the shops are numerous. The water park is a magnet for young and old alike. The bus services are very frequent and go all over the town.

Everything is set up for the English holidaymaker but prices tend to be higher than in Yorkshire.

The resort was clean and free from graffetti, in some areas the drains did pong a bit, but you almost expect this. You do not find piles of rubbish lying around as in some resorts.

The resort has varied entertainment, there are lots of very good quality restaurants to go too( Les Amis out of the hotel to the right is a great restaurant good value and very friendly staff ), a wide choice of bars some for the younger drinkers and plenty that are family orientated.

We had a night at the new bowling alley last year which was great (and lovely and cool), there is also the small aquariam which is worth a visit.

There is entertainment for all and with a family it is a resort where you comfortable. The beach at the hotel is not the best we have been on but it is kept clean, the water is fairly safe for the kids and there is a good choice of watersports that are good value and very well run.

Yes we would visit the resort again

We didn't visit much of Paphos but when we did there's lots to do and see, and if you like shopping theres some good shops and theres even a Mango,and Next.

Also if you miss the English food there's also a McDonalds and Pizza Hut in the City Centre.

It was low season and consequently many places were closed but you could tell that it would be "buzzing" during the high season

We stayed in Pathos for 1 week. I do not rate it as a holiday resort at all. There are no beaches as to speak of. We were fed up with the time share people. The only shops we saw were all property developers and car hire. We found the resort very expensive. We hired a car for 4 days which was quite cheap and a blessing because after the first day we would have gone mad because there was nothing to do. We drove to Coral Bay and some of the Villas are beautiful but they use the surroundings as a rubbish dump.

I love Paphos, and have been there several times. It has just the right balance - little beaches, lots of bars and restaurants. Suitable for either an active or restful holiday. It is getting expensive there though, but not enough to put me off! I am going to the Annabelle this year.

There is nothing do to do in this resort but be bored for the length of your stay.

Lovely spot for doing nothing, great places to visit.

Everywhere is reasonably close

This is a remote resort some 10 mins from Pafos by local bus.

There are a couple of local restaurants,a supermarket a souvenir shop and car hire shop in the vicinity.

Mainly rocky headland with a beach at the hotel based around the sea lagoon pool. No discos, just a very pleasant location based in the middle of a banana plantation

Myself, my sister and 2 friends travelled to Cyprus in April last year, and I have to say it was the best holiday I have ever been on.

The weather was fantastic the culture is amazing the people are so friendly and there is so much to do.

We were very near to the most amazing row of restaurants, shops and bars you will ever see. There was a local bus stop that run quite frequently and it took about 20 minutes to get into Paphos town and 15 minutes to get to Coral bay, which is the most beautiful beach resort, with (again) lots of watersport activities.

I would definitely rate this hotel and holiday 100/100 - I am now even considering moving to Paphos near Aquasol village as they are building the most beautiful houses.

We loved the resort.

There is any amount of lovely restaurants and plenty of bars that stretch all along the coast to the harbour. The night life can be as quiet or lively as you want.

The beaches dont live up to much in Paphos but a short ride to nearby Coral Bay and you'll find a gorgeous beach.

As we were there in December, not too much was going on apart from mega road works in Paphos where they were relaying sewers. Typical build new hotels and then deal with the sewerage!

Quite at this time of year, still plenty of small bars and restaurants open, think Disco's only open at the weekends for the locals.

Tourists mainly of an older age group at this time of year

As we were here in March the Resort wasn't fully open but there was still lots to see and do. Plenty of historic interest and the harbour area was always busy. Carnival was there and it was really good. Weather was upper 60's and beautiful sunshine for most of the time. We loved this holiday and wouldn't hesitate to go back

This resort is fantastic, it's not your rave night resort but it's fantastice for couples, families and the more mature type of visitor.

The beaches are great and have all of the amenities you need whilst on the beach. There is something for everybody in this resort.

So good were going back again this year.

There is a lot of building going on in Phaphos. Both in building and roads.

There is no real beach of sand, just rocks

Needed a bit more life but hey! it was winter.

Had a blast anyway.

And will go again next year, but in the summer.

In our opinion, Paphos is the best resort. It is local to all the archaeological sites (most within walking distance of our hotel).

The entertainments were numerous and varied, even though it was the beginning of the season. The old town of Paphos is very beautiful, as is the harbour, and the shopping facilities are second to none (unfortunately)!!

The beach is rather shingly but the swimming pools in the hotels are open to non-residents so there is a great variety. Also, the Coral Bay Beach is only a short bus ride away and this is sandy. The restaurateurs and their staff are among the friendliest we have ever met and we have travelled quite extensively.

The restaurants in the resort area are very mixed, with Indian, Chinese, Japanese, English, Italian and, naturally, Greek-Cypriot. We dined in both Rigas and Zorbas. We found Rigas very good with a very friendly atmosphere and staff. At Zorbas there was that little bit extra. The food was superb, both in quality and quantity.

Nandes and his family were most welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Arriving in the restaurant at 8 and leaving at 1am cannot be bad. We cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. In fact, of the 7 nights we were in Paphos, we ate in Zorbas for 6 of them and, hopefully, when we go back, we will eat there for most of the next holiday.

There is always something different and the atmosphere, food, staff and surroundings are more than conducive to a good night out. We also find that if you go where the locals (and the 'local' tourists) go - you cannot go wrong and, on this occasions, we were certainly proved right. If you are in Paphos do not miss Zorbas.

We were just of the main road between Paphos harbour and Coral Bay. There is a liberal sprinkling of bars, restaurants, clubs, shops and banks. Unfortunately the majority of the bars ran similar programmes and so you did get to recognise the "professional" pub quizzers, bingo addicts, Kareoke kings and queens and of course the party animals as you moved from one bar to the next.

Nice place to relax and have a good time but also convenient enough to get to the hustle and bustle of bar street in the harbour area.

All bars restaurants so not a pretty place. It’s quite expensive, you need to hire a car and get out into the countryside it's the nicest part of the holiday.

Paphos is a very nice place for a winter holiday. Especially the top town where there is a daily market, nice cafes and restaurants. Visited an excellent Internet Cafe which is next door the police station - called Maroushia. There is also one in the beach area opposite Moorings Cafe. Also vgd Opticians - great choice and I also met the Paphos Pelican at last - snoozing outside the Pelican Cafe down at the harbour where the Fort is.

You must also try the Penguino Icecream parlour.

Things have changed since Cyprus entered the EU with prices going up but still value for money and very busy in the winter months.

Also visited the Paphos Bird Park booked via local travel agent which is supberb if you like parrots, donkeys, giraffes and a great half day trip in beautiful surroundings where I would definitely go back for a 2nd visit just to see how the donkeys are getting because 3 of the females were pregnant...

Paphos is a beautiful quiet resort.

The locals are all very friendly. There is so much to do in the area and we hired a jeep so we could see as much of the Island as possible. Troodos is a must.

I would strongly recommend Paphos to those who like a quieter holiday.

God bless the Friendship bar as word of mouth spreads this will become the place to be in Paphos, sadly as it becomes commercialized so the appeal and flavour of this wonderful establishment will diminish

Pathos is a lovely place with lots to do from those who like to relax to those that like to club.

Beach is ok sore on your feet because of the shingle and no good for children because sea is rough and gets deep very suddenly

Paphos itself is lovely. I found the harbour a bustling place to be, the restaurants here were great and the prices were cheap for the amount of food you got. There are plenty of bars to offer and lots of entertainment also. We will be visiting Paphos again next year.

