Recently stayed at the Bluebay Palace for our honeymoon which proved to be a very nice hotel.
The rooms are extremely luxurious, huge comfy bed, dressing table, chair and table, 2 double wardrobes with drawers, tv, lamps, mini bar, good size balcony, huge bathroom with his and her sinks, bidet, hairdryer etc etc) As we were on our honeymoon, the hotel had champagne in our room on arrival, we also got a complimentary massage each and breakfast in bed on the day of our choice. It was also my birthday while we were out there and once again the hotel put another bottle of champagne in the room along with a basket of fruit and a birthday card - was a really nice touch.
The whole hotel is extremely clean, all of the staff work very hard from morning to night. The restaurant food was of a reasonable standard, there was always something to eat even for fussy eaters although we did find that in our 7 day stay there were a few meals repeated.
The pool area opens at 9am and yes you do have people queing so that they can get their favourite spot around the pool and as this hotel has quite a few repeat guests they can be a bit territorial if you go to take "their" space. You will probably find that most of the sunbeds are taken by 10:30 at the latest which can be a bit annoying when people have reserved the beds but arent using them. There is 3 pools, the medium sized one also has a jucuzzi in it and all of them are very cold but extremely refreshing. On arrival you will get a pool towel token which you exchange for pool towels and you can change your towels as often as you like.
There is a pool side restaurant and the food is absolutley gorgeous here and you always get service with a smile. There is also a small gym that has some weights and spin bikes in and there is spa/beauty area.
Not much happens during the day at the Bluebay, I think they have an entertainment team but it is so low key that it isn't really obvious that it exists. They do have night-time entertainment in the entertainment bar but we never actually went to it so can't really comment on the quality.
On the whole we had a relaxing week which is what we thought we would want but on reflection we probably should have chosen a hotel with a bit more life in it as it did seem to lack a bit of atmosphere but if you want a low-key quiet hotel then this would be an ideal choice for you, Almost forget, if you dont want to take loads of euros with you and you are planning to spend most of your time at the hotel then you can charge all of your food and drink to your room and just pay the bill at the end.

This was our 3rd time at this hotel and it is still as good as we remembered. We went B&B last time which we preferred, but the food is adaquate if not a little reptative.

The hotel is very clean and you always see cleaners around.

The pool is very good and slightly sheltered from the high winds you sometimes get. No need to reserve beds, although there were people reserving beds and not turning up until after lunch. Towels provided.

Staff are very friendly and the maids do a great job in the rooms.

Location is great - its about a 5 minute walk from all the bars, restuarnts and shops on the main street.

Cant cooment on teh evening entertainment we never went in.

It is looking a little dated now but I would throughly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a nice hotel for a reasonable price.

What a lovely hotel. The rooms are large with lovely views of either the sea or pool area. The rooms are cleaned meticulously every day with clean fresh towels in the bathroom
There is a huge choice of food on offer both at breakfast and evening meal. The table service by the helpful restaurant staff is first class.
The small entertainment bar reflects the standard of show to be presented. The average show lasted approximately 1 hour and was generally finished by 10:30. Again, the bar staff were superb always smiling and offering excellent service.
The hotel, both inside and out around the pool, is a green oasis. There are plenty of sun beds with mattresses to go round, so no need to be up early to book a space. Poolside towels are available so dont dirty your own.
The hotel is well located for both the beach and the town. The name change is unfortunate as Atlantis Palace sounds more appealing
We will return to Corralejo and will definitely stay at ths marvellous hotel. Make sure you do.

I booked this hotel after reading all the reviews about it and was not disappointed. The rooms were very big and spacious and very very clean. The food was fantastic, so much variety, and the staff were friendly and helpful.Location was great just a short stroll and you were at the main street.
Pool area was very nice, plenty of sunbeds with mattresses and you also were given pool towels every day..
I just wish this hotel was in a resort with alot more going on, and i would go back again and again....

This is the second time we have visited this lovely hotel and it was just as good as the first time. The room was really comfortable and nicely decorated with plenty of storage space (although the beds were a little hard) and the bathroom was huge. The rooms were spotless with clean towels every day and little extras such as heart shaped chocolates on Valentines Day.

The food was really good, especially the breakfasts. There was so much variety that we were spoilt for choice.

The location was great, 2 minutes from the beach and only a few minutes stroll to the main street where there were plenty of shops and bars.

The staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful especially the restaurant waiter who was very quick to bring us our drinks.

The pool area is lovely, fairly quiet with plenty of sunbeds. We never had a problem getting a sunbed even in the afternoon and there was no problem with people putting towels on to reserve beds. There were also free mattresses and towels for the sunbeds.

The only negative point about this hotel is the lack of decent entertainment. The bar has nightly entertainment but what we saw was not really very good and when the acts were finished (about 10'ish) everybody seemed to leave the bar so it was dead after that.

However we've been to this hotel twice now and would definitely go again. We would recommend it to anyone who likes a bit of luxury and a chilled out holiday.

After reading the reports on this site I was looking forward to arriving at the Atlantis Palace, and I was not disappointed. It is a lovely hotel. Very clean.

A varied choice of food so that there was always something we liked.

Great location - couple of minutes from the beach and short walk to bars etc.

The staff were always polite and pleasant. We had a couple of problems with our room - shower broke, sink leaked. We reported them and they were dealt with extremely quickly.

