Basic but very clean. Excellent and very friendly staff made this hotel a real pleasure to stay in. Excellent choice for breakfast.

Hotel was very basic but very clean.
All the staff from management down were very friendly and helpful.
The food was to our satisfaction, as for entertainment there was none at the hotel when we stayed in 2002 and 2003 but there was plenty in the surrounding hotels

The rooms were not very clean and we had a toilet which was on constant flush throughout our first night.
Nothing was ever done about this although we discovered how to make it stop after a day or two. The noise from rowdy drunken guests also ruined our first week. Very worrying as the balcony door had no lock. Complaining to the staff was useless. The staff were very offhand at all times.
Asking to use the pool table was like asking them to smile! They watched the timer on the pool table light like hawks and if it went out, wether the game was ended or not, rushed over to get the balls and equipment. And accidental breakage of a drinking glass in our room was met with a fine of 6 lev!
We still go to Golden Sands but now stay in a much nicer hotel. The food was o.k. but better in the resort. Entertainment in the hotel was nil. Wild horse would not drag us back to the Tsaravets.
