The beach a bit dirty in areas. Plenty of boat trips on offer and i recommend Sandys. Loads of restaurants to chose from the windy bay is cheap with a good family menu.We loved our holiday in turkey and we have booked again this year.

Warning- street paving not great at all. A few holiday makers come back from the place with a broken ankle. So be careful!!

I have Holidayed in Gumbet for the past 8 years, since my daughter was 2yrs old. We are not clubbers, we like to walk and browse, we like bars and restraunts and Gumbet has something for everyone. The shop/restraunt owners are a bit annoying trying to get you in their places.
The sea is really nice and there is a keep out area along the shore line for the jetski's and boats, the beach is sandy but a little pebbly. Its a £1 bus trip into Bodrum which has fantastic shopping and Restraunts and the beautiful castle.The best hotels are those along the beach. The resort of Bitez is just a £1 bus ride and its got a better beach.

gumbet, there were so many clubs in gumbet we did not venture into bodrum. again the people were friendly and we danced dust til dawn. definetly turkish paradise

the resort is ace...it has everything a resort could need...shops, bars, restaurants and also just out of town there is a nite club for the younger tourists..the beach is lovelyy white sands and beautiful water with all day patrol so you are always safe..you dont need to get up from sun bathin as there is always a member of staff to get you a drink if you require one...overall it is the best holiday place i have ever been to...can't wait to go back again..

The resort of Gumbet was nice, although the beaches where not to impressive. Boat trips where fun and worth doing. People very friendly, watch out for the random people walking around trying to sell you things, they can be very pushy just tell'em to s*d off. :-)

gumbet is a smallish resort but still has enough for just about everyone. theres loads of bars,resteraunts,cafes of styles to suit all ages. shopping is fantastic & for an ever bigger choice you are only a short dolmus trip away from bodrum or turugretis market(sat). the beach in gumbet is not very spectacular - rough sand and very narrow but theres room for sunbeds and the water appeared very clear. loads of water sports available & boat trips.
we had a great time & would go back any time.

we stayed in gumbet.we found the general cleanliness good,no rubbish on the floor.the beach beds were washed every morning.we did,nt look for entertainment as such but were impressed by the standard of the restaurants.we will be visiting again.

The resort had lots to offer, many many restaurants within walking distance of the hotels, plenty of cheap transport, drivers are a bit crazy tho!

Gumbet has loads of Karaoke bars, but they're all the same really. The Windy Bay restaurant is a favorite with lots of people, they cannot be faulted. You can pick up plenty of knocked off designer gear for pennies, advise is to bring some English money with you as you can usually get more for it. Don't forget to haggle at the market stalls, and be prepared to walk away, as they will come running after you. Watch out for the shoe shine boys on the beach who will try to clean your shoes without your permission, and then rip you off for it.

The beach is narrow, and has lots of dogs on it. Sun loungers belong to specific hotels, and you cannot walk along the boardwalk without being hounded for boat trips. Turksih baths and many other private trips can be booked along the beach, so shop around.

There is a nightclub called Hallicarnes, or something like that. It's an 'open air' club (which means it has no roof) it looks like a big castle this too is within walking distance. The club was shut when we went to Turkey, but we heard that it is good from the other guests.

It is hard to get away from the locals who try to sell you something and they get offended if they see you buying from another stall, but don't let what they say get to you. My advise is to go out there with a fake tan as you don't get bothered half as much, and learn to just keep walking, even tho you feel rude.

Last of all, I suggest you bring your climing boots if you intend walking as the resort is VERY VERY hilly, and can be quite hard work in the mid-day sun. It is hard to find shade, and a shop that sell water from a fridge. Bring books and games, as buying magazines and newspapers is very expensive because they're imported.

gumbet was nice although quite a family place which was not entirley what we were expecting. everyone was very friendly and the security was high also, very nice, going back next year.

the resort in some places were very dirty but on the whole not bad entertainment loads something for everyone beach is very pebbly but if you pay 10.000.000 tl(£3.90) in a taxi and go to bitez beach it is quite cheap and the beach is more sandy we have enjoyed our holiday so much i arrived back this morning and booked again for sept i would recomend not only the resort but the jasmin for its overall freindly atmosphere 1 tip when shopping in the town you get hassled by every shop keeper just tell them you go home tomorrow they leave you alone

Every morning we went for our breakfasts to the Cafe de Columbia for a full English of 2 eggs, 2 sausages, 2 bacon,beans, tomatoes and mushrooms, 2 toast, mug of tea, lovely. For our evening meals we went to The Mistral for steak cooked perfectly. You can even change your money there. We really liked the Resort, everyone is really friendly. There is a lovely walkway along the beach from the Jasmin to the various restaurants and bars. We went to see The Dream Girls, a drag act and they were very good and you also get a meal and your first drink free. We loved it there and we are planning to go back again next year for sure.

I've been going to Gumbet every year since 1996, and I spent 4 whole summers living there til 2002. The resort is very lively, but also great for families. The roads and pavements have improved loads in the past 2 or 3 years, and the streets are cleaned early each morning.

For entertainment, there is something for everyone. Bar Street is best avoided if you are a family, but the bottom end of Bar Street has a few good bars which welcome and cater for children, and Adnan Menderes street is brilliant - my 3-year old loved The Roxy - she calls is the "dancing bar" cos thats what you do there! Smileys and The Corner bar are very close by, and all 3 are similiar for entertainment - good food, dancing and singing waiters, and good family fun. There used to be "noise police" who roamed the streets of Gumbet at about midnight, checking noise levels weren't too high from the bars, but I didn't see any this time, and I have to admit, the bars did get a bit too loud with their music for me. I like to be able to talk to people, not have to shout at them!

The beach at Gumbet has never been particularly good, the best bit for paddling and sand quality is at the Magnific hotel end of the bay. The beach is a mixture of sand and small pebbles, there are loads of sunbeds all along the beach, some of them are free of charge. All sorts of watersports take place from Gumbet beach, and you can book a boat trip too.

As a lot of my friends still live in Gumbet, no doubt I will be back - at the latest next year, but hopefully later this season.

The weather was hot, hot, hot and the resort of Gumbet had everthing we needed, restaurants, nightlife, beach, watersports and shops, and they were all so close to the hotel.

the resort was really nice it had everything near by i couldnt moan about a thing!.

We stayed on the edge of Gumbet - about 10 minutes walk away from the centre.

The atmosphere in the centre is a bit like a giant fairground - lots of lights and music. There are lots of bars and restaurants - something to suit everyone.

Lots of shops selling mainly jewellery/imitation designer clothes etc. They all try to get you in to their shops and restaurants but we found if you decline politely with a wave and a smile - they don't pester you.

We arrived at 4am in the morning and there still seemed to be plenty of people sitting drinking in bars/strolling the streets and even some of the shops were still open.

It feels a very safe place - we saw no trouble of any kind and everyone seemed to be having a good time.

The beach is fairly narrow in parts and a bit shingly - so don't come here if you like a big golden sandy beach.

Everywhere is very clean - we saw quite a few dogs around the resort - but all well fed and mostly sleeping - they never bothered anyone - and we never saw one bit of dog poo!

Everyone we met (shop workers/waiters/bar persons etc) were all extremely charming and friendly - even if you didn't buy anything.

the resort itself was a very nice place to stay all of the locals were very pleasent and the other hotels and bars were very welcoming and invited you to come into and use their facilities. it was just a short ride into bodrum which was packed full of activities to do

I found the resort a very friendly and clean place. There was lots to do and many diffrent shops and bars to choose from. The beach is quite small but clean. I found the entertainment in the bars fun and enjoyable.

I will defanetly be back next year!!

Unfortunately with 2 young children I didn't get a chance to enjoy the resort entertainment, we went for our evening meals mainly to the Mistrel which is next door to the Windy Bay cause the staff were very friendly and the kids under a certain age ate for free, so we didn't mind if they did not eat their meal.
The beach near the hotel was not of the best standard, but, as you walked further round it did improve greatly.
The resort was very clean and would certainly return to Gumbet in the future.

This was our 4th time in Gumber, its a super place to holiday. Good beach, lots to do for all ages ifyou look for it. The Turkish people are very friendly.

Turks love to bargain so don't ever pay the asking price, always haggle.

the resort itself has grown over recent years and yet it has not lost it's friendly atmosphere. thee are numerous places to eat and i have to say i never had a bad meal over the two week i was there. there are far too many bars to get around in one stay - so i'm thinking of going again this year.... the staff are employed to try and get you to eat in their particular restuarant so will ask you to come in and try eating there, but a polite 'no thanks' or i've already eaten' seems to suffice and let's face it, most of the countries i've been to lately all practice the same way of getting you into their particular bar etc. The beack curves gently around the bay and is not made of pure white sand but is clean and in most places you can get into the sea without any trouble from stones etc. i have been to gumbet 5 times now and have visited lots of other countries in between but i still come back to gumbet and when i see bodrum castle it's beginning to feel like seing the tyne bridge after being away from home for awhile!! Oh and prices are still cheaper than england for both food and drink, but i did notice that they are starting to raise the prices especially in more tredy bars - shame really.

The resort was lively and exciting with lots of entertainment and shops. DON'T miss the Dreamgirls show It's Brill!!

We had a great time at this resort, everything we where looking for in a holiday.We found the local people very friendly and helpful.Small beach but very relaxed atmosphere and the benefit of free sunbeds.Great for holiday bargains.

BEACH- It's sandy, but not good quality sand. The sea bed, is stoney, and as my snorkling friend said, boring. It is a man made beach with nothing much to look at. The beach does get better the further round the centre of Gumbet you go, and as far as I am concerned a beach is a beach.

SHOPPING- The owners will come onto the street and ask you to enter, but not in as bad a way as I thought. Yes, they want your money, but they are extremely friendly and polite and know they have to accept no if you are to return. My mates bought loads of Louis Vitton/Gucci/Dior fakes for cheap prices. We were told to get around half of the original quoted price, but I felt we could have got even more. Just walk out the shop, and they'll soon meet your price.

FOOD- Best kebab was a Doner Pitta from No Name Kebab, and only cost £1.50. Best food/sevice was at Cafe de Columbia. Go for the Porter House Steak. It's 20oz, cooked how you like it, tender, and only £8! We managed to get a free round of drinks and 2 bottles of wine every time.

EXCURSIONS- The only place to get them from is Sandy. She has a little hut on the beach near Jasmin, and came here from England 12 years ago. She is extremely friendly and will give you no bull. Go on her boat trip. It is only £8 and your guarenteed lots of space and reasonable priced drinks. The free food was gorgeous. Try some Watersports on Camel Beach. Sandy also recommended the Cafe de Columbia mentioned above, and we booked the Aqua Park through her which was another great day out (try the Kamakazi slide!) For a Turkish bath catch the bus to Bodrum and right next to the bus station there is a local bath, not many tourists but is run by an English lady. We got the full works for around £12.

ENTS- As 6 lads this was the reason we came! We thought we'd be travelling to Bodrum every night, but in the end we went once. We couldn't get in any where, and when we did the drinks were expensive (relative to Gumbet). Gumbet was much better. Don't get me wrong, this is no Falaraki. If you want that holiday go there. There are not many big groups of English lads/girls (although I'm sure this will change, and Club 18-30 will start coming). Most were either locals (who stuck together) or Dutch (who mostly stuck together). We did meet up with some Dutch girls, but it was so much easier for them to talk to Dutch lads. The Oranje bar (full of Dutch) was good, as was X-Bar. If you want a more relaxed drink, go to The Millenium Bar (or Cian's Bar). The barman Jan (Cian) is very friendly and will give you no bull. They also have a big pipe. DO NOT GO INTO CLUB SCREAM. They tried to make us pay for a round that we didn't have. They were very pushy and aggressive and tried to shut us in. That was the only trouble we experienced. Everywhere is open til 5am, so don't go out till later.

If you want a relxed, cheap, fun holiday do come here (we would again). If you're looking for an in your face holiday, like on TV, then go with Club 18-30.

The resort was as clean as you would expect on holiday. There was loads of things to do at the night time, loads of bars and clubs to choose from. There was lots of restaurants aswell to choose from. The beach was clean and always plenty of space although we prefered the pool area. There was an aquapark close by and also Bodrum centre is only a bus rise away.

Plenty club type bars for younger ones and many places to drink and eat for the older ones, planet yukka offers a live band, good food and drink at very, very good prices for familys and the over 30s.

resort is fantastic beach clean in most parts shops close buy everything you need is on hand. have been every year but differant hotels so far baba is best hotel there.

The resort was pleasant, and had a good atmosphere. It had a variety of bars, restaurants and shops. Turkey in general is very good value for money. I would have no worries about visiting this resort for a second time. I loved every minute!!

Beach near hotel not that good, nicer beach in nearby Bitez. Dolmus stop is right outside Simba hotel, and only costs about 50p to get to Bodrum. Loads of shops - be prepared to haggle for bargains. Good restaurants nearby - Windy Bay and Mistral offer free wine with meal and their steaks are phenomenal! Both have a park to keep kids occupied while you eat. Also Cafe de Columbia is excellent. See Sandy on the beach front for boat trips, £8 each and under 12's free and the boat only takes about 15 people so you can spread out. She also gives advice about other excursions.

