| said: We were really impressed with the hotel. It was 92% capacity even in November but everywhere was relaxed and had no queues at lunch or dinner and always found a table we liked. Heated pool was fantastic and children loved the flumes. Staff always curtious and friendly. We had great games of pool with the children. Swimming in the sea was out of this world.
All inclusive could not be beaten with four hungry children. Parents had the most relazing holiday possible.
We will definately return!!

| said: After much worrying with reading other comments we had best holiday ever. The hotel is excellent in every way.
There was plenty of food to choose from and yes some unusual dishes but they have to cover many different countries so understandable. You could eat outside or inside with a non smoking area.
The staff could not do enough for you and were very pleasant at all times.
The rooms were very spacious and comfortable, yes a few ants but not like a horror film, and I hate all creepy crawlies. Some of the bathrooms are being upgraded now but will be awhile until they are completed with the amount of rooms they have.
The beach was excellent and getting over my fear of fish and going in the sea with them was out of this world. the pools and slides were excellent too, we situated ourselves so we were close to the bar, restuarant and our room without walking for miles.
The singers were entertaining in all the wrong ways but the nightly entertainment at the ampitheatre was great 8/10 from 9:30-11pm and there was a bar just beside it.
We went to nama bay a few times and loved it, just stay determined if you don't want to buy and keep walking and they get the hint.
I would recommend anyone to this hotel apart from wheelchair users as there is no lifts and quite a few stairs.
can't wait to go back

kids enjoyed most of the entertainment but it cost a small fortune for the snooker/pool as there wasn`t much for them to do.
there was no breeze for the first 10 days so it was very hot.
staff were brill(we did a lot of tipping).
there is nowhere to go to get out of the sun. they also have alluminium tables and chairs around pool 1 in the blazing sun which is just plain crazy.
all in all i don`t think much of this hotel, it is a nice place but they don`t seem to have things in the right place and for this reason i would never go back to this hotel again

| said: Arrived at Sharm at the same time as three planes no organisation in the passport control area no orderly queue just going around the large arrival area no instructions eventually after 1hr went through to get our cases. had booked a mini bus fron select egypt excellent 20 euros with 2 guides very helpful. Took us directly to the hotel checked us in and sorted problems with the rooms children in opposite direction. Airport close but not a problem journey time 15min.
Rooms excellent three rooms all with twin beds plus a sofa bed two balconys.cleaned everyday with fresh towels some nights towels arrived after we had showered.
hotel ground vast but you soon get to know your way around.very helpfull staff if you get lost guards walking around ground through out the day.
I suggest you wait till after 8pm to go down for your evening meal and sit outside it will be alot quieter, even though the double doors do course a few problems no one holds them open or says thank you.the inside tables are like a cafe noisey and smokey, foreign and english children running around when they have finished. Plenty of food always somthing to try, but you will always get the usual holiday maker moaning.
Negative side to hotel bar staff do not wash the glasses properly so we used to wssh the in the hot water from the tea urn or use the plastic through away cups.as it got hotter so did there facial expressions when the children went up for a drink .I would not let the children or even Teenagers go to the bars with out you they will be ignored. or you asked for fresh lemonade not flat drinks. They seem to only like the people who tip continually, but you still get the same drink.
Beds around pool are saved by the staff for guests who are paying them and then they dont appear till after lunch. In the end we joined the majority of people and set are alarms for 6am to beat the pool staff especially around pool 2 to get beds, by 7am there were no beds. The staff were annoyed this ws happening because the guests who stayed in bed arrived at 10 and 11am walked over to him expecting to be shown to there beds.this was quite amusing to see ther faces as they then had no beds and no umberella. On numerous occasions towels were removed by staff and bed appeared from no were for certain people.the good tipper but we have all paid to go on holiday and should be treated fairly.
The beach was excellent with plenty of sunbeds through out the day with enough umberellas which you need the temperature reached 54c most days.
The entertainment tried during the day 2nd week was alot better as more people joined in but it was very hot for some of the activites not in the shade.
Evening entertainment was poor started at 21.40pm finished at 10.30pm with 1 club dance.you could use the disco which ws empty, loud and hot. you also had to pay for your drinks.2 singers by pool 1 were terrible same songs each night, should have carried the dancing on in the ampitheatre till midnight. Not enough for teenages at night but there was never any trouble or noise they all just sat and talked or played snooker.
I would return to this hotel after all that but probably with out teenages, for a relaxing break on the beach.

