| said: Vistited this hotel for the first time over the Easter period. We were advised that some rooms were being refurbished prior to our departure and offered cancellation, but it was confined to one corridor and wasn't a problem. Our rooms were modern and clean with excellent views poolside.
Really nice, spacious reception and conservatory area, very clean.
Food was average, being vegetarian you expect to get less choice, but there were usually dishes with Chickpeas or rice/bean dishes.
Piano bar well worth a visit to see the talented Saxophonist/pianist part of duo, a real gem.
Hairdresser was a real let down to my elderly Mother, she 'forgot' her appointment and showed no sign of care or concern. Constantly displayed a 'back in 10 minutes' sign.
Having just read the previous reviews I would say this hotel has improved considerably and will continue to do so.

| said: We have been staying at the 'Princess' annually since about 2000/2001.
The hotel is spotless, the staff are friendly, the food is good but not as varied as it used to be. However, the 'Princess' has become a tired old dowager and no amount of a make-over will cover the cracks.
There are discoloured ceilings where the water has come in through the flat roof, fittings hanging out of ceilings, holes in walls where items have fallen off or have been removed, plaster has fallen off in places and the damage not made good before the paint was slapped on and more worryingly I saw quite large cracks in some walls & supporting pillars.
The furniture & fittings are old & tired with the bottoms hanging out of them (They still have the same cushions as they had 8 years ago except that they are now thin and tired).
Carpets are worn through to the flooring underneath and black where drink has been spilled in many places in the bars & entertainment rooms.
Rooms are being refurbished - during our stay (we were on the ground floor) the floor above was being worked on with drills & hammers being used from 8am until 6pm - not too bad if you were out all day but awful in the room itself. (Thomsons never warned us about it).
I had a quiet look at the work one night and they appear to be ripping out the marble floors & replacing them with ceramic tiles !!!!
The hotel itself is very 60's in it's decor and to be honest I now feel that it no longer merits its 4star status - it might just make a 3star on a good day.
Sadly - we will not be returning.

The entertainment is the same as you would get in any hotel - seen one seen them all! Having said that there are plenty of other places to go within easy walking distance, and the team do work very hard.
Didn't use the kids club as our child is too old but all the little ones seemed to enjoy it.

| said: Bearing in mnd we has stayed at the Barcelo hotel in Fuerteventura whih was excellent we therefore had some reservations based on some of the previous reports.
On arrival the chck in was OK but we were sent to the wrong part of the hotel for our room and the keys weren't activated. However the room (no 68) was spot on, we were in a ground floor room with a ptio and wall whgich was good for kids safety. It overlooked the pool and had the sun all afernoon. If your room was on the other side then you would be in the shade all afternoon.
The kiddies pools were heated but the main ones were cold. Plenty of sunbeds and the little kiddies play area was OK as was the crazy golf. Pool bar was good and the barman very helpful on local info. we booked half board and overall the food was good but breakfast hot food was basically deep fried. Evening meals were varied and of good quality. We had a wider choice at the Barcelo hotel. We never saw the evening entertainment as it started at 9.30 which for the kids was too late. The hotel location for the beach is excellent with a supermarket and bars, the walk to the main resort was about 15 mins and a good range of shops, bars and restaurants. It is worth the 20 min walk to the new marina area as it has its merits.
Overall not bad considering we had some reservations.

| said: Location is very good only 5 Min's from nice sandy beach and not far out of town. Food was very good on Christmas day and staff work very hard and most had a smile for the guests. Entertainment could do with improving as the music in the piano bar was just the same 2 guys who never spoke to each other or the hotel guests all week, the music they played was good but no communication. On Christmas night the carols was fun as they played the first few notes then started again but some of the guests started singing right from the first notes, we found this to be so funny with the words on the song sheet well not quite the right words as well it kind of like a comedy sketch but like I said we had a good time. Would ask for a room away from the night club next time as it would be a big problem with the noise. Some rooms are being done up and that could be good as our room was clean but very date with the tv not much use and the radio kept making funny noises even in the middle of the night when not in use. We found that the hotel had far to many children that were a problem at meal times for some of the other guests. Hotel entertainment team needs better training as waiting to play most of the games took far to long.