Our room overlooked the tennis courts and we were troubled early evening with a dog constantly barking from a neighbouring house. We did request a pool view on booking but were told on arrival that none were available as hotel was very busy.

Evening entertainment was shocking except on one night.

We arrived 9pm and were met with a welcome smile after being shown to our room which was spotless. We tucked into the cold supper and bottle of wine the hotel had left for us.

Next morning we went to breakfast and found lots of choice which was what we had for 2wks you could not fault any of the food.

The location of the hotel is excellent 2min walk to the lovely beach which was clean and 5min walk to local bars and restaurants.

The hotel staff were lovely always ready with a smile. We only saw a few shows at the hotel but what we saw was very good.

It was my birthday while we were there and when we returned to our room in the afternoon there was a bottle of champagne on ice from the hotel which was a lovely suprise.

We would certainly return to this hotel.

We chose this hotel after reading reports on this website and we weren't disappointed.

The hotel was spotless; the food plentiful and varied;set in a quiet area - from our room. On the second floor at the front of the hotel, we couldn't even hear cars going by and there was virtually no noise from aeroplanes as we were on the north of the island.

Although the staff spoke excellent English we always spoke in Spanish.

There was a mixture of all ages and, although mostly English guests, Irish and German accents could be heard.

For those unable to leave their lap tops at home the whole of the hotel is a Wi Fi hot spot so you can surf the Net for free, but if you have to use an old fashioned monitor and keyboard it is cheaper to use one of the Internet cafes nearby.

We chose to take the full day Grand Tour which proved very informatve and enjoyable. This included a stop at a local craft centre; a goats' farm; the oldest church in the Canaries; a living museum looking at the the original inhabitants way of life and an aloe vera farm. (Beware of the chap offering neck massages if you have sensitive skin)

This is our third visit to this lovely Hotel.

It has a great location right in the centre of Corralejo with the beach just across the road.

Our room was spacious and very clean.

The food was of a high standard with plenty of choice.

The hotel staff were quite friendly on the whole.

Didn't see much of the entertainment as we went out most nights.

This is the place to go if you want a relaxing holiday in a quiet location but with amenties nearby. A nice four star Hotel.

We spent two lovely weeks at Atlantis Palace Hotel, and booked the holiday based on the accurate reviews here.
The positive point about the Hotel are as
follows, it was half term with many children at the Hotel, but it was still very relaxing and calm around the pool area and in the dinning room.

Food indeed was very varied and of good quality, and service in all areas were exellent, we didn't feel the need to dine out.

Through out the holiday we felt relaxed. We have stayed in many similar hotels but this one did have the edge in all areas.

Very few negative point and are only our personal opinion. Make sure you use the safe in the room and put all your valuables in, the maid had a habit of leaving the patio doors to the veranda open leaving easy access to others to enter from nearby rooms, we were on the third floor.

In event of the sun not shining, there would be very little to do at the Hotel or the resort.

We chose to stay at the Hotel Atlantis Palace after reading other reviews on the Holiday Truth website and we were not disappointed.

The hotel is really well located just 5 minutes stroll down to the beach and ten minutes to the main town centre. Both the interior and exterior of the hotel are immaculate and well maintained.

The reception, pool and garden areas are especially lovely. We stayed in a standard double room which was spacious and comfortable with a nice balcony. The bathroom was spotless and had his/her sinks which was a great facility as was the hairdryer.

Breakfast and dinner were an experience! So much choice even for a vegan! The vegie / meat dishes are well labelled, the food was always fresh and the menu changed daily.

There was even champagne on offer at breakfast though we didn't partake. On our last day we had to check out of our room at 12noon but this was not a problem as the bell boy locked our luggage away securely and we sat by the pool enjoying our last afternoon in the sun.

The hotel offers a courtesy changing room well equipped with male and female showers, toilets and changing rooms including hairdryers. This is located in a quiet corner of the hotel behind the gym... I'm not sure you would know it's there unless you asked.

Whilst on holiday we had a nosey around other 4 star hotels and felt that the Atlantis Palace was by far the best and could even pass as a 5 star in comparison.

In fact, some of the 5 star hotels were poorly located so when we return to Corralejo in the future we will only stay at the Atlantis Palace.

Myself, husband and son travelled with my parents to this hotel in June 2006.

We had booked a Superior Suite as arrival day was my birthday and we'd had to cancel our holiday to Egypt which was costing more money, so we bulked up the cost at the Atlantis palace. It was well worth the money.

We arrived early afternoon and after a record check in the bell boy (Yasser) took us to our suite. It was fabulous. Although it didn't have a pool view it overlooked a nice garden and was very quiet. There was a bucket of ice with a bottle champagne in it, a huge basket of fruit and a half bottle of red wine waiting for us. The suite was huge, it even had a hall way! For 3 it was way too big but it was a treat. The maid changed our towels twice a day, bedding everyday and folded our bed covers down at night and left chocolates on our pillows. The room was spotless and they even folded our clothes and nightwear - really was a treat for me being a busy mum at home.

