| said: Lovely hotel, great weather, views from balcony were stunning.
Maid service was excellent and rooms were very clean. Hotel was full but quiet as there were almost no kids about (term time) (which was nice as we were having a break from ours for a few days!).
There's a 5 minute free ride on the hourly bus from the hotel to Limone town centre (or a 20 minute walk down a steep hill). Limone is a very quiet sleepy town with plenty of cafes/restaurants on the harbour front. Regular high-speed boats take you to the other towns on the lake.
We went half-board and the buffet food was OK, but seemed to cater mainly for the large number of German tourists (i.e. very plain food - meat/potatoes/veg - large variety of salad - bit of seafood or pasta) not much proper Italian food though. - waiters very good and with a good sense of humour!
On the downside... the Air-con didn't work at all in the room (and it was about 35-38 Celsius!) and half of the light bulbs and switches were either broken or faulty. There was a safety deposit box in the room but you had to pay a 30 euro deposit to use it.
Night time views across Lake Garda were almost as good as those from Sorrento across the bay of Naples :))
I would recommend both the hotel and the town to anyone looking for a quiet getaway - few kids - no Townies (cos there's no nightlife to speak of) - just a relaxing atmosphere.

The hotel is located on a fairly steep hillside, overlooking and about 20 Min's walk from, the centre of Limone, with superb views across the lake to the facing mountains. (Maybe not suitable for those who don't like walking up hills!) The hotel did run a shuttle bus to the town, but we didn't use it as we don't mind walking.
The rooms were not quite as 4* as I expected (but then I haven't stayed in a 4* before):-
1) there were stains on the carpet (looked like someone had cracked open a bottle of wine, spilled it and it had not been properly cleaned)
2) the double bed was really a twin - 2 singles held together (but still with the gap down the middle!)
3) bathrobe and slippers were advertised but we only got a stiff towelling robe and no slippers.
Otherwise the rooms were fine - decent bathroom, TV, minibar/fridge, in-room safe (at no extra cost) and bottle of asti spumante, water and fruit on arrival, plus stunning vista from the balcony!
The grounds were lovely, very green, lots of shrubbery and flowers, including a cactus garden. 2 large exterior pools and 1 fantastic warm indoor pool.
Bar with 'entertainment' (singer and piano - not our cup of tea). Table tennis, giant outdoor chess set, Internet and newspapers (both extra charge).
Reception staff helpful and they can arrange excursions - we got a trip to Venice provided free because we were on honeymoon!
Although lack of communication with their head office about this and a 5% early booking discount I was entitled to - I had to produce various email confirmations to prove both these things - the hotel staff weren't aware! I thought they should have been informed.
Food nice (but then I ain't that fussy!), buffet style, fair amount of choice and different courses, staff helpful, most drinks cost extra (apart from a kind of pink orange juice provided free at dinner and some days asti spumante provided free at breakfast!), restaurant got full though some nights if you didn't go early.
Overall, I would definitely visit the hotel again if I had to (but I'm the kind of person who likes to visit different places, not the sort who'd go back to the same place year on year!)
