The hotel was great for what we needed, as we only stayed Saturday til Tuesday. Drinks were plenty and food was substantial. Hotel was clean and the location was great. after the bar closes at 12 there is a bar across the road called Robin Hood, which we found to be very good.
There is a large pool and kids pool and park, but there is also a small pool and 2 jacuzzi's on the roof top. for the price we paid we were more than happy. staff could do with being a bit more happy, but hey!!!
Location is fantastic, beach couple of minutes walk, and walking into Lloret is only a 10 to 15 min walk. Plenty of shops and bars.

what can i say? other than awful! went with my partner,on first arriving made me think i had made the right choice from all the other H.TOP hotels..yet as the week went by i wasent so sure firstly the board basis ,we paid all inc and what we got was little more than basic slop! the food is cold and very repetitive, now i have been on all incs before so i know the food towards the end of the week can be repetitive but this was dismal...cold cold food that was re-hashed,we ended up going out 3 or 4 times at least for food which is not what you want when you pay all inc...fussy eaters or young kids will have a very hard time with regards to food here, there was even a microwave for you to warm up your own meal!!!!!! hotel was clean (ants in the bathroom) but generally ok maids were very polite on our stay and always greeted with a good morning towels were fresh everyday..hotel staff could do with smiling a little more and being a bit more helpful, very rude guests whom push into the line to get food like they are all wild animals that havent been fed for weeks! and one night the police had to be called for guests fighting due to too much alchol something the bar staff should be trained on to avoid similiar situations... entertainment...ha what entertainment it was absolutly shocking ..a couple whom just looked like they stepped of a bars karioke one night singing from a song book!!! and that was the best!! this is definatly NOT a 4 star hotel with even the wildest of imaginations.

We stayed at the hotel for a week. On our first glance we did feel abit disappointed with the hotel.
The hall had a very bad small, which went but then occasionally crept back in throughout the week. The rooms were ok - basic, however on our last two nights we found ants in the shower/bath - not very pleasant.
I feel the cleanliness of the hotel could be a bit better, and the maids could be a bit more happier/polite.
The food was not very good at all. We found ourselves eating out 3/4 times throughout the week. Very poor. The breakfast had no variety, same thing every morning.
The entertainment was also not up to a 4* hotel standard. The first night was terrible with a couple singing, reading the lyrics out of a book - no movement what so ever. We ended up going out at night due to the poor entertainment.
Overall i would not visit this hotel again, and would only class it as really a 3* but would probably still need improvements, however giving this was a very cheap holiday i suppose i cant complain too much! we survived!! On the plus side the location was great!! the beach was only a 5 minute walk and bars and shops also only a short walk away.

Just back from the Royal Beach. Hotel was great considering what we had paid for it. Rooms were spotless and staff was very helpful and friendly ( reception staff could do with learning how to smile)Food was tasty and a good variety...mainly salads and a few meat/fish dishes, fresh bread and a special a couple of times a week, paella when we were there. Quite a lot of pensioners when we were there but we didnt mind one bit as there were no zimmer frames flying up and down the corridors at night! Blissfully quiet and a good nights sleep. would go back to this hotel no problem

I have no complaints about this hotel.

The rooms were cleaned and towels changed every day. We were there for 5 nights and the bed was changed during our stay too.

Breakfast was pretty much the same choices each day but quite a lot of choice.

Dinner and Evening meals were varied, they catered for the fish eaters and also vegetarian but something different every night.

Snacks was the same every day, burgers, hot dogs, chips, and bread for toast.

The food was always hot regardless of the fact that you might go in 10 minutes before the end of service.

The staff are all really friendly, can't fault any of them. They work 14 hours a day (especially in the bar) and start and end with a smile.

We had booked a week at the (TOP) Alexis Hotel in Lloret but it closed for the winter before we arrived so we were allocated to the Royal Beach instead. We had chosen the Alexis because it was a smaller hotel and very near to the promenade at Lloret. The Royal Beach is much bigger and in Fenals (a suburb separated from the main town by a headland).

We were worried about the "all-inclusive" aspect having read other reviews about drunkeness etc, but it didn't turn out to be a great problem. The was quite a bit of noise and commotion in the early hours of Friday and Saturday nights (obviously youngsters arriving back from "clubbing") but other than that it wasn't too bad. In fact there was more chance of being disturbed by people getting up in the early hours to catch their flight home. Whether this holds true in high season though I don't know.

The hotel was vey clean - in fact the maids seemed to be obsessive about it. The bedroom furniture in our room was moved every day so they could mop under it!

The food was decent, not a great deal of choice, typically one vegetarian dish, pices of fish, a stew of some sort and chicken or veal, with chips (most days) and some pasta and sauce. There were also "specials" Paella or other rice dish. Desserts, like most Spanish hotels, involved lots of variations on Creme Caramel and mousse but also rice pudding on several nights so I was OK. (The only thing better for me would be crumble and custard).

If you didn't like "spanish-style" food (and were on all inclusive) there was a "snacks" buffet open morning, afternoon and evening, serving more English foods like burgers (delicious), chips etc. You wouldn't go hungry at this hotel.

Entertainment was mostly music for dancing but there was a Flamenco Show and a slapstick comedy show. The noticeboard suggested that there would be more entertainment but this was very late season (and very, very inexpensive) so we weren't surprised.

I probably won't stay at this hotel again (prefer smaller and more central) but I wouldn't rule it out completely.

Just returned from this hotel , we were more than concerned about previous reviews we had read. On our arrival we was greeted by helpful reception staff and a very clean hotel. The room was a touch small but cleaned every day.The restarant was again very clean and the food was plentiful it only repeated itself towards the end of our stay. This hotel was only about 20% british the rest of the guests were mixed from across europe. It can get a bit noisy some times but we were there at peak season and this wouldnt stop us from returning again.

Had booked this hotel, but had slight reservation after reading reviews. Travelled with 2 adult and 2 kids (one aged 16 and the other aged 12.)Was very impressed how clean the hotel was. Rooms was also very clean and the maids were in every day. Food was Ok but quite repetitive. Drinks were okay but it was the local alcohol which was very poor. Entertainment was ok but repetitive as they only had a one week schedule but it was fine for the kids. My 12 year old loved it! My 16 year old loved the freedom as he could go into Lloret by himself as it was only a 10 minute walk or go to the beach beach which was just down the road. Would definatly go back.

Great hotel and fantastic value for money. Reception staff helpful, hotel is spotlessly clean. Plenty of sunloungers by the poolside.

Food was plentiful, always hot and the chef was forever bringing out more!

Good location, only 2-3 mins to the beach and 10 mins to Lloret de Mar centre.

Entertainment was repetitive but we didn't really stay at the hotel in the evening.

I would recommend this hotel and would certainly return again in the future.

I liked this hotel- it was very clean and well situated- just a minute from the beach, and a regular bus service stops right outside the front door.

The entertainment was not great but there was a good choice of food and although the bar was sometimes busy that we had to queue one expects that when you go all inclusive.

The only complaint we had was the weather, we had rain everyday, and like the previous poster we had a nightmare transfer with Perla Tours- we had to wait nearly 3 hours to get on the bus, the driver then dropped the Calella people of first which meant we also had over an hour on the bus. I do not think 4 hours is acceptable when the hotel is only half an hour away from the airport.

They were also late in collecting us, which meant we nearly missed the flight home.

However I do recommend the hotel and the resort.

Just got back yesterday and really the only compliant was the weather - rained constantly for 4 days out of 4!! The hotel was what we paid for - all inclusive for £215 but we didn't expect to be there all the time!

My main reason for entering this review is if anyone has booked transfer with a company called PERLA TOURS - my advise would be to cancel a.s.a.p. The Company actually wasn't too bad and did arrange to pick us up on time, but the women driver was rasist and very offensive, didn't wait for more then 20 seconds at any hotel and made elderly clients walk over to the bus, dragging their own luggage, over a busy road and then drove away past where they were originally standing! Called the police on a group of 8 women because one of them had stood up on the bus, had them removed from the bus in the pouring rain, in a small village. I was not in their party and can diffinately confirm that they did nothing wrong. The police on the bus were a fright to all my party and the comments from the driver of ENGLISH ARE DOWN THEIR AND SPANISH ARE UP HERE - YOU NEED A SPANISH EDUCATION were racially unacceptable - if this had been an English Company the driver would have be sacked on the spot. If you have booked call them and tell them you will cancel if this women is still an employee of theirs. Unfortunately we do not have her name, but I'm sure they cant have too many. Good Luck with your transfers and happy holidays

We travelled as a party of fifteen workmates on a weekend break aging from 17 to 59.

The hotel was very clean and the staff were helpful and cheery. OK its not 5* but it is ideal for a weekend break.

Food was good with a good selection at every meal.

Rooms were clean and cleaned daily.

We were A/I and the alcohol was good however the bar does get busy during evening and this causes queues. However this gives you a chance to talk to people as you wait!!

Having read the reviews before we went we expected worse than what we got, reality was, yes people were drunk, no it wasn't overly noisy, no there wasn't kids running around, no there was no trouble!!

It is not a hotel for families in the winter, it is geared more towards older people on a short cheap break and it is good value for what you pay.

We will be going back again this year!!

Rooms clean but very thin walls allowing every sound to be heard from neighbouring rooms.
Restaurant cramped when full. Staff very noisy when clearing tables. Food poor, always cold, very repetitive.
Bar more like dark airport lounge.Selection of drinks good and bar staff cheerful but need to be more discerning when serving more alcohol to obviously very drunk people.
Entertainment rubbish. International singer sounded like she was on helium when beting out Neil Diamond hits! Quiz taken over by fellow guest when nobody could understand heavy accent of entertainment staff.
Embarrassed to be British when faced with the appalling behaviour of other guests. Hotel failed to do anything to help situation.Should be advertised for 18-30 holidays or stag/hen parties. Not suitable for families.

It was the first time we had booked an all inclusive holiday.

Hotel and food were excellent. Really good for a family holiday you can go to the beach which is near or get the bus outside the hotel to Lloret itself for 1euro.

Entertainment was okay my teenager daughter and her friend loved it and we were going to book this year 08 but it wasn't in the holiday brochure.

What are people moaning about? This was our 1st time all inclusive and it was worth every penny, how nice to let the kids go and get ice-cream, drinks and food when they wanted instead of worrying about the pennies. Full English brekkie every morning, fruits, yogurts, breads, tea, coffee, juices, lots of choice and always hot.

Snacks between breakfast and lunch, then a huge variety of choice for lunch, when that had finished there was afternoon snacks which were burgers, chips, pasta, cheese, breads, salad, ice-cream and lots more and then you get your evening meal where again you had lots choice, always a fish and a meat dish, lovely salads, potatoes cooked in different ways, soups, just lots of choice and always hot.

Drinking out of plastic glasses didn’t bother us, its safer to use plastic round the pool; at least they don’t get smashed. We found the staff very helpful and polite and as for the card system that wasn’t a problem at all.

I don’t know what people are moaning about; I d rather have a card than a wristband!

The pool was pretty cold; this was due to it being in shade till about 1pm. There are loads of sunbathing terraces, we sat up the steps away from the pool, but near enough so we could keep an eye on our girls.

