We had a fabulous time at the Casa Pedras Apartments. The owners, Antonio and Aldina (husband and wife) were fantastic. If you've read any other review websites you may have found out that they speak NO english - but Aldina (the wife) speaks French. This didnt stop us befriending them, and they always had a smile for us, and wished us a good morning/evening etc.

The apartments are Adults Only, and we chose it specifically for this reason. We have nothing against families with kids, but we wanted peace and quiet to unwind on our holiday, and thats exactly what we got. Amen!

We stayed in Apartment Nr 2, ground floor facing the pool. Ideal for a couple. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need for a self-catering holiday and more. I first thought it was their home, not our apartment! We had a large fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle, microwave, electric oven with gas hob, and even a sandwich toaster! Bedroom was at the back and was cool at night. Lounge was comfortable and included Sky TV (limited number of channels, but who goes on holiday to watch TV!).

The pool was of a good size, more than sufficient for the 9 apartments that share it. Be warned, its not heated and slopes quite steeply, so doesnt warm up much! Once in, its wonderful. There is a sunbed AND an umbrella for every person staying at the apartments, so no need for towels on sunbeds at 6am.

Towels were changed halfway through our one week stay, along with the bedding, but cleaner came in every day to sweep, tidy up and make the beds. Very polite too.

The apartments are a 2 minute walk to the beach (if you use the steps winding down through the pretty white houses), or a 5 minute walk via the road (its not a busy main road).

We had a lovely holiday and are looking forward to going back there soon. A big hello to John and Pam from Hull (if you read this). Everyone in Olhos D'Agua and the other British holidaymakers in the apartments were really friendly. A great place for a relaxing break.

Public bus to Albufeira cost Eur 1,70 per adult, and returned by Taxi from Albufeira for 6 euros (about £4), so probably cheaper to get taxi if there's more than 2 of you!
