We were very impressed with Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas, it was a shoppers paradise. Everywhere we went locals were polite and friendly. We liked the dancing fountains and Harry`s bar. Some of the bars had outstanding sea veiws, if only our apartment at Beverley hills Heights had been nearer to the nightlife we would have been there every night. The beaches were full of happy people over New Year enjoying the sunshine. Watching the pool is not nearly as nice as watching the sea.

the resort was excellent for all ages. the restaurants were very clean and the staff was friendly and the menus catered for all. the only draw back is on an evening you get alot of street sellers keep coming round with handbags, watches and jewellery they can become a bit of a pest. the sunday market is well worth a look for those bargins. loro park is an out of this world zoo with killer whale, dolphin and seal shows several times a day. for the more adventurous siam park is a world famous water park for all the family. the beaches are spotless in some areas the sand is black in colour but still very clean. they have a regular bus service to all over the island and you can pick up a taxi very easy to.

Found the resort very quiet and there was very little happening in the evening once we had finished our meal and were looking for somewhere for a few drinks there was not a lot going on.
Had good meals most nights and can recommend the Belvedere up by the Beverly Hills. The Oyster Catcher just a bit further down past the Spar was excellent - home made desserts and steaks/chicken/crepes flambe in front of you.
Cant remember the name of the Spanish restaurant over looking the port by the subway - but very authentic and huge portions.
Also above the Subway was another place that was good value - if the fella shouting to get you up there was a little off putting! Got a free litre of sangria with our dinner.
Ate in the Little Italy on Antonia Domingos (sp?) and it was another good meal, plenty of choice and good price. Our hotel Hollywood Mirage had a Little Italy on site and at lunch was excellent and reasonable.
Only bad meal was Rosie's, the mexican that was recommended by our hotel and it was not good, poor service and no atmosphere. Heard it used to be good but gone downhill.

Although we were between LC and PDLA, I found both resorts very clean. The beaches were kept very clean and the resort had plenty of entertainment. The only thing that let the pubs down were that sometimes nobody was in them and I think the current recession is starting to affect. We had a lovely time and would definitely return again. There are also plenty of shopping complexes and designer stores as well as your usual holiday shops. This was our first time in Tenerife and would highly recommend it.

We loved Los Cristianos- it was quite a walk from the apartments so we did get taxis (4/5 euros). There was an abundance of great restaurants and the people were very friendly.

The beach is FANTASTIC (LAS VISTAS), so clean and tidy. We spent a lovely day there and walked in to Las Americas.

The one downside I would say are the guys who come round selling their wares- nik-naks and jewellery; they can be very persistant and you may have to be quite hard with them.

Go and enjoy!!

Surprised how clean and well maintained Tenerife is. Loads of nice bars and restaurants all along the central promenade at the side of the sea, you can walk all way from Los Cristianos to Costa Adeje. Best large sandy beach is Las Vistas, all rest smaller, and mostly black sand and rocky, though nice little beach at Puerto Colon - golden sand and warm calm sea. Entertainment tends to start about 10.00 so didn't see much of it. Would visit again. Good holiday atmosphere. Can be as quiet or as lively as you want to make it.

Enjoyed the resort of L.C apart from the dog muck-the pavements were awful. Found eating and drinking more expensive this year due to the poor exchange rate.

we spent the rest of the week between both and had a great time.there are other bars about both which were well used by holiday makers.

First time we have stayed in Los Cristarnos,we have stayed in Las Americas Los Cris is really nice you can walk along the front to the harbour bars, restaurant, also the beach is very clean it takes about 20mintues into Las Americas it does'nt seem that long because of the places you can call in, it is a very nice walk. When buying items shop around as the prices differ from shop and stalls but the goods are the same.

We would stay in this area again.

As mentioned we have visited Tenerife many times and love Los Cristianos in particular the resteraunt Fortuna - unfortunately on this visit we were absulutely disgusted by the food and service we received. We are known to the staff at Fortuna as our brother in law Billy (now deceased) built the upstairs bar at Fortuna and we have always been treated well. For our 25th wedding anniversary meal we went to Fortuna with our sister and brother in law. The 2 Ann's ordered the lamb and the gents ordered TBone steak medium to well done cooked. It all looked great when it arrived but a few minutes into eating the TBones we realised they wwere raw in the middle and asked the waitress to take them away - she was going to speak to the chef - meanwhile we finished our lamb which you can't fault and 20 minutes later we were still sta waiting for a response from the chef - sat with no drinks - both waitresses ignored us - in the end Mark went in to speak to the owner who said we should have said something he advised we had done and told him what had happened his response was 'Shit'. There than proceeded to be shouting in Spanish we had the bill which was 90 euros thay gave us 15 back and asked if we would like a drink on the house - we ordered 4 gin and tonics which when they arrived with the waitress who had been serving she slammed every glass and bottle to the table shouting she did not need this trouble as she left the table and then carried on shouting in Spanish - like we had done something wrong!! This we thought was the best treseraunt in Tenerife and setrves the best Sangria but after the perfomance above we will not be visiting again - we were meant to feel as if we had done wrong - we had waited that long at the table we could have easily left without paying - we din't as we loved this reseraunt and never in a million years did we expect to be treated like this. As we left the table the owner 'Pablo' shouted 'SORRY' we didn't even look back we were that disgusted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We love Tenerfie - the hotels we have visited have generally all been good (most of the time). There was a new bar this time we went near Pradise Park ' Sunny Nights' BRILLIANT! Bar 39 next door is BRILL too

The beach is always lovely and many of the bars along the front have been renovated which is brilliant as they were looking shabby. A new resteraunt was opening as we left on 3rd Oct on the front called Bora Bora run by Simone this looked lovely and when we go back (soon I hope) this will be our replacement for the once brilliant fortuna (so disappointed in our treatment there especially on our Wedding anniversary - we have also written to the resteraunt telling of our dismay)

This was our sixth visit to Los Cristianos in eight years so we had a good idea of where to go ( or avoid ), the beach has always been excellent although on this visit we never made it to the beach due to the quality of the apartment/pool/balcony we chose this time.We stayed at the Dinastia Apartments at the foot of ' Cardiac Hill 'which gives plenty of eating out options in the Los Cristianos area downhill from the Paradise Park Hotel.Loads of new restaurant/bars have opened in this area downhill towards the market area , chinese, indian, italian and ' british pubs'.Venture further afield towards the ' old town ' and you find more traditional fare , Canarian food along side ' European ' eataries ( indian , chicken , chinese and burgers ).If your into brit food , the Cheers Bar at the San Marino complex is the place to go , with an extensive menu and attentive staff you can't go wrong. If you want Karaoke then you will find it in Los Cristianos but not after about 11pm ! , get a taxi to Las Americas !.And finally if you fancy going up the volcano best hire your own car and get to the cable car before 10am because the organised trips turn up after that time and you will spend hours queueing and only minutes on the mountain before your trip leaves !.

We first went to this resort about 8 years ago and loved it ,but this time round we were disappointed.Everything was clean and there were plenty of bars butthere seemed to be something missing.
I would recommend O'Flahertys for a drink in the evening - try their jugs of cocktails, and the Robbie Willams tribute was really good- Paul or David Mack - sorry i forgot his first name.Ged Bolton as Rod Stewart was also good.
Overall we had a lovely holiday and it will be a long time before i forget Phillipe and the Flintstone theme tune!

After the 20 minute walk from the Castle harbour apartment (in which i would suggest taking a taxi back up in the daytime heat), we found plenty to do in Los Cristianos. There are plently of English and Irish pubs and resteraunts (as well the odd Scottish bar) for those with less exotic ambitions. Chinese, indian, italian and spanish resteraunts are also close to the front so you are never far away fom what you fancy for dinner.
The beach is big with plenty of sunbathing opportunities, but if you fancy venturing out further down the front, you are not far away from playa de las americas which has one of the best beaches i've seen. tenerife on the whole has many places to visit. El teide, Loro parque, aqualand and the catamaran services are all must do's.
tenerife basically has everything to make your holiday as good as possible.

Looks like a lot of work is just coming to and end around the town, all the roads and pavements have been remade and the place is full of hundreds of new palm trees and seating benches everywhere. Very, very clean and all the locals in the shops were very friendly. The beaches are terrific, especially the big Vistas beach, which was well patrolled by life guards. Not much for kids other than the beach and a small play ground just up from Amigos Restaurant, that was a blessing as we knew where the kids were while we ate and drank. It does seem a safe place for kids and we are already planning our next trip to Los Cristianos but will probably try and find somewhere nearer the sea front to stay.

Los Cristianos seems to have something for everyone. For example you can find a quiet secluded beach at one end of the town a busy harbour beach in the middle and a huge busy beah at the las vistas end on the way to Las Americas. Really good shops from trendy clothes and she shops to tacky holiday gift shops, and more camera shops than I have ever seen.
A fantastic range of restaurants from Burger King and Macdonalds to the bigger restaurant chain like Little Italy, which seemed to be on every street corner. Not our cup of tea but Amigos facing the harbour, just past the kids play park, really is, literal as they do the best ever mug of english tea and their fish and chips are to die for. They are even thoughtful enough to leave your bread (english) in one piece so you can make a chip butty. Really friendly and down to earth place. The town is very clean and every one we met (locals) where very friendly. We are planning going back as soon as we can.

To eat best breakfast for value is on Paloma Beach site, great lunch at the Penny Farthing and fantastic evening meal at the Surrey Arms. All bars close to Paloma beach have great music and if you like kareoke well look no further, great place, will be back. The cleanest resort we have ever been to.

We came here a few years ago and saw lots of road works starting, thank heavens its nearly all finished now the new sea front past the restaurants is wide with loads of palm tres and more seating benches looking out to sea than I have ever seen. All the roads and paths are cleaned every night, which can be a pain when they are jet washing at 4 am near the hotel, but a small price for cleanliness. We saw very few cockroaches this time, looks looks they have them beat too.
Lots of litter bins about and the shopping is good, except between 1 an 5 (siesta)local people are very nice. There isnt a lot of entertainment at night except fo one very noisy karaoke bar and one or two look alike type places, rod stewart and chubby brown seem to have bikes. We did see a great singer called Gary Paige doing 50s and 60s stuff, again at Amigos when the guitarist was off, He was very entertaining. We also went most nights to the Irish Times who have a live Irish band until about 2am.

