| said: We have just returned from a very pleasant weeks stay at the Lago Taurito. It is a very attractive hotel internally, good spaces within the hotel.
It was clean and our room was cleaned at least 6 days out of 7 and towels changed 3 times during the week.
The food was good. Lots of choice and drinks are in glasses which is nice. The pool area is also nice and the raised section near to the jacuzzi is less cramped than the main pool area. The pool bar staff are very efficient and quick.
The location is fine if you just want to lie by the pool and not venture out as there is not much else to do. A week is plenty. There are no bars and only a couple of small shops.
Entertainment is what lets this hotel down. The entertainment area is very cramped and must get extremly busy during August. It was the usual stuff that gets a bit monotonous.
We enjoyed our week here. It was very relaxing. It's certainly a good 3 star hotel.

| said: This hotel is in the middle of nowhere, only go there if you hire a car. Short walk to small beach couple of shops but nothing else, the only entertainment is in the hotel. Food was very good, plenty of it.
Didnt think much of Gran Canaria apart from the sand dunes. Read reports before saying this hotel should be 4 star (no way). Still had good holiday but would not visit there again.

| said: This hotel was booked as a 4* but on the door was a 3* , however the only thing stopped it being a 4 was it didnt have room service, It had a water fall in the reception area and was really nice all round , should have been a 4 star, lifts on the outside and that gave a great view if you went up to the top floor, trees and bushes as you walked to your room, the rooms were big and we had our own room , the kids had a sofa bed/pully out bed, kitchen and med size bathroom, all very clean and tidy.
food was good, better than expected, always fresh, and even the toasties at the pool were made fresh and very quick by a cook in the back area, ice cream came in cones and changed flavour as soon as the tub ran out (vanilla sberry, banana, toffee, lemon) service was quick at the pool bar too, sometimes they remembered your drink, kids got same service too. slush puppies too. the location is nice, but i like to explore and the hotel is in a large bay area , so you will need a car / use taxis and buses to get about, although a week here was ok, more than that would need a bit of transport of some kind. As this was a budget for us we didnt bother much, if you like walks around that may be difficult as it only takes about an hour to see the entire area, howver it is really pretty though, large flume complex opposite hotel, but is salt water, A first for us, wasnt too keen. Entertainment : good to ok, problem was space, too small for hotel , and kids was same ole, same ole.Snake show, parrot show , dancers all good . but too short and you had to rush dinner to get a seat .This is a family resort, not much to do aftyer dark, unless you like the bar, no discos etc.

Yes the hotel isnt english but hey if your polite to everyone they respond and the staff were helpful and chatty as well.
The rooms were spotless maids always said Good Morning and our room was cleaned all 7 days we were there.
Food was well edible nice choice and yes always had chips on but when i go to restaurants they are always on offer but its my choice if i fill my plate with them.
Entertainment was a little patchy lots of fun during the day watched the usual Bird Show and Acrobats loads of sunbeds and not much noise from the new hotel being built opposite.
Overall yes its a quiet resort but for a lovely relaxing holiday I recomend the Lago Taurito and will return.

| said: After reading the reports on the site, I was quite worried about what I was going to find in the lago taurito.
But when I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. We arrived around 1pm and were given our room right away. We had an apartment that overlooked the pool area. The apartment itself was lovely. The only gripe I would have is that the beds were not too comfortable - but then again nothing can beat your own bed.
There was always plenty of room around the pool and you did't have to fight for sun loungers.
The food was fine - although it did get a bit repetitive at times. If you are staying all inclusive, I would recommend eating out of the hotel once or twice just to break up the same food each evening.
We went to the market in Puerto mogan on the Friday - this is one of the best markets vie been to, people were not too pushy - it only cost around 5 euro in a taxi
We also headed up to Puerto Rico one night to do a bit of shopping which was great. Around 13 euro in a taxi - there is a McDonalds there for the kids as well.
The entertainment in the hotel was a bit pants and nothing went on around the complex after 11pm - which could be a bit boring at times - but if you want a relaxing holiday its grand.
All in all I had a great time and would definitely go back.

| said: The lago taurito was excellent, lovely area, clean and friendly and met all expectations. After reading other reviews prior to the holiday i was a little worried but when people state that "foods fine if you want chips every day" then this is crazy as there was always lots of variety on offer and we all ate very well every meal time, maybe people should relax a little and try different things instead of complaining also when catering for all those people on masse you cant expect food to be scorching hot, dont forget you are abroad, and yes there are foreigners there too so dont expect it all to be catered towards english we are only one of many countries!!!!My children age 5 and 11 loved the holiday, all of it, pool was great , food great, entertainment was good my 5 yr old loved the disco etc.entertainment was varied catering for both children and adults a few good groups on as well as shows for the kids.Staff very friendly, yes they were busy but always had a smile and were glad to help.would definately love to return there.

| said: I want to say something positive so --the weather was nice! and buses regular and cheap!
The food bland, some not all staff rude. Chaining up of sunbeds was last straw. Room shabby and area was too quiet --I like quiet but this was boringly quiet. Entertainment repetitive--same group 3 times in one week and the animation team --well I can't even comment
Obviously this is only my opinion others may feel different But it was worst holiday I have had for several years and would definately not be returning or recommending it to others

Food nice and plentiful. The resort has only hotels and pool areas therefore nothing to do but laze about although children loved the pools and crazy golf.

| said: Just come back from this hotel. It was good value for money - the dining room was 'no frills' but there was always something to choose no matter what your tastes, although sometimes it was difficult to choose things that went together well. The pastries at breakfast were a highlight!
Mainly Germans in the hotel and the evening entertainment reflected this. Could also have done with a few more staff on the bar in the evening.
We got free entry to the 'water park' just in front of the hotel and you could go over there and use the facilities and pop back to the hotel for lunch if you wanted.
Overall a nice place to stay. Would definitely go back if the price was right.

| said: It was very clean and staff very nice and helpful. The entertainment team were great and our 2 boys had a fantastic time.
It isn't a Brit hotel, mainly Dutch or German but we really didn't mind that.
The pool in the hotel is quite small and I imagine in the main season it wouldn’t be big enough, but you had free entrance (if all inclusive) to the very large lagoon area in front of the hotel.
This was spotlessly clean and great for kids with the water chutes. Water is salt water and was very cold.
The Apartments were basic but had everything you needed. It was good being a family to have a separate bedroom.
The food was good. Always something nice to eat. There was a chef grilling fresh fish and meat every night.
We booked through Alpha rooms and had a good deal with them.
Would definitely go again.
