| said: I Stayed at the kuban in june 2008 we were on bed and breakfast there were fruit cornflakes ect also eggs sausage bacon and something i thing were left over from the night before you could always find something you liked the rooms were very clean always clean towels plenty of sunbeds the pool was keep clean i have read many reports that you had to pay for sunbeds but if you showed your room key you did not pay for them we enjoyed bulgaria plenty to do good beaches good places to eat at and alot cheaper than spain yes i would go again and yes i would stay at the kuban it near to beach shop cafes and buses

| said: The staff at the Kuban were very helpful and assisted our every needs, the security guards kept themselves to themselves but I suppose that was their job. The room was very modern, with air conditioning and spacious enough for a damily of four. The maids serviced the rooms every day and changed our towels on a regular basis. We only booked bed and breakfast but the food was varied, fresh and very tasty. The Kuban is centrally located and is close by to the beach. The only thing I can give negative comments about is the fact that even though we were resident at the Kuban we were expected to pay 5 Leva for a sun lounger and 15 Leva per day per person to use the 3 water slides.
Above all a fantastic holiday and I wouldnt hesitate to book there again.

| said: We have just returned from 2 weeks holiday to Sunny Beach, staying at the Kuban Hotel.
We stayed on half board basis thinking if we overspent our holiday budget early we would at least know there was going to be food available if money got short.
Reading through the previous reports on this hotel I noticed that a lot of them are from a few years back. Although some of the bad reports are still valid we did find the hotel quite clean.
Alas the bad reports on the food proved to be true.
At first we though that staying in a country that was differed from our own with different foods on offer, we should not expect it to match european standards.
However looking at some of the fantastic restaurants available we soon realised that the food in the hotel was sub-standard.
We knew in advace that we had to pay a nominal charge for the use of the sunbeds and the waterpark slides but did not realise that anyone could use the hotels pool facilities, which some of the local children took full advantage of.
The waterslides were not managed properly which resulted in my son being jumped on by someone who thought it funny to climb up the waterslide as he was decending.
We saw no sign of any prostitutes and the casino was closed which we think is a sign that Bulgaria is trying to clean up its act to enable them to fully join the EU.
Hotel staff were frendly especially the pool attendant
the only exception was the restaurants assistant manager who had a face like she had been sucking lemons all night.
The food was poor we noticed some unusal things on the breakfast menu (fish fingers/chicken nuggets/ chichen portions etc) which as time progressed we realised were left overs from the previous evening meal. If you stuck to what you recognised (eggs, toast, cereal, rolls coffee) then breakfast was fine.
The evening meal however was a different kettle of fish. Buffet style, a choice of 6 dishes that reduced as the evening meal time progressed (if you arrive half way through you only had a choice of 4)
Most of the food was very basic (omlette, chicken drumstick, bits of meat on skewers) but looking at how much you paid for the meal as a suppliment you would be much better off buying your meal at one on the fantastic Itallian/ Chinese / Indian restaurants within easy walking distance.
We went mid June and the pool was clean and the Hotel staff were mostly frendly but then again it was not that busy. Before we left the standards were slipping as the amount of guests increased and the pool started to become cloudy.
There was no entertainment in the hotel which was a bit of a shame for the kids but the lovely rep stated that 6 days a week entertainment was available at the globus hotel which was only 3 mins walk away.
We would visit this hotel again as we believe that the standards have improved since some of the derogitory reports were written 2-3 years ago. But it would have to be early in the season and only bed and breakfast.
One last note if this is being read by any of the Kuban staff. Buy another CD as two weeks of listening to brother louie at every meal nearly drove us all bonkers !!!!!