Rooms clean but bathroom seen better days and needed replacing.
Pool not clean. 3 of our party contracted ear and eye infections. Many other guests with same complaints. Pool guy told us that there had been a change of staff and there had problems with dosing. This was sorted by the time we left.
Pool bar hygiene/cleanliness levels non existent. Dishwashers in place but hardly used. Plastic glasses just waved under running tap and then re-used. All of our party ended up with diarrhoea and two of us are still ill 4 days after returning. I spoke to at least 22 other people round the pool who were also suffering with the same complaint.Staff were spoken to by hotel management, but I still saw glasses being washed in the same manner on the last day of my holiday.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and would never return.

| said: The hotel was A/I and I could not fault it. My favorite spot was on the beach and eating in the beach reasturant.
The food was ok, plenty to eat and drink.
The hotel is immaculate there appears to be more staff than guests and nothing is too much trouble.
We had a junior suite which had a seperate living room and bedroom and two balconys pletny of rooms and a huge bathroom the room was cleaned every day that we were there.
The location was fine. A few shops across the road including a bank chemist and supermarket Namma Bay is only 10 mins drive.
The hotel staff are really nice and friendly tipping is a way of life and will get you a better service. I did not watch the entertainment but my son did and he enjoyed it.
I would definitely come back. Thinkling of doing so in August.
My son who is 13 loved it and made many friends I was perfectly safe to leave him to play on his own while Irelaxed on the beach or snorkled.
Great place!

| said: Stayed in hotels over the May day Bank Holiday.
Hotel generally kept clean although now starting to look tired in places especially the bathrooms.
Food was not good, all the food seemed to be covered in some sauces ( ie beef in sauce, turkey in sauce and very salty) in the main restaurant. Sparrows where constantly flying around and eating off the tables, I only once saw one deficate once on the food and the item was removed.
The area out side the main restaurant also serving food for the kids was OK and we generally ate here (pizza was very good).
We used the Fatima restaurant (near the beach) which was good and would recommend that you try it. There was always something you could find to eat but I would not have liked to have been here for 14 days.
Bar areas need attention. Glass cleaning was a quick wash under running water and then put to one side ready to serve again. Beer good but the spirits do not taste quite right. We paid for a Baileys in the Victoria bar and was charge £5 (UK) for a thimble full glass which had an ice cube that took up most of the space
Tipping is a way of life the do get paid £100 (UK) month but to put this in perspective petrol is only 13p/litre. I would suggest taking $1 bills as they prefer paper money as it is easier to exchange for them.
Pool area was kept clean and no difficulty in getting a sunbed, again worth tipping the pool attendant who would keep your place everyday you where there. Towels are provided free.
I saw plenty of glass bottles and glasses around the pool which was a bit of a worry.
Staff generally friendly.
I would not use this hotel again. If you do go do not expect a 4 star hotel (say 3 at best), take in some duty frees and prepare to pay for food outside the hotel and you won't go too far wrong.