Stayed for 1 week, went on a few trips, the "FUN BUS" is worth a go, bus service is very frequent and cheap 60p a ride regardless of where you go, all common areas are clean and full of flowers, footpaths are all along the beach from the hotel to the castle a good 2 mile walk and very pleasnt. all in all it is a good place for adults.

Pafos is nice much more spread out if you have ever been to Protaras its not the same as there.

Bar street can be very noisey during high season if you go later on like we did its just nice.

Plenty of shops and supermarkets car hire shops etc

The harbour has some very nice places to eat worth the trip down.

Something for everyone.

There are some wonderful eating places in Paphos, in particular Lichnari (you'll love Christos!), The Old Pub Restaurant and Rimini. There's also a lively nightclub area.

We really enjoyed a stroll down to the harbour for our evening meal (and a taxi back!). There's a massive market and plenty of places of interest such as the Tomb of the Kings, Polis, and Coral Beach.

We went in September and the temperature was still in the 30's!

Went to the market and harbour in Phapos had a enjoyable day. The local people are so friendly also went on the local karting track also the staff are friendly and helpful. We are considering to booking again for 2 weeks next time.

Lots of building work going on in Paphos, so it is dusty. But no litter problem.

Loads of bars and restaurants. Outsiders were welcome in various hotels, so I imagine there would be something for everyone.

We had a beautiful beach near us. They've put walls of rocks offshore in some places, to stave off the flow of seaweed. But the beaches smell really nice -- good sea air.

There is plenty to do in Paphos for the more mature "historical" holiday maker. With children you would have to do a bit of travelling.

Georges FUN BUS made our stay, and delighted the yeenager, would go again and again.DON'T miss this, worth every penny.

Did not use the beach much,though they were very clean,clear water.

Hundreds of eating places and all we tried were of high standard, and value for money.

Outside the complex there are 2 restaurants, 1 shop and at time there was a bar opening up.

The first restaurant you come to is expensive and we hardly saw anyone in there.

The second restaurant was reasonably priced so we eat in there a few times.Helpful staff.

The shop is quite good but it is better to jump on the bus to pafos and get off at the Roman Hotel and go to the large supermarket as full range of food, inc baby milk, nappies etc.


there is a bus stop outside the apartments one going to Coral Bay and the other side of the road going to Pafos.

The buses run every 15 min or so and great if you wish to go to pafos.There is a market in Pafos i think every night, try the local doughnuts, lovely.

We went to Coral Bay one night and to be honest was not impressed.Food very expensive than the restaurants next to ou apartments.

Good resort, only small beaches near the harbour. Plenty of places to eat. For the children, McDonalds, Pizza Hut and KFC. Good shops for gifts, such as leather and pottery. Would visit Paphos again.

Walk into Paphos any morning, and you will see the fronts of the restaraunts, bars and shops being washed down and prepared for the day ahead, and the street cleaners are busy cleaning up the litter, left behind by us english tourists the night before.

Moving around Paphos you will find the entertainment you like within a few days, and like a magnet will draw you back, again and again.

if you walk down from leda gardens in a straight line, you can get down to the (municipal) beach and from there turn right along the beach into the town area, or left as if you were heading towards the airport, the water remains quite shallow, so its safe for kids to paddle, and there are plenty of cafes both ways for drinks and food

Paphos is a wonderful place catering for all types of holiday maker. Can't wait to go again!

Paphos is very classy. Harbour area by day is great seeing all the activity and the shops. very hot because it's sheltered from any breeze in some places.
By night it is still classy with excellent variety of restaurants and bars without being tacky. Didn't see many of the "football shirt" brigade thank goodness.
On the whole a very enjoyable place to stay.

Oh! didnt realise there was more, I can only repeat, Paphos is lovely, so much to see if you like history and archealogical sites.

The weather was beautiful no grey skies or cold and rain like England. Food was good everywhere, and must just say again that the bakery up the road was a real boon, hot pasties and marvelous sandwiches and great value for money.

Would also recommend the kohinor indian restaurant and seven st georges tavern if you want to try the local fare. Went on georges fun bus, and had an excellent time, would really recommend that day out, laughed till i cried... going again next year.

Paphos is a friendly resort with loads of restaurants and bars. The harbour area in particular is picturesque, but the fish restaurants along there are rather expensive.

Good resort for walking around.

Beach is not up to much, being manmade, but nearly all properties have pools, so not really necesary to find the beach.

Car hire is a good idea for exploring the villages and area north of Paphos.

The resort is clean and is for all ages.

The harbour area of Paphos was very nice. In the old town there were a lot of shops similar to those which can be found in England. There are very few beaches that are not just rocky.

Nice picturesque resort. Not too busy and not to quiet. Plenty to see and do. Good cheap eateries and most of all the sun shone all day everyday.

We had a hire car from the airport and booked before we left, we felt it was worth it because the back roads from the hotel to Paphos is much quicker than the coastal road. It took only 10 minutes to drive down to the harbour. Also they drive on the same side of the road as here in the UK. Also you can tour the island at your own speed, and stop in the enchanting villages as you eventually end up in Trodos.

Paphos town centre is very congested, the harbour area particularly, however there is an excellent free car park right on the harbour front.

The shopping in this area is very touristy, the usual sun creams, hats, tea shirts. The one thing that we did do this year is to purchase glasses. We had an excellent free eye test in one of the many opticians in the area, and purchased designer frames a lot cheaper than in UK.

Upper Paphos is a must to visit, the local market selling all the local produce, lovely scenery around whilst walking, as the market is at the top of a steep hill, the bus takes you straight there.

This is our 7th time to Paphos and we would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a home from home In the Sun!

Pathos is expanding drastically and building works are in operation from Coral Bay to the airport, so clutter and eyesores can be accepted. The coastal stretch is relatively untouched as there are very few decent beaches available. Lighthouse beach was dirty when we visited, lots of rubbish, seaweed and flies, with very coarse sand. Alternatively, Coral Bay is the most beautiful well kept beach we have ever come across to date, a must to anyone who has not had a day there. Bliss, that is why the mark of 5 was given. If you can make the journey, Polis and Latchi make equally good days out, and everyone should reward themselves with a trip up the Troudos Mountains.

The entertainment was excellent from the lively bars and Disco's near the harbour which cater for the young at heart, to the numerous local Cypriot bars and restaurants, scattered all the way to Coral Bay.

We can not praise this area of western Cyprus highly enough, as it is now. The pending acceptance to the EU, and proposed unification with Turkish Northern Cyprus, may make it a less financially acceptable holiday, as over the past years there has been a notable increase in prices for food and goods.

Enjoy it while you can, your too long dead!

Not much to do unless you go into Phapos, didn't rate Coral Bay but it did make me think the beaches in Scarborough took some beating

Pathos is so clean and friendly

Although I never went to the beach I do recommend it...the people that we made friends with said it's clean and spacious.

AS we where all inclusive we cannot comment about the resort apart from that it was clean and friendly.
We did not use the resort entertainment .

Resort has a lot to offer for all ages,families and singles a like. Lots of different restaurants to choose from and food every food.

We booked the Alexander the Great as we were getting married in Paphos at St Georges Church and wanted a central location.

The wedding was fantastic we even had our reception on board a luxury yacht from paphos harbour. This hotel is in a brilliant location and a 10 minute walk takes you down to the shops, bars,restaurants and harbour.

