stayed at this hotel for 10 days, complete nightmare from start to finish.on arrival we were put on the 12th floor room had a fuuny smell and we were not happy about the safety of our son due to the bad state of th balcony,so we asked to move ,they moved us to the 4th floor, room was cleaner but we were between 2 groups of german teenagers shouting and banging all night.complained and was told if it carried on we! could phone the police. we asked to be moved again this time we were put on the fifth floor room was spotless but we were right above reception.we arived at hotel at 1 o clock saturday morning we had unpacked and packed again 3 times by 0630.hotel was pretty clean and close to the beach, staff were rude and were more interseted in there own conversation than dealing with a query.breakfast was not to our liking mainly spicy meats and cakes.had to pay 5 lev per sunbed per day to sit by pool.bulgaria is quite cheap to eat and drink out but in our opinion spain, majorca and the canaries are miles better.would we go back? not in a million years.

The location of the hotel is good, right next to the beach (which is amazing), and only about a 15 min walk into the cente of the resort.

The hotel was clean and rooms were cleaned daily. The only off putting thing was seeing the cleaning lady (who was very nice and smiley) cleaning the bathroom floor with the toilet brush.

We found some of the staff very rude, unfortunately. On several occasions they were shouting at us when we insisted that we had left our keys with them only for them to tell us we hadn't. You could also feel them watching you as you walked through the reception area and then hear them laughing and talking about you. They stopped if you looked back at them.

The breakfasts were different, but pretty much what we expected. However, you had to get down there early or else you missed out completely!

Although we had a fridge in our room, there were no tea or coffee making facilities which was really annoying.

I wouldn't stay here again.

The rooms were basic but spotlessly clean and the hotel on the whole was the same.
The staff couldn't have been more pleasant. I went in '05 and '06 and stayed here both times and I would highly recommend it.
The hotel itself is next to the main strip with just the pool in between, although you can't see it from the pool so you feel quite secluded.
There's no entertainment in the hotel besides a pool table but just walk out the hotel past the pool and there's all the amusement you could ask for!
It's also extremely cheap, drinks food everything costs near nothing so your money will go a long long way which is always nice.

All in all I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone!

You could not fault any of the staff from this Hotel, they were always friendly, and very helpful if you had a queary or if you required information on the local bus service.(Thank You Natalie, who was on duty at the time)

The room was cleaned daily, fresh towels were also provided everyday with bed linen(even the nightwear was folded) changed every other.

The breakfast food was of exellent standard, bearing in mind it was of "Continental" standard.

Only problem is, the day trips out organised by Balkan Holidays, To go to Nessabar it would cost you £6 each, we went on the local bus which you can catch round tha back of the hotel on the main road, for only 60 stitinky each!!! Work that one out, also Bourgas would cost you a small fortune, and yet catch the bus for 3 Lev & be there in 45 mins!

Overall we have had a brilliant 2 weeks (03/09/05 - 17/09/05 ) even with the late night thunderstorm, and yes, there better than the british ones.

We only really had 1 day of poor weather, where you can make your own entertainment if you put the thought into it!

I would reconmend this Hotel to all of my work collegues and friends.

The service provided by restaurants & bars alike, do not compare to ours, you dont have to leave your chair to get a drink nothing is too much trouble.

Room was basic but clean. Bathroon was a walk in shower room, which looked nice but not very practical, it was very slippy had a nasty fall myself.
We went at peak season, we were put on the 12th floor, no problems in the 1st week but the second week we had no water from about 6.30pm onwards due to over use, it was the top 3 floors that were effected.
Hotel staff didnt really care they just said it wasnt their fault and told us to use the shower by the pool, that didnt go down well. Watch out for the balcony if travelling with toddlers, we had a 3 year old with us and didnt feel safe at all, needless to say she was banned from the balcony area.

We were bed and breakfast, would have prefered self catering as a vegetarian nothing to eat but cereal and toast, the kids were not impressed either.

location was good, this looks to be the nicer part of a huge resort.

Hotel had no entertainment at all, but we went out every night to eat so didnt really miss it.

Would i go back again?? no not really

Our room was small but very clean with a side sea view. satalite tv and a fridge.

The towels were changed every other day and the sheets were changed twice a week. The breakfast was nice with a good selection of food although we stuck to toast and cereal as there was alot of cooked meats, cheeses and cakes. the coffee and tea in the hotel was terrible so I would advice you take your own brand.

The Staff were very friendly. The pool although looked very good was a lot colder than the sea, the only thing that lets the hotel down is the lack of entertainment.

There are 2 pool tables in the bar though 5levs for 30 minutes. I would visit this hotel again but maybe in a few years time when hopefully they will have some entertainment.

The hotel had a good location.

Beware of the security boxes my keys opened some one elses box which I went to by mistake, the staff were not a bit concerned.

The rooms were small and basic but we try not to spend to much time in them.

The hotel staff were miserable and sour faced in all the times I said good morning not one staff member ever replied, the staff need customer care training.

I would never return to this hotel or Sunny beach again, back to Albena for me and my family next year where you are always guaranteed smiling friendly staff.

Hotel Slavyanski: Sunny Beach

The hotel was located at the north end of the resort in a quiet area but only 50 metres from the beach.

