We have just returned from cay beach, and like all the others we had read the reviews before we went, but as we booked late this hotel was all that was available to us, and I have to say we will not be going back to this hotel.

The complex is clean, and the rooms were cleaned, but not very well. We had a towel change twice and our sheets changed just once that was in our 2 week stay.

The book advertises that they have hydro beds, whirlpool bath and a waterfall and some other stuff but nothing worked, the hydro beds had no water in, the whirlpool bath worked once then broke (nobody fixed it).

The sunbeds are a plenty but be aware most are broken, also you have to get up around 7am to get a sunshade as there is not many about!

We hired a car for 5 days and went out and about as the hotel is about 20 mins walk from any shops.

Faro 2 was ok but we found it a bit run down!! Take a taxi to playa del ingles its much better and only 3 euro's.

The self catering was bad we had 5 people in our room and it had 1 small saucepan and a cooking pot, with just 4 knifes and forkes!!!

If your looking for a holiday where you just sit around the pool all day and stay in all night then this is the hotel for you!!.

Just returned from the Cay Beach Princess on 3rd November 2007. I have to say, that we went with some trepidation, as the reviews that we read beforehand ranged from excellent to poor. We arrived on Saturday 27th October and were immediately impressed with the place. The reception area was spacious, airy and spotlessly clean and the receptionist checking us in was friendly and efficient. We were given bungalow 113, set at the back of the complex, with the small patio area overlooking the adjoining hotel complex. Whilst it was restfully quiet here, the patio never got the sun, so this was a bit of a disappointment. However, the pool area was expansive and never too busy. The bungalow itself was fine. We had a one bedroom family job that was just big enough for two adults and our two children, aged 11 and 12. It was clean and tidy and the cleaning staff were in everyday (except Sunday) to clean, change the towels, bedding etc. In fact, they worked very hard indeed to keep the whole complex in good shape.
The pool area and general complex facilities are very impressive, and I think it is this that enables the 4 star rating... though personally, I would just about give it a 3 star. Having said that, we were happy to stay there and would do so again. In fairness, you would have to have extremely high expectations of the place to be disappointed, particularly bearing in mind that it is a family facility. We noticed that a fair few Spanish families decended on the place on Thursday and in fact had a family of five move in next door. We found the children to be boisterous in the extreme, and the adults aloof and arrogant. They certainly seemed to feel that they were to given preferential treatment to us "foreigners".
I must say that we tried the breakfast in the hotel on 2 different mornings and would report that it didn't suit us in terms of choice. It was aimed, primarily, I would suspect, at the German/Scandinavian market, where cold meats prevail.... Just not for me or my family.
Whenever I go to Gran Canaria, I always gravitate a couple of times during the week to my favourite restaurant... the Greek Taverna on the ground floor of the San Agustin commercial Centre... if you can, give it a try. The food is authentic and excellent! Try the Kleftiko or Gyros dishes!
As mentioned elsewhere, the complex is a little bit out of the way, with the Faro 2 Shopping complex being a good 15 to 20 minute walk away. We hired a car for the week, so there was no problem in getting about. I can imagine though, that taxi costs could soon mount up. There was excellent parking facilities for the privately hired car, which seemed limited in the other resorts that we visited, including Playa Del Ingles, Amadores, Puerto Rico and Meloneras.
The weather all week was fantastic... in the high 20's during the day and 18 or 19 degrees at night, which is still t-shirt weather.

All in all, I would recommend these bungalows for a family holiday and would suggest, if possible to hire a car to get about.

on arrival the reception was small but very clean, there were a couple of computers for internet usage, a whole range of handy leaflets and a seating area. as everyone else has mentioned we were handed a map. we found our bungalow easily(the place isnt that big)and found it to be clean and very spacious and not a cockroach or ant to be found anywhere.
The location of the bungalows is not for beach lovers as it is a couple kms away but we dont do the sand and sea much so it was ideal for us, although the accomodation offers a free bus starting at about 10am and the last bus back around 4pm.
As we were self catering we often ate in the resturant for breakfast 5.50 EUROS FOR ADULTS AND 2.75 FOR KIDS....only down fall was cold baked beans but hey ho if the spanish eat cold beans so can i.
The accomodation shop was full of nice things grocery wise but look out it has a down stairs...a treasure trove of heinz baked beans, tins of tuna, and of course cat food for the resident moggys that were happy to play "ive got no home and no one loves me"
As to the pool and its area....the pool is ample and not really that cold, im only 5`5 and at any depth...just enough to cover my blushes!
There were ample sunbeds/loungers..but some could have done with a little more shade for those of us whom is a little sun shy.
Evening entertainment was fine with us(but we bank on making our own fun)...bingo, kids party dancing,a snake charmer ect and it was nice to see the locals entertain us rather than the reps.
I found the staff amazing, they were just so happy to help, nothing was a problem for them...and all i could manage was a feeble "gracias"
we as a party didnt fall for it but i bet many do, but our rep harked on about a free day out to amfi de mar....the sand is white as its shipped in from the bahams ect ect.....dont fall for it....its a time share trap.
all in all if i ever go to gran canaria again, yes i would stay at the cay princess bungalows.