Los Christianos was a good place for a family holiday or a relaxing break, but dont expect to find 1000s of teenagers or people heading to raves or discos.

Plenty of Karaoke and tribute bands around such as Elvis, Neil Diamond, Elton John, Chubby Brown and Cher (the best overall according to our 4 year old) There was also good old fashioned club style cabaret and Irish bars.

The beaches were ok but not many people seemed to use them and it was just beyond the distance you wanted to take all teh towels, books, lotions, and other stuff for the day.

The Water Park is very very good and the Dolphin show is better than I have seen on all my travels abroad including Sea Life in Florida.

A tip is that the Water Park it's something like £25 euros each adult and £18 euros per day for children.

However if you go earlier in your holiday as long as you pay before leaving the park another day trip only costs you £5 euros an adult and £3 euros for children!!!

So your second trip for say 2 adults and 2 kids for £16 euros is a bargain and well worth the kids seeing the Dolphin show again.

Los Cristianos is still a lovely resort with great beaches and street bars where the main thing is people watching. Still wome great shopping but be careful at the market lots of knockoff stuff but not great. The waiters are still friendly. And most of the touts have been moved on although there are still some, unfornately the worst kind of british loud and rude and cant take a simple no thank you without some loaded retort. Not a problem for us but there are still a lot of street hair braiders. Eating is great from the cheap chicken and chips to expensive but authentic spainish food and everything in between. The resort is generally clean but dont have a clean after your dog so watch your step. The free bus to jungle park is great but still pricy for adults children under 12 were free when we went. The mountain excursion is very good whale boat trip not so great.

Los Cristianos' harbour area was being re-paved while we were there. Should imagine will be lovely when finished. Plenty of lovely restaurants/cafes. Beach by harbour not that great - go through tunnel at the harbour and there is a lovely beach (part of which has been made wheelchair accessible) that stretches into Playa de las Americas. Nice boat trips available. Lots of time share touts and "looky looky" men - you just have to be firm. We were told there is a lot of pick pocketing, so keep an eye on your wallet/purse, especially at the Sunday morning market. Would definitely return to Los Cristianos - much, much nicer than Playa de las Americas. Worth a mention, visit the Jungle Park for a great day out with the kids. Free bus operates from Los Cristianos.

The beaches that we walked passed when on the promenade walk from Los Cristianos seemed well supervised and maintained. You had to pay for the loungers and umbrellas.
We would visit this resort again but as it is not our 'home' resort via RCI points we will have to wait a few years as they operate a 1 visit in 4 years rule.

Los Cristianos is clearly undergoing some structural improvements down at the beach front which clearly affects the appearance and impression of the resort.
However, having visited this resort several times over an 18 year period, I would say that this improvement programme has been ongoing, albeit in different sections. The beach is currently not as accessible and user freindly as it has previously been. That said, it's not difficult to see past this and enjoy the resort centre with it's array of shops and restaurants.
I would definately go again and recommend this resort for a winter break

Paradise Park is in a good location in Los Cristianos, very quiet at night time but a row of restaurants down the hill slightly from the hotel, including the excellent Taylor’s Lounge and Oyster Catcher, would recommend them both. There’s a large Spar supermarket just down the hill and you are only a 15 minute walk down to the front of the resort, we took a taxi back up!!!
Ask for a pool view room as the rooms at the other side look out at more apartments and hills, not so nice.

I've never known such a clean resort. We commented that there was always someone from the council out sweeping, gardening or picking up litter - even on a Sunday morning!

Los Cris has something for everyone. We wanted friendly bars and restaurants, nothing too loud, and that's what we found. But if you want lively you can find that too.

The beaches were amazing. Playa Del Camison was our fave. More of a locals beach and a good 35 mins walk from Dinastia, but worth it.

We will definitely visit here again.

Stayed in Los Cristianos. The beer was cheap and the beach was very good.Plenty of cheap eating places and we found a restaurant that did full english plus coffee and orange juice for E2.95. Can't remember it's name, but it was right by Burger King (by the port). We spent a bit of time in the Devon Arms - cheap beer and good cheap food. We saw some good "turns" but the best was The Blues Brothers. They were so funny.

Arona Gran is situated on the outskirts of Los Christianos.Everything is towards Las Americas. There are a few bars and places to eat within easy walking distance but if you are used to four star accommodation you may give them a miss.Walk a bit further for something a bit better and enjoy the better beaches as well. There is no real nightlife, if that is what you are after go to Las Americas.

Having last visited Tenerife 20 years ago I wasn't sure what to expect. Had been in Las Americas which was noisy. Have just found Los Christianos much more pleasant.
People seem to complain about the slightest things. A holiday is what you make it. If you are going to go to these popular resorts, expect there to be building works. The nimby mentality seems to be evident.
The only major downside I found with Tenerife is the constant harrasment by British Timeshare sellers. It was really a pain 20 years ago, and the only thing that seems to have changed is their techniques today. I'm really surprised people fall for the scams. As someone said to me, there are no good deals, they just want your money. A few locals were saying that Time share is the scourge of Tenerife.
If you go, be warned. You will be approached and followed several times a day. An ex "employee" was telling me that the financial rewards for these "agents" is phenominal, so they don't care if you verbally abuse them every so often!!

Los cristianos was clean, apart from the odd bit of dog pooh scattered about. There is currently work going on in los cristianos town to improve the pavements but they do not inconvenience you too much and the town will look lovely when its all finished. The shops are ok, resturants are good and cheap, but can be a pain when every bar you walk past a menu is shoved under your nose as they try to get you to eat in their bar. La vistas beach is the best one to go too, you can hire pedal boats, go on the bannana boat, there is pleanty of watersports if thats what you like. The beach itself is very clean and there is always pleanty of sun beds to hire, 6 euros per day for a lounger and umbrella. Would defintly visit this resort again.

The Resort seems to have dropped in standards from our last visit, but the city fathers have realised this and it is now getting worked on. The harbour is nice and some good trips are to be had there. There is a small beach next to the harbour, however if you carry on round from the harbour there is a beautiful beach called 'La Vista' which is nice and clean and has plenty of sunbeds. They can be hired at a cost of 9 Euros for 2 beds and a parasole for all day. There are plenty of promanade-side bars and restuarants for your lunch. Try Inas strand bar, which sits immediately behind the first aid hut.

If you are looking for a good meal I would recommend the German restuarant on one of the balconies, just above Inas strand bar or the Fish Restuarant 'La Barca' at the end of the prom.

There is also a ice cream parlour in the shopping centre at the end of the prom, which is worth a visit. Serves up some nice cream cakes as well.

There were many touts trying to sell you a 'Holiday Club' who are pains to stress to you that they are not time share, and these can be a great pest. I guarantee that if as a couple you are stoppped, and you accept a scratch card each. One of you will have won a "Big Prize". I eventually got nasty with them as I was being accosted every 5 yards. After that they left me alone.

There are trips a plenty and we had a great time at the following.

Loro Park. this is a must see and is worth every penny. Get there as early as you can as there are many shows within this park. The Dolphins and the penquin house were our favourites. No visit to Tenerife would be complete without a trip up Mount Teide, however take a jacket with you if you go up the cable car, as it is quite cool at the top, and the scenery is quite literally breathtaking.

Back in Los Christianos you have to go to the Jungle Park. There is a free bus and it is a very enjoyable day. Our 2 grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the jungle trail and the Bobsleigh.

Go to Los Gigantes for a nice lunch or if you want a real thrill visit the Go Karting, but make sure you hire a super size kart.

The town of Los Christainos, itself has many eating places and we had a lovely meal in an italian restuarant, the name of which escapes me, however it is in the lane that runs of the wee church.
The proverbial 'Looky looky' men patrol with the so called designer sun glasses but they are not a pest and you can have a laugh with them.

There is a market every sunday with the usual goods(made in China)this can be reached from the Hotel by turning immediately right out of reception, then right at the junction and carry straight down the hill and you eventually come to it.

The temperature whilst we were ther never dropped below 27' so drink plenty of water.

We would visit Bar 39 or Taylors of an evening which are close to the Hotel. Or next to the Tenerife Sur apartments is a wee bar called The Clansman run by a man fae Kilmarnock who is a master at telling jokes.

All in all this was a great holiday, in a great hotel

The beachfront walk to the left of the harbour is being relaid and this results in this part of the resort having a dirty feel, unfortunately. The walk past the back of las Vistas beach and down to PDLA is very good apart from the bit between Las Vistas beach itself and the next cove - about 100 yds - where the area to the left of the walkway is being built upon - there was an unpleasant smell of sewage in this area.
The Shopping/restaurant area in the "old" town are unchanged from the last time we visited two years ago and are a pleasant stroll in the nights as long as you ignore the "lovely jubbly!" and "excuse me lady, hair braiding!" Africans and the restaurant PR's.
The beaches are OK but ask the price of pedalos before you hire them - I was quoted €17.00 for half an hour on one beach and €10.00 for an hour on another! 2hamackas and a sombreil are €9.00 for the day. You can buy your own sunshade for €10,00 from the shops and lie on your own towel if you are on a budget.
Los Cristianos is a lot more laid back than PDLA and more suitable for families in my opinion.

Los Cristianos is a lovely resort. I go to Tenerife 4 times a year as I like the all year round sunshine. You can't believe that you are sunbathing on Christmes day! It is generally quieter than Las Americas and is more suitable for families and couples who like it a bit quieter. The area where we usually stay is up the hill a bit and is really taking off now. They have built a row of new units which are all occupied now. There is a pleasant mixture of bars and resturants of different kinds. Some with entertainment and some where you can just relax and have a quiet drink. Most of these are English speaking. There is also a new shopping complex which is slowly being occupied.

You can easily walk to the beachfront or to the old town of Cristianos where there are restaurants, shops and Spanish tapas bars. It's really good to go there for lunch or dinner and you feel you are in Spain! The streets are narrow, cobbled and there are mostly Spanish shops which are very reasonably priced.

I like the mixture that you get in Cristianos and now prefer it to Las Americas. I have been returning year after year.