Gumbet is just Blackpool in the sun, with lots of very annoying people trying to get you into their bars and restaurants.

The beach is very busy but the watersports are very good.

Shop keepers take pride in their shops and there is no litter lying about.

Lovely long clean beach with multitudes of restaurants to eat or sit and have long cool drinks and people watch.

Gumbet is build on the side of a hill and it could be a struggle for people getting about if they have health problems.

The resort is quite lively with Bar Street running right through the middle of it, where the beer is very cheap. There are an abundance of restaurants that serve up fantastic food for all kinds of tastes at very low prices. It's quite common to have several different menu's in restaurants Turkish, Chinese, Indian, Italian, Steaks etc.

There isn't a great deal to do in this resort apart from water sports on the beach and boat trips. The beach itself, it has to be said, is diabolical - if we had one of those at home and called it a beach we'd be done under the Trades Descriptions Act. It was very grubby, full of rock and shingle and the water was not at all clear - yuck!!

I wouldn’t go back because there isn’t much to do in resort and the state of the beach is just too bad. The Turkish people were fantastic; they were funny, good-natured and very pleasant company it’s just a shame the resort let them down.

Gumbet is fab!! without a doubt,all the pubs and clubs are great, over the last 3 years gumbet has been modernising, and its looking better each time (reason i know this even though ive only been here once is from photos and friends and family reviews!!) The Beach is great and if you ever get a chance go on one of the boat trips as they are fantastic and very very great value for money and the craic is 90! I will be back here without a doubt!!

Gumbet itself has an excellent location for all types unless you want a typically Turkish holiday.

I would recommend the boat trip, which is available almost anywhere in the resort; this includes a meal on the boat, which was enjoyable. If your trip takes you to Camel Beach don’t bother with the camel ride as it cost 10 million TL for about a 2-minute ride.

Probably one of the best trips was to the aqua park at Ortakent, it cost us £7 each including being picked and dropped off at our hotel reception and entrance to the park. There are around 20 slides ranging from those for children to the kamikaze (take a spare pair of shorts if you go on the kamikaze!!!) there is also a wave pool, which operates every 30 minutes. On entering the park everyone is issued with security locker key at no extra cost. There is a card system in operation in which you can add money to buy food and drink in the park (no money is exchanged for anything), this was very handy as you don’t have to worry about getting your money wet. At the end of the day any money left on the card is refunded.

Another good night out has to be the Dreamgirls, which cost £16 and includes your first drink and a meal. This is quite blue if you go on a night, which is for adults only and is not suitable for children and those easily offended. Children can see the show on certain nights but take care which night you book for.

The resort caters for all age groups, there are fast food restaurants, al la carte, Chinese, Indian, Italian, Mexican and Turkish. There are bars of all types and clubs, which open until about 6.00am.

For those who want to watch UK TV you can always find somewhere, which will be showing your favourite program, whether it’s a soap or football. Some of our party managed to watch the Big Brother final.

The resort can be as lively or as quiet as you want to make it. Lots of bars averageing from 60p upwards for a pint of beer. Soft drinks 90p to £1.00. Only got ripped off once that was on Sandys boat trip. She talks a good deal. One thing she said was no overcrowding on the boat and it was. The other thing she said was all drinks on the boat were £1.oo they were £2.00 for a can of pop and a small bottle of beer. She said snorkells were available on the boat there were not any. When i confronted her about all of this she acted shocked but then hid from us when she saw us. My advice to you is to avoid her like the plague. There are better boat trips around on the sea front.

One of the most cleanest beaches we have ever seen, pitty there was no sand as the kids would have enjoyed it more, but there are plenty of other things to do.

Gumbet is good for everyone, it has enough shops for souvenirs, it has a bar street for the younger people and the restaurants are all international ranging from traditional Turkish food to Italian and Mexican.

plenty of things to do and eat in gumbet but we took taxi's into budrum most night, we ate mostly at the windy bay. we took sandy boat trip and really enjoyed it, our boat wasn't over croweded, and yes she did have snorkles, but when you see them you will wish that you took your own we did,

we were very dissappointed with the beach it was very dirty , we never used the beach at all, they were dogs hanging around just one pack, wasn't really a issue with me but others might find it, as you walk further round the beach did get slightly better, but it also got crowded. it is not sand what ever the brocheres says,

gumbet is more for couples or an 18 - 30s as there was not much for the children to do. the people are fantastic and cant do enough for you. the boat trip was fantastic and met some lovely people on it (a big hello to carol and alex) who entertained my children on the boat.
the aqua park is worth the money and the market in bodrum on tuesday is a must if you love bargains and haggling.
we would definately go back to turkey but give the hotel a miss.

The beach is man-made but bustling and friendly. A little untidy early in the morning but soon cleaned. Everybody extremely friendly and especially if your female with blonde hair! As my wife and daughter discovered.
All the waiters in the restaurants couldn't do enough for you and their English is very good. Very pleased if you can speak a little Turkish.
Plenty to do in the resort, two weeks not enough. Go see Sandy by the Windy Bay, she will sort you for some great trips out.

The resort was excellent, every body made you feel welcome. It was very clean and all the restaurants we lovely. The beach was nice with free sunbeds and the times we went we always got a sunbed straight away. Our daughter is blonde and blue eyed like myself so if you went down the main street it did take quite a while as we kept getting stopped by the locals who adore blondes. All very harmless but it did become tiring towards the end of the holiday but Turkish people are very friendly and do welcome you into their country with open arms.

really like gumbet and would recomend it.

A 5 to 10 minute stroll across the well lit walkway across the beach takes you into the town. (Don''t go the road way, its longer, darker and quieter). There are restaurants along the beach - first one, Windy Bay -free bread, free bottle of wine, free coffee, and you can eat as cheaply or dearly as you like. Never had a bad meal here but if busy you wait up to an hour after ordering. Next one is the Mistral - very similar, good food, free wine. Next the Paradise - tables on the beach under the palm trees, very romantic and wonderful food. No freebies, but worth it for the setting. Go up the side of the Windy Bay and you come to Cafe de Colombia - excellent value, great food and staff, loads of free wine. The Red Dragon is pricey compared to other restaurants but serves the best Chinese food I've ever had and has good live music. The Corner Pub was a favourite bar with staff juggling with bottles with sparklers in them (past the Paradise and right up the first road into town).
Trips - had a fabulous boat trip booked with Sandy on the beach, £8, kids free, no overcrowding, good food. (Take water though, drinks are pricey). Turgetreis market extremely cheap but don't book it, just get dolmus to Bodrum then dolmus on to Turgetreis - 6.5 mill return altogether!! Bitez very pretty nearby resort (we taxied - 9mill but they crammed a lot in the car!)

Arrival in Bodrum airport:- pretty chaotic but nothing you wouldn't expect from a small holiday airport. Remember £10 per person (incl kids) to be payable before you get to passport control (they don't take Turkish Lira).
Gumbet area:- restaurants, fake tee shirt/bag/watch shops and that's about it. Restaurants all a bit samey - Mistral very good (free kids meals and bottle of wine or beer), Red Dragon pretty good tho' pricier. Knock-off Game Boy Advance games £7-10ea; they'll let you try before you buy but remember they're not the genuine article.
Trips/things to do:- Dedeman Aquapark a good day out, 15-20mins away (usual slides, wave-pool etc.). Opens 10-6, tended to be v busy 11-4 but queues only around 5-10mins. "Happy Bubbles" scuba diving excellent; full day and non-divers can go as well. Not cheap but non-experienced or first-time divers go 1:1 with instructor. Bodrum has more to it than Gumbet; castle good to explore for a couple of hours; usual knock-off shops; some nice coffee shops further around the marina; taxi back around 5 mill (£2-3).
Overall:- excellent holiday/value and felt totally relaxed/safe.

gumbet was a nice resort but not as clean as some we have been to in turkey before.

THe resort has a main "bar street" which has every type of bar, resurant and entertainment you could ask for a bustling street with little roads off of it with even more bars etc. A very safe area as it is well policed at night. I still can't believe how friendly everybody was.
We can't wait to go back my daughter and her friend who are 16 had a ball! partying whilst my partner and Ihad a relaxing stress free holiday at this excellant resort.we highly recommend it.

gumbet was lovely couldnt of gone to a better place all food and drink are cheap and even the trips were chaep. the beach was nice to you can have a sunbed for nothing as some holiday places you have to pay.bodrum water park worth a vist im 22 and i loved it so if people have kids they would love it even more, turkish people are very nice and very helpfull. would go back next year and that a promise.

its the best holiday ever and they should be proud of the way the keep it so clean and it is hard to beat the entertiment and to me the bar staff are entertinment themselves cant wait to go next year. xXxXx

We have been to Gumbet twice in the last 2 months and think its brilliant! Plenty for everyone of all ages, whether you want a low key holiday or wild nights out Gumbet caters for all.Prices are very reasonable, but shop around to get a really good bargin.

I would recommend the Bretange Beach club next to the WoW bodrum resorst private beach as the beach is great there and the staff are very friendly. Need anything for the beach be it some flipflops or a lilo see Diyadin who has a stall on the beach there, he wil give you a good deal and even a massage or tattoo.

All round a great resort, and great people! Very cheap!

Most areas around the resort were clean and tidy.

Best resturant (by far) was Mistral just along the beach. There you got free wine and the kids under 12 ate free. My eldest was 13 but as she ordered kid sized meals they came free as well. The people here were very friendly to all their customers. Average price for 2 adults and 2 kids was about 45 million including drinks so thats under £20. We didn't find any other place to give kids free meals so we ate here most nights. If anyone goes to it soon say hello to James the young barman for my daughter Sophie please!

The worst thing in Gumbet is being hassled by the shop staff, by the end of the 2 weeks we had had enough. If I never hear "where are you going I am here" again it will be too soon. Also " cheap as chips, cheaper than Asda, cheaper than Primark, cheaper than Tesco" it does get on your nerves. We had quite a few get funny with us because we wouldn't buy as we could get it cheaper elsewhere so just walk away and ignore them.

Bodrum is much nicer at the shops as they don't hassle so much except in the market which is on Tuesdays.

We went to Kos for the day but booked it ourselves at Bodrum as kids under 12 go free when you do it this way but with Airtours they would have to pay full price. This is a good opportunity to stock up on duty free's at the port as English cigarettes we found were a no no in Gumbet but you could get them here. From Kos you can take in 600 cigarettes to Turkey. English cigarettes are also at the airport on your return.

Turkish bath is a must, but have it at the start to prepare your skin for the heat.

We didn't go to the Aqua Park as we passed it on the way to the Turkish bath and all of us said it looked very old so we were put off by it.

Beach is not up to much but then we like the pool anyway. A Turkish man in Bodrum told us that Gumbet beach is where they pump all the sewerage in to, thankfully we had not tried it by then.

2 of us went on jet skies though and had a good time. It was 70 million each for half an hour but this was further up the beach not outside the Jasmine as they were quite expensive.

We would definately go back to this resort but we never like to go back to the same place the next year, so maybe a few years time.

I love Gumbet having been before, and i love the Turkish people, i would definitely go back again, one bad experience hasn't put me off.

Gumbet has something for everyone and the dolmus system is wonderful between Gumbet and Bodrum.

the resort of gumbet is really nice,loads of bars and clubs open till 3ish or more.restaurants very reasonable,planet yukka is really good for a full english 6,000,000 lira (£5)but if i were to go again i would make sure i took stirling instead,everything was like £10 for 4 or 5 tee shirts,jeans,calvin boxers 13 for £10.the markets are the same they love stirling (£10 pound notes mainly). the beach is very nice small but clean,i would visit that resort again but make sure we have a 5 star hotel instead

Gumbets cleaness wasnt great, but didnt really bother me. The night life is great there and everyone is so friendly. The beach was good. Wasnt the cleanest. The water sports at the beach was really good. I would definately vist gumbet again.

The resort was generally unclean, although we did spot a road sweeper and the bin men. The blue bags with rubbish in lying on each corner were broken into either by the cats or the dogs (which were numerous). The entertainment was cheap and cheerful and was fine for what it was, we escaped to the quieter more pleasant beach front on an evening to avoid being press ganged into a shop, pub or restaurant. The beach was fine and staff in the bars were friendly. Our best day was to escape on a boat for the day, visiting other islands

Gumbet not a bad resort but you cant walk down the street without being hasseled by shop and bar owners.

Gumbet was very lively on an evening, but we stayed a short walk from the main town so if we wanted to avoid the noise we could. The local men do pester you a bit but if you tell them to leave you alone they do. The beach was fab with free sunbeds, food good and bars, watersports and hammocks if you can get in them. Bodrum Market was good but you have to watch your bags also if you go on a boat trip watch out drinks are expensive and on many you can't take your own.
If you like good music and a good atmosphere visit the xbar. Also the staff in the shops are very helpful, one night one of us fell and cut ourselves quite badly, the nearest shop cleaned the wound and made sure we were ok before we left.

Gumbet is a fairly small resort compared to Bodrum.

However travelling in a group of 4 20 - 30 year olds this holiday was ideal. Lots of pubs and free nightclubs open till late, loads of nice eating places. Highly recommend Planet yucca !!!!!!!! Local turkish bar - Kenny and Captain Birdseyes bistro - fab people- Kenny, Captain and Tic Tac. These guys made us feel so welcome. Kenny also organises a boat trip - around £6 for the whole day including lunch - fabby !!!!!!!