We booked a late deal 4t with thomson. we were quite impressed when we arrived.

The bungalow we had (125) was very clean and recently refurbished. it had everything we needed. we did however had one problem, the bedroom had lots of ants around the bedhead that was attached to the wall. we informed reception and they came within 5 mins and sorted it and the ants never came back.

The facilities at the hotel were quite good. everything seemed to be kept in good condition and clean. the pool area was lovely although you have to be careful you dont slip. We had a baby with our party and there were some rude guests that put sunbeds in the way so you couldnt get up the ramps. Also we needed shade for the little one so had to get up early for the sunbeds, we got up at 7 or 8 every morning and there was still days we couldnt get a bed with shade. there were some rude guests taking our towels off our beds too. one day we were sat by the pool at 9.30am and decided to go in about 12.30 because of the heat for the baby, we came back out at 3pm and all our towels were chucked onto 1 bed and the others taken so BEWARE.

The rep seemed nice until we said we dont want any trips. I then asked about some nice restaurants and he said I only do restaurants in the evening!!! also we get a bit fed up with his welcome meeting the same talk 3 times a week.

The bungalows are in the middle of nowhere. 20 mins walk to the nearest restaurants. taxi's are cheap but the cost mounts up.

Would not say these bunglows are 4t more like the official rating of 3*

Would not reccomend because of the location.

Me and my boyfriend travelled to this hotel in December for my birthday, when we arrived my first thought was this is lovely, the reception is nice and clean and the staff are nice, we were given our room key and a small map for where to go.

The resort is like a maze lots of little walk ways so it took us 15 minutes to find our room which was right at the back of the resort which was perfect for us as there was no neighbours and the sun stayed in our front garden till at least 6pm.

The room it's self was fantastic, we were given a family room and we counted 7 beds so plenty of room, the kitchen was great and they even have a free microwave which you dont get in other self catering apartments, there is plenty of space in the wardrobes for at least 4 people and the bedroom is of a nice size.

If you are visiting this apartment and are likely to stay in and watch telly think again well not unless you are Spanish or German as the only 2 English channels they have are CNN and Euro sport.

The pool was massive but extremely cold (what do you expect for the time of month), but there is a smaller pool by the Jacuzzi which was heated.
The pool restaurant was nice and the food was very nice.

The location of the hotel is not great but the main supermartes and shops are within walking distance about 10-15 minutes, or you could just hop in a taxi they are very cheap.

If you want to have a great night out then there is a bar called Big Bens in playa del ingles that you could go too, just get a taxi to drop you off outside Jardin Del Sol and then ask someone for Big Bens and they will take you to it, the staff there are fantastic, phil behind the bar and the quiz master himself Kam it is a really great night out.

I would visit this accommodation again in the future.

We booked a very last minute holiday - "4T don't know where you're going till you get there" so was very disappointed when we arrived at Cay Beach Princess to find it is only officially rated as 3 keys. This is definately not a 4T property (having stayed at other Thomson 4T apartments many times) so don't expect 4 star luxury!

Having said that, the 2 bedroom bungalow we got was really big (could have slept 6 in total - sofa + pull-out in lounge area as well as 2 twin bedrooms) but the apartment was not clean - used cotton buds and dirty socks found under beds etc. the freezer section in fridge did not freeze water to make ice. no plug in bathroom sink. the toilet brush was disgusting.

There is no air conditioning in the bungalows which makes them rather humid and the sheets were never changed the whole week we were there. Towels changed every second day.

The pool area is great. the kids loved it. although bins not emptied regularly - litter was brimming full to overflowing.