On our 3rd day we arrived at the room to find water dripping through our bedroom ceiling. After a call to reception a maintenance worker arrived in 15 minutes and took control. It was a burst pipe and we had to be moved to another suite. This one wasn't as good only because it over looked the tennis courts and local residents houses and a dog barked consistently between 11 - 12pm and 5.30 - 7.30 am. Hmmmm. BUT i expect the resident was there before the hotel! Anyway, the changeover was very quick, we had a bell boy help us move and we got another big basket of fruit to say sorry.

The hotel was an absolute joy to stay in. The maids were cleaning 24/7 and were very friendly. They spoke to you first, even in their own language if they didn’t know yours which I say is fair play. They worked very hard and didn't seem to stop.

The pool was open from 9am but beware the oldies queue to get the best spots as although the palm trees and vegetation are lovely they do block the sun at some time during the day depending where you sit. The red card system was not in operation whilst we stayed. Saying that we didn't fail to get a sun bed and you can change your pool towels daily once you hand in the card you are given at reception on check in. Anyway, it wouldn't look half as nice if they removed the beautiful trees just to aid sun bathing! The pools are immaculate but the big one is quite cold at first but once you're in its fine!

The foods were a bit hit and miss. The choice was immense as they try and cater for most nationalities; even down to mashed potato which i thought was above and beyond the call of duty, but sometimes it was a mix too far. Saying that I doubt you would fail to find 3 courses to satisfy you. The desserts were to die for and the waiting staff excellent. Keep a look out for Ricardo, he was lovely with children and made a point of including my son at all mealtimes, even to the point of giving him the bill for drinks and standing waiting for payment pretending that Jack was the big man of the table. Coffee at breakfast is divine and on tap if your jug runs out from the food bar that serves breakfast cereals and hot and cold milk. There is a big collection of herbal teas too if that is your preference.

The evening entertainments isn’t that good but look out for a couple who live on the Island who come in as guests and dance. They are obviously 'come dancing' experts and are a regular feature even though they are not billed as entertainment- they just dance to the music played. If you spot them you will know what I mean about amusing! Drinks were not that expensive either but we found that when the world cup matches were on for England (wont say anymore on that) the Dunas Caleta club nearby did happy hour between 5 & 6 pm with a BOGOFF offer. We had a fab time!

The water park (BAKU) is expensive but well funny and you will have a fun day out. Next to that is the market which is on Mondays and Fridays and do brilliant replica sunglasses - lookie lookie. Also there are very good designer belts (imitation of course but you wouldn't know) and pottery.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and the Atlantis Palace made it being our base. We hired a car too and toured the Island which was fab. We also went to the sister hotel the Bahia Real which was horrendous. OK the furniture was Second to none but the atmosphere was shocking. Check it out - it’s worth a visit just to see what a nice atmosphere you get at the Atlantis Palace. The Bahia Real is dead with the odd uncommunicative German - the entertainment room was locked at 10pm. Maybe they were all at their boats moored in Correlejo harbour. Check it out and see what you think. You have to dodge the cock roaches though if you intend on walking there!

The Atlantis Palace is a fabulous first class place to stay. Having done Thomson Platinum holidays this came well above those and it's only rated as a 4 star. An insult to Atlantis group me thinks. If you are going there you will have a top notch stay but find your own entertainment if it doesn't agree with you after the first couple of nights. I had a lump in my throat as the coach took us to the airport.

Enjoy.

Upon arrival at the hotel the reception area looked great. My wife had booked 2 rooms, 1 for husband and wife and 1 family room for our 16, 14 and 9 year old. When booking in we were told that we hadn't got a double bed in our room but would have to push single beds together, we booked the holiday over 12 months prior to arrival. Eventually our needs were met and the rooms were very good and clean.

The food is good but repetitive the restaurant is very clean and the staff are second to none. We did have an incident on the last night with some uncooked chicken, so be aware.

If you want entertainment on your holiday this is not the hotel to visit. There is no entertainment during the day around the pool and the evening entertainment is very poor finishing around 10.30pm.

We booked to go on an excursion to Oasis Park which was fantastic. The water park is good but very safety cautious.

Overall its not bad but if you have been to good hotels over the world you could be a bit disappointed at the 4 star rating.

Me and my husband wanted a relaxing but centralised holiday resort and thats exactly what this holiday was.

The hotel was gorgeous. We arrived and were quickly checked in. we had booked for the Junior Suite and its definately worth the upgrade price (£140 per week). The room was huge with a seperate living room. We had a large bed and twin sinks in the bathroom. The whole room was spotless. It could not have been cleaner. View from Balcony was of pool area and was a lovely setting just to sit out on in the afternoon.

Food got better and better each night. They have a sort of theme each night such as italian, spanish or chinese. Chinese was definately the best night with spring rolls and prawn crackers.

Staff were all pleasant and always there to help you with anything.
Entertainment was good most of the time particulary the magician.

We would definately visit this hotel again. After a week we feel totally relaxed. This hotel really should be a 5 star though its just perfect.

If you have booked to go here your in for a treat!!!!

Stayed in the Atlantis princess for the first and it won't be the last. Best 4 star ever and better than some of the 5 stars we have used.

Food a highlight as is the room size but our outlook wasn't great but the excellent desk staff suggested we give room preferences when next booking and we will.

Nice touch was bottle of bubbly delivered to our room on +
my wifes birthday. All in all first class.

We have stayed at this hotel 4 times now and feel spoilt by it. It is in a very good location, close enough to the town, bars and restaurants but far enough away not to be kept awake by noise.

