My husband and I have recently reluctantly returned from an 8-night stay at the Iberostar Paraiso Grand. We have previously stayed at the neighbouring sister hotels (four times to the Paraiso Del Mar and once each to the Lindo and Maya, where we got married in Oct 2006) but promised ourselves that when we returned it would be to the Grand. So glad we made ourselves that promise!

We loved our stay at the Grand and could find nothing negative. The staff were all friendly and attentive. The rooms were beautiful and kept spotlessly clean. We found the services of the butler excellent and the concierge made all our restaurant reservations on arrival.

The food at the Grand was excellent - we ate at all four a la cartes, with our favourite being the surf and turf. We didn't enjoy the Italian. We also made reservations for the L'Etoile French restaurant (Maya) and the El Museo Gourmet (Lindo) and these two meals were exceptional. At both, we were able to choose wine from the wine list uncharged rather than have house wine as Grand guests.

We visited the other Paraiso hotels during our stay for the odd lunch and wander around but always rushed back to the relative peace and tranquility of the Grand. We visited the Shopping Centre a couple of times and enjoyed the included food outlets there, especially the crepes/ice cream and the tacos, which made a nice change from the gourmet fare at the Grand.

We tended to use the main pool at the Grand as it was rather windy during our stay at the end of October for the beach. The service at the pool area was excellent. We tend to go on an all-inclusive holiday 3 or so times a year but I have never before experienced having towels, books, magazines and suncream delivered whilst lying by the pool!

Overall, we had a fantastic stay and will definitely return to the Grand sometime in the future. The only downside to our stay was that we feel that the Grand spoilt us for future stays elsewhere and that we will always be unfavourably comparing hotels with the Grand!