The snack bar is really cheap and good quality food.

The entertainment is diabolical. Staff helpful and pleasant.

The bungalows are out of the way but Maspalomas in general is very quiet which means no loud noisy music all night which suited us as a family.

Taxis very cheap to get about - 2.50 Euros to Meloneras or 3.30 Euros to Playa Del Inglis. Free shuttle bus to beach which was handy.

We had fantastic weather - 7 days sunshine - 30 degrees every day and did enjoy our holiday. We would recommend Cay Beach Princess to anyone, just be prepared that it is only 3 Keys and not 4 star!

we went to this complex in july 06, on arrival it was just gone midnight and were letf to find our place on our own, getting there we found it be to very small (this was in the dark) by morning we found my daughters put me up bed to be broken with no bedding at all, after 2 nights of asking for a new camp bed and bedding we were given it. the next morning we were woken to my auntie covered in ants, all we were given were a can of ant killer, but they were still coming out thick and fast, on more investagation we found a massive whole behind one of the bed side cabninets. we complained about this and were given more spray (which didnt work) so after yet another day and me telling the manager we has pictures of the state of our bungalow we were moved to a much much nicer place. we didnt feel the bbq was worth the money. and at the time we stayed there were about 20 families feeling the same as we all did. my sons went and stayed at aonther hotel as they couldnt cope with the state of ours, we go to the canaries almost every year and i can honestly say this is far the worst place i have ever been to. im going back in 2008 and will not to returning to this place ever again. for those of you that had a nice experiance here (you were the lucky ones) many of us didnt. the entertasinment , well was a non-starter really, during the day they played the same music over and over again. the night receptionist was a very rude man. the rep we had wasnt great either but wont name names. who ever goes there and gets one of the small bungalows, i wish you well i really do, good luck to all that that go there.

This was our first visit to Gran Canaria, and we were thoroughly impressed with our accommodation.

The pool is exactly like it is in the photo in the brochure. I have never seen a pool like it, it never seemed to get overcrowded. The bridge in the middle is a real eye catcher, along with the waterfall that ran off the roof of the pool bar into the pool...very refreshing!!

Towels were changed 6 days a week, except Sundays and the apartment was also cleaned on those 6days. There is a pool bar which serves food, along with a restaurant inside. The pool bar food was excellent and very reasonable.

The location was relatively quiet, but many of the shops were not within walking distance. However, taxis were extremely cheap ,with the minimum fare costing between 1.90 euros and 2.40euros, with your closest shops being in Faro2 Shopping Centre.

Staff were excellent, always friendly and helpful.

There were two entertainers who provided daily entertainment...daily activities as well as evening entertainment.

After reading the bad reviews on this site about the bungalows I was very anxious about my holiday but decided a holiday is what you make it and not what your accommodation is all about!

On arrival to Cay beach princess bungalows I soon discovered the rooms were very shabby but don't be alarmed as out of the 80 odd bungalows there are only 20 shabby bungalows and these are the smaller bungalows!

If you are travelling say 2 adults and 2 kids you will recieve a larger bungalow, the nicer ones!

As for the surroundings the pool area is gorgeous waterfalls, jacuzzi! Its brilliant and sun loungers are not a problem there is plenty!

The entertainment at the hotel is dyer! For a good night out for adults or kids head along to Holiday World - 5 minute walk or 1 min in a taxi!

Good British pub with entertainment and there is bowling and a theme park open til 11pm! The food at holiday world is excellent as well and for a cheap price.

The daytime food at the bungalows from the poolside bar is very nice, very cheap as well but don't eat from the restaurant at night! Food is disgusting!

The bungalows are very close to all things necessary 5 mins in taxi to Playa del Ingles and 5 mins taxi to centre of Maspalomas - sand dunes!

Staff at the bungalows are very friendly except for the night receptionist he is very rude! Be sure to take some bug killer as there are alot of ants inside and surrounding the bungalows!

The holiday was good overall I was very upset when I first arrived due to the state of the bungalow but I soon forgot about it and I was hardly in my bungalow anyway was usually out sunbathing, shopping etc so don't get upset just enjoy your holiday and make it your own!

Hope this helped!

My sister and I stayed in the Cay Beach for a week in January 2006. We were allocated a small apartment when we arrived which was very clean and a good standard. However, our neighbours were extremely loud and unsociable.