| said: OK we have just arrived back home from kuban hotel on a balkans flight I thought we would have to jump start the plane it was a total disgrace (disaster waiting to happen).
Didn't have to deal much with hotel staff and everything seemed in order and having read some other views I was just a wee bit apprehensive about going.
Anyhow we arrived at kuban having paid extra for a sea view and never got it (well not much ). Rooms were spotless and cleaners were very good at their jobs.
The location was great however being propositioned by a lady of the night wasnt very nice the buffet bar at breakfast wasn't up to scratch had to get there early to catch the first serving.
Not a great choice to choose from so slice of toast was order of the day or go outside to the many places however I gave a huge thanks to the bar staff who made us so welcome and especially to Milen and Torodo nothing was too much trouble for them they were genuinely very friendly.
Paying for sun loungers was still a sore point as just like everyone else in the hotel we have paid to stay there and thought that the facilities would be there for us, the slides were mostly used by the kids so I thought why not join in and it was great.
So my over all view is as follows don't fly with Balkan and if you have any complaints try find English speaking staff.

| said: My husband and I and our two grown up daughters went to the Kuban in 06. Tthis was are 4th time in Bulgaria 3rd time in the Kuban.
We absolutely loved our time there, we are going back in August 08 and we cant wait.
The hotel was lovely and the staff were great,we all loved the slides(although I wouldnt go down the big one ha coward).
The Bulgarian people are the friendliest Ive met,they cant do enough for you. We met lots of people there all types and they all thought the same.
It didnt matter about the food in the hotel as the resturants outside were very nice. The Chinese resturants were great.
All in all we loved it and cant wait to go back.

| said: We stayed at the Kuban in August 2005 and really enjoyed it. I found the hotel to be clean and the cleaners were there everyday. The lads in the bar couldn,t do enough for you, my husband got ill when we were out there and Khalin came to the chemist and explained his syptons to the pharmacist so i could get the correct medication.
I do agree about the food I only got up one morning for breakfast it wasn,t worth getting up for it looked rotten, I also agree that we shouldn,t be charged for the sunbeds if we are guests there.
The flight was a bit hazardous as I thought the plane was going to fall apart but all in all we had a great fortnight there and would go back.

Rooms very nice, new bathroom suites and great views room balcony. Rooms cleaned every day, and clean towels every day. Bedding changed three times in two weeks.
Breakfast was buffet style, alot to choose from.
The hotel location is good, in the middle of everything, beach about 5 mins walk away but the hotel pool is good but you do have to pay for sun loungers which are 5lvs each!
Staff ok but not really that friendly, didn't smile much!
There is no entertainment at this hotel but seen as you are close to everything, it didn't really matter.
All in all a great holiday and would definitely go back.

| said: Just got back from Bulgaria!! With my fella we stayed in the Kuban £500 each 1 week B&B booked 5 days before we left we though £500 for a week we would be staying in luxury!! Well here’s what we though!!
The hotel is based in the centre of sunny beach that’s the only good thing about this hotel! Although everywhere you go in sunny beach you see the big ugly looking building!
The cleanliness was appalling the rooms were smelly there was a birds nest on the balcony and the TV was broken (that wasn’t a problem for us) the shower area could have done with a good wash It had black dirt all round it! We had hot water 2/7 days!
This holiday was a con!! The hotel was bearable but for £500 no way was I satisfied!! In the book its £500 for a to week holiday there!
Balkan holiday are a disgrace and were on our way to taking them to court
Don’t use them if your going to Bulgaria for you sake!! There coning a hell of a lot of people! If you have a complaint for Balkan go to the forum?

Well I & my wife & our close friends & our kids were looking forward to our first Bulgarian break!
We have never booked with Balkan holidays before or heard much about them so we seen the Kuban the kids thought it would be great so we went ahead and booked! Worst mistake we have ever made!
The hotel seemed OK on arrival wasn’t quit as nice as I hoped! One of the couple we were withs child cut all his leg going down one of the sides at the pool! So he got sent to hospital! The rest of the kids were too scared to go down them as they didn’t want to get hurt!!
The hotel was full or Germans and rough looking British people!
We had a look round sunny beach! There were some cracking hotels along the beach! The Kuban was an embarrassment it stuck out like a sore thumb!!
We used the Globus pool & used the Kuban for sleeping and washing!
We probably will one day go back to Bulgaria when it gets the Euro!!
Everything in Bulgaria is so cheap the thing is you get what you pay for and that’s rubbish!
Bulgaria is good if you can’t afford the euro