The rooms are the best I've seen and have a good attention to detail, such as the balcony chairs are better than average and recline. The rooms and whole hotel is spotless and maids are constantly cleaning. Linen and towels changed daily. The bed is huge and I can lie across it sideways (I'm 5ft 4).

The poolside is lovely and relaxing. I prefer not to have entertainment around the pool and not to listen to other people's stereo. You can always find a sunlounger (with padded cushion) and the hotel provides pool towels which can be changed daily. The poolside bar is always on hand for a snack and a beer!

The restaurant is large and tables are always set for breakfast or evening meal. The waiting staff change the table cloths when you leave the table so no mess from the previous occupants. There is plenty of choice for breakfast, with Champagne, smoked salmon and Chefs preparing eggs, omelettes etc. Evening meal can get slightly repetitive but again the Chefs are cooking steaks, fish (king prawns are lovely), roasts. The soups and salads are delicious and the desserts are scrummy.

I can't comment on the evening entertainment as we preferred to go out but there are shows on every night. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, (particularly for couples). The staff are friendly and helpful and accommodate your requests.

We arrived at the hotel in the taxi and it took our breath away. The hotel is beautiful qand I never expected such luxury. Every part of the holiday was fantastic and the staff so helpful. The one problem for me with two children is that the evening meal was not available till 6.30 which was really late for my 5 year old...she was starving!
The kids loved the disco and a few of the later shows were good some not. If I won the lottery I would love to live there!

The hotel was light and airy with an impressive foyer encompassing a bar and comfortable lounge area.

There were lots of large plants and fountains around which gave it a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The staff were friendly and welcoming as was the young man dressed in pantaloons who took our cases to our room on the second floor.

There was a welcome note with a half bottle of wine on the table, a nice touch as was the towel swan in the bathroom which boasted his & hers sinks. Our good sized quiet very private balcony overlooked a side road and got the sun in the afternoon.

It was close to a small beach and the main street and about twenty minutes down to the end of the pretty harbour.I don't think many rooms had a sea view but we took some lovely photos from the third floor through the arched windows.

The food was excellent though could be a little cold at times. The waiters were friendly bar one who we confused by smiling sweetly every time we saw him.Thought it might rub off but it didn't!!

The hotel was spotless - have never seen so many cleaners! The rooms were cleaned daily, linen changed regularly and towels replaced if left on the bathroom floor.

There was a large concert hall next to the dining room with nightly entertainment which was good the couple of times we went.We didn't use the swimming pools or gym but they looked really nice and there was plenty of room for everyone.

We would certainly return to this hotel and would recommend it to anyone as it was very child friendly and would suit any age group - the youngsters could go into Corralejo for more nightlife.

Hi

Ian and Jean aged 58 from Sheffield

Just returned from the Atlantis Palace,we have stayed in many 4 star hotels all over the world but this is the best.

From the minute you arrive, your cases are taken to your room and the reception staff all speak perfect english so there is on problems checking in to the hotel.

We were told by a friend to ask when booking, for a 3rd floor room that gets the afternoon sun, we arrived at 5pm and on reaching our balcony the sun was red hot and we sat out till it set at 6-30pm wonderful.

You are given two cards for your room you need this to set up your saftey box cost 1-80 euro per day, you have a nice bottle of red wine waiting in your room.

The fridge as lots of drinks inside but we bought ours from the s/markets and put them in the fridge without problems.

The dining area is downstairs beside the pool area, we stayed 11 nights and never waited once for a table for b/fast or e/meals ect, the standard of food was first class.

Breakfasts were hot food bacon sausage eggs beans etc , and continental plus smoked salmon champagne and bucks fiss every day.

Evening meals various roasts and grilled fish every night, plus lots of other choices from chilli's curries pasta's chinese and indian meals, plenty of veggie stuff but did not try.

Cold Buffet very large choice meats fish mussels prawns etc plus choice of two soups each night.
Lots of sweets for the ladies and around 6 types of cheese and grapes for the boys.

You can book all drinks to your room or pay on the night.
Bars the lounge/ reception bar area is huge great for a coffee to unwind or a couple of nightcaps closes at 12 o'clock so make sure you order double if staying late plenty of time to drink up, price 3 euro a pint.

Entertainment Bar opens at 8pm kids mini disco most nights but only 8-30 till 9pm, this is followed by a quiz or bingo.

The main show starts at 9-30pm with either tribute groups dance troops singers acrobats etc, most being very good but remember they have to find turns to suit all types of people, we enjoyed most nights.

Pool area great never once waited for a chair, on arrival you are given a card for free towels(yellow) take this to the room below the pool bar, the attentant sometimes locks up whilst taking dirty towels away so just wait 5 mins for him coming back.

You can change them every day if you wish but on your last day take them back and retreve you card as you will be asked for it on leaving.

Outside the hotel turn right then left to the beach 5mins,or turn left bars 3mins away lots of fun type pubs, market up the hill 20 mins very limited things lots of junk etc.

The resort was very quiet, so if looking for disco nights then try another resort.

The bars around the harbour are great all do food and the sunsets are ace.

Plenty of tours boat rides etc, we went on the motor trikes 4 hour trip over sand dunes dust roads down the beach stopped for drinks at a hillside bar, all for 60 euro's "for two people" great value.

