I know you dont go on holiday to watch TV but a few english channels would have been nice ( only sky news and cnn news and euro sport in english)Reception staff very helpful and most spoke english, very little entertainment in evenings but it was january, all in all a good base for a relaxing holiday.

| said: We stayed at the Hyde Park Lane Bungalows for a week and would definitely recommend them. Lovely little bungalows fully equipped kitchen, including a microwave, toaster & kettle. Our toaster blew up, after reporting this to reception we had a new one delivered within 10 mins..
It was not very busy in February, and was therefore quiet & peaceful. The staff were friendly and helpful. A tip regarding the cleaners...ours threw away items that we had not finished with!! One item in particular was important, and we had to go through a bin to retrieve it!!!
We didn't eat on the site, so can't comment on the food.
The site supermarket was well stocked, and we thought the prices were good.

| said: I spent a week in the bungalows in September.
The complex is ideally located in the quiet end of the resort, and is only a 10 minute walk to the beach. It is however really handy if you are here with a car, as it is really easy to find from the expressway, however is far enough away to have no noise intrusion.
The onsite supermarket is over priced, but handy if you are stuck.
The pool was ok - saltwater and a little chilly.
When I was there the kids playpark and second pool were both ripped up while being renovated, so I would assume for 07 both of these will be back running again, however in fairness when I was there the entertainment was non existent, ditto with anything for kids to do. However was kind of expecting that.
Rooms are standard fair - clean and tidy - good maids service, complex in general is very clean and tidy.
Staff are excellent, both reception staff and breakfast staff, be polite and they are really really nice. Though I did see some typical grumpy tourist ranting about something and the receptionist soon rose to the challenge ;)
Anyhow considering the complex is pretty cheap, it cant really be faulted considering its location and facilities. However as with anything you get what you pay for. But if you want a base for a holiday that is near the resort centre then this will do the trick

| said: We would highly recommend this holiday if you're feeling burnt out and need to charge your batteries. We hope to return with our parents sometime in the next 12 months!
First the positive comments:
We found the accommodation to be very pretty, extremely quiet, beautifully clean and the staff polite and helpful. We used both the swimming pools and the pool bar for lunches but did not venture to the restaurant as we preferred to go for a walk and find somewhere different to eat in the evenings. However we did spend a night in the bar after eating out and our 3 year old daughter had a ball. We bought provisions from the shop which stocks most things and as usual it was overpriced but you come to expect that..... The beach is about five to ten minutes walk away and we did spend quite a few days there, we always hired 2 sunbeds and an umbrella which cost 8 euros per day.
Now the negative:
We did find the bungalow to be damp, we stayed in Number 83 and we were supplied with a fan heater but it didn't seem to help the situation much. Also there are no umbrellas around the pool but apparently you can hire them... Any finally the bar b q that's outside your bungalow - this is a great idea but it would be better if the shop could stock some disposable bar b qs rather than the massive bags of charcoal and firelights that you don't get to use in a week.
All in all a fab holiday - wish we were still there!

Location was nice and peaceful
Staff some helpful others too busy talking or reading the paper
Entertainment didn't exist apart from a bloke playing an organ at night
Pools looked good and rooms had plenty of space for 2 not very private but nice and peaceful
I would rate Thompson 5 out of 5 for helpfulness without being pushy.

| said: We stayed at these bungalows during the last week of February.
The weather was warm but occasionally windy and rainy. There was damp in the bungalows but I put this down to the time of year and the weather conditions. They could get quite cool in the evenings but there are plenty of blankets to snuggle up with and you can hire a fan heater from reception (along with hairdryers, Video & DVD players including films, highchairs, buggies etc). There was maid service every day except Friday and towels were changed regularly. The bungalows were spotless the patio areas not very private but still enjoyable to sit out in the evening.
The pool looked excellent (although we did not try it) and the play area was great although designed for more slightly older children than our 2 year old as it was quite tall.
5 mins away from the beach and another 5/10 mins into the main bustle of Puerta del Carmen. All in all a lovely relaxing place but close enough to town if required.

| said: Hotel very clean, staff friendly, pool very uncrowded and sunbeds readily available.
Rooms very clean and spacious, we travelled last minute very cheaply and were very pleased with what we got.
We didn't use the restaurant in the hotel as the main town is close by, it is close enough to walk to, but far enough away to be nice and quiet.
I would recommend this hotel for a relaxing enjoyable base for your holiday.