There are many places to eat from crap food to excellent food. Some cheap and some not so cheap.
In general we found that the more expensive the food the nicer it was. We only had one bad meal all week.
There is an italian restaurant nearly on the seafront in Los Christianos itself, can't remeber the name but it was fantastic.
Also there is a chinese restaurant as you walk down to Christianos town on the right hand side, it looks posher than the rest of them, the food in there was amazing and was cheap compared to England but expensive compared to Tenerife.

There are many different places to go in the evening.
There are many cheesey kareoke bars full of oldies and chavs from which the sound that is emmitted sounds like an x factor rejects night out! ( not my thing you can guess ) However they seem to be popular and busy.

Fortunately there are better/other places to spend some beer money. There are quite dark bars in alleys, there are loud sparts bars, little cafe's etc etc.

I would also comment on the dog crap all over the place. It's pretty much everywhere so you have to watch were you walk.

You will get hassled as you walk past every bar and restaurant to go in by there touts outside. After a couple of night's most tend to leave you alone if they recognise you and they know you aren't likely to go in their place.
You also get hassled by the africans trying to sell you "genuine" designer sunglassess and various other bits of crap.

ALl in all it's a good place to go. Don't expect the equivilent of a £5000 Barbados holiday, expect a load of English people in Tenerife surrounded by english food and cutural food if you try harder and you'll be happy.

Kids are apparently welcome any place a man would take his wife and you would not be frowned upon having them out till ten pm.

Going back again on the 3rd July 2008 to the same apartment and cant wait, a cold pint in Dannys Bar is the first port of call i think!!

Lots of choice for places to eat, drink or watch entertainment, a nice beach, a very friendly feel to the resort, very clean, my little boy was happy given the amount of amusement arcades on offer, crazy golf & just a short trip from the airport.
A big plus is how accessible the resort is for disabled visitors, there are dropped kerbs everywhere, some of them are a little steep but its got to be better than nothing, there are electric scooters for hire in the resort and I noticed lots of wheelchair users enjoying a hassle free holiday in the sun. I work for a local Council & will be recomending this resort to my colleagues who use wheel chairs.

My boyfriend and I really liked Los Cristianos. Both beaches (Los Cristianos and Playa las Vistas) were nice, although we preferred Playa las Vistas as it was the larger of the two. Competitive cafes/bars run along the back of Playa las Vistas, with beers at 1 euro (Taylors Family Bar). We were also amazed and impressed how the resort had been made accessible to the less mobile.

As mentioned in earlier posts, there are lots of waiters trying to entice you into their restaurant of an evening, which becomes very annoying! We managed to make it to lunch one day without being caught by anyone, which was a record. Reassuringly, there was a lot of police presence on the resort, using various modes of transport.

We would highly recommend ‘The Original Bistro’. The food is amazing with most of it being homemade; we ended up going there 3 times in the end. Admittedly it is tucked away so may be a little challenge to find. Although with your back to Los Cristianos beach, facing Burger King, proceed up the side street that is to the left of BK. Take the next side street to your left and you ought to be there. The specials board changes most days and although it may not be the cheapest restaurant you certainly get what you pay for. It really is worth the adventure to find.

We used Resort Hoppa for transfers, which was £13.50 each (return), very reasonable and effortless. Airport ok, although food & drink expensive (a bottle ok coke was 3 euros!)

On the whole, great resort.

We stayed in Los Christianos, and unfortunately due to bad weather we did a lot of walking around the resort. There was roadworks in the town - access to some areas was difficult. The beach was closed due to sewerage being found leaking onto it due to a burst pipe - but the authorities seemed to be dealing with this very quickly - the pipes were dug out over night, and the area sealed off.
Shops were much the same as in any tourist resort, as were the restaurants/bars. We did experience some hassle from people employed by bar/restaurant owners to entice you in.
The whole resort appeared to shut down after 10, which was OK because you weren't hassled on your way back to your apartment!
Entertainment was vey much focused on bars, with singers - we saw Elvis in 2 different locations on the same night!
Las Americas seemed more lively - with the casino and the fountain display at 10pm, and the beach there was clean!
It made Los Christianos seem a bit tatty.
Los Christianos seems quieter than its neighbour - more residential, with quite a high population of retired people in March.
Beware of the bus drivers - they seem intent on killing people on crossings!

There are a few pubs just outside to gate where you can have a laugh and a bit of Karaoke, they all stop the entertainment at midnight so there is no noise to disturb your sleep. It might not suit the younger generation 18 + but is great for families and couples There is also a restaurant Roumers great food and reasonably priced they even do carry outs so you can eat in the apartments. Time share touts a nuiscance! you end up getting very rude with them as they stop you all the time, although it's entertaining to watch them work. They give you scratch cards and lo they all win 150E which you have to go to the office to collect.
Apart from that the resort was good, loads of restaurants of all types. Not much live entertainment in Los Cristianos but you can walk to Playa las Americas only 15 mins along the sea front or get a taxi. Thare are a couple of bars offering 'caberet' through out the night - Chicagos (the drinks tasted like they were watered down?) and Dreamers (saw best comedien here)they are also the obligatary Irish bars and loads of Sports bars - suggest Danny's thery were very obloging to my husband who wanted to watch the Rugby as opposed to the football!
Weather was overcast all week but still very hot.
They suggest you take sweater if you visit volcano but I would suggest take thermal coat - its !***! freezing up there. We went on 1/2 day trip which was good value (we normally hire a car & do our own trips but there was nowhere to park it over night in Los Cristianos)
I would not want to stay for 2 weeks as there is not that much to do expecially if you have young children would suggest staying nearer las americas

The area was fairly clean but a lot of broken slabs in the pavements leading down to the front. It is quite a hilly area not suitable for people with walking dificulties. We saw lots of battery powered wheelchairs and buggie type things which you can hire and they are deliveredto your hotel. We usually go to LAS AMERICAS and we found LOS CHRISTIANOS very quiet in comparison not nearly so much live or varied entertainment. We saw hundreds of sun loungers on the beach but very few people using them,Iwas told that they are quite expensive if you hire them every day approx £60 for 14 days.

The beach at Playa de Los Cristianos is not very nice as it is a port but the beach at Playa de Las Vistas is very nice.

I would recommend anyone to check where their hotel is in relation to this beach as it could be quite a distance otherwise.

We were half board so don't know much about the entertainment in the resort as we tended to stay at the hotel in the evenings.

Overall the resort was very friendly and we enjoyed our stay there.

Been to Los Cristianos before and we will return again. Resort isn't spotless (but not dirty either) and the entertainment is good, albeit favours karoke singers !

Beach between Los Crist/ Las Americas is probably the best.

The restaurants in Los Cristianos are excellent - we have been 4 years in a row and have never had a bad evening meal. Recommendations are Chill Out (just through tunnel on walk to Las Americas), Bistro and The Original Bistro, Linares (round corner from Burger King), Rio 7 and Slow Boat hard to beat for a chinese meal.

One piece of advice - try what the locals call a Cortado Leche Leche. This is a coffee served in a small glass with condensed milk in the bottom and milky coffee on top - I dont normally have a desert and this is an ideal way to finish off a meal.

Cristianos is going through a big change with all its pavement and new sewer pipe works but you can se it is becoming a very nice up market resort.

The harbour beach isn´t quite as GOOD AS VISTAS BEACH BUT BETTER THAN ALMOST ANY IN Spain. Entertainment is a bit sparse if you are not in a hotel and limited to the tacky cabaret shows, usually a bit noisy and almost always with a bit of Karaoke thrown in.

Thank heavens this is not aloud on the beach front where you can find some lovely restaurants and cafes to dine at. Our favourite is AMIGOS, right on the beach front, so it has lots to see from its outside terrace including the harbour and everyone out ´promenading´.

The food was great with a huge range that suited all the family and the staff and owners couldn´t do enough to help us enjoy our meals.

One night we ate somewhere else but called at AMIGOS for a last drink, they put some nibbles on the table, free, which I thought was nice as we hadn´t eaten there.

The main Los christianos pedestrian walkways were being regenerated at the time of our visit, so it was a building site.(Near finished Aug 2006 ??)this made access to some shops & restaurants inconvenient. I thought the sea front was a bit industrial looking but full of shops, bars, restaurants etc. Plenty of quality food available with lots of junk in between. Beach ok but bouys mark swimming area, (ferries dock close by)We walked onto the next resort Playa Vistas which is much nicer (10min walk)with plenty of shops ,bars etc. Overall a little disappointed with what i expected.

Free bus to both, but at time of visit more people waiting than seats available, plenty of taxis available about 8 euros to aqualand.

We do recommended to eat along the sea front as there are different types of restaurants to eat from. You will also get a fantstic view of the habour and the sun setting as well.

The only downside of going down to eat at the evening is that there a lot of 'lookie-lookie men' as my over half call them, trying to sell sunglasses or jellewerey that are apparently 'cheap as chips'!!!! You will get people advising you to look at their menu but thats just them being friendly and trying to run their buisness. But they're not too pushy.

Theres a local market on sundays that is open from 9am to 2pm which is just at the bottom of the hill from the hotel. There is also very cheap bar/restaurant that is open all day called 'Charly's' which we do recommend.

There is plenty of boat trips that are being advertised near the harbour. We went on one and saw some dolphins and pilot whales which was really good.

There are lots of trips you can go to, we recommend Mount Teide at night, although the price is a bit dear it is well worth it as you pay for your evening meal, with wine and you see the fantastic view of the sun set over the clouds with a glass of champagne. When it gets dark you have a special talk from an astronomer which talks through all the stars and what all the arrangements and constilations of the stars are, well recommended.

Aquapark is better for groups and families with children but you have to pay for everything including the rubber rings for some of the rides.

There are other trips including Loro Parque which has a killer whale, dolphin and sea lion show. Theres also a jungle zoo and many more trips to choose from.

Hope you enjoy tenerife as we certainly would go there again.

Los Cristianos centre was beautiful. It had two beaches, although Playa de las Vistas was our favourite which had great watersports. The beach had plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas you could hire for a reasonable price.

There were lots of great bars and restaurants although the entertainment is low key compared to its neighbour Las Americas. This is only a short walk or taxi ride away, but we found it more expensive than Los Cristianos.

The resort is fantastic for couples and families and although most of its visitors are British tourists, it has retained some of its Spanish/Canarian charm.