This can be booked at the winter gardens pub 10 mins fronm hotel very nice at night if you just wish a quiet drink and a laugh with june and alan your hosts, or you can book direct up the hill near the water park 20 mins walk ( not Steep)

Well to end yes first class hotel in all area's are we going again ? you bet we are in the near future.
hope you have a great time

This hotel is amazing - definetely the best I have ever stayed in. We transfered here half way through our week after staying in a horrible appartment hotel on the other side of town.

From the moment you walk in you feel relaxed - the rooms are beautifully clean, we were on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool area. The bathroom was lovely - twin sinks with a swan made out of a towel between them! The private balcony was also lovely, it was great to sit out there in the early evening before dinner.

The food was great - for 2 fussy eaters, there was a huge choice and the waiters were lovely. We never had to wait for a table and were never rushed to leave as you are in some places!

The pool area was also lovely, lots of palm trees and flowers meant there was always birds singing and we both felt so relaxed - it felt a million miles away from the busy streets!

I can't fault this hotel at all, we will definitely be returning as soon as possible and would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a relaxing break.

Could not fault the hotel in any category. Would of been nice to have a few more english speaking channels on the tv whilst getting ready but apart from that 10 out of 10 for me!!!

I am actually thinking of buying a place out there so im booking the hotel again to go out in a few months time. Had such a relaxing time the hotel is peaceful where you can enjoy a decent nights sleep.

Hotel was wonderful and I have recommended many people to try it out.
Kind Regards Kirsty-Anne Hamilton

We returned to the Atlantis Palace after staying there in January this year, this is probably the first time we have returned to a hotel before.

The Atlantis Palace is a class hotel and we were not dissapointed on our second visit,we are now thinking of booking again for a third visit.

There is no doubt that the hotel is spotlessly clean, staff are cleaning from dawn to dusk.

My only whinge would be the food, not that there was much wrong with it but the restaurant was really like a canteen,we would much have prefered to go bed and breakfast enabling us to try the excellent restaurants in town.

We were rather envious of other people in the resort visiting the restaurants in town,in fact half way through the holiday we decided to join them and sample the restaurants ourselves, deserting the Atlantis Palace "canteen", after all part of your holiday is the dining out experience.

The location of the hotel is excellent, just 10 minutes from a not to noisy resort centre.

The staff as usual were first class, really friendly and had a good rapport with the customers.

We did not try the entertainment, much preferring to walk into the resort, though we did call in the night club on our return to have a laugh and joke with this brilliant staff.

All in all we are definately returning later next year for a third visit, though we shall only be taking breakfast ( which is excellent) next time.

We had used "Holiday-Truth" to review the hotel before we booked and found it very useful.

The hotel has been built to a very high standard and both the rooms and the public areas were spotlessly clean. The hotel is in a horse-shoe shape with the inner rooms overlooking the pool and the outer room looking to surrounding properties. We had one of the latter rooms and though the view was not spectacular the balcony was very pleasant and secluded.

The food was excellent, lots of choice each night of both hot and cold meat and fish. The salad bar was particularly good. The choice for breakfast was also excellent with enough to suit every taste.

The staff were friendly and attentive with the exception of a couple of waiters who very though busy were not always helpful. I have still given this 5 Stars as there were lots of very friendly waiters. The bar and reception staff were excellent.

The entertainment in the hotel was mixed from an excellent Four Tops tribute group to a very bad magician but there was something on every night and on the Sunday night there was an excellent atmosphere in a very packed bar.

We visited in September but had no problem getting either sunbeds or parasols whatever time we arrived at the pool.

We also found its location to be very good, a couple of minutes from the beach or the main shopping street and about 15 minutes from the harbour.

My wife and I stayed at the Atlantis Palace in August this year for two weeks, excellent hotel ,great food, and dinner served until 10pm during peak season.

Hotel staff very helpful, bar manager, Fernando is very good,(looks like Dean Martin.) We look forward to returning again for a November break next year.

You will also recieve a warm welcome at the Winter Garden pub in town English owned,a very quiet bar if you want a good English beer, shipped out from England, and to be able to have a conversation in peaceful surroundings, thanks for a great holiday.

We found the hotel to be very clean and the rooms spacious with a lovely bathroom .

Two sinks for a family of 4 is a great idea! The staff were very polite and helpful although the odd one or two in the restaurant let the side down!

The food was the best we have had on holiday as we usually get bored by the end of week one. There was smoked salmon and champagne most mornings and a good selection of seafoods, and meats available at night. We are adventurous eaters but the children are not and every night we all found something we liked. We ate out on 2 nights but were always happy to get back to the ease and comfort of the hotel restaurant.

The hotel is in a quiet spot close to the main town which was great because we could walk right down to the harbour at night and also shop for most things when we needed to.

The entertainment we saw was good and the kids disco looked good too.We simply decided if we fancied the show each night and if not we went into town. Most days we sat by the pool. You cant reserve a lounger before 9am which was good but there was a bit of a rush for sunbeds then!

The beach was lovely and we had a couple of nice days there and also visited the water park which was a great day out and within walking distance of the hotel.

I would definitely go back and recommend this hotel to anyone.

The Altantis Palace Hotel was a super 4* hotel.