I was recovering from an injury and had no difficulty in getting around the site in spite of being unable to walk without a cane.
A wonderful place for a quiet holiday, but there's a good pool for kids to enjoy as well.

| said: I am reporting this on behalf of my parents because my father is wheelchair bound. I did go to the resort at the same time but stayed in another hotel. I am submitting this for advice to disabled visitors.
The bungalow they stayed in was requested to be wheelchair accessible. Very pleased to report that it WAS very near the reception and also very private with no passing foot traffic. There were NO steps into this bungalow - number 98. Note that bungalows in some parts of the site do have steps to get into them. The further from the reception the bigger the steps.
There were flat walkways around the site and getting around the site in a wheelchair was no problem. Also access to the Bar and restaurant was fine.
The only problem with the rooms in the bungalow was that their toilet was too low and did not have any support rails. Therefore my dad could use it. Also there was just an ordinary bath with over bath shower ie no disabled facilities were washing. Yet this hotel had been recommend by Thompson as Disabled Friendly.
A big problem area was that entry and exit had to be via the reception area, whereas there was another access/exit nearer the town which would have provided a shortcut but not accessible via wheelchair. Second there was no proper ramp from the road to the reception. Just a very steep, short ramp for wheeled cases. Also immediately infront of the reception the pavement had a bad camber making getting on and off the pavement in a wheelchair difficult.
However, we got around the problems and the taxi drivers were very helpfull,
The poolside bar was staffed by a variety of different ladies - just one at a time doing cooking and serving food and drinks. These girls were all excellent and very hard workers and very friendly. But we were there fairly early in June and they were not that busy
The entertainment however was VRRY POOR. A few nights a week they had solo singers/guitarists/organists playing to karaoke backing tracks. This was the worse aspect of the accommodation and we felt they let themselves down.

| said: Struggle to fault these bungalows.
They were spacious and kept very clean and a well equipped kitchen meant you could properly Self Cater. A nice feature is the in-built bar-b-q on your terrace. For a few Euro's you can buy a bag of coal, matches and fire lighters all obtainable from on-sight shop and get a good selection of meats from the Spa in Puerto de Carmen and enjoy a nice evening barby.
Grounds are nice and clean, lovely flowers everywhere.
Bar, reception and restaurant all very clean with very friendly staff and reasonably priced drinks (especially cocktails) and food. We only sampled the buffets which were average quality but they are cheap, so guess you get what you pay for.
Pool was a bit cold at times and white edge very slippery. Could have done with some anti-slip mats covering the edge which I'm sure would be easy enough. Good sandpit with park next to pool to also keep the kids occupied. Plenty of sunbeds but no parasols which you need to hire or you can buy them which is cheaper.
The evening entertainment is not up to much scratch but it doesn't matter as you have the busiest resort on the island on your doorstep.
Would recommend these apartments if you are looking for good, quiet clean accomodation which is set back from the hustle and bustle of a busy resort.

| said: First time we have stayed in these apartments although we had been through them before. Was very impressed with them.
We requested a pool view and that is what we got, a bungalow at the side of the pool.
There are loads of sunbeds so you don't have to be out at the crack of dawn to put a towel on them as there are enough to go round.
The staff are very nice and the receptionists are very good English spoken.
Set in the Los Pocillos area where we love because you are away from the hustle bustle but if you wish that it is only a 20 minute walk or up tp 3 euros in taxi.
The only thing we experienced was our towels did not get changed we arrived on the Thursday and I had to ask on the Tuesday night if I could have clean ones. We hung our towels out on the airer at night once we used them and that might have been the problem, maybe we should have left them in the toilet??
Oherwise at top class place, and our rep Luke was just brill, a new recruit to the complex but very knowledgeable.

