Pool fantastic although a little cold. Views outstanding, food was lovely with plenty of choice. Rooms were large and kept spotless.
Our favourite spot was the breakfast area overlooking the sea with splended views.
Weather was fantastic ranging from 22deg to 29 deg.We didn't go anywhere as we enjoyed this hotel so much.
Staff were very polite and friendly.
Would definately go back.

| said: We have just returned from our 3rd winter break at this hotel.
Once again the whole holiday has been great.
We were welcomed with a bottle of Champagne in our room as returning guests. Not a great deal in an all inclusive hotel but it shows some thought has gone into it. We requested (by e-mail) a room in a certain area of the hotel and got exactly the one I asked for. (7301 great views of sea pool area and coast line towards sotavento beach.)
I posted a review of this hotel 2 years ago (on another review site) and was amazed when I read some of the reviews on this and other sites regarding the refurbishment of the pool areas. I found that it was done in such a way that it caused little or no problem. There is so much space around the pool area that you can be away from any work area as these were closed off areas anyway.
This hotel is open all year round so how people expect this routine maintenance to be carried out is beyond me.
The food is varied and very good it offers a wide range and caters for all tastes.
People have also commented on how the Germans seem to dominate the place, they are the majority but are not any different than anyone else on holiday there.
There is an area at the bottom end of the pool areas that is sectioned off and is designated as a naturist area. There is also a sauna and steam room for guests in this area.No one bothers if you go in there keep you shorts or bathing costume on, but some protocol is expected.(sit or lie on a towel with feet on it as well, to absorb sweat) I feel this should be stated at the welcome meeting to save any embarrassment.
The walk to Jandia is fantastic along the beach. You can feed the chipmunks along the way.
Jandia is a resort that caters mainly for Germans but a bar with a beer is a bar with a beer.
The entertainment in the hotel this year was better than last with a Drifters tribute, Tropicana dancers and a comedy Acrobat troop that were good, we gave the Animation teams efforts a miss and enjoyed a beer in the Coco Loca Bar (thanks Eric).
This hotel is great for anyone looking to chill out and relax for a week. I would not think it would suit teenagers looking for some lively entertainment, but for a winter break it fits the bill to a tee.

| said: Stayed here for a week at the beginning of December and will definitely return. After staying at the other two large resorts on the island Jandia definately had the edge.
The hotel is about 8km outside the town in a fantastic position above the beach. There are no bars shops or restaurant in the vicinity however you dont need them as you stay all inclusive.
Could not fault the rooms or the facilities - food and drink is plentiful and adequate. More than enough choice at mealtimes however we found we were not hungry at the end of the week as we had never taken this option before and would normally not eat three cooked meals a day but could imagine after two weeks it would be repetitive.
Several bars to choose from and there was entertainment though we never stayed around preferring wine on the balcony.
The beach was wonderful and you could just walk and walk (watch out for the naturists though) - a pleasant walk into Jandia and you could feed the chipmunks on the way. Jandia was a pleasant enough town but we were glad we were not staying here.
Lots of gift shops and perfume shops. A taxi into the town was not much dearer than the bus and was quicker - we also took advantage of the supermarkets for some wine etc for the room as it was much cheaper than the shop at the hotel - no they dont like you taking too much at the bar!
If you want a peaceful relaxing holiday and do not mind being with other Europeans this is a great place to go.