Room -:

We had a family room overlooking the outside dining area, it was very quiet and peaceful. The rooms were spotless, the maids cleaned the rooms everyday and mopped the floors too. Clean bathroom towels everyday if required.

Restuarant/Food -:

I agree with other reports, we were there for 10 nights and did find the breakfasts/dinners a bit repetative and boring, we ended up eating out quite a few times. When using the restuarant we always tried to sit in the outside area, it was much quieter and nicer. We tried Chinese (okay), the Mexican in the centre (didn't like - service was appalling) and the Italian on the corner at the roundabout (it was nice - try the starter garlic prawns - yum). Waikiki for cocktails, they made my daughter her own alcohol free cocktail complete with sparkler. We had lunch there too, the food was good.

Pool Area -:

Unfortunately you had to be down at the pool area just after 9am to lay your towels out on the sunbeds. If you do not have children and you're not fussed at being right by the poolside (I liked to be by the pool to watch my daughter in the water) then you should be able to find a bed/s later on in the day. But don't expect to get a bed cushion, I even saw a few people taking these up to their rooms with them!! And they were British!!
Entertainment / Kids Club -:
We didn't visit, we had dinner then went for a walk/drink in the evenings. We ended up in the bar at the end of the road most nights.

Excursions -:

We did go to the Water Park, it was okay. Beware - children are not allowed to wear t-shirts on the slides. They (and you) will need lots of suncream, you are higher up in the waterpark, and the breeze makes it feel much cooler. I can understand this is probably due to safety reasons but we were in Disney Water Parks last year and you could wear them there.
We also went on the Los Lobos Snorkelling, booked via hotel reception. It was brilliant, my daughter loved it. I'm not a good swimmer and I'm a bit afraid of deep water, but the wetsuits make you float, and the instuctor was very good.

Beaches -:

Be careful if you go bare foot - I noticed some broken glass on the beach quite a few times.

We would go back again, but just for a week next time. And we would only stay at Atlantis Palace.

We have just returned and had a fairly enjoyable stay at the Atlantis Palace. We had read previous reports on this websites and perhaps had slightly too high expectations.

The hotel itself definately had the "wow" factor upon entry to the reception area. It really was fab!

Unfortunately our room looked onto the back of the hotel and right on to a building site which was noisy through the day if you had your balcony doors open. The rooms were also nice and very well kept. The maids were outstanding and always kept the room spotless. Be careful if you leave items of clothes in the bathroom as all the floors are bleached. My husband ended up with bleach splats up his jeans where the maid had been a bit too adventurous with the bleach! The pool area was also very nice.

It seems everything in the hotel is aimed to look nice and is not at all practical. The pool side area is very dangerous and a number of children occured injuries while walking along the side of the pool. As soon as it gets wet it is very slippy indeed so if you are traveling with children be very careful. There is hardly any non-slip-mats around. One man needed 8 stiches in his head after falling at the pool side!

Be prepared to get up early to claim sunbeds around the pool area. Even though reserving sunbeds is not supposed to be allowed, everyone still does it. The kids club area is also a fantastic respite from the sun. The hotel kids club staff were brilliant with a mini disco 5 nights a week and mini club everyday.

After reading other reports on this website about the food in the reasaurant I was expecting a wide variety to choose from. How wrong was I! The breakfast was the same every single day. Frankfurters, german streaky bacon, salad and chips! They did however cook fried eggs fresh every morning to your liking but it was a bit off putting when you saw the chef who was cooking the eggs, cooking raw chicken on the same hot plate at the same time as the eggs! Evening meal was also very boring. Again everything served with chips and the same pasta and tomato sauce. They did vary the meat but nothing was exciting.

All in all very dull at meal times. So much so - we ate out a lot of the time!!

We have just returned back from a weeks stay at the Atlantis Palace, and I must say I was a little disappointed. The location was fantastic, close enough for when you wanted the night life, but far enough away for when you didn't. Very close to the waterpark (which was not very good) and was a stones throw away from Waikiki Beach.

We stayed here on a half board basis, and although the food looked fantastic, we found ourselves eating chips, garlic mayonnaise and bread rolls for dinner as there was not a great deal to choose from. Breakfast however was OK, but nothing too special either (apart from the bucks fizz!!)

I travelled with a 15yr old, and we were expecting some daytime entertainment, but nothing!, there were notices all around the pool area for no inflatables, no ball games, and the hotel staff were really strict on anyone "breaking" the rules, which I thought was unreasonable. A few small children were asked to get out of the pool for wearing armbands in the deeper pool!.

On arrival we were given a ticket for pool towels. As and when you wanted a new towel for by the pool, just hand in your old one/ticket and they will give new ones.

The room was excellent, I have never seen a double bed so huge in my whole entire life!! The maids did a fantastic job every day, was always clean, they even did the windows and floors every day!!

I must add also that there is a shop in the hotel, but the do not sell drinks/snacks, you have to walk about 250meters for a bottle of water!

I would definately recommend going up to the Market, but be prepared to haggle, and watch your bags, as I found mine was being eyed up the whole time! I got loads of great bargains though!

I would consider staying here again, but I would go in peak season and on a self catering basis.

Hope this helps, and enjoy your holiday!

This hotel was a pleasure to stay in. From the time we arrived (a little delayed) we were made to feel welcome.