Having never been to Turkey before, I would highly consider going here again before other places such as Tenerife etc. I felt really at home here.

In addition to this no cockroaches were spotted the whole time we were there. We stayed in Ugur hotel- pretty basic although no major complaints !!!!!!!!!!!

The resort of Gumbet is highly developed however reasonably clean for such a lively destination. The nightlife is fantastic, once you tire of Gumbet's Bar Street (if that is possible) you are simply a short bus journey away from the pubs and clubs of Bodrum. I recommend a night out on the Club Bodrum catamaran - expensive but worth it!Entertainment for all ages - the young and the old. The beach was nice, lovely clear water for swimming. Fuad, the beach boy kept us entertained for the week!Loads of watersports available also. The only downside is the pushy shop keepers and restaraunteers. However, a firm no thank you is usually enough. Altogether a fantastic all round holiday resort.

Shopped a lot in Bodrum, a better selection but not always cheaper than Gumbet. September is a good time for bargains, as Gumbet virtually becomes a ghost town from October onwards as shops close down so there are some excellent bargains to be had but be prepared to haggle. They’re desperate to get rid of their stock and as you walk off down the street the price comes down dramatically.

We re-visited Turgutreis and the Saturday market, which is a good day out. Turgutreis is lovely. The new marina is very impressive. If you do this outing as a trip you will be taken back via Bodrum Gold centre and some very hard selling. Knowing this from experience we did the trip under our own steam. Trips are definitely cheaper booked in town than through the rep. but you don’t always get the quality of transport that you are promised. We hired a driver and mini-bus for £85 to take us round all the towns on the Bodrum Peninsula. The brand new 14-seater air con bus we were promised turned out to be an ancient 7 seater Mercedes with lots of loose bits, many cracks on windscreen and the only air con was the windows!! But it was a laugh.

Prefer to eat in Bodrum, as the hassle in the evening in Gumbet is tiring. Although there are plenty of good places to eat and drink. Visited Oasis shopping centre, which has some excellent restaurants with authentic menus. Had 2 lovely meals at the Sofram restaurant, the locals eat there which is a good recommendation.

Second time in Gumbet - last visited 6 years ago - WOW!- has this place grown! It really is a great resort with something for everyone. Try and be patient with the Turks who try to badger you into their shop/bar/resturant - 90% know the score and aren't offended, but there are some real pieces of work as well - particularly if you are a young female (even if you are in a group, or with a bloke!)
Overall - go for Gumbet next year - you'll love it!

Having been to Marmaris many times I found Gumbet to be cheap and tacky, some of the shop keepers very rude having been called a white bitch when we did not purchase anything.

The food was lovely and we could not complain of any of the restaurants as everyone of them were nice and friendly and went out of their way to help you.

There was 22 of us all together on this trip 5 of us in the Jasmine Beach and the rest in the Seasta Beach, most having been to Marmaris at some time and most saying they would prefer to go back to Marmaris.

Would I go back to Gumbet!!!!! NO

Gumbet as a whole was the best holiday I've ever had! Not only was everyone friendly, every club/bar/restaurant was perfect for us and we did what we wanted when we wanted. E.g dancing on the bar in Beach club at 5am! Woohoo!

Anyone looking to have a fab holiday, go here! You won't find a better place!

The beaches weren't great but most of the bars along the beachfront would let you use their sunbeds free if you had lunch or bought a drink from them.
We went a a couple of boat trips & had a wonderful time on both of them but the second one was outstanding with Halil & Mehmet on the AKBABA.
Be careful not to get ripped of if you go to the clothing markets, check sizes & quality of clothing carefully.
The food market in Bodrum on a Friday is well worth a look, we've never seen such huge cabages!
We will definately visit Turkey again the people are warm & freindly, the weather was perfect and the place was beautiful.

The beach is very dirty but up the town is average. There are plenty of bars and restaurants and boys who give you roses. I would definitely visit the resort again.

Been to Gumbet three times now and must say standard of beach is getting worse.

Sandy's boat trips are the only thing that stays good.

Shops don't hassle you anymore as much as last year but only because a new law has been bought in that if they do they can be shut down for one week.

Gumbet is always very clean you would not know any dogs were about as never any mess.

Mistral restaurant to be avoided as owner apparently keeps her dog in kitchen.

Windy bay as good as ever.

I loved Gumbet. I visited Bodrom while I was there but loved Gumbet much more. The entertainment is great, everyone is very friendly and it is very clean.

There are bars, clubs, shops and restaurants all along the main strip of Gumbet.

Make sure you go to the Dream Girls show it will have crying with laughter. (Don't miss it)

Gumbet even though small has everything you could want. There all all types of restaurants and cafes.

The main street is called Bar street where there is always very lively entertainment in all the bars.

The beach is always clean and the bars along the front are very pleasant and let us use all of their facilities.

The shopkeepers can sometimes badger you into going into their shop but as long as you say no they will leave you alone

Gumbet is a small bay - which is not far from Bodrum.
It has a lovely beach walkway which is great for either daytime or evening strolling. We particularly found it nice in the evening due to the fact that it was understandably cooler. (Quite romantic in fact - even for us old pair)

The restaurants were excellent but our favourite was 'The Minstral' Food was excellent and the waiters/waitress very friendly and entertaining.

The town we found fascinating and managed to go on several trips, booked in the town, which were very interesting and satisfying.

The resort and beach were pleasantly clean. Entertainment was however, a bit limited, maybe because it was October. We would probably recommend it more for couples, both young and old as there did not appear to be a lot of entertainment for the children. Although I think the pleasures of their hotels, beach etc. boat trips, would probably be suffient to keep them happy.

Gumbet is a lovely place with lots to do for everyone with a street full of bars and clubs for young people and lovely quite beach side restaurant for older people there is so much to see in Gumbet with beautiful views,loads of cheap shops and the numerous water sports available you will never be stuck for something to do.

Gumbet is a lovely resort, I would recommend the area but maybe not to families. It has lots of bars, markets, the water park in Bodrum is great & I would go there again, I also recommend you have a Turkish bath, my skin is still smooth now - months later!

The beach isn't very big & not much to speak about; to walk back from the centre along the beach is the only time I set foot on it. The resort is always clean and looks beatiful of an evening with hundreds of lights shinning up the hillside and around the bay.

I've got great memories of the place & the people; I'm very much looking forward to going back :-)

At the begining of Oct, Gumbet starts to shut down so entertainment was limited but everywhere was generally clean and tidy. Book trips through locals but shop around,
we got a deal ,buy one trip get one free!!
Please note they love children so dont be alarmed if they get constant attention.

The resort was very clean, I could not find anything wrong with it. The resort entertainment was excellent and I can't wait to see what they do this year.
We didn't really go on the beach but it was very nice and about 20 yards from the resort.

I thought Gumbet was great for shopping. I bought lots of clothes and bags. It was very clean but the beaches were very stoney, although some parts of the beach were quite dirty.

Main street and beach kept clean but stray off these and very dirty. Some of sea very dirty on one side of bay. Beach is long but very narrow and crowded at the better parts. No entertainment outside bars, and limited inside especially if you don't like karaoke. Visit 3 restaurants and 6 shops and you've seen the lot. Purpose built for tourists and it shows, no local flavour. Locals very friendly but can be pushy to sell or get you in. Impossible to walk up the sreet without being hassled but I suppose they have to make money. Avoid the waterpark, bags are searched on the way in and facilities are poor and old. Long queues.

Gumbet is a fantastic resort. My husband and I got married over there(jon is English, not Turkish), and the people could not do enough for us.

Highly recommend the Ediz restaurant oppoisite no name bar, nail is a darling and speaks perfect English.

Not very much happening in Gumbet at this time of year as it was the end of the season.

Shops were looking a bit bare which is okay if you don,t want to shop. Resort is reasonably clean as is the beach.

If you are looking for more nightlife, shopping and restaurants, jump on a dolmus for about 50p and go to Bodrum for a visit.

Main market there is very big and very busy. I would not go back to this area again as their is so much more of turkey to see but I would say wow Bodrum resort is the best holiday we have ever had.

The resort is good people are generally friendly there are plenty of good bars. Beach is quite nice. plenty of shops if you like shopping.

Gumbet is a great place to visit, have recommended it to family and friends and believe that it appeals to all ages.

Wasn't that impressed with Gumbet, much nicer places in Turkey so won't be returning there, but will keep going back to Turkey despite this horrendous holiday we had.

The resort of playacar is a purpose built, beachfront hotel resort 5 minutes taxi ride away from playa del carmen. Playacar's hotels have all the entertainment you could wish for, however, if you feel the need to venture out playa del carmen is lively and bustling. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops to keep you busy. The prices of the restaurants are very reasonable and the mexicans are very nice, friendly people.

Very sunny and a lot to do. The entertainment is excellent with a brilliant night life. Great for families or couples or young people.

Definitely worth the visit.

Get a turkish bath immediately for it helps you get a better colour.

Gumbet where the hotel is situated is lively with some fantastic restaurants many Chinese and Indians to choose from some offering free taxi back to your hotel. Plenty entertainment in restaurants and bars.

Gumbet is really good don't be expecting to go bed early cause the nightlife is great specialy CENTRAL BAR, XBAR and my all time best SMILEYS.

There are plenty of restaurants to chose from most have special offers a most go is China town, windy bay and cafe De Columbia.

It was very quiet when I went.

The restaurants are lovely, a fussy eater would be happy. They have an American diner and you must visit Eddies restaurant, staff and food lovely.

Gumbet is great. The resort is what you make of it. Quiet during the day lazing on the beach, or quiet at night strolling along the front.

If you prefer clubbing all night you can on Bar St. You can also go boozing all day in style on a gulet cruise (Rammys from the Turihan Hotel is recomended).

Shopping is out of this world, handbags and purses galore!!! I would advise a trip to Turgitries on Tuesdays for the market, the designer goods are of good standard here!

If you like to get tucked in to a good meal then you will just love the variety on offer in Gumbet and also Bodrum (nearby). There is Chinese, Indian, Tukish, British, Spanish etc Even Mcdonalds!

Gumbet was the second time I have been to Turkey, Marmaris being the first. I found Gumbet to be much better, but maybe that was because of the hotel location being close to everything as that was mostly why I liked staying at the Magnific.

We went into Gumbet one day and found every one wanted you to drink/eat in their restaurant although they were very friendly.

We also got the dolmus into Bodrum and went round the castle and harbour. There is a better selection of shops in Bodrum

Gumbet is lively but nice you can find the disco if thats what you want or lovely resturants we ate out every night and our best place was the windy bay resturant were we had free wine with our meals we also liked the columbus.

The beach was nice but did not spend to much time on it as our pool was to tempting.

Gumbet itself has changed over the years with more developement going on all the time but I did notice that there was a great effort to clean the beaches daily and generally increasing the standard. All takes time.
If you are looking for something more vibrant try Bodrum.

I've been going to Gumbet for years, and am just back from another lovely visit.

I think someone at Bodrum belediye has taken a funny turn, because they have decided to dig up the main road from Bodrum to Gumbet right at the start of the season, and it's down to single-lane crawling traffic a lot of the daytime.

Also, where we were staying, at the Bitez end of Gumbet, there is still a fair amount of building work going on, which did cause a lot of dust to be in the air in that area. In the space of a fortnight, we watched a floodlit 5-a side football pitch, complete with changing rooms, being built just along the road from our studios.

The main changes in the centre of Gumbet is the amount of estate agents offices there are now - I can only remember there being one last year, and now every second shopfront off Bar Street is either an estate agent or a gold shop (not that I'm complaining about the increased opportunites for gold shopping). There are also a couple of new leather shops opened.

My husband went to Bodrum looking for a leather jacket, but said they were too expensive there, he got 2 in Gumbet for around the same price he would have paid for 1 in Bodrum.

Bar Street is still much the same, the new Shamrock bar there is due to open on 1st June.

Lots of changes, and lots of things stayed the same. The best thing about Gumbet for me though, is that the same friends I met years ago are, for the most part, still there, and its great to see them again every time we go back.

A truly wonderful holiday so much to do. The picture in the brochure does not do it justice it's more beautiful. You have to see to believe the same as what is said about the hotel and destination.

Not too far away from shops and if fit you can walk to them
but after shopping you might need to get the bus or taxi
back!

Gumbet is a lively place with a lot of new buildings going up at high speed, but this didn't interfere with us and we never heard any noise.

There is entertainment, Bar street if you want to do a pub crawl or restaurants for a good meal.

Even though the beaches themselves are clean, the sand is like a sharp grit, not really sand, the water is a little dirty in places but I think that was due to the boats.

Gumbet is an all round nice resort and I am going again next year.

It was a 10 minute walk into the centre of Gumbet, once there the constant "come into my shop" routine was wearing very thin by then end of the week.
quite a stressful week rather than relaxing due to constant harressment from local shop owners, who seem to be rude when you didn't buy anything.

Bodrum is far nicer which is only 10 mins away by bus. The castle makes for excellent photo opportunties along with the harbour.

