This Hotel is excellent, it is clean and tidy at all times and the staff are extremely friendly. We stayed for two weeks and totally enjoyed it. The only down side is that firstly the evening entertainment is very poor so you have to enjoy sitting in one of the bars or doing nothing. Secondly the hotel is miles away from anything so you have to get a cab. With the exception of Makadi Bay shops which is about a 15mins walk.
We were recommended this hotel and we would definately recommend it others.

The weather was approx 32 degreees every day so for October we were very happy with that.

Egypt is well known for upset stomachs and yes I did suffer with this but my husband didnt. I really dont beleive it's the food, I think it's purely a case of change of everything and your system just rebels!

The down side of the whole holiday was that we were delayed 24 hours coming home so we were moved to another hotel on the night we should have come home. The organisation of this was terrible and we will be complaining to Thomas Cook regarding this matter. But that had nothing to do with the Hotel.

Travelling with Thomas Cook is a nightmare. We were an hour late taking off going and on the return journey. We had booked extra legroom seats and we were frozen on both flights and yet, on the return, a passenger in the back of the plane was overcome by heat and needed oxygen.

We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights. It was clean and well maintained. The food, however, was not up to standard. The main restaurant had repetive menus and the choice at lunch and dinner was the same. The speciality restaurants were better. It was our 40th wedding anniversay one evening and we ate at the chinese and were made a fuss of with champagne and cake etc. However, in the middle of the night we were both violently ill. We were due to go on the Island excursion the next morning and although we went it was a repeat of many "desert island" trips on previous holidays. Hardly any English speaking guests and the lunch provided was awful. The English tourist in very much in the minority here so if you go to make friends it might be difficult.

We also went on the Luxor trip which involved getting up at 3.00 a.m. taking a coach to Hurgarda airport and waiting two hours for an aeroplane which was not much younger than me (60)! The tour of Luxor was fine but we were disappointed that there was no time to see "Tuts" tomb but later plenty of time for the ceramics factory. The trip down the Nile was enjoyable but the lunch once again was poor. The people in this country are very poor but the harrassment from many of them for tips or to spend money was continuous and did get very annoying.

A massage is included in the price with Thomas Cook but we did not take advantage of it as the Rep. warned that we would be pressurised to upgrade it to something we had to pay extra for. Not many people therefore had the massage so that was a disappointment.

All in all a nice break but we were glad we were only there for a week and that it was not our main holiday.

My advice regarding travelling with Thomas Cook is don't but we did have a good rep. and I think the two people whose luggage was left at Gatwick may have got it back later in the week!!