As the restaurant was closed they had laid out cold meats, bread and fresh fruit in our room. The cot we requested was already in the room which makes a change as people who have travelled with babies will know!

The meals in the restaurant were of a very high standard and different choices every night.

The kids club rep, Jesus, was a star. My daughter thought he was the bees knees! They had a mini disco most nights at 8pm which was for an hour and was great for the little ones.

Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone, the rooms were spotless and the service was great.

keep up the good work.

On arrival, the Atlantis Palace appeared quite insignificant from the outside, however, once you step through the doors you realise that this is a quality hotel. The reception area is vast and the receptionists are efficient and fluent in many languages.

Our room was not ready on arrival (13.15) and we were given a voucher for free drinks whilst we waited.
The room was on the first floor, overlooking the pool, it was large and made to feel more spacious by the high ceilings. A bottle of wine had been left as a welcome gift on arrival. Children (14 & 10) had a pull out bed each, these were very comfortable and sturdy enough for adults to sleep on.

The room was equipped with a TV (Sky News, Sky Sport & CNN in English), a fully stocked mini bar, air conditioning, safety deposit box and even a mosquito plug-in! Mosquitos were a problem and all the family got bitten. Maids were unobtrusive and the room was cleaned thoroughly each day.

The restaurant was a pleasure. Again, staff very pleasant and efficient. The food is the best we have experienced in a hotel. Show cooking at both breakfast and dinner. A huge variety of food available and always something for everyone.

Hotel is situated just a very short stroll from the main road, which provides a host of shops, bars, etc. The beach is also a very short stroll. The sand dunes can be reached by the free bus which is provided by the hotel.

We hired a jeep for 2 days and visited Cotillo (breathtaking views), sand dunes, and the water park.

The pool area consists of 2 pools (one heated), and a children's splash pool - also heated. Pool towels are available and mattresses are provided for the sunbeds. Sunbeds were plentiful and it was a joy not to have to run the gauntlet of placing towels each morning. The swimming pool area opens at 9am and there is plenty of space for everyone. The pool bar / grill, serves delicious lunches (try the fish of the day), snacks and ice creams, prices are approx 50c more than you would pay in the town.

Daytime animation was almost non existent. However, our teenage son was happy to play pool and swim/sunbathe during the day, so this didn't present any difficulties for us, but may pose a problem for families with older children.

Evening entertainment was provided by different acts each night. Can't really comment as we tended to go out in the evenings.

This is definitely a hotel I would recommend to anyone without hesitation. Many people commented to us that the Atlantis Palace is known as the best hotel on the island - and I agree!

This hotel is truly brilliant, I would recommend it to anyone!! We had a lovely 7 nights there.

The rooms were very clean and spacious, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Great swimming pool for kids and a brilliant play area with a sand pit - what else could a parent ask for???

You could hire a number of things at their reception from kettles to heaters by putting down a small deposit. We hired a car from reception for 2 days which was really hassle free.

The restaurant served a very tasty breakfast, however, I found the evening meal was a little bit repetitive. Being a veggie there were not enough choices of dishes except for chips and pasta!!! Rather disappointing for a 4 star hotel. My daughter (4 year old) and I usually filled up on salad and bread.

They had a mini disco in the evening for about 15 minutes which a lot of the guests thought was far too short. We didn't stay up for the rest of the entertainment as our daughter was shattered after the disco!!!!

All in all I would say I would definitely come back to the Atlantis Palace again and would recommend it to parents with small children!!

The hotel Atlantis palace is one of the best hotels we have stayed in; in fact we have booked again for a week in September.

The rooms are spotlessly clean and any requests are immediately dealt with.
The staff, particularly the bar staff are exceptional, Marina the girl behind the bar springs to mind, she was brilliant and always had time to talk and laugh with the customers as did all the staff.

The restaurant is well divided i.e. Non smoking and smoking, the food is good and plentiful and well prepared.

The location of the hotel is just what we wanted in easy reach of the main street and bars, but why go out when you have brilliant staff like this, the hotel should give them all a pay rise.

Just returned from two weeks which we booked largely on the positive comments made about this hotel on this site.

Firstly we endorse all that has been said about the hotel building, rooms and pool area which were all excellent and cleaned to the highest levels.

We would also mention the excellent lifts which were well placed for easy access where ever you were headed.

However the food was unacceptable for a 4 star status.
This was not only our opinion, others we met were eating down town after a few days. I and my wife have never been ill in the seven years we have been taking winter holidays in the Canaries but we were here.

The words never mind the quality, feel the width come to mind. If you like your fodder repetitive and piled up high but don't mind if it’s cold and largely tasteless this is the hotel for you.

However I feel that most of the problems in the restaurant and kitchens were lack of supervision. At no time did we see the Chef or any manager in that area. In the Jandia Club Princess last year the entire managerial hotel staff Manager, Departmental managers, Chef etc were all presented to guests every Monday evening with the instruction to contact them with any problems. The Chef was always walking about the dining room poking his nose into everything, likewise two previous years in succession that we stayed at the Taurito Princess Grand Canaria the same, Chef under Chefs and waiters supervisors always present result largely perfect food, perfect service.

