I cannot understand where these people are coming fron complaining about the breakfast. I have a very fussy husband but we both found the breakfast excellent. With a choice of full English, boiled eggs, over 10 different types of bread, jams, marmalades, german fayre, fresh fruit, natural yoghurt, over 6 to 7 cereals every day, unlimited hot drinks, milk, juices.

If by some miracle you could not find what you liked here if you simply approached the cooking staff they would endeavour to provide whatever you desired that was breakfast fayre.

The room we were in had been refurbished and was lovely, balcony was not good but view nice. This is an older accommodation that has undergone some refurbishment but the main reception and entertainment area is still quite traditional. Yes it has dark woods but that is traditional Portugeuse decor.

My only real issue was the indoor swimming pool was too small, very stuffy atmosphere and not at all inviting.

Yes i would go back and yes the entertainment needs a boost, bingo and karaoke hummmm no i think not. A singer would be better with maybe a fado night or two.

We stayed at the Auramar as a party of eight. Each couple had a sea-view room of their own. Personally I found our room very nice and clean, the bathroom was big and the bedroom was big enough. The Balcony wasn't the best Ive ever had but it had a sea view and a table and chairs which was all we needed. Ladies please note that I didn't find a hairdryer so remember to take one!

We found the hotel to be very clean, our room was cleaned everyday by the same maid who was very friendly and did a very good job. Towels seemed to be changed everday and the bedlinnen was changed once a week.

The food at the hotel was lovely, and there was loads of it. OK as the previous guy mentioned, the breakfast did get a little boring, on alternate days you either had sausage (bit spicey but very nice) and beans or bacon and tomatoes, but there was a continental choice, plus toast and of course CHIPS!!

During the day the Pool bar provided great meals, there was always a choice of soup, burgers and chips, fish, some days there was chops or chicken or steak, and you could always get a pasta dish, there was also a salad bar with cold ham and cheese and the homemade coleslaw was beautiful!!

Evening meals were also fine, again there was burger and chip (for the kids I guess), there was usually a pasta dish, a fish dish, a veggie dish, soup, different meat dishes, a salad bar and a good selection of puddings! The only thing I felt was missing was a nice cheese selection for the end of the meal.

The hotels location was brilliant, it was only a 10 minute stroll to the Strip where all the life was, but it was far enough out that you didn't get any trouble or noise.

The hotel staff, once they got to know you, were very friendly, especially the bar staff.

The only downfall to this hotel was the "Entertainment". During the day there were activities if you wanted them, just like any other package holiday, but at night it really wasn't up to much. As we were all inclusive we tried to stay at the hotel until the bar shut, then went onto the strip, but some evenings it was really boring and we left early. It did seem to be very German orientated, with translations in German for everything and a little English if you were lucky. The best night was the Karaoke night, which I guess is when the guests provide the entertainment. Could definitely improve on that!

I would definitely book (all-inclusive again) to go to this hotel again! We had a very enjoyable holiday at the Auramar.

We stayed B+B but the breakfast I can only describe as boring, we actually went out for breakfast after the first few days.

The hotel was spotless, towels changed daily and bedding at least once a week.

The hotel is on the top of a cliff with lovely views, but be warned from the pool back up to reception there are more than 70 steps!!not for anyone with ambulatory problems.

No problem with the staff, and the entertainment was fine.

The Auramar Hotel is the nicest hotel I have been to.

The entertainment and food etc was what u made of it. The hotel staff could not have been nicer to me, maybe that says something for the people who found them grumpy and rude.

Bar staff, caterers and reception staff were a laugh when they got to know your face a bit, and always very polite to me. Look out for Charlie, such a lovely helpful bar man.

The pool area is amazing and as for the steps... If you are a lazy bone idle human being then dont attempt this hotel as it has about 15 steps to the pool area, it caters for disabled with ramps and elavators to the rooms.

My room was cleaned everyday by a lovely welcoming cleaner who always said hello and goodbye which I personally find very polite.