There didnt appear to be much entertainment in the resort like you find in other holiday destinations although we were never short of things to do.

If going to paphos definatley consider this hotel.

The resort of Kato Paphos has something for everyone. There are plenty of bars and restaurants and lots to see and do. If you want a beach holiday then this is not the place to visit.

The hotel is about 10/15 min bus ride from the harbour and 20/25 min from the market area.

Apart from a few hotels in the area the only other thing near the hotel is the water park 10 min walk. You must go it is a good day out , we also tried the 4wd to the troodos mountains excellent day out, bit hairy at times but good fun.

Oh yes the beach there isnt one, but try a canoe or pedalo the bay is quite safe and the water clean.

Tip dont book with the hol reps you can book any trip cheaper if you look around.

'Bar Street' has uncountable bars/eating places/nightclubs.

About 15 minutes from the Mayfair.

Similarly Tomb of the Kings Road 15 minutes walk on turning right out of the hotel, with more bars.

Harbour 20 minutes walk.

Best beach is Coral Bay but you will need a car/bus/taxi to get there.

Large waterpark a bus ride away and plenty of trips available to Troodos Mountains/Limassol/Nicosia.

My 2nd visit to Paphos & I will be going back.

We only went into Pathos town twice due to wedding etc. Bars etc varied from ultra trendy to traditional. All good and modern with a varierty of music catering for all. Some really good restaraunts!

Beaches nice a variety of sand and shingle.

Would definitely go back tommorrow!!!

Resort is only 20 -25 mins away from airport so nice and short transfer after a long flight.
All the people who work in paphos are really lovely and are very polite...Love families with young kids. Most eating places have a kids menu so if you've got a fussy eater who will only eat chicken nuggets you're in luck!!
Its a lovely place to visit - plenty to do and see.
We didn't visit the beach as the pool at the hotel was great, the beach is only a five minute walk away if you want to visit.
Loads of nice eating places, cafes and bars we didn't have any bad food or poor service at all during our week stay.
We had a great week there and I would go back to Paphos tomorrow.

Paphos has still retained it's Cypriot charm despite it becoming more commercial over the years. We first visited for our honeymoon in 1992 and although it has changed it still has good restaurants and places to visit.

Paphos is fantastic for history. Our 8 year old loved the Roman mosaics depicting Greek mythology and the Tombs of the Kings (great for a game of Star Wars, apparently!). The castle on the harbour is also worth a visit. It is only 75c. for adults and free for children to each of these sites, which makes it a lot cheaper than visiting a National Trust property back home!

You are spoilt for choice when eating out. We found the Seagull restaurant before the start of the harbour good for food. Family run and friendly, you could look out over the Med eating your kebab!

Don't miss your visit to Ermes (previously Woolies) near the harbour. Great for iced coffees, and wine etc, is cheaper here than at the local shop.

Buses were frequent (sometimes 3 at once - just like home - and then none for 25 minutes), but you got to your destination sooner or later. The market is worth a visit in the old town for a morning and a trip to the bird park near Peyia is also good. The waterpark was okay but not as good as Waterworld at Ayia Napa. We found the staff to be a bit grumpy and it was not as clean or as well run as the Ayia Napa one. But do visit Island Cove mini golf (near the Waterpark). Great fun and beautifully kept.

Nice enough resort with a balance of family and late night entertainment. Dont go Half Board - too many nice, reasonable priced restaurants with excellent choice, cypriot, english, chinese, indian, McD's/Pizza Hut etc.

Harbour ok, pretty quiet, decent shops in Old Town, but dont forget the currently poor exchange rate, no real bargains to be had.

Would visit again, but not for a good few years.

We were here for May to June - for three weeks.

In our last week we noticed it was getting busier and rowdy. Lots of broken glass and vomit down Bar Street, and lots of stag do's, but if it's not for you, then it is easy to avoid.

Had lovely food in Manhattans. And El Sombero.
Tried to avoid restaurants touting for custom, as the ones we did eat in were not very nice.

Only saw one timeshare tout, so that was good.

Resort was nice but beaches were mainly shingle although coral beach is only half an hour away and buses are frequent and cheap.Bar street is the main area for entertainment with clubs and disco bars.

Need pavements. Restaurants ok the best we found was Black Eagle they were friendly and always made you feel welcome food very nice.

The beach around Paphos is not good, Coral Bay better.

If you want water sports Paphoswatersports on the beach reasonable prices for boat trips and paragliding and jetskis

Paphos Harbour location is lovely to vist night or day. There is always something to sit and watch.

The hotel is the nearest to the airport but there isnt a problem with aircraft noise.

There is a bus stop outside to take you to Paphos harbour which takes approx 5 to 10 mins, and are regular.

We thought Paphos was quiet and sophisticated, until we met up with some friends and found "Bar street" one long street full of bars and discos, very lively and not too expensive.

Paphos is very disjointed place, old bits, new bits, roadworks allsorts. The old town by the harbour is nice, it looks good at night. We visited the market in the main town but really not much else to see there. The tomb of the kings is worth a look even though no kings were actually buried there. The beach at Coral bay is nice but the sand is very hot.Two sunbeds and a brolly cost £3.75.The bus from our resort was only 70 cents and was air conditioned.
There are plenty of bars and restaurants on the Tomb of the Kings Road. Everything from Irish to Thai.All the food we tryed was of a good standard. And all very reasonably priced. Starters £3 and main courses about £6. Souveniers were quite expensive for anything decent. I would say it is better to get a good hotel here with its own beach as the municipal beach is a bit rough.With porta cabin toilets.
All in all an Ok place to stay.

Pafos harbour seemed to be without Timeshare Touts, and was quite pleasant once again to walk around without the continual harassment.

Resort seemed suprisingly clean.

As we stayed all inclusive we did not eat out in the local restaurants. There were bars and restaurants further along the road from our hotel and hundreds in the harbour and market area. Freshly squeezed orange juice at £1.50 a glass was excellent value.

If you are home sick you can buy all the English newspapers or eat in Mcdonalds, Pizza Hut or KFC. I believe that there are also fish & chip shops!

If you enjoy retail therapy head to the market in the morning. There are lots of linen, leather goods, natural sea sponges, honey as well as booze/fags. You can also shop in Ermes ( Debenhams), M&S, Dorothy Perkins, Mothercare and United Colours of Benneton.

Car hire is from £30 a day for a jeep. Mopeds also available. We ventured out on the buses and there are many English bus drivers.

Lots to see and do on Cyprus including trips to Epypt by sea or air.

We stayed outside of Pathos at St George's Garden's Hotel -last visited pathos around 12 years ago - more developed since this - disappointed with amount of debries left by developers.

Plenty of live music taking place in bars throughout the resort and down the coast leading to our hotel - and it was also good to hear some good old fashioned Cyprus music.

Beaches poor - very rocky due to the nature of the island.

Cyprus takes a bit of getting used to and was not what we expected. The beaches aren't great and the sand is a bit gritty. Beaches in the area are small. This was not really a problem for us as we just walked into Paphos to the harbour, caught a bus or just stayed round the hotel. It was very hot when we were there with clear blue skies. We caught a bus outside the hotel to Coral Bay - this is a larger beach with a blue flag. There were sunbeds to hire there and a lot of people swimming in the sea. We were disppointed to find rubbish on the beach though so we weren't that impressed with it. When you catch a bus back make sure you check with the driver it's going where you want to - we ended up at the market and had to change buses! Bus fare is a flat rate either 60 cents or 70 cents depending which service you use.