If you want it quieter you can always use the roof terrace where there is a small pool and 2 Jacuzzis and a bar. Lloret is only about 10 to 15 minute walk away but if you’re like us you will get the bus which runs about every 15 minutes from outside the hotel.

Overall we had a brilliant holiday and would definitely return.

Never thought i would ever write about my holiday experience but hey.....here we go.

Hotel was clean but that's where the good ends.
Hotel location was good for the beach..a 2 minute walk and we were there, just as well as we went there every day even though we were all inclusive, the thought of spending time around the pool area was a definite no no!!!! as it was far too crammed and the noise and abusive behaviour from the younger ones 12-16 year olds was appalling.

The food was average but edible with not a lot of choice. The worse thing of all was the swipe card system that was used to get our drinks and meals...it was farcical, never in all my holidays have i seen such a poor system of trying to manage an all inclusive set up.

The entertainment was almost non existent and what was on offer was rubbish.

If you like a quiet holiday or have a young family then this is definitely not the place for you.
Don't waste your money....please!!!!!!
They should turn it into an 18-30 holiday or specialise in stag or hen holidays

Very disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Was wary after reading a few reports before we went. I found the hotel very clean.

Food was reasonable as you have to remember that they have to cater for more than just us British.

Found most of the staff very pleasant. The only problem we had was a bunch of Londoners who were there on a 3 day stag do. They being typical Londoners were loud and brash and made the usual fools of themselves like they do everywhere.

I would have no hesitation in going back.

I have been to this hotel three times and always found it to be clean with decent food, not always hot enough.
If they replaced the dining room manager it might be an improvement, he spends more time ogling the young female guests than listening to justifiable complaints about cold food. As I say there is nothing wrong with the quality of the food, they just don't serve it hot enough.

Everything else about the hotel is fine. The biggest problem is the behaviour of some of the British louts who are guests, their bad manners and drunkenness would not be tolerated at home so why should the hotel staff have to put up with abuse and threats.

Although we enjoyed the holiday during the week and found the food and drinks enjoyable and rooms clean it was spoiled by rowdy drunks on stag week ends. If want a quiet holiday give this a big miss.

I found the staff to be friendly especially in dining room while the entertainment was average.

Just got back from this hotel yesterday we travel 3 times a year and had never been to the Costa Brava before I'm never one to moan as you can see from the points I have given this hotel so if you want the truth I am an honest person not a moaner.

The staff were lovely hotel spotless food good but not much choice and yes its chips with everything but it was tasty.

Drinks well there great I don't drink much but the substitue baileys was great just like the real thing, all the men drank it as well lol.

It was full off stag parties so never slept much they were very noisy but no trouble. Threw the waiter in the pool fully clothed, he took it in good humour.

If you fancy a night away from the stag nights then go to the Taurito bar in Lloret, lovely man does a great coco loco for 4 euros.

All in all a great holiday and we are in our 40s but hey its what you make it and we loved it and would go back again just hope they put potatoes on next time.

Booked this hotel last min for 2 people from 28th feb to 7th march.

Ive had a stroke so cant deal with noise. I was really worried about the reports I had read re hotel with stag/hen parties etc.,

All I can say is I could get to sleep no probs for 7 nights. The last time Ii was in Spain was 20 years ago. The only difference in the food was it was waiter service then. I still managed the buffet walking stick and all.

Could always find something to eat hot dishes wre hot breakfast the same.

We were on the 5th floor overlooking the pool but the music didnt bother me at all. Enjoyed what was going on round the bar and pool. The AI customers sitting drinking all day became part of the entertainment. As long as Icud sleep at night I am fine.

To pay £300 for 2 flight and hb for 7 days, how can you complain.

There are plenty of local restaurants British Chinese and Indian and of course Spanish.

I was expecting a bit of a horendous holiday but I thoroughly enjoyed myself, even came back with a sun tan at the end of feb.

Maybe we were lucky with room etc.,

Sounds as if the previous poster was there when we were, just a different room.

All I can say is that i had a far better holiday than I was expecting.

Lloret is not the prettiest of resorts but for a short break it was fine.

Have just returned from a week in Royal Beach what a week it was, I have never experienced anything like it.

The Hotel was clean.

The food although cold, was adequate, pitty about some of the guests it was like walking into a zoo, although come to think about it animals behave better than some of these loud, uncouth people. It makes you ashamed to be British. What the waiters and staff had to put up with was terrible.

All inclusive including drinks certainly attracts the low life of our society. It's a shame when most people are desent and have to put up with this. Drunks lying about in the main entrance hall is certainly not a good advert for this hotel, police brought in due to a room getting wrecked that was only on our first night.

By all accounts speaking to other decent people this is not the only Hi Top all inclusive hotel in Loret de Mar that is like this. Beware this is a destination for stag and hen nights and attracts excessive drinking and disorder. Don't assume going off season this hotel would be quiet like we did IT IS NOT.

Ended up here after booking the Pineda Palace. Hotel was clean. Food was OK but cold and had to heat up in microwave.

Location from beach approx 10 Min's walk but Fenals itself very boring and view from hotel room was of building work across the town.

Hotel staff were OK except for the arrogant desk staff who didn't cater for the English but 'do enough for the Spanish!

The usual karaoke turn was on on the sat night inviting up all the would be come dancing contestants.

I booked a three day holiday on the internet for me, my partner and his parents. It was a cheap getaway, a good deal and value for money. We arrived late but checked in with no problems, our cards were issued for our meals and drinks and away we went.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels each day. However, walls are thin and i could hear stilletto's on the ceiling, rythmic snoring from all sides and drunken scabbling in the corridor. I even had a couple of drunken misdailed calls in the night. I didn't notice any damp but there is definately an ant problem. Food was tasteless but edible..just!! and often food was cold if like me you went later, the microwave is handy but unappealing. No matter we found that if were selective with what food was on offer we could always find something half decent to eat..anything fresh or well cooked was usually ok.

Needlessness to say..the alcoholic drinks were grand but the coffee was something else.

Although we all had a good time and this break had been value for money i would not like to return to this hotel, mainly because of the noise caused mostly by inconsiderate holiday makers and the awful food. But thankfully the holiday is not all about the hotel, the resort itself is fine.

Was tranfered to the Royal Beach because the Royal Casino (original hotel had closed early) It probably would of been a pleasant holiday if the local council hadn't been digging up the road with bulldozers from early morning right under our window.

Rooms and beds were kept spotless and cleaning staff were pleasant.

Food was a plenty though repetitive " great if you like sprouts and carrots on a daily basis" you'll find the microwave very handy. You can get a snack between main meals (always the same again though.) Hotel coffee was aweful but we found a decent cuppa in the caffe "Roxys" over the road.

Very handy for Fenals nice beach just a two minute walk and a ten minute walk into Lloret with loads of shops between for presies and cheap booze to take home. The Lloret bus stopped right outside the hotel doors and only cost 90 cents to go into town but a taxi cost 7 euros.

Most of the staff were ok but a couple of them didn't have the time of day for you.

Didn't bother much with entertainment as there didn't seem to be much going on (maybe because of the time of year).

We would visit the hotel again if there was nowhere else to go to or if they made the walls a lot thicker.

When we arrived we thought the plane had taken a wrong turn and landed us on Blackpool prom. Young kids, mindless, staggering all over the place. Nighmare!

In the light of day, the next morning, things didn't seem too bad until we could actually see the state of the walls in our room. Damp everywhere. We moved to another room but the problem there was the noise, all day, all night. None stop, people don't always consider their neighbours!!!

The food was vile. Same stuff, every day, or recycled rubbish. It was never hot. We spent a fortune eating at the restaurant above Robin Hood where the food was great.

The cleaners were great, and the room (apart from the damp) was kept clean.

Entertainment was rubbish, we just sat outside and entertained ourselves, then went over the road.

All in all, would never go back to that hotel or resort ever again, not even if I won it in a competition. Absolute rubbish. Save your money towards something else.

Well what can I say... this was a fantastic weekend where many a friend was made!

From old to young everyone enjoyed their holiday, there was plenty of "loving feeling" going around especially amoung the older generation of our group.

The coffee and tea facilities were excellent especially those who like to drink holding china.

The bar was excellent especially the 7th floor with jacuzzi, a bar and plenty of lovely ladies. This entertained during the day and then at night it was a visit to the Hood with K and his friends.

The lady's were great fun and liked to dance the night away. Then it was next door for a delight from Burger World, this was a great finishing point on a great night however some liked to walk down to the beach and take in some sand or lose themselves in the lift.

I would recommend this hotel to all groups although when the karokee night started I thought "China in my hand" was just a bit to good!

Enjoy and don't forget to exchange contact details,I wish I had!

The Royal Beach hotel is a marvellous place to stay. It is spotlessly clean there were no insects or pests unlike my last trip to Spain in another resort, although the food is buffet style it's like a banquet and you can't end up hungry although big chaps like me found the tables too close together.

You can drink as much as you like and as someone who is teetotal i found that the selection of soft drinks available were more than adequate, I noticed 1 girl there who would have drunk the swimming pool given half the chance so for those of you that drink alcohol it must be like heaven.

The entertainment at the hotel was up to expectations with a swimming gala, music with a live band and Reggie's disco, the rendition of you've lost that loving feeling by the band was amazing (Top Gun enthusiasts should visit for that reason alone).

As a non smoker I would have preferred a no smoking area in the bar but the air con was good enough. The roof top area was the place to go in the day with bar and jacuzzi to pass the time of day there was topless sun bathing which I feel should have been identified so as to not shock the kids though.

This is the best hotel I have been to in Spain.

This hotel is a perfect holiday base for real ordinary people / families that like the basic stuff in life and realise you get what you pay for. There are no big issues other than it is a big hotel with a lively atmosphere if this is not your idea of a holiday then get a villa but this hotel will be half the the price and 'all inclusive'.

We have stayed in this hotel 6 times now ( the flight s direct from lbackpool are sooooo cheap) and are booked to return in March. The all inclusive is what you pay for and personally I feel the hotel offers value for money.

The rooms are clean and the bathrooms are spotless though the balconies from the second floor up are smaller we didnt spend any time on the balcony at all but if you do prefer a larger balcony ask for a room on the 1st floor they are twice the size.

During our stays at the Royal Beach the food has always been varied and our family have never gone without.

Last May we were there for a week and there were 12 of us and we never once used the microwave provided to reheat food , we all agree the food was well presented but sometimes not for the faddy eaters. The snacks in between main meals are repetative (chips, hotdogs, cheese bacon, salad, bread, fruit and ice cream) but who normally eats 6 times a day we just used the snack bar if we had missed main meal etc. or if the kids fancied some chips/ice cream inbetween.

If you are planning a day out you only have to let them know at reception the night before and they will put you down for a packed lunch each which you can collect from the dining room after breakfast they are great with a sandwich, cheese crackers fruit and a bottle of water.

The location couldnt be better. With us knowing the area you are within walking distance of lloret (15/20 min) but still close to shops and bars and the best beach (fenals) is 2 min from hotel it is that close that on days we were at the beach we left our towels etc there and nipped back for lunch/drinks.