Gumbet at night was awful, very very noisy and very pushy forceful bar/club promoters.

Have just got back from this wonderful place I absolutely loved it there and would highly recomend it to anyone have actually booked to go again in Sept and again in May 06.

The resort of Gumbet was very well kept I was amazed by the many dogs sitting about the streets and no dogs dirt.

There was no shortage of bars although because it was the start of the season some of them were very quiet but I imagine there would be quite a buzz during the high season.

The beach was clean but I wasnt overly impressed by the shingle beach which was very small, I often commented that we had far nicer beaches back home in Ireland.

I would visit this resort again although the constant begging for you to go into their shop or restaurant would get on your nerves but Im sure this happens all over Turkey.

We arrived in Gumbet early hours of the morning so didn't get to see anything until later that day. We were pleasently suprised.

The resort itself is fairly small but is neatly kept and all the restaurants on the sea front are immaculate. You did find the odd bit of rubish floating around on the beach but it could get quite windy on the bay so sometimes this could not be helped, it was soon cleared up though.

The main streets through the resort we also nice and clean, you would very often see staff cleaning the front approach to their bar/shop or restaurant which is always a good sign for us.

There was a good selection of watersports on the sea front, from Banana Boats to para gliding, although we did feel that these were slightly over priced compared to places we had been before. There are many companies or operators offering reasonably priced boat trips, but beware as we did hear that some companies didn't think twice about overbooking them, which is why we would recommend the private trip offered by Siesta Beach.

The beach had fantastic views accross the bay, very scenic both during the day and at night. It was however a shingle beach which didn't really appeal to us, but the pool area of the Siesta Beach was so nice we stayed up there.

We will certainly be making a few more trips to Gumbet of the next couple of years!

Nice stretch of beach bit the sand is quite rough. Sunbeds are about two punds for as long as you want them for. Town centre is buzzing especially bar street, and bodrum is well worth a visit but it is a lot busier than gumbet. plenty to see and do, and the aqua park and markets are just a short bus ride away and they charge next to nothing

This was a shock to my system this year. Everyone holidaying there was shocked at the hike in prices. The service is still fab and meals in most restuarants still great but nearly all have hiked up their prices by as much as 4 times the price of 2004.

I'd say the clothes are more expensive but haven't gone up as much as everything else. Very busy resort after midnight but loads of bars and restaurants to choose from, Quite a few nightclubs have sprung up in Bodrum (about 3 miles away) which surprised us as Bodrum is generally quieter than Gumbet.

In Bodrum airport (plane being delayed 40 minutes) people were generally asking each other if they found this and I have to say that almost without exception this was the case. Bacardi breezer for instance are around £5 per bottle (honest) and there is no way that you can afford to party every night unless you are totally prepared for it.

Take heed as I do think this will become apparent as the season goes on and people return back. The meals are the same - expensive! It is still a great holiday but this is something people should be aware of before heading off.

Take more money you will definitely need it.

Very clean. Not one piece of rubbish on the floor,ashtrays everywhere. They were always cleaning front of shops and restaurants.

Very lively especially on Bar Street, but you can also find nice quite family bars to.

The locals are also very friendly. Yes you do get a bit of hassle, but after a few days they do leave you alone.

Weather was fantastic not too hot but not cold like England.

Yes would go back to Gumbet again.

The place is clean, There is something for everybody to do. and never got to the beach Sun lounger / pool man me!!!! Sand gets everywhere.

Never in my life would I visit turkey or rather Gumbet again, its not that clean and there is too much hassle and perviness going on for my liking and I'm not sure about holidaying in a country that advertises "sexy boys" to intice my partner in clubs. very suss!!

Also be very careful when having a mud bath cos the turkish men actually trying and massage with accidently slipping fingers where they shouldn't go.

If your male partner suffers from any kind of jealously, do no go to turkey, because the foreign women seem to be fair game, or rather make you feel like your on the game.

Dirty, Stinking Hole, And make sure you always take travel insurance, I cannot state enough!!!!!!

The resort was only just opening when we got there so it was quiet - which was lovely.

The people were friendly but you were constantly hassled to buy from their shops.

The local buses were brilliant and cheap - quite an experience.

The resort was very clean with no litter or dirtyness. The resort has entertainment for every taste. The bar street has all the late night disco's but it tends to be quite expensive (a bottle of beer can cost £4.00 and a vodka can cost the same)
Down towards the beach on the front there is still plently of bars and resteraunts but these are much cheaper. You can get a very nice meal and a drink for around £7 each.
The beach is not very good - it is made of shingle. There are plenty of watersports though for the energetic.

This is just a fantastic resort.

Well worth a visit for anyone who has never been to Turkey

This was our first time in Gumbet and we found it quite pleasant.

The beach was fairly clean but with coarse sand and lots of small pebbles in the sea which was sore on the feet. There were plenty of places to eat and food to suit all types but we found the entertainment in the resort was not varied enough.

However, the dolmus service was cheap and frequent into Bodrum for a more varied night out. Gumbet has lots to offer and I would certainly go back again.

You can avoid the busy Bar Street, with a nice walk along the front.

The resort has got everything you need for a holidy,at the same time its not too big.

Loved Gumbet and Bodrum. It's clean and very pretty. Bougainvillea, sugar cube buildings, birds, vegetation. Lots of shops/restaurants/bars. Castle at Bodrum is really nice. And the business owners do not hassle you one bit. Everyone really friendly.

Would definitely visit the area again. Beach by our hotel was lovely but in Gumbet it appeared a bit shingly. Not sure about the beach on Bodrum - never really looked. You must visit Dream Girls Show in Gumbet - great entertainment. All shops accept Euros, Lira and Pounds.

Second time to Gumbet and nothing ever changes!! The Turks are the worst in Turkey..they are sharks that live to make a few quid every day by ripping of tourists. This may be harsh but this is the way I felt this year.

If you like pubs then your in luck, but the cost of a pint and a spirit and mixer is now no longer any cheaper than at home. Pleanty bars but they all play the same music!!

There are plenty trips to do..but I feel that the prices have rose so much this year that they are hardly worth the money...last year we went to Hisaronu and paid 14pounds each for a day quad biking...this year in Gumbet we were asked to pay 65pounds each (to share a quad) for 1 and half hours. work that one out!?

All in all we were very dissapointed with Gumbet this year. There is plenty to choose from but you need plenty money to do it!

The Gumbert/Bodrum area is not really a place for going if you wish to visit some of the other historical sites in Turkey, you would be spending 3/4 of your time travelling to the areas. Within Bodrum there are a few sites but these could be visited in half a day (The castle, the amphitheater and one other).

Its the standard turkish greet when you got for a walk in the town, whether its Gumbert/Gumbet or Bodrum, you buy this, you eat here ! Get a tan quickly as they think that you have been there a while and then tend to leave you alone.

It is very lively more for the young, far to expensive on drinks £1.50 a coke, £2.40 a beer. Beaches very poor stoney. Can't look in shops hasseling is very bad, but yes we would consider it only because we went in the same place every night and would recommend it to families. Restraunt called sea breeze, the young lads are adorable and the ONLY REASON we would return. But the rest of the party wouldn't even reccomend gumbet.

Altinkhum or Side yes. GO to tweety travel to book trips see Geanette she's English you know what you're getting. She's on the beach near the little market (4 stalls).

A real friendly overall resort with plenty of lovely restaurants. Favourite being Windy Bay brilliant price nice free wine and lovely staff and play area for kids very good.

Had some great food at Planet yucca and the Bombay Cottage. Also went to the Mistral down by the beach front a few times. The steaks you get there are fantastic and there is a little play area with chutes and swings for the younger ones to play on.

As I have been to gumbet before I knew roughly what to expect but my partner had never been, so the hastelling from shopkeepers took him a bit by surprise but I think they have improved a lot since I last visited Gumbet.

The resort is kept very clean and the beaches are swept every evening, the entertainment is vast and plenty to choose from to cater for different tastes, as they were only two of us we prefered in stay in bars instead of hitting the clubs but they were lively and fun. Must recommend the Aloha bar, drinks are cheap and they have a firework show most nights.

The beach was ok, but jam packed full of sunbeds and the sand is very course and gritty but the water was clear and free sunbeds always helps.

I would go back to Gumbet as I think its a fun place to spend your holidays and there is plenty to do during the day or night.

Gumbet is a fantastic place to relax in the day and have long nights out. there are so many bars and restaurants in bar street, you would need longer than two weeks to go to them all. i am definately going to gumbet again. ive been to turkey twice now, and i will return there year after year. im addicted to the place.

Gumbet resort is really nice but not for the more disabled person as it is quite hilly. It is clean however.

Gumbet comes alive at night with lots of clubs and discos for the younger generation although there is plenty for older people too.

Plenty of loungers on the beach.

We enjoyed Gumbet very much we travelled in a large party and everyone of us really had a great time.

Loads of bars lots of nice places to eat Mistral Aloah Cellar bar just to name a few. Good food, great staff not expensive.

We all have said that we would love to go back to Gumbet to the same Ozukara apartments or to Ozukara 2 as they were just as friendly.

Resiort has a host of excellent restaurants. A lively resort at night if you want it but quiet if you just want to go to a nice quiet restaurant. Lots of chikldren areound, very family minded too. Great for all ages and young at heart. Near to Bodrum for a trip to the castle. Loads of excursions very cheap. We did a boat trip and BBQ, 5 islands, food good fun £9 each for the whole day. Cant complain at that!

gumbet is a very lively 24hour resort.
It is quite hilly and the loud music bangs on until 6am,so this is why the location of the mels is perfect.
Probably wouldnt reccomend it to the over 50s unless you are a young at heart party animal.
You get kicked off the beach at 6 30 pm and all beaches are combed,so it is very clean.
There is a masseur who walks up and down the beach ,he charges about £8for a half body massage i highly reccomend him and he spends a good 45 minutes on you.
The people (turks)never leave alone while walking down the main stretch always tryin 2 drag you in to a shop or bar ,it wears you down after a bit, but just say no thanks to them and they leave you alone.
All in all this resort has everything you need from watersports,bars,shops restaurants,nightclubsand fast food places,and is equally drenched with history and is well worth a visit

The resort entertainment was not brilliant but we tended to eat late and sit on the beachfront soaking up the atmosphere. The beach is man made and very stoney.
However none of this would stop us visiting again.

I've been to Gumbet for the last two years and will be visiting again in September!! I think that says a lot as I have been to alot of places but never gone back more than twice.

I like everything about it the beach, the hotels and of course the bars and clubs!! Theres loads of things to do in the evenings for familys or young people or its only a short ride away to Bodrum if you fancy a bit of change!!

The resort of gumbet has everything you need great bars and nightlife, good shops, superb resteraunts, so if you want thumping music hit bar street v good, quiet bars are also in abundance if you want to just chill out.

Personally I think the windy bay restaurant and the Aloha restaurant are by far the best for food.

Also the local waterpark is very good and reasonably priced worth a visit for a family day out.

The resort was very good looked after so it was really clean.

The resort entertainment wasn't that good to be honest but i still give it a rating of 4.

The beach standard was good as it was man made the sea is lovely and clear blue.

The beach is tiny only about 30 feet wide and watch out for the mosquitoes they are rife down there.
Not a bad walk from the Arya drivers are mad so keep hold of your kids no highway code just a blast of a horn every two seconds.
Excellant nightlife plenty of pubs on busy bar street and loads of shops for bartering.
An excellant place to eat is the Golden Dragon opposite Tepe Taxi an english girl called Yvonne and her turkish hubby Ahmed own it fab food.
Gumbet was more expensive than we thought and because of the lack of facilities at the apartment we had to eat out all the time.

gumbet is lovely, and tons of bars and restaurants to choose from. all ages were out at night. the beach is huge and very clean... would recommend Mistrals at the end. Free kids meals and free bottle of wine. Whole meal with starters for the 4 of us came to about £17. fabulous food. Catch the mini bus into bodrum for £2 per family. They run 24 hours...

resort was clean not much entertainment unless you went to bar street every night and to hilly for me,beach was small but nice I think i will stick to marmaris not as steep Glad i went though. gone quite expensive as well

The resort of Gumbet had everything to offer, including bars, restaurants, shops, hairdressing facilities, chemists, supermarkets. The people were amongst the most friendly we have encountered, very tactile though! The beach was shingle and very pebbley, but had an abundance of sunbeds to rest on.
We would recommend Gumbet for a holiday, and in particular take a boat trip, good value for money.

The resort of Gumbet was pretty good for both families and singles alike. Good restruants, mistral, red dragon is highly recommended.

Nearly forgot, pop into Smile's next door to the Jasmin for a great meal.

Would definitely go back to Gumbet, but in June next time as July was too hot.

While our stay in gumbet we visited the beach once and we wasnt impressed by the standards.The resort clenliness was excelent,there were so many dogs lounging around aroud but no dog muck as far as we could see.The night life was great althought there was some hasseling throughout the day you get it everywhere in turkey.

Very lively resort which suited us.Plenty of eating places with fab food on offer,free bottles of wine.Great water sports and brilliant breeze on the beach to keep you cool.

Gumbet was a nice, clean resort, very lively nightlife but I wouldn't recommend it for families or people wanting a quiet relaxing holiday.