We visited the world heritage site at Paphos harbour - not at all what we were expecting from the front - well worth the CY£1.50 it cost to get in. One word of warning it covers a large area and is very open so make sure you take a hat and plenty of water in with you. May not be suitable for the less able or young children.

The resort of Paphos was faily clean, the only problem we found is when you go for a walk the pavement would end and you would be left on a dirt track. Also the resort isn't well lit in the night which left us feeling a little unsafe especially arould the Eleni complex as there didn't seam to be anyone out walking at night.

Paphos doesn't really have beaches and the sea is really rocky which made it unsafe for children

expected it to be a bit more lively for the time of year but that suited us.cleanliness fine. we were disappointed at the standard of the beaches. plenty of water sports.we found it rather expensive but this was our first time in cyprus.we would visit paphos again and probably do more site seeing.

If you don't go anywhere else during your stay in Paphos you must pay a visit to Fat Mama's (Italian restaurant located on the main road towards Paphos harbour) - be warned meals are served large but to a very high standard at reasonable prices.
Resort offered excellent shopping, especially for jewellry and leather goods. We found Greek Cypriot people all very polite and welcoming. We are looking forward to going back again soon!

Paphos is a great place to go for all ages.

The water park is great fun for all and the restraunts can be as dear or cheap as you like.

Shopping is great but dont buy from the first shop as you generally find that its cheaper in other ones.

Most things are written in English. They drive on the same side of the road and its the same voltage so you dont need to take an adapter.

The beaches arent that great but you can go to Coral Bay on the bus(you need to take a t-shirt as they wont let you on the bus if you dont).

We will go back to this resort as it was great for the kids as well as adults.

Paphos is ideal for couples and families. We've only stayed during early season, I'm sure once Bar Street get's going further into the season, it would suit teenagers and 20-somethings too.

Restaurant recommendation is Michael's two streets harbour-way from Aloe Hotel. Good Greek and Euro food, large hot portions, speedy and friendly service. Warning: meze comes in full-sized portions, never saw anyone finish all courses.
Also Fat Mammas on Tomb of Kings Road is very entertaining as waitresses do routines every hour.

Whilst there's plenty to do in the resort, hiring a car's better. We hired from Easy Rentacar, while they may be ripping off the Easy name, they don't rip off customers giving good value/service and reliable cars. Cypriot drivers are fast but very courteous, they will let you pull out in front of them and although they appear to cut one another up there's no aggression - it's just expected.

Favourite places - Aphridite's Birthplace, great for sea swimming; Kykkos, peaceful; Kourion, good views; and Akamas to get away from it all. Most disappointing - Time Capsule in Limissol, although fun, expensive and doesn't really tell you anything about Cyprus history. Aphrodite's Baths - yukky, Tomb of Kings - holes in the ground

The waterpark is small and may get very busy in high seasons but has everything you need. If possible take watershoes as there's no protective matting on the ground and the concrete's so hot it will cause first degree burns on your feet. I am NOT joking!

We stayed in Paphos right on the beach, the harbour is very pretty with shops and bars, boat trips are offered, we were warned about time share touts but were only aproached once during the week we were there.Pahos itself is clean and has some stunning veiws,there are many water sports on offer too.
A visit to the market is a must and we had some bargians, watches , a ring and bangle.The food is excellent.
The people are friendly and very helpful.I would definatley return to Paphos,I did not want to leave.

Non exiastent entertainment unless you like the YMCA continually playing. Reps were new the week we arrived!
Non beach just shuingle and rocks .Nearest berach about 4 kilometres away in Coral bay or Lara Beach about the same distance but no shade avaialable!
Would only re visit if price was right as you definatley need a car

Having been to Paphos several times before, but not since 1999, I was interested to see how much it had changed. The resort is no longer the small friendly resort it was and you have to search to find a greek speaking person amongst the ex-pats who have relocated out there. I dont blame them!
The resort still is an excellent choice for all holidaymakers. Bar Street has enough to keep even the hardened partygoers happy, the restaurants and tavernas cater for all tastes, and the accommodation varies from self-catering apartments to the most exclusive hotels which I would have felt out of place walking into!
The beach in Paphos isn't the best, but you are happy with a good hotel and pool area, it's not the highest priority and a short bus ride takes you up to Coral Bay which has a glorious sandy stretch of beach.

Levels of cleanliness were satisfactory and the entertainment was ok. The beach area had under currents therefore we did not allow the children to go there. The pool area was lovely and the children loved it.

Beach was small but nice. Sunbeds and umbrella for hire at 1.25 cyp a day. There also vending machine on the beach for a drink and something to eat. Water varies in the small local shops( 1.95 cyp for 6x1litres bottles). Food was nice especially Jo's diner which was on the same side as Leda Gardens about 5 minute stroll. Stongly recommend Rack of ribs, Chicken Curry, Vegetable Soup. Local bus service was very good, all air con about 0.60-0.70 cyp per person.

The resort has several regions each with its own array of bars and restuarants which offered a wide variety of entertainment depending on which type of holiday you were looking for.The beach was soft sand with ample room between the sun loungers .

The resort of Paphos is excellent and caters for all. The tomb of the kings and the mosques are well worth a visit and kids are free.

The Paphos water park is good but a bit on the smaller scale than the one in Limassol. The bird park is good with a free bus available from the hotel on certain days.

To save money book your trips round the corner at anesis tours they are exactly the same trips as the reps offer you but a lot cheaper we went on 3 trips with anesis which were very good and saved nearly £100.

There are plenty of restraunts and bars a short walk from the hotel anything from local food to fish and chips, italian, mexican, indian and chinese.

The beach which is about 10 mins walk from the hotel is a bit rocky and not good for swimming the best beach is a bus ride away to coral bay.

The only thing which was a pain was the usual time share touts especially along the harbour and scattered about the resort, my husband and me soon learned to walk a short distance apart as they mainly stop couples, after we started this we were'nt approached again with the are'nt you lucky scratch card scam.

Paphos is a great place for a holiday and we shall make a return trip.

The only comment I can make on the cleanliness is that its as good as at home.

Plenty of places to visit even if you need to take a bus (70 cents one way).

We visited Coral bay beach (15 mins and 70 cents by bus) fantastic beach with lots to do. Overall great place plenty to do if you look for it.

paphos is a lovely place to go to , everyone is friendly, there are lots of bars and resturants to go out to in the evening , the harbour is a lovely place to go and walk to , the food is lovely. Unfortunately we had to visit the local hospital , it was like being in a hotel !!! would recomend 100%

Paphos is a mix of old and new, a lot of building going on, many of the roads and pavements are being improved.

The main town is not very organised, you have to wander around for a while before you find the main part which we looked for for ages. Its down a small side road, but all very disjointed.

No cheap good bargains to be found, supermarkets seem to be more expensive than England. But the good side was the good food the archeological sites and quaint villages, had a superb meal in pissouri beach was stoney but I loved the village.

Another great place to go for an absolutely superb sunday roast was in another village up along the coast to peyia, down near the jail pub called sophies choice and also had a good dinner in pavaroties just near the hotel.
Expensive but the service and food was fabulous.

Loads more but the old man needs feeding. Great site very helpful.

I would definitely go back loved the apartments, pubs, clubs and people, everyone was so friendly especially some of the PR's on the doors!