After two days of walking around the apartment with our earphones in due to continual shouting and screaming, I decided enough was enough.

I spoke to the hotel manager who was extremely helpful and i stressed that the family next door were ruining our holiday.

He had received various complaints from other guests, so upgraded us to a large apartment in a quiet area of the complex. This is where our holiday started!!! Very spacious and no need for earphones as we were detached from next door.

The pool area was beautiful, we made good use of the heated pool and jacuzzi. We even ventured into the rather chilly main pool to show the boys up!

The location wasn't fantastic, but it was a short walk to faro shopping centre and a lovely walk to the beach. A taxi into playa del ingles costs about 2 euros, great for the night life.

The hotel staff were inefficient at times, but the manager was a reasonable man. The cats not so reasonable as they constantly chased me round the complex!

I would return here again in the future.

We stayed in a 1 bedroomed apartment for 2-5 people.

We were very happy with the accommodation. It was very clean and adequate for the two of us. Do take a travel kettle with you, the hob kettles they provide take at least 20 minutes to boil, thats with just enough water for 2 drinks!

The walls are quite thin and we had a screaming toddler and baby in the bungalow next to us, it was impossible to sleep in the bedroom, so we moved into the lounge. This was O.K. though, the beds are very firm but comfortable enough.

The pool area is lovely, reception and everywhere very clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly to us. Pool bar food adequate but didn't try the restaurant.

The evening entertainment was very poor, I'm not even sure if it happened! The odd act was advertised as being on in the evenings, but when we walked by there was never anyone in there!

Most people go to the Maspalomas Princess hotel, the entertainment was good in there and every night we saw people from our accommodation in there.

It is a good walk to get anywhere, the nearest bars etc are in the Faro 2 centre about 15-20 minutes away. This didn't bother us as we like to walk about and Taxis are only 3 euros anyway.

Thomson's have rated this as a 4T, the official rating is a 3*, and I would say this is accurate. Having said this, it is a very good 3* complex.

We would happily return.

We Booked the cay princess in july 2005.

On arrival we were not impressed with the bungalow.
The the deco was very shabby ie peeling paint and fist marks in the walls.

The staff were all friendly and very helpful. Beautiful pool and all in all a nice complex.

Position is secluded but we know the area and getting around is cheap by taxi or if you like to walk its all very flat.

Faro 2 shopping centre is 5 mins away and there is free transport to the beach.

Im sure that at sometime these bungalows were very nice but they are in desperate need of a make over.

Even though they looked shabby the level of cleanlines was very good. My remarks were past on to the tour operator I would return to this property but not at full brocher price. Overall Clean

Good points....

Good rooms
Clean
Staff are friendly
Well planned residence
Pool is fab but cold
Beer cheap

Bad points....

Food, cold and inedible most of the time.
Middle of nowhere, taxi to everywhere
Full of Germans who nick sunbeds
Bit like a retirement village (no disrespect to old peeps)
The reps don't give you enough info or drop you off when you first get there, its the bus driver that does it!!!

Overall, would come again if self catering, good enough for a late deal!

Rooms were quite shabby, not 3 star standard, in need of re-decoration.

Visited restaurant on 1st night the buffet food was cold and inedible.

The entertainment was the worst I have ever known, very repetitive and boring, the mini disco at night was the same music every night. It seems that not much effort is made to entertain the guests.

The staff are very friendly and the pool area is lovely, it is a pity that certain aspects of the hotel do not come up to standard and we will not be booking again.

I dont usually write on these things, but was reading the reviews before travelling and after we booked and noted the comment about location is not great.

For me the location was excellent, less than 10mins to Playa de Ingles by taxi and 5mins to Maspolomas beach and resturant and shopping area, which is a must to visit expecially at night.

The water park is also less than 10mins by taxi. (Taxis are so cheap) Didn't go to Puerto Rico, but if you are going to complain about how long it takes to get to another resort, why not stay in that resort instead! Faro 2 shopping and restaurant area is only 10mins walk from the complex.

I couldnt have been happier with everything about the complex. The bungalows were clean and spacious and modern.

The Pool area was amazing, including the jacuzzis, and we always found a sunbed without getting up at 6am. The staff were friendly, but agree the reception staff didnt speak much English, but the pool team and entertainment team spoke good english and made the kids feel really relaxed and welcome.

