| said: I went with my husband, kids, 2x 16, 13 and 9 years old with my mum too who is mostly in a wheel chair as she cant walk very far.The hotel was very clean and the staff were so freindly to us and would do anything for my mum, I had e-mailed them ahead of going to explain to them that we had a wheelchair user would it be a problem, they mailed me back and told me the truth saying if My mum could walk up a few steps that it would not be a problem as we could go upstairs via the side of the hotel,as most things were on ground level we only had to do this four times the whole week we were there. The food was ok for me and my mum but the kids and hubby struggled a bit some nights eg Seafood night. But most importantly the food was hot not luke warm which is good for a hotel that size. There were not a lot of kids the same age group of ours there,I think this was due to the fact we went early in the year but this did not matter as the staff were so good with them they were happy, I would very likely go back

| said: Well where do I start,The first thing that strikes you is how attentive the staff are.secondly there is a tipping culture @ the hotel, a few tips here and there goes along way! The food generally is fine but I must say is not the hottest I've ever had, and I did get food poisoning, The Thomas Cook rep did mention a lot of people get food poisoning in the hotel which suggests to me something is not quite right here. Make sure you go early as the sweet section can run out. The hotel now is getting busy in late March with lots of Russians who shall we say lack some manners and don't know the concept of queuing. Most people use the heated pool but my party liked the quietness of the cool pool area (much more relaxed). I found a hole around a grid 3 feet from the edge of the cool pool where a child's foot could go down and make one bad mess of a leg, I did report this to my Thomas Cook rep hope this gets sorted quickly. The one free visit to the Tex Mex restaurant was well worth the visit, loved it! Rooms are fine for all your needs with hair dryers, TV (with English speaking movie channel) clean towels daily.Maids will do anything you ask hoping you will tip well @ the end of your stay. Internet is expensive in my eyes £4.50 for 30 mins. There is a disco next to the main bar in reception. I think this hotel is much better than the hotel next door, the Garden Beach. Went Quad biking but make sure you wear old clothes as you get filthy. Helmets DON'T have visors so dust gets in your eyes even with sunglasses on. Now we went on a boat trip to do some snorkelling this was booked when a chap came around the pool, he is based on the beach more towards the Garden Beach. This guy will try to screw you, we paid £70 for three adults but wanted to pay in Euros his conversion didn't match ours but he didn't get away with this, you have been warned! The boat trip was nice and you do see lots of fish but its all in deep water and they say three one hour snorkelling sessions but no way is it an hour each time. Life jackets I found are needed it just helps with the energy levels, younger people will be fine without one as my daughter was fine without a life jacket. All in all i would say value for money. One last thing the water slides have halted in there construction, is this a lack of money? i don't know.

| said: stayed for feb half term after canx booking to makadi palace. i loved the hotel fab grounds ,really spacious and well kept, never an issue getting sunbeds.i enjoyed the daytime aerobics and kids loved the aqua aerobics everyday complete with club dances! the entertainment team work really hard, evening entertainment is fairly good, lots of other nationalities , not many british(this didnt really bother us ). i enjoyed the food too, especially the mexican restaurant, kids loved the pancakes each morning.the bedroomswas huge 2 rooms with a bathroom in between.hotel staff all very attentive and the place is very keen.i would love to go back but after searching seems no uk operator now has rooms for families of 4 for next year( only offering 2 rooms which is very expensive) maybe the family rooms are being sold to other countries. also did the boat trip booked from beach and bartered the price right down, definately negotiate the price.our 2nd holiday to egypt and we would love to go again to this hotel.

| said: Big hotel, but didn't feel crowded. Plenty of space for everybody.
Hotel staff couldn't do enough for us, food was varied and good, always something different to try.
Us british were in the minority which was very nice.
Evening entertainment was not so good but we kept ourselves amused.
Will go back without doubt.

| said: Ok, the important bit! Tis not 5* by UK standards but a damn good effort is being made to get it somewhere near, I would say a 4* at the very worst.
Mamlouk Palace is a big hotel but it's not without it's staff, there seemed to be 100's of them & never once did we wait (or want) for anything.
I could write thousands of words here, instead I'll try to sum up in single words/sentences as much as possible.
Main Hotel:
Big.
Friendly Staff (nothing was too much trouble).
Fab food & drink (no queues at anytime).
2 huge pools (1 heated to 29c throughout the winter) & both suitable for children or those not overly confident as they are shallow enough to walk in.
Swim up pool bar.
Very clean beach with a windsurf school, it's own jetty which leads out to a small reef suitable for snorkelling whilst the sea is very shallow (artificially made) so again suitable for the less able swimmer.
Sunbeds & towels foc.
The sister hotel next door has a dive schol & offers snorkelling trips via a local boat but it's nearly double the cost of those in town.
Health Club which offers a Gym, Sauna, Steam Room & Jacuzzi bath foc as well as a range of massages at extra cost. TIP: Barter the price down to a £20 per hour long massage as they are happy with that but start at £40!
Disco til 2am (24.00-02.00 not on AI basis).
Horse/Camel riding available from the beach.
Rooms:
Our room (26206) was Light & Airy with a queen size bed! The bathroom was of a good size with a nice shower complete with seat for those less abled & the soap/shampoo/body lotion were replenished daily when the room was cleaned (it was cleaned to a very high standard). The wardrobes were of a good size but TIP: take some hangers with you as they weren't many. Cable TV offered CNN news, Cartoon Network & 3 other English speaking film channels. Small balcony which got the sun for most of the day. In room safe was free of charge & easy to use with a digital lock/unlock system. TIP:make sure you get a top floor room & on the wing with room numbers beginning with 2 as they get more of the sun.
Bad bits:
The hotel had its "official" opening day during our stay but there are still some small building works being done to finish off but nothing that disturbed us othert than a slight smell of paint fumes in places.
Occasional sewer smell outside the front of the hotel.
There is nowhere in the main Lobby bar that is "officially" no smoking however we managed to find a quiet corner most nights & actually made a no smoking area with the others who abhor the smell whilst enjoying a drink or 2 after dinner.
Hotel is under the flightpath so there is occasional aircraft noise but nothing late at night nor too early in the morning.
To sum up: 4* quality, great food & drink with no waits for either & lots of choice, fab swimming pools & beach area, local shops to wander round after dinner (beware the lookie lookie men who are a pain but that's nothing new in tourist areas) & only £2 (after bartering) into town by taxi if you want some shopping or nightlife.

| said: We visited this hotel in december 07 with family, 6 of us in total. I was very wary of what it was going to be like as of lack of reviews as it had only just opened.
Well to be honest i could not fault it. The rooms were spotless and well maintained. All the staff from reception to bar staff would go out of there way to help you etc.
My only complaint, which is not the hotels fault was the prescence of the russians, they lack social skills on all levels and are rude and ignorant all over the hotel especially in the restaurant at meal times. They were drunk at times and leary and security had to intervene. To be honest they dont like them at all but its there bread and butter! thats why the english get much better service.
The water shoots were still like that in December!
I would go again to the hotel but maybe not hurgharda! it was a bit too commercialised for us, i prefer taba heights! i would not hesitate to take children to the hotel either there were loads of things to do. And the animation team were always on the go, involving you if you wanted to or not!! just sit back and watch!
