AWFUL AWFUL hotel i have never seen a hotel like this in my life. The staff were rude and disgusting never changed their clothes.Very bad smell outside the lifts it smelt like smelly feet.Breakfast area disgusting table cloths never changed sour milk, moulded bread.Rooms had plug sockets hanging off walls, holes in bedlinen, smelly towels.Pool area was disgusting weeds, dust and dirt.Guests were expected to pay for sunbeds,a smelly pool attendant asked for the money looked like a tramp fron the streets.Would not go back to Bulgaria it is full of german lager loots, working girls on the street and drug dealers, not a place for a family holiday.Nothing cheap we found it very expensive for a family of four.We met some lovely guests in hotel they all had the same reviews as us the hotel needed knocked down, and did'nt know how this hotel is aloud to stay open.

the worst hotel we have ever set eyes on, the resort of Golden Sands is lovely with heaps to do and see day or night. the Hotel is grubby the staff are grubby and rude, the food is appaling, the rooms are dirty and cramped, we had no clean towel or bedding change in a whole week and had to ask for new loo roll. the restaurant is small with dirty table cloths chipped crockery and dirty glasses, the pool is clean but has weeds and broken slabs all around it with a life guard that looks like he needs resuscitation to rescue someone, and you have to pay for sunbeds, parasols and mats at your own hotel!! the hotel has 2 lifts to 10 floors although the hotel has 11 floors, one of the lifts was out of order all week, the lobby smells of dirty mops, the loos are tiled and slippy the staff do not crack a smile the beds are single beds with ripped stained filthy mattresses, the rooms are cramped and basic 2 beds and a table, the bathroom is small and the shower and loo are unkempt with dirty taps etc, the wardrobes were dirty and dusty, the electric sockets are hanging off the walls and still live, the balconies on the front of the hotel are not very safe the railings are loose, it is the very worst hotel I have ever seen and everyone that was with us said the same. the Varshava needs demolishing it is a very old dirty hotel and lets the resort down.
Breakfast comsists of toast on a toaster that takes 10 minutes, hard boiled eggs, chopped hot dogs, white cheese cubes, spag bol(probably yesterdays) fried potatoes and squash the meats are rubbery and fly ridden the milk is watered down and one cereal is available. it is disgusting, beware!

This has to be the worst hotel in Bulgaria !

We first got placed in a room on the corner with windows on both sides. This left it like a greenhouse with no air con. The room was that small that the beds were top and tail with no TV, Fridge, Kettle etc. I went to reception to say that we were a couple and we wanted a double bed so they moved us to a room which had 2 single beds put together. Again this had nothing in the room except a toilet and shower. Balcony is the smallest ever and you can't sit down facing the pool as you have no leg room at all unles you face sideways. I could not sleep at night because of how stuffy the room was and noticed when in the pool the next day that on the left hand side of the hotel there was new rooms which seemed to have the air con units to each room. I asked at recpetion and was given the answer "Oh yes these rooms have Air Con, Fridge and TV" I asked if I could move into one of these rooms and the manager after a few harsh words agreed but at a cost of £7 extra a day ! We moved into the new room which was a bit better with the air con but carpet was very dirty and shower had no holder. We accpeted this was the best we were going to get at this hotel and carried on. We met alot of nice english people and together we made the holiday between us by the pool each day.

The pool bar was very good and the price of beer was 2.50 levs which is about average. They also do some BBQ food which seemed to be very cheap to outside and was really nice for what you paid with burger being 3.50 lev. There was no entertainment on so we had to venture out each night. Staff were very dirty and smelt like they had a shower last month !!

Location is very good but you do get the noise late on at night but as long as you have a few beers you'll be ok. The cleaners cam in every day to empty bin and that was it we only got our sheets changed the night before we checked out as well as towels. We were also charged 3 levs a day to use the sunbeds in our own hotel which had weeds on all paving slaps. I would NEVER go back to this hotel again but will hope I meet the same sort of people on my next holiday.