RESORT:
I think if you want to go on holiday to Bulgaria then your best off in the mid season as we found everything shutting down, found nothing much to do!
BEACH:
We spend most of our time at the beach as I do not like the Kuban pool!! The beach was clean and water was lovely and warm!
POOL AT HOTEL KUBAN:
Didn’t like the pool too noisy, lots of kids going down the sides all day! Also had to pay for the sun loungers!! You also had to pay for the sides at the small waterpark! Also the pool & small waterpark are open to anyone! I feel I paid the price for the hotel so I shouldn’t need to pay to use the beds!
ENTERTAINMENT:
There is no entertainment in this hotel!! There’s a nightclub & a casino under the hotel which is extremely noisy!!
FOOD:
Disgusting we only got breakfast thank goodness!! It was never cook it look revolting!! So we skipped breakfast everyday!!
LOCATION:
The only thing this hotels got going for it is the location! It’s near to the beach and in the centre of the resort!
STAFF:
As we arrived the staff were very rude! As we got put on the 17 floor and asked for lower as I’m afraid of heights! We got no where! The cleaning staff I think took a break!!
THE ROOM:
As we walked in there was an awful smell of dampness and just an awful smell!! The beds were damp the toilet wasn’t clean the floor was dirty! We stayed for a week and not once did we get new towels!!
OVERALL:
This hotel isn’t for me as I like a relaxing holiday!! I don’t think this hotel should be a 3* although we did see some awful looking 2*s I'd say the Kuban is around a 2* In English standards!!
This hotel is not very family friendly!! My kids were bored as the pool was too cold to bear! I wouldn’t go back to this hotel!! I wasn’t Impressed with Bulgaria either but I wasn’t expecting much! Sunny beach is alright just put it in Greece or Spain and I think I would have had a better holiday knowing I was in a safer place!!

I booked last minute with Balkan holidays which wasn’t exactly cheap!! I have a 3 year old and Balkan promised me a family hotel and a ground floor!!
Our flight was from Manchester airport with was a fine flight, the plane was very old looking and the in-flight meal was a joke!! A roll and some ham £10 each!! I could have made better one at home before hand!!
Ok well we arrived at the airport to be told we were going to the Kuban in sunny beach! We arrived and it looked more like high rise flats than a hotel!! We got sent to the fifteenth floor!! There were 20 floors altogether!!
The room wasn’t up to 3 star standards! I’ve stayed in better 2 stars!! Rooms were damp and smelly!! We went to bed and first thing asked to be moved! They moved us to the fourth floor!! Which made no difference!!
After that we went to try out breakfast there was nothing to choose from everything was cold!! Luckily we found a McDonalds to keep the kid happy!!
Sunny beach was ok I suppose and the location of this hotel is right in the middle of the resort but I think I'd rather been based out of the resort a little and out of that Kuban dump!!
It wasn’t a family hotel at all!! Nothing for the kids! There wasn’t even a small pool for the kids to play in!! There were a couple of slides at the pool apparently it’s a waterpark!!
There’s a main pool if you want to just swim which is tiny!! Also you have to pay for you sunbed!! Which I have never had before!!
I did pay for this hotel so I wasn’t happy about that!! Also I don’t think the pool actually ever got cleaned it was disgusting!!
Also toilets at this hotel aren’t free so best of going to your room!!
There was also a nightclub at this hotel which wasn’t child friendly!!
This hotel may be a 3 star but that’s in Bulgarian standards!! You only see this hotel in Balkan!! The worst holiday company you could choose in my opinion!! Also Balkan rep? I don’t know who it was or if we ever had one!! I have complained to Balkan but like others we get know where with Balkan!!
Worst holiday I’ve ever had and put me of Bulgaria remember Bulgaria’s a 3rd world country so watch you belongings!!