Hotel staff tended to be sour faced mainly the bar staff downstairs but at the end of the day there are only there to serve you your drinks not to marry your daughter. On the other hand on the 7th floor there are 2 whirlpools and a small bar run by the most friendliest guy in the building (we spent most our time up there).

There is a good entertainment programme with nightly shows 5/6 out of 7 and kareoke / mini discos organised by the hotel entertainment staff on the others but I suppose it is down to individual taste. Our daughters are 6 and 9 and have never been bored whilst staying at this hotel but Imust admit the entertainment kids club wise was better last season but still nothing to complain about. There is entertainment for all ages if people want to take part which most the time they want to be left by the pool.

We will definately be back and if you are like us 'Average Joes' you will be too x

For the all inclusive price charged you cannot complain about this hotel. We caught it toward end of season which was probably ideal. I was impressed.

The place was spotlessly clean.

Food was basic but plenty, meal times even catered for our drunken stag do to get there in time!! Drink was a plenty, probably too much in all honesty.

Location was great, all you need do is walk across the road to Robin Hoods bar and then back to the hotel. From what we heard there was lots of other stuff to do and not far from the hotel.

On the hotel roof is a great bar and at the right angle you can see the sea from there.

The staff were great, just keep giving you free alcohol, beautiful, we even witnessed them save a drowner from the pool. They all make you welcome.

Entertaiment was your basic holiday stuff and reflects the price, we made our own most of the time and some even come and found us! The comedian called F O Denzyl was ok, but you need a drink to really appreciate him

I would go again, we have worn a path from bar to bar to assist other stag do's, we have probably left them some clothes too, our party tried to respect the family aspect to the hotel and perhaps it needs a few more to do so to make it more family appealing.

Was a little worried about some of the reviews I'd read before leaving for this holiday, especially as I was travelling with a 22 month old... never needed to have done though!

The food, yes there is chips everyday but there's also salad, cold meats, cheese, vegetables, bread soup, fish and pasta everyday, so selection for everyone I would say. The only down side is the restaurant gets very busy, there isn't a lot of room between the tables and you do have to queue, but there was never a problem finding a high chair and they are constantly bringing fresh food out.

The hotel is kept lovely and clean, and the rooms are cleaned throughly every day.

All the staff are friendly and helpful, even giving us bags of ice daily to keep my milk cold and fresh for my daughter.

The swimming pool area can get very busy, but it was a refreshing change not to have to race down early in the morning to get a sunbed, there was always plenty to spare.

The entertainment staff were great with the children although daytime activities were quite quiet. The mini disco in the evening was enjoyed by all and the adult entertainment was different every night, spainish dancers, a magician, 60s band etc.

All in all, an enjoyable holiday and yes would go back.
The hotel is about 5 minutes walk away from the beach.

This was our worst holiday ever!!!!! a family of 4 were placed in a twin room with barely enough room to dress the children.

The balconies are pointless they're tiny and white perspex is used therefore you can't see a thing.

The food was the same every day and when i say everyday the pasta that was put out on the monday was still there days later. It was cooked to death and tasted vile. We spent a fortune eating out as we couldn't bring oursleves to continue eating there.

The snacks for the children was left over food with chips, and that was it, no hot dogs some burgers but no buns. You couldn't get the children a snack and let them eat it by the pool, the entire family had to go to the resturant and wait inside for them to eat.

The drinks were a nightmare only 2 per time so if there was a few of you, 2 or 3 people had to queue.

Generally it was nasty and please do not waste your hard earned money and time staying in this hole.

This hotel was vile and ruined our holiday!!!!!!

The Royal Beach is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. Avoid this hotel definitely if going during school holidays. Queueing for 25 mins for a drink which were given in small plastic beakers (only 2 drinks at a time). If your kids like Rola Cola you will be fine.

Did not have any sleep due to noise. Walls are paper thin and rowdy holidaymakers had no consideration for anyone. Parents let their kids run wild at all hours of the day and night.

If you like burger and chips you will be fine. My 12 year old son ate cheese on toast and eventually we ate out all the time.

This hotel makes the worst food I have ever tried. We had our meals at the restaurant opposite for most of the week.

The drinks were served in small plastic beakers until about 8:30 which were changed to small glasses.
The hotel itself was very clean. The pool area was very busy.

The security was unable to control children from smashing ashtrays in the pool and letting "stink bombs" off in the lifts.

On the last night people were playing football in the hotel foyer.

The musical entertainment seemed to be repeated hourly at the speakers maximum volumne. Certain staff could be rude.

This is one of the worst hotels we've ever had the misfortune to stay in. Unfortunately they are trying to cater for too many different types of holiday guests and they do not mix well. We booked it as it was described as a good place for families and couples wanting a relaxing holiday. During our stay there was quite a few stag and hen parties as well as families, couples, single mothers with young children and elderly and infirm people. The walls of the hotel are paper thin, you could even smell when someone in the next room lit a cigarette! Consequently every noise could be heard. Lost count of the number of times we heard talking, shouting, laughing and people having sex! Not great if there are young children listening!
The noise went on constantly so don't go there if you are expecting to sleep at all. Don't mind any one having a good time on holiday but don't want to constantly have to listen to them!

We complained to reception on several occasions when the noise was continuing after 2am in the room next door and were then subjected to abuse, knocking on our door at all hours, phone calls to the room during the night and intimidation everywhere we went in the hotel. Hotel security seemed unable to deal with the problem. In the end they moved us to another room which was slightly better.

On a good note the hotel is clean and most of the staff are quite pleasant. The food is hit and miss. Don't fell like we ate a proper meal the whole time we were there and ended up eating out towards the end of the week. Also spent a lot of time down on the beach, (it was the only place we got any sleep!)

Hotel needs to decide who it wants to cater for families, couples, elderly people or 18-30's! and soundproofing is a must. Most of the other guests that we spoke to, or could hear talking, were complaining mainly about the noise and unruly behaviour of certain groups of guests.

Stayed all inclusive for ten days which was long enough as food is a bit repetative after a few days.

The room was nice and big, cleanliness was excellent bedding and towels changed daily, cleaning staff were very good.

Only a couple of minutes to beach, very dissapointed as it is shingly I do like a nice sandy beach.

When the entertainment was on in the evening I felt that I was at Butlins, as there were so many young couples who just let there children run riot at 11pm, it is right opposite a noisy pub but when your on holiday you expect a bit of noise.

Overall it was a nice holiday and nice hotel.

I wouldnt go back to this hotel only because of the beach..

Second time at this hotel, and the thing that impresses me most is the cleanliness and the work done by the cleaning staff. Every HTOP hotel I have stayed in seems to have this as a major plus.

Food was quite good as there was always something on the menu I was happy with. As you are getting buffet meals you will not get steaks/king prawns etc but they did seem to have made an effort to improve the quality since last year. As in most Spanish hotels fresh vegetables were in short supply, but they did have plenty of fresh fruit available. Only downside is that the coffee is still terrible(the supermarket opposite does a great trade in nescafe) and you can't get fizzy water at the bar or in the restaurant.

Evening entertainment was hit or miss but having seen some of the turns before I gave most of them a miss. The acts are ok for filling a couple of hours at night.

Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

As we booked on a late deal when we arrived at the hotel we were not booked in, reception staff were very helpful and problem solved very quickly. Room was a decent size and very clean towels/bedding changed daily TV in room although all channels were non English speaking.

Food was fine and plenty of it, bar staff were very nice.

Pool area very clean although I would imagine there would maybe be a shortage of sunbeds in the height of summer.

Location excellent right on the beach, plenty of small souvenir shops and cafes/bars dotted around. A bit of noise from railway line but you soon get used to it.

The only annoying thing we found was a horrible smell every evening in the main reception, manager was out spraying air freshener to combat it. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Food quiet good a lot of choice and kept hot but very repetive. Nice location as close to shops and bars, the beach is about a 2 minute walk and if you want to go anywhere else the buses stop right outside the hotel and the taxi rank is just a few yards up the road.

Good choice of drinks but served in plastic cups until 8.30 in the evening!

Good place to stay for a short break, but would not like to be there in the summer as I think it would get very busy and packed there.

Entertainment was awful.

Most of the staff were nice just a couple that wernt very helpful. On our last day a lot of young people arrived at the hotel they were various football teams they were under teachers/adult supervision.

They ran up and down the landings, broke the lifts, kept banging on our door and running away this went on from 12oclock till 4oclock in the morning security were unable to control the situation as this was happening on every floor. Was so glad I left the following morning.

The food was bland and basic as expected for a Spanish all inclusive, and there were microwaves available for the English who like to eat their food hot (Spanish don't). All in all, there was a fair amount of choice and all well cooked - can't say anymore as we didn't pay very much and so didn't expect gourmet meals!

Snack times we personally found frustrating as they did not serve drinks at these times and so we had to walk to the bar and bring our drinks through, which is a little walk. Also, you had to queue at the bar, one side for hot drinks and the other for cold.. no deviation, even if no queue! Not really a problem but a bit of an irritation (especially when you miss breakfast!)

The local red wine was a little vinegary - but add a little lemonade and it makes it bearable!

This hotel clearly used to be a four star, but seems to us to be very much a three star (however it wasn't hot and thinks always look better in the Summer).

We travelled at the end of November beginning of September and were told that we could use any of the Top Hotels facilities within the area, and we were looking forward to using an indoor pool. However, every other hotel was closed which the man at reception thought was hilarious!

The weather was long sleeved tshirt weather to coat, gloves and scarf! Varied quite a lot but overall much better than the UK.

Don't be afraid to use the transport system, it is so easy and very cheap! There is a bus station in the centre of Lloret, which also takes you to Blanes train station... this was a god send for us visiting in November.

Hotel seems to attract stag and hen parties who start drinking at 10am and don't stop till 12am when all inclusive ends. Never got no sleep as fighting and shouting starts then in corridor.

We ate in restaurant twice first when we arrived just in time to see chef put left over gravy into soup as soup was running out. Food was bland and not hot people used microwave to heat meals. Breakfast no better eggs stuck together cold. Older people ate out cafe over road.

This hotel was very clean and the rooms nice but never 4 star have never seen food like it and more like an 18 to 30s hotel

The hotel itself is kept very clean and the staff friendly as always.

It is very close to Fanals beach, very handy when you want some peace and quiet to sunbathe weather permitting of course.

I would use this hotel again but on a bed and breakfast basis as we spent a great deal of time eating out
I did feel the hotel had a lot more nationalities visiting this year and some were fairly rude.

39 of us went to this hotel.(Few families, and mostly youngest). My self being one.

The rooms were cleaned every day but very very small. We were over looking the pool area.

Pool size was big and the pool area x.

The bar stuff wasn't that friendly but the entertainment was very good.

Staying all inclusive the food was not nice at all the only food I ate was chips drinks where good though. I ate out mostly.

Being part of a big group we had lots of complaints about noise but what do you expect as we would range from 12-25 in youngest.

Good air conditioning in the hotel. not far from the beach but the beach is not sand and hurt my feet not much to do in Lloret, you could get a bus to Salou and other town around, everywhere was too far to walk but the market was not far. You had a supermarket across the road and a few other shops and pub but other night cubs where like 10-15mins walk.

My friends also when to this place last year but not the same hotel they went to Royal Star and said it was a much better hotel and more friendlier staff.