I only paid for B&B but ate in the restaurant for tea twice. The food is also what you make of it. The restaurant Agua Viva round the corner is lovely and very well mannered staff.. The pizzas there are amazing, award winning!!! But there is a slight language barrier with one of the waitresses.

The strip is a dangerous place, gypsys.... just ignore them, my friend had £2000 worth of jewellery taken from him, he was surrounded by 10 gypsys so had no choice, he went to the police afterwards and as normal the portuguese police didnt do much.

Be very careful on the strip, its a lovely street with lots of entertainment, try Green Bar for nice company and good drinks and try la bamba for amazing ice creams...

All in all brill, fab, excellent.. I will be going again in 3 months :) Enjoy people xx

Arrived at the Auramar first impressions from the outside was quite impressive very large hotel, and very clean.

Once inside the hotel it was very old fashioned it was like something from the 70's lets say they like dark wood, everywhere you go there is wood which did make the hotel very dull.

I will say that it was spotlessly clean and the staff were very helpful the rooms again were very dated but had everything you needed air con, sky TV, fridge, safe, bath/shower, telephone and again cleaned daily no complaints.

The pool area was overlooking the beach that I must say was lovely very peaceful. We only stayed on a B&B basis as we were only there for 3 days we wanted to eat out and try the cuisine which may I say was excellent and great value for money.

My only complaint was the food at the hotel, breakfast consisted of soggy chips, scrambled egg which was very runny and tasteless, sausages well if you want to break a tooth then they are there to try, the orange juice, you could see right through it no taste it was like water, after trying all that I thought I would go for toast you cant go far wrong with that. Oh but you can, the bread was that stodgy tasteless it was like eating cement so overall we found the food awful, the only good thing about breakfast time was the coffee it was Nescafe. Yes I would stay at this hotel again only for a short break but would eat out everything else was great.

We have just had a last minute 4 night stay at the Auramar Beach Resort as it is now named.

Board basis : B&B - Breakfast was good and catered for everyone ,We spoke to people all inclusive who said they had started going out for Dinner as the menu had become boring.

Hotel Cleanliness: We found the Hotel to be quite clean with our room cleaned every day Towels changed every day but bedding not changed at all during 4 days ,the hotel grounds are very clean.

Hotel Location: Probably in the best location for a quiet or active holiday with Albufera old Town a 20 min stroll along the beach or The Strip with its numerous bars and restaurants a 10 minute walk away.

Staff:reception staff were very organised, but not with a happy disposition, the main bar area is small and unkept, bar staff were slow and never cleared a single table.
Entertainment : Limited Don't bother the strip is only 10 Min's walk away.

Visit again: Maybe if we were with a group and only use its location Pool and breakfast

Just returned from the most wonderful week at the Auramar with my sister.

I found the whole complex just wonderful! The rooms although alittle dated are large, spacious with a little seated area, bath with good shower, a good sized balcony and tv with a few English channels namely BBC News 24, ITV 3, CNN.

All of the staff were wonderful to us and couldn't do enough for us apart from one barmaid, but then it can't be perfect i guess. Absolutely loved the grounds with lush tropical gardens very well maintained. The pool area was the nicest i've ever seen, lovely size with loads of sunbeds and overlooking the sea.

Just through the security gate at the bottom there is a beautiful beach which is only 2 mins away.

The entertainment we didn't get involved in but didn't seem much good but then with the new strip just a 10 min walk away and the old town just the same by taxi who really wants to sit in the hotel every night?

The breakfast was superb, it had everything from cold meats, cheeses, fruit and breakfast cereals to your full brekfast with the tastiest sausage and bacon i've ever had!

Everywhere was spotlessly clean and we had a maid service for the whole 7 days we were there which was a lovely surprise. Yes, the hotel is full of Germans on all inclusive but they were very "well mannered" people who kept themselves to themselves which is fair enough.