Gumbet is well kept ,does have kerbs about afoot high in some places but that is my only bad point.

Entertainment in Gumbet was great, the locals are good crack ,and there was always somewhere to go to with entertainment on.

Three recommended restaurants; Windybay , Cafe Columbia and the Aloha all provide free wine with main courses.
The beach was a bit rough,but Bitez beach is only a bit away , taxis are easily found ( all yellow).

Dolmus goes to Bodrum every 10 mins.

Gumbet itself is mainly aimed at couples. there are a vast array of bars and restraunts but there isnt a lot to do for children. there is a waterpark there for kids but not much else.

The boat trips are excellent, £10 for a full day out including lunch. Gumbet beach was disappointing as it was not very clean but we took a taxi to the nearby Bitez beach which is a lot cleaner. There are some great restraunts in Gumbet, especially the Aloha, Jasmine garden, Red dragon etc.

Food was delicious and really cheap.

Lots too do in the resort. Bar street amazing!! Didn't vist the beach as it was too shingly!!

When we first went to Turkey 5 years ago we loved it and every year we have gone there,we found Gumbet to be the worst of them all to be honest plus Turkey has gone far to expensive to what it used to be and we will never go to Turkey again.

We will be trying somewhere else in future.

Well how can I start. I travelled to Gumbet last year and enjoyed it so much I had to take my other mate Vicky with me this year to show here just how great it is. It was so great Vicky was crying all the way home.

Gumbet is very Clean,cheap,and pretty. there are so many bars and resturants i have got time to name them all but if you are travelling to Gumbet I strongly recommend you try 3 resturants which are:

Ediz- on the main strip, this is a little more expensive than the others but the food is very good and the portions are large. My fiance works here Suleyman he is the head waiter and he will look after you.

Sunclub- this is on the beach you get so much for your money it cost me and vicky £4 per person for chicken, chips, salad and a very large drink. this is excellent value for money and the food is great.

China town-we had Vickys birthday party here which they made so special and the food is fab yes it may be more expensive but worth the price you pay for what you get and in turkey you want quality not quantity! They don't just do chinese they do everything go and check out there menu.

You need to be very careful where you eat out there so I would recommend these resturants as I ate there last year and this year.

Gumbet is not far from Bodrum and if you like shopping then you have to go to Bodrum. Also there are some fab clubs in Bodrum too that you just have to check out!

There are some lovely picturesque places in Gumbet which if you hire a car you must go to, we didnt hire a car but my boyfriend always like to show my friends around.

Resort is okay.Most of the locals are very friendly but at the end of the day they only want your money.The beach at the Jasmin end is very dirty and not very safe for young children as it gets deep very quick.It is a lot better and cleaner outside the hotel Baba.Will probably go back in a few years but not to the Jasmin beach apartments.

Its a very beautiful resort, a great place to stay.

Gumbet is the best resort ever, this has been my third year in gumbet and we love it like our own home, mainly our friends at club Alka.

Very good shops around, and if your looking for the best English breakfast with real pork sausaged then visit the cellar bar, and ask for Jill and mention the Coventry party. :)

The resort was always very clean and there was never any litter. The Turkish men were always standing outside their shops and bars, enticing you in. All very friendly and fun. The beach was quite narrow and mostly shingle. If you take a dolmus to the next resort you will find a much better one.

I would definitely go to Gumbet again in fact i am already planning on heading there next summer. The resort was very clean it gets a big thumbs up from me.

The beach was beautiful and all the Turkish people where there just to help for whatever you needed food, drink or ice cream, loved it.

In all this holiday was a great success and I am definitely booking for next year... See you there!

Resort was lively but with no trouble whatsoever.Plenty of good restaurants and bars.Watersports on the beach were pretty good and reasonably priced if you bartered.

Gumbet prices for food and drink far exceed other resorts in Turkey. We spent a day in Bodrum and a day in Bitez both of which were very much cheaper than Gumbet.

The resort has some excellent restauraunts but the hassle from restaurant 'touts' gets quite unbearable and very annoying.

The resort is well kept and we felt safe in the area.

Cleaniness is very good and the beach is immaculate.

We have visited two other resorts in Turkey previously. The restaurant 'touts' and Gumbets prices let it down in comparison.

I have visited Gumbet before, It has realy come on in the last 6 years, we absoloutly loved Gumbet and would defo go back the hotels along the beach all offer entertainment, and there were some realy nice restaurants, our favourite was The Paradise, food and service were excellent, and very reasonable.

A lot of people were complaining about the prices which have jumbed up. Eating out still very reasonable but the bar prices are high, on a par with England, in some cases higher, just the same measures as at home.

The people were great, they work very hard, but always have a smile and a joke.

Boat trips very good value, an excellent day out.
The water park was good we booked in main street which was half what tour operator was asking, same deal picked up and dropped off at apartment. Food and drink inside the water park very reasonable prices, you are not allowed to take food and drink in...Safety was very good, very well organised, with a doctor on site.

I would definatly recommend Gumbet to families or couples plenty for every one to do.

In desperate need of investment the roads and pavements are a death trap!

Popular with families and single women on the man hunt.

Beach is tiny,free sunbeds but to get one you have to purchase drinks from the nearest bar and with bear at 4lira a pint (£2) can work out quite dear.

Still trying to drag you into their bars,will they ever learn that some people just want to have a quiet stroll!

Gumbet is great. Something to do for everyone. Restaurants are great and very reasonable. The menus are very varied whether you just want a snack or the full works. Have been before and will definitely go back (although not to Jasmin).

Gumbet Centre is ideal if you are single or with mates as they have Bar Street which is full of disco bars and clubs here is where you find the bars offfering local beer at 2YTL.

There are also some shops which good for shopping and the prices are the same as Bodrum. The resort is not good if you have kids between the age of 9 - 15 as their is much for them to do and there are no family type bars.

Its worth walking along the beach front where you find a Crazy Golf place (5YTL) and a climbing wall, also a good range of restaurants which serve good food at good prices most the restaurants offer a free big bottle of wine which your meal and in some Kids under 10 eat free.

There are few bars which off the same type of entertainment (free) as you would get at the Jasmin, if not better. The Beach is man made and you pay for sunbeds opp the Jasmin, but they are free ones and big cusions if you walk further down.

Dont forget to Barter,Barter and Barter more!

I love Gumbet so much. I have been to Gumbet 3 times. The first ever time I stayed in gumbet I stayed in the hotel Sami Beach and I really enjoyed sayin there.

I also returned the following year with my cousin really liked saying there. The staff are very friendly and they help you with what ever problem you had.

I am visiting Gumbet very soon and stoppin in the hotel Baba been told a lot about this hotel so I am lookin forward to it.

Gumbet is the best place i have ever visited, and i have been to lots of places in europe. the beach, restaurants, bars and shops are all in one area so it is very easy to find your way round. i cant imagine going over there as a couple or with a family but as a group of friends, it was the best time in my life. bar street is packed with pumping dance floors and cheerful and flirty barmen which keep you entertained your whole holiday. walking along the front in the evening, you will find you will get pulled into every restaurant but the best thing to do is smile sweetly and carry on walking. it works everytime. anyway, gumbet is great, were booking our next holiday there for next summer, if only we were going sooner!

The resort was very clean, but I was surprised how high the kerbs were! Beware when crossing the road.

There was plenty going on in the bars, restaurants etc, suitable for all ages.

The beach was clean, but very narrow and quite pebbly. Sunbeds are free if you eat or drink at the bar/restaurant that owns the part you are one (opposite). Just turn up, have a coffee and they let you have a sunbed for the day!

There were plenty of watersports on the beach - although some did look a bit dangerous! Boat trips are best booked next to the beach too - look out for Stephan outside the Ayaz restaurant - his boat trip was fab! £10 each for 8 hours of pure bliss, with lunch, apple tea and biscuits included. They will take you to Camel Beach, a natural spa and cliff diving - great fun!

There are plenty of restaurants close to the hotel and bars. People are very friendly and I felt like I was at home. There food is sooooo tasty and there is variety to choose from. I cant wait to go back to Gumbet because this was my best holiday ever!!! I love everything about this place.

Gumbet is a bit of a weird location, once a small village is has recently boomed! The cleanliness for this area is very high, and shop staff sweep the fronts and the pavements before washing them down, the streets are suprisingly litter free - however I noticed it was the British who seemed to throw down litter! Empty bottles of water, flyers etc., but on the whole it is a clean and tidy town.

Entertainment is vast! You cant walk a hundred meters without seeing a shop selling excursions etc - there is so much to do, it's worth a day just looking round the town and bargain hunting. some of the family things to do include:

+ Day boat trip with swimming in crystal clear waters, lunch incleded (Absolute must)
+ Turish soap massage with sauna - again a must!
+ Aqua park - great fun
+ Turkish night out with belly dancing etc.
+ Visit to the markets
and loads loads more!

And for the party animals: -

* Bar street dozens and dozens of dancing bars - normally with a free shot on entry
* The massive outdoor Club Halikarnas - with foam party's fri and sat nights - Definitely one to do
* Catermeran night club - a disco on massive catermeran out on the agean sea - trippy!

The beaches are small and tightly packed and the water is a little grimy for want of a better word, much better to take a boat trip and swim in the bays that you will stop at!

I would come back to Gumbet again, but this time for a longer period 10 days instead of 7 that way I could do more activities, and visit more of the local towns!
Definitely a good place.

Warning!
Kids as young as 12 easily get served in the bars, even if they go out on their own, the curbs are VERY tall and pushchairs and wheel chairs will fins Gumbet a hostile place as some of the roads are VERY steep.

Locals and tourist can smoke ANYWHERE! so dont be suprised if the couple on the table next to you light up as you tuck into your food - or the person trying to tempt you into the restraunt / club / pub etc are smoking.

Definitely, DEFINITELY ensure you have adequate holiday insurance - I saw one woman who had fallen over and broken her leg in hysterics as she realised that she had no insurance!

Oh and before you go read up on Bartering! people are downright rude when bartering - I did a bit of homework - found out how you do it and i made some very good bargains and didn't insult the stall holder or shop attendant, the Turks are friendly hands on people! Shake hands with them.

Resort fab. Prefered here to Bodrum, not so crowded.

Resort cleanliness was in our opinon poor lots of litter around and the worst thing for us was every 10 or so yards we smelt what could only be described as untreated sewage.

If you like Blackpool, and are with a bunch of friends and want to boogie...by all means Gumbet is for you.

I like the quieter type of resort.

The Turkish people couldnt have been friendlier, but all that info on haggling didnt really apply as we found that the locals didnt seem to be into it.

I bought less than I expected, but had lots of freshly cut Lokum (turkish delight) in my case.

Bodrum nearby is more my cup of tea, and the dolmus buses great.

The town is very lively but the locals will try to get you into every shop and restaraunt.

The beach is not a very high standard. Always ask for a free drink in the restaraunts, if they have got you in there, this works most times.

The beach was ok, but it was more shingle than sand, but the water sports available were good.

The clubs were really good as well! Dancing on the bars and stuff.

The shops sold extremely cheap fake designer clothes, bags, shoes, and jewellery. Remember to haggle as much as you can!

The restaurants are great, make sure to ask for a free bottle of wine when you go to a restaurant.

Gumbet is a lovely place for all ages to visit, I highly recommend it!!!

Gumbet in itself is not to bad if you can stand people in your face no matter were you go you get hassle from people wanting you to spend your money

The beach was a bit pebbly but there were lots of water sports or just places to chil out and sunbathe.

I never really sat at the beach much unless we were doing water sports (p.s the guy in charge of the water sports is so cool,)

Gumbet: This was a last minute holiday for us, so we weren't too fussy where we went as it was just a 'break' as opposed to our annual holiday. Didn't get to see a great deal as our holiday consisted of lots of late nights and drinking, followed by a lie in until lunchtime, a little sun in the afternoon, drinks at 5pm ish, a couple of hours sleep, then out again for the night!!! Perfect girls holiday!!

Bar Street: Lots of bars/restaurants and shops. We've
been to livelier resorts but this was fine for what we wanted this holiday. Often get pestered to go into all of the bars etc. so be willing to tolerate this and make up your own mind where you want to go!

Beach: Didn't really go to the beach in the day as it was quite narrow and very busy, so we prefered the pool side. Some nice bars/restaurants to visit on the beach front in the day/evening though!

Summary: We had a fab time, lots of laughs! However, that's probably because we make our own entertainment wherever we go.....we're just so funny....lucky us eh!!

Gumbet was not my cup of tea but saying that it was ideal for single groups of 18-30s. It was grubby and not very appealing and there were people hassling you all the time to eat in their restaurant. I didn't see the beach as we had our own beach with our hotel on the outskirts of Gumbet.

The hotel was the best l have ever stayed in, it reminded me of the hotel in the film pretty woman. It was very big with room for everyone. It has several restaurants, 5 swimming pools, 5 bars and the most helpful staff.

The room we had was a family room with upstairs for my children, who also had their own bathroom, tv, and minibar. The safe and minibar were all free plus the room had all free shower gel soap even cotton buds.

The entertainment team were fantastic with shows in the evening and games in the day. Also they have a kids club all day up to 11pm in the evening, which the kids really enjoyed.