We also meet lots of welsh people out there too!!!!!!!

The walls in the room are thin and you can hear people in the next room and walk in 4-5 @ night. This hotel is not for families but for youngster who like to party but I would like to come back to this hotel but I would like to view others 1st.

Last August I returned to the Royal Beach hotel after my first visit 4 years ago. The receptionist even remembered us.

The staff at this hotel are very friendly and helpful.
The food excellent. They cater for everybodies needs.

For example they have traditional dishs such as paella which I personally enjoy. However they also cater for the less daring who like to stick to what they know such as, burgers, sausages and chips. Which my mum was happy with.
My room was very clean and so was the hotel.

The entertainment was good however there are a few children in the bar until late. But the entertainment was also for them.

This is a great hotel for adults who don't like holidays like 18-30's, like me. And really good for children especially the entertainment.

I would highly recommend this hotel. I have just booked my holiday today to go back for the third time.

I really don't understand all these poor comments about the hotel.

This is definitely not a 4-star hotel as we understand it! We were quite worried about visiting this hotel after reading reports the day before we left (wish we'd done that earlier!)

Regarding cleanliness we agree with other reports, the hotel was very clean, and the rooms were kept spotless, although the maid "tidied" the bed on several occasions rather than made it up properly.

The food was always well cooked and presented but deadly dull!! Not much variety, and we only saw one "Spanish" item in the whole week - a half-hearted paella! The children's food looked very unappetising, my son said the only tasty things were the fish fingers, the same stuff appeared every day. You had to queue in the dining room to get an alcoholic drink, we found the bar staff quite surly at times.

The dining room itself was over-filled with furniture, often leaving no room at all between tables, you had to get up to let other people in and out.

The location, as far as the nearest beach is concerned, was accurately described, ie about 5 minutes walk away, however the beach (fine gravel, not sand) is not the best in the world, definitely not safe for young children at the water's edge, as they sank into the gravel quite easily. As for getting to the main town, this was not too far, about 10-15 minutes walk, albeit up quite a steep hill at first (not mentioned in our brochure!)

The entertainment for adults was quite poor, worth watching on one night only for the comedy value(not that it was supposed to be funny ... and that was after several drinks!) The children's entertainment during the day looked interesting but my son, at nearly 12, felt it was too young for him to get involved. Anyway, it's each to their own - we met some couples who had been there several years in a row (!?!).

The worst things about the hotel were: the noise coming up from the bars outside (our room overlooked the crazy golf course and had several bars nearby). We were woken several times by groups of young French and/or Italians coming in late and singing as they went past our room. The other bad thing is the ridiculous limit of 2 drinks per adult. When you are sitting in a group of 8 or 10 and half the adults have to go up to the bar together to get enough drinks for everyone, it's madness!! And it took ages to get served. You couldn't even take your other half's card up and get 4 at a time - not allowed.

There was only one choice of draught beer, which, according to my husband, was not particularly nice - he often went over to the pub across the road with a few others to get a decent pint!

Last but not least - we were really annoyed to find no remote control in the room - we were told at reception you had to pay 20 Euros to get one - at the end of the week we found out this was a deposit and we would have had it returned!! Not made clear at all.

We most definitely would not go to this hotel again.

Just arrived back from a week stay at the Royal Beach Hotel, very worried prior to going due to the reviews that I read. Due to being a family of 5 booked 2 rooms, would advise if you are a family of 4 and booking late deal would be better to book 2 rooms as the rooms do not fit 4 in comfortably.

The hotel was very clean, cleaner that cleaned our rooms were very pleasant.

The hotel had quite a good choice of food, some people complained but we are in spain and the food seemed to be the same as previous hotels we have stayed in. The hotel had a childrens section that had on chips or potatoes, meat dish, fish fingers or nuggets, pasta, boiled ham and cheese. The other section had a good selection of cold salads, 2 different soups, pasta dish, fish dish, meat in gravy, grilled meat dish also one vegetable dish. You could always find something to eat. Snacks were toast, chips, burgers. You could get ice cream all day in the restaurant. The dining area was very clean.

Bars - you seemed to be queing all the time, at the main bar - adults were allowed 2 drinks and children 1 drink at a time, so one adult could not go to bar and get one drink for the family, one adult would go and you need to drag all children to get there drinks. At night the queues were worse for the entertainment, but there is an adult bar that there is not usually a queue at so quicker to slip through to this bar.

The best thing about this hotel is the roof top pool, no queues the nicest barman you could meet really pleasant smiles and chats to you, he gets to know you and what you drink, young children can go to the bar for their drink and he is really nice with them. There is a small pool up there which is good for young children, very quiet no screaming and shouting. The door to roof top opens up at 10am so no reserving beds you just get up to door at about 9.55, usually lots of spare beds. The pool on the ground floor is decent sized lots of beds, usually lots spare, but very noisy.

The entertainment is ok the children enjoyed the mini disco and the adult entertainment is worth watching.

Location - close to the beach, beach nice but sea very deep very quick, not safe for children unless adult sat watching.

We went to Hotel royal Beach Lloret de mar Spain in July 2005.

The hotel was very clean and in a very good posistion only a couple of hundred metres from the beach.

This hotel is a 4 star but the food and drinks make it more like a 2/3 star. Somedays we had no choice but to eat out because the food was awful and as for the drinks it was like drinking value soft drinks value coke etc. Adults can only get 2 drinks at a time and children only one.

The rooms were very clean the maids worked exceptionally hard.

All in All I must agree with some of the other guests you get what you pay for and we didnt pay much for this hotel and will definatly NOT be going back to this hotel.

Although we visited the Royal Star just down the road and that was 10 times better but further from the beach.

Last year our group travelled to Costa Dorada with Fleetway and stayed in a 4* all inclusive hotel. This hotel is NOT a 4* hotel!!

The hotel is clean and the staff are very friendly but they are the only good points!

The food is terrible. The choice is minimal. Unless you like cold and greasy food DO NOT stay here! Our group existed on chips and bread rolls most of the week. Luckily there is a shop across the road so i could get my children something to eat.The all-inclusive food during the day is chips, chips and more chips. If you want anything to eat you have to remain in the dining room and they will not let you in unless you are dry and dressed. We were lucky on a couple of occasions we did manage to sneak some ice-creams out for the children!

You are only allowed 2 drinks per adult and one for children which is ok when you're only in a small group but there were 8 of us! The queues were generally very long so be prepared to be queuing and not sun-bathing! We went out of the school holidays so i dread to think what it must be like in high season.

The location was ok but noisy at night. The entertainment was also ok but always indoors. It is much nicer enjoying the Spanish evenings outside rather than in a smoky bar. The air-conditioning is also very powerful so most of the time you are sat feeling very cold!

We did visit a nearby waterpark which was very good.

I know everyones opinion is different but this hotel really is bad! I would never stay at the hotel again and we are currently speaking to Fleetway about the mis-selling of this hotel. The Royal Beach is NOT 4*.In our opinion this hotel is 2* maximum.

Arrived 11am told we have not been paid for your stay, panic! No problem call home and tell them it will be ok, let’s take your id photo and go and use facilities.

Got into room very clean, over the two weeks standard excellent, maids always happy and polite every time they saw you.

Food was ok do not expect 4* when you are paying 3* prices. Always something that I liked although some people might find it not varied enough. If you like calamari go to the children’s buffet they have it more than main buffet.

Only 2 mins from beach lovely and clean, unfortunately when we were there was an explosion of jellyfish had to be careful. If you go to the larger beach just off the centre of Lloret it is about a 15min walk.

Main pool is large but if you like a nice swim you have between 9 and 9.30. Rooftop was my favorite lots of sunbeds, two Jacuzzi’s and large paddling pool for kids and adults. No long queue's at Jose’s bar who is very friendly and is there all day to serve you with a smile and a chat.

I found all hotel staff helpful and friendly.

Disco for children first hour and then main act for following hour the disco till midnight. Main acts were ok

Arrived at the hotel at just before midnight. My first impression was that it didn't look much like a four star hotel. You know what thay say about first impressions!

We got into our room which was clean and tidy with a huge balcony. We were fortunate that we had a room on the 1st floor corner hence the extra balcony space. Whilst having a glass of beer in the bar opposite, two Police vans pulled up outside the hotel and several officers ran into the hotel. Not sure what was going on but this didn't look hopeful.

The bar downstairs was always busy and the queues long. The drinks during the day are served in what can only be described as thin plastic cigar tubes. The all inclusive guests seem to make use of this facility a great deal hence the long waits for drinks.

The meals were awful. Warm, overcooked, soggy and without any pride taken, it was presented badly and the ingredients used were clearly very poor indeed to maximise profits. We ate in the restaurant 3 times. The last involved us having sausage and chips. Well you can't go wrong there can you? Wrong! Cut into the sausage and found a two inch piece of what could have been bone or plastic. That was it for us. We then ate out all the time. I persoanlly would not feed the swill they served to a dog. Not even a starving one!

The rave reviews I read about this hotel before hand led me to believe that the 4 stars were justified. I think it is important to note that the average guest at this place is of a less fortunate disposition and so you have to weigh up reviews against who you imagine would be writing them.

I would not go back to this hotel, Ever.

We arrived at around 3:30pm, had our photos done for f/i cards and were advised on the eating arrangements, had we wished to eat as soon as we arrived.

The hotel is immaculate and the cleaners were always cleaning and emptying ashtrays etc all the time. Other staff were very helpful, even if the job in hand was not theirs, they were always happy to assist you.

Rooms spacious and Clean, with a portable tv. You can get a remote control from reception for a small fee/deposit which is part returnable when returned.

Food was of a wide variety, although I am a picky eater and tended to stick to what I know, my husband was more adventurous and tryed out the many different dishes and desserts that were available. There was plenty of unlimited food and ice cream and plenty of variety for different tastes, the kitchen staff were continously filling the trays back up. In the canteen their were 2 sides you could queue on, both filled with the same food, so if you could'nt find what you wanted on your side, you could go to the other side. When we say queue, people tended to just move on to what they wanted whilst others were dishing theirs out, so you went through very quickly. Again the staff were very efficient in cleaning up tables and laying them out again and very polite.

Snacks consisted of the nicest chips ever!, salad, burgers, hotdog sausages, cheese slices, and any meat that was left over from the previous meal time. There was also always a variety of bread rolls, croissants, and bread available both at snacks and meal times, with small butter and margerine packs. There is also a bar in the canteen where you can get wine, pop etc for with your meal. They have sauce, mayo, mustard machines and also provided a few bottles of HP Brown sauce for those who had requested it. There is a cool toaster available at all times. There is also a microwave available at all times although we never felt the need to use it, our food was always hot no matter what time we ate. Breakfast was served from 8am -10am, lunch 12:30 -2:30pm, dinner 6:30pm - 8:30pm, whilst snacks were available all times in between up until 12am.

At the main bar for the pool and evenings the staff are very polite and fun, and again there was a lot of variety available for the fully inclusive including tia maria etc. They show their appreciation for small tips etc by ringing a big bell, so everyone knows you tipped them, which the kids found fun. Adult cards serve 2 drinks at a time, childrens 1 drink, but theres nohing stopping you, from getting served and going back to the back of the queue again, which goes down very quickly.