| said: Just back from my first holiday in sunny beach and Bulgaria. I booked this hotel for me & my twin sister’s birthday. I booked it over a year ago & couldn’t wait. At the time of booked we would have rather gone to one of the hotels in Thompson books but they were over budget for us.
The Kuban hotel looks fine IN THE BOOK. We arrived in the middle of the night where lots of prostuites were outside the hotel. We got in to reception to be greeted by two moody women. But that wasn’t a problem it was when we went to our room!! It looked like they had forgotten to clean it.
The beds were made but stained and there were long black hairs on the sheet. Which made me sick. Also in the bathroom the toilet was leaking badly & there were black hairs in the shower. I went to reception & demanded to be moved. No other available rooms.
Next day went for the breakfast we paid for and wasted our money on. It looked to disgusting to eat so we didn’t bother.
We asked the rep to move us to a more suitable hotel. She didn’t know much English. She was also hopeless, and we didn’t get moved.
The pool area was dangerous the sides were dangerous also. You also have to pay for your sun lounger. I didn’t expect that as we paid to stay in the Kuban. I tended to use another hotels pool as the kids were splashing down the sides all day. We used the Victoria Palace. Total heaven comparing to the Kuban!
There wasn’t any entertainment at the Kuban. It did have a casino & a nightclub but there weren’t really part of the hotel nor up to much.
There are men with snakes outside the hotel who insist you have your photo taken with the snake. Also alligators with there mouth taped. Animal lovers beware!!
The location was in the centre of the small resort of sunny beach. There are bars round about but its more sit down have a meal places. Loads of fake clothes, perfume, watches, cigs, dvd`s
The beach is nice but of you want to just lie on you towel you have to lie out of the bed area.
All in all a really disappointing holiday.
I wouldn’t visit the Kuban hotel again. As it’s a bit tacky looking but sunny beach if there’s time. There are too many places to visit.

Staff 1st class hotel position in the middle of the hustle n bustle.
I would only say kids didn’t like food very much but McDonald’s is only 2mins away so no-one went hungry even our fussy eater.
The waterpark was great BUT I feel as guest of the hotel we shouldn’t have had to pay for sun beds I agree people should pay for slides if they use them but that was our only pool so even though you don’t pay to swim they still get your money because you pay for the beds and that ADDS up over 2wks.

I went for my two weeks holiday there, Bulgaria was like India a really poor looking place!
Wasn’t at all impressed by the hotel the food was uneatable!
No entertainment actually I wasn’t overly impressed with anything about the place!
The hotel had an awful smell it wasn’t clean it's was scruffy!
Yes everything is cheap but you get what you pay for! Perfume are water, the clothes I didn’t buy because I don’t like poor quality! Watches my daughter got a watch which broke the day after!
This holiday was more like a prison sentence!
There were some ok hotels along the sea front! But just read reports on them and there also bad!
I shall never return to the Kuban even if you gave me a free holiday a year to the place!! And never Bulgaria it’s so run down

Ok I've stayed in better and the hotel wasn't upto scratch! But was it really that bad? The location was great so its easy to go use the beach or another hotel!
My children were disapointed with the waterpark as ther though It would be like one of the ones we go to in Spain! (I didnt expect that though).
The entertainment is non exsisting! But theres a lot of places to eat out beware as we all got tummy bugs! Yes It is as cheap as people say! Things like
clothes, perfume, cds, dvd & watches were what you payed for rubbish really! Id rather have payed more money to get what I wanted!
Overall the kids hated it as sunny beach is very different than we have been to before! You forget you in Bulgaria and well like Brighton or Blackpool with sunshine! But its worth a visit I would go back Ive seen everything and done everything on the first week!
I think to weeks were to much! Having bored kids made it worse! Although Im glad I went and can say i've been there!
But once is more than enough!