| said: We have just come back from this hotel and we had a great time, although we looked on 'holiday truths' before we went and we were unsure what we were getting ourselves into!
We are used to going to 4/5 star hotels twice a year and this year we decided to squeeze in one last holiday before Christmas. We hadn't visited this hotel before and we thought the hotel is upto a 4 star standard, it is an old hotel but you can see that it has had a 'face lift' in many areas, we booked a family room, which was very clean and airy and had light coloured wooden floors (warmer underfoot), large flatscreen tv and a huge double balcony with two sun loungers and a table and 4 chairs, which overlooked the main pool, I think we must have had one of the modernised rooms as it was a lovely room, quite trendy and spacious too.
The dining area was also very clean, light and airy, the food was good, it could probably do with a little more choice, but overall it was ok for the 1 week we stayed there.
The location is perfect, close to the town and in easy reach of the local doctors, chemist and dentist (not that we needed any of them) some great shops and a saturday market which overlooked a beautiful harbour.
The staff were excellent in all areas, the mini and maxi club teams kept our 10 year old and 6 year old entertained all holiday (first time our children had wanted to go to the clubs ... they loved it) they had plenty to do with a wide variety of activites every day .... very well organised.
The entertainment was good in the evening, although we have seen a couple of acts before, we still enjoyed them.
We would visit this hotel again, it seems they are getting their act together and modernising the place. The time of year that we went was perfect too, it was nice and relaxing with a good mix of couples and families and the weather was perfect all week, what more can you ask for.

| said: Ok - here goes....
Hotel is in need of refurbishment - I would estimate that it is about 15 years old and was probably very grand then but it is looking tired now.
Don't think we were in a refurbished room although it was ok. Quite roomy - ample room for 2 single beds and a camp bed. We also had 2 double wardrobes that was very handy - although the other family we were with only had 1. Daily maid service and bedding and towels were changed regularly.
Pool area was good - with plenty of sun loungers - there really was no need to get up at the crack of dawn to reserve one! For 60 cents per day you could hire a mattress and a beach towel. Have to say though the unheated pool was far too cold. On overcast days the pool remained virtually empty as it was unbearable - even for the kids.
Restaurant - word of advice - if you don't want to stand in a long queue waiting for a table to be cleared try and get there as early as you can. Evening meal started at 7.00pm. By 7.40 there would be a queue waiting outside and yet there would be numerous tables inside waiting to be cleared - probably could do with more staff. ( This applied to breakfast times too ).
Variety of food was good although meat was not always cooked for as long as I would like it to be ( steaks were always rare and pork looked a little pink for my liking ). One thing that was very off putting for our party was the number of chipped and cracked crockery and also virtually all of the serving dishes had big chunks out of them - not very hygenic!! You also had to check the underside of your plates as quite often they were still covered in food - not what you expect from a 4* hotel.
Entertainment was ok. The mini club was brill. Both children in our party enjoyed going to both the morning and afternoon clubs where lots of activities were arranged for them. There was also daily adult activities although we did not participate. Evening entertainment was a kids mini disco followed by either a 'professional act' ( or not as the case may be!!! ) or the hotel entertainers put on their own shows. These were often better than the brought in acts and they all worked very hard at keeping guests entertained. One thing we did find off putting though was if you got to the bar before the entertainment started the entertainers would come and sit with you for a chat. This was ok the first couple of nights but by the end of our holiday we found ourselves avoiding the bar before the entertainment started to stay away from them. They had obviously been briefed to do this but to be honest they started to become a nuisance!!! The bar could definateley do with more waiters as most nights there were only 2 or 3 serving the tables. At busy times they could have done with double this.
Music in the piano bar was very loud and for the first time ever I found myself having to ring reception to complain and ask them to lower it - and we were on the second floor.
All in all our holiday was ok. Unfortunately for us the weather could have been better but Playa Blanca is beautiful and the hotel is in an ideal location. Is the hotel worthy of it's 4* rating? Not sure really. We always stay in Thompson rated 4* hotels and I think it is fair to say that this is the worst one we have stayed in. Would we return - only if we got a really good deal and the price was right!

| said: The hotel is lovely and big and we did get lost a few times!. always kept nice and clean, such a shame though as the rooms are desperately in need of refurbishment. Our room which was 2 beds and 1 camp bed was clean but very "tatty". my mum and my sister's rooms were singles and very very nice and modern. Im my opinion the walkways were a bit dull and the rooms desperately need re modernising. I did complain about our room after seeing my mum's and my sisters but was told that only single rooms and family rooms were the re modernised one's. how true this is I do not know. Talking to a lady who had the same type of room to me she said that she had a modern room. can't complain though as the food was excellent, entertainment a bit dull, suggest maybe a karaokee, quiz and disco night. at least there was something, been to some hotels and there is nothing. Location is good, near the beach and shops. the staff were lovely, especially the bar staff, our favourite was a young lad that worked in the bars, so nice and friendly. can't fault the staff at all. I would go back after a few years when I knew the modernisation had taken place.