If you are planning to go definitely go to Bubbles, Woody's, The Waterhole, Space and Hollywood Cocktail Bar! Wicked pubs the PR's will try to get you in everywhere but haggle with them because I did and always managed to get free drinks ha ha!

Music was always brill in every pub n club ranged from dance to RnB always loud and made the atmosphere twice as good ... this resort is definitely not for the silent lovers ... great place to go if you like a great nightlife!

Erm food ... friends .. nice place English food which is really good.

Beach hmmm there wasn't much of a beach but we decided to visit Coral bay which we got told was amazing, eventually arrived and the sun was belting down there was limited shade and we had to leg it to the beach because the sand was boiling hot. Ha ha you sort of have to jump straight in otherwise your feet will burn!

The resort itself was no too bad, not really much to do at night, a few bars and restaurants dotted around but again pretty much nothing special and not much atmosphere...

We did visit the Pafos waterpark which was the highlight of our holiday £15.00 for adults to spend all day there, loads to do and good fun!!

The resort of Paphos is a lovely place to stay and there are numerous restruants to choose from.

The old town is great for shopping and the harbour has plenty of night life if you want it. A visit to the Tombs of the Kings is well worth it and the water park a good day out.

I will be going back to Paphos for years to come.

Again very happy with the resort too - very nice italian around the corner - very very nice people and so nice to you all the time - always smiling -also a very bar with very nice food and people called the crocodile bar - well worth a visit

The resort was poor with a lot of empty lots and a fair amount of waste land. The taxis were scandalous and refused to use their meters.

We were attending a wedding, after the wedding we went on a yacht...On the yacht we realised we had left the change of clothes bag in the boot of the taxi. We phoned the Athena Beach to contact the taxi firm. A taxi at the port offered to get the bag for us, and would be back in 10 mins (at a cost of £12). We had no choice. Just after he set off he picked up a fare 100 yards down the road!!45 mins later he returned saying the traffic was bad.

This is just one example of the RIP OFF taxi drivers in Paphos. Other tourists had similar tales of woe. They are all bandits and will have you over as soon as look at you!!

The restaraunts we ate at were slightly better than poor and quite expensive...some with hidden charges.

I experienced quite a few shopkeepers/stallholders pulling strokes...Bureau de Change tried it on for £2 (its not the money its the principle!!) A restaurant offering orange juice at £1 asked my wife if she like a large glass...this turned out to be £3.50 cypriot!! thats £4.50!!!!

Oh and did I mention the taxi drivers?

We were staying outside the resort of Pathos, an area with nothing else other than a couple of hotels, and therefore when reporting on the resort it must be remembered that this is an area rather than a resort.

The beaches all around this area are not the best I have seen and are generally small sandy areas with rocky areas.

The town of Pathos is quite pleasant with a variety of restaurants and bars and a decent selection of shops.

It is a shame that the area is lacking in decent beaches because the overall standard of accommadation in the area is very good with some excellant hotels offering very good service, but never the less, it is a pleasant area to stay if you are not fussed about beaches but want good standards of hotels.

Only ventured into Paphos three times. The local Paphos Mosaics are not to be missed - ancient villas in superb condition. Restaurants and bars in town centre - food was not as good as the hotel and far more expensive. (Even on a B&B basis you can buy your evening meal in the hotel for around £8.00.) Market was disappointing.

Paphos - found ourselves bored very quickly. Did the usual tourist things like Tomb of the Kings, Mosaics, Mini Golf. Found a Bowling alley.

Great resort if you like water sports but not enough to do if you don't like water sports.

Took a trip to the Troodos mountains which was OK and went ourselves to Polis and Latchi - Latchi was lovely.

The hotel was in a good location, just slightly set back from the Tomb of the kings road but near enough to all the restaurants.

While we were there it was absolutely boiling, the taxi driver told us they were having a mini heatwave. We went to the Tomb of the Kings and it was unbearable. Either go late in the day or first thing - and take plenty of drinks!! T

The harbour and main bit of Kato Paphos was a short taxi ride away and cost £4, but there are loads of good restaurants on the Tomb of the Kings Road. Duomo, Sisyfos, Raffles - we visited.

The best one for value was Sisyfos (upstairs) 3 courses for £7.95 and I was stuffed!! We were told about Fat Mamas but there was always a queue so we never went.

Just one warning. We were collared by a guy and girl on a motorbike, giving scratch cards. Lo and behold we won a first prize. Not timeshares, just a travel agent trying to promote themselves. They whisk you off in a taxi but you have to promise to listen to 90 minute talk before you get your prize - we actually left because the kids were fed up, but because we wouldn't listen for 90 minutes didn't get anything. My opinion its a con, don't bother.

All in all, great place to go.

This hotal was a big help to me and my family as we had my sister on crutches, yself and a child!

The hotel was friendly and very helpful to my sister etc., getting up the stairs. Dont be put off by this as there is a ground level!

The entertainment for the area was excellent as there was lots of restaraunts avliable and nearby there were lots of pubs! So really Im saying the nightlife is superb for all ages!!

The beaches where excellent and very close by one of the best I thought was Coral Bay. Not very far at all just simply get on a bus for 2 miles and you are there if you dont like buses then hire a car off the hotel!!

Paphos much bigger than anticipated. Over-commercialised. Too many restaurants and places offering "English breakfast" etc. I don't go on holiday to get what I can get back home. However, very many places to visit, especially the archaeological sites. Coral Beach o.k., but can get very busy. Best beach is the Atlantida beach slightly out of Pahos in the direction of Limassol. The buses that go to the Aphrodite Waterpark (which is worth a visit), will take you there or take a taxi. It is much more up-market with a grassy area and very nice sunbeds and parasols. Limassol not worth visiting (too big), but a trip into the Troodos mountains is an experience - head for Kakopetria and have lunch in the Mill restaurant. Harbour area very nice, but don't rush into the first boat trip you're offered!

Pafos is great for families. Safe, easy to get around and plenty to do. We visited the harbour, The mosaics, Akamas peninsula. Will definitely go back

Well what can I say .. a great price and a great holiday, the best holiday in years!!

Was relaxing and peaceful but at the same time lively and fun!

The hotel was clean every day no bugs found! Good location not far from bars and town and also the food was excellent. I was full to the brim every night definitely going back next year.

Also what was a bonus the staff were the friendliest people I have met!! Can't wait for next year.

The resort had everthing we were looking for.

We found Paphos a nice resort with a wide range of pubs and restaurants in a relatively compact area.

Busy in the pedestrianised middle of town where the noisy (and young!) bars were while all along the sea front there was as wide a selection of quality eateries you could hope to find.

Having been to Protaras a couple of years ago ,we found Paphos significantly more expensive with prices similar to what you`d pay here although what you got for your Cypriot pound was top quality and plenty of it.

Maybe it was just us ,but we found the people here not quite as welcoming as on our previous visit however most of the waiting staff were not Cypriots and did not seem to have the same people skills as the locals.

The beaches in Paphos are poor but a 70cent bus fare takes you to Coral Bay if thats what floats your boat, give me a clean pool and a cool beer anytime.

Must do`s are a trip to the mosaics, (only £1.50) very open, very hot.Take plenty of water `cos once inside there is nowhere to buy a drink. Also go to the local market in town lots of good quality products as well as the usual crop of copycat designer stuff.

Will go back to Paphos in the future......without teenagers!!

