| said: Centrale is situated on Riva Del Garda's main square, Piazza 111 Novembre, facing Lake Garda, with the cliffs of Monte Rocchetta on one side. The Ferry stops and TO coach pick up point are within a very short walking distance, very good location.
We paid £80 extra for a Lake view room, which was worth it because the views were stunning. The room was quite spacious for a 3 star hotel and the bathroom was also spacious. Our towels were changed everyday and bedsheets every other day. The standard of cleanliness is very high.
Italian Getawys gave us a free upgrade to half board but on arrival we decided to upgrade to dinner a la carte because the set 3 course dinner was served 7-8pm, served in the breakfast room at the back of the hotel and the choice for the main course as limited and had to be ordered the night before. Our own upgrade meant we had 8 Euros each deducted from our dinner bill and a free half bottle of wine per person if the total dinner bill came to 20 Euros or above per person. The food was good and there was a wide choice of dishes, we liked the mixed grilled fish best. Because the portions are so large we only eat one course with the addition of salads. We also had the choice of eating in indoor or outdoor terrace.
Breakfast was a cold buffet served 7-9am with a wide choice, everything tasted fresh especially the ham, chesse, bread rolls and croissants.
No entertainment is provided but we were treated to a display by the local fire brigade on the Sqaure on Saturday evening, in high season street entertainers, jugglers and musicans perform on the Square.
The staff are reserved, some a bit stand offish and not particularly forthcoming with information about Riva or sightseeing.
It may be good to note that the air con is switch off on 1st September, this wasn't a problem for us as the weather was on the chilly side the week we were there, but could be a problem if the hot weather continues through September.
We had a good time and enjoyed our stay a Centrale and would stay there again if we return to Lake Garda.