Entertainment was fairly good, The entertainment team were very nice and very with the children learning them dance routines etc and getting them really involved. Ramon, was a lovely guy, who remembers almost everyone by name and gets you feeling involved. Throughout the day the entertainment team, hold games competitions, including Crossbow, pool, pool polo, shuffleboard, skittles etc etc. These games are for both adults and children, in the evenings after the kids mini disco, they have a presentation each night were 1st place for all games recieve a medal and certificate and 2nd, 3rd place recieve certificates. After this the main entertainment comes on, be it a magic show, traditional dancing, or singers, one night we even had karaoke which was fun. Once the main act is finished they put on the disco songs again, this is when the adults usually join in after they have had a good few :) Depending on the crowd, they will cater for all types of music, throwing in the odd oldie for the older folks to have a jive or whatever. When the song Amirillo comes on the whole club get up and form a chain around the club, very fun.

There are 3 computers provided in the large hotel entrance, it cost 1 euro for 20 mins which you can top up with cents if you need to. There is a small gift/sweet shop also in the main entrance where you can buy novelties, crisps etc.

There are 3 main lifts, all were in working order for the duration of our stay and there is one glass lift behind reception which goes up the side of the building, nice view, also always in working order.

There is a rooftop where there are 2 large jacuzzi's and a small pool, and a bar. In some brochures it says children are not allowed up there, but they are. There are plenty of sun loungers provided up there, and its obviously a little quieter than being by the main pool downstairs.

The main pool, is the biggest I saw while I was there, there is also a little pool attached and seperated by a small metal fence to ensure the little ones were safe to play, although they all seemed to play together in the big pool. You are allowed to take all sorts of inflatables in to the pool, and there is an enourmous ammount of beds available both pool side and they also have a seperate part on the next level were if you did'nt want to chance being splashed you could go up there and bathe instead. Also lots of tables and chairs and umberellas around both areas. Their is also a childrens park area. If you get a room overlooking the pool its very nice as all rooms have balconies.

After dinner there is a seating area in the main entrance with couches were you can go sit to cool off or to have a smoke and a coffee etc.

There is a kwiksave right opposite the hotel, and both sides of the street are lined with clothes, shoes, gifts, food shops, which was very handy.

The beach is a stones throw away, although you can't see it from the hotel, its just through a side road, it doesnt even take a minute to walk to it, it is a gravel beach, so does'nt get as messy as normal sand. There are pedalos and boat trips to other beaches etc available from there. Very nice. There is also a bus stop right outside the hotel.

This hotel is situated in a very good location with in 15 mins access to everything in Loret including the local Water world which we would reccomend you visit, a free bus is lay on for this, and many other excursions which you can book through the hotel.

I could go on all day telling you about this hotel, I think I've covered most things, we loved it!, our only regret is we have to wait for another year to go back!

Our children are aged between 11 and 15 and all loved it, they did'nt want to come home, we also had my sister in law and her 6 yr old son meet us there, and they too loved the whole thing. Hope this helps somebody to choose a great holiday.

We have just got back from the Royal Beach, we wish we could have stayed longer, we didn't want to come home!!

The hotel is spotless, maids are in your room every day to change your bedding & change your towels.

The food is o.k not much choice for children and a bit of a combination. Every day pork was on the menu, but you did get days when the variety was lovely.

The location was great, 2 mins walk to Fenals beach and about 10 mins walk to Lloret centre, but there is a regular bus that stops right outside the hotel.

The majority of the bar staff where friendly when you get to know them.

The entertainment staff are lovely, please say Hi to them from us!

Arrived after midnight, the all Inc had finished but the guy on reception told us that the Robin Hood bar (over the road) was open till 3am, and that we had to return for our photo cards the next morning before we went to breakfast.

Hotel rooms are very clean, done every morning, towels and beds changed every day. Maids very friendly and always spoke.

The hotel is immaculate even pool side toilets which I was very surprised at.

2 pools one being for children and plenty of beds and chairs to lounge on.

Food was a bit hit and miss but there was usually something for everyone and all the staff were polite and friendly.

The entertainment was also hit and miss but if you could stand it for an hour or so then the disco was on afterwards until midnight, in which the entertainment team joined in with adults and kids.2 drinks per card at the bar at a time and also every day they had a "cocktail of the day" which were very nice.

Fennels beach only 2 mins walk from hotel and 15 min walk into Lloret centre.

Lovely holiday, my husband and I would go back.

I booked the Royal Beach Hotel for us (5 girls) to celebrate our birthdays as they all fell in March. Flights with Ryanair were fine and we grabbed a taxi to the hotel. On arrival we checked in fine and were given our keys. Rooms were as expected, 3 in one room and 2 in the other. I could not fault the hotel. The staff were great, pool was lovely (bit chilly - but that was due to time of year).

My only concern was the food. I am a bit fussy and so all there was for me was chips and bread - but the other girls were more adventerous and tried spagetti, pasta salads and other spainish dishes.

I would stay at this hotel again, but not as all inclusive.

Only just back form this hotel. We made our own arrangements i.e. flight with Ryanair, our own taxis and booked the hotel with late rooms.com. All in this cost £230pp.

Hotel: On arrival be warned that they take your photo when you check in for all inclusive guests (mine was a mess and was printed on a card and showed up on the tills every time we got a drink). Drinks were excellent and bar staff very quick and friendly.

FOOD: The food was as expected in any Spanish hotel: soup, salads, variety of hot dishes though for some reason pork was on the menu every night. There were also specialty dishes every night e.g. mussels, paella etc. There was always a pasta dish, fish, vegetarian, two meats and Bolognese sauce and gravy etc. I have to say that in the 8 days we stayed there was only 1 might were there was no alternative to chips (most potatoes on the meat dishes and not separate. Desserts were the only downfall and consisted of creamed rice, jelly, custard, blamange and fruit.

Please take note that if the food was lukewarm there were micros all around the restaurant to heat it up although we did not need them. Snacks consisted of burgers, chips, hotdogs, bacon, salad, rolls, toast, ice-cream and usually pork chops or whatever had been on the meal that night.

ROOMS: Rooms were very spacious and hotel including rooms the cleanest I have ever stayed in.

ENTERTAINMENT: Entertainment was not great however, hotel was catering to a large number of foreign coach tours of middle aged people therefore a lot of waltzes etc. The music got more up to date as the night went on. A lot of the entertainment was dependant on the crowd and we were lucky enough to have a lot of young ones there.

OVERALL: Excellent value for money and I would definitely go back even though our weather was horrible

We went to this hotel not expecting much at all, we paid peanuts for it (£200 each for all inclusive) and therefore expected not a lot. From reading several bad reviews, this also put us off too! We were so wrong. I am pretty hard to please and normally pick faults with most hotels etc.

We arrived at the hotel at about 11:00pm, you get a photo taken and given an ID card (if all inclusive). This is for your drinks and food, you can get two drinks per card per visit to the bar. Depending on who serves you, you can sometimes get away with taking two cards up yourself and getting 4 drinks. Baring in mind we arrived late we knew the food had stopped, however they were still serving snacks and the kind man behind the desk told us to hurry to get something to eat (stopped snacks at 11:30pm). To be honest, the snacks are quite poor, burgers, chips and hotdogs. However the rest of the food is good, which I’ll come to later.

Our room was great, no problems at all with it. Fairly modern decor and very clean (as was the hotel). You couldn't complain about it. (You have to bear in mind that generally you are paying very little for this holiday, but I could have quite easily paid a lot more for this). The cleaners come every day and make your beds and change your towels which is good. I read things about people saying that they barge in and clean around you if you're still in the room. This is incorrect, they'll knock, open the door and if you're in there they'll say sorry and come back later. We came back to the room one day to find one of the wall lamps hanging off the wall. A cleaner had obviously knocked it off. I rang reception and they already knew about it and someone came up to fix it quite promptly.

The walls are pretty thin in the rooms, if you have loud neighbours then you'll have to put up with it! Hotel rooms are generally like this anyway. One night we had two couples making a lot of noise at 5am next door, I rang reception and they rang them straight away (I could hear the phone ring) to tell them to be quiet. They carried on and I rang reception again, as soon as I had put the phone down someone from reception came up (to the third floor) and knocked on their door and told them to be quiet. They were ok after that. I was impressed with the promptness.

On the whole we found all the staff friendly and accommodating. No complaints there.

Now onto the food. Again dubious of the food (as you would be) we didn't expect much. As I previously said the snacks aren't great, however the buffet food was pretty good in my book. There was always a soup on. There was a great choice of salads, followed by the hot food - normally meats, fish and pasta and then desserts which comprised of cake things, jelly, tubs of ice cream and blamange. A good selection of bread rolls too. Be warned though that there were chips every day! Not any other choice of potatoes apart from one day where they had fritter type things, and when they have a fish dish you will get boiled potatoes in that. Upon our first meal we did actually find the food to be only lukewarm, we were a little concerned about this. Being fairly intelligent though (!) we thought that for the next meal we'd get there for when the food started to see if it was hot then. It was and no problems at all. Also if you attend the restaurant while it's busy then you're also guaranteed hot food as the trays are turned around quicker, hence all hot food. Obviously if food trays are out for a while then they will get cold, you have to use your common sense!

The outside pool was fine, fairly big with ample seating. The evening discos were ok, got a bit samey though. There are two other hotels within close proximity - Royal Star and Casino Royal, where you can use for eating and drinking in if all inclusive (we did and again were good). They all have a board showing the entertainment for the day, if you don't fancy the entertainment in one of them then simply go to another. If you have children then the kids entertainment looked quite good, there were activities throughout the day and the entertainers were nice and friendly (two women at Royal beach and 2 men at Royal Star - don't be put off by the men, they were nice young local guys.). There was usually a kids mini disco in the evening too which the kids always enjoyed.

The Royal beach is about a 15/20min walk to the main centre which then leads down to the main Lloret beach which is fantastic! A lovely front for walks etc. Fenals beach is about a 30 second walk from the hotel! Again a lovely beach on a smaller scale without the bars etc. that the main beach has.

There was no trouble with guests at all at the hotel, mainly older people which is fine. This is probably down to the time of year we went though, perhaps in the summer it would have a lot younger people and then maybe you would get the odd incident and bunch of yobs? Only a guess.

Think we have covered everything, we hope this helps as we have been as honest and as detailed as possible. Overall a very good hotel.

The Royal Beach!? I don't know how they have the audacity to use the word Royal!

I arrived home from the hotel 2 nights ago and have just come back from the doctors as I am suffering from food poisoning and have been all the week. I knew this at the beginning of the week, however I had to continue to eat, what can only be described as the worst, disgusting, vile tasting food I have ever tasted in my life. My children had to live off fat filled chips and bread rolls as everything else was inedible. Their soloution to cold meals was a microwave, so it's no surprise everyone was ill, cross contamination everywhere you looked!

I read the reviews before coming away and decided to ignore the bad ones, plus I didn't have a choice as we had already paid it.

We had 4 beds in our so called family room, 2 of which were camp beds, it was more like a hostel, we didn't even have bedding until we demanded it. That took 5 attempts.

I have stayed in four star hotels all over the world, and I can't believe that they are allowed to get away with it.

