| said: Just come home from this hotel. Well located, clean, friendly, rooms cleaned every 2 days and towels every 4. the rooms were spacious. we asked for a pool view but we were facing a main road and a very old farm building left to rot, but if you looked further out, you could see the sea and coastline. the pool area was spacious and clean, with a few sunbeds around but to the side of the pool was a garden where there were more sunbeds on the grassed area. they water this area but they put too much water on it and it stays boggy until 3 or 4 in the afternoon. the pool is freezing the first few times you get in but you tend to get used to it after a few times. the rep wasn't too bad, approachable and friendly and would deal with problems guests had.

| said: We turned up at the hotel at 2pm and from the outside it didnt look that great but when we got inside we were surprised.
we had room 130 and it was above the bar area and to the front of the hotel which was on a busy road but the noise wasnt that bad.
the hotel is 5 mins from a really nice beach, turn left when you leave the hotel cross the raod and it is down a wee road on your right. The strip is a 10 minute walk away, up hill, and be warned it has lots of shops but there are a few people try to sell you drugs! dont let them put you off though.

| said: Stayed in the santa eulalia in july and had a great time, was very busy with children but that didn't matter much to us. Room was very nice better than what we'd expected and the cleaners where in 10 days out of 14 which was great as where not filthy people so we didnt need them in there everyday. they changed are towles 4 times in 2 weeks which was also good. was hard to get a sunbed on some of the days. we got up early 1 morning and laid our towles out, when we came back from breakfast a lady had moved them on to the floor, that can be annoying. entertaiment at the hotel was ok but did'nt spend much time there as the strip is a 10 - 15 minute walk away and there was plenty to do there. Staff behind bar where very friendy and the bar snacks served at lunch times are tastey enough. We did request a pool view however we where placed on the forth floor at the back of the hotel. it seemed very lonley but it was nice enough. we had a very slight sea view to are right. the beach to the left of the hotel is gorgeous and only a 5 minute walk away. Must mention the microwave in the apartment, it was great had a grill and an oven in it. best places to visit are deffinatly slide & SPLASH zoo marine great if you have kids.

| said: Hotel was very basic. Balcony very small could only get one chair out on it. The sunny did not shine at our side of the apartments.
I would suggest if you want the sunny on your balcony that you book a room over looking the pool.I would also take my own towels as the ones we got were sour smelling, they are only meant to change the towels once a week but we did get different towels every second day but these were still not fresh.I am sure they were only drying the towels not washing them.Yuck.
The hotel was very old and dated I think a refurbish is required the quicker the better. We had a microwave oven in our apartment that worked as grill/combi oven so could get toast in the morning, cooker rings very slow so kettle took for ever to boil.

Very pleased with the hotel in general, clean and tidy reception area with air conditioning that was bliss.
The rooms have air conditioning, and are cleaned every other day. They were basic but did not feel cramped at all.
It was about a 10-15 min walk to the strip which was very lively.
Turn left at the hotel and the Santa Eulalia beach was great, also about 10 min walk but not as steep a hill as we expected after reading other reviews.

| said: My family and I visited the hotel in June.
I found it to be clean, tidy and spacious. There was two adults, 1 child and a baby in a studio but we never found it cramped.
The staff are very nice, and helpful.
The world cup was on so it was a really good atmosphere in the bar.
The hotel/Aprt pool is lovely, kids had a great time. Kids club was good!
If I had one critisim it would be that the hotel/aprt is a bit on a walk to the strip.
The supermarket is about five minutes away, but is really reasonable.
Overall these Apartments are great value for money, not the best location I have stayed in, however I would return, no problem and recommend for a cheap break.

| said: Room was big enough but bare minimum.
Clean but smelt of damp kitchen area. Lots of very hot water for bath, but shower not really any good.
Beds good and rooms now have air conditioning. Settee uncomfortable. Two rings to cook on was tedious and no microwave etc. Okay view at pool side.
When it rains it drips onto air conditioning unit outside on balcony and is irritating. Didn't find reception staff that friendly but reasonable.
A bit concerned about safety though, especially as hot water too hot sometimes especially with children, and rugs and mats have no anti slip on them, couple this with tiles that haven't got anti slip surface and get wet and it is a concern.
Be careful. Reasonably placed but must be okay walking, or taxi quite cheap.