We will be going back to this resort and Maspalomas again next year.

Apartments very nice and clean. Got towels changed regularly but our bed linen was only changed once over two weeks.

It is a bit far from all the shops and hiring a car makes it much easier to get around.

Staff don’t speak much English so don’t talk that much, but if you speak Spanish they are very friendly and talk all the time. English speaking reception staff very helpful.

There are a lot of cats around and if you're not looking, they will come into your room so not a great place to go if you are allergic to cats.

Lots of entertainment for the kids, painting, darts, minigolf and mini disco every night. They animation crew who provided all the entertainment were great and friendly. For the older people there is an aqua gym everyday, football, archery, rifle shooting which was fantastic.

Food was average, nearly same dessert every night though.

Our rep, mark, was great, very helpful and friendly and always was around if you needed any advice or information on where to go.

Overall our holiday was good, but that was down to ourselves rather than what the hotel provided.

Accommodation was attractive, bungalows spacious. Kitchen facilites poor for self catering, no oven just 2 ring hob and microwave oven. Although we found eating out cheaper than self catering.

Pool was wonderful, very clean and large. limited amount of comfortable sun beds which were soon taken up by early risers putting towels on as early as 6am.

Staff friendly and helpful, shop on site good. Entertainment poor... 1 show per week which lasted 40 mins. and 15 minutes bingo or quiz every night. Bar good but outside by pool so served drinks in plastic or cardboard cups.
Football and pool water polo every morning and painting for small kids everyday.... other than this nothing else.
Taxi's very cheap and plently available so make sure you get out and about lots to see and do.

We all enjoyed our stay at the cay beach. The location is not fantastic but we hired a car so that was not a problem for us.The rooms were clean but the pool was the main feature for the kids, a bit cold but warmer than the north sea in march, once your in it`s fine.

The evening entertainment was not fantastic although the kids enjoyed it through the day. Most of the staff were not that friendly even when I tried my spanish on them.

I think if you like to sunbathe in a nice setting around the pool in a peaceful location and the kids are safe running around the complex, then this is for you. We only really used the hotel a base.

I would go back with the family but only if i had a vehicle.

Kitchen appliances were very basic and needed updating unless you were cooking just a snack type meal.

Although cleaners came in on a regular basis it was not very thorough, staff were very friendly except receptionist.

Location was a bit remote but that was what we wanted away from the Playa de Ingles type of environment. We eat out at Faro 2 and the better class restaurants south of the lighthouse, which were so much better.

The hotel's own rating was 3 keys, Thompson’s rated it as 4 star, it was more like 2 star, there appears to be two different grades of accommodation. The ones for two adults + child have the appearance of being quite old and well worn inside and have quite small kitchen/lounge area and only deserve 2 star rating. The 4 adult + accommodation is of a much better quality and appearance but still only deserves 3 star rating.

If you like CNN news and eurosport the TV progs. Will suit you, other than that you need to speak German or Spanish.

All requests for the better bungalows were met with demands for extra money despite late deals.com selling them all as 4 star.

My first visit was a late deal. I was very impressed with the rooms so I booked again 3 holidays. Did not realise there were 2 types of rooms and was very disappointed on return.

The smaller bungalows can only be described as garages. Paid to upgrade but found it a bit sickening when late bookers were getting best rooms for half the price.

Loved the complex but would not book again because of unfairness of room allocation

This was our third visit, bringing other members of our family. Highly recommended if you like a quiet resort. Plenty to do and see only a taxi ride away. Pool was cold but it was November.

Staff always polite and friendly. Maid service excellent and linen changed as specified. Alex the entertainer had a varied programme only hampered by lack of people. (You can't play football with 3 people!).

We met 3 families we have met there before and we will be back again next year.

We thought this was a great place to stay. Spacious and clean pool area combined with good facilities and a decent daytime entertainment programme run by Alex.

It's great for young kids and everyone, staff and other guest, were really friendly.

We would definately go back.

We stayed on a half board basis which was well worth the money and convenience.

The bungalows themselves were very very clean, towels changed every other day and bedding once (we only stayed for a week).

The pool and grounds were lovely (pool a bit cold in October though!!). People were putting towels on sunbeds at 8 in the morning, although there were enough for everyone (not so sure in height of summer though).

The bungalows were a bit remote, although 20 minute walk to the Faro Centre (or about 2euros). The shopping centre at the Lighthouse was nicer and more scenic.