The hotel also has a hairdressers, with a hair cut free for everyone. And it also has a beauty salon, whenwe all had a massage, which l would recommend.

We all enjoyed this hotel very much, and we will be going again next year.

I would never go to Turkey again never mind Gumbet.

The beaches were really really dirty, the whole week we were there they didnt seem to get combed as it stated in the holiday brouchure.

The resort is just one big hill and in the heat you thought you were going to pass out.

I found the poeple very over bearing.

Gumbet is great and has everything you need, we had some lively night and some quiter nights, we found every bar we went to so friendly.

The hotel is five mins from the beach and you can walk all the way round the bay and there are bars all the way round. Ten mins up the road from Bodrum which is also really nice.

Gumbet is a growing resort increasingly catering for english /irish holiday makers who want a loud bar based holiday.
It still retains a lot of its character with windmills and a good sandy beach with water sports.It needs to limit the number of bars and clubs which encroach on the central resort resembling Blackpool at night.

Its a good central base to explore the surronding areas of both Bodrum,Turgetries and Bitez within easy reach by foot or dolmus,not suitable for those with walking difficulties due to the slopes and raised pavements.

the resort itself was clean and tidy.
there was plent of enterainment every night, if you like drinking and clubbing!
some parts of the beach were clean, but other parts were in need of a good clean up!

Great resort, been there 4 times in the past year and will be going back next year. Plenty to do and there is a nice beach just down passed the ayaz aqua hotel with a lovely jetty with big cusions to lie on.

Resort was OK. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Food was good value for money and we ate in a different place every night. Can especially recommend Plannet Yucca and the Ediz restaurants. Drink prices would range anything from 2-4 YTL for a pint of Efes, cocktails were about 8YTL

Beach was a mixture of sand and stones, we preferred Bitez which was about a £4 taxi ride away, most of the resturants there will give you a ride back to your hotel.

my husband does not fly so on my own with one adult my nephew and two younger kids was tortured the whole time i know that they have to make a living but also lots of turkish men thinking that you were available
met up with a girl that was on her own too and she was unable to leave her room as was tortured also but together was not too bad.
i have been going abroad for twenty years and i have never seen the like of this in my life i also found it quite expensive
nothing for kids not even a toy in the shops i would not return to turkey
also booked a bus coach to see cleopatras pool and sorrounding areas when booked was told that i did not have to pay for my six year old son however was not told that the journey took six hours there and back we only got an hour and a half in the destination and i had to put my son on my knee the whole time as because he was free was not enitiled to a seat

Gumbet has bar street which by day has shops selling fakes and at nite has pubs bars and discos to party the nite away in. Lots of restaurants- best one being china town. beach is small sand and shingle. good watersports.bodrum only 20 mins away by bus or taxi.

Gumbet is a lively place. We think it best suits young people who enjoy the nightlife.

The people who stand outside their restaurants begging you to eat there get on your nerves in the end. Its impossible for women alone to walk down the streets without being harassed continuously.

We thought Gumbet was an expensive place to stay and that included eating out.

Gumbet itself was a huge disappointment. In 7 days we failed to find one decent restaurant and the only bar without agressive touts and terrible repetitive rap music was the Ozzie themed Outback bar. The beach isn't anything to write home about either, it looks manmade, is very exposed and the water is murky and questionable looking. All in all I was very disappointed in Gumbet and definetely would not return, in fact the high prices and agressive touts and salespeople would put me off returning to Turkey at all.

What a contrast from the busy brash Marmaris, such a laid back friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Nice cheerful sea side location with out 6 gaslighters for a pound and the kiss me quick hats, definitely a top resort choice in Turkey.

The resort of Gumbet was clean, well maintained, and the residents very friendly. Made us feel extremely welcome, we were there went the bombing in London took place and everyone we spoke to, Muslim and other were all horrified at what had happened.

We were made to feel very welcome as we have young children and older teenagers. There was plenty to do for everyone all the time.

Beach ok, quite small. As for the town would recomend you go into Bodrum only cost 1.5lire on bus as Gumbet far too much hassel. Every restaurant and shop trying to drag you in for bargains,(this does get annoying, less hassel in bodrum). We were told £7 for a three course meal, this is not the situation it was £10 for a main course!! This was the only thing that put a damper on our holiday. Turkey has put prices up on everything now on a par with Britain possibly even dearer!! (not kidding, no longer a cheap place to be).
Girls Beware go with Men, far to much hassel on your own (actually quite scary) Im 19 and i found it horrible the way the men in the towns kept wanting to kiss, touch and grab me (i am not exagerating!!)
All in all a good holiday except prices and hassel in towns.

We really enjoyed staying in Gumbet. The resaurants and bars along the beach front were fantastic. Plenty lively enough to keep us entertained if we wanted a 'quiet' night away from bar street. We particularly loved the Ayaz. The food,entertainment& staff there were brilliant, absolutely flawless. Other favourites were the Baba and, if you go to bar street, shakers. I would only warn ladies to be careful coming back from bar street late at night, its not always a nice experience. Plenty of water sports & boat trips on offer in the day. We were impressed with the selection of excursions available. Also liked being so close to Bodrum as its great for shopping & nights out.

The people of Gumbet let the place down, they are the most awful we have ever met, the hassle they give you to get you to buy is terrible, they must lose pound worth of business doing this but they must be so silly they dont know it.

The smells of the drains are bad at times and the pavemaents are so high you could break a leg if you fall off the kerb.

No No NO we will Never go to Gumbet again.

The cleanliness of the resort was good but lots of stay cats and dogs.

There are plenty of bars and restaurants which are good and not too pricey, but when you have paid to stay in an All Inclusive hotel you dont expect to eat else where for every meal.

Hassle from the locals is a bit much!

All in all Gumbet is worth a look but its not overly great and the same goes for Bodrum.

I would visit Turkey again but niether of these resorts.

The resort was kept clean, we didnt see any litter at all
it did get a bit lively in the evenings, and you are hassled quite a lot from flower sellers to bar/ restaurant owners and shops which is a bit of a pain but you do get used to it very quickly.

There were water sports on the beach in the daytime, but in the evenings there was only the bars and resturants, so nothing really for children to do, the beach in Gumbet isn't very good at all, but there are nice beaches to be found elsewhere.

Overall we did enjoy our holiday, but wouldn't go back to Gumbet, a bit to lively if you have children, but would definitly go back to Turkey.

There are some really great places to eat in Gumbet, Plant Yucca was a fab place to eat and the amigos mexican was excellent..

However, on a down side, the resort has become a little over run with stray animals. It is very sad and we have been to Gumbet before and it was not as bad as this year.

Go to Bodrum and try the marina yacht!! a much better part of Bodrum to visit..

The location Of The Siesta is about 20 min walk from the centre of Gumbet which is a nice walk back at the end of the night. The beach is right on the doorstep although it is quite narrow and not very clean. There aren't any supermarkets nearby and the hotel shop was expensive and did not have much choice only bare essentials. There are plenty of really good restaurants nearby though. Our favourites were Cafe Colombia, Windy Bay and Mistral - all excellent for steaks although they get very busy and you're often in for a long wait at peak times. Red Dragon also very good but a bit pricy - good exchange rate here for your money though.

The very best restaurant we found was Planet Yucca - absolutely superb - reasonably priced and a wide choice of food with live music at night - service impeccable nothing's too much trouble and they even provide free transport from your hotel and back if you need it. I really can't recommend Planet Yucca enough - give it a try - you won't regret it.

We had many a night drinking fishbowls and being slightly fragile the morning after. Gumbet really doesn't close and keeps going all night long. Everything seems to stay open all night. The Beach Club is cheap for drinks although toilets were not very clean. At the side of the beach club there's a great eating place/kebab type restaurant - great for snacks and good value for money.

We didn't find the PR people or shop owners as pushy as we thought they might be. They were all friendly and just enjoyed the banter and we think it has improved since the last time we were in Turkey when they were literally trying to drag you into their bars/restaurants/shops.

Finally, I recommend if you fancy a bit of pampering try The Beauty Box next door to The Red Dragon - I had a manicure and pedicure - it was lovely and ever so cheap compared to UK prices.

Gorgeuos place to get away to and have a break. The resort is a stones throw from a nice clean beach with lots to do and a beautiful view.
Entertainment was great every day and night always lots to do,truly lovely place.

Gumbet is a good resort if you like loud music, bars, a bit of shopping and people bothering you to go into their shop/restaurant - 24/7.

We preferred the pace of Bodrum, it seemed nicer, although it has no beach... but Gumbet's beach is very small anyway!

The resort of Gumbet is excellent for young and old alike.
There is plenty to do and see and they party all night - if your up to it!!! The people are friendly and welcoming - they hassle you for business a little but will accept and respect a firm 'No Thanks'. I would definately go back again, my son is going back next year with his friends...

Gumbet is a very lively resort with relly good eating places.

We found the people around the resort very friendly. The beach is not the best iv been to but there is plenty of watersports offered at reasonable prices.

The boat trips are a must , we booked ours on the street costing 8 pound and the youngest one half price this was excellent value

The resort of Gumbet, caters for all ages, and it great. The best bar as we thought is the ROXY. The bar staff sre fantastic and theire dancing is out of this world. they get every one joining in, and are very friendly, and helpfull, ot to be missed. Have been there 8 years running and never get bored or fed up with the resort. And will return hopefully next year

We found the whole of Gumbet a very dirty resort to say the least.

Not much in the way of entertainment at all. Beach not too bad apart from all the dogs peeing over the sunbeds.

Certainly would never ever come back to this filthy dirty resort. Be warned.

On arriving in the resort (about 4am) we witnessed the mornign clean up - impressive.

We were very surprised how quite the resort seemed to be. Although it wasn't high season (last two weeks in Sept) the resort was def quiet.

we wont mince our words on this so lets cut to the chase..if your looking for the cheap turkish holiday from a few yrs back forget it..this was our most expensive holiday ever..not a single person we spoke to in our 2wk stay was not complaining about the cost of food/drink and the basic foods for a self catering holiday..it is more expensive than london one couple told us(shock/horror)but alas true...the resort is like any other bars with the local mouthpiece pestering you to eat/drink in there place. we wont go back to turkey due to ammount of hard earned spending money you require just to make your stay ok..there must be the cheap holiday still out there so we are off to find it.good luck if you have booked up for turkey 2006 but please save hard you will need all that cash....one more thing bodrum airport is a joke small and then when they get you through to departure ..WARNING DONT EAT OR DRINK..17 ytl for 2 small cokes...£3 for small water...£5 for 2 coffees

Wont be going to Turkey again as it was too expensive. In the 4 years since we last went, it's gone mad.

I loved Gumbet, it was very clean and the beach was lovely, only complaint was that the sand was more like shingle. The entertainment in the resort was excellent. The bars along the beach front had entertainment shows on every night and there were many kareoke bars and dancing bars along bar street. There were also lots of quiet bars around the resort where you could relax with a drink. There are loads of different restaurants to eat in and we would definetley recommend the Red Dragon and Pane Vino both of which were absolutley lovely and good value for money. We would definetley recommend this resort.

the entertainment was mainly disco bars, but the staff in every bar kept you entertained were ever we went they are all full of fun & very friendley, we played putting golf & danced with the staff in kennys bistro bar, here we also got a proper english breakfast & i mean proper english, delicious, at gesi bar resturant there was a free pool tables for adults & children, & again good food and very freindly staff, some of the shops & bars never shut its amazing, yes we would go back here without a dout

We were situated directly at the bottom of Bar Street which gave us very central location to all the bars, shops and resteraunts.
The Gesi resteraunt was a particular favourite of ours where we enjoyed excellent food and drink. Tommy was always waiting at the entrance to give you a very warm welcome.
Also very well worth a visit is Kenny's Bistro where again the food is exceptional. We spent many happy hours here in the evenings dancing the night away with the friendly staff. Also in this bar you can enjoy a lovely game of putting with Kenny. Be sure to ask Kenny for an outing on his boat - you will enjoy a lovely day on the sea visiting the bays around the coast and you can also take a ride on a camel when you visit camel beach. Aslo you will be able to enjoy the only TRUE English breakfats we managed to find in the whole of the resort. Do not miss out on a visit to this bar if you visit Gumbet.
This is a resort where we would deffinately revisit soon.

The Resort cleanliness was brilliant. To be honest for seeing so little bins, the streets of Gumbet Town were spotless!!!
The Resort entertainment was amazing!! Were do i start?? Bar street was great but what made OUR holiday was, The X Bar, The Beach Club, The Matrix, The China Tent Bar and last but not least.... especially THE MERMAID BAR..
The beach was good and there were plenty of sports and activites to keep everyone occupied.
I would definately without a doubt visit this resort again. Infact we are going again next year and we can't wait!!!!

If you think Turkey is cheap, think again. Hassle hassle hassle from shop and restaurant staff to get you in to their premises becomes very tiring after a couple of days.
beaches are good and clean but i would not go back again if you paid me, tanks for a crap holiday Turkey.

Did not venture out much as there was no real need if sunbeds/cushions were obtained within the Fuga but nice to go out for a change and to look at the usual touristy shops.

Some beautiful sea front bars and cafes. Not too much hassle from the locals which was nice and always very friendly.

