The Comfort Inn on Station St. just next to New Street station is perfectly positioned if you want a night out in Birmingham to see a show or just have a meal and a few drinks. We stayed there on the Saturday night and it was very good. When we arrived we thought how scruffy the Hotel looked from the outside but once inside that view changed as it was very clean and the desk clerk was very business like but friendly. We arrived at about twelve thirty and were allocated our room, even though the check in time was after two o'clock (pm), which was nice, then we went to the room. The room itself was very clean the en suite shower room was also very clean and there were good quality fresh towels. Tea and Coffee making facilities were plentyful and available in the room. The bed was very comfy and had obviously been made with some care. The only down side to the room was it was on the front of the Hotel and it was very noisy with the window open, this was not a problem as the weather was quite seasonal, but could be a problem in the summer, still what does one expect with a city centre hotel. The Reception desk is manned all night and the rooms have night chains on for security. The next morning we had the cooked breakfast (which was part of the deal) this was absolutely delicious as everything was cooked fresh once ordered there was also plenty of cerial, orange juice, ham and cheese if required. All in all for a City Centre 3 star hotel I would recommend it to you if you are going to Birmingham to see a show etc.