We got a petition together whilst we were away, and am currently sending it to our so called travel agency, that assurred us a good time. We had to pay for the majority of the drinks menu, and the only entertainment was a pool table which costs 2 euros and an amusement arcade. We spent our entire holiday money on these machines, so as to entertain our children, we even had to buy our own water if we wanted it in our room.

Four star to me means a well stocked fridge in my room which is regulary topped up, but no, you have to queue at the bar, whereupon the self caterers get served first, and all inclusive are treated as second rate citizens!

This was a waste of my time, my families time, and we paid for the privelege to be ill.

You can visit the other hotel but you have to book if you want to eat, and you are not allowed to eat in your own hotel if your leaving that day, but are not being picked up until the night time!

I would not put my dog in this hotel so take heed please. I beg you!!!!

The hotel was very clean, the maids were working from 8am for at least 12hrs, clean towels every day, bed sheets changed once within the week, rooms washed and mopped daily.

The food was average, you never went hungry, I am a 'fussy' eater and I was always full, and there were lots of choices, it was not always 'hot' but you can reheat your plate in the microwave in the dining area. (If you like a good cup of coffee then I suggest you take your own jar!!

The location of the hotel was great - 2 min walk to beach, shops up and across the main road where hotel is, English bar across the road (open late)regular buses to take you to lloret town centre which cost 90cents(63p) each way (well worth 4hrs walking round the shops in lloret)
Staff were all friendly, in particular Santana (reception) he was lovely and polite and helpful.
Entertainment was average, but similar every night.

The hotel was very clean.

Fresh towels every day.

All the staff were very friendly.

Hotel is in a excellent location 1 min from beach shops and bars right outside hotel.

The food was excellent lots of choice.

Entertainment was good something different every night.

Pool was great kids loved it.

The only bad point was too much smoke in the reception/lounge area but other than that it was brill.

Will go back.

My family and I stayed in one of the other H-top hotels (Royal Sun) but we visited Lloret and had our lunch at the Royal Beach. The food was nice but nothing too special. But it's a shame there aren't many cultural dishes because of all the Brits

Just left this hotel on Sunday, and we are looking to book for next year!

Whilst the food is a bit repetive, I can honestly say it's the best holiday we have ever been on.

The hotel is kept emmaculate, and the staff are so friendly, no stone is left unturned to make your stay enjoyable!

The Royal Beach Hotel is in an excellent location. It has a bus which stops outside every 15 mins and takes you directly to Lloret or if you want to there is a taxi boat service which will take you to many of the other resorts on the coast for a very small price. The beach is literally about 1 minute away from the entrance of the hotel and is very clean and there are plenty of places to get food and drink if needed.

As we visited the Hotel in October, the hotel was not completely full but still quite busy. The children were kept entertained all day and were never a nuisance whilst we were there. The rooms were spotless and the cleaners were very friendly and always said "Hola" when we walked along the corridors. The Reception staff were lovely and very helpful, they would do anything for you to make you stay more comfortable.

The food was always in full supply, as soon as the tray was nearly empty another would appear. The only problem we had was that there was not much variety for vegetarians and some of the food was not labelled properly but we did expect that to happen before we left so we were not disappointed. We also ordered picnics for lunchtime which we use to take to the beach each day and that was a really good idea if you wanted to go for a walk along the coast.

The roof terrace was a really good idea and it was really quiet as most of the families would be by the pool on the ground floor so it was a nice place to have a few drinks, read a book, and just relax.

The rooms themselves were always clean, there was the television with the few English speaking channels but that was enough for in the morning. The room was air conditioned and was cleaned every single day and we had fresh towels. We had three adults in our room and one of the beds was a camp bed but it was adequate for the week that we stayed there.

We went on the medieval castle night which was really good but you don’t arrive back at the hotel till 1am in the morning so the children started to get tired, but a really entertaining night. We never visited the other hotels in the group but it was nice to have the option.

I would recommend this holiday for people with children as there is entertainment for them and you would not have to worry about them not having enough to eat or drink as they have their own cards to get their food. I would also recommend this for people who would like a beach holiday as it is the ideal location.

This is not the worst place in the world to stay. It suited me as it was not too loud, but entertainment could have been better.

Rooms not dirty but cleaning was not great, had to clean floors myself.

Food very repetitive and not warm, maybe we did not go early enough. Didnt mind drinking out of plastic cups.

We got this holiday for a very good price so i can not complain, i think i got what i paid for.

Enjoy

We visited the hotel Royal Beach and were given two rooms between seven adults and one child. Bearing in mind that one was over sixty and did not want to sleep in the same room as her brother in law, and in another room my husbands sister did not want to share with her brother and myself. Plus the smallish room had four beds in each two of these were camp beds. We complained to the reception and told the only way around this was to pay for another room which we had no option but to do so, but they could only promise us this room for five days and the last two we had to wait and see if there was a cancellation, fortunately there was.

The hotel itself was clean and tidy and the cleaners were always pleasant and friendly. They came in daily to change the towels and make the beds, which were changed once.

The food was what I can only describe as diabolical; being a vegetarian the only real choice I had, if that’s what call it was chips cheese and onion, after three days we started to eat out. The children’s selection did not fill me with confidence as it looked like it had been there a while, but the flies did not complain. However my husband and father in law liked the food but they will eat anything.

Finally the entertainment was ok but nothing to write home about.

The pool was always packed and trying to get a sun bed was near on impossible. But a least the drinks were free and they were ok.

We visited Royal Beach in Aug/04...never again!!!
Cleanliness
This was fine...maids seemed to be about all day, which was nice.

Food
Wouldnt even feed my dog the food. Was freezing cold & if (like me) you dont like chips and chicken nuggets you aint going to have much luck im afraid!
The pizza place opposite the hotel is lovely, so is the steakhouse next to the mini-golf-try that instead!

Same goes with drink. Malibu & lemonade was just about drinkable. Not a lot of choice either. And dont get me started on the quest for the drinks. Keeping in mind the bar closes at 12!!!!!

We couldnt help thinking we would have saved a lot of money if we were to go self-catering!

Location
Perfect....2 min walk to beach,10 min walk to water park,20 min walk to lloret centre, couldnt of asked for better really!

Staff
Didnt really have any dealings with them, only the bar staff who did work incredibly slow..but seemed to want to get everyone drunk from the amount of spirits they used!!

Entertainment
What entertainment?
The only entertainment we found was the 20million (not an exageration!lol) kids in the pool area...you could hardly move in there. And there was no way you could sit around the pool to relax or read..you were drowned by the kids splashing you..or "bombing" you!!lol Also the kids that were on the roof top smashing glasses on peoples heads was also quite entertaining...i think not!! Maybe scary!!!
So I think I can safely say I will not be returning there!

I travelled to the Royal Beach with my daughter. This is the second time that we have been to the Royal Beach.

The hotel is kept very clean, cleaners come into the room every day to clean the rooms, and tidy up and make your beds if you are too lazy to do them yourselves. One day for some reason they hadn't been to our room, I called down to reception and they sent somebody up straight away. You can also call down to reception if you are having any problems (children running up and down corriders or noisy neighbours etc.) at any time of the day or night and hotel security will deal with it immediately.

The food is good, plenty of choice, with snacks available between meals so you haven't got to go to breakfast, dinner and evening meals at the set times if you don't want to. Allowing more freedom to choose the way you want to spend the day. There are chips available for the children (or fussy adults) if you're not willing to try the food.

The Hotel is literally only two minutes away from the beach and there are plenty of shops within easy walking distance. There is also an "English" supermarket straight across the road. Perfect for anything that you forgot to pack.

Hotel staff were very helpful, I only came across one member of staff that I would say could have changed his attitude. Otherwise everybody else did their best. The only downside to the holiday is the two drink limitation. I drink "Black Russians", Vodka, Tia Maria and coke, and this counted as two seperate drinks, that meant that I couldn't take it in turns with anyone to go to the bar, therefore lots of queing to get myself a drink.

The entertainment was good, although there was only two adults this time, on a previous visit to Royal Beach, there was 21 of us, 9 adults and 12 children with a variety of ages. There were competitions held throughout the day, darts, table tennis etc. Lots of games in the swimming pool, with certificates and medals for the winners and runners up, which the kids thought was great.

I would thoroughly recommend this Hotel to anyone, and look out Royal Beach, because we will be back!!!!

Yes, where can I begin with this hotel. IT IS THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED IN. Overall the cleanliness of the hotel was very good. The cleaners were walking into your room on a morning, knocking first then walking in without you giving them an answer, which I thought was very rude as you may have been doing anything.
Our room was on the 2nd floor right above the main entrance which is in front of the bus stop which also has a pub across the road which is open until 3am!!to be polite it was probably the noisiest part of the hotel with buses pulling up every 15 mins and also the refuse collectors work night shift, without fail at 1:15am evry morning the refuse collectors were wcruising down the street in their big noisy truck, this helped me to get very little sleep.
The food I thought on the 1st day was ok, but as the days went on the more we were eating out, the food was nearly always the same and if you did not get there when the restaurant opened you ended up waiting to use the microwave as the food was cold, in the end we ended up eating out all of the time at a lovely steak house next door at the mini golf.
The entertainment was not the best, I have seen better in my local club, sometimes the entertainment was not starting until 11pm and the bar closes at 12am. The bar that is in the entertainment area gets extremely long queues, also you were only allowed 2 drinks at a time, mind you this did help us into getting free bottles of vodka to take home. LOL.
the only good thing was that you could get away from the screaming kids (which should have been at school) and go onto the roof top bar which had two jucuzzis and a small pool to relax in which was all strictly for adults only, mind you this did show as there was a couple making love in the jucuzzis, this actually went on for a couple of days before the staff got involved.

Overall the hotel was clean, fodd very poor and mostly far too noisy for me day and night.

This was our second visit to this Hotel. (Third visit for accompanying friends.)

The hotel accomodation was booked through Ferris Coach Holidays. Most of our party went by coach, however we flew with a couple of friends to Barcelona Airport catching a connecting train to Blanes. We then got a taxi which took 5 minutes to the Hotel.

The rooms were excellent and the maid service could not be faulted. Clean towels were provided each day, without fail, whether required or not.

We were All Inclusive. The food was varied, each meal however providing chips and salads for the non-adventurous eaters. You could not go hugry. The food trays were discarded and refreshed on a regular basis, which was welcoming given the horror stories you hear about on TV. Bar the 30 minutes breaks between meals and snacks, you could basically eat from 8am to 12 Midnight.

The Staff were great. The only comment we would make is sometimes the waiters tended to laugh and joke between themselves seemimgly ignoring the waiting queue. It is true you are only allowed 2 drinks per card, but that is truely the only inconvenience we experienced on this holiday. One which you soon become accustomed to.

The Entertainment could be better, however it could never suit everyone.

We would not hesitate to return and will be recommending friends and family to visit.

Just got back from two weeks at the Royal Beach, there is so much to write about this hotel.

Hotel.

The hotel was spotless, cleaners running around from early morning until late in the evening, we even seen them dusting the lightbulbs!, the hotel can be very loud with the amount of guests saying, and the evening entertainment when it is in full flow is very very loud, you need to shout to be heard.

