This was our second visit to the Mythos, we met others who were on their 4th or 5th visit. I understand that the apartments are in joint ownership, Alex and his wife Nota, run the place during August and September. I have not met the other joint owners, therefore cannot comment on how the place is run when they are there.

Alex and Nota are both very pleasant and extremely helpful, they work hard to ensure that you enjoy your time with them.

As with most accommodation in Greece the apartments are basic. Our room had two single beds, two bedside lockers, wardrobe and dressing table. The kitchen area had a fridge, two electric rings, an electric kettle and a table. There were a couple of overhead cupboards with plates, cups, glasses, cutlery etc. There were plenty of lights. The toilet/shower was slightly on the small side.

There are three blocks, we stopped in the middle block. Last year we stopped in the block furthest away from the bar, this is most probably the newest block as these rooms have a an air conditioning option and also a larger toilet area. Both blocks that we have stopped in get the late afternoon sun on the balcony, the first block, next to the bar, get the morning sun on the balcony. The balcony we had last year was more private as there is a large dividing wall between apartments. Our balcony this year had a large frosted screen on one side but there was only a low wall on the other side.

To have your room cleaned you hand your room key into the bar, if you don't hand it in, it won't get cleaned. Whilst we were there, our room was kept spotless. It is perhaps the little things that you appreciate, on our first night my wife had used a blanket as a spare pillow, when we returned to our room after being out all day, the blanket was back up on top of the wardrobe and another pillow had been left in its place. I know it's only a small thing but I think you appreciate it when the cleaner has taken the trouble to get you another pillow without you having to ask.

We only ate at the Mythos bar a couple of times, the pizza I would highly recommend, and along with some chips there is plenty for two. As with most couples, we have different tastes, so one half of the pizza had extra mushrooms for me, the other half extra tomato for the wife. Another little example of the staff keeping their customers happy.

The Mythos is approx a 5 minute walk away from the nearest taverna and supermarket, a wider choice of places to eat are approx a further 5 minutes walk along a flat, well lit and fairly quiet road. There is a bit of hill to walk up as you approach the apartments but I would describe this as only a slope and for anyone that is reasonably fit it is nothing to worry about. If you have problems walking I would suggest that there other places that are better situated than these. Certainly some of the other hotels and apartments on the island are up serious hills. The advantage of the location of the Mythos is that at night there is very little noise.

There is no entertainment provided, the bar plays some background music, but this is kept very low. Most evenings are spent chatting with fellow guests.

The pool by the way is a good size, plenty of free sunbeds and umbrellas and is kept very clean.

Having been twice, I would recommend these apartments to anyone that wants a quiet, relaxing holiday.