Los Cristianos is great for families and the local people are extremely courteous. Most bars or restaurants close at 12 midnight. I can recommend the Irish Times for live music and a late drink until 2am. You can find many bars offering a pint of lager for 1 euro and shorts with mixers for 2 euros.

For the sporting man, I recommend Churchills bar were you can bet in bar on all UK racing and sporting events via in house bookies with live TV. You can expect to be approched by the street sellers although their not really pushy. The promenade takes you right into Las Americas with plenty to see and is doused with cheap bars and restaurants along the way. Some excellent designer shops can be found in Las Americas and for the ladies, there is a Mango clearance outlet.. sorry lads.

The beach adjoining Cristianos and Americas is expecially nice. McDonalds and Burger King are also in town incase you need to break the monotomy.

The hotel is in a quieter part of Los Cristianos where everything shuts down around ten/ten thirty. From our location we were able to walk around the coastal promenade to Playa De Las Americas in about half an hour with two small kids, and would then get a taxi back for about 5 Euros.

I can't rate the resort highly enough. For families looking for a busy resort with something for everyone then Los Cristianos/Las Americas has it all. The shopping is great and the coastal walk is wonderful for small kids as its traffic free.

Lots of "bling bling" men and "Excuse me. Braid for the baby" women along the coastal path but the most persistent must be the women with the kids toys - light-up toys and yapping dogs. Keep showing them to the kids until you've said no at least five times firmly.

We'll definitely return to the resort in the next year or so. We stayed for a fortnight and still didn't manage to see it all.

Los Cristianos has plenty of bars, restaurants and shops and is only a couple minutes walk from the hotel. However, it is not the liveliest resort. Please be warned there are loads of people trying to catch you out with scratch cards for "holiday clubs". Be polite, but walk away. If you want somewhere a bit more lively need to go to Costa Adeje/Torviscas. We found travelling round the island easier by taxi and the cost varied from 6-9 euros to Adeje. However, you can ask at reception and they will call a taxi for you. At Adeje you can do all sorts of water sports and boat trips, would recommend Bob Diving but you need to do this 3-4 days before you fly home.

There are Spanish bars/restaurants that the locals use, and if you find these you can eat and drink for next to nothing.

There is also a new shopping mall due to be opened shortly and the golf course is close by. Local taxi rides cost about 3-5 euros. This resort and appartments have taken a battering with the reviews, but we had a good holiday and feel that in time this place will be lovely again. We loved Los Cristianos! We are both in our early twenties, but are not really into the nightclubs and parties offered in Playa de las Americas next door. Los Cristianos is a great alternative as it has a much more relaxed atmosphere.

However there is still plenty to do and Playa is only 2/3km away if you need it! It is only about 20 minutes transfer time from the airport and the resort looks spectacular as you travel down through the hills. The beaches are great, although I would recommend the larger Playa las Vistas beach rather than the one in the harbour area, as the latter tends to be a bit noisier due to boats and ferries.

One thing we were amazed by is the amount of nice restaraunts on offer. There is a wide selection covering almost every type of food you can think of. If you are on a self-catering holiday (we were half-board) you would be spoilt for choice.

Being a man, I'm not thrilled by the prospect of going shopping, but I really enjoyed the market which is held every Sunday by the Arona Gran Hotel. There is also a lagre shopping centre where you can buy all your designer names. F

or Brits, there are plenty of British bars particualy along the Playa las Vistas beach area. However if you prefer to sample the local culture, there are plenty of other bars to choose from. The local people were very friendly and most spoke English very well.

Overall we would highly recommend Los Cristianos, especially those of you who like to go on holiday to relax!

Los Cristianos is a lovely town with a relaxed atmosphere, a superb man-made beach, plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from catering for all tastes and pockets, and of course fantastic weather.

This is the choice for families with children and couples as it not so boisterous as it's near neighbour, Playa De Las Americas.

It is also a real Canarian town with Canarian shops, bars and businesses unlike PDLA, which has nothing Canarian about it, as it is a purpose built resort built from scratch in the 1960's.

The downsides are too many people on the streets trying to sell you things, the worst of these by far being the crimeshare touts. The other problem, although this seems to be a Canarian thing, rather than confined to LC, is people allowing their dogs to foul the streets.

The resort is undergoing a facelift at the moment so there is a certain amount of digging etc. going on around the place but this can only be good for the town in the long run. All in all, a lovely seaside town and certainly not the 'dump' as suggested elsewhere on this forum.

Great place to stay, we were not disappointed!

Good places to eat;

Beer Engine - Good honest grub, very reasonably priced in a friendly atmosphere, lots of sport on TV which we are not into but didn't affect us at all. Very handy to the apartments. We ate here twice, and even though Don (I think, sorry but it has been a couple of weeks) reckoned he knew how to make Rock Shandy (50/50 Club Orange & Club Lemon) we have our doubts (he he, sorry Don). Great place to wind the day up and delicious puds.
Typical meal €25, great value for money and nothing was too much trouble.

Little Italy - More expensive, but very nice. Typical €55 meal for 3A 1C not so good value for money, and I doubt if we would return.

Toni Romas Ribs - Worth the trip to Las Americas, we went twice, absolutely delicious couldn't recommend enough!!! Typical €40 3A 1C, good size drinks too, miss at your own loss.

Places to go;

Jungle park - Courtesy bus, from nearby bus stop. Just make sure to get there before 12:00 as the Birds of prey flight starts at this time (and 15:00) and it is well worth seeing twice.

Aqua Land - Think of this as a dolphin show with free water rides thrown in, there have been lots of less than favorable reports but we enjoyed it enormously. Go Mon to Thursday as there are 2 shows and as with Jungle Park the dolphin show is well worth a second look. We would also pay the €50 each for the children to train and become part of the show, expensive but it looked fantastic for the children who participated. There is a courtesy bus layed on but was full on our return, we used this as an excuse to take a taxi (€8) to Toni Romas again. This was the only place we bought pictures of the children cradling parrots etc. the girls seemed genuinely friendly.

Medieval Night - Excellent night as both our girls are horse mad, we didn't think much of the drifters, although this isn't a slight on them, it just isn't our thing and it was starting to get late by this time, the night wraps up around 12:00. We all really enjoyed it and despite ourselves we found it most upsetting when our Knight didn't win, Yaa Boo sucks, that dastardly black knight, who turned out to be quite friendly at the after dinner photoshoot!!! Each adult gets a full chicken which looked a little under cooked to me but was delicious none the less, my youngest daughter (12) thought it was really funny you had to eat your soup without a spoon from a dog bowl (decide for yourself) and we liked the Medieval ice cream in a plastic tub with plastic spoon!! If only the serving staff were more friendly it would have increased our enjoyment.

Island Tour (English commentary only coach trip) - This was just a blanket tour we had to pay for. We only got to see the most interesting sites from a distance ie. Dragon tree from a distance up the road and Los Gigantes out the back window of the bus. We wasted a whole day and that about sums this trip up, be warned.

Mount Tiede VIAJES TEIDE (multi language, which was quite funny and hats off to the commentator) - Much much better trip. Not too long (1/2 day) and spectacular views/sights/stop offs etc where nothing was forced upon you!! The cable car was closed (high winds) which was a blessing in disguise as it works out a little expensive @ €21. each!!!! Bring something warm, as it was quite cold high up! We will do this one again when we go back.

Whales & Dolphin trip - Quite enjoyable even though we only seen whales at the start of the trip, they all disappeared after 30min. If we were to do it again I would recommend a twin hulled boat as they looked LOTS more stable, ours wasn't twin hulled or stable, be warned!!

General observations;

No problems with either time share or Lookie Lookie folks. Just say "No thanks" and keep walking, worked for us.

We tried in vain to buy my daughter a Nintendo DS but they were dearer in Tenerife (€145), make sure you check any purchase, just look up Argos/Dixons website in any internet access over there (approx €1 for 8min). I am also convinced every electronics shop is owned by the same family!

The ice creams are absolutely delicious especially the Nestle ones! I still slobber a little bit when I think of the "Chocolate Brownie" one, and only €1.50 bargain. My girls got a bit annoyed when I ate 2 in rapid sucession, but I was hungry.

Bring comfortable footwear as you will be walking a lot (just as well with the ammount we ate!).

If you want a sunlounger get down there early (we never bothered). Even though it says you can't hog them there are as always the usual tramps who reckon rules are for other people (and no they weren't all German).

Be careful you don't rub your sun lotion off as you will be burnt before you know it!!!!!!

We are currently trying to arrange another visit through "ATLANTIC HORIZONS" run by Richard & Gaynor two of the friendliest people you are ever likely to meet, If you are reading this thanks for making our stay so enjoyable.

Los Cristianos is plagued by time share touts giving away scratch cards for wonderful gifts. Don't be taken in !!!
In addition to this restaurant staff are trying to drag you into their establishments. Parts of the resort are also looking a bit shabby.

That's the negative points out of the way now onto the positives.

Playa la vista beach very nice and clean but there's even nicer horseshoe bay beyond that in front of the hotel 'sir antony'

Threre is also a very well maintained seafront walkway which runs right to las americas. This is also very flat which would help anyone who needed wheelchair access.

The overall cleanliness of the resort is good and we did not encounter the dog poo and fag ends which have been indicated in other reports.

Evening entertainment seems to centre around the hotels and a few bars, however I would not recomend this resort to anyone wanting a lively disco type holiday.

Eating was anything from chips and egg to traditional spanish, you takes your choice.

Weather was fantastic during the day but slightly chilly after sundown.

We enjoyed our time here and would come again although we would hire a car to see more such as Mt Tiede

Having spent the last 4 visits to Tenerife I would return at any time, Los Cristianos is quieter than Las Americas but has plenty of restaurants/bars, the olive tree is expecially popular, there is a lovely harbour which has loads of boats coming in and out, and plenty of fish in the sea, a couple of beaches to choose from depending on how far you want to walk, and the cherry ice creams are a must, really nice resort.

Our first visit to Tenerife and all in all we enjoyed it. We stayed on the outskirts so a good half hour walk to centre and beach. Didnt like the black sand - you got filthy and it stains !!

