| said: We found the bed to be very uncomfortable, extremely hard. (Why can't European hotel beds be like American ones? Never yet had a hard bed in the US.) Despite the room being booked as a 'triple' and the sofabed being made up, there were only towels for 2 people. A phone call to housekeeping to request another towel seemed to take forever for them to arrive. There was no hairdrier in the bathroom, which is odd for a 4 star hotel, and awkward since there was also no shower-cap!

| said: We stayed at the Sofitel for 1 night previous to a morning flight, check in was straight-forward and efficient, the lift system is a bit strange and can be time consuming. The rooms are spacious and comfortable especially the beds which sofitel prides itself on , the bathroom is clean modern and functional.
we had a drink in the bar which was comfortable and relaxing and the service was excellent, but decided to use a restaurant in the south terminal.
Check-out was easy and it only takes a few minutes to get to your flight check-in, the hotel is quite expensive but the price is justified by the covenience of its location.

| said: We stayed at the Sofitel Gatwick hotel for the one night prior to our morning flight to the USA. The hotel is within walking distance (under cover) of Gatwick’s North Terminal. The check-in process took no longer than 5 minutes. The rooms are suitably furnished with ample storage space for clothes and personal belongings. A safe is provided for the safe keeping of valuables. Although more dearer than other hotels in the Gatwick area, the convenience of virtually walking onto the plane makes it a good value for money option. Check-out in the morning is a breeze, with the room-keys being dropped in the box near to reception.