Pafos itself is lovely and the people are fantastic. I would visit pafos again but in a different hotel. The beaches are lovely and there is loads to do. Fantastic place to visit

Paphos is hasn't yet suffered the commercialism of other mediteranean resorts. The coastline around Paphos is very rugged and so not suited to young families who prefer long expansive sandy beaches. That said a short trip along the coat to Coral Bay has a lovely sandy beach. The restaraunts are very good with some quite exceptional. Bar Street provides the youngsters with plenty of night life. The taxi drivers are a real mpain though forever trying to entice you into their cabs at bus stops. The bus service is excellent although once again you have to contend with some grumpy old bus drivers who were at the end of the queue when patience was handed out. Paphos is certainly a resort I would visit again.

What more can you say about Paphos, an excellent holiday destination mainly suitable for both families and couples.

Beaches are generally rocky or man made, however, a stunning sandy beach can be found at coral bay which can be reached by local bus.

The harbour area is delightful with a range of restaurants serving freshly caught fish. From the harbour you can also go on various boat trips around the area.

Restaurants provide excellent local and international dishes.

Night life is available throughout Paphos all to suit individual tastes. Bar street provides entertainment for the younger generation, but not on the scale that you would find in ayia napa, thank god.

Prices on the whole I would say are comparible to those in the UK.

All in all, Paphos is a very safe and freindly resort which people like ourseleves return to year after year.

I think that Paphos was a bit quiet from what I am used to and very expensive. There are lots of international restaurants but it is quite hard to find authentic cypriot tavernas which is a real shame.

If you are a beach lover then Paphos is not for you - you need to head to Protarus or Ayia Napa.

We found Kato Paphos to be very run down and did actually see tumble weed rolling across the paths. Just about summed the resort up!

Please try Les Amis restaurant which is right next to the Aloe, and viva cyprus restaurant which is on the way to the harbour.

We were bitterly disappointed with the restaurants around the harbour, very, very poor quality food and expensive.

Buses run every 10 mins and are very cheap and do run on time. Buy the local paper the cyprus mail it is written in a conversational way and is very entertaining.

As far as beaches are concerned we only visited the popular coral bay beach and were not that impressed.

Overall the resort is poor but the aloe hotel is good, change the entertainment and several of the staff and it would be much better.

Paphos is rip off city.....

From the prices of the taxis 4 cy for 5 minute journey to
the shops with the usual tack you get all over the med.

Eating out is grossly overpriced,and in general you can wait 20/30 mins on your bill.

The shopkeepers forgot how to smile,one would rather yap on the phone than serve people.

There is no major supermarket within walking distance and most of the small shops let things run out for days.

The car hire places we went to were a joke min hire period 3 days + deposit of 50 cy pounds for petrol which you didn't get back.

I don't recommend going in august as the heat is unbearable.

Cyprus needs a good shake if it is going to attract us back again(we were a group of 25 people.

The resort is in a good location, but the beach was a bit dangerous for children.

The entertainment in the evening was a bit lame and the lack of bar staff round the pool bar meant we had to wait up to 45 mins to be served drinks. i know we were a large party of people but at this time of year and knowing weddings take place regulary, addtional staff should be laid on. We got so fed up waiting to be served we moved to the inside bar in the reception area, where the bar staff were really friendly and we had a few good laughs with one in particular.

We had a small reception in the pool bar area on the day of the wedding and it was lovely, the food was great and service was good, so no complaints there. We did have a great wedding and holiday but i wouldn't return to this particualr resort if it was just a family holiday, but we'd pop back to say for a sex on the beach cocktail in the upper bar area!

In regards to the resort this is very clean, the roads are always swept, and not a piece of rubbish left. By the end of the night you could say the roads covered in rubbish by other tourists, and when visiting in the morning, it would once again be spotless.

Entertainment is very good in the resorts lots of karaoke bars, and the drinks are very cheap, so altogether a great night out. I went out everynight for two weeks and didnt get bored once. They have got things for all ages.

The only thing in the resort was the most local beach, this was very small and quite rocky. In order to go to a very well looked after and pleasureable beach it would be best to visit coral bay which would only cost £0.70 CYP on the bus.

But overall i would defnitely visit tis place again, so thats why i have booked to go for 3weeks next year rather than 2.

A great resort with fantastic (although some would argue expensive) restaurants.

Paphos is great it's sunny and hot. Food and drink is cheap but fantastic. The people are nice and friendly. Night life is great, I would highly recommended going to Bubbles. Coral Bay is a great beach the water is a lovely blue and also warm.

Paphos was a great resort with plenty of restaurants and bars. Something for everyone. The food was excellent. The beach was good and had a waterpark not far away. Convenient for the airport without the noise!

Cyprus isn't cheap and remember when you spend £1 cypriot you are spending roughly £1.20 sterling!

Paphos has a lot to offer, with places of historical interest to visit. Various excursions available and a trip across the Green Line to the Turkish occupied North is a must. Coral Bay is a beautiful sandy beach and the harbour is worth a visit, although not as big as I expected. The market is also worth a visit if you wish to buy souveniers for home. The smell of fresh fruit and veg is lovely.

There are plenty of places to eat out - ranging from Cypriot, Italian, Chinese, Mexican and Indian.

Not one bad meal - kids welcome every where. Demektrios is the place for Cpriot dancing and entertainment, with a good meze. Cheap and cheerful but outstanding food was Argo. For an excellent Italian, try Cappriciosa. Georgia's was good, the Mexican a favourite with the kids.

A special mention goes to the Jaggy Thistle, a small bar owned by a Scot who was very helpful and friendly. PS2 kept our little lad occupied whilst we passed the time of day and the music was an impressive collection of '80s hits at a nice enough volume to enjoy without intruding on conversation. The breakfast menu looked good too!

Culture is all around, with historic sites to visit within easy walking distance. Venture further a field and you will find Roman Ampitheatres etc. We took a Jeep (well, Land Rover, actually) safari into the Troodos mountains and the guide shared his knowledge with us willingly. He was also a very good driver and a bit of a comedian as well. It was certainly a trip worth doing (and included a brief visit to Kykkos monastry) and there are places around town which offer the same as your holiday company.

There is no beach as such, but some near by (Coral Bay) which are clean and safe.

A lovely place, which caters for all - young and old. Clean and the locals were friendly (they love it when you try a few words of Greek) and reasonably priced.

The Resort has a little for every age Fantastic Bars & Places to eat, what more can you ask for

Bedding and towels changed once in 14 days, air conditioning was extra.

All inlusive package is a waste of time.

Beach consisted of a dilapidated boulder heap, the orange flag warning of rough sea was always up (well the 1/4 that had not rotted away.

Overall a waste of money stear clear

We stayed near Bar Street which was a very good location. Ideal for families with older teenage children. The harbour area we felt was much more suited to families as lovely places to eat.

Charlies Place was good which is on the way down from Bar Street to the harbour. A must was Adonis baths. Well worth the poor road up to it. Ice cold water and great rope swings to jump into the water....a great way to spend a few hours.

Aphrodites baths was worth the trip...free to see and in a beautiful location. The water park at Limerssol was fantastic for young and old a great day out. Best to hire a car to see as much as possible. Troodos mountains was a cooler place than baking Pafos.

The mosaics and Tomb of the Kings was interesting but in August very very hot even early morning!

Beaches a little disappointing even Coral Bay.........ok but not worth the 40 min bus trip...........stick to hotel pool.

Pafos, loads to see and do........a wonderful place.

very quiet in the Luca Laura area, no entertainment. Beachmanmade and very dangerous, two seperate rescues while we were there!