I wouldn't recommend all inclusive because although the food looked beautiful it did seem to be very repetitive and with so many gorgeous places to eat and very reasonable prices i'd recommend getting out there and exploring! I would especially recommend Agua Viva the little restaurant just outside the grounds of the hotel which served traditional Portuguese food, their piri piri chicken on the bone, rice and salad is not to be missed and it only cost 5 euro (about £3.75). It was loevly just sitting on their terrace watching everyone walking past sometimes struggling with their 5 litre bottles of water from the little supermarket that was about 5 mins away.

I really can't praise the Auramar enough, I spent hours on the internet reading up on places just to pick the right one to stay at and I certainly did well as it is a fabulous place with plenty to offer. Enjoy!!

Had a great time at Auramar Hotel, we stayed there for 10 nights with our flights and transfers booked independently.

I wouldn’t take any notice of first impressions. The check-in procedure seemed long drawn out, and the staff weren’t particularly happy looking, but once you get over this hurdle the rest of it was OK.

Our room was adequate albeit a bit dated. Air conditioning was best feature, and we never had this off while we were in the room. It was nice to have a fridge in the room so we had chilled drinks and ice on tap at all times. Only downside was the bathroom, the water from the shower just dripped out, so you had to jump around a bit to get wet, and took ages to drain away in the bath, so you ended up stood in your own dirty water.

Location a bit of a pain for anybody that doesn’t enjoy a bit of a walk. The nearest shops and bars are a 10 minute walk UPHILL from the hotel. There is a small bar situated outside the entrance to the hotel but we never went in there, it didn’t look too inviting. However, not a problem for us, I actually quite enjoyed the walk.

We were on B&B basis so can’t comment on the evening meal.. Breakfast was OK, and have had a lot worse. There was the usual fight for the toast machine, but that happens wherever you go! Hot chocolate was particularly nice from the drinks machines.

The pool was the best asset of the hotel. Very large, and plenty of sunbeds to go round. There was an entertainment team, who insisted on playing wake up “good morning” songs at 10am each day, similar to Butlins. There was a pool bar which sold drinks all day, and food at lunchtimes. The drinks were OK, but we tended to go out for lunch as we at there the first day and didn’t find it very appetising. From the pool, there are steps down to the beach where you can walk all the way to Albufeira if you wish. Very nice outlook.

Bar service in the main bar was OK. There was a happy hour between 6-7pm where a large beer was only €1, so I took advantage of that. Most guests were on an all inclusive basis with wristbands on, so this would have meant nothing to them.

All in all it was a good stay, and we would definitely return.

Myself and 17 friends and family arrived around lunchtime receptionist needed a few happy pills but don’t most of them!

Allocated our rooms we requested to all be together but 4 of our party were in another building one of which was my brother and his wife their room was fab. However my friend’s room was awful so she asked to be moved and was the following day.

The pool area is very nice but be warned there are loads of steps leading down to this. The snack bar which opened at 10.30am served a variety of food salads fish meat etc. the staffs are awful no effort at all on their part you really felt as if you shouldn’t ask them for anything.

The food served in the main restaurant was repetitive but I always found something but I couldn’t stomach the sprouts in mayonnaise leftovers from the previous night Yuk.

The entertainment was diabolical the drinks were ok watered down I think some nights the lager was undrinkable.

Found two cockroaches in my room told reception they sprayed I sprayed as I always go armed with my can of raid. our balcony was not cleaned for the whole 2 weeks we were there the air con unit is out there its very noisy however we had a fab holiday the strip is fab very lively watch for the scratch card touts they are a pain the shops are brilliant if you like jewellery and shoes which I do ! Enjoy!

This was an absolutely fantastic holiday, we throughly enjoyed everything!

The hotel was absolutely spotless, staff were always cleaning and tidying anything that needed doing.

The food was superb, the choice was amazing, one of the children likes only bread and jam at the moment, and there were 5 different varieties, so she was in her element! There was so much choice, meat, fish, vegetarian, salads, cold meats, cheeses, breads, desserts and all of it was so good, we didn't have one bad meal. Yes there were chips and burgers at every meal, but we didn't eat them as we were too busy stuffing everything else!

The location was great, stunning views of the sea, the lovely beach just a short walk from the hotel, it was perfect.