Gumbet is a lively town and only a short taxi/bus ride to Bodrum. The weekly market is quite small but nice to look around. The bars around Gumbet are fantastic and they all treat you so well.

This resort is suitable for young singles couples,families,as there is lots to do and getting about on the dolmus is so easy ie Bodrum, Bitez, Turgutries,and plenty of other places,i would however not recommend it for elderly, wheelchair bound or anyone who is unsteady on there feet as the resort is very hilly and gets very steep in places, the beach is not brilliantly sandy but is very clean and sunbeds are plentyful and free, all they like you do is buy something from their bar a drink, food or just an ice cream but they do not badger you into buying,so you can have a great day chilling out.

Stayed in Gumbet . and it was brilliant ... first visit in 10 years and I would return tomorrow .. great beach - which was very clean, loads of shops, bars, restaurants with hotels providing loads of shows, barbecues, karaoke, water sports .. enough variety for anyone .. Can't praise it enough ......

Gumbet is not a pretty place and even walking to the beach or going for an evening meal, or a quiet stroll, you get hassled. It is a very stressful place with no peace. Going shopping, I didn't mind at all getting hassled, as that is how to get the cheapest price! It was quite hilarious that everyone from 6 to 60 picked up the same phrases "Ow Much?" The catching your hand "Hello, where you from, I've got a friend from there....." inoffensive smoothe talk. All really good fun. They also very kindly offer apple tea if they like you.

Bins are non-existent but the shops and streets are scrupulously clean. The sea unfortunately, is full of floating raw sewage, sanitary towels and condoms, the boats discharge their waste before people embark for the daytrips. You swim behind the roped off area so that the speedboats don't kill you! Because the black sand is so full of oil, you don't sit on it but then if you sit on a sunbed, you get continual hassle to buy drinks. If you refuse, you get thrown off. You were also hassled by the watersports and daytrips men.

If I ever go to Turkey again, it will be in a less polluted part.

It is more like a village with very few cars driving through. the palce is crammed with bars and resturants and cloths shops. all shops offer deals in pounds. you can get different currency from the cash machines so don't worry about taking it all with you.
All the locals were friendly and fun. the beach was only 5 minutes walk and contained Restaurants and bars alony the length with all water sports.
Bodrum is only a 30 minute walk over the headland or for 75 pence 1.5 lira each, you can get the minibus taxi.
Great resort!! well worth a visit. If you are a family or young fun loving youngsters then this place has it, and you can choose the quite end of town or Bar street with all the clubs amd music bars. The choice is yours.
At this time of year all prices had dropped and instead of paying 4 to 5 lire for a pint of beer it was 2 to 3 About 90 pence to 1pound 40p. all shorts are exspensive. from 5 lire to 8 about £2.25 to £3.70

Stayed in Gumbet and loved it. 5 minute walk to town centre which was very lively but great fun. Loads of good eating places ( and not so good) but all in all a great place to stay. Not for anyone who wants a quiet holiday though.

Being honest the beach isn 't the best I've been to but I prefer the pool anyway.

Gumbet was brilliant the restaurants food was gorgeous and staff in bars were so friendly.

If you visit Gumbet visit the Roxy bar they are the nicest boys ever. I know them very well and have for ages. They treat you like family. Also go to the Corner bar.

Gumbet is an up and coming resort with such a lively atmosphere, A must see resort.

Superb medical centres and hospitals

Very very busy town, everybody knows everybody and they all make you feel welcome. There are some fantastic restaurants including the Lotus chinese (next to the hotel) and some brilliant bars. Whether your looking for a quiet drink, karaoke, or clubbing, Gumbet has something to offer everyone. Everything you need is in one street.

Gumbet beach isnt the best, in June there were millions of flying ants being a pest so we got a taxi to the next town Bitez which is only 10 minutes away where they have a fantastic quiet sandy beach. What a lovely place.

Some great lazy day boat trips depart from Gumbet which is well worth doing if you get the chance.

Cant wait to do it all over again this June

The resort was very noisy,ok if you like being chatted up every 2 mins,it was a very scruffy resort.Never will i go back there.Iwould recomend side.

Amazing, you are so close to everything you could possibly need. Everything is in walking distance. We only went to one beach on our stay here. We went to go jet ski-ing (which was amazing). There are lots of loungers on the beach and alot of buzz with all the water sports going on. Generally you buy a drink and get a lounger free. The drink does not have to be alcoholic!

I love this place and without a doubt would go back every year if I could.

We didn't make it to the beach much as the hotel and staff were so fantastic we didn't leave it much.

We went out of season so a little quiet but Marmaris is a beautiful area, I would recommend this for any type of holiday.

Not a bad resort. Lots of bars and restaurants to choose from. Would be miles better if only the touts would lay off a bit. Every bar, shop and restaurant pestered you to come in and would not take no for an answer - by far theworst I have ever seen, they would chase you up the street and stop in your path. Ended up avoiding what could be a lovely strip.

The beach was fine with loads of sunbeds (free) and scatter cushion. Some restaurants extend their seating to the beach at night, there is something wonderful and romantic about dining out on the beach.

The boat trips are a must and real good value for money (£10 per head for a whole day).

If I ever go back to this region I will go to Bodrum - it has more character

There is plenty of entertainment at this resort - I particuarly liked Millennium Restaurant, there food is excellent and the best in the resort, perhaps a little pricer but well worth it and the staff are wonderful and have become good friends...

My friend married a turkish man and they had their reception in Millennium which was excellent.

Cleanliness - to be honest we cant recall seing any rubbish in the streets at all (other then the odd small litter things which to be honest was thrown by the tourists not the Turkish people. The shop keepers sweep up regularly and also noticed them putting water on the pavements.

Entertainment - There are many bars and restaurants in Gumbet near the hotel. We stayed for 7 nites and I didnt see a nite where there was no entertainment going on. Some bars have competitions etc... Area is well lit so there should be no problems for ladies.

Beach - to be honest we only visited the beach once - late evening. Because we didnt really need to top up on our tans much (being asian) even then it was only a short walking distance and seemed quiet and friendly atmosphere.

Visit resort again - Most deffinately... Didnt really want to come back to England after the 7 days. We deffinately want to go back and stop at the same hotel if possible in 2006. Staff and management were over friendly.

Its a great place to visit and also not far from Kos - just a boat ride away.

Gumbet beach not so great but was clean and tidy, the guys at the shops and beach front a little cheaky and you have to learn quickly to ignore or take with a pinch of salt!

Lighting along the beach at the far end toward jasmin and siesta non existant - take a torch!

All I can say is GO you wont want to go home!

The hotel was amazingly clean.

Everyday the cleaners would come in clean the room and make the bed.

The beach was absolutely fabulous and very clean.

Entertainment was great.

gumbet hasn't changed much since last year(2005). things like clothes,jewelrly etc. are abit more expencive,but still cheaper then england.was very surprised that must people remembered us from last year.the minestral and the colombian steak house offer lovely meals at most reasonble pricese e.g porthouse house steak with chips,rice and veg only 21 ytl about £8 english money.the kids could have anything off the adult menue for half price,and not much different in size to a adults meal. the red dragon chinesse is also very nice if you want a change.goto to molly malones.jack,daniel.and chez will make you very welcome,its above the altantis bar.but also goto altantis below and see mustaffa and the boy dance.
you will get hassled on the streets but just be firm and polite and say not today or no thanks.don't blank them they will just try harder. if you are thinking about a trip go to queens travel and see leslie she is scottish and will give you a good deal and plenty of advise about were to go and not to go,she is lovely and freindly.will try very hard to go back next year, really lovely place and very freindly people who all they want is for you to have a good time.

The pavements were very uneven so watch your step. We never really got to see all of Gumbet as there is so much to do in the area. As I said earlier we were not at all keen on the way we were pounced on as soon as we looked at an item in a shop but as I said it is a different culture. We found that is you avoided eye contact and were polite but firm you could cope much better. Gumbet is slightly hilly in places so it may not suit everyone

Best restaurants in our opinion is Windy Bay, Columbia, Ediz& Parrot. Staff are lovely in all these places & really look after you.
Best bars are Aloha, owned by Hassan from Jasmin & the lovely Mags. The Mermaid is so much fun, all the lads get you up dancing all the time, no time to drink cocktails with them around!We're a dab hand at the Turkish Kiss Kiss dance now.
The best clubs are Shakers & X-bar, but these can get very busy.
Sandy's boat trip is very good, she doesn't overcrowd the boats, & she does all 5 stops whereas others only do 4.For £10 its very well priced & you get discount off the watersports from Jasmin for the rest of your holiday.
We've met some really good friends & we'll definately be back again & again.

The resort of Gumbet is full of restaurants and shops as well as entertainment places to visit. There are many different styes of eating hoiuses and we found there was planty to choose from at reasonable prices. The shops are full of goodies, again at reasonable prices, The town of Vodrum is a shoirt distance away and reachabe by taxi and bus (dolmas) I personnally would take a taxi as the buses are driven by slightly mad drivers! There are many historically interesting place available through the travel agents and a good deal can be struck if you chat a little!

The resort of Gumbet was really nice, although the beach was stoney, there were free sunbeds which is usual, and there were childrens play areas along the beach.

Even the taxis hassle you, and also a guy selling fake perfume will hassle you when you are sunbathing on the beach.

I think the resort is very clean you always saw the cleaners doing something round the resort.

I love the beach it is very clean and very relaxing.

Gumbet was brill quiet if thats what you wanted but also livley if thats is also what you want something for everyone. The resturants were fantastic the food prepared and served with care and attention to detail. I would recommend this resort to anyone also close enough to Bodrum to do shopping although I wouldn't stay in Bodrum too busy for us.

The resort is first class for the younger disco crowd, roads and pavements are not great for wheelchairs ect, or even just for walking.

However, the entertainment is very good as is the beach, with lots to do.

The resort is packed with restaurants, shops, bars. It is very friendly but you are pestered quite alot to go into the shops and restaurants. The best restaurants were The Sunflower at the bottom of Gumbet and Windy Bay on the sea front.

Seemed very clean, though you hardly see any cleaners, you wouldn’t find rubbish every where. Resort was nice, not very packed, easy to walk through around.

The beach standard was very nice, very clean; you could see the fish's as well. You wouldn’t really see a lot of rubbish thrown anywhere, but you need to be a step ahead in turkey when it comes to money. If I had a choice to go, yes I would go back, but try a different place.

Once again I did enjoy my holiday, my children enjoyed the most and my wife, it is a lovely place to go. People there are very very kind.

Overall the resort was clean and tidy, there are many shops, Bars and Restaurants to suit everyone's taste regardless of age, trips and other events can be arranged at numerous agents scattered around the resort. Boat trips are good, a word of caution though, if like me, you are not a good swimmer and agile, use the boats that leave from a jetty, some use small boats to get to the larger boats out in the bay, not a nice experience if you fall in the sea while boarding.
Beach has very little sand, mostly shingle once you are in the sea, however, the beach has plenty of bars and restaurants with the use of free sunbeds outside their area if your complex has no pool or other facilities to offer, the obvious point being buy food or drink and the sunbed is free.
There were numerous eating places, my favourites, Mary's Bar located behind The Steak house restaurant, had to leave the steak house because the did not have at least 6 meals we chose of the menu this is how I discovered Mary's Bar, the prawn meal was excellent, do a great sunday lunch .
Another favourite was the Restaurant just to the right of the Queen Resort, great food selection and live entertainment, the Chinese just to the left of Queen resort was also good. This was my second visit to gumbet but staying in a different hotel in the opposite side, so I did not need to travel around the resort so much this time.
Would stay in this resort once again.

The beach was lovely and tidy and the bars and restraunts were lovely too. You cant beat this hotel I had a lovely time.

Gumbet is a livey popular place for young and old. You can dance and sing the night away until the early hours or you can have a romantic stroll along the beach front with its super restaurants and bars.

We love Gumbet it has someting for every one, i felt really sad to come home we were made so welcome. The beach in parts was a little pebbly, but the water was lovely and clean, the water sports are very well organized, you can get a much better price if you use them in the morning time. The entertainment in hotels along the beach could do with a bit of a jiggle about it became a bit pridictable. The Turkish people in Gumbet are great, realy good fun, and helpful, every were kept spotless clean.

The resort itself was cclean, although on 1 day there was rubbish piled in the roads, which I guess meant that it was the day the rufuse collecters were due round.
There were numerous bars and nightclubs about 100/200 metres from the hotel.
The beach was clean, although it was shingle and not sand.

The resort of Gumbet is a bustling resort, with Bodrum just 15 minutes away by Dolmus.
The beach isn't brilliant, but is good enough for a beach, and there are loads of watersports to try in the bay if you like that kind of thing.
There are loads of shops, bars, and restaraunts every where, so plenty to choose from.
You get the usual turkish hassle from the shopkeepers, but I found ignoring them worked, as they only shouted after you until you got out of site.
We only ate out twice, once in Planet Yucca (Gumbet) and once in Cafe Bodrum (Bodrum harbour) and both were really good value and very nice.
We booked our excursions through one agent I think it was LS excursions but cannot remember. They were really helpful and the cheapest we found, would even beat the guys by the beach.
We went to Halikarnas one night, and it's a good night out! We also went on a trip to the Aqua Park, there are some great water shoots there!
Gumbet is a brilliant resort and I would definately return there one day!