| said: Our party of 3 adults and 2 children, aged 13 & 7 spent two weeks H.B. at the Princess, (16/07/ to 26/07)...with VERY little to complain about, when comparing it to other hotels we had previously used. The staff continually keep it very clean, as do the room staff who constanly change sheets, towels, etc. regularly. Waiting staff continually attend to you in the restaurant/s and the bars. A variety of meals were constantly available, to suit most tastes...especially on the carvery...both at breakfast and dinner.
One word of warning though....be sure to check that any chicken pieces cooked on the carvery are really well cooked through. I showed some uneaten, badly cooked pieces to the head waiter, who promptly advised the cook to cook it for longer. All other carvery roasts were delicious.
One other complaint was to the chief waiter in the outside "La Choza Restaurant", next to the pool, regarding a rather limp and improperly cooked pizza. He said that no charge would be made and gave us a free drink in compensation. Fair enough!
Usually lots to do for the 'kids' if they wish to participate. Evening entertainment in the 'Papagayo Night Club/ Dico Bar is a bit ameaturish....but after a few beer, who cares!!! Hic.!
The hotel is in an excellent position for both town and beach and are accessed via a gate at the 'rear' of the hotel, (using your room keycard).. beyond the pool area..... If you need advice, look for Michael, the very cheery porter.
Morning papers, water, etc. can be had from the small supermarket across the road. The town it'self has a fair variety of shops both on the main street and promenade.
I might not offer the hotel the full 4*, but it comes very close. All members of our party thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Princess.
We would not hesitate in using the Princess again....Go on...give it a try.

The entertainment was not brilliant but the kids liked it would definitely go back if we went to Lanzarote with no hesitation.
Room was a good size a family one overlooking the pool (which is cold). Weather could have been better cloudy and windy some days but then again when the sun came out it was really hot. The beach is great and very clean and safe.

The restaurant had a great choice for both breakfast and dinner. Lunch time snacks are readily available from the poolside restaurant.
The location is perfect as it in between the Marina, and the town centre, with a sand beach on it's doorstep. There are plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance.
The only downside was the temperature of the pool. With it being unheated it does take your breath away but it was not a major problem.
If we were to go back, we would most likely go back as it was excellent value for money

| said: I have stayed at the Lanzarote Princess three times previously and always enjoyed my stay. I was sorry to see the hotel in need of refurbishment.
The room I was given was fine but in the bowels of the hotel, the terrace was dirty with peeling paint on all walls. The bath had ants in it and had a big chip that was partly filled but with rust coming through. The room was however refurbished, so lots of storage space.
The grounds were clean and tidy. The pool had paint peeling off the bottom so was reluctant to get in as didn't want to cut my feet.
Food was always very similar in the evening but breakfast always good. Be wary when putting down the ticket to pay for your drinks during the evening meal other people will take them and put their drinks on and charge them to your room!
The staff are not friendly like they used to be. Its a shame that the refurbishment is slow and at our cost not theirs by shutting it down for a while.

These are all on the ground floor, are slightly bigger than standard, and are more modern than the standard rooms. It is worth renting a fridge for the room, which you can stock with your own drinks. Food great, staff great - entertainment so so. To summarise - we have been twice and will be going back again !

.
Excellent location just outside Playa Blanca. No noise but convenient. However the back gate is locked for some reason at 7pm so its an extra 5 mins to town. Back gate operates on swipe card anyhow so why is it not 24 hours?
Hotel food just gets an OK for 4 star. Variable sometimes Head waiter is on the door to show you to a table other times you find your own and clear the old plates away. Reasonable choice and quality of food but certainly nothing special.
Entertainment? Well we went in January and had the luxury of sunbeds whenever we liked! Assuming weather was Ok of course. Kids mini disco every so often, pianobar open each night which was actually not too bad assuming you are 60 plus.
Still we both enjoyed this hol and felt comfortable