I think like most of the other readers! This hotel is a dump! It stood out like a sore thumb!
The resort got boring after a week of looking at the stalls! Sunny beach remined me of Brighton! I didnt like the resort It didn't suit my standards!
The hotel had little things for the kids to do! Extremely ignorant staff! There is no entertainment!
I would never visit this hotel again nor Sunny beach I think once is more than enough! I dont believe this hotel is a 3*
My 3 kids were extremley disapointed! I felt like it was my fault this hotel was boring! Next year's hoilday i'll be doing loads of research to find the perfect place!
I wish I had found holiday-truths before I travelled to Bulgaria.

The hotel was open to anyone you had to pay for you sun loungers & the slides! The breakfast wasnt worth bothering about we walk in the resturant and walked back out! The pool only for swimming in was tiny and it was the coldest pool Ive ever been in!
The resort was full of the same things after a weeks looking we all wanted to come home!
The hotel had nothing for the kids or the adults! I found the hotel a bore unclean pitt hole! If you high up in this hotel be aware that the lifts break all the time! We were on the 18th floor and got stuck in the lift nearly everyday!
I had the holiday from hell here and I will never return to the kuban or Bulgaria
You can make up your own minds but this hotel is not my cup or tea! nor most people who were there!

Sunny Beach Is bad enough If u cheap and nasty well go 2 sunny beach! the kuban looks like salford in the sunshine its an ugly hotel staff are ignorant!! The water park in the hotel was a couple of slides! The pool was disgusting loads of dead bugs flooting with you and the flooms cut my little girl! I would never go back to the kuban or Bulgaria Its a tiny its dirty and full of prostuites & beggers! the beach is ok but beaware of thiefs!! the journay to the sunny beach water park was awful! Borgas airport looked the a bus station! the sunny beach water park was tiny and dirty!! if u like cheap nasty dirty scruffys places then this is your dream holiday but for me Id like class!!

Everything is so cheap we recommend the Four Towers nice food, lovely staff they support Newcastle.
Hotel staff very nice hotel is very clean.
A lot of jelly fish in the sea but we were told they were harmless.

The hotel was like a tower block! It looked like the tackiest thing ever!!
Room wasn’t great & very small!

he hotel was like trying to be something it's not! The "so called" waterpark was nothing! We took a trip to the main water park! I wouldn’t even have called it a waterpark it was rubbish kids were bored after 2 minutes!
Breakfast was worse looking than dog food!
I didn’t pay interest to the staff!
You had to pay for your sunbeds! That’s a total con!!
Bulgaria is a dump I will never return!
It’s like visiting Blackpool!

The hotel was never a 3* It shouldn't have had any stars
The resort was ok I suppose
Rude staff!!
Rooms looked very old fashioned
The resorts just like a Bulgaria Blackpool!!
If you aren't well of!!! Then come here you will love it!!
If you like good quality I wouldnt advise Sunny beach or Bulgaria to you!!! As its lacking!! The shop keepers are rude!! The men with snakes just jump at you!! If your a snake hater watch out!!

The food was awfull!! We ended up eating out!! Which was cheap!! But sometimes nasty!!
Like the fake clothes!! Like I said If you like quality!! DONT COME HERE!!
If you like fake gear & run down countries!! I'd advise this would be your holiday paradise!!

| said: Just got back from the Hotel Kuban. The Hotel was fantastic, it looked brand new everywhere inside. Only stayed Bed and Breakfast, and didn't use any of the facilities for entertainment (i.e. casino, nightclub).
The hotel is ideally located in Sunny Beach and I would definitely go back again.
There is a bit of noise being that central but if you close the patio door you cannot hear a thing.

| said: This hotel is one of the best we have ever stayed at.
Nothing was to much bother for the staff & the rooms were excellent. The only fault was that you had a little noise off the local clubs but mainly on the lower floors(we were on the 18th). We have booked for next year & there was only three rooms left.
ps.it should be upgraded to 4star as we were in a three star last year and it was not a patch on the kuban