Paphos is an excellent place to go on holiday, there is every type of food you can imagine, every type of entertainment and there is a local beach as well. The beach was very clean and the sea is lovely. You do have to watch out for the flags though as the current can change quickly. There are Irish pubs there, English bars, chinese, italian, cypriot, you name it, they've got it!

The few bars in the area were ok with friendly staff in all of them. Good foood at the rib shack at the bottom of the road but after a few days you need to go in to the center about 2 mile away and the buses are always packed so flag a taxi for £1 per person

Paphos town is a harbour resort, and so there is no beach as such, and it is quite rocky. However, it is extremly beautiful and we enjoyed many sunsets over the water. There are plenty of places to eat, to suit most budgets. We payed approx £25 to £30 for a meal with a drink or two, but could have eaten much more cheaply if we wanted. You do pay extra for the sea view, but we felt it was worth it. There were plenty of places to change currency, and no commission charge. The rates were better than in the hotel. We found the atmosphere happy and laid back. We were not pushed to go into any restaurant or bar, simply encouraged, and a cheery 'maybe tomorrow' if we declined.

Paphos is in 3 zones- the harbour, the old town (about 2 miles inland) and hotel drags along roads leading to the harbour (ours on the road to Coral Bay about 1 mile West).
It proved a good location and had good local bus service to other areas. Advice for those staying near Kefalos Beach Resort
1. Do the air one day trip to Egypt if you have not been to Cairo. Just do it! Costs c. 200UKP/person and goes Tuesdays and Fridays (See rep for Tuesdays and Horizon shop on drag for Friday (as reps seem not to know about Friday trip!)
On trip take sone 1CYP notes (30 coloured cards for 1CYP at Pyramids) Haggle for short camel ride (10 mins for 7CYP)we managed! (USA tourists will pay up to 50 dollars for similar!)
2. 200 yards North up from Phuket chinese restaurant on Tee junction near Kefalos Beach Hotel is a very good supermarket. Use no other.

The beach at the front of our hotel in Paphos was more than adequate, the sea was beautiful and the water sports there were enjoyable for my other half - I am too chicken.
Didn't really bother with entertainment as we were there to chill out and did very little.

Didn't go into the main area of Paphos very often. Went to the harbour - lovely setting. Lots of restaurants and bars. Liked Jamies Sticky Fingers. going to try Fat Mama's next year

Paphos was great, lots of nice restaraunts and beautiful harbour. Also we went whilst the open air opera was on, and although we didnt pay for a ticket you could hear the music whilst eating at most of the harbour side restaraunts, very romantic! Although a nice place with nice bars and restaraunts im not sure if i would go again as food and drink was quite pricey and there are places just as nice and alot cheaper in Greece.

We found Paphos to be a bit more commercialised that we were expecting. There are many bars and resturants to chose right along from the harbour end to the Coral Bay Beach end. There are some interesting places to visit in the area but we found it to be too hot to be walking round a lot of them. The taxi services are fantastic and the bus service very cheap. We visited Cyprus in August but we would like to go back another time of year when it is a bit cooler and be able to enjoy some of the more intersting and cultural places to visit.

The resort was very pretty the scenery was breathtaking when I looked out of the room door we had the pool and the sea and if I looked out of my bathroom window we could see all the mountains and hills.

With it being a big area you wasn't on top of everyone even though we had to take the local bus to the nearest beach it was about a 5 minute drive and the buses were all air conditioned as was the room that we had everything you could wish for was in our room.

Even though we were all inclusive there were cutlery crockery, a kettle and the plugs were all like what we have in the u.k there was a supermarket over the road as well as one being on site.

Fantastic holiday by my mum dad hubby girls and myself we will definitely go back in the not too distant future.

The entertainment staff are a credit to the hotel and the company they work for they should be very proud of them all.

The Laura had so much to offer and a private beach I must confess we didn't feel the need to leave the resort.

Terrible I know, but go the the Laura and you will understand!!!

Paphos is a charming area. The harbour itself is pleasant with a good range of cafe bars and restaurants.The old town has a lot to offer with its range of well known outlets and the excellent market.

The area around our hotel now has a walk which runs quite a distance in both directions, allowing visits to local bars to be made without the need to walk to the main road.

The gardens around Paphos are lovely. The main Car Park at the Harbour is Free which is a bonus in these money making days.

If you are not staying at the St.George Hotel it is worth visiting the church at the front and also the monument to the struggle which houses a replica of the boat used.

In Paphos there is a wide range of things to do such as diving, bars, excellent restaurants,the tombs etc.

Paphos Harbour unfortunately failed to impress me having visited other places and was very small compared to somewhere like Evissa Town in Ibiza which is excellent both day and night.

There was very little to do in the Harbour and only kept our interest for a very small period of time. Unfortunately from what we could see there was very little in the way of personality here, it was all tacky gift shops not selling much in the way of anything worth buying, and very little in the way of quality Cypriot goods. The harbour itself was pleasant with a few nice bars and what looked like some decent sea food restaurants (although we didn't dine in the harbour).

We didn't go to "Bar Street" as its locally known but did pass through it, it didn't appeal to me at all. It was all neon signs and British and Irish pubs.

The Paphos market again was a disappointment. Instead of a bustling local market with Cypriot goods been sold, you got another gut full of tacky British inspired gift shops with very little personality, all selling the same sort of thing. We did however find one nice little shop here selling Cypriot lace and we bought some of this from the very friendly lady here. However the market has very little for people seeking the culture of the island and doesn't offer anything like the local goods such as again Evissa market and also other places I have visited such as Casablanca in Morocco which when you visit you a instantly immersed in local traditions and culture. I really couldn't recommend Paphos unfortunately from what I saw, its redeeming factor is its extremely friendly people.

The airport is also terrible, very crowded, badly organised, hot, lacks clean facilities. It took over an hour for our luggage to come through never mind collecting it.

The rest of the island is worth visiting. We went on a jeep safari to Akamas which was excellent and really good fun. Our driver was really good not only in his off road driving but also his local knowledge which he was eager to share. We saw the gorge, turtle beach and Aphrodite's bathes while driving around the local countryside on dirt tracks. All but the Aphrodite's baths where well worth it, the later was a little bit of a disappointment.

We also went of a Catamaran ride from Paphos harbour, this again was very good and gave us a good chance to going swimming in uninhabited bays, enjoy a few glasses of our favourite drink, and also enjoy a decent meal at sea (although the choice for vegetarians was limited but sufficient). Our excursions where booked through Thomson.

I found Pathos to be very clean, the harbour area quite cosmopolitan.Visited Coral Bay bar area and found that there was plenty of choices of bars and entertainment.Land of the kings group of bars were good, if you wanted to Disco play bingo, kareoke and even pub quizzes it was all there.Didnt visit the beach at coral bay as the hotel we stayed in had its own lagoon.

We flew with Thomson direct to Paphos and it has to be said you must be prepared for a wait going both ways....the airport is military so be ready for a hot and sticky wait to collect bags or check in. Transfers however were very efficient.
Now on to the main points....
Hotel is situated about 15 mins from the main town...you can catch the bus for about a 80cents (intersting ride) or expect to pay about £5 for a taxi to the harbour (bus driving can be a bit hairy so be prepared). Nice place to visit but not a huge amount going on.

