I stayed at the Ice Hotel after winning a competition and what a fun place. There are two types of accommodation, the warm and the cold. The warm accommodtion is in wood lodges with under floor heating, the cold is in the Ice Hotel and guests stay in the Ice Hotel for one night. Warm artic clothing is provided by the ice hotel free. Temp was on the mild side when I was there between -3c and -8c in the daytime, but just a week earlier the temp wasn't getting above -30c.

The hotel is built every November and is always different each year. The suits are amazing and absolutely freezing inside, I was told in suits the temp is -15c. When guests stay in the ice hotel they are given lockers in the warm part of the ice hotel to keep their cloths because if they took them into the ice hotel bedroom they would freeze over night. There toilets and showers in the warm part of the ice hotel. I layed on a ice bed with reindeer skins over a foam matress, I could feel the could coming through. We didn't stay in te ice hotel even though we had a room booled because I had the flu while I was there so stuck to the warm accommodation. We used the Ice bar once where even the glasses are made of ice. Very expensive for a drink £17.50 a cocktail. The whole hotel is amazing.

The scenery where the ice hotel is locate is breath taking with mountains in the distance, the torne river where they cut massive blocks of ice to build the hotel which is about three times as wide as the thames in London and might be even wider. I rode a snow mobile on the frozen river and went on a dog sledges on the river amd also walked on the river.

We taken from the Airport by dog sleigh, I wouldn't do it again because you are well and truely shaken, it was not like I thought it would be all smooth because they have like road in the snow which get worn and bumpy. The biggest worry was hoping the dog poo didn't come up and hit you in the eye, all the dogs poo non stop at full pace on the whole journey, a bit smelly as well.

We went out to see moose on the moose safari, which went right into heart of the wilderness. The moose are much larger than I thought. They enjoyed just laying in the snow.

We went on snow mobil trip to see the northern lights, the snow mobile was my favorite part of the trip and would love to ride on again, they are noisy and would use ear plugs next time. Went to a cabin to have moose broth which tasted like a chill-con-corne to me.

We went on a reindeer excursion, we had smoked reindeer in a bread in the wig wam like tent, very smokey inside. I could of but didn't want to ride a reindeer sledge, guest were put on the sledge and they would wack the reinder on the hind quaters and it would fly off to only stop half way around.

Our last trip out was snow shoe walking up big hill. It was hard going waling up the hill even with the snow shoes with spikes in the bottom. I said to the tour guide the shoes didn't work very well because I was sinking foot into the snow with them on. She took her snow shoes off and sank around four foot into the snow. When we reached the top of the hill the guide said the only way down is on your bottom, that was a real laugh with a drop on the other side of you.

We used the ice restuarant and had smoked reindeer that is very tender, smoked artic char ice cream that tasted very strange, and few other strange tasting dishes. The best part of the meal was the mashed potatoe and the ice cream at the end. That was the set ice meal. Some of the plates and bowls were made completely of ice.

Would I go back and do it all over again yes at a drop of a hat, and hopefully the next time I won't get the flu two days before I travel, I did well though. Its the most fun weekend I have done, the time just flies. One day we started on trips at 9am and didn't get back to our room to 11pm.

Anybody who tries it won't be disappointed.

Just put ice hotel in google and tour ops who do the ice hotel be on there. You can check out the ice hotel at www.icehotel.com