| said: I booked a suprise holiday for my family as it was my husbands fortieth birthday. After reading some of the negative reviews (after I'd booked) I was a little apprehensive to what we would find. So I was more than pleasantly suprise to find that the hotel was excellent.
We were allocated a lovely family room, that was clean and modern in decor and very spacious, we had clean towels daily and maid came daily too. The hotel was of an excellent location for the shops, bars, and beach and as my husband enjoys scuba diving he had only a short walk to find one that catered for his needs.
The hotel staff were professional but friendly but the hotel entertainment team is what made the holiday for our children, they were kept amused for most of the day with many daily activities, tennis, football, golf etc. The shows in the evening were great fun and they got the audience involved and we had such a good laugh.
We had lovely weather and the pool although cold at first, soon warmed up once you started swimming.
The restaurant was spacious and had a good daily choice of food with speciality nights weekly.
I would definitely book this hotel again, we had a fantastic week and made more special by the hotel with little touches as a bottle of bubbly in our room on my husbands birthday, and our table for our evening meal covered in birthday confetti and balloons.
I can honestly say that we all agreed that this is one of the best holiday's that we have had.

We were moved the next day to a higher level but the room was very dated and tatty, the reception area was leaking as they had just had some heavy rain and they had towels on the floor soaking up the water, the food was very boring and repetitive , the pool was very cold.
We dont normally drink in the hotel bar but as the weather was bad we decided to have a glass of sangria in the piano bar, a big mistake. The glass had so much fruit and ice in it that it didnt leave much room for the Sangria.
The only good thing about our stay was that they had an offer on that you could change to the Rubicon Palace
this we did after 5 days and it saved our holiday , the Princess was a lovely hotel in its day ,but we will not be going back.

| said: This was our second visit. (we went same half term last year) The only reason that we made a return visit was its location within the resort and the promise from the hotel management that we would get the room of our choice following our complaints last year. The hotel is still undergoing room refubishments, we had asked for a refurbished room on an upper floor. We didn't get a refurbished room but it was overlooking the pool and Fuerteventura.
The hotel really does not live up to its 4 star standard the unrefurbished rooms are extremely dated and very tatty so too are the bathrooms, whilst the rooms were kept clean they still felt grubby.
The hotel really needs to be closed down for a period of time and some serious money spent on bringing it up to the quality and standard it really deserves.
From the Reception to the restaurant to the poolside it all needs attention.
The restaurant is not a pleasant dining experience there is no atmosphere, just to dim the lights a little, put a candle on the table in the evening, some background music would help. It really is like sitting in a motorway services or staff canteen. The food is okay! On a possitive note the Staff work really hard to keep the turnover of guests moving and the replenishment of food is fairly good more so in the evenings than breakfast.
The Reception does have a communication problem between themselves, what one member of staff advises you in the morning is different to that of the evening staff, this was a problem last year as well as this year.
The pool area is kept clean and tidy. The pool is not heated which we found uncomfortable, as Lanzarote is an all year round resort the hotel should consider heating the pool from October as it does not have an indoor pool as an alternative if the weather is a little chilly, which unfortunately we did find this year.
The Animation team during the day seemed enthusiastic but we didn't partake in any of the entertainment therefore are unable to comment.
The hotel is in such a great location in Playa Blanca just across the road from a nice beach and central to walk to the harbour or to the new marina its just such a shame that H10 are taking so long to bring the hotel up to date. We did note that the hotel did not seem as busy as the same time last year, maybe the fact that the quality of the hotel is not as it should be and that guests are choosing to go elsewhere such as us next year.

| said: This hotel is definitely not a four star hotel, when we arrived we had hardly any assistance from the hotel staff. When we found our room it was not up to standard at all!!
Bathroom was dirty and needed a refurb badly and we had a view of the public toilets from our balcony. I then found we had a huge ants nest stopping with us as well!
When I went to reception to complain she said she couldn't help and we would have to come back in the morning to complain!
I went down in the morning they weren't much help either, after about half an hour of being ignored and passed around to other people I finally got them to move us but they said it would be the following day, which we had to except.
Eventually we got moved to a slightly better room. The food was nice but a bit repetitive after a while, the pool was OK but very busy and noisy alot of children not a hotel for couples wanting a quiet break!
The back gate got locked at 7pm which takes you to the town and shops, won't be coming back again.

| said: I read many reviews on this hotel and was becoming slightly concerned. Here is my honest review.
The hotel is older compared to others in the area but it is very clean. I do not know whether my room was a refurbished one or not but it was acceptable to us.
It was a very large room we had two single beds put together as a double, another single bed and a cot and two sets of double wardrobes. There was still plenty of room to move about in the room.
The staff I had dealings with were very pleasant and the food in the restaurant is very good. There are 4 themed evenings a week. Bearing in mind we went in August I never had a problem getting seated for breakfast or dinner and unless you wanted specific sun beds, you could always find one.
The location of the hotel is excellent. I did think the animation team were quite poor compared to other hotels I have been to and I did not think there was the correct entertainment for my son. He is 7 and found the games for his age too young and when he tried to join the maxi club - to play football, the animation team were not keen.
I did not think the evening entertainment in the hotel was particularly great - the best night was a drifter's tribute night - they were very good. Be warned though if you get a room facing the shops - ask to be moved as there is a club that has people coming out of it between 2am-5am and sometimes there is a lot of noise including bongo drums one night at 5.30am. I was not too pleased.