We walked an extra 10 mins or so to a sandy beach. Paths in need of repair. Plenty for kids - 3 or 4 parks, trampolines, arcades etc they were never bored. Weather was perfect apart from last 2 days - constant heavy rain.

Resort was much much bigger than I expected and really spread out. Nice front and harbour and plenty of shops. Nice market on Sundays. We visited Jungle Park and enjoyed it - cheaper to buy tickets at tourist shops before you go rather than pay when you get there like we did !! You would think it would be other way round.

We couldnt find any entertainment near us - a few bars but only football in every single bar - so boring !! We would deffinately go back again but stay somewhere nearer the centre and beach and bars that actually play some music !!

We found clean and dirty in the area of Los Christianos.
Around the complex was clean and we did feel safe at night, however going towards town was a bit dodgy in areas, being very run down and dark, tho we never felt unsafe. Entertainment was really just music etc. coming from the bars, dont know if there was any nightclubs as we dont use them, but didnt see any.
The beach was clean with plenty of sunbeds and brollies and showers at regular intervals.
There was also some nice restaurants in the area, one being a chinese opposite the ferry port, [cant remember the name] the food was really tasty and good prices.
We did enjoy the holiday but wouldn't go back to this resort as we prefer Fuertuventura, but glad we tried this island.

The resort was fairly clean but undergoing some re-development on the seafront.

There was a good selection of resturants and bars with entertainment, We found a particularly good row of bars & places to eat right at the end of Los Christianos (not the vista's end). An excellent place was a small Indian resturant called The Taj Mahal, fantastic food, lovely people. Constant touting was a problem at first, just be polite but firm.

Black sandy harbour beach no good for swimming although slightly better at the Vista's end, quite a nice walk along the prom in the evening, Loads of shops, don't pay marked prices in the smaller shops, bartering for goods usually works!

We recommend going to Loro Parque? (think thats the name)Fantastic Birds of Prey Display. (but take something warm)gets cold up there!.

Los cristianos is not really my cup of tea, nothing against the place but I prefer venues a little off the beaten track where I can explore a little.

Unfortunately, teenage kids want to be in a complex where everything is instantly available and they can make friends with all the other "Kevins" and "Vickys". Los cristianos was ok, there are plenty of places to eat and drink.

I would recommend The Church and Greedy Pig and there was another place on the seafront near the harbour that does a top breakfast but I can't remember its name. The downside is that everywhere you go you seem to get pestered by people trying to push scratch cards at you or to drag you into their establishment.

I have said I wouldn't go there again, but there is nothing really wrong with the resort its just not my scene...

The centre requires revamping, pathways and prom have been used and abused by building traffic over the years.
The bars and restaurants are the heart of this resort and that makes it. Everything from Canarian to Indian. Prices are increasing rapidly since the introduction of the euro, maybe a bit of profiteering, still it's happening everywhere.
The beach is kept clean. Sunbeds and parasols are very expensive.
Drink one street back from the front and miss the view, but save a lot and enjoy a bit of local hospitality.
I've not named bars or restaurants, go and seek and enjoy.

Los Cristianos was much bigger than described in the brochures. It was very clean and tidy and we always felt safe in the evenings walking around. We were amazed by how many disabled people were there, I guess because it is flat and the promonade is wide and unobstructed all the way around to Las Americas. The bars and restaurants were very plentiful and extremely cheap, the cheapest of all the Canary Islands. Los Cristianos had a really nice, comfortable feel to it. I would definetely recommend this resort.

The harbour is very pretty and is an interesting place to spend an hour or two.

The cleanliness of the resort was good although the binmen were very noisy around 4am. Crashing and banging. There were a few cockroaches running around resort but not as many as in the complex.

The entertainment seemed to be quite basic in resort. There was lots of karaoke and pub quizzs. maybe we just didnt dig deep enough for the good entertainment.

I found the beach to be clean, fresh and spacious. You do have to hire your sunbeds and umbrella for a cost of 9€, andf you have to be off the beach by 5pm. There are lots of watersports to do and you have men coming around with fresh cold drinks such as coke, fanta, water. These men also sell food of doughnuts, fresh pinapple and fresh melon. The sea is also crystal clear.

I would visit this resort again but i would definately have to save up more money as i found this resort to be very expensive and you do not get much for your money. We found the average meal to cost between 25-30€. Other than that this resort is nice.

Los Cristianos was very clean in 1 week I saw 2 cockroaches.

The town centre was great as everything is aimed at families ie: playgrounds and trampolene's that stay open till very late. Bars that have all seating outside over looking the harbour.

Back streets with nice shops for gifts ect.one bar/resturant played the Pink Panther cartoons every night so on the way home we'd stop and watch a few my son loved it.

I wouldn't really recommend the beach at the harbour as you get a film of oil from all boats and you can smell it, so we went across the road to the vista beach which was lovely.

As a single parent I would go back to this resort as I had no problems what so ever I walked every where down back streets ect.

I would just like to highly recommend an Indian resturant called the star of India, we went twice because the food was fantastic even my son ate all his chicken korma and rice which was a god send. (Parents that holiday with young ones will understand that)

The entertainment would have been great if we were just a couple as there was nothing for our 4 year old. All the cabaret was geared towards adults and even the MC's let rip with the language.

We know to avoid Chubby Brown etc but the language was very bad when the compere was introducing Bryan Adams in Dreamers.

We did a lot of walking while on holiday in Los Cristianos and we noticed there were a lot of broken and missing tiles on many of the pavements. There was a lot of dog mess as well ("pooper scoopers" are obviously not in use in Tenerife yet!). There was always the added danger of tripping over rubber pipes which were draped across many of the pavements too.

We were not looking for a hectic night-life so the pubs with the local entertainment or karaoke, or no music at all were fine for us. (Try Yela's bar for a frosted beer glass- straight from the freezer- and a beautiful ice cold lager - bliss!)

The beach was clean and well cared for with ample sun beds for hire.

We don't expect to visit Los Cristianos again. We felt that everything was spread out a bit too much and even the souvenir shops were few and far between. The weather was fantastic though.

Los Christianos is generally clean, although there is alot of building work going on, such as new hotels etc, so sometimes it can look a bit messy in areas.

There is entertainment to suit all sorts, if you wanna get drunk, not a problem. If you want to enjoy a nice meal overlooking the sea, Not a problem.

If you fancy some karaoke or a few drinks & a disco or live music, again not a problem.

However, if you are looking to get out of you head every night & roll in at about 5 in the morning, i would NOT recommend this place, as its more Family orientated, with entertainment to match, go further up the coast to the Americas.

The beach is nice, although the first beach we saw was all rocks, the nice beach is a about 5 mins walk along the beach front.

Loads of shops to barter for electrical goods & Ciggies. Loads of nice & cheap places to eat. A good all round family resort.

I used factor 60 suntan lotion & still came back black.

Enjoy ! I did ;-))

We hope to come back next year.

The only warning i would give is to avoid the Touts trying to give you Scratchcards that always win, & you end up trying to be sold a membership to a holiday club.

Mostly the Touts were english, & a simple no thanks is fine, we found no need to be rude.

Beach is very clean but the sand is dark brown & makes a real mess of clothes. Sea is shallow & there are life guards so it is child friendly.

All the theme parks have free courtessey busses. We missed the bus one day so had to take a taxi. It was a real suprise when the taxi fare was only 5 Euros. We went to the Jungle Park & Aqualand. Both excellent but they get very busy. Tuesdays or Fridays are less crowded as most flights are on these days. Watch out for the prices of food / drinks in the parks though. You're not supposed to take picnics but everyone does.

Los cristianos is quieter than nearby playa de las americas, however, still has its own charm, consisting of bars with cabaret acts, without the rowdiness that is often associated with las americas. Its close enought to the nightlife of las americas without actually having to stay in the midst of it.
The best act on the island, without a doubt is paul stone, aka billy idol. He is an all round entertainer and frequents some of the bars in los cristianos. FIND HIM!
Los cristianos is also cleaner than las americas, and it has none of the seediness found in some areas of las americas!

Los Cristianos beats Las Americas by miles, it's less populated and really much better for family. There's an ample choice of activities, restaurants, bars, places of interest, shops and so on. The best thing is that for those people who want to go out and try out the Night life in Las Americas, it's close enough to walk to and there are taxis a plenty all night.

Only thing I can remind people of is to be more aware of pick pockets, pick pockets target tourists, but it's that way everywhere in the world, we just have to remember to be careful, not take unnecessary valuables out with us, and to always be aware of our surroundings.

Again reading loads of reviews about this resort and the amount of time share touts we were really supprised when in the 2 weeks we were there we did not come across a single one.

Ho ever you did get a lot of looky looky men trying to sell watches and jewllary and general crap, even when you are eating. Dont say a word just raise your hand and they will go away, as soon as you ask or look interested they will pounce on you as my husband found out.

Los Cristianos as a family resort was perfect for us, the bars and restaurants are plentifull and you can have a really cheap meal for 3 course's just 6 euros or if you want a really nice meal then a restaurant called Linea was brill, although a little expensive, but most nights we got a meal and drinks for 4 of us for under 50 euro.

There was also another restaurant along the front near Chicagos but for the life of me I cant remember its name. You cant miss it though its got a bright yellow sign look out for it.

Nice resort, friendly atmosphere, this is an resort made for holidays, locals are very kind and relaxed with us brits.

The supermarket is good , Nettos, the bus station is next to Nettos, easy to get around the island, but before you travel , take a map , and do your homework!

Get advice form your hotel about the right number buses and other places you want to go to.

Beaches are very clean harbour is very nice to. Restaraunts are really good , everyone wants you to eat in the resturants! really friendly!

Be aware of english residents trying to be your friend, they will tell you you've won 100 euros and a bottle of vodka! Then a pritty young english girl will walk you away for the seafront in to a quiet street and lead you in to a building . Dont go in ! and dont tell then you have credit cards with you! If they come up to you with smiles and put there hand out to greet you, just say ignore them.
other local traiders tring to sell your sunglasses are ok . you just say no . and they will leave you alone.

Sunday is a quiet day , not many shops open, apart from the shops on the front which are open.

This resort is a bit slower than Americas, loads of families in the resort, very safe atmosphere too.

I would love to go back , as I didnt want to leave!

Having never been to Tenerife before we were worried about the black sandy beaches, well that was a no worry at all.

