| said: I stayed at the marvel hotel from 12th sept - 20th sept, I advise to anybody going to sunny beach that if you are thinking of staying in the marvel hotel to think again, but if you do decide to go to hotel then stay self catering as 7 out of the 8 people I met in the hotel suffered from bad stomachs and vomiting and 2 of those 8 were actually diagnosed with food poisoning by the hotel doctor. I and my partner only ate at the hotel twice because the food is really poor.
The one good thing about the hotel was the cleaners, I had the same one everyday and she was fantastic, after 3 days I started tipping her because she was that good and give her £20 on the last day. I did not like the resort itself but if you do decide to go, ive heard good things about the Victoria palace which is right opposite the marvel and looks fantastic as well.

| said: We stayed in the Marvel hotel for a week at the end of August.The location is excellent, just a hundred yards from the beach.The hotel and rooms are very clean.The breakfast is horrible in the hotel,if you are looking for an Irish style breakfast forget it.One of the reasons I picked this hotel,was for the Air conditioning it "Advertised".The setting was between 24deg c and 26deg c and it would not go lower and there seemed to be no air being pumped out of the unit.I asked at the hotel reception could the lower it to say 18 deg c and they told me they could not as it was centrally controlled. Sunny beach is excellent and Inexpensive.There seemed to be no draught Heiniken,Budweiser or Carlsberg though although you can buy bottles at around 2 euro each.The local beer is cheap at around 1.50 euro a pint.

| said: The hotel was kept clean, and the cleaning staff very friendly.
The pool side was small and into our second week we found it hard to get sun beds, they are also very packed together.
The food was terrible, it looked very nice but it was horrid. My boyfriend was served raw meat by the main cook and b time he got to our table his plate was swimming with blood. Every day was the same and we ended up sticking to having just chips.
our room was situated over a bar with every night mon-sun people singing and shouting which was ment to end at 12, but never did one night it carried on till 2 in the morning, while they moved chairs scraping then over the floor (this was the staff). we complained and got moved to another room which was facing a building site and the maids never really came after that, and when they did they spilled water all over my make-up.
Other than the horrid singing i never saw any other entertainment in the hotel.

| said: We went on this holiday as a late deal though travel republic. The hotel was extremely clean and was constantly cleaned throughout the day. The rooms were cleaned each day and clean towels provided although on one occassion no bath towels were provided and we had to ask at reception for these.
We were half board as this was the offer and only ate breakfast - which was okay. We went on a couple of occassions in the evening to have a salad starter these were actually okay too
the location of the hotel was excellent we had asked for a higher floor room with a pool/sea view and we got all these on the 6th floor overlooking the pool and with a fantastic sea view as well. The hotel was a two minute walk to the beach and the main drag of sunny beach with shops places to eat etc
there was no entertainment provided oh tell alie adfvertised was kareoke at 9pm each evening - dont know if it ever happened as we went out each evening!!
The pool area was fine and clean too - no problem getting a sun bed although we did find out that we were there at the end of the season!! This also is the coldest pool ever - ice in fact takes 20 minutes of coaxing yourself to get in!!
We would visit this hotel again as a base but would like to see something going on in the hotel!!

| said: The Marvel Hotel, one word WOW this hotel is kept so clean, way above any expectations i had. All teh staff were very friendly, I rated the entertainment as None, because we went out everynight.
As soon as we entered the hotel we were asked to have in our pasports, once done they gave us room key, its an actual key with the room number and hotel naem on it, which i thought was a bad idea (incase you loose the key)
The day after we went to reception to get passports back as we needed the for cashing in some cheques. They were handed back no problem. The safety deposit box is located in the lobby and its 5lev per day, this required a member of staff to open as it needs 2 keys. We always found it easy to get passports when we wanetd , never waiting around. The exchange rate in the hotel was 2.60 but we were able to get 2.78 at Crown exchange.
Upon going to evening meal, as you enter the restraunt one of the many pretty girls will ask you for your room number, then your free to serve yourself at the buffet style counter. They havny got the hand of english sausage yet as its still hot dogs, but theyre getting there :) The food varied from day to day, but we were always able to get Pizza if we wanted it. Normally the hotel has a special on the end, this ranged from, Liver and onions to Fish to stirfried veggies. This is cooked fresh infront of you.
Brekfast was good, with Fried Eggs, Fresh bread, Baked Beans(Heinz somedays) stay away from the fried bread and the sausage though as theyre not nice.
I'd definitly go back to this hotel, without a doubt I'd be there tomorrow if I could.

| said: I've just got back from the Marvel in Sunny Beach and had a great time! The hotel was constantly being cleaned and was lovely!
The only issues we had with hotel were that to get in the safety deposit box, a member of the front desk/security had to open the box for you. This was a pain as the boxes were kept in the lobby and you had to find someone to open it, who then had to find another key (as it was their key and yours that opened the box up).
We found some of the male front lobby staff to be very rude and on the last day, even through we paid for food, we ate out to keep away from them.
Another issue was the poor amount of lifts. there were 10 floors, one lift went up as far as floor 10, but the others only went to 7. As we were on floor 8 it took so long to get a lift!!!
Rooms were lovely and cleaned daily, we had a lovely view and could see the sea.
There isn't much for young children.