Gumbet itself is a lively town with the locals doing anything for you. The main restaurants will even pick you up and taxi you to their place !

We will definitely will be back the place is child friendly too as there were lots of children about. The boat trips are a must and especially the Turkish baths. A lovely place.

The cleanliness was greatly done, didn't really see much rubbish on the ground. The resort had great clubs that we went to just down the road from the hotel which were great fun, I would definately recommend that people visited this part of the area.

The resort is fabulous alot of bars to go dancing in or just to realx a bit. Watersports are great just go speak to einstein, get a good bargain on jet skis. Mr Froggies the karaoke bar is really good if youre looking for a few hours of fun. Once you have seen one shop then youve seen them all, they basically sell the same stuff in every store. Very cheap otherwise all the food and drinks cost basically nothing at all. Had some good nights out with our friends from the hotel, China Town resteraunt is lovely makes all types of food even beans on toast if your a bit home sick. I would deffinately recommend the turkish bath aswell its fab! well home to go back soon

Very shabby, dusty, bombarded flee ridden dive!!!!
No beach hardly and I am thankful about that as you could see all the flies jumping around the water. The sea water smells like the sewers,I believe it is the sewers you ofen see bodily waste floating about.

Would never ever go back there again in fact the day I arrived back in England I booked another holiday to recuperate. But I will say the people are the friendliest, lovely people I have ever met and they adore children.

I was not looking forward to going to Gumbet initially as I am used to places like Ayia Napa and Tenerife but the nightlife is brilliant, the staff at all the bars make u more then welcome and most are very good looking. There is also lots to do on a daytime so a bonus all round.

We found Gumbet to be really clean,shopkeepers were always sweeping up etc.Plenty of things to do and see both night time and day.The beach was always raked and rubbish removed each evening,we will be back next year,cant wait.

I had read reports on Gumbet before visiting and was a little concerned, however, by day it appeared to be similar to many other busy resorts we have encountered in Spain and Greece. Lots of bars and restaurants and very busy and definitely aimed at the younger clientele! We went into Gumbet a some evenings with our children and had great fun.

Gumbet was nice but there were stray dogs every were but we fed them bones because the looked thin. The entertainment was good but not realy my cup off tea. The beach was lovely but there were lots of stones in the water whitch hurt you feet.

If your going have a go at the boat trip and if you want a nice brekfast go to the windy bay and try the freshly sqashed orange juice...

I wouldn't go back to Gumbet you that being dragged in every direction to the face shops the best shop is the cheap shop.

The beach is a shingle beach which if full of sunbeds, nice for sunbathing but not much for young children. Ate out at plenty of the local restauarants and couldnt fault any of them. The resort is a little difficult with a wheelchair as the pavements are really high and not very even. The people are freindly and would all make a fuss of my little boy. Theres plenty going on for the adults but it sadly lacks things to keep smaller children occupied.

Beach was very shingly so we went to Beteiz beach and Turkatreis excuse the spelling please. 10 lira for taxi too Beteiz and 40 lira to Turkateis but well worth it ...

We loved every minute of our holiday, we have never been to turkey before and we didnt think we would like it but we were wrong.

I would definately recommend Calypso bar and restaurant its English ran but with Turkish hospitality the food is good and the cocktails are fantastic.

If you go there will be 2 people that you will never forget from there and that is crazy joe and moses(that says hes better at cocktails than tom cruise) we're definatly gonna go back and see them next year!!! (Calypso is opposite the taxi rank next to the Jasmin hotel)

The resort was great, beach was kept quite clean but you will need something on your feet if you go in the sea as there are lots of pebbles and rocks.

If you can stand the hassle of the shop keepers its worth going to have a look lots of fake designer items clothes, watches, sunglasses etc.

If you get peckish try the chicken kebabs at Yummies, they are lovely.

The resort was cleaned to an extremely high standard everyday. The entertainment was more suited to a younger generation with bars and clubs all over the place.
Staff at the bars and shops were very very friendly and liked a bit of banter. If it seems like they are harassing you be witty with them. They'll appreciate the fact you've spent some time talking to them even if you don't visit or buy from their shop.
Made some friends with barman and restaurant owner and will keep in touch.
The beach was clean but the water however wasn't. Found some very unsanitary things floating about when I went further out to go jet skiing. Didn't go back in after that!!!
I doubt I'd visit again. Not my type of holiday but if you're looking for one with the lads or the girls then this could be good for you. Just find a different hotel!!!!!

If we hadn't been at the Hotel Ugur or had our money/phones stolen, would have enjoyed the resort (plenty of bars/restaurants) but due to the experience I cant ever imagine going back there.

Resort fab would visit again.

The resort was quite clean although usually you could see empty water bottles lying around and fag butts in the shingle ... There was entertainment everywhere you looked we only went to Bar Street one night and it was so busy everyone competing to try and get you to drink in their bar not our thing really. Beach well if you could call it that was rubbish! more of a shingle stretch with sunbeds on it the water wasnt to clean either (although being brought up in cornwall maybe im expecting alot) There were always stray dogs wandering around near the water front also and alot of cats! I would visit Gumbet again but purly for the Siesta atmosphere ....

Gumbet is brill we came for the first time last year and just had to come back.

eating out is great as you can get all sorts of good food, any if your a party animal like me your'll love it.

Very busy on bar street at night excellent clubbing opportunities. Lots of shopping to be done we visited Bodrum market and it was unbelievable we always offered 5 lira for everything believe me it won't go much higher if u walk away ha if no go then go another stall. Turgetries market massive!! We got spot on fake footie tops £10 for 2!!! and they were spot on. Beach like big ashtray i did not like it. Restaurants some great ones on bar street but go back a little and prices drop also mention that you were offered free wine and sweet at another place and they will try to beat it! get your trips from bar street cheaper by far and they are great! Water park, market and boat trip were about £20 cheaper when we got package!

Ah, I love Gumbet! I've been there two times so far and hopefully will go many, many more times!

The locals are extremely friendly (as with all resorts in Turkey!) and the restaurants and bars on Bar Street provide fantastic nights out.

Shakers is my favourite bar and a great place to go to a little bit later on, around 1am as it is open 'til 5am. Great drinks at reasonable-ish prices, fab music and the nicest staff ever!! Love all the guys that work there!

Gumbet has a narrow shingle beach which we were a bit disappointed in but as our children only like going in the pool was not so bad. Bar Street has everything from shops, bars and restaurants (and lots of cheap clothes including leather). We ate most nights at the Mistral were our youngest child always ate free and you got a free botle of wine. The food there was very nice. The weather was very very hot! You could not meet more friendlier people in Turkey. I would definetely go back to Gumbet!

Gumbet has very little to offer 12-16 year olds. The resort is very clean though. There are only 4 types of buildings: hotels, shops, restaraunts and bars the latter 3 of the 4 will drive you mad trying to get you to spend your money in their business it is very tirsome after the first 3 days. Soft drinks are expensive and food prices are often dearer than in the UK. Buy your basics in the local super market type shops (Big price differences) A smokers paradise though you can smoke anywhere except on buses. It.s not a beach but several tonnes of scale spread along the coat line and the shale soon turns to large stones on entering the water. No bins, yet no rubbish (amazing) I would only go back to Gumbet if I got the same hotel and left the kids at home.

Very lively resort. Plenty to do for families and singles. Saw no trouble and very clean place. People so friendly. Many of the singles went into Gumbet of a night time or into Bodrum town. Buses very regular every 10 minutes. Beaches clean, sun beds free, as long as you buy one drink in the nearest bar. Very long and narrow beach. Not good for sand castle building, as too many people in August, but we managed.

Would have liked more shops selling Turkish things, rather than fake designer clothes that they think we want.

Only tip - recommend you take drinks or snacks to airport, when waiting for flight home, as airport very expensive. Duty free cheaper at Gatwick than Bodrum.

Gumbet is great...never been to Turkey before and didn't know what to expect but the Turkish are the frendliest people you will ever meet in your life. They love to chat to you and more often than not aren't trying to sell you anything they just fancy a little chat so please be nice as so many holidaymakers are so nasty to them and at some points I was embarassed to be in the same nation as some of these rude people!!

The beach is lovely and you can use the pools of all the hotels on the beachfront, the Anil we found to be fantastic and their food is amazing!!!

As for nightlife, I am in a young couple and found that after 3am all clubs were playing Dance music which isn't our thing but the Frog karaoke bar and Outback Indie bar are fantastic!!

Go on Sam the Man's boat trip. You will find him on the beach in front of the Anil Hotel...best day of the holiday, so relaxing!!

Fantastic resort. Would definitely go again and there are plenty of basic but clean hotels to choose from.

I stayed in Gumbet, and found the resort to be clean considering the amount of people that were there. The entertainment in the resort is fantastic! There are many bars and restaurants to choose from. The beach was clean but quite shingly. The sunbeds were free which was great.There was also "beach service" if you wanted a drink or snack etc, it was brought to you, how good is that? I will be visiting this resort again.

Gumbet is really clean with loads of shops that are so cheap it is ridiculous.The restaurants are great with good food at silly prices.Our family ate out every night and it was never more than about £35 for three couses with drinks!!!
The only down side is the hassling you get from shop and restaurants trying to get you to go in but even then they are never nasty and like to joke with you.

Most restaurants in Gumbet are really cheap and the staff are great. Meals and drinks are generally more expensive at the beachfront but still very reasonable.

If you are a wine or cider drinker you will be dissapointed. the wine is very dry and horrible tasting and not all places sell cider and if they do it is expensive the beer is also very gassy and I don't think you can get drunk on it!

Expect hassle hassle hassle in the shops and on a night from the men selling (very poor) roses. above all though a nice little resort resort with plenty to offer.

Beach is right on doorstep, not too crowded but rather pebbley wasnt too keen on the sea, quite a bit of rubbish floating about.

Resort itself, is very clean and well maintained
got a bit fed up with the rose sellers, they dont seem to understand no and they can be quite annoying.

There's live entertainment round the bar pool in the evenings, if you do book make sure your not right over the pool if you like to get any sleep, we didnt mind as we were out till early hours every night.

We visited the Calypso bar nearly every day, food and drinks spot on, staff are very friendly and helpful, you have to meet crazy joe, go and you will see why

The resort was good for families and lots of entertainment could be found around the beach in the evenings which was suitable for families.
The beach was great with lots of play areas and water sports etc.
Expect to receive alot of hassle from shops and restaurants touting for trade especially in the evenings.

This resort was very lively, we loved the bars, especially the shamrock bar!!!

Also loved the food, particularly uncle festers!! Great atmosphere and great people!!!!!

The resort is lively with everything open really late but also very family orientated. The waiters in the restaurants cannot do enough for you. Try the Red Dragon for good food and good entertainment or The Parrot for really good food and excellent service.

The resort itself was very clean and had everything you could want from a 2 week holiday.
Bar street was focused more on the teenage/young adult market with typical loud music and party atmosphere but still great fun if you want a lively night.
Walking along the beach front is a lot more layed back and relaxing for a night out with a very chilled atmosphere (do beware of flower sellers they are not free and are after a donation).
The beach is mostly pebbles and can be a little tough on the feet but is kept very clean and is safe for even little ones to have a paddle with plenty of sunloungers or giant cushions to lounge about on (all free).
All in all Gumbet is beautiful and one of the safest places for families young or old and we enjoyed it so much we have already booked for Aug 07...

Streets a nightmare with very high steps to clamber up when your out on a bar street pub crawl! But we manage even in our high heels and tanked up on vodka red bulls...this place is my idea of heaven and I have been 4 times since May 2005. I just cant stop coming back... I have a fortnight with my kids and a week without them

I am returning in October as I need a final hit before a long British winter.... all I can say is bar street!!!

X bar, shakers being our main haunts.... fantastic, never had so much attention in my life...see you in October Gumbet, me and Sian will be dancing on the bars and loudspeakers loving every minute of the place...every one I meet very friendly and frequent visitors to Gumbet... it has a crazy addictive quality that I have never experienced anywhere else in the world!!!!!!

The resort of Gumbet is very clean - lots of bars shops and restaurants take some money for genuine fake goods as they are called by shopkeepers if you like designer names as the shops are full of them. Beach is lovely with some very nice quiet beach bars if you wanta quiet drink in the evening.

Gumbet had everything for all ages. Noisy bars for youngsters and quiet bars for the older people. It was spotlessly clean and it had some fabulous restaurants. Please visit the China Town for the best curry in the world. The beach was very picteresque and although some areas was a bit shingly other areas were sandy. I would imagine it was quite safe for small children too as you could walk out quite a way in the sea before it became deep.I would definitely come back to Gumbet.

Loved gumbet resort, great bay going back in October. Great friendly bars kids loved it best holiday for a long time.

Gumbet is a lovely resort, the beach is lovely my family and i went down to Zetas bar on the beach the bar staff there where very nice, we had our lunch there at a very reasonable price also you can lie on the sunbeds and the waiters bring your drinks to you . My family and i went to Marmaris in May 2005 that was the first time we had ever been to any part of Turkey,we had a good week there but when me and my husband seen gumbet in july 2005 it was something else the best ever.