They have written at the last minute and my only option is to cancel, or pay more to stay at a nearby hotel.
So the moral of the story is not to book with Portland!

| said: My friend and I stayed in this hotel for a week at the end of May and found the hotel to be well worth the money. I was away whilst it was my birthday and the hotel gave me a bottle of champagne. The food at the hotel was fantastic with a great selection for everyone. For families, the animacion team worked very hard throughout the day with the miniclub and on an evening providing entertainment for children. Because of this it was often nice and quiet round the pool without the noisy kids!
Our Thomson rep was more than helpful throughout the week and always there if we needed anything. Overall i would definately recommend this hotel and will be returning myself.
The constant breeze was lovely but anyone travelling in the summer months needs to be aware that it gets extremely windy then. Really cools you down though!!!
The only piece of advice to take is that this is a more German orientated resort, and some of the Spanish staff look at you funny when you ask for the simpliest things. If you dont mind the Germans definately visit this resort!

| said: The hotel was very clean, and the food of good quality, although after two weeks we had had our fill.
The location wasn't too bad although there are no bars close by, taxi's are cheap to the town. The entertainment was okay, some show's very entertaining.
The hotel staff were friendly and pleasant, the kids club was very good, my children enjoyed it very much. They made some friends and wanted to attend every session.
The daytime activities were also good, rifle shooting, archery etc. We visited this hotel last year this is why we returned this year, the all-inclusive was very good and inprovments made from our last visit.
I would recommend this hotel, but maybe 11 nights would have suited us better. Improvements for the future would be a tv room available with sky sports to enable guest the watch the football, even if a small charge appied.
We found that the bars were expensive for drinks in the town.

| said: We stayed at this hotel about 3 years ago and found it excellent, hence the return visit.
When booking online we selected half board allowing us to choose to have lunch on the beach, in town or at the hotel.
The hotel offers an 'All Inclusive' option. During the week it was apparent we were the only ones half board.
Several of the bars did not take money so we were limited where get drinks as well as tea and coffee.
The lunch again was setup for 'All Inclusive', we generally had to wait 30-40 minutes for the simple order to be served.
The staff were good at what they did, for example in the resturant they cleared and rest table quickly, but struggle to open a bottle of wine!
The above are minor niggles, but for a hotel of this quality you would expect better.
The house keeping was excellent as were the facilities.

| said: Just come back from this hotel having visited once before on a half board basis back in December 2003. I must admit I was a little worried given some of the comments on here. I had absolutely no need to be worried, we had a great time.
The food was lovely and plenty of variety, OK it wouldn't win any Michelin stars but there was something for even the most fussy eater.
Always plenty of salad dishes, casserole's and roast meat's and fish. For me the pudding's were not that great but then Ive never visited anywhere that the desserts have been outstanding.
Wine, beer, water or juices with your meal and a choice of drinks from the all inclusive drinks menu in the various bar's. One person did comment about the lack of seating around the outdoor bar areas at night and a couple of nights we did struggle to get a seat.
This is probably as a result of the hotel becoming a no smoking hotel so all the smokers have to pile outside. On a lighter note, if it was a particularly naff night for entertainment, most of our German friends were watching it so an outside table was not a problem! I can see that when the hotel is running at capacity, i.e. in July and August there would be problems with queuing for drinks and again the outdoor seating.
For this reason I would not visit the hotel during peak periods. Not a problem for us as we've no kids.
The rooms were cleaned every day and we had no complaints there. The hotel probably does need a little cosmetic work (10 years old) but a couple of cracked tiles or a bit of peeling paint doesn't bother me and the hotel is still lovely.
Hotel staff were very helpful and courteous and that included everyone! not one bad experience with any of the staff so enough said.
Aaah the entertainment. A lot of the visitors to the hotel are German and I suppose the hotel has to cater for all taste's.
There was a really good Platters tribute band on one night and that was it for us. The rest of it was Abba and African dancers (actually very good).
The bingo was diabolical, its amazing just how competitive people can be when a T shirt is at stake! There are lots of activities on throughout the day like water aerobics, football etc but I'm afraid I'm too lazy for that!
All in all we had a great holiday and would definitely go back again.

