| said: Very nice hotel, Staff were very helpful with good english. The pools were clean and well maintained which kept the kids busy for hours on end. My only gripe is that the bar prices and the local market prices were a little steep but this would not deter us from staying there again.

| said: Apartments are basic but clean. Rooms are spacious and balconies have good panaramic views of the area.
Entertainment is available most nights and staff are friendly. Bar prices for both food and drinks are reasonable and pool bar snacks are excellent.
The apartments are situated on a hill at the back of Albufeira but are only a ten minute walk into the main areas, far enough away to avoid the noise but near enough for easy reach of both the old and new town entertainment. The apartments run a bus service into all areas of the resort and are every half an hour. Tickets are bought at reception and are approx 2 Euros for a return ticket.
The complex has two outdoor pools and an indoor pool which are all maintained well. A small gym is on offer for the sad people that wish to keep fit instead of eating drinking and being merry.
Mini golf, supermarkets, and a hair salon are all available on site.
If like us you need a taxi to the airport, the apartment reception will book you a minibus which is about £15 cheaper than getting a local taxi - but it does pick up at other accomodations.

| said: From the outside the hotel looks like an inner city tower block but do not be fooled.
Rooms are large and well decorated, kitchen facilities are clean and modern and the views are fantastic.
There are three pools to choose from plus an additional kiddies pool, all spotlessly clean with enough sun loungers to accommodate everyone.
Town is a 10-15 minute walk away so close enough to visit but far enough away to have a little peace and quiet.
The shops on complex sell everything you could need to enjoy your holiday, from breakfast cereal to lilos and swimwear all at very reasonable prices.
The only downside to the complex were the drink prices at the pool and evening bar. They are higher than in town at home and as a family it can make it a very expensive holiday.
Prices aside, we would re visit these apartments again, as the surroundings and the lovely staff made it one of the best holiday ever.

| said: The Apartments Janelos do Mar were very clean, and had every amenity you would want. Supermarket, souvenir and paper shop. 3 pools including 1 indoor pool. Games:- pool table, mini golf, tennis courts. Kid’s small playground. Snack bar. Pool side bar. Bar were entertainment is on every night.
Location. (In Montechoro the new part of Albuferia) we thought fantastic. It was about 10 mins to strip (where main bars and restaurants and shops are). Head out of apartments follow the road down until you get to a dual carriage way. Go straight across, you will reach a round about. Continue straight ahead on to some waste land, turn right which takes you down the strip and towards the beach. As you continue down the strip it is only a further 10-15 mins to beach.
The hotel provides a shuttle mini bus which drops you off on the strip and takes you to the old town. It is 2.50 euros (about £1.75) for all day. From 10am - 8.30pm. There is also a 'Wally train' which leaves the strip dropping you off at the old town. From 9am - 1am. It's only 2 euros for one ride. Under 5's and over 65's free. And 3 euros for all day. As many times as you like.
Or a taxi in the early hours back from the old town (one way). Is only 5 euros (£3.60).
I recommend going to the old town day and night. There is so much going on in the main square. Some beautiful restaurants and some nights some great entertainment.
Our holiday was brilliant. The location of the apartments were on a quiet spot. Not too far from the main strip.
We had excellent meals while we were away. And the place is absolutely beautiful. Especially along the beach. Where you can walk from Albuferia new town to old town via the beaches and cliff walks.
There are some small hills around but nothing too strenuous. There is a little hill which leads up to the apartments.
We went to Zoo marine which is a great day out and we were there for 6 hrs. We went with tour rep as that was the cheapest way of getting there and it cost 23.50 euros each (£17). If you like dolphins, sea lions and owls and parrots etc, there is also a small kid’s amusement area with rides including a BIG wheel.
I would recommend these apartments to anyone. They had everything we needed. We had a great holiday. And I am sure you will too. Having traveled to over 23 different places around the world. I highly recommend these apartments and albuferia too. For couples, groups and families.

| said: We stayed here for 14 nights, we found the hotel staff very accommodating and very nice.
The rooms were fairly basic but that was represented in the price that we paid, we had everything that we needed and all facilities were close by.
There was nothing wrong with the rooms and the ladies even rolled through a cot for our young son in case he may have needed it.
Nothing was ever a problem for the desk staff. It is a little way 'up' from the beach and main resort, but it is easily walk-able and actually not a bad thing as there is no late night noise.
The on-site supermarket stocked everything that we needed and meant that even self catering, we didn't have to transport goods very far.
I will visit again.

| said: Stayed in this hotel on a late deal. When we arrived at the hotel it was early morning, 7am, we then had to wait until 1pm to get in to our room.
The entire hotel is old and worn, the lifts have graffiti on them and the rooms are extremely old and worn.
When we arrived in the room the first thing we wanted to do was have a shower, water running from every tap was brown and remained a murky colour for the remainder of the week! The sheets on the bed were worn, to the point of having holes in and there was a hole in the door which we could see through, the door was also extremely difficult to lock!
Needless to say we tried to find the First Choice rep to see if we could change the room, she was nowhere to be found, we therefore found the First Choice offices and the lady there told us that we could not, we would have to stay a couple of days and if we still weren't happy she would then 'consider' changing our room/hotel!
On the plus side the evening entertainment is ok.
The pool are is clean and quite nice. You are close to the Strip, approximately a 10 minute walk. You are about a 30 minute walk to the Old Town.
However the Algarve is lovely. Really enjoyed the area, would definitely visit the Algarve again, but definitely not this hotel!