| said: On our 2nd visit to this hotel, as one of the family had a medical restriction mobility the hotel reception staff were very helpful and they were able to provide us with a room allocated near to all the amenities (room 119).
After arriving 4.5 hours late our check in at the hotel was very quick and we was shown to our room by the hotel porter straight away.
Once in the room within 10 minutes we had our luggage brought to our room and the beds were all made up. As it was our 2nd visit there was a basket of fruit waiting for us.
The room itself which was a Junior Suite was very clean. The safes are free of charge at this hotel, the fridge is stocked with Water, 7up and Coke on your arrival.
The food at the hotel has lots of variety for everybody's need and also for vegetarians as our daughter is a vegetarian.
The hotel staff are very friendly and very helpful as a tip goes a long way and is well appreciated. Thank you to Mahmoud (pool bar), Magad (BBQ Bar Area),Sayed (main restaurant), and Mahmood (Terrace Bar). When we went for a drink at these particularly areas we got service straight away and drinks brought directly to our table. We recommend the beer as it is Egyptian stella. The sunshine non alcoholic drink is ideal for children as our daughter had nothing else but this drink.
The entertainment has improved from last year as there is a British Entertainment Team (Thomas Cook) which started this year. Jodie, Simon and Natia did a good job entertaining the children. There was a different show each evening including, Fire Show, Oriental Show and a Variety show. All in all there were very good shows. All the animation team worked very hard day and night.
If you would like to go on a couple of trips whilst out there we would recommend Star Gazing and the Almira2 Yacht trip on the red sea, to see the dolphins and to have a swim and do some snorkelling.
Had a fantastic 2 weeks at this hotel and would recommend it for families, we would return to this hotel.

Hotel and grounds were absolutely stunning. Choice, quality and abundance of food and drinks was amazing, with snack stops and drinks available all the time. Whatever your eating or drinking tastes there will always be something for you.
The staff were amazing - they made us feel really welcome and looked after us 24/7. our room cleaner even made a swan from the towel !! The staff at the health club were particularly friendly and helpful.
The staff are not paid particularly well in Egypt so are truly grateful for any tips you give them. We gave tips as a thank you for the great job they were doing and they thanked us for doing it by giving even better service !!
Fairly good entertainment during day and evening, with lots of pool games and shows etc, slides were great round the pool too! There was a show on every night, which was always different. There is a Disco upstairs every night too.
All in all a fantastic place to go and would reccomend to anybody.

| said: So Pleased to see that someone else has posted a report on this hotel. We find this site so helpful.
A truely wonderful holiday. The weather was almost too hot being on the coast of the Sinai Desert. 37o daily. The hotel was lovely, spacious and excellently maintained. The staff are very helpful - they like english people and you arent surprised when you see the way they are treated by other nationalities. A little curtesy goes a long way with the Egyptians. The tipping is excessive outside the resort but inside a very well deserved end of holiday tip is welcomed. The exchange rate is £1.00 to £10.00 eyptian pounds and these guys earn £200 eyptian a month £20.00!! So a £1.00 tip is generous, and because of this you find yourself tipping them well cause they deserve it. Nothing is too much trouble.
Our room was fabulous overlooking the oriental restaurant, sea and pool 4. The room 484 was a junior suite with a huge double bed, sofa bed,tv,fridge, safe hairdryer, cane chair, two balconys, two aircon units. We were in heaven. See photos.
The hotel facilities are many and because of that you never felt overwhelmed with visitors. Although this resort caters for members of the Sunrise Island Garden too. The beach bar is drinks burgers, sausages, Oriental Restaurant for bbq and a la carte evening meal (book early!). Pool 4 has a bar and plenty of sunloungers and towel stop (all free), there is two quiet pools and the main waterslide pool one by the restaurant, pool bar. Pool two has a baby slide and play park too. Great facilities for families including a special childrens menu with plain food. (Although a lot of adults used it too!).
The Italian restaurant is al a carte, we loved our meal there, book early again. There is the Victoria Bar - full of us brits! lol, and the terrace bar near reception.
Special mention to Selina, Sarah and Ollie, the Thomas Cook reps FANTASTIC! so so helpful and nothing is too much trouble. They are stars of the hotel. The cabaret is great but the odd thug british bloke isnt!!! there is always one but at least it was one. No brits abroad brigade here at all.
We had a perfect holiday and cant wait to go again. We did the Sunseekers trip on a boat to snorkle, amazine just take your own snorkle as the ones on the boat were rubbish. The coral reef and fish do make the holiday and we saw dolphins too and a nemo!!! WOW!
We did a flight trip to Cairo which was fabulous although a long, long day and not enough time to really look around everything. But we saw the pyramids!
Hope this helps and we see a lot more reviews on the hotel on here.