We are getting married in April 2006 in Paphos. The resort has everything from true british breakfast (don't want to upset our welsh and scottish friends!)Mcdonalds to traditional Greek food (my fav! well my parents took me there alot as a child)
Get a car and go around the surrounding area it is very nice even in November.

We stayed in Pafos for two weeks and really enjoyed it.There is a lot of building work going on so for the first couple of days we wondered if we had made the right choice, not because of noise but because of the way some areas looked, our fears soon disappeared however once we started to travel about. A car is invaluable as there are so many places to visit you can hire them in the town a lot cheaper than going through your holiday company (we found it to be about half the price). There are too many places to mention but we would definately reccomend the Troodos mountains but try and check the weather before you drive up, we actually got caught in a huge storm by Kykos monastery and it took two days for the jeep to dry out, fantastic all the same, and Adonis Waterfall which you will see a sign for at the side of the road between Pafos and Coral bay, it is not widely advertised but well worth a visit to swim in the ice cold water of the lagoon (there are ropes for the kids, and us older ones that haven't grown up yet, to swing out and drop straight in).There are some nice beaches in the area but you need to look around as some are quite rocky so you need to wear sandals in the water. As i say too many places to mention but we will certainly go back again

We found Paphos to be as clean as a popular holiday resort gets. There didn't seem to be a lot of litter around and the promenade, harbour area and shopping centres were clean. The only problem would be for somebody with mobility difficulties as some of the pavements are uneven.

Entertainment in the resort was ok. Plenty of bars and clubs, but people hassling you to go into theirs. There was also a bowling alley and snooker hall for teenagers. The disappointing bit for us was that there were no typical Greek tavernas with Greek dancing, which we'd been looking forward to. Although we knew we were abroad, we could have been anywhere on the Med.

The beach wasn't disappointing for us, as we'd rather stay by the pool, but for people who like a beach holiday then this isn't really the resort for them as it was quite small and the sea tends to be rough. We'd read reviews about Coral Bay and we were disappointed, as it was small and overcrowded. I think people tend to talk it up as it is the only safe beach in the area, but it wasn't anything to write home about.

I would stay in the resort again, but only if we were looking for a totally relaxing holiday with no character.

The highlight of the holiday for us was the daytrip to Egypt by air. I'd recommend it to anybody. You fly out ealry to Cairo and during the course of the day, you get to visit the Citadel, the Pyrimids and Sphinx and Cairo museum, where the tresures of Tuthankamun are on display. The day also includes a five star buffet at one of Cairo's top hotels and a cruise down the Nile at sunset. It's a long day (we didn't get back to our hotel until 11:30), but it's well worth it. It costs £195 per eprson and can be booked through your rep.

Resort is excellent main town near harbour is beautiful but beware the dreaded time share sellers they are very annoying but only seem to be around the harbour area.

The Merchant Restarant on sea front is excellent.

Bus service is great but be prepared to be squashed on like sardines!
Taxis are good too but agree a price before getting in.

Paphos seemed to have something for everyone - if you wanted lively nightlife head to Bar Street, if you want something a little more traditional or romantic head for the harbour or the restaurants in the quieter side streets. There are some really nice historic sites to visit close by.
Beaches are not that good unless you head out of Paphos towards the airport near to the Louis Patheon Hotel.

Paphos is a great place for families, couples, young and lively. There is something for everyone. Lots of restaurants and bars. There is also a good bus service, which takes you to coral bay and different parts of the resort (its big). Try a restaurant called Fat Mamas, on tomb of the kings road.

We would definatley visit Paphos again. The resort had everything we look for in a holiday, entertainment, bars, restaurants and local traditional taverna's.

We stayed around the harbour and there is not really any beach. We did visit Coral Bay and for beach lovers, although very quiet seemed OK.

We would definatley visit Paphos again as there seems to be plenty to do and see.

The entertainment in the resort is mainly pubs clubs and resteraunts not enough live groups or acts on.Only Elvis who seems to be alive a kicking in Cyprus.
There are not many sandy beaches only rocky ones which i found not very a=safe for me.

LOCAL RESTAURANTS There are a couple of cafes with good elevated views overlooking Paphos harbour and the sea in the market area. There is one restaurant on the main road towards Coral Bay, just a 5 minute walk (never got round to eating there though). Ten minutes walk away opposite the Venus Beach hotel are eight restaurants, including a Chinese and Italian. Joannas had a nice selection of three course meals for c£5.50, fair quality food. Nikis Tavern reasonable food and prices. Found Starvros and Geoginas to be a little below par and the Devonshire’s food was poor and had far too much salt for our taste. A further ten minutes walk towards the harbour brings a bigger choice of restaurants including Fat Mamas which had terrific food, large portions as well.
TRANSPORT Local taxi C£4 to harbour, bus is 70 cents for any journeys.
NEARBY ATTRACTION The Land of The Kings (20 minute walk) would be better described as the “Tombs of The Rich”. The ruins of some old tombs for rich people may be your bag, but it wasn’t for us. Plenty of other attractions near the harbour, historic site, mosaics and fort. Found the Jeep safari was a let down after being on a good one 10 years ago. Best day of the holiday (AND ANY OTHER) by far was GEORGES FUN BUS. Thought initially that C£32 was a lot, but we were wrong it was worth every cent, it was just like taking a happy pill. The BBQ was the best we’ve had on holiday, very good quality meat. The only problem was our face and sides aching through laughter. The only way to book at present is on his mobile 99 484 275, or through Thomas Cook reps, if that changes though, he’ll probably update his website.

Went by other comments on this website - so got to visit Fat Mamma's, etc. Had to get bus into Paphos - went Old Town and market area on last day. OK, had to have a look. Nice beach area down front by watersports hire place. It was so very hot! Sea is very rough, but there are places to swim from. Didn't go waterpark - bus does go there and you get your fare money back. Went Tombs of the Kings (on hottest day and no shelter). Wouldn't bother again, but mosaics and view from the fort, both down by the harbour, were worth visiting. Didn't hire car, but plenty of places available. Apparently their drivers are impatient of visitors! Plenty of taxis (£5 from our hotel to harbour). We went to Troodos mountains on excursion with local firm (not holiday rep) for £12 and that was well worth the money. Basically we had a family type holiday so can't comment on nightlife as such, although plenty of restaurants and pubs everywhere.

Pathos is a bustling resort and is a good base in which to access other locations. There is plenty of everything for everyone. I have visited Pathos eight times and will return.

loved paphos plenty to do, nice and clean resort,but beaches disapointing, eating and drinking rather expensive,take plenty of money!Good bus service,just about go anywhere for 70 cent.Harbour was very nice look out for the pelican, he bites!would love to come to cyprus again,but would go to another resort for a change.

Wasnt very impressed with Paphos and dont think I'll be going back, it just wasnt for me.

The harbour in Paphos is beautiful and I highly recommend a trip on the Wavedancer boat which takes you out for the day, firstly St Georges island along the Arkimis penninsular and then back down the coast for some swimming in Coral Bay.

There is a big downside to Paphos and that is the touts who are out to con you, beware! Your only reply to them should be "No thank you, not interested" repeat as necessary.

There is not much in the way of beaches around Paphos but there is a lovely stretch of sand at Coral Bay which is easy to get to, either by bus or car, there is a beach bar for drinks and snacks and they have a DJ playing music while you chill (or roast!)on your sunbed, not quite Nissi Beach but good enough.

I whole heartedly recommend both Cyprus and Paphos as a holiday destination for all ages.

Paphos is a nice place, a bit quite and may not suit everybody.