NEVER AGAIN!Aoa.1st impressions-very basic.Rooms dirty and cramped .No storage space, had to leave clothes in suitcase under beds.Basin & toilet cracked.Linen and towels old and dirty, not changed regularly. Balcony unsafe & dirty. Breakfast & drinks disgusting. Poolside dangerous with sunken & broken flags. We were eventually forced out by the infestation of mice in our 3rd floor room. According to the rep they came in from the trees. Generally the staff were friendly, but the overall cleanliness & hygiene left much to be desired. The hotel is known to the locals as the dos house of vara. The balkan rep was quite helpfull & understanding of the situation.

Avoid at any cost. filthy cramped box rooms without necessary aircon, even more cramped combined toilet/shower - must remove toilet paper everything gets wet.

Shower water has smell of sewage. Unusable balconies unless you are much less that a metre tall.

Despite brochure most room do not have a sea view much less a spectular one.

Dirty threadbare towels & bedsheets with holes in we were there 2 weeks sheets changed once; towels 4 times.

Reception staff do their best in absolutely awful circumstances and are usually cheerful which is testament to the human spirit.

Kitchen staff mostly unhelpful & idle. Breakfast scrambled, bread, butter, jam, tomatoes, oranges & goats cheese ok and edible - usually have to ask for eggs and hot water as they only scramble 4 at a time so you wait and wait. Fruit juice just sugared coloured water, tea and coffee undrinkable. Must ask for hot water and its never hot. Cold meats not for human kind. Toaster in dining room just slowly toasts 4 pieces of bread at a time on the oldest toaster we have ever seen so you wait and wait as a queue grows.

We hired a fridge & kettle - the oldest friges on earth and must be seen as they are ancient converted wooden larders that in truth do not do their job we went through 4 until we got the only modern fridge in hotel - kettles do not work either we had to go down 10 floors with empty kettle where reluctantly staff gave us hot water despite the fact we paid to hire equipment.

The pool is fine but guests must pay for daily use of sunbeds.

Lunchtime soup is from a packet and the only entertainment is seeing the faces of guests who have just come back to reception having seen their so called rooms and the sheer horror on their faces as they complain to the anxious troubled looking manageress. And do not expect any aid from Balkan rep unless there is a chance to make a profit from you as they will cheerfully offer you an upgrade at several hundred pounds for 2 weeks.

Great location 10 mins from beach less to centre if this place does not put you off Bulgaria little short of neuclear attack will.

This hotel was filthy, the bathroom was a box, the door opened under the shower head, the shower head was covered with thick limescale, so much so that it was a thick greenish blue colour, the sink had brown stains on it.

The room was a shoe box with two single beds lined up against a wall, the fridge that you could rent was older than the hotel! the milk was watered down at breakfast and the toaster was as old as the fridges.

The hotel was built over 30 years ago so we have been told, The balcony, if you could call it that, looked out over the main road behind the resort.

Yes its cheap and it shows. We booked it thinking there was internet access as stated in the brochure, it turned out to be a booth on the street. Avoid at all costs. We complained and were told that we would have to pay an extra £200 each to be relocated by Balkan.

We ended up booking an apartment ourselves just outside the resort, The neshkov near varna, it had everything you could need from fridge to cooker to coffee maker to washing machine, and it was cheaper than the Varshava!! Oh yeh and it had air conditioning unlike the varshava, you need it when you are over there!

Bulgaria fantastic.

Shame about this hotel. Rooms cramped, stayed for one week had towels changed once and bed linen never changed. Only things cleaners did was empty bin and that was wasn't done every day.

Evening meal was average but menu was same every day. Will go to Bulgaria again but definitely not to this hotel.

The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly.

The hotel was at the top of a hill and I wouldnt recommend it for anyone with walking difficulties.

The beds are top to tail, the rooms are very very small, but like other people have said you only sleep in them and you get what you pay for.