| said: We were due to stay in the Majestic Hotel but were dumped in the Marvel by Astral Holidays. The hotel is a dumping ground for allocation on arrival guests. The room stank of tobacco ( ad I' a smoker) the bed sheets were dirty and there were used items of a feminine hygiene nature in the waste bin in our room - I kid you not.
After a huge amount of complaining we were moved the next morning. My advice is dont go here - its a seriously bad place to be.

| said: We have only just got back from the Marvel. And I must say that the hotel was spotless. Not a mite to be seen, rooms spacious but mind the bar on the balcony our friends hit their toes often, sore.
The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. Rooms cleaned every day. We did not go hungry but the food was always cold to warm, this seemed to be normal in most places we ate in and when you sent it back, it was the same, so no point complaining. We would visit the hotel again if it was some where else.

| said: Four of us have just returned from one weeks stay in the marvel hotel, we can't say anything bad about the hotel except to say on our last day, dripping with sweat we where not allocated a shower, they wanted money from us.
Our flight was not until 10pm so it was a long time to hang around in extreme temperature's, and charging for the use of the sun loungers is a little over the top notice there made us laugh "pool free" otherwise the staff are very helpful, chambermaids hard working, ours brought us extra pillows when we did not ask for them.
The food was always cold to warm, even when it was just put out, seemed to cater for Germans, salads were good and fresh, I say thank goodness for hard boiled eggs, because thats all we eat.
We would not visit sunny beach again, all the same shops and be very careful about changing your money there is a lot of bad money exchange dens around, only use the banks or crown exchange, we had a bad experience on our first day, and met some people who had lost money with these crooks. They need to cleen up there act before joining the E.U.

Must for everyone excellent hotel friendly staff
The rooms were very big and clean the bathrooms were very big you could have a party in there the air-con is very good, turn it off during the night or else your end up with the flu.
As for other people saying the Germans had armbands,anyone can have them if you pay at reception, you get an arm-band if you pay for the week.
The staff around the hotel pool were very nice and if you ask nicely (and tip them) they'll keep you some beds for the next day, so you wont have to get with the Germans at 5 to get a bed.
All in all fantastic you have to go, I'am going again and my mate has just booked to go to Sunny-beach too. Happy holidays

| said: The hotel marvel is a lovely hotel, it is very clean, and rooms are of a very high standard.
The food is lovely, and very hot.
Sunbeds are a little scarce, and you do need to pay for them.
Location is lovely, just on the north of Sunny Beach.

| said: I found the Marvel to be very clean and spacious, the rooms were amazing and the cleaners did a good job.
The Marvel is positioned right behind the Victoria Palace so we lost a bit of the sun but wasnt bothered by it. We found it to be a bit out of the way and quite a walk to the town centre and bars/restaurants etc.
The food was a bit of a dissappointment but we was told that none of the hotels had there food up to scratch yet. I prefered to eat out at the many restaurants instead.
The hotel staff we fine and friendly (some to much), unless you had a problem in which they would pass you over to some of the younger less experienced staff who really didn't know what they were doing.
There wasn't really much entertainment, just a piano or small band in the al a carte restaurant.
I will be going to this hotel again but might try out a few others first.

| said: Hotel recently opened in June 2004.
Hotel was very clean apart from the pool area which did not get washed properly each evening. Had to pay for Sun Loungers and the Germans did not because they had wrist bands. Was told that they had a arrangement with their travel company.
Long queues for the food which meant lining up for 45 mins leaving 5 year old at table. Going out for meal the better option.
Hotel close to the beach. Location ideal.
The staff tried there best. It was the senior management who needed a kick.
Hopefully, things might be better next year once they have sorted themselves out.
Entertainment was not very good.
The Holiday Rep spent a grand total of 1/4 hr a day in the Hotel. This was when we were lining up for food.1915-1930hrs. When told of the food complaints she claimed it was the first she heard of it. This was because she tried her best to avoid the hotel.

| said: New hotel. We were on the ninth floor. No water betwen 5pm and 7pm.
Long wait for meals and same every day, chicken,veal, German sausage and fish in batter.
Ended up eating out. Breakfast same wait and again no variation in menu often no cups or glasses.
Hotel location fine but charged daily for sun loungers although German guests got wristbands and free beds.
Lift to ninth floor tended to stop at most floors even though nobody there.
Second year in Bulgaria but will not be going back for a while.

| said: When me and my family went to bulgaria i was not lookin forward to it at all. I heard bad things about it. The only thing we had wrong was whne we landed in bulgaria we were double booked we were meant to stay in the diamond hotel but we got moved to the marvel.
And I am so glad the marvel hotel was spotless and very very nice. The pool area was good and the staff were great with us. The rooms were stunning and air conditioned. I would definetly go back to the marvel hotel some year it was a fantastic holiday!!