Alex the entertainer was brilliant although entertainment had to be changed sometimes due to lack of guests staying in the evenings. Water polo, football etc was also well organized.

This is a fantastic place to visit, on the outskirts of Maspalomas - only 3 euros by taxi to Playa De Ingles and the Lighthouse (El Faro).

The pool area is excellent, the accomodation superbly clean, the entertainment in the evening is excellent, with Alexis being a great compere.

The kids loved the pool, the facilities - football, water polo, pool tables, the pool bar for snack food - and the shops and markets.

The BBQ nights were great with juicy steaks cooked to perfection as well as chicken and pork. Otherwise the restaurant was generally empty with people choosing to dine out in the towns.

The hotel staff were always pleasant and helpful.

There's a great little shop on the side of the facility which was always manned by a friendly face.

I thought Cay Beach was excellent, so the kitchen equipment wasn't the best but the resturants were really cheap and the food was fantastic!

As for the pools they were lovely and so was the entertainment we got involved in couples games and all sorts of things the hotel staff were nice and the taxis were really cheap

Stayed at the Cay Beach Princess Bungalows in Maspaloms, Self catering appliances here were very good, clean and modern, Although the kettle took a long time to boil ! The rooms in the bungalow were very spacious and absolutley sparklikg clean, with cleaners in 6 times a week. The hotel food was beautiful, with a choice of a buffet, or a fantastic and value for money menu. The location is alright aswell as it only costs 3 Euros to get to the Yumbo centre in a taxi, and there is plenty to do all around you, although it might look a bit barron outside the hotel. Hotel staff were fantastic, very helpfull and friendly, The entertainment were realy good aswell, some people on here say they played the same c.d but they didn't when we were there, there was loads to do for kids mainly but water polo and footy, archery and air gun comps were mixed for both adults and kids, among with other activities. There is no question if i would visit again, The answer is a big FAT YES !!!!!!

Cay Beach Princess Bungalows

Good size pools, and once saving of sun loungers were sorted out very pleasent to laze by.

Pool bar was sometimes taking too long to serve. Although food was OK.

Location was out of main resort area but only a few euros by taxi if you wanted the night life.

Evening entertainment could be improved, we would have stayed back at the complex on more evenings.

We would return, in fact some of our party it was their 3rd visit.

you cannot self cater at this location (in the sense of cooking for yourself) as the equipment in the kitchen is not good enough.there are 2 electric rings and a microwave.the rings have to be the slowest i have ever seen taking 2 hours to cook some bacon and one and a half to boil a kettle (no i'm not joking).

the rooms that sleep 4 adults are the best of the bunch.if you have children over the age of 6 you will need one of these. the rooms that sleep 2 adults and one child are inadequate and quite small as well as being quite scruffy looking.we upgraded ours to one of the better ones as the one we were given was not good at all.

the pool area is very good and spacious although there can be a contest for the pool beds.the pool bar is a bit of a lottery at times with some of the staff seeming to charge different prices.thomson in their brochure give this 4 stars they must be joking!! i have stayed in 4 star before and this does not come close.

the maid service is also a bit hit or miss the linen for example is supposed to be changed twice a week but wasn't, i'm not sure they cleaned when they were supposed either which was supposed to be 4 times a week.

its located in quite a good spot nice and quiet a short taxi ride from maspalomas faro(costs around 3 euros) which is adjacent to the light house and is a very nice area. the beach is fantastic with the sand dunes behind it.the faro has a smart row of shops and restaurants, the italian is very good.however if you turn left at the lighthouse and follow the signs to the beach there is another small row of shops and restaurants that are slightly cheaper but still good with the waiters offering you free drinks to entice you in.

the food in the cay beach is ok but nothing brilliant the empty restaurant was not unusual.the food in the pool bar was also typical pub type fare good for kids, burgers chips etc.

the weather while we were there august 5th for 2 weeks was extremely hot indeed.which although good in the day at night it was very hot with fans needed as there is no air conditioning which this place could do with.i got the feeling also at this place that they charged you for everything.there is a charge of 25 euros per fan for 2 weeks and a deposit.

they have a crazy golf course in the grounds and charge for its use!! needless to say it was always empty, tennis courts also always empty.i would visit maspalomas again as it is a lovely resort suitable for families and it is slightly more upmarket than nearby playa del ingles, however i will not be visiting Cay Beach Bungalows again.