| said: This was our first visit to Lanzarote and we were a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews for this hotel.
On arrival at reception we were given a warm welcome and the porter soon explained the key areas of the hotel and showed us to our room.
We found the reception area to be very light & spacious with adjoining cocktail bar with plenty of comfortable seating.
Our room was spacious for the 3 of us and had a side sea view (we were expecting a plain inland outlook) and all facillities as per brochures.
Dining room was well managed with only a short wait at peak times, you are quickly found a table and drinks orders are taken almost straight away. There was always an excellent choice of food available to cater for all tastes and a plentiful supply available until 22:30.
The hotel was in a very good location with shops, bars and restuarants all close by and the nice sandy beach just a short stroll across the road.
Drink prices in the hotel were often cheaper than out in the bars etc, 'happy hour' (17:00-18:00) was quite popular and excellent value!!
The entire complex was kept spotlessly clean.
All staff were very polite & helpful, the waiting staff especially, work very hard doing an excellent job - with drinks orders satisfied with minimal wait even at busy times.
The relaxed cocktail bar had piano & sax' entertainment every night which was good and a more lively atmosphere could be found in the Papagayo bar, which also catered for children. This entertainment whilst good didn't go on very late.
Overall we all thoroughly enjoyed our week here and wished we had booked for 2 weeks.
We will return to Lanzarote in the future and would make this hotel as our first choice.

| said: The reception was a bit of a dissapointment compared to other 4star hotels we have visited in the Canaries.
This hotel needs to complete its refurbishment. Our first room had not been refurbished and did not meet 4star standard so we complained and were moved to one that had been which was fine.
We were also offered a free upgrade to the Timanfaya but you need take into account that this hotel has approx 15min walk to the outskirts of shops whereas the Princess has the beaches, shops etc within a 5min walk.
Cleanliness - Very good
Food - Breakfast ok, Evening meal very good and varied
Staff - Good
Entertainment - If you have kids the mini disco and daisy will drive you crazy, the shows average and have seen better.
This hotel needs to up its standards to catch up with other hotels in the Canaries, I cannot see why people go back year in year out when there are so many other hotels and islands to visit.
Maybe when this hotel is fully refurbished I may go back in the future.

The room we were allocated was in dire need of refurbishment. The furniture and fittings were old and shabby. Wallpaper was woodchip painted cream which had turned brown.Cracked tiles on floors, the beds were hard and lumpy and the balcony door rattled all night long in the wind.
That was the negative side. On the positive side, the staff were all, without exception, helpful and friendly. The hotel rooms, public areas, pool and gardens were kept immaculate. The pools were a bit cold but you soon get used to it.One good bonus was that the beach was just out the back gate and across the road.
The food in the dining room was buffet style but was very good with plenty of choice. There was always plenty of fresh fruit at all meals. The hotel was very cosmopolitan and it seemed that every nationality was catered for, The piano bar was excellent for a relaxing drink but the entertainment was sometimes a bit boring.
The main show of the evening only lasted 45 minutes. We would be reluctant to return here unless it was completely refurbished and all rooms brought up to 4 star standard.

Reception was a little slow. The sea view room (yes there are some!) we had ordered was on the ground floor with the main road less than 10 feet away and had several large trees blocking the view. Of course there was no alternative available.
Asked a fridge with chilled drinks. It did not work the drinks were warm an it took another 4 hours before it was replaced.
The Restaurant was always full and you had to wait for a table or sit with the smokers.
The food choice was not bad, but the choices often ran out quickly

The hotel at the time was undergoing renovation so the place was a bit of a state. Areas of the hotel look like they haven't been decorated in years, and the whole place has a shabby run dow feel to it. In fact there were so many complaints when we were there that people were being offered to move to the sister hotels down the road, which we found out about to late.
Thefood was of a good standard, although repetitive and the staff in the restaurant were friendly enough.
Staff in reception however was very poor, probably because everyone was complaining about the place.
Childrens entertainers were the only people really trying at this place, and all the kids seemed to be enjoying the place, especially the mini disco.
All in all, a major disapointment for a hotel that is so highly recommended.