Slightly older hotel, stayed on bed & breakfast basis
Clean towels every other day, bedding changed every third day. The hotel and rooms were spotlessly clean with a fridge and TV and an excellent bathroom /shower room. The beds were very good to.

Plus an added bonus you can drink the tap water which is fed by spring water and not sea water.

The bar and lounge area was constantly cleaned which was'nt helped by the odd dipstick who climbed out of the pool and walked through and into the lifts dripping wet.
The breakfast catered mostly for scandanavian tastes with plenty of meat, cheese and fruit, cereals were available plus tea and coffee, You could have toast if you are willing to wait (slowest toaster I have ever seen).

Hotel staff very friendly and always willing to help.
Nothing was to much trouble, excellent service.
No entertainment provided which was a shame, bar prices very good. But walk fifty metres and plenty of entertainment available.

There was a shared pool which was very good but the sea was warmer, less crowded and had very little salt in it.
Would recommend this hotel, but if your after a bit of luxury ther are some very swish hotels available.

Room was quite small but adequate. Stayed in older part of hotel. Rooms were spotless, towels changed every day, bed linen changed about 3 times a week, maids are always cleaning everywhere.

Breakfast was good various selections of bread, cheese meats etc.

Location was ok is quite near the prom but at the farthest end, good if you want to walk off your dinner. Also the wee train stops right outside hotel which takes you into centre of resort.

Hotel staff were very friendly.

Although there is no entertainment there is plenty around to do and the bar is always full.

Word of warning though the pool is freezing so don’t just go jumping in head first.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone and hope to visit again next year.

We travelled with another couple who were in the next apartment from us. We went for 2 weeks from 22 May.

This review is for the old part of the hotel. Rooms basic and spotlessly clean, maids cleaning all the time, towels and bedding changed daily. Rooms more than adequate for when you think of the actual time you spend in them anyway. Had beautiful view of pool and the beach.

Breakfast did take a little getting used to, I tend to eat with my eyes sometimes also not a great meat lover, though partner seemed to enjoy the breakfasts, I stuck to the fruit which was delicious and by 3rd day tried the salad with like grated cheese on it, absolutely delicous.

Location of the hotel was spot on, after doing some research on the internet I was a little worried that it seemed far off from the centre, there was no need to worry as it was a lovely walk about 15 minutes away, and a little quieter much later at night, than at the centre.

No entertainment at the hotel though bar always seemed to be full.

Pool is shared with hotel Bellevue next door, cleaned daily, a lot of time spent by pool and in it though a little cold until you got used to it. Staff most helpful and very pleasant.

The rating I have posted for this hotel, are for the new wing.

When we first arrived we were allocated a room in the old part of the hotel and I wouldn't let my dog stay there. It is terrible.

The Balkan brochure shows a picture of the new wing but we were told by our rep that this part of the hotel was kept for the Germans.

We had to pay an extra £80 to get moved to this part of the hotel, so if you are booking here please beware.

Make sure you get what you see in the brochure.

We stayed in the refurbished side of this hotel. It was clean & tidy. Our room was cleaned everyday, even when we didnt leave the room until late afternoon (due to dicky tummy).

The main reception area was kept very clean, but sometimes the cleaners mopped at the busiest time of the day, so ended up with foot prints across reception.

The breakfast was different.... there was croissants with chocolate in the middle & cake as well(?) It must have been quite good, as a few of the guests filled bags up with food.

The location was a bit too far out of the centre, but at least it was fairly quiet. We also had a sea view, as long as you leaned over the balcony. The only thing about the balconies is that they have glass partitions.

My sister in law had a nudist 2 rooms up from her!!! A male one at that...

The staff..... where do I start!!! We went to order a couple of hot drinks & after standing there for almost 2 minutes, another customer turned up. They were served before us, then someone else turned up & they were served as well. We walked away & never went to buy anything else from there. The reception staff were really nice & friendly.

There was no entertainment within the hotel, but the entertainment from the Hotel Palace next door could be heard OK.

We knew what to expect as we had been to Sunny beach a few times before but my sister in law hadnt. She enjoyed it, but unfortunately, couldnt afford to go with us this year. Maybe next year. Different hotel though.

We stayed on B&B on suggestion from our travel agent- simply because of the cost of food in Sunny Beach.

We were in the front part of the hotel. Yes, the room was small and the decor a bit dated, but the view from the balcony was worth it- straight over the pool to the sea, about 50m away. The room was cleaned every day, and was spotless.

The pool was great. Our 4 year old was able to swim in the big pool, and even though there were three hotels using the pool there was more than enough sunbeds.

The food and drink were the same prices as other restaurants and bars around.

Breakfast was a bit rushed as there didn't seem to be enough tables, but plenty of food, though it may not be to everyone's liking.

There was no entertainment at night, but there's more than enough going on in Sunny Beach.

The staff were friendly enough, the waiting and kitchen staff were very efficient.

A very relaxing holiday, with no problems!

The hotel has a new part built onto it which is not shown on the internet photos - the rooms are lovely and cleaned daily.

Just a short walk along the prom to the centre, but plenty of taxi drivers and buses if you dont like a walk.

Practically on the beach - its actually across a small path - promenade.

Booked to go back again next year and heard that a few more people who we became friendly with are going back too.

Highly recemmended.