All the staff we great, very friendly and helpful, and nothing was too much trouble, they looked after all our children very well.

The 'entertainment' was ok, it was the only thing that could do with a big overhaul, we watched a couple of things, it was ok, not that great though.

Overall, we had a fantastic holiday, and would definately go back there, we had an amazing time, so if you are looking for a quiet family orientated hotel, this is the place to go.

Had a great holiday at this hotel. Went in with low expectations due to snagging an absolute bargain priced late deal. On arrival the reception area was clean and we were attended to quickly. After being shown to our room we found it to be clean and in good condition, if a little basic and dated looking.

Only had breakfast at the hotel where there was plenty of choice, even catering to the english tourists. Didn't stop for lunch or dinner at the hotel due to a fantastic selection of restaurants in close proximity (please Please PLEASE go and eat at the Koala Garden restaurant off the strip, we loved it so much we went twice in our week stay!!)

Hotel was in a good location albeit uphill from everything ! Private access to the beach nearby though I imagine not so easy for those with prams etc. Nice 10min stroll downhill to the strip, a little tiring coming back uphill at the end of the day but thankfully the taxis are dirt cheap.

Staff were helpfull and mostly spoke good english. Had a lovely surprise during my stay as it was my birthday and the staff had arranged for a cake to be delivered to my room (at no cost to us!). Fab !

Didn't stay for the entertainment as there was plenty to do on the strip though it was always busy so couldn't have been that bad ! Also it did seem to be a different entertainer each night.

On a different point, completely unrelated to the hotel but so you dont have a ruined day:
Please be aware of english people targeting the english tourists offering prize "scratch-cards" these may seem like nice freebies but you will end up spending 2 hours min at another group of hotels being hardsold into time shares (aka scams), be especially aware of Petchey Leisure, look them up before you go so you know to avoid!

Reading some of the negative reviews of this hotel, makes me feel like checking that others were staying at the same place!!

My husband and I have just had the most wonderful holiday at this hotel which represented excellent value for money.

I do agree that the entertainment at the hotel was pretty comical and not exactly fantastic, but the overall atmosphere at the hotel more than compensated.

There was an excellent mix of young and old guests and everyone commented on how friendly the staff were. I could not fault the kindness and warm welcome we were offered.

The food was good, fresh and offered plenty of choice, with lots of lovely salads and snacks in addition to the hot meals on offer. Quality of the food items was great.

The hotel is not excessiveky modern in design, but was superbly clean and tidy. Room was well equipped and the maid service was great.

Would definitely, definitely go there again. Fantastic.

Firstly be aware that you will need 10 euros when you check in at the hotel, a 10 euro deposit is needed for your room key, the keys are electronic and quite small so could be lost very easily and if lost they charge you 40 euros for a replacement.

Secondly watch out for the dodgy looking men offering you watches along “the strip”, if you are young they will offer you drugs.

Thirdly, do not leave anything lying around the pool area during the day as the huge seagulls have a tendency to pick things up.

Good Points
The rooms are very nice and very clean, towels are changed every day and during our 14 night stay our bedding was changed 3 times.

Hotel is nicely situated, 20 minutes walk along the beach to the old town and 10 minutes walk from “the strip”.

Bad Points
There is no lunch menu available, you are left to make a meal out of the food from the snack bar which consisted of the following, burgers, chips, spaghetti bolognese, rice, tuna, cheese and salad. On the first day this did not look too bad but after 14 days with no variation you soon get bored of it.

The choice of food for the evening meal was very limited, there would be 5 different meats available (fish, pork and beef) but only 1 vegetable (Brussels or carrots) and 1 choice of potato (roasted or croquet potatoes). There was no special childrens section, unless you count the burgers and chips (chips were only available at the evening meal for the first week we were there).

During the second week of our 2 week stay the hotel had four Under 17 International Football teams staying at the hotel. Half of the restaurant was shut off to normal guests to allow them to set up special tables for the football teams. Also half of the hot plates were reserved for the football teams so the choice of food for the evening meal was cut down even more. What made it worse was the food being served up for the footballers was considerably better than what we were being offered.