Stayed there over New year 05/06 what an awful Hotel.
our original rooms looked like they had never been refurbished since the hotel opened probably 20+ years ago.
After requesting a change of room the ones on offer were much better. The Gala Meal which we paid approx £50 per head(including our 12 & 13 year old children)was appaling, we would have been better walking down to Burger King.
Entertainment was ghastly, and didnt even keep the kids happy.Infact the only thing for them to occupy themselves with was the internet cafe.
Only thing going for this hotel is the location. H10 have to do something with this hotel to bring it up to the standards of its sister hotels in resort (Rubicon Palace & Timanfanya Palace) or change its star rating!!!!

We had a newly refurbished room on pool level rooms, it was clean spacious and very comfortable, plenty of extra pillows with clean covers on them, blankets in the wardrobes. There were 2 very large wardrobes and loads of drawers.
The Hotel itself was very clean, The Staff were the best we have ever seen, from dining room to bar to restaurant to reception to Porters they were all fantastic.
The food was excellent in the restaurant, we often eat out when we go to hotels but not this time.
We will definitely go back to this hotel, as we saw how they welcomed people back who had been before.

Staff were friendly, hotel was clean but rooms in definite need of refurbishment.
Food was a buffet style for both Breakfast and evening meal and choice was very good.
Pool area was fine apart from the water was very cold within one area and the other area acclimatised to colder weather was quite small for the amount of people.
Entertainment particularly in the Piano Bar was excellent. The Saxophone playing was worth the visit in itself. Did not go to the other bar as the entertainment was amateurish.
Location was central and could visit most places within Playa Blanca quite easily.
We would recommend this hotel and are looking at going again next year but, we will request a refurbished room if at all possible.

The food that was left out for the late arrivals was disgraceful but I thought I would wait until the following morning before making a final judgement. Breakfast was awful and the 'restaurant' was, in fact, a canteen!!
I requested a move the rep was too lazy to help but the hotel staff were very helpful and efficient and arranged a move to their sister hotel the Timanfaya Palace which was absolutely superb.
No charge for the move and they even offered to reimburse my taxi fare....that's what i call service!!
If you're looking for 4 star don't even THINK of booking here.

The first room we were allocated definately needed refurbishing and smelled, but on complaining at the reception desk, we were immediately offered a much better room which had been refurbished. Also the tiles around the pool restaraunt were cracked.
The food, cleanliness, and staff friendliness were as good as ever.
The entertainment in the piano bar was very good, but the shows in the theatre bar lounge were extremely poor and amateurish.
We will return if the hotel is upgraded to its former state, because its location is better than the other H10 Hotels in the resort.

| said: Booked hire care on the internet which we picked up at the airport. Very easy to drive and found the hotel straight away. Had read the reviews so we asked for a refurbished room on a low floor, which we got, but we overlooked the tennis courts, but we didn’t mind as the room was lovely & spotlessly clean. We ordered the fridge as recommended in the previous reviews (pay for the drinks, minimum 20 euros, then fridge for free, if you order coca cola you will need a bottle opener!). Reception staff very helpful and friendly, room service everyday, fresh towels if you want them.
Pool lovely, but cold at first, shortage of sunbeds, but some can be found eventually. There is a gate at the back that is a short cut to the shops etc. it’s locked at 7pm for security.
Entertainment is average. It’s got the usual animation team, who work very hard both day and night, but are not natural entertainers. Other acts brought in are pretty good. Piano & saxophone bar very relaxing and you can hear the music as you enter the dining room which is nice. The food in the hotel is buffet style, loads of choice, something for everyone. Drinks are not included at evening meal and are expensive. Everyone got wise and just ordered water @ just under 2 euros. Drinks in the hotel generally are ‘hotel’ prices. The restaurant had themed evenings, Italian, Mexican, Chinese & Canarian. There is a carvery every night with show cooking of sorts. We found that if we did not arrive at the start of service, we were given a table that had not been set properly, and then had to search for our own cutlery/crockery. Tried the poolside café, not impressed, expensive and poor.
This hotel is VERY wheelchair friendly, even having a ramp into the swimming pool!
Overall, very good quality hotel, seems to attract mainly couples. We would stay again in this hotel & would recommend it.