| said: We have just spent two enjoyable weeks at the Santa Eulalia and wouldn't hesitate to return.
We had a bright, airy and clean room to the rear of the hotel and so had no noise prblems. Everything needed seemed to be within 10 mins walk. Old Town about E4.00 in taxi.
We didn't find the hotel bar overly expensive as used to paying through the nose for drink in Dublin anyway. It is, however, cheaper to use bars in surrounding area. Try "Coyote Bar" for 1.5 litre jug of local beer(Superbock)@ E3.50.
Staff in hotel were very pleasant and had absolutely no problems dealing with children. We found that we got what we paid for with this holiday.

| said: Had some concerns after reading mixed reviews. Not luxurious but found it to be clean, tidy and well maintained.
Kitchen facilities basic but who wants to cook.
Lifts took in turns to break down but no big deal unless you were lugging cases.
Bar expensive and entertainment basic but loads of alternatives outside.
No problems with sun beds, either round pool or in the garden area.
Location good - 10 mins gentle stroll to the left gets you to very nice local beach. A few mins stroll to right gets you to all the bars and restaurants you need. About 1.5 miles from centre of old town but the little road train runs every 20 mins at E3 for a day ticket.

| said: My fist impressions of the hotel were as most people noted, it could do with a lick of paint! The foyer and the bar area had obviously just been re-decorated and were of a good standard. Our room, ( a one bed apartment) was very spacious, the bathroom was quite new, but the kitchenette was very very basic, i think it is wrong that this accommadation is described as self catering. It consisted of a dirty fridge and two electric rings, nothing more. If you wanted a toaster you had to hire one for 6 euros which i think is scandalous. Needless to say we ate out all the time, which in fairness was our plan anyway but it would have been nice to have the option. The maid service also left a lot to be desired, they came to our room approx 4 times out of 7 but all they do is make beds and empty bins. The linen and towels weren't changed the whole time we were there!! The corridors in the hotel were also dirty, i noted the same stain on the floor over a period of 3 days.
The location of the hotel was perfect for us, within walking distance of the beach and the strip but not right on top of it, ideal for a family with young children.
I can't really comment on the entertainment in the hotel as we went elsewhere at night, the bar prices were quite expensive.
The pool area was nice but unfortunately we never got to sit around it because people got up at the crack of dawn to lay claim to a sun bed with their towels, it actually says in the foyer that this wasn't allowed but nobody ever did anything about it.

Located close to Santa Eulalia beach, much better than Praia d'Oura beach, but up hill on way back! Very close to numerous bars/restaurants of good standard.
Bar very expensive but bar staff very good.
Other staff could be hit or miss.
Big screen in bar good for soccer matches but Coyote bar 50 yards up is much cheaper with same big screen.
Kids club was excellent & this excused most of the shortcomings.
Would not return unless totally refurbished & price reduced drastically

My 8 year old son loved the grass area to the left of the pool, where he could play football and I was happy knowing he was safe and could not go out to the road.
We would be more than happy to visit this complex again!

| said: As we drove up to the apartments we thought our worst nightmare of a first holiday abroad had come true, it looked shabby. Once we were inside however it improved drastically.
We had a one bedroom apartment and although not totally modern it was ideal. We had been warned renovations were going on but to be honest we only were troubled the once when the workmen came in to reseal the balcony doors with a minimum of noise and fuss.
Lower floor pool facing excellent, exactly what we asked for on booking.
Staff friendly and helpful had to ask for new bedding once due to youngster but not a problem within 10 mins bedding delivered.
Outdoor pool freezing, no kids club on so indoor pool was a godsend. Kids loved it always had it to ourselves although it was closed last 4 days of our hol due to Easter holidays starting and outdoor to be used only.
Staff helpful at all times although in house entertainment left a lot to be desired.
Close to everything though, lovely beach 10 mins walk away as was the strip. Plenty to do. Would recommend the jeep safari had a wonderful day up the mountains.
Zoomarine is superb and Algarve zoo is also worth a visit.
All in all price reflected what we got but at the end of the day we would pay more to go back again to same apartments
ps Eat out very cheap as cooking facilities are very basic.