The Lobby bar where the evening entertainment is, is very small compared to the size of the hotel and all the tables and chairs were occupied before we had even been for our evening meal (this was at 7pm). We ended up sitting in the TV room most nights.

The entertainment put on in the evening is terrible, from 7.30pm till 11pm a guy is employed to play the organ, the same songs in the same order every night. The organ player is interrupted at 9pm when the entertainment show starts, these only last 30 minutes and include the following, musical chairs, bingo (the winner wins a free drink from the bar, most of the guests are All Inclusive so what is the point), karaoke and a singer (who only sings in Portuguese).

On arrival the hotel looked less than appealing. Reception is very dark and dated and it has a certain 'old' smell about it.

The staff are not particularly friendly and at times can be quite rudr and arrogant. Public areas are kept that well. The daytime snacks & bar area was vey grotty and quite a way from the main buildimng for those that wanted to sit in reception it is quite a treck just toget a drink!

The room itself was ok, very spacious but again very dated and the air conditioning was very tempermental.

The lunch food was repetitive- burgers & chips every day, with a very limited selection of veg and fruit!

Situated quite close to the town and backing right onto the beach the location was perfect. However if you have difficulties walking then this is not the place for you.

The hotel has alot of 'foreign' guests - Germans, Spanish, American and most of them were old dears so again if you're a young couple this isn't the place for you!

The Entertainment was shocking. The hotel animation team do 3 daytime activities - although one of these was a beach walk! And in the evening they have a guy that plays the keyboard but he only knows 10 tunes and plays th same tunes every night. He also has a tendency of giving the mic out to random people for them to join in - which is not very professional.

There are alot of pregnanat pauses during the evening and I think they only 1 cd cos when piano man took a break we heard robbie williams over and over again!

If a little more effort was put in and a little money was spent this could be a nice property but as it is at the moment I would not go back and I would not recommend it.

As previously described, the staff are varied. Some are very nice and go out of their way to help you and others are rude and abrupt.

We stayed on B&B basis so only tried breakfast. It was cereal, yoghurt, ham, salami, cheese, bread, chips, tomatoes and fruit and fried eggs or scrambled eggs depending on the day.

Those are the negative points. We stayed off peak season so this may be somewhat misleading but worth making a note of. It is a fantastic hotel. Our room was massive. It included a small kitchen area, bathroom, living room/seating area and bedroom. The hotel is beautifully lit in the night and is very close to the beach.

Some tips:
1.Buy a phone card from the strip for 5 euros which gives you 150 mins to phone home rather than use hotel.
2. Visit the cafe called Calipisto (believe this is the correct spelling). They serve great food at possibly the cheapest prices. For example, a spicy chicken baguette with crisps and salad cost 2.85 in euros which is 2 quid.

A larger cost 1.20 euros which is less than a pound. It is very clean and the service is great. We ate in many places and found this towards the end and were horrified we hadnt found it earlier.

If you walk from Auramar to strip it will be on your right just after supermarker and opposite cafe de grao which incidently did very nice hot chocolate.

3. Find Praia da Oura beach which is tricky to find but extremely close. It can be found using the little passage which can be seen when looking from the car park onto hotel.

One last thing. On the saturady night, the entertainment was hijacked by a huge group of young men from Holland. They sang songs and even managed to have the dj put a cd on for them. It was entertaining but strange. If you wish to stay in a fully exclusive british hotel then this is not for you.

Hope this helps.

We chose All Inclusive option as we hate having to carry cash around in the hotel for drinks and snacks.

The hotel was kept reasonably clean, but our room needed a good dusting.

The maids have an awful lot of rooms to do and don't seem to have time to complete the job properly. Didn't complain as it was only minor problem to us.

In the public areas the bar staff are supposed to clear the tables of glasses and cups, but due to not enough staff this was hit and miss whether they got round to it. We sat with another couple one evening and by the end of the night there were 17 glasses on our table. Not once during the two weeks did we see a table wiped down after the removal of glasses and cups. The dining room tables were cleaned between sittings thankfully.

