| said: Stayed at the Pelagos aparthotel Self catering. The Rooms were cleaned each day and bedding changed, the rooms were spotless. We didn't sample the food as we enjoyed eating away from the apartments however each day they had a theme night i.e mediteranean, chinese, greek etc which was eat as much as you like for 12 euro's. The location was a little way out it took us 45 minutes to walk to Kos Town but only 10-15mins to cycle it. Reception staff and cleaners were really friendly. Didn't sample the entertainment, main reason being we found the bar very expensive (6 euros for a mythos + sprite!) so had a few drinks on our balcony instead. One nice touch is that each day a newsletter is put under your door with the days events, evening meal Theme and the weather. We enjoyed our stay at the Pelagos.

| said: I cannot recommend the Pelagos highly enough it is simply the best place I have ever stayed in on holiday & I would not hesitate to re book (& I am REALLY fussy about where I stay!)
ROOMS - We had a 1 bedroom apartment for ourselves & our 2 teenage daughters. It was pristine clean, very spacious & very well set out. It was cleaned every day to a very high standard & had a nice view of the sea & Turkey beyond. One small quibble - we were in block 6 which backed onto the playground & some people let their very loud kids scream away on the playground at 7am....there should be a not before 9am rule for the sake of those near to the playground!
The big patio doors have mozzie screens so you can let the cool night air in without letting the beasties in too.
Small fridge, but we ate out anyway!
A few problems with the air-con, but they had workmen in trying to sort it out. It was nicer just to keep the windows open anyhow.
Nice big bed in our room, but it was as hard as sleeping on the floor! This became such a problem (Hubby's back hurt) that we spoke to reception & the put a big sot topper onto it. They said they have lots of comments from Brits that the beds are hard!
They pop an info newsletter (in English) under your door every day with the days predicted weather forecast, the entertainment for the night & any special restaurant things on, which was a really nice touch.
GROUNDS & POOL - Superb. Beautifully maintained & set out grounds - paths mopped every day by the cleaning team. Lovely trees & plants all around the grounds & pool. Heaps of sunbeds, comfy ones too (in fact I sourced them in the UK & have now bought a couple for my garden!)
Gorgeous pool, about 6 ft deep in middle. Also bubble pool & kiddie pool.
Good little supermarket downstairs & also a gift shop which sells really good, very small pop out maps of Kos for E1
AMBIANCE - Again, brilliant. Lots of German, Swedish & Dutch people who were lovely. Our one problem was with a rude British bunch who dumped our towels from our sunbeds onto the floor while we were at the bar. Very chilled atmosphere.
Staff provide tea & biscuits at 4pm & also come around with fruit (apricots or watermelon) for you during the day.
STAFF - "Bill" the barman, Chucky & George on the entertainment team & Katerina in the restaurant are all lovely & make you feel like not only a guest but a friend.
Reception staffed 24 hours, which was useful when we had a problem with a group under us at 4am. One useless girl on reception who we called “Don’t know” as that’s all she seemed to say, but everyone else very good & very knowledgeable.
FOOD OPTIONS - Very nice meals in restaurant if you don't feel like going out. They have theme nights every couple of days – Greek, Italian, BBQ etc. Reasonable prices too & you can tot it up to a room bill to pay at the end of your stay. The house white is very good!!! Breakfast is also well worth the few Euros it costs.
KOS TOWN - A really nice little square with a couple of good streets for shopping & eating."OTTO E MEZZO" & "THE OLIVE" are especially good. Also try Sunsets in Lambi, which we found to be very good. We didn’t have a bad meal our whole time in Kos & the house wine was always very nice.
KOS ISLAND - The water park is good & was almost empty. E17 for adults E12 for children under 12.
Do visit the mountain town of Zia....its gorgeous.Nice restaurant at the end of the village with wonderful views, but it get a bit windy! The Island is much prettier down the far end beyond Kefalos & up into the mountains.