At the bar you can only get two drinks at any one time, and at night the queues can get very long.
There were a few fights among the guests while we were there, at one stage during the night it was more like a riot with over 15 guests throwing punches and the police had to be called, but with drink flowing all day and night and over 300 people watching entertainment in the same room it is always going to happen.

You can also get the cocktail of the day, which changes daily. The bar closes at midnight and most people go across the road to Roxys or the Robin Hood pub. We found the Robin Hood pub to be the most expensive pub in fenals, avarage cost of a coke was £1.50 and a smirnoff ice worked out at just over £3.

We preferred to go to a internet pub around the corner called (yam yams), they welcome you if you have children by giving them colouring pens and paper. They also have the sumo wresling suits for adults which is great fun. Prices are around half that of Robin Hoods for drink.

There is a kids club run by the hotel and not the tour operators, they try their best but my daughter thought it was boring. Kids get rewarded with medals with the top hotel group logo on them if they win any of the activities.
The hotel also has a small games room with a few arcade games, these cost 1 euro to use and it can soon add up to quite a few euros.

There are leather sofas at the enterance to the hotel which are always full no matter what time of the day or night, With some folk just having a drink and 'people watching'..

The hotel has 3 lifts and 1 glass lift which has great views when you goto the 6th floor.
A word of warning, after spending the day at the beach, when you first walk into the hotel you will get a plesent surprise (the hotel is fully air-conditioned), everyone and I mean everyone seemed to say (oooooooooo thats lovely) when they came in lol.

Rooms.

We had room 146, which overlooked the Robin Hood pub and the minigolf across the road. The glass lift was right beside us.
Our round floor room was a very good size with 4 beds, dressing table/chair/bedside cabinets (though I did see some of the rooms on the other floors and they could have fitted inside our room with plenty of space left!).

There is also satalite tv in every room, but if you want a remote control to change channel (this can also be done on the front of the tv) then you need to leave a 20 euro deposit with reception (refundable upon return of the remote).

There are only a few channels in english, but the hotel has a dvd channel, which they show dvd movies in english all day/night. You can go to reception to look at the list of movies and book one (free of charge).

Bathroom had a sink, bath, shower and toilet.

Food.

The food was fantastic, and unlike some peoples reports on the hotel food, you could have soup, salads and meat dishes, fish, chicken, viel, pork and it was always hot, I did see a microwave but I never once had to use it.

It was mainly chicken or pork dishes and I must be honest and say after the first 9 days we were starting to get fed up with looking at the same things as the hotel rotates the dishes every couple of days. The deserts were the same everyday. There was 2 different kinds of what can only be described as a kind of angel delight substance (didnt taste like it), rice pudding, cake and jelly.
The snacks were also good with chicken nuggets, chips, bacon, sausage, fish fingers, burgers and salads.

The toaster was very slow and there could be upto 7 people standing waiting for their turn to use it.

During the set meal times (breakfast, lunch, dinner) you could get juice drinks from the machine, with tea and coffee, hot chocolate also.
The bars (one at each end of the dining room) were also open if you wanted wine, beer, cola etc.

During snack times you needed to go to the main bar and get yourself a drink and take it into the dining room with you.

Pool.

The pool was not of a great size for the amount of guests trying to use it. I did see the kids club trying to do water olympics at the shallow end, but hade to give up due to their being no room for them.

Some of the guests at the hotel were down at dawn, to place their towels over the sunbeds beside the pool, but to be honest, this was a waste of time in my eyes,as with the amount of people in the pool, these guests were always getting soaked with water being splashed over them.
There is a shortage of sunbeds at the hotel, the hotel seems to have more tables and chairs around the pool with a few sunbeds further back towards the kids play park ( slide,see-saw,swings etc)

There is also a kids pool and 2 jacuzzis on the roof as well as a bar, with around 60 sunbeds. We found there was always room there no matter what time of the day you ventured up and you did not have to wait for a drink as the bar ws always empty.
For anyone who likes to go topless, most people on the rooftop went topless sunbathing, unlike the pool area where everyone stayed covered up.

Beach.

I cant understand why people on these reviews say fenals beach is 3-5mins walk away as this is untrue.

The beach at fenals would be no longer than 50 - 60 seconds away.go out of the hotel door, walk past the phoneboxs, cross the road, walk past 4 unused shops and you are there.
The beach is shingle, though this did not spoil the beach (with sun oil its easier to wipe shingle off you compaired with sand). There are also showers on the beach.
You need to be careful with kids at the waters edge,as it is shallow for around 3 feet, then drops dramatically.
There are also ice cream booths along the beach where you can get ice cream, water, beer etc etc.
The beach is watched by lifeguards, who i must say do a great job. There were 2 rescues needed in the first 3 days we were there.you can get the boat taxis from the beach to other resorts (blanes beach etc) and also boat trips. With the depth of the water the boats come right up onto the beach and drop their steps for you to get on.

Location.

The hotel is in a very good location, with only 1 hotel between it and the beach, shops and bars are all around the hotel and its only a pleasent 10 min walk into lloret de mar town.

The hotel also has a deal, where you can goto the medieval night. The cost is 10 euros, which is for the coach, you get free enterance. If you were to book this outside the hotel the total cost would be near 50 euros per person. Booking a few days before you want to go is recomended as we could not go during the first week of our stay.you book it via the hotels reception and not the tour operators.

All in all we would highly recommend this hotel to familys or couples (though its mostly familys based there).

Good clean hotel with good food, you cant ask for anything else. I hope this review helps you as i have been as honest as possible in writing it.

just back from a great holiday staying at the royal beach hotel. the hotel was very clean and welcoming and reception staff were great.the rooms were basic but clean and the balcony was ok but could do with having a table.5 min walk from a great beach and good shops and bars all around the area.i'd say this hotel would be prefered by the younger generation. night time can be noisy but it's a great atmosphere in the bar and lounging in reception with a drink. also the bar men in the main bar are very cute and very friendly.hotel bar shuts at 12 but a quick walk across the road u have roxy's and the robin hood which was excelent with great staff. overall 10 out of 10 for everything great holiday.

Hi, we're just back from the Royal Beach it was the worst holiday I had ever been on!

The location of the hotel was excellent - 3 mins walk to Fenals beach which was really clean then a 10 min walk to Lloret de Mar.

The factilies at the hotel were not that good the 2 swimming pool well you could not even move in them because of all the people. The food was the same every day and I would not even feed my dog the food that they were making. The food had been sitting out for hours and it was cold. My family spent most of our money eating out every night because the food was that rubbish!

Accommodation was nice - it was small but you could live in it. I could never get to sleep at night because of all the fighting at night in the hotel. There was a fight every night at the hotel and it was noisly.

I would not even give the royal beach a 2 star never mind a 4 star. I would not go back even if somone paid me to, it was a hoilday from HELL!

This was the first all inclusive holiday my family has taken and we were not disappointed at all. The children never once complained about being hungry or thirsty, and having their own cards gave them the freedom to enjoy their holiday.

We found the all inclusive great value for money and would never consider self catering again.
The hotel was very clean and tidy, the domestic staff worked extremely hard and our room was cleaned daily, they made the beds swept and mopped and left clean towels every single day.

Although cleaning staff arrived early in the morning they would come back later in the day if you was not ready to have the room cleaned.

The food looked repetitive but having said that, each day you had a choice of dishes, meat, fish, pasta, salad etc. The snack bar was convenient and although my children are fussy eaters they did enjoy the food on offer.

All the staff were very friendly and worked extremely hard and very long hours, whilst still managing to maintain a friendly cheerful atmosphere, throughout the day and night.
The entertainment could have been better and there is room for improvement particularly in the evening.

The few nights when the entertainment appealed to us it didn’t start till quite late which meant the children became tired before it had actually started and therefore was uninterested once it got underway. Even so there is another H top hotel approx 5 – 10 minutes walk away and evening entertainment did seem ok there.

The only other negative thing is that if you are wanting beverages out of the inclusive hours, there is nothing available, maybe a coffee machine in the foyer would be of benefit for those wanting to purchase a drink after midnight.

The location is excellent only a couple of seconds away from the lovely beach, with lots of shops, bars etc. surrounding the hotel. The option of having a packed lunch free of charge also means you are not tied to getting back to the hotel for meal times.

The option to use all the other H top hotels is a fantastic idea too, meaning that if you chose not to actually spend any more money, you would not have to do, as the card given to you at royal beach entitles to use the same facilities at all the other hotels.

Overall we had a great holiday and will go back in the future. We will also recommend the royal beach to our friends and family, with the confidence that they will have an enjoyable holiday.

Hotel was great, I cannot understand the people who complain! They must have read up on the hotel before going, if not well it serves you right!

We travelled in peak season last year and had a great time. 5* kids entertainment, not much adult entertainment but life is what you make it.

Food was fine, good variety and always something to have, so what if it is a bit repetitive over 2 weeks! Do you eat different food everyday at home? Kids loved being able to go and eat burgers, chips, pizas etc, after all they are on holiday.

If you get sick of entertainment then there are a few good pubs close by reasonable and staff are very friendly...also great way to meet other people.

Overall I had a great time and have booked up for next July so from the 23rd....beware...lol

This is our second time at this hotel. Last time in August 2001.

The hotel was spotless. All rooms air conditioned.

Food was adequate - I'm a very fussy eater, but certainly didn't go hungry - there was something to suit everyone.

Quiet location suited us. Anyone looking for night life could get to the centre of Lloret de Mar in a few minutes.

Hotel staff were very friendly.

Entertainment was mostly suited to children. We didn't have any children with us so we mostly used the adult bar - a welcome child-free zone. Although the seats were not the most comfortable in the adult bar, we found them OK.

We spent most of the daytime on the roof. This was ideal for us, quiet and relaxing with a very courteous and pleasant barman, Jose.

The ground level pool area was ideal for families who always seemed to be having a great time - a bit too noisy for us oldies.

Would recommend this hotel to anyone. We will certainly be returning.

We visited the Hotel Royal Beach in July of this year and definately will not be going there again. The hotel rooms were very clean the cleaners visited every day.
We spent nearly all of our holiday spending money going to another hotel(half board) in the first week because we could not relax around our pool owing to it being far too overcrowded and unsafe!
We could not sleep at night because of the noise and fighting around the pool late at night.
We also thought it was diabolical the way the parents left their teenagers to their own divices every night therefore they had nothing better to do than to get so drunk they were throwing up everywhere.
I wish i had known about this webpage before we travelled i would have gladly cancelled the holiday and booked somewhere else at my own expense.

Rooms were kept very clean, towels were changed everyday and staff were very friendly!

A good Variety of food everyday for adults and children!

The Hotel could not have been situated in a better place it is central for everything!

