| said: My 15 year old daughter and I spent a few nights at Udai Kothi in the absolutely charming town of Udaipur. It was fantastic! I cannot say enough about this hotel. Very beautiful, 4 or 5 story white marble palace. There is a quite simply stunning rooftop pool and restaurant, with views of Lake Pichola and the Lake Palace. The food was amazing. On our last night there, we went up to the rooftop restaurant where they had a buffet dinner with the BEST fish dish I have ever had. There were musicians, and during the meal fireworks went off over the lake. It was the perfect ending to our stay, we just wished we had more time.
The location is very good. You can walk to just about everything in town, including the City Palace and the boat jetties for the lake tours. There is a taxi driver outside the hotel named Davi - he has a car and a tuk-tuk, and he is very nice and honest. He will take you everywhere you need to go - we used him for our entire trip.
Daisy works in the hotel and seems to keep everything together. Everyone is very attentive but unobtrusive. we absolutely loved this hotel and didn't want to leave - it was the highlight of our trip through Rajasthan. Highly recommended!