We used the beach at Las Vistas about a 25 minute walk in the morning, excellent waters and lovely sand, mixture of volcanic black and imported yellow. The resort was easy to get around well maintained walkways and paths.

There were lots of beach front bars and cafes, the several we sampled were excellent value, we even dined out one evening where we had a great fish paella.

Would we go again to this resort and even this hotel, too right already looking at next spring.

Having never been to Tenerife before I didn't know what to expect but enjoyed the resort once there.

We were based in Los Cristianos which is a quieter area and in general had to walk a bit in the evening. There is quite a bit of developement going on although I have to say it didn't affect our enjoyment in the least.

A great restuarant called the Belvedere (up above the supermarket)the food was excellent and well priced and looks out over the rooftops to the sea. Also try Molino Blanco up by the water park, a bit more pricy but the atmosphere is worth the extra and you are entertained during the meal by a singing chef, pianist and violinist. If you're looking for a nice lunch stop try Ye Old English Tea Room. They have just set up this year and serve a very good hot roast beef sandwich and a good ploughmans.

Lovely resort, although not as lively as its neighbour Las Americas - good Irish bars and lots of bars with live entertainment - nice beaches, although felt ripped off paying for the sunbeds, you had to pay for an umberella even if you didn't want one. Lovely boat trips and the water park is recommended, although take some spare money because you have to pay for the sunbeds and water rings inside (not included in entrance fee)

There are plenty of restaurants/shops within easy walking distance. Restaurants to mention are Margarea's (just across the road) an excellent 3 course meal for 8.50 euros, Brilliante (chinese) Royal Oak, Charly's and Church Street just to name a few, you are spoilt for choice.

It is a shame there are so many shops/premises empty and in a delapidated state. You will be overwhelmed with the entertainment you can see but beware the cost of drinks at these venues usually rises in the evening to help pay for this.

The beach near the port is not very picturesque but if you carry on past the port a short walk is a loverly sandy beach with plenty of sunbeds and umberellas (9 euros for 2 sunbeds and 1 umberalls so a bit pricey).

We hope to go back at Easter.

Los Christianos is, I believe, one of the quieter resorts. Certainly there weren't any groups of twenty-somethings rolling about drunk.

The restaurants were a mixed bag of 'chicken and chips' types and more sophisticated (and more expensive) quality places.

Shopping opportunities were good for a small resort.

A very pleasant, relaxed non-threatening atmosphere. And the weather was fantastic.

Alot of bars have entertainment on most nights and there are lots of English bars that have most English football matches on! There is 1 rocky beach that is nearest the complex but if you walk futher round you will find a very good beach with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants right beside it. The beach provides a variety of water sports including jet skiing, scuba diving, pedalos, banana boats and parascending ( which i did and if was great!) We also visited the Aqua Park, this is a really good day out but take lots of sun cream because there isn't much shade! The slides are great fun and the Dolphin show is amazing. Me and my Mam payed 50E each to train the dolphins which was an amazing experience and was graet value for money!

Excellent value for money with ample choice of three course meals for 4.50 euros until 8.30pm then 6 euros until 10.00pm (the latter even dropped to 5.50 euros on the night we left). Bottle of house wine only 7.90 euros.
Good entertainment (sometimes three acts per night) and friendly efficient staff.

Also tried the Roma Italian restaurant along the promenade and enjoyed a great meal there. Can also highly recommend "Rosie's Cantina" - an excellent Mexican restaurant attached to the Royal Palms complex a short walk up the hill.

What can I say that hasn't been said before? Other than this was our 1st visit to Tenerife but definately not our last, we loved the place. From the shops, to the restaurants, although we didn't try any eating places that were not previously recommended through this site, we played safe and visited ones that people rated and we were not disappointed. We did not hire a car as we were only there for a week and we did intend it to be a relaxing break so after visiting the shops 1st thing in the morning, we spent the rest of the day into the early evening sunbathing, the weather was so lovely we just had to!! I would just like to add that by registering with this website it saved us a lot of time finding good restaurants and beaches and shops, every time I had a question it was answered almost immediately and was spot on every time. The members are so friendly that I have told everyone I know to register, I would certainly not book a holiday again without checking out the comments here, so a big thank you to everyone.

Had a great time in Los Cristianos. The beaches were great for families (you can walk all the way along the beach right round to Las Americas).

Some great cabaret bars that do good food and welcome children. Went to Dreamers which was good but spent most nights in O´Flaherty´s, great entertainment (don´t take the kids on Monday night, it is a woman called Vanessa Viagra and Chubby Brown - lots of swearing!). Saw a duo called BWB, absolutely brilliant. Apparently the place has new owners and there is a big difference from when we visited last year. Lot smarter, great cabaret and the food was wicked, they did lovely desserts (waffles etc) as well. Prices were reasonable and you can put the kids in the park outside while you relax.

All in all a great holiday. (Oh, the weather was good although we heard that it was awful at the end of Feb-beginning March). Will definitely return next year.

Los Cristianos has many good restaurants at every level from cheap to expensive we tried both and the food was of good standard in each one. Our only critism is the food is never really piping hot. Although the food is very cheap you will find that some of the drinks make your bill more than you would expect eg: breakfast was 2.50 euros we had 2 beakfasts 2 coffee's and a pint of local beer (truly British!!) and it came to 12.50 euros.

The side street next to Burger King for a bit more upmarket meal. A cheap meal is in a place called The Church. We had a couple of cheap meals drink is about average English prices but stronger spirits mostly doubles. The entertainment is good and a must is the Blues Brothers show. So funny.

We travelled everywhere on the bus, bus terminus not far the fares are very cheap and you can't get lost.

Beware of timeshare scratch cards just keep walking and say no politly.

We have just returned and the weather was awful the Spanish have never had weather quite like it we've had rain, sunshine, very high winds and heavy snow in the mountains which on a clear day is very visible.

However we still had a fantastic holiday and have not been put off going this time of year again

There is always entertainment, especially in the english bars although we did find that as we were there from December through to January, things did start to quieten down, beach very good and clean.

Overall the resort is a lovely place for both family and couples, so much so we are looking to purchase a property in Los Christianos.

Everyone so friendly and the Canarians never find anything a problem, Linares Bar at the harbour, is an ideal place, just to sit and watch the world by, listing to the gentleman playing his Louis Armstrong covers, great....

Not much money seems to be spent on the roads and pavements in the Los Cristianos area, although the main road down into the town from the motorway has been repaired and looks almosts ready to open.

Over the last 14 years we have noticed hundreds of defects in pavements, kerbs, road surfaces, etc, that seem to go unchecked every year. They don't have the UK 'compensation culture' there, so nobody appears to be bothered.

You really need to keep your eyes on the area ahead of you all the time, especially when walking. This is an exercise where you can normally keep looking from side to side at shops, sites, etc, but the damaged areas of pavements are numerous and you can easily trip up. This is especially so in the town areas.

The local council have made lots of improvements to the coastal walkway which stretches from Los Cristianos to Calleta. This walkway is especially helpful to disabled visitors in wheelchairs because they can travel a large distaance without encountering steps.

The resort of Los Cristianos is nice, nicer than it's near neighbour Playa de las Americas but not a patch on Puerto De La Cruz.

The people outside bars and restaurants trying to get you in are a constant pain but that happens in most popular beach holiday resorts now and in truth it's not as bad as other places. One little game you can play with them is as they talk to you drag them along to the front of another bar/restaurant and stop. There's an unwritten rule in the trade that states you cannot attract customers from in front of another restaurant/bar, if they break their boundries then all hell can break loose. The hilarity of being stood 6 foot away from a guy who was selling his place to us, but after being clocked by an employee of his neighbouring bar encroaching on his patch he had to stop talking, reminded me of the Tom and Jerry cartoon where Tom marks out how long the dogs chain is and stands just far enough away to mock the dog but the dog can't get him.

There is the weekly market in the south of the resort each Sunday, it's riddled with pick pockets so you've got to be careful. Some very good 'fly-pitcher' style sellers on there if you like their art of selling.

Some nice restaurants, we went in a Chinese one night and had their "all you can order" menu, they actually serve you with the food and at €6.50 it seemed like a mad bargain that was too good to be true, but the food was fantastic. One way they made their money back was through the obvious high price of drinks and the long delay in serving you your courses, our drinks order was more than our food order. I can't remember the name of the restaurant but it's on the square where Burger King is and it's the one thats accessible from the back and is on the first floor, some great views of the port and the sea-cats coming in and going out.

Also I'd like to give huge praise to Air Malta. We flew from Manchester with them and their timekeeping was magnificent, as is usually the case with all Air Malta scheduled flights (MyTravel = long delays in my experience). I've a lot of time for Air Malta and I hope they continue to grow and take more slots to destinations other than their own beautiful Isle.

The resort of los cristianos is very nice, a bit quieter than las americas but still rather lively in centre and along the seafront. There are loads of resturants, bars and shops. We recommend little Italy restaurant, it is very nice and not expensive.

You will see a lot of little Italy’s scattered around the island and everywhere is cheap to eat out. Los cristianos centre is about a 20min walk from hotel but it’s uphill on way back so it’s best to get a taxi.

Be careful in the taxis as they will put tariff on 3 when they know you are English, they are pretty cheap though. There are loads of shops, bars and restaurants in the centre which lead to the harbour and beach. They run all alongside the seafront until you reach las americas, which is only about 25 min, walk along sea front. Which is very lively untill 8am!

I must warn you about a electrical shop on the sea front in las americas called Prince electronice!! Stay away. We decided to buy a Sony camcorder for €250. They then tried to sell us a mustek camcorder which they made sound so good. They wanted €950 for it and we got them down to €450 (big drop/very dodgy) we paid them €200 in travel chq and €250 cash. Then after we paid they said they wanted another €250!! I said no and told them to give me my money back. He said it was too late as he already put travel chq through machine! American express wouldn’t help either. Then just to top it of, we went in another electric shop on los cristianos sea front and the same camera was for sale for €90!!!! So be very carefull and shop around. It’s best to go to proper electral shops like Sony gallery.

Everywhere you go you get African ladies trying to braid your hair, they get so annoying! I decided to get hair extensions so I went to a salon called dream afro in las americas. She used real hair and done a great job and only charged €200 in total for the hair and two hours of her time.