Food was good, a good variety. Hygiene at main pool bar very poor, did not wash plastic glasses in dishwasher just swilled under running water, thus half of hotel came down with sickness and diarrhea and i am not joking! All my 4 children had it, 2 very bad the hotel tried to tell us it was the heat.
The staff were very friendly, some a bit to much!
Beach was a bit of a trek in heat, excellent for adults and older kids, no good for toddlers as no excess to water other than pontoon, wonderful for snorkeling fish amazing.
Personally wouldn't go again. Been to better.

| said: Just returned from a fantastic holiday in the Sunrise Island View in Sharks Bay, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
Firstly Sunrise chain has two hotels here, The Sunrise Island View and the Sunrise Gardens. The better of the two is the Sunrise Island View as it has more facilities + the added advantage of it's own beach.
I will break the review up in sections.
Getting there:-
We booked the holiday through Teletext holidays who in hindsight gave us an honest description of this hotel. They also advised on transfer to hotel etc... We flew from Luton Airport with Thomsons, although the holiday was actually with Imperial Holidays.
When we arrived at Sharm Airport, we did not bother getting a Visa as we did not plan to travel outside Sinai. We went straight through. We were advised to book a taxi from within the airport. It cost us £10 to get to the hotel which is only about 10 minutes away. It was no hassle and we were in the hotel in no time. It is advised to book the hotel inside the terminal as if you go outside the terminal, for security reasons they will not let you back in + once our outside the taxis can charge what they like as they know your stuck to get to your hotel.
The room:-
All rooms are two storey, i.e. one room on ground floor and one on upper floor. They are very spacious. We had a twin bedroom. At first we felt a bit disappointed, but we soon realised where we were positioned in the hotel that it was an advantage as we were close to all the main areas of the hotel, i.e. pool, restaurant, entertainment etc.. We had an upper floor room, which meant climbing some steps every day to get to the room. No problem really!. The room had two single beds for my daughters and we were hoping for a double bed, but what you actually get is a sofa that turns into a double bed (OK, but not as comfortable as a proper bed). We had a TV with plenty of channels (movie channel was very handy and had some decent films on while we were there). The minibar is free and you get inundated with water top ups daily. There are only soft drinks though in the minibar. The balcony is a good size but we had a view of the gardens.
The bathroom was Ok, a little worn and there was always a nasty smell in there.
There were two air conditioned units in the room which were a godsend as it got very hot.
There is also a decent size free safe that you put your own code in.
Rooms are cleaned daily although I would say at times the cleaner probably rushed it, even after receiving a tip. Mind you working in that heat can’t be fun.
Food:-
We found plenty to eat, although most people we know got ill one way or other. I don't think it would be fair to blame this all on food as there can be several reasons. We found it to be a good variety and we never went hungry. We went All Inclusive and there is more food and drink than you can eat. We especially liked the pasta station that cooked to order and made it nice and spicy, just the way we like it! Also the cakes and pastries are delicious! In the mornings you can have whatever type of egg you like. I felt the standard the hotel tries to maintain in the restaurants was very good. There are two other restaurants you can book as part of your AI package, they are The Oriental and Italian. Although it was different to do this, the food was not too different from the main restaurant and we actually preferred it more. The pizza we had in the Italian was not too great.
Daily they have a theme and there is always a barbecue. In addition at 11pm, they have another barbecue for night time snacks around the main pool.
From 3pm to 5pm they also serve Nestle Ice creams. All drinks were decent drinks as well, i.e. soft drinks were Pepsi, 7UP or Tango. The beer was Egyptian Stella and not bad. You can also have a variety of alcoholic and non alcoholic cocktails, but be warned, they are very generous with the alcohol measures.