Hotel staff were very friendly! reception staff were helpful. Bar staff work exceptionally hard, they always have smiles on their faces and make you feel very welcome!

we enjoyed our holiday so much this year...as soon as we got back home we booked to go again and stay at the royal beach. we only stayed for a week this year and were sad to leave so we cant wait until out 2 week stay next year! :D

We stayed at the Royal Beach Hotel from 11th July - 24th July 2004.
We stayed on an All Inclusive basis and found the food to be very repetative and very boring! it had no taste whatsoever and i dont think we had one "hot" meal in our 2 week stay! Every day was chips, salad, a meat dish and chops. The kids buffet didnt do much for mine either, aleays chips etc and always cold.
The cleanliness of the hotel we could not fault, it was very very clean and the cleaner for our room was a very nice lady. Towels were changed everyday (when they didnt forget to bring us some more!!)which is quite annoying when you dont find out that you dont have any until you are standing in the shower!!. Overall though, the hotel is a very clean and tidy hotel!
The Hotels location is brilliant, it takes about 3 minutes to walk to Fenals beach, shops surround the hotel as do restaurants and bars. Llorett town is about 15 minutes walk away or you can catch the bus from right outside the hotel. It takes about 20 minutes on the bus from the bus station on LLorett to get to Tossa De Mar, which is a good day out!!
The staff at the hotel were not the friendliest people i have ever met. The 2 guys that worked on reception were lovely, very friendly and very helpfull, they do a great job. The hotel bar staff have a very hard job to do and it shows, we found the majority of them to be very bad mannered and sometimes quite rude to other people, although a couple were really lovely guys!
The entertainers were soooo nice, they were a great laugh and very good with all of the holiday makers there, but......... the entertainment programme leaves a lot to be desired. Sometimes the main slot didnt start until 10-11pm which is a bit too late for some people, especially the familys that had very young kids, by then they were up in their rooms. I think they could re-decide how they work it!
As for ever coming back to this hotel again...... the way it is at the moment, no we wouldnt, we are not a picky family and we make the most of whatever we are dealt, a lot of the other holiday makers felt the same as we did! and would not return unless things were going to improve.

The rooms in the hotel were very clean from are room you could see the pool that was very good because my mum could leave us at the pool but keep an eye on us
The food in the hotel was good and there was a wide selection of food to choose from but if u are staying for 2 weeks it can get boring
the location of the hotel is very good it was a 5 minute walk to the beach and there was plenty of shops surrounding it and the big shopping center in loret was only a 15 minute walk or there was a bus right outside the hotel that comes every 15 minutes
The hotel staff were very friendly and they made u feel welcome
The entertainment was very good and if u like dancing its great
I would love to visit the hotel again it was a very nice hotel

I found this hotel to be the worst I have ever been to.

The food was awful the sunbeds to close together.

Some of the staff rude and unhelpful.

The entertainment early on is just the same tape night after night. Later on there are some good acts but in to late for younger kids who by then are either bored or tired.

The walls are paper thin and it is so noisy I couldn't sleep and I am a really good sleeper.

The drinks you get in small glasses not even as big as a half pint. Also only 2 per person which is not good enough when you have a few in your party.

The maids were wonderful and hotel very clean.

The resort really good and beach lovely.

We ended up eating and drinking out which we had not counted on.

We still had a good time but would never visit this hotel again

The hotel was situated in a really good position. Fenals beach is really close, and isn't too crowded. No sand though, just shingle. The hotel had a welcome pack, the other all inclusive hotels we have visited didn't have one. I didn't like the 'sardine' sunbeds. The sunbeds were put so close together you were really cosy with the person next to you. There is a good rooftop terrace with a bar and adult area.
we enjoyed the food, but it was never really hot. Even the snack food, was stone cold on the occasion I tried it.
Staff are pleasant especially if you have children!
The rooms are cleaned each day, and towels changed.
furnishing was good with plenty room, but there was only two of us.
very noisy in the night, this was mostly due to other holiday makers haveing rows with each other all night! and of course running down the corridors in the middle of the night. Our room overlooked the street, which was often noisy during the night, especially with coaches turning and the waste truck.
the entertainment was not good, and it started most nights after 11pm!

The hotel was probally cleanest that we have stayed in, however this is the only good thing I can say about it.

The first three nights we hardly slept because of noise, firstly from other people comming in drunk and using foul language, secondly the garbage truck arrives at about 5.00am ,then the builders start at 7.00am with their road drills and diggers.

On the corner of the Hotel is where all vehicles reverse so reversing alarms are continually heard through the night with new holiday makers arriving.

The food is very repetative serving the same at lunchtime as well as the evening also very bland.

lager louts use the hotel and the language around the pool is disgusting and very cramped. Entertainment is very poor.I certainly would question the star rating of the Hotel as in other brochures it is not rated as a four star. P.S> I would recomend the beach.

I'd been to the hotel before, in 2001, with my Dad and Stepmother. The hotel that time was good, this time it was better.

We travelled with my Dad and Stepmother again, along with my baby sister, aunty, cousin and one of my best mates. We had 3 rooms between us, all of which were very well looked after and clean.

There has been an extra lift added onto the end of the hotel, which moved faster than the regular 3 and had a glass casing. The 3 regular lifts had been changed so that they now moved up to the 7th floor rooftop area, which they didn't do last time.
The pools were as clean as ever, very well looked after.

The bar area is a great, friendly environment, as is the restaraunt (The restaraunt manager actually remembered us form 3 years previous!). The food served is almost always very nice, if slightly repetative. The snack bar (open during meal times) is a bit dull, chips, burgers and sausages on one side. Salad on the other side. With leftovers from the evening meal in the middle. The compensation for this is the hotel shops, which sells a wide range of savoury snacks and chocloates. As well as a good selection os souvenirs.
Failing to be satisfied with that, the surrounduing area is home to many, many shops. Selling a wider range of food and gifts (The probable best of which, is actually straight opposite).

The entertainment in the hotel is good, but seems to be set in a weekly cycle. When the free drinks from the bar finish at 12am, most residents still in the party mood simply walk across the road in the Robin Hood pub. It's a great friendly place, they play good music and are open til 3am. The drinks are cheap and the staff are great (The Robin Hood theme tune makes a great mark to signal closing time =P ).

The other hotels (Casino and Star) cannot be faulted either, both are as clean as Royal Beach and offer just as good facilities (If not better, mainly the gym and heated indoor pool in the Royal Star).

The beach, 100m from the Royal Beach Hotel, is a lovely place to wander down to on a night time (Especially with a special person ;). The sound of the waves and the (usually) clear, starry sky make for an excellent place to just lie and relax for a while.

I can't think of much else to say really, but I would definitely recommend the hotel and I'd love to visit it again in a few years, see what else has changed.

Just got back from Lloret. Royal Beach Hotel was excellent. The children thoroughly enjoyed it and didn't want to come home.

The hotel is very clean and the maid came every day. We were all inclusive and found the food to be lovely, although we were only there for 5 days and I imagine it could get a bit repetitive after 2 weeks, but there are plenty of bars/restaurants in the area if you fancy a change.

We would definately go to this hotel again and the only thing we were not so keen on was the coffee in the machines and there were no coffee making facilities in the rooms, so next time we would take our own.

Apart from this it was brilliant.

Spent a week here from 23.05.03 till 29.05.03 had a great time and would come back again. Can't fault anything about the place. Some people moaned about the food but I'd love to see how they eat at home.

Best pub around is the Robin Hood. If you drop in there say hello to Frankie for us. Very friendly in there.

Hope every one enjoys it there.

This is the second time I have been back to this hotel. We went a few years ago and thought it was brilliant, but this time it was even better.

We stayed from the 3rd of august to the 17th. The whole hotel had been refurbished and it looked better than ever. The hotel was part of the Playsol hotel group and we were able to use our all inclusive card at any of the hotels in this group me and my dad went to look at these hotels in Lloret de mar and we both agreed that ours was the best.

The others hotels were Casino royal, Alexis and Royal star. I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a good deal. The rooms had all been done out. The bedrooms were cleaned and the sheets were changed everyday.

The pool had new steps put in and the new sun terrace was brilliant. It really helped my tan along. Three square meals a day was great and unlimited alcohol was even better. There was always a good selection of food and although it wasn't exactly gourmet it was still very nice although by the end of my two weeks I have to say that I was very sick of eating pasta with bolegnese sauce.

All the staff were very helpful and the entertainment was great (even if we did have to watch Royal Beach three times). If you like Butlins entertainment then you'll like it here.

Particular mention to Alfie who was very helpful and who my sister thought was very cute. Overall I give my holiday at the Royal Beach hotel 10 out of 10!

I got back from the Royal beach last night and overall we had a good holiday. I stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks 3rd august - 17th august.

There were 3 of us sharing a room and we had enough space. even though we were over looking the main road it was still quiet at night. We could have done with a table on the balcony. We got given a leaflet that says no inflatables in the pool but thats rubbish you are allowed them. There were enough sunbeds for everyone. The pool was kept very clean and tidy.

The restraunt had a different choice of food everynight but the food was crammed together. Also the tables were to close together. After breakfast, lunch and evening meal they opened up the restrauntfor snacks. Which was the same everyday.

The entertainment at night was a bit repetative.Sometimes it was kids disco then music for 30 min.

I have say that the Royal Beach was an excellent hotel with great service and rooms were cleaned every day with the sheets being changed every other day. The food was ok, I thought there was a wide range available.

One great thing about being All Inclusive, you can eat and drink as much as you want!!

I also thought that the location of the Royal Beach was great! 5 minutes on the bus (a bus stop is just outside the hotel!!) and ur in the center of Lloret!, which has a wide selection of shops, cafes, bars and clubs! (My favourite was Moby's!)

Me and my family went Semptember 2000 and I would recommend anyone to go and stay there. We had a great time and I'm looking forward to go again!

Travelled to this hotel with Discount Holidays June 2002.

Found it to be friendly and clean. The reception area is rather small, however, it and the rooms are very well kept. The rooms are well appointed and the maid service is good, sheets are changed 3/4 times each week.

The restaurant is lovely and the meals are well prepared and usually hot. The all inclusive snacks are run of the mill burgers chips hotdogs etc, there is a microwave for reheating.

The barmen had an irritating habit of ringing a large bell each time they received a tip. Their are 2 pool areas, one is unsuitable for anyone with a wheelchair due to a flight of 4/5 steps.

The hotel overall is wheelchair friendly apart from the upper pool area hope this helps other chair users. The hotel is in the Fennals area of Lloret de Mar and it is only a ten minute walk into Lloret proper or there is a 15 minute bus service with a flat rate of 75p to any area of Lloret , Oh and bus drivers were only too keen to help the chair onto their buses which is made easier as the buses are fitted with hydraulic ramps thus letting me travel like others.

Hope this helps other chair users.

There is a small sandy beach 50 yards from the Royal Beach with a promenade which made for a pleasant walk and a relaxing place to sunbathe. The sand is of the course gritty type that doesn't get everywhere.

We stayed at this hotel in May 2002.Hotel was very clean but food was diabolical what was supposed to be chips was more like matchsticks they hurt your gums trying to eat them most of the time food was cold not a very good selection.Overun with uncontrollable children and noisy teenagers with parents that dont seem to give any consideration to any other holidaymakers as long as they were enjoying themselves at the bar.Adult bar was a joke uncomfortable furniture freezing cold which would be nice in summer but you dont expect to sit there with your coat on.Main bar was far too noisy with children running wild and the music was far to loud.Staff were very ignorant. Its the only hotel we have ever stayed in where the balcony furniture only consisted of two chairs and no table. In all a very noisy hotel with staff and security doing nothing to control it.Definately would not go back there again not even if they gave me a free holiday.