I would defiantly recommend her. The salon is behind la siesta hotel in las americas, there is a shopping centre. If you go up the stairs and turn right, go past the first salon and it’s just after.

There is a market every Sunday in los cristianos centre which is very good, but get there early as it gets very busy. And keep cash in front pockets as a lot of pick pockets in Tenerife! We found a shop on the seafront which sells 200 cigarettes for €15 which was the cheapest we found.

The beaches are all very clean and nice and there are a lot of places to get cold drinks. When on nights out you get many English people trying to get you in bars and say they will get you free drinks, they are best ignored. We would recommend Yates was very good and a bar called Kristy’s, which you must walk through linerkers bar to the back to get to.

Also there are two clubs next to each other called Bobbies and busbies which play R&B music. We was told a club calls rags was good but we never went there. If you get to drunk it’s only around €6 for a taxi home to Paradise Park!! It can be a long walk home.

If you’re looking for designer clothes we discovered it’s not any cheaper than UK unless you buy fakes. They also have a footlocker which is a bit cheaper! Overall it was a wicked holiday and would defiantly recommend it. We are defiantly going back again this year and will probably stay in the same hotel again... Weve made some Spanish friends and still keep contact.

I dont now if it was because of the time of the year but it was really dead with nothing much to do but sunbathe. It seemed like there was lots of roads being built and lots of derelict ground. The best day out is the Aqua Park with the brilliant dolphin show, but apart from that the boat trip to see the whales just made everyone feel sea sick. The weather was quite chilly and overcast. I overheard people complaining about having to pay full price for their 12 year olds to go in theme parks and pick pockets when they got there so please be aware.

Los Cristianos was just like any British sea side resort but with good weather and alot cleaner. Everywhere was clean and well kept but with quite alot of building work in progress. Every possible British style of eatery was on offer with the odd sea food restaurant. resort entertainment revolved around karaoke and the same group of entertainers doing the circuit, all of which were very good. The beach was very clean and child friendly. All in all, Los Cristianos is an excellent place to visit with a young family as every whim is catered for. If you're a lager lout looking to go clubbing, Los Cristianos is a little sleepy for that, and all the better for it. With the proximity to the airport this makes an ideal destination for families as the transfer times were only 20 minutes. I'd definitely visit Los Cristianos again.

A lovely family resort or a resort for those who don't want to be right in the middle of the action/noise.

Plenty of places to eat, althought avoid the all you can eat Chinese banquets as we got food poisoning at one of these!!!

Lots of handbag, shoe, perfume and liquor stores but not a lot else. Seems to be where all the Brits go to hide from the winter as every other shop or bar is selling full English breakfast or English products. Where do all the Spanish people go to eat??

However for those who don't want to have to speak the "lingo!" its a great place as everyone speaks English.

The resort of Los Christianos is very clean considering all the building work going on throughout the resort. The last time we were here was ten years ago and could not believe the changes. Yes it is quieter than Playa de las Americas but there are plenty of shops and bars and restaurants but Playa de las Americas is so near you have plenty of choice. The paths are steep in places and we used to walk down into the resort and then get a taxi back which used to cost around 6 euro's which is not much to pay even if it is every night.

There are two beaches, the best is Playa Vista (check the web cam out.)

Spent most evenings at Georges bar on the front live music rocked until 2am.

There is a large selection of good restaurants to choose from and good prices, the only problem is the lookey lookey men and women, just a polite no or no eye contact does the trick.

Had a wonderful time, going back in 2005 see you then.

We visited a few beaches and enjoyed them a lot. We visited the Aqua Park which had an excellent dolphin show - the best I have seen including Sea World. The place was a rip off - pay for entrance, sun beds, rings, lockers and queues for everything.

Food in Los Christianos was excellent - £40 a night was buying a 1st class meal for 4 of us (you could eat a lot cheaper).

All in all a good place and we would probably go back.

It was our first time in Los Cristianos and would probably go back again in a few years time. It was mostly on the flat and handy for pushing the buggy around. Plenty of nice restaurants to choose from and some good bars. Enjoyed the Bluebell bar best. Staff were friendly and entertainment in there was always good.

There was some repair and construction work going on while we were there but didnt create any major problems although there was a bit of litter flying about in some places. Not sure if due to that or litter louts!

Went to jungle park just outside Los Cristianos which was good. Not as big or grand as Loro Parque but great nonetheless. Also went a whale and dolphin cruise and it was excellent. Saw loads and we were only out on the shortest 2 hour trip.

Los cristianos is an old fishing village which has been commercialised it has a variety of pubs and restaurants for the more family/relaxing holiday, although the party nightlife is only a very short taxi ride away in Las Americas. I have been going to the island since i was nine and we used to stay in the quiet end of Las Americas when we were younger but have stayed in various places through Las Americas until mum and dad bought the apartment in Los Cristianos. I have never had a problem with it as i have known what i am getting from the holiday and there is everything you want to do from horse riding and golf to zoos, animal parks, aqua park, pamper spas and clubbing. You cannot fault it, its very easy to find the information on all activities also!

Even though I say we wouldn't visit the resort again, we still had a great time here - it's just that we have seen it and there's not much more to see. The resort is not as pretty as some of the other resorts we have visited, it is very commercialised and the beach front is rather disappointing. The wall that separates the beach from the walkway is painted a horrible blue colour and makes it look almost Butlins like. Some of the side streets had lovely restaurants though and some nice shops. All in all we didn't have one bad meal - the food was good.

The resort of Los Cristianos is excellent. Away from the hussle and bussle of Las Americas (but close enough by taxi if you like that). Excellent bars and restaurants, personal recommendations would be the paella at The Paile boat and the lamb and steak at the El Brassero. The resort has got cleaner every time I have been and this was no exception. We did catch a glimpse of the odd cock roach but not in the restaurants or bars which we frequented. Los Cristianos is an excellent place for a family holiday. Really clean and the beach is superb. We really recommend the area of San Telmo. Some great english bars and eating areas, especially Goodfellas. Do not buy tickets for Aqualand from the anywhere other than the place itself. It's 21 euros in for the day on the door but you can get a ticket for 6 days for only 30 euros, taxi's are only 3 or 4 euros and they are quicker than the free buses.
Well recommended would visit the area again.

Los Cristianos is in need of a huge revamp. Work is ongoing, but it really does look tired and scruffy. They need to really shift themselves and get it done. Still a nice resort though.

We used the beach by the harbour, and apart from tatty sun umbrellas, a lovely beach.

Trips to Loro Parque, Las Aguilas, and a Dolphin-spotting boat trip were all lovely days out, with the ultimate high spot being my 2-yr old being picked to take part in the Dolphin show in Loro Parque!! She got to stroke the dolphins and get pulled around in a boat by them, lucky little thing!!

I had 2 children 4 and 9 and found nothing to entertain them at all. All we could find was restaurants, karaoke and singer impersonators.

We could find no discos that children could go into later (after 11pm). My son got very good at pool as that’s all we could find for him!! All the bars are very spread out and so you would have to do a lot of walking about to visit then all.

The main beach is darker sand but it looks in to a harbour and you are swimming in boat fumes!! Abit further on was golden sands beach which was a lot nicer, worth the extra few steps.

May be the resort may be better in the height of the season but I will not be going to find out!!!

The beach was beautiful altough the sunbeds and parasols were a bit expensive at 3 euros per item, that was 12 euros a day for us as a family. A word of warning occasionally big waves hit the beach and catch people out therefore a lot of people and their belongings get wet,as they are sunbathing to near the sea.

Also when you are swimming the waves can be very powerful and can easily knock you over so be careful.I would visit this resort again and much nicer than PDLA

Eating out was good. We tried various places and found three which were more than good. The Church was excellent, cheap and good quality. Not sure of the name of other place but it was on the front in the square under the chinese restaurants, similar quality to The Church, good food, big portions. Laslty, we spent most of the time in a bar called Harbour Lights, lovely family which run this, originally from Wolverhampton. Cheap beer, 1 euro a pint of the local Dorada. Food cooked by an english chef too. This was located just down from The Church oposite the sunday market. Lots of English locals drink here too and between them all they made us feel very welcome. We would highly recommend you try this place out.

Beware if you are going to buy any electrical items. They are all a load of con artists in the town. On a number of occasions we got to the point of buying the sony DVD camcorder we wanted only to be persuaded to purchase a cheaper model which in the end was in fact more money as well. If you want electrical stuff you are better off going to Puerto De La Cruz, when you tell them the one you want that is the one you get. Perhaps get a bit of patter and the offer to purchase extra items, but a lot less hassle overall.

We love Tenerife and have travelled here on many occasions. Although we had a good holiday, I would not perhaps visit the Atlantida again, but would highly recommend the resort.

Los Christianos is like the Beirut area of Tenerife. The beach is ok, there are a few good pubs and shops, but it wasn't that great. There were loads of cockroaches in the streets too - probably because of the overflowing bins.

Some good Chinese restaurants.

It looks like the resort was probably great in the sixties, but little has been done to it since then - it is a relic. We were also hassled once a minute by people trying to sell sunglasses, watches etc.

The resort Los Cristianos is a fabulous place for a family holiday. There is a beautiful long beach and a range of English bars and resteraunts along the promenade. If you visit the centre it is worth paying a visit to the Wonderful Churchills bar, for a night of kareoke, bingo and so on.

Los Cristianos is beautiful and ideal if you don't like the idea of a very busy Las Americas

Were very disappointed with Los Cristianos. Particular problems with dog dirt on the pavements. Couldn't walk through the resort without getting hassled by 1. Hair braiders 2. Lookey-lookey's 3. Timeshare touts 4. Waiters hassling you to eat at their restaurants 5. People selling puppets/glow earrings, etc. Can someone tell me why bar/restaurant owners don't put a stop to these people being allowed to enter their establishments and hassle you whilst eating your meal/having a drink?. Shop staff also seem to take a particular dislike to children looking at goods in their shops - quite happy to take their money though!. We won't be returning to Los Cristianos or Tenerife because of all of this - we'd rather spend our hard-earned cash somewhere that actually welcomes you & I'm not in the least surprised at the decline in visitors numbers as Tenerife has become blase about how important British tourism is for the island. Shame!.