| said: We have stayed in a number of Princess hotels over the last few years and this hotel was without doubt far below the standard we have become accustomed to or expect of this chain.
As an all inclusive guest you are treated as nothing short of a second class holiday maker - no waiter service - no mats for drinks - drinks all but thrown at you across the bar - no fresh cocktails with all the trimmings.
The restaurant was dreadful and bordered on being a school canteen. Although the food was OK we never had a hot meal once or sat down to eat as a family during the entire week purely because the queues were so long and the food spread over such a large area.
If you like standing in a supermarket type queue for your drinks and food, sitting on sun loungers in the evenings (it represented a refugee camp) because there is insufficient seating inside and out then come here if not avoid it like the plague.
Fortunately, we were in a position to walk to the other Princess hotel in this resort - it was totally different - exactly what we have been used to previously and it was worth the extra expense of paying for drinks.
The hotel was very clean apart from the very large cockroach hiding in our daughters clothes in her room - fortunately on the last day. The air conditioning was broken and had been apparently for the last two weeks. (three including the week we were there.
The hotel itself is quite beautiful the grounds being surrounded by palm trees etc.
The location was rubbish - absolutely in the middle of nowhere.
Most of the staff were definitely not friendly and some were down right rude - particularly in the restaurant where you are treated as nothing short of a nuisance.
Entertainment was very poor for a Princess hotel - but in any case there was no air conditioning so it was impossible to sit in and watch.

| said: Having read the reviews of previous customers, I was looking forward to staying in a very good hotel, however I found this was quite the opposite.
The general cleanliness of the rooms was good, however everything else was poor.
The food in general was poor, with a lot of meat tasting undercooked, and most of the time at dinner there were long queues for all the buffet food.
Although the hotel is listed as all inclusive, this is only true before 11:30pm. Furthermore it seems as though every bar is understaffed as there were always long queues to get a drink. As for the pool, it always seemed to be to cold all the time which stopped a lot of people from using it.
Even the heated pool was only mildly warm. (The pool temperature were displayed at around 23-25. As for the staff, hardly any seemed to speak English and on more than one occasion did not understand what we wanted to order. Having met people who stayed in the same hotel the previous year, they seemed to agree it has gone down hill.
I would not recommend going here.

| said: We booked last minute on the internet only knowing what we had seen on this site. We were not dissapointed when we arrived. We checked in and our bags were taken to our room by the porter. The room standard was first class and very well cleaned. The hotel is all inclusive and the set up is quite good. You can take breakfast in the main restaurant or at the bar by the pool. We found this better not so many people and a chef cooked eggs and things to order. Some of the bars are only all inclusive at certain times - didn't bother us but seemed a bit pointless as people just carried in drinks from other bars.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Choice and standard of food was excellent. Restaurant staff very nice too. Some food was a little on the cool side but there were microwaves in the dining rooms to give things a quick warm through if needed.
Thomson rep very friendly and very helpful.
The main pool is pretty cold and not many used it but the beach is readily accessible though down steps or a long path round. Beach is very nice and you can walk for miles along it if you wish. a lot of naturists about but we did not find it a problem.
The weather was not very good but we enjoyed our stay.
The bar coco loco which is in the pool area was our hang out at night. The bar staff were very good and the amount of booze the dished out was amazing.
Overall Hotel facilities were good and the gardens and pool areas were immaculate.
Not a place for teenagers, no discos or bars nearby so very relaxing and peaceful - will definitely go back.

| said: We stayed at this hotel in January and had a great time, despite the weather which was sunny for a couple of days but a bit overcast the rest of the time.
Despite this our little girl spent ages on the sandy beach and loved feeding the chipmunks who live in the wall at the bottom of the steps down to the beach (dont forget to buy some nuts so you can feed them by hand!).
The rooms were fine (although we had a problem with ants the first day -but the staff soon came and sorted them out with some strong spray!). The food was great with lots of selection, very fresh and different every day. We liked the fact it was buffet as you could go and help yourself to what you wanted when you wanted it.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the two girls who ran the miniclub were fantastic with our daughter, even letting her help them with their clown make-up for the minidisco.
The hotel is in the middle of nowhere but as we have visited the island many times before and this time just wanted to go for a for a relaxing holiday it didnt matter.
I would definitely go to this hotel again and thought it was excellent value for money.