The food was very good, a good selection, and hot if you timed it right. The buffet was not replenished very often later on in the evening so it tended to be only warm. Cakes and desserts were excellent, the best choice we have ever had.

Snacks in the pool snack bar were good too. Ice cream was delicious, several flavours to choose from, serve yourself as well, so not limited.

Location is excellent right on the headland and only 20 min walk along the beach to Albufeira. 10 min walk to The Strip where there is plenty of life.

Staff were a mixture really, reception staff were very friendly and sorted out any problems. Very informative too if you needed any help. Maids always had a cheery smile and greeted you.

The bar staff, some were very friendly but some seemed a bit surly, couldn't even smile. Dining room staff on the whole were friendly and cheerful but again one or two were a bit miserable.

The entertainment, well what can I say , what we saw was average package tour stuff, but only half an hour a night, then the Karaoke started, the same tunes in the same order every night. How boring! we had to go out on alternate nights to break the monotony after the main shows.

I don't think we would go again to this particular hotel as we are getting bored with the package tour holidays now.

We stayed all inc., the food was very good. Fresh & hot, no repetetiveness in the main restaurants. For the latecomers there was a microwave to warm up your food, as it was a buffet style menu, so I guess there maybe times when the food does go cold.

The hotel was extremely clean, there were plenty of cleaners around all day. The cleaners were always polite.

The hotel staff were generally very good, though most of the staff do not speak english as a first language, so there are times when communication can be slightly difficult.

The hotel is a very big complex, sitting on top of a cliff (excellent views of the ocean), covering several different blocks & levels. There are a lot of stairs to negotiate, so the less mobile may find it difficult to get around. There are steps down to a glorious beach, with coves, etc.

The hotel entertainment is somewhat lacking, generally consisting of 1 show per night, lasting between 20 & 80 minutes a night. So, if you are not an outgoing personality, then you will struggle to make your own entertainment.

The hotel consists 60% German, 30% UK, 10% Dutch. It is pretty much as described in the brochures, however it does not mention that part of the hotel is German exclusive.

There can be problems with sewage smells, as the drains blocked several times.

Just had two great weeks here. Hotel although a bit dated was clean and comfortable. Small kitchenette in the room and if you ask you can have a kettle.

The food was really good, a lot better than most four star hotels with a lot of choice.

Hotel location was perfect a gate near the pool led right on to the beach from which you could walk to Albufeira.

The staff were really pleasant and very helpful.

Didn't stay in for the entertainment but it sounded ok

Went for an upper class style hen weekend, (didn't want the bump and grind off Ibiza etc). The hotel was lovely, some work going on when we visited but it never disturbed us. Only seen 1 cockroache in our 3 day stay if thats anything to judge by.

The food was just what we wanted, easy buffet style, plenty of salad stuff. breakfast was a big buffet with everything you wanted, bacon, eggs, sausage, cereal, toast, etc. Lunch was served in the pool side bar, and was slightly repetitive, but at lunch we just wanted to sit down, grab a bite to eat and shade from the midday sun. And dinner was buffet style again, with meat, chicken, fish or vegetarian, plus loads of salad and lovely calamari rings. the only down side is that you can only have soft drinks, or lager, wine or sangria during dinner, there is no bar service. This didn't bother us as we drank some wine, and then pottered back up to the hotel bar to enjoy vodka and strawberry slush!

The location was great, about 10 mins from the strip if you like that , or just over the cliff edge to the beach. the hotel was very big, and after a day of hard sunbathing it was a bit of a climb back to our rooms at the front of the hotel.

Our rooms were ideal, 2 beds, 2 little wicker chairs, a balcony, a bathroom with shower and B Day (sp). The showers did run hot / cold depending on if someone else was using one nearby, but wasn't a big problem. Room had a tv which received sky news, cnn, itv 3 and bbc something, but the only thing we used the room for was to sleep!

The reception staff were a little abrupt when we arrived, but I think that was just the english getting lost in translation, as all the other staff were lovely! - The bar staff were sometimes a little on the slow side, but this was never an issue. The maids were also friendly and efficient. - constant flow of new towels whenever we needed them (every day).

