Munnar. This was a new hotel and some building work was still being carried out although this didn't spoil our stay.

We had a fantastic room overlooking the tea plantations and the waterfall from our balcony. Our room was spacious and clean. Newspapers were delivered to our room before breakfast. The rooms were in chalets dotted around the grounds. There was a lookout tower within the complex, separate restaurant and disco. We had heaters in our room as it was quite cold in Munnar but we didn't find we needed to use them. There was also a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities and TV showing local programmes. All in all a nice spacious room with a seating area as well to relax.

The only down side was the restaurant which was freezing. This was a shame as we had a buffet meal which was very nice but because we were cold it spoilt our enjoyment and we couldn't wait to get back to our room so therefore never got to try out the disco.

Eco-friendly hotel with great views.

The Cloud 9 is some distance from Munnar perhaps as much as 30 minutes drive. It is , as the name suggests in a very panoramic position.

The surrounding countryside is spectacular with distant views to mountain ranges and lake. It is in the middle of nowhere so an overnight stay is sufficient.

The hotel is clean and modern, the rooms are perfectly adequate in almost a cottage style interior but layout is similar to a motel.

As previously mentioned it can get cold in the evenings due to the altitude.

The buffet meal was good but amongst our poorest dining experiences during our holiday. The food in Kerela is usually excellent !

There was no bar and my enquiry for a drink with the meal didn't meat any response.

I don't think they have a licence. However, they did deliver bottles of beer to the room.

Service was a bit slow so I would order on check in and request a few bottles with the tops left on !