This holiday was very cheap, so cant complain. The food wasnt bad, in fact we ate in the restaurant a couple of nights, basic but good value for money.

The pool bar served decent snacks and drinks. We wouldnt use this hotel again.

Myself and my boyfriend stayed at the Hotel Varshava for 2 weeks in July. The hotel is basic but clean.

Our sheets and bedding were changed every 3 days or so which we thought was fine.

The hotel staff were friendly and the pool was great for cooling off in.

The only complaint I have is that the breakfast wasn't very appealing - I'm used to continental breakfasts but the cheese and meat they served didn't appeal at all, however, the toasties and burgers sold at the poolside bar are recommended.

The hotel is in a great location, really near the beach, the main 'party' street with nightclubs and loads of restaurants and near the aqua park.

If, as we did, you only use your hotel room as somewhere to sleep and get changed then this is a great hotel - brilliant if you're on a budget!

Our family stayed at the Varshava hotel this year. It was reasonably clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. The maid coudln't speak a word of English though!

The food was terrible - we had to have breakfast elsewhere because most of it was continental and the kids would not eat it. The tea and coffee is not recommended in the restaurant but in the bar next to it the coffee is OK.

This hotel was old and it shows, the rooms were very basic with two single beds along one wall these were hard and well used, but you only sleep there, the on suite was out the arch.also the balcony wasn,t big enough to swing a cat.

But beside all this the hotel was very clean.considering there is eleven floors the lifts are well a box which goes up and downtight squeeze for four.

The hotel is very close to the main street but take care there are people there who you dont want get to know! the hotel staff are as helpful as possible but english needs to improve the food is basic brekki consists of bread, smelly meat, egg, boiled sausage the tea and coffee leave alone.

The only entertainment is the pool bar this is the place to drink

My family and I stayed in two rooms at the Varshava hotel for 2 weeks on a bed and breakfast basis. Although the hotel is old it is kept extremely clean and tidy after all a hotel room is only a place to sleep and we were not planning to spend our holiday in our room.

The staff were all very pleasant, friendly and trustworthy. Our towels and sheets were changed every other day but if requested at reception could be changed more regularly.

I have no complaints about the hotel as I believe you get what you pay for. We had an excellant holiday as the hotel is situated 10 minutes from the beach and 5 minutes from the shops and night life.

I am returning to Varshava again this year with my boyfriend as it is the perfect hotel for a young couple on a budget.

This hotel was the worst hotel I have seen. We arrived on Saturday the 28th August and on Sunday we spoke to the rep regarding the state of the hotel and that I was not going to stay another night and that I wished to be moved to another hotel.

Balkan holidays agreed to move us at a cost of £834.00 to us which we paid.

We stayed in Warshawa and what a state. The sheets got changed once on the 2 weeks we were there and the towels 3 times.

I have never been to a 2* hotel before that was this bad.

The floors although cleaned daily were still dirty.

The only person that were friendly were the currency exchange girls if we could have flown back on the week before we would have done.

I know you get what you pay for but I have paid a lot less than I paid for this holiday and stayed in better accommodation with staff that actually acknowledge you.

You pay for what you get at this hotel. It is one of the lowest priced hotels in the Balkans Brochure. We have just spent two weeks at the hotel and have no complaints, it is basic, the breakfast was adequate but the hotel is kept clean.

The maids kept the rooms clean, the bedding was changed every couple of days and so were the towels. The rooms were small but for a young couple like us it was just somewhere to sleep.

The location was fine but you could hear the music from the bars. The pool area was kept clean and tidy.

Again I would say you pay for what you get. We will be going back to Golden Sands but will pay the little bit extra for a bit more comfort.

