This is a private complex with lovely gardens and small pools which were very quiet.
A 10 minute stroll takes you into the centre of the village and the same for the beaches.
Our apartments were at the front and I found it very noisy at night with traffic, although it is not a major road.
The cafe/bar underneath caused me problems with sleeping as people spoke and music played until all hours. The police visited at one time and it did get better. The cafe owner is very nice and it is not noisy; it's just that the noise travels.
Our apartment was very good but very uncomfortable beds which creaked with every movement.

We had been going to these apartments for about 6 years
with no complaints at all.
The rooms are very spacious, especially the 2 bedroomed apartments. Unfortunately we now can't find which company in this country deals with Quinta da Praia so it looks like it will have to be a DIY.
There are 2 main pools which although not very big, are rarely that busy at the beginning of the season. They are beautifully landscaped and very private.
The bar had recently been taken over by new owners and a revamped bistro/restuarant was about to open in August 2003.
The original "Aromas" restaurant was probably one of our favourites in Alvor and as handy as you could imagine.
The town was a mere 5 minute walk and the nearest beach 10 minutes.
There is slight road noise (espcially on the 2nd Tuesday of the month when the street market is held in the road in front of the main building- fascinating though!)