We returned to the Princess Bungalows, as we had an amazing time once before. This time due to BRITS not Germans hogging sunbeds, towels being put out at 1:00 am and even beds being taken to bungalows and carried out in the mornings it was impossible to spend a relaxing day by the pool, but probably the most annoying were the people who put their towels out and then returned to the resort at 6:00pm, picked them up and returned to their bungalow. Management and tour rep were approached (not just by us) and even asked for more sunbeds. Their attitude was "its not allowed just move them!". Who wants a row over that on their holiday?

Didn't see any security guard, but quite agree over the lack of entertainment, this is a truly beautiful complex and just maybe with sun bed patrol and a little entertainment it could be the perfect holiday

It was very clean. The entertainment lacked variety but is great if you like 'i am the music man' and other similar party tunes. Therefore mainly for kids. The security guard was very grumpy and generally very unhelpful. All other staff were great. The pool is brilliant and would be the main reason for visiting again.

A lovely complex with great potential which sadly hasn't been tapped. Superb pools including hydro beds and huge jacuzzi.
It is located in a quieter area of the resort but with cheap taxis it is so easy to get to the hotspots for £2.
In gereral the hotel staff are excellent, however two notable exceptions make the stay miserable viz. the previously referred to grumpy security guard who works 8pm-8am and has for some reason decided he is commandant of a POW camp when on duty; the unfriendly waitress/barmaid (heavier of the 3) who can take 20 (yes twenty) minutes to serve a beer! The others make up for this with their frienly smiles and efficient service.
The entertainment is chaotic and bears no resemblence to that advertised in the lobby. To keep your sanity, go out at night otherwise the constant repetition of 'superman', 'pianoman', and other BlackLace flops will ensure you leave in a straight jacket.
In summary, this place would be fabtastic if the management took note of and dealt with the two recurring complaints regards particular staff members and entertainment.

The Cay Beach Princess bungalows are very clean and spacious. The location of the hotel means you have to take taxis to Playa del Ingles or Maspalomas.
There was very little entertainment at night.
The bungalows are in lovely setting and are all single
storey. There is a large pool and pool side bar serving
snacks from 10am to 6pm.The hotel provide free tickets
for the bus to Maspolamas beach which run every hour from 10am.

We stayed at Princess Bungalows - the staff were lovely and the complex and bungalows were very clean indeed. The swimming pools were top rate and the food at the poolside bar was good, the site shop was very well stocked and reasonably priced. We mainly went to the restaurant for our evening meal and again this was reasonably priced and the food of good quality, the staff were very helpful and obviously liked children. The only downside on this holiday was the location, once outside the complex it was very barren with nothing much to do in the evening unless you took a taxi and then you were surrounded by shopping centres. If I could pick the complex up and put it down in a better location I would go again.

The bungalows were lovely, clean and perfectly adequate for the two of us. We even had a little porch out the front to sit on in the evening after dinner.

The pool is the best I have seen, or experienced, before or since. It is so big and wonderfully refreshing after a few hours sunbathing. We didnt have any issues with getting a sunbed, maybe it has got more popular since we stayed?

The only thing I would say is that the entertainment is non existant, we werent bothered as got a cab into Playa de Ingles every night. Cab only cost a few euros and there are plenty of bars & restuarants to while away the evening. Taxi rank right outside on the main road so very easy to get back again in the evening. On a few occassions we even walked back, only took about 30 mins.

Would recommend this complex to anyone, very good.

Have been back to this complex now 7 times we love the place, the pool is out of this world. you could be laid by any pool in any place any where in the world. from the pool all you can see are palm trees and the bungalows around the pool, heaven!!!! Entertainment not the best in the world , but if you want it get yourself into p ingles. for a good night out. The staff are very friendly and helpful, apart from the old fat grumpy security guard, but hey you carnt have everything can you ? I would really recomend this to an family wanting a nice relaxing holiday. NO GERMANS NO Towels on lounges, lots and lots of space and lounges for all

We stayed at the princess bungalows for 2 weeks and my sister and I had an excellent time my mum also enjoyed the peace and quiet.

The only problem we had involved Mario the night time receptionist/moaner. We had met about 15 other teenagers and were going out every night and when we returned he was always ready for a moan.

Good for teens to meet people. Shame on Mario. Xx
