| said: My partner and I stayed at the George Hotel for two weeks during September 2007 and had a pretty good time.
The hotel is nice, although not quite as good as we'd expected given other reviews we had read prior to our visit - the rooms are kept clean, but are very small even by Greek standards. Once you've put your cases on the floor there is not a lot of room to walk around, as most of the floor space is occupied by the twin beds and wardrobe.
On the plus side, the room did have a small TV with several channels available (including BBC World), a telephone, hairdryer and optionally air-conditioning (at an extra charge).
The other downside of the hotel is that it is quite a walk from the beach, being at the back of the resort just off the main road into Golden Beach. It's a good 10 minute walk onto the beach, and about 5 minutes to the nearest supermarket and tavernas, although most of the tavernas are located at the other end of the resort, so for a selection of places to eat you must walk about 15 minutes.
This isn't strictly about the hotel, but anyone visting Golden Beach MUST be aware of the dire wasp problem that plagues the resort! (See my resort report for more info).

| said: The George Hotel is a small and family run establishment. Stavros and Karen make you feel extremely welcome and treat you like friends rather than guests.
The rooms are spotless and air conditioning is available.
Even breakfast is marginally better than other similar small Greek Hotels. There is nice bar and terrace here where most of the guests congregate after eating out at one of the local tavernas.
The only slight minus is that the fabulous beach is about 12 minutes walk as the hotel is at the back of this lovely small resort.
Best suited all round to couples of all ages wanting a relaxing a quiet holiday.We can highly recommend it here.