We have just returned from 2 weeks holiday at the Warshawa Hotel, it was disgusting, the hotel wants a full revamp. The 'Restaurant' as they call it, was so anti-quaited, the crockery was dirty and chipped. The food was very Bulgarian, (not even continental) there was one toaster for at least 300 guests.
The lifts kept breaking down, they were so small there was only enough room in them for 4 adults at a squeeze.
The rooms were so tiny, 3 single beds in a room 12ft by 6ft (believe me.) The water kept going off because there was torrential storms and the drains couldn't cope with all the water (thats the reason we was told)
The maid did her best under the circumstances, the linen wasn't immaculate but it was changed quiet regular. The location of the hotel would have been ok if there hadn't been an open air disco on every night from 10pm until 6pm which was only a few hundred yards away. The staff didn't go out of their way to help, they didn't look as if they could be bothered half of the time. The only indoor entertainment was a pool table which you had to keep lifting up to get the white ball out, or a TV which you could watch in english if you could get hold of the remote control

The Varshava Hotel is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms are very small. The bedding and towels were old and full of holes. The bathroom was disgusting. The pool side was full of loose paving stones - it was an accident waiting to happen. The balcony handrail was loose. Walls were damp. Water ran out regularly. Cups were chipped and dirty. The family rooms are next to the lifts so you can hear the lifts going up and down all night. Just a total nightmare - if you have booked for this hotel then try and get your travel agent to change it for you !!!

Hotel is very dated. Needs major work done. Knocking down walls and making bigger rooms would be a start.
Towels are changed every four days but are so old and shabby that they need changed every day. So if you are visiting take your own. Linen is changed once a week and floors are cleaned daily. Shower is open style and toilet reveives a good clean while you shower. The balcony or ledge as I would call it is only suitable for drying clothes. Your are supplied with to plastic "Chairs" but if you sit on them you cannot see over the balcony that is if they do not collapse first. You pay extra for a seaview they fail to tell you that this is also the noisy side of the hotel and the resort parties on till morning arrives.
We where bed and breakfast food was plentiful but did not suit british tastes. Location was excellent near to beach restuarants shops etc., there is something to suit everyone. The pool was and adequate size but again was in need of a facelift. The water when we visited was murky and we tried not to put our heads under the water. We will not be visiting this hotel again.

Myself & my wife have just spent our fourth year at the Hotel Warshwa of which is over 40 yrs old,(3yrs with children) & have seen many improvements. The hotel staff (all departments) are very freindly, polite & helpful.
The hotel is kept very clean with an everyday maid service who also accept personal laundry for a very small charge.
The food at the hotel is good for what you pay for & the included breakfast is huge in variety (continental style). Multi choice ,so you ate what you wanted with no restrictions.
The Hotel Warshawa is situated to the rear of the resort resulting in a couple of hills to walk, but out of the way of hustle & bustle. A very good location for access to the rest of Golden Sands.
There is no live artists or entertainment at the hotel but the bar staff/waiters & waitreses are entertainment of there own right.

Hotel was very basic and past it;s prime. Rooms were very small, like prison cells with single beds both along the same wall end to end. Rooms were so small beds could not be put side by side. Apart from 2 beds there was only a little table with 2 drawers in it. The bathroom was very small, but the shower was excellent. The balcont lookes out onto the hill oposite with only trees to look at. The balcony was very small, which made sitting out impossible.

The towels provided were disgusting, I would not have washed my floor with them let alone use them for our personal use.

The food was terrible if you were British, there was plenty of food for European visitors, but very little for Brits to eat. Finding cups which were clean, not cracked or chipped proved very difficult on the 2 days we went for breakfast The location of the hotel was the only good thing about it. There was no entertainment at all the week we were there. The staff were friewndly enough, but did not speak enough english.

The hotel was showing it's age (20 yrs or so).Saying this though the hotel was kept scrupulously cleaned, with the care deserved of a much higher rated hotel.

Entertainment was poor, though the main resort is only minutes walk away - beach 10 mins.

Staff excellant and trustworthy - massage therapist very good and well used.

We would not visit the hotel again beacause for a little more money there are some lovely new hotels.

Didn't like - having to pay for sunbeds around the pool.
All in all though, great holiday
