Very good position on the lakeside, quiet hotel for sleeping,no passing traffic,or late night disruptions.
Hotel rooms clean but in need of another refurbishment!Food very limited for choice, and not very tasty,Pasta and pizza, continental breakfast again very limited.
This holiday was not a late booking, expensive for a 2 star hotel. All our party were very dissapointed,we were all looking forward to our lakeside holiday, but we would try Lake Garda again.

| said: The hotel was very clean and comfortable and situated right on the lake front so was in an ideal position. There were a few disappointments in that the brochure stated there was a safe and a hairdryer in the room and that any food bought from the hotels restaurant was with a 10% discount. None of these things were present.
We went half board so had breakfast and dinner at the hotel. The breakfast was fine with the usual offerings of croissants, bread rolls, ham, cheese, cereals and cakes etc.
The dinner was another matter all together. The choices offered were very limited to start with and were virtually the same every day with perhaps only one dish being changed. The amount of food wasn’t exactly generous but the quality left a lot to be desired. My husband ordered fried chicken one night and was presented with six chicken nuggets (bad quality ones as well ).
Another night we ordered grilled beef steak and got a very thin small piece of pork steak. The chicken breast in various sauces was again very thin and of a rubbery texture. The vegetables tended to be overcooked and the salads were dry and tasteless. Most of the pasta dishes were ok except for the carbonara.
Most of the staff didn’t seem very friendly but a couple of the waitresses who served on the lakeside terrace were very nice.
There was a singer two or three evenings a week. He was an American who sang a wide range of music and was very enjoyable to listen to.
All in all we would definitely go back to the hotel but only on a bed and breakfast basis

| said: The Ancora is situated on the edge of the pedestrian area, only metres from the lake. Our room was a very spacious studio, situated on the first floor. It was excellently furnished, we even had a four poster bed.
The food and service from all members of staff was excellent.
We will definitely stay here, if we return to Riva and highly recommend it to other travellers.