Entertainment here was minimal. No piano bar, except there was a piano in the lounge bar area but no player, instead a notice forbidding anyone to play it! In fact there were rather too many forbidding notices throughout for our tastes. No Sky TV room. Why I hear some of you saying do you want sat TV. On holiday! Well for me to watch the footy and cricket and my wife the Aussie open tennis. Remember it gets dark in Fuerte just after 6.00 in Jan. So we had to trudge down the road to a smoke filled bar instead. Again hardly 4 star.

Incidentally there was an interactive channel on the TV where you could chose to watch an in house video only the service was down and had been down we were told for two months. So for two weeks we had to made do with Sky and CNN news and Nat Geographical which were only English speaking channels on our TV. Hard luck if like many with small children you had to spend each evening in your room.

Show time was either at 9.00pm or 9.30pm and a mixture of juggler’s acrobats you know the stuff and always lasted one hour. Worst were a boy/girl singer couple with keyboard who quickly emptied the room, unfortunately these were on 2 nights in the week although the notice in our lift said each night a different act. Best were the 4 Tops which really got the room on its feet dancing and rocking the only night this happened. You were better off going to the pub round the corner for the Elvis impersonator!

So a good two weeks of early nights were had by both.

Home now and never to darken the Atlantis door again, back to Princess next year.

Just returned from an 11 night stay at the Atlantis Palace Hotel which was booked last minute direct with the hotel.

Everything about the hotel was exceptional. The public areas were very clean, the staff were very friendly and efficient. The bedroom was a very good size and was cleaned spotlessly every day.

Although we were only on a bed/breakfast basis, we occasionally had our evening meal there and found they offered a good selection to a very high quality.

I would recommend this hotel to anybody but as we don't have children and we didn't sample the nightly entertainment, I cannot speak for families.

The beach at Corralejo was situated a 2 minute walk from the hotel and the general location in relation to the restaurants and bars was perfect.

Excellent, Excellent, Excellent.

We transferred to this hotel from the Fuente Park hotel along the road 4 days into our 2 week holiday. It is probably the best hotel I have stayed in. The entrance was very grand and welcoming.

The rooms were exceptionally clean and had air conditioning that could be set to 10 degrees if you wanted to. The rooms were a good size with a nice balcony and normal sized bathroom.

There are 2 main pools and a baby pool. One pool is standing depth and the other has a deeper section in the middle of it. The pool area was cleaned every morning and tape was put across so no one could reserve beds from ungodly hours of the morning. The tapes were undone at about 9 or 10 each morning.

There was a poolside bar for lunch which had the normal selection of food at average/cheap prices.

We usually had dinner about 8 in the restaurant. You were able to sit outside which was good because it was quiet and had a nice atmosphere. The food was amazing. A big variety and it wasn't possible to get bored of the choice. We put on about 2 stone whilst away. But it is possible to eat healthy as there is lots of fresh fruit and salads (We tended to eat the salads and fruit for starter then stuff ourselves after).

The entertainment was good for families. Every other night there was something really good on but sometimes there was boring singers. The hotel is situated right beside the town so you can go for a walk round the shops. Everything coses quite early though and it is very family orientated.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone especially families. I will definitely be back.

The cleanliness is second to none. Every morning there are teams of cleaners who work their way through the hotel. Each team has a supervisor who oversees and inspects everything. (If only our hospitals were cleaned as thorough.)

The rooms are quite large and cleaned everyday, the towels changed everyday if you wish, and of course there is air conditioning.

The food was good and plentiful with a large selection, although after a fortnight it was beginning to get a bit repetitive. Be aware, gents need long trousers to eat in the restaurant in the evening.

The pools are excellent and clean (2 plus a kiddies) and you are supplied with towels for the pool area. All in all the hotel facilities are excellent.

The hotel is located on the outskirts of the town, just a nice ten minute walk to the town centre, with the town beach just a three minute walk away. I would recommend the free coach the hotel offers to take and collect you, to and from the beach at the dunes, (Excellent beach).

The staff are very approachable and friendly and very very efficient.

There was entertainment every night and a decent variety, covering I would say most tastes. Again if you are there for two weeks you will have the opportunity to see the same show twice.

Would I go back? Most definitely, and highly recommend it.

Returned to the UK from the Atlantis Palace on Monday - It was the perfect tonic for the so called UK summer.

The hotel is excellent, very relaxed, peaceful and clean. The food is outstanding, some buffet style - all fresh and of a very high quality and there is also a grill with steaks etc cooked whilst you wait.

Despite being on a package holiday where twin beds are the norm the hotel fulfilled my email request for a double bed which was great too.

I agree with other reviews, the hotel is virtually a 5 star.

Worth every penny of the extra £100 versus other hotels offered by package operators.

What a great hotel!!

Went in Oct last year. Not to crowded, plenty of space on the terraces, free sun beds, and they provide towels that you can change every day.

Food is very goo, plenty of it, although if you were going for two weeks it may get repetative.

Rooms are spacious and clean. They provide three sets of curtains, one decorative, one blackout and another for privacy.

Staff very friendly, nice bar in reception to have a drink in before dinner. Resturant times are from 7-10pm eat when and where you like which we liked.

Free coach to the beach, but collect a ticket for travel from reception, they go quick. You can get droped at either 9 or 10 and collected at either 3 or 4.

There is a gym with spa and sauna, free use, great after a day on the beach.

Don't hesitate to go.