The room was large and well appointed - it was cleaned thoroughly every day - the bathroom was really nice and the water was always piping hot.
Food was adequate - the usual buffet type fare but very good of its type. The breakfasts were of a high standard, plenty of variety.
Hotel situation is perfect, just across the road from a shopping centre and onward to the beach.
Staff in the hotel were very good, friendly and efficient.
There was entertainment but I didn't really get involved with any of it, but other people I spoke to said it was very good.

The rooms were cleaned every day and the reception , bars and pool areas were very luxurious although the bedrooms need updating and the air con was terrible - a constant 24c in our room! our rep informed us that new air con was being installed the day we were going home.
Plenty of choice of food, although it can be a little bit repetetive, but we never went hungry.
The animation team work really hard and if you have children you can't go wrong as they are entertained all day and into the evening, adults are also kept busy with the rifle shooting, water polo, billiard and mini golf competitions

| said: My husband and I went to this hotel on 16 June 2005 on a half board basis. We arrived late at night and found that the hotel had put on food for late arrivals. It was more than welcome.
The hotel was clean and the facilities were excellent. Our room overlooked the sea and had a massive balcony. The room itself was spotless but a little dated. The aircon was effective if you let it run constantly. The bathroom was old but clean and there was always hot water. The towels were changed daily and the maids always made up the room.
The food was fantastic and was themed Italian, Chinese, Mexican etc. Fresh food was cooked as you waited the rest was buffet style we always ate in the hotel and that is unusual.
The pool facilities are excellent, 60cents a day secures you towels and seat padding to use with the beds and parasols which are free. A lot of selfish people hogged them all day despite being there only 1-2 hours. The beach is 200 metres away and is clean.
A quiet resort not for young clubbers but for relaxation great.
The entertainment was okay but more child orientated, the bar was reasonable with cocktails costing the equivalent of £3.20 and happy hour was two for one. The catamaran trip was excellent.
I would definitely recommend this hotel athough the rooms could do with being upgraded.

| said: We have just returned from the H10 Lanzarote Princess. The public areas and the rooms were clean. However, we were located in one of the rooms which were not refurbished and we felt the room was definitely not 4* standard. In my opinion the room, although clean was a bit shabby. The bath had bad staining on it because it was so old and the shower head fell on top of you when you had a shower. However, when I complained to the rep, she arranged to have this repaired. I had already complained to the hotel reception but they just ignored it. Also, our towels weren't changed for 3 days. When I complained to the rep she said we should have put them all in the bath if we wanted clean ones and that this was stated clearly in the hotel booklet. I advised her that I didn't have a hotel booklet in my room and had no idea that this was the procedure.
The food was fine.
The location of the hotel was good. You don't have far to walk to get to shops and restaurants. However, this is a very quiet resort and perhaps suited more to older couples or couples with young children. Definitely not for young single people or families with teenage children. Playa Blanca is very clean and the beach is lovely. The hotel staff were friendly but the entertainment was not great.
Having been to this hotel and resort I would not return again.

| said: It is very interesting to read all the different opinions you get on this hotel, so here is mine.
We went to the Lanzarote Princess on the 23rd June 2005 for a week after it was recommended to me by friend. We have always stayed in 5* hotels but they didn't cater too much for kids, so we thought that we would give this a try.
On arrival the staff were great and we received a warm welcome and were taken to our room which overlooked the pool on the ground floor. The room was spacious enough for the four of us and was very clean. We only saw one cockroach during our stay which was out by the pool area. The pool area was very busy every day and despite the rules, you had to get up early and put your towels on a sunbed or you just wouldn't get one. I have never had to do this before in previous hotels and I don't like doing it, but if you don't then you won't get a sunbed. A towel and bed cover was 60 euros per day each.
The entertainment people were fantastic with our kids and kept them busy all day. There was also entertainment events for the adults throughout the day which was also great stuff and helped you meet other people staying at the hotel.
The food was superb, and I can be a fussy eater. Lots of choice and there was also themed food nights.
Breakfast was also very good with lots of fresh fruit on offer.
Of an evening, the kids had a disco and then the entertainment team would put on a show or an outside act would come in. We could not fault any of this.
My only gripe was that the air-conditioning did not work very well in our room, but this was only a minor gripe as we were on the 'cool' side of the building.
All in all, we had a fantastic weeks holiday and we are trying to book again for the kids summer holidays.
If you are looking for a very good hotel with lots of entertainment laid on for adults and the kids then this is the place to try.

