| said: We arrived at the Ayaz early morning. We had to go down two lots of steps to our room, which was in the older part of the Hotel.
The room was basic but clean. Two beds, large wardrobe, two sets of drawers and a sofa bed. The bathroom was adequate, good shower with plenty of hot water. Our balcony overlooked the car park and restaurant, and beyond that the pool.
What a pool it was. Lovely, with plenty of loungers and cushions. There was a jacuzzi at one end of the which everyone enjoyed - and I mean everyone - the pool area was open to the public, so that made it quite noisy at times. But that didn't stop us from enjoying it.
Lots of the people staying at the Ayaz were Dutch, but we soon made friends as most of them spoke some English.
The food was quite good, a bit like AI without the drinks. There were two hot meat dishes with veg. most nights. The soup was A1, every night a different one. And the salad bar was second to none. We only ate out one night during the two weeks we were there.
We bought lunch at various places, but the pizzas at the Ayaz were very good, as were their steak or chicken on a bun.
Couldn't fault the staff, very helpful and friendly.
The hotel was right on the beach between the Sami Beach Hotel and the Parkim Palace.
There was entertainment most nights, but it was just the usual belly dancer etc. Not our cup of tea for every night, so we found a nice little bar nearby, The Corner Pub. Run by a very nice turkish family.
On the whole we enjoyed the hotel, but wouldn't like to stay there, or in Gumbet during high season.
The hotel's best feature is it's pool area. The rooms in the newer part were - we were told - better and larger than the one we were in. So maybe it's pot luck as to which you get.
Don't think we will go back to the Ayaz, but that is only because it is in Gumbet.
It was a very good value holiday.