| said: When we arrived at the Santa Eulalia we thought it looked a bit cheap, and there was a bit of graffiti on the wall opposite which didn't inspire us. The rooms were not ready for check in so we had to dump our bags and go for lunch. The room still wasn't ready when we got back, but after a glass of wine they gave us our key.
The corridor to the room was dark and dingy and a bit off putting. I was thinking "oh my god what kind of place is this?", but when we got into the room we were pleasantly surprised. The one bedroomed apartment was a really good size and really clean. The furnishings were a bit shabby but did the job. Be warned, the kitchen facilities are very very basic, there was no electric kettle, toaster, microwave or grill or oven and the utensils were a bit sparse. All there was were two rings. We didn't care that much as I have never cooked a meal on holiday anyway, but if you go self catering it would be nice to have the option.
The bar area in the hotel was nice enough but there was nobody else in there so we felt like billy no mates. Drinks are not that cheap either but the barmen were nice and friendly. The so called entertainment was bobbins!! A dodgy parrot show that the kids loved and a large screen for the footy.
The outside pool was freezing and the inside one was full of scally kids running riot so we didn't take our five and one year old in there.
The hotel was ok for a base in which to travel, but it is miles away from the centre of Albufiera, and although we enjoyed our holiday we wouldn't choose this particular hotel again. It was alright for a cheap deal though.

| said: Although we have rated this hotel quite poorly, we would go back if we got the same kind of deal (ie price it was really cheap).
We had two one bedroom apartments which were really quite a good size, but they definately needed decoration. We managed to cook for the five of us on quite a few times without too much difficulty in the small kitchen.
Entertainment: Was rubbish, the Karaoke was a joke, but to be honest we didn't stay in that much as the bar lacked any atmosphere, it was OK for a drink before you headed off somewhere else. There is also so much to do round about this area with plenty of bars and restaurants
Staff : They were OK, we didn't have much dealings with them. However, we did hire a car from the reception desk and this went very smoothly. Although, be careful we later found out this was very expensive as it was from Avis there are lots of cheaper ways to hire cars in the area.
Outdoor Pool : Was clean but freezing, so we didn't venture in.
Indoor Pool: Was far to small.

| said: We visited this hotel last year and to be quite honest, I found that the amenities actually held within the hotel itself were extremely limited, there was virtually no entertainment(apart from a karaoke which was held once a week)and directly facing our apartment was a building site, (incidently we were never informed of this by the tour operator before we went).
The Direct Holidays rep at this hotel was disinterested in any complaints which we had and I can honestly say I have absolutely no idea how this hotel has a three star rating.
Apart from the hotel, the area of Praia D'Oura was fantastic, the local people were very friendly and the Montechoro strip was definitely the place to be, something for everyone there!
In short I would definitely go back to the area but not to the hotel, the larger Club Praia D'Oura would have been a fantastic place to stay.

| said: Despite a few irritations, I did have a pleasant holiday at Santa Eulalia Aparthotel.
I found the apartments of better than average size, basic, and clean. The snack bar only provides basic chips and toasties.
Located 15 mins walk downhill is an excellent beach. This would not suite anyone with walking difficulties.
A 15 min walk in the opposite direction you will find the bustle of Montechoro "Strip" with its many bars, bar discos and restaurants, some of which were excellent.
P.S. Don't bother trying Piri Piri ..... it's overrated!
Loads of varied restaurants to suite all pockets scattered throughout the resort. I recommend Paulo's (Itallian) and The Cockerel (British) for excellent food and plenty of it at reasonable prices.
Now for my two complaints:-
1)Despite the presence of cleaners every day, the public toilets in the main reception area of the apartments constantly smelled ... disgusting!!
2)Unfortunately, the residents, mainly British and Irish indulge in booking sunbeds from 2am.
The holiday rep warned us at the welcome meeting that the hotel staff would remove these towels but this did not happen to my knowledge. However, a small resistance force seemed to enjoy disposing of towels in the early hours, up palm trees and into the pool. However, this didn't seem to deter the selfish idiots who appeared to like climbing trees and having wet towels. I witnessed some sunbeds with towels on lying till midday before being claimed, and others lying all afternoon empty while the users went shopping etc. If only people used the beds when they actually wanted them, there would be plenty to go round. The hotel must do something to stop this practice!!!
Finally, be prepared to fight of timeshare touts who are everywhere with scratchcards promising gifts of cash, camcorders and luxury holidays.
Overall, I would consider going back.
Happy holiday!!!