Well kept gardens were tended to each day and the staff were very helpful.
There was a supermarket on site that catered to everybodies tastes. Didn`t stay around for any of the entertainment as it was only a short walk onto the beach front where you found bars and restaurants.

| said: Booked late deal with Thompson, did not break the budget, so was not expecting much.
When we arrived as rather worried at how close Hyde Park Lane was to airport but this did not interfere with holiday in the slightest.
Holiday was fantastic.
Reception was superb, excellent English. Kids loved Matt the Thompson Rep, he was very helpful.
Puerto del Carmen 2 min down road we got taxi because of children, taxi fares up to 3 euros at most and everyone was so friendly not ripping you off.
Went to Puerto Del Carmen most nights, ate at restaurant 3 times and food was good standard. Came back to a quiet bar where we enjoyed our last drink.
Bungalows very clean and private. A flower put in room every day from cleaners which was sweet.
Children aged 4 and 7 loved play area which was close to pool so adults could supervise at all times. Kids loved pool, all inflatables were welcome and beach was clean.
We are planning to go back in November and can’t wait.

The staff are really friendly.
The bungalows are very clean and well equipped and the gardens and pool area spotless.
It is just right location wise as we like to be out of the hustle and bustle but are near enough to walk into at night for dinner.
The lack of entertainment is no prob to us as we like the quieter places anyway. We love it so much we are going back again this November.

| said: The best accommodation I have stayed in to date. Very clean, very private (like having your own villa)If you have a corner bungalow (which we had) you have your own little exit - a short cut to the main centre of Puerto del Carmen. Will save you a walk through reception. However with the picturesque gardens-There will be no complaints !!!
In an excellent position, bars, restaurants and shops and of course the beach, just a short walk away.
would definately book again

The pool was a good size, and I would concirder it to everyone who looks at it and thinks that it looks nice.
Every evening we went to a club or a disco and stayed there until we were all getting tired.
The food was brilliant it was tasty and filling it was a great holiday.

| said: We dont usually go on holiday self catering but as it was a late booking we had to. However, this wasnt a problem atall as the apartments were only a short walk from lots of fantastic bars and restaurantes. The apartment was very clean and the maids were very friendly. We didnt mind that there was no night time entertainment because again it was only a short walk from some great bars. We especcially enjoyed the Harley Rock Bar. The apartment staff were always willing to help you and were always friendly. We only ate in the restaurante once at the apartments but what we did eat was to a very high standard. The location of the apartments was very nice. Although it was a bit dark and lonely walking home late at night down the roads to the apartments, the quiet atmosphere was very relaxing and we loved it. We would definately recommend these apartments to anyone and we hope to stay there again.

| said: Hyde Park Lane Bungalows is very well maintained. Bungalows are cleaned thoroughly 5 days a week with towel changes every time. There is an on-site restaurant which is reasonably priced and has a choice of buffet or a la carte menu. The food is very nice. They also provide a take-away menu which was handy and was good 'fast food'. The location is quiet and set back from the beach by a couple of roads. Yet it is within easy reach of the lively Puerto del carmen. It felt very safe and the walk ways gardens and pool are all clean and well maintained. The staff are very helpful and all speak good English. We did not stay in for the small amount of entertainment that was provided and to be honest we were glad that there wasn't much on-site as we liked the peaceful surroundings to come back to in the evenings. We will definitely be going back to Hyde Park Lane Bungalows soon.

The hotel is only a 10 mins walk from the beach so good for young ones as not to far. We wouldn't go back to these bungalows but thats only because we found them to small and no entertainment for us or kids .