Los Cristianos is mainly shops, restaurants, cafes and bars, with the bars providing singers, and televised sports events and home soaps i.e Coronation Street, etc.

THe beaches are clean and seem to have adequate facilites.

The only draw back is the number of 'Time Share Touts' who will insist that they are not selling time shares, but by the time they finish their little speech, you realise its the same thing; New name.

Other than that, it was an enjoyable holiday...

There are not many Timeshare Touts here now like there used to be, but you still get the JIMMYS trying to sell you watches and chains at ASDA PRICES.

all in all a nice place to spend your evenings wandering around the narrow streets up behind the church.

There may be many good things we missed in Los Christianos due to the layout of the place. There seemed no particular centre just a few sporadic pockets of activity. Plenty of bars and restaurants but quality a bit hit and miss. Beach itself was kept pretty clean but sunloungers and umbrellas very second hand, but more worryingly sea itself not very clean at Playa de las Vistas, didn't go to other beach as is was in the ferry port. Usual amount of people pestering you to buy junk but most took no for an answer, apart from the Chinese, this was most annoying while you were eating. No more cockroaches than you would expect at this latitude, but if you see the one that picked my pocket please stamp on him.

Long flat walkways but lots of broken paving slabs and dog mess! Mainly tourist shops and restaurants, the staff of which would pester you everytime you walked by to come in and eat. You could not walk anywhere without people pestering you! Entertainment confined mainly to bars with acts on and restaurants. Some kind of building work being carried out on beach area so noise can be a problem. Harbour area interesting and various trips on offer, it pays to compare prices and times available. Having said all that it came over as a friendly place and trips to various interests are easily available. It all depends on your level of tolerance!

Bar prices and restaurants about the same as Spain, Majorca (theres no such thing as a cheap holiday since they all went to Euros!) good selection of shops but all sell the same. There is a good market if your into fake designer gear - Gucci watches 10 euros calv clien and burberry tops etc (probably last one wash). Aqua park vey good and the free dolphin show in there is excellent. Whale watching trips from the harbour was good but half the 50 people on board were sick as dogs.

There are two lovely sandy beaches - one 5 mins walk, the other 10 mins -you can keep going of course and discover more,as you can walk for miles along the seafront right through Las Americas - we strolled along one day right through to Puero Colon about 5 miles -got a taxi back for 4 euros. There are loads of places to eat no matter what your taste, I had the best vegetarian food - and my friend said the steaks and fish were great. Wide price range to suit all pockets. Lots of bars have live music which stops at midnight, some bars stay open very late but you have to sit inside but it's only about a 4 euro taxi ride to nightclubs in Las Americas. Loads of things to go and see if you want - but Los Cristianos is just a great place to chill out. We loved the dancing fountains - it's a music, light and fountain show - on every evening - and its free! We sat and watched from the terrace of Harry's Cocktail bar - sadly they weren't free!

Los Cristianos is a lovely resort. There is a cosmopolitan ambience about the evenings in the open air restaurants in the centre where you can sample particulary fine fresh local fish. There are plenty of bars, none apparently too rowdy and for the best beach on Tenerife you should venture beyond the harbour beach, past the harbour itself under a pedestrian tunnel where you will find a half mile stretch of broad golden sandy beach, which, although man made is clean, gently shelving and very handy for the promenade cades and bars for lunch. This resort is ideal for couples with young families who want good beaches and the chance to sample good eateries and lively bars that are not the scene for vomitting teenage brits.

Los Cristianos has plenty of different types of restaurants for all tastes. Some of the pavements could do with a clean but all in all it is a much safer place than Los Americas which is close by. The harbour area is pleasant and the ferries run often and there are several trips available to see the dolphins etc. Sometimes the youngsters selling holiday vacations {what was timeshare} can be a nuisance but a polite no thank you usually worked.

We only visited playa once (this was in the daytime- it was completely dead) and found it absolutely disgraceful. Traces of the rowdy night before were left everywhere- sick, the stench of urine, empty alcohol cans, broken glass. It was awful! A total contrast to Los Cristianos which had gorgeous long white beaches, lots of restaurants and cafe's to suit everyones tastes, nice little boutique type shops which again cater for everyone- from sport wear, to surf wear, to designer clothes.
The only negative I would say about the resort is walking along the promenade you find yourself being pulled in every direction by people trying to get you to eat in there restaurant or buy a time share, or jewellery and various other nick nacks. However as annoying as that is, they were generally all very polite and took no for an answer and as you get further into the holiday and you get a deeper tan they do back off a bit.
I'd definately go back to the resort and i'd really like to re visit the princesa dacil, especially to see if it's changed at all. I'd definately reccomend the hotel as on the whole it's absolutely fantastic however if you go away on holiday expecting the highest standards of food, this hotel perhaps isn't for you.

One of the first things we notice on arrivimg in los cristanios was how clean the streets were, everyday they were swepted. The resort was perfect for us being a family there were plenty of restaurants etc to choose from and the local people were very friendly they loved the children. A policeman even stopped to allow mine and my sisters children to sit on his bike and have their photo taken with him. I really liked the harbour beach as it was very calm which i felt at ease with because of the children. We all enjoyed the atmosphere of the streets at night and the fact we are returning there for our next holiday says it all i would highly recommend this resort to anyone.

Having been to Tenerife for the past 18 years I can see how hotel development has eroded the singular character of Los Cristianos and joined it to PdLA, sad. There is still lots of building work going on up into the hills but none of it seems to disturb your stay at the Reveron. LC itself is laid back or lively, depends where you go. It offers some pleasant scenery and walks and the area around the harbour is in a world of it's own.
If you want late night/early morning clubbing/drinking etc you will find plenty a cheap taxi ride away in PdLA.

If there was a grumble about the Beverley Hills Club it was the locatrion, great for those wanting to keep fit, definitely not for those with walking difficulties, right at the top of a long steep hill, just the thing for walking off the evening meal. Restaurants and bars were scattered about nearby but the best ones were about a mile walk away, up and down the aforementioned hills !

We have been to Los Cristianos several times now and fing the resort to have everything a family needs to have a good relaxing time.

The kids love some of the theme type bars that offer music , fum and games. There is a policy of loud music being turned down to a reasonable level at I think midnight and because of this you are not trouble at night with loud disco's etc.

The usual black market retailers are present and although they keep themselves to themselves for the most part, it is a little bit annoying when they start to come into the areas that you are dining out in to tout there wears.

The beaches tend to have the black sand which is fine but puts some people off. The beach in Los Cristianos is also the harbour and as such we were not sure how oil free the water may have been.

The resort we stayed at was beautiful, there was no problems at all with it. It is probably one of the best places i have ever stayed at,and most beautiful. Not far from where we stayed was a long corner of shops, and the beach was right there as well. Very relaxing to just walk at night time. A peaceful and lovely area further to the top, where you can just sit down facing the beach. In los christionas, there wasen't really a lot of things to do a part from a few areas of shops and surroundings, but it was a really nice are to stay at. Great for familys. We did like playa las americas a little bit better. Has there wasen't too much noise there as it said there was. And more shops. This was one of the best resorts ever, stay here, its wonderful.

Resort was well serviced with pubs, restaurants and shops.
Timeshare touts were NOT too aggressive.
The walk to Playa de las Americas was easy (and invigorating) although the touts became more nnoticeable as we progressed.

We cannot fault Los Christianos, we are not ones for English bars/clubs or any music, we wanted a quiet relaxing holiday away from the hustle and bustle of working life. We went to Playa once - got caught by the time share touts and we were glad to get back to Los Christianos - we heaved a sigh of relief when we got back 'home'

A pleasant resort a lot cleaner than Los Americas it is a quiet resort but not dead there are lots of local bars and restaurants in the town offering all types of music mostly live.
plenty of shops of all types.
The prominade goes from Christianos to well past Los Americas it will take you hours to go all the way and back, but all level and a nice stroll out.
The airport is only about 4 miles away but the planes are not heard.

The resort of Los Christianos was excellent. It was a real family place and we perfectly safe walking around at night. We found several bars which provided free caberet entertainment every night until 12.00pm and that's when all the loud stuff finished which was just right. You could walk for miles and find lovely beaches and plenty of bars and restaraunts. The harbour provided some good boat trips one of which garanteed that you see whales and we did!!!! There were about a dozen and they were amazing!!!The only downfall was the Africans trying to sell you watches, sunglasses and chains and they did pester even when you were sitting having a drink they would keep coming round and showing you what they had to sell.

The resort itself was quite quiet, lots of nice bars and restaurants. Food and drink very cheap, although we did eat some very nice meals which were a bit more expensive, but still a lot cheaper than at home. The beach was nice and clean, we only went to the one with yellow sand the other one was a bit rocky. It only costs 4 euros in a taxi to go to Las Americas beach if you prefer. We went to see the volcano which was spectacular.

The biggest problem we had is from timeshare sellers, they say its not timeshare but it is. Don't scratch any cards you can't get rid of them. There are also loads of people trying to sell you watches and sunglasses etc but they do go away if you say no thanks and don't get into conversation with them.

The cleanlines was not very good there was litter everywhere and there was cats and their poo everywhere.

There are loads a looky looky men everywhere asking you if you want to buy a watch or what ever.

There wasn't any enertainment just men asking you to go to their restaurants and bars and they wouldn't take no for an answer.

The beach was fine but there was loads a cat poo everywhere and wasn't very clean.

There were men trying to sell people fruit and other stuff.

The crime was bad and the police don't care and they are every unhelpful.

We will be comeing back soon!

The resort is great, many fantastic restaurants fabulous never had a bad meal.

However, we were also robbed outside the Comodoro apartments. They took my husbands wallet containing £200 from his front trouser pocket. These people come up to you and try to give you some sort of leaflet, they then drop the leaflets on the floor and as they are picking it up they distract you by touching your knee and then somehow take your wallet. We heard many storys after this and many people had been robbed whilst walking in broad daylight.

Anyone going to this resort, be on your guard and do not give anyone the opportunity to stop you in the street, including english timeshare touts.

Resort we thought was dirty lots of stray dogs and cats which meant lots of excrement about.

Entertainment didn't really find any but we didn't want any. Beach was clean and near and handy.

Resort is nice for families who don't want the nightlife like the youngsters!!