| said: The hotel was very clean, we had a fantastic time, rooms were lovely.
My daughter who is six attended the hotel run kids club, she loved it, the girls who run the club were great, a great fun and education to the young minds of the children. I would like to thank them for making my daughters holiday more enjoyable.
The weather was poor but we didn't mind because we had gone on holiday for a rest. This we got in the comfy lounge areas in the hotel.
The all inclusive range of drinks were okay, the food was great a good selection for everyone, but it was all buffet style. I asked for an omelete one morning and was told that these were only available on selected days, a pity really, because they haven't mastered the art of cooking eggs, only fried and hard boiled ones. I don't normally eat fish, but I did on this holiday. The fish was really nice a good selection everyday, from perch to salmon, even lemon sole.
I must also mention, I was a little bit worried about smoking in the hotel, I had read other reports that the entertainment rooms were full of smoke, this is now a none smoking hotel and is permitted in selected areas only, so you can enjoy the shows. Most of the bars are the same, I think it's the Spanish government that has introduced the ban. Good for them!
Be careful not to leave things unattended, my friend had her camera stolen from the table she was sat at.

| said: This is our second time at this hotel. We went back in 2003 when it was a Thomson Platinum, and on booking for the second time we were a bit unsure as to whether it would be as good now it's changed to all inclusive. Well, i can assure you it's just as good, infact it's still fantastic.
One of the most impressive hotel complexes I've ever been to absolutely beautiful hotel design and so clean everywhere.
Rooms cleaned without fail every day, bedding changed every other day, new towels every day, endless amounts of free combs, shampoo, shower gel bath hats and soap.
As for the staff, faultless in everything they do, they're just so friendly, they speak perfect English (better than me I think) nothing is too much trouble.
The food as ever in this hotel was excellent, a choice for everyone, even the fussiest eaters wont go hungry here. If the food's not piping hot it's immediately removed from show and replaced, vegetarians and special dietaries also catered for.
The hotels entertainment was top notch, a professional act 5 times a week from Irish dancing to magic shows, and the hotel entertainments team do an audience participation show and quiz the other 2 nights of the week.
We stayed in room 7302 which we requested, the same as last time, from the room you can see the volcanoes further north to the left, you can hear and see the sea straight on and to the right you can see the enormous pool, great views all round.
The nearest beach is right under the hotel down about 120 steps and the white sand stretches for about 22 kilometres. The sand is pure white but in some areas there are black streaks through it. Don't be mislead into thinking it's dirty because it's not its the volcanic black sand under the white sand showing through.
The small town of Morro Jable is about 20mins away on the 1 euro bus (so called because it's 1 euro to go anywhere, be it 1 stop or the whole bus route) and
Morro Jable is very nice, quiet but no souvenir tat just a few nice small shops.
This hotel is right next door to the Fuerteventura Princess and we went in this hotel as well just for a nosey round, it's not as good, not as much room and looks a bit rushed together.
If you want areal quality 5 star experience to get away from it all, the Jandia Princess is the hotel to go to.
A really brilliant hotel, in fact probably the best I've ever been to in the world!!!

There are 5 pools to choose from and plenty of sunbeds.
We stayed as all inclusive and this saved us a lot of spending money, although sometimes there was quite a wait to be served at the bars as it was so busy.
The food was good quality but I wasn’t overly impressed as I am quite fussy.
The location is very remote but you are a short taxi ride or bus journey to Jandia town which has numerous shops, restaurants and bars. There really isn’t much nightlife so I would not stay here if you are looking for partying!
The hotel staff were friendly and most spoke good English.
We did find that most entertainment and the food was German orientated as 90% of the hotel guests are German.
Over all we had a fantastic relaxing holiday & would go back.