The entertainment was a little odd, and we didn't really stay to enjoy it, we participated in the karoke on friday night, and went out on the saturday and sunday night of our holiday. The entertainment during the day was available, but we didn't use it. At 10 am the song "good morning, good morning" played out to all the sunbathers, trying to encourage taking parts in sports and activities. But they only hassled via the loud speaker a few times a day the rest of the time they played music quite softly, enough to enjoy, but not loud enough to annoy you. I put the ipod in and slept the day away.

The pool was nice, cold and although very deep, big enough for people to play in and others to relax in.

I would definately recommend the hotel for a nice relaxing break in the beautiful sunshine of the Algarve!

Room clean and tidy.
Towels changed daily.
Resterant food good but get thier early for meals as food is only replenished slowly.

Pool bar was exellent.

The pool and gardens are fantastic.

This hotel is used by the british /germans in the main
it also contains time share apparments .but no one bother you to sell you time share.

Overall fair value for location and hotel .

We would return to this hotel but would go 1/2 board as we go out in the evenings.

The Auramar Aparthotel has to be the worst run hotel ever.

The management team are the most appalling, inept, in what could have been one of the nicest hotels not just in Portugal but on the European Mainland. They make Faulty Towers look like a well oiled machine.

The bar manager at one time was insisting on one-man-one-drink at the all inclusive bar, he was expecting guests wives to go to the bar for their own drinks. In a very badly run hotel, he wins first prize for being arrogant, conceited, rude, insulting, bad tempered, obnoxious, and an altogether unpleasant man.

The night porter came a close second to him for his outrageous threats of violence, beware !!!

The all inclusive deal was fair value for money.

The rooms and public areas were clean and comfortable.

The breakfasts and suppers were good but lunches were repetative. The one drink per armband is a bit tedious and my son had to get his own soft drink for the first few days but once we were recognised I was able to get two drinks each time.

Fantastic location above a great beach with lovely views.

Hotel staff were mostly lovely with a couple of exceptions who were disdainful at best and too authoritative at worst.

ntertainment was parochial but entertaining because of that.

Booked last minute so our expectations were low.

My first time in Portugal and I was very impressed. Hotel and resort we found to be spotless.

Hotel position and rooms were very airy with good facilities and layout. Rooms and pool overlooking the sea with fabulous relaxing views. A lot of steps for anyone with mobility problems.

Weather was hot and sunny throughout our stay. We were half board and found the food good with enough variety - the buffet lunch and drinks were excellent value - cheaper than outside the hotel in many instances.

The bar staff were very friendly and accomodating, the dining room staff did their best but were very busy. We normally holiday in the Caribbean 4+ plus, we would definately visit this hotel again and found it very impressive for a 3*

Food was excellent, plenty of choice even at lunch times when although there were burgers every day there were also 2 other choices of meat dishes and a fish dish.

Hotel was very clean.

Excellent location just above the beach on the cliff and near to the strip.

Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Entertainment left a lot to be desired and was mostly in German. A couple of nights the show was OK but it didn't really bother us anyway.

We would definitely visit this hotel again. We always got sunbeds and there were plenty left until about lunchtime, even then you could always get a sunbed by the small indoor pool at any time of the day. The outdoor pool was never crowded and at most we counted about 35 people in there at the busiest time of the day.

It was the first time we have booked an All Inclusive holiday and would recommend anyone doing the same at this hotel. Found the cleanliness to be excellent. Towels changed daily, sheets twice weekly, toilet rolls left in abundance. Plenty choice of food and lots of it available throughout the whole of the day. One of us is a vegetarian and found there was enough choice for this option but only if you eat fish but pasta, rice and vegetables, plenty available. The hotel is high up overlooking the beach and sea and we did find it windy at the time of year we visited but this would probably be wonderful in the peak season. Most of the staff were friendly and extremely helpful but we did find a couple who were not so helpful but we did enjoy our stay immensley and would visit this hotel again.