| said: Cleanliness in the room was very good, as were the main reception areas of the hotel. But it was let down badly in other ways.
Most days there were plenty of cockraoches and other insects roaming the passageways which the cleaning staff seemed totally oblivious to as they just walked past them with no thought of removing them.
Another area was the outside sections. Most evenings as we walked around, we noticed empty bottles/glasses and even trays of coffee cups abandoned around the place (what sort of scum inhabit these places?), and lo and behold, there they were at 10:30 the next morning as well - untouched.
This can be put down to the undesireable element of holiday maker who has no thought for anyone but themselves as well as the lack of cleaning work being done.
Hotel location was alright, but why on earth was the gate shut at seven in the evening? Especially if you need your room key to get in or out. Absurd, especially if you are physically handicapped and can do without the extra mileage during the week.
All the reception staff were fantastic and very helpful, but one barman in particular in the piano bar was rude and discourteous to my wife one afternoon. Fortunately for him I wasn't present at the time as I'd have got the hotel management involved and demanded he apologise to my wife. He needs to remember what he is being paid for. I won't go into detail, but a Spanish guest was a witness to this incident and told my wife that he too was disgusted with the barman's actions.
The guy who was showing us to our table in the evenings seemed insitant that we needed to run to the tables when he was showing us where to sit. When he looked back and saw that we were several yards behind him, he huffed and grunted and waved his arms to hurry us up. With my wife being disabled and unable to walk very quickly (or even at a normal pace), he became exasperated by us and stood there with his hands on his hips looking at his watch. These people do not deserve to work in this industry. Needless to say there were no tips left at the restaraunt section or the piano bar section by us.
Would I visit this place again? Not a hope in hell.

The location was excellent with lovely beach nearby and also The Rubicon marina within a pleasent stroll. Try Lanis excellent setting and food.
The entertainment was low key but my daughter who is 9 years old enjoyed the childrens entertainment very much.

Dining room staff were good but busy.
The hotel was spotless and the cleaning staff were always pleasant. The hotel is within 5 minutes walk of the main beach but as the sunbeds and towels at the hotel only cost the equivalent of £1.10p per day for two we didn't stray very far.
The pool areas were clean with large pools and plenty of room. There was a lifeguard on duty at all times and he spent most of his time near the children's pools.
Evening entertainment consisted of live musicians in the piano bar who were good. The other theatre area consisted of the entertainment team alternating with professional artists. Some acts were good - others not so hot.
We will definately be returning

Hotel was immaculately clean, even polish the palm trees! We upgraded to a suite so that we had more space and a separate bedroom from the children, only complaint about this was that the bedroom was not airconditioned, only the lounge area. Would not put me off staying at this hotel again though. Pool area was lovely but people reserved the sunbeds at the crack of dawn despite notices saying that staff would remove towels. Over all, fab hotel, would definitely recommend it, staff friendly and cannot do enough to help.

| said: We were absolutely delighted when we arrived at the hotel.
After checking in, the receptionist waved over a porter and he put our cases into the carrier and drove us down to our room and carried the cases up for us. What a luxury.
We couldn't fault the food, particularly as we had a very fussy 10 year old with us. A different theme every night ensured that the choice of food was always interesting. The piano bar at night was great, very relaxing. We would go there and my son would go to the children's entertainment. There was no hesitation in letting him go with his friends while we had "grown up" time on our own.
The room was cleaned daily and fresh towels were available for poolside every day. We will definitely be back.

| said: Hi
My wife and I had a lovely holiday at this hotel but it does need a refubishment particularly in the bathroom. The plumbing kept making a banging noise when taps were turned on. Other guests had similar but it didn't apply all over hotel.
Refurbishment was taking place but it is a big hotel complex and this will take time.I might add that when we informed reception they would have moved us to a differant room but we got used to it. Also we were told that people who had gone with Thompsons were told before they had left the U.K. of the work and they could have changed hotels this did not happen to us with Cosmos.
Also in the bathroom-the bath was stained, light fittings were not working properly - the pedal bin had lost its cover and the light over mirror in bathroom did not have a cover. We did not report any of this and it did not spoil our holiday. Like I say it does need a refurbishment and because of this when we go back to Playa Blanca next year we will book into a different hotel.

| said: Not up to the standard one should expect for a 4 star hotel the rooms were furnished to 3 star standard, not all were large.
The food was definitely not up to 4 star standard. The restaurant was large and noisy, over run by small children.
The main advantage was it's proximity to the centre.
Perfectly good 3 star hotel, but you are paying for 4 stars, consequently a bit expensive.
The swimming pool area was well designed (criss crossed by towel bearing automatons in the early mornings...)
The main entrance was unfortunately placed the 'wrong side' relative to the town. The more convenient gate being closed in the evening.