If you are vegetarian, you would easily find enough to eat here.
Entertainment:-
We were impressed with the entertainment. They have an Amphitheatre which put on a show each night at 10pm. Apart from the odd below average show, most of the shows were entertaining and enjoyable. The hotels Katanga animation team and Thomas Cook team were brilliant! They put in 100% and should be commended. There is also an Oriental show with a man that spins for ages. He was amazing!
During the day the Katanga team do pool aerobics, pool games and keep everyone entertained. If this isn't your thing, no problems. There are 4 pools that cater for all, so if you want piece and quiet , two pools have no music.
We stayed mostly by pool 2 as pool 1 was overrun by some guests that did not consider others. Pool 1 and 2 both have two large slides which were excellent fun.
There is also a Hollywood cafe that shows latest DVD's on a big screen. We were disappointed as we arranged to see the latest Star Wars. When we finally got it playing (an hour after it was supposed to start), there were people just talking above the film, so you couldn't enjoy it in silence. After half hour, we gave up and so did many others. We complained to the management about this. There is also a handy table football in the cafe.
Each night at the main pool a lone guitarist plays his tune. Although he plays the same stuff each night, it is nice to have it in the background and adds a nice touch to your holiday. Also in the Oriental they have a keyboard player and female singer serenade you while you have that special dinner. And to cap it all, the location of the Oriental restaurant allows you to see the Sunset over Tiran Island… fantastic!
The Beach:-
Apart from having all the usual beach facilities, food drink etc... there are two plastic jetties that are not too long and very safe. As you walk along, the water is so clear that you can see all the fishes. Anyway when I jumped into the sea and looked down, my holiday was made. It was absolutely breathtaking. We saw so many fish it is unbelievable. We also saw a Moray eel hiding in the coral and a lion fish. I recommend this is something you must do. It pays for your holiday. Also you must invest in an underwater camera. They are only £7 in the supermarket opposite the hotel.
It is quite safe to swim in the sea as it is cordoned off, although one time some divers were practicing rescues. A woman saw this and thought the man was really drowning so yelled for help. Suddenly a load of the hotel lifeguards and others came running up the jetty. We couldn’t stop laughing!!
General:-
We made some brilliant friends while we were out there but generally the Brits stick together as well as the other nationalities. The hotel caters for all nationalities and hats off to Mr Joe who speaks most of them and does all the compering.
The hotel is rated 5 star. Probably not a 5 star but not far off. It is excellently run by decent hard working Egyptians. Nothing seemed to be a problem and going All inclusive is definitely the way to go.
The only problem I would say is the hotel management are a bit reluctant to enforce a bit of discipline for unruly guests.
When we had the people cause havoc around the pool nothing was said, nor in the Hollywood Café watching the film or in the Amphitheatre when loads of immature kids kept whistling before and throughout a performance and making their silly castles out of seat cushions!
The pools are attended by pool boys who are more than helpful and double up as lifeguards.
The waiters are extremely hard working and run around getting your drinks and generally keeping you happy.
One day we went to Naama Bay. It cost us £7 return using the hotel shuttle bus. It was no problems and very safe this way. However Naama Bay was not too great and the two hours we spent there was long enough. Most of the gifts you can buy there are made in China. It is easier just to avoid the hassle and buy your gifts from the supermarkets opposite the hotel. You get no hassle here and pay a fixed price.
To summarise we had an excellent holiday however as we are adventurous would go elsewhere as the world is a big place. However we would go to a Sunrise hotel again as they do appear to have a high standard.
P.S. I have put a load of photos in the Egypt photo section, Sharm El Sheik.
