| said: Excellent hotel with very helpfull staff.Always sunbeds available whichever time of day you went to the pool.Good food but choice was limited to either fish or 2 types of meat.Poor entertainment in the piano bar and the air conditioning not switched on.Albufeira about 3 miles away with not much going on in between but taxis only 6 euros one way but always had to wait 20 to 30 minutes for a cab. Ideal location for a quite, relaxing holiday.

| said: The hotel is set in beautiful gardens overlooking the sea. The pool area is beautiful with illuminated fountains at night. There appeared to be plenty of sunbeds although obviously the hotel was quiet at the time of year we stayed.
The bedrooms were very large with large well furnished balconies. They were well cleaned and well furnished.
The buffet style breakfast was very good and included a good variety of hot food. We did not eat in the hotel in the evening because the choice on the menu did not appeal to us. We had lunch time snacks at the pool bar a couple of time which were fine.
All the hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
The hotel was quite isolated and although a courtesty bus travelled into Albufeira regularly we feel we benefitted from the use of a hire car.
There were about four or five restaurants within walking distance and I think there was one bar although that was closed when we were there.
We would definitely visit again.

| said: We have just returned from a week at this hotel and it is really lovely.
The hotel is clean and beautiful and quiet. We had a sea view room and its worth the extra money.
The hotel is about 15 minute walk from 1 beach and a short bus ride (provided free by the hotel) for another much larger beach. The hotel is near 2 or 3 restaurants and bars but if you want something more lively, go into albufeira. The hotel lays on a free coach which finishes at 6:45pm but you can easily get a taxi back for around 5 euros, we had to queue at most for 15 minutes for a taxi but there were plenty of them coming and going.
We really enjoyed our stay here, the hotel is peaceful, not overly busy and everyone is very friendly. Just watch out for the early sunbed stealers, they get up at 8, put towels on beds then go to the beach, this really isn't on.
We booked this through expedia.com and everything was spot on! I'd highly recommend this hotel if you don't like to be too close to the hassle and hustle of a town. In our party were 4 adults and 2 under 10's and they loved it.
The pool is big and very nice and the mermaid poolside bar does reasonably priced and nice food. If you speak to Carlos nicely, he'll bring in fresh sardines especially for your lunch.
Hotel layed on a Portuguese BBQ evening which was great fun.
All in all this rates as one of the loveliest holidays we've had!!! Thank you expedia.com and thank you Baia Grande hotel! We are definitely planning to go back here and we would use expedia again!!!

| said: There were no real complaints about breakfast, although a little boring! The rooms, the hotel in general and its grounds were very clean.
Hotel Baia Grande was much further from the town than we had anticipated and its location is more acurately described as Seismarias on the outskirts of Albufeira.
The staff were helpful and friendly, although getting taxis were a problem - in fact, the first night we arrived, we gave up. There are some decent restaurants nearby and a couple of nice beaches within walking distance.
This is not the place for young single people or even young couples. (We are in our forties) Having said all that we did enjoy our time there and may stay again, but this time will remember to bring our driving licences!

| said: This hotel was a very lovely hotel. The staff were very polite and will try to help you in what ever way they can.
The entertainment can be a little bit boring but if you want a quiet holiday this is ideal, even a quiet night after you arrive was ok.
On the other hand if you like going out at night the hotel puts on a free shuttle into the oldtown centre, where you can find some good music and good food, you will need to get a taxi back but they are easy enough to find and cheap too, 7 euros about £5.00.
I would definatley go back to this hotel in the near future as the pool area is quiet and set in beautiful gardens with a large pool and poolside bar.
The cleanliness of this hotel was supurb and I could not fault it in any way. If I can recommend any drinks for the ladies it would be a strawberry dakerie and a grass hopper (sorry dont know how to spell it).
I would recommend this hotel for couples and adults as they didnt have anything to do for children, so if you are looking for a mainly child free hotel, then this is the place to go.
Hope I have helped and we had a fabulous time here. See you again in the future Baia Grande.

| said: First Class Hotel approx 3 years old, the rooms were clean and tidy and very comfortable. The staff could not be more helpful very friendly from reception right down to the waiters, pool staff etc.
The Hotel is Approx 3 miles from Albuferia and costs about 7 euros ( £5 ) by Taxi, there is a free hotel bus about four time a day into the town, but the last one is at 7pm.
Entertainment can be a bit ropey depends what you like if Tom Jones type of music is what you like you'll be ok.
I would Highly recommend this hotel as it offers good value for money and will be returning soon again.