The food had an excellent choice, plenty of fresh fruit, although I think if you were taking young children you would have a bit of a tough time with the choice of food.
Our rooms were spotless, cleaned every day, clean towels. The hotel staff was very friendly!
The island is so beautiful, so many different landscapes/ beaches. It is true the resort of Jandia is over run with Germans, but we did not have any problems with them.
The pools were a bit cold, but the temperatures were in the region of 35-40 most days. The whole resort is set out so you can always find somewhere to escape too. We would book this hotel again!!
Well done Thomson

Despite having requested a room with a view we were given a ground floor room which wasn't very pleasing but it was clean and well kept and pretty spacious.
The hotel facilities were good for this standard of hotel. There various bars which each provided something different for us. The piano bar was more sophisticated, while Coco Loco beach bar was very chilled out and later on in the evening the lounge bar was great for a drink with newly made friends.
The entertainment was pretty standard for a Spanish hotel and was mainly in German but again we didn't really need to be entertained.
The food though was an absolute pleasure - plenty of choice at breakfast, lunch and dinner and always hot and delicious. The staff in both the bars and the restaurant were always friendly and hospitable.
All in all and enjoyable stay - shame about the weather!

Had a very relaxing week hotel was spotlessly clean.
Food was very good although as others have said I did find the menus a bit repetitive. The hotel staff especially those that worked in the restaurants were friendly and helpful.
Did not think much of the entertainment in the evening however we did want a relaxing quite break and that’s exactly what we got.
My only complaint are the prices Thomson charge for there excursions we wanted to see the island however Thomson have decided to cancel the reasonably priced coach trip around the island they had, and the only trip they had available was there VIPs tour of Fuertventura which they charged over 80 euros a head, we went on it but I regret it as we were totally ripped off. Admittedly we had a nice lunch which was included in the price but overall it was very disappointing.
Can’t fault the hotel and I would go back.

The hotel is clean, but needs some refurbishment, especially in the gym, which is run down with aged equipment which in some cases is a danger!
The staff are just perfect and very entertaining.
The guests while we were there were good, well behaved and quiet, although I imagine this could differ in peak seasons.
I would find it difficult to fault, my only gripe would be the Britannia flights, in flight service is diabolical!

| said: We stayed at the Hotel Jandia Princess for 2 weeks, and it was one of the best holidays we have had. The hotel is large and clean, the pool is amazing, very tropical. The food was lovely with a different choice each night, including breaskfasts. The location of the hotel is good if you like peaceful holidays as it is not located in a town, but if you wanted to go into Jandia town there is buses and regular taxis that you can catch every day just right of the hotel. The staff were very friendly, all spoke good english, we watched some of the entertainment, it was good some nights and not so good on others, the chinese circus was excellent. I would definetly visist this hotel again, it was lovely and clean, right near the beach ( although there are quite a few steps down there) and the atmosphere was great.

| said: What can I say!! Lovely hotel, lovely food! We visited Jandia Club in May for 2 weeks. First week was very windy and I must say, quite cold. Everyone by the pool had to cover themselves with their towels!! I thought Oh my god, 2 weeks of this. The second week was a lot hotter however.
One word of advice. When you get there, pay that little bit extra at the hotel and go All inclusive - well worth it it saves you pounds!! Thomson very kindly dont tell you that you can do it through the hotel - yet all the Germans are All inclusive. Entertainment great - except Erath Wind and Fire - diabolical!! Food lovely.

| said: My husband and I have stayed at this hotel for the last 5 years, normally two weeks every year, on occasions three. We have never had to make a complaint and would always go back, the hotel is clean, the food is very good with excellent variety to cater for all needs. The service of the staff is also excellent. The outside areas with several pools is hard to beat. We have stayed in many hotels around Europe and the Canaries and have not found one that matches this hotel in it's friendliness, service or value. We will continue to visit the Jandia Princess each year. I only hope that the All inclusive regime that is being introduced here next year doesn't blight the quality of this brilliant hotel in any way.
