We really enjoyed our holiday apart from the fact that the hotel was closed down as we had a private apartment it did not bother us.

We nearly had the place to ourselves there were only about another five or six families there. Hope they can get this place up and running again it would be a shame if it were to be pulled down or left abandoned.

Visited Compostella Beach Golf 3 in April.

First impressions were of a pleasant resort big pool area lots of rooms clean reception. Check in was efficient and the staff pleasant as they were throughout.

The rooms themselves were family generous separate kitchen large living area, clean but basic. I would say a 3 star I’d have been disappointed if I'd paid full whack for a 4 star.

The hotel in general needed sprucing up, painting of buildings rooms etc to give full value. Towards the end of the week I heard the hotel is shutting down for refurbishment.

The location is 10 mins walk from the main centre of Playa de las Americas and easily walkable.

All in all I think it was good value for the £180 week s/c and for a cheap n cheerful holiday I would recommend.

We arrived at this hotel by car which we had picked up at the airport, there is ample parking while you check in. You are then given a pass so you can come and go as you like - there is at least one security guard on patrol 24 hours a day at the entrance.

The reception area is really big for an apartment complex with a bar attached where the entertainment takes place. We parked our car and the lift goes to all floors from the car park which is underneath the complex - not scary at all.

We were allocated a penthouse apartment which was absolutely massive, the biggest apartment I have ever seen and I go on 4 or 5 holidays a year! We had a bathroom with bath, seperate kitchen with full oven, fridge, toaster, kettle and plently of drawer and cupboard space. The bedroom is spacious with mirrored wardrobes and there's a seperate living area both open out onto a very small narrow balcony. Up the spiral staircase we had another bedroom, shower room and also a huge balcony which directly overlooked the golf course and down to the sea. After 30 minutes there was a chap at the door and we had been brought the matresses for the sun loungers and a umbrella!

The restaurant in the complex serves a variety of food - Mexican, Chinese and Indian from memory, I could be wrong! The pools are huge and there's more than enough sun loungers for all the family, there are pool games for everyone and some children's entertainment as well during the day. The supermarket on-site is very well stocked, but slightly pricey, but there is not another one for a good 15 minute walk so it was good for picking up any essential items.

Overall I would rate this complex very highly, the staff were very attentive and we didn't hear anything from any other apartment the whole time we were there. The only complaint I would have is when I was trying to relax and sleep on our balcony you could hear the odd ball being hit on the golf course - how rude???!!!!!

I think the people who write reviews on this website need to remember this is a 4 star apartment complex and not a hotel which by the sounds of it is what some were expecting....

Happy holidays x.

We were allocation on arrival, the courier for First Choice forgot to tell us when to get off the coach. We arrived at our accommodation approx 9.30pm it was dark and looked very dull first impression.

We stayed in block 3 direction to floor were poor, entrance was dirty with litter on stair well, which remained the same throughout our stay. The light in first landing was out, this also remained the same for 7 days.

In the morning the sun was shining and the place looked a little brighter but we noticed that the room floors where not as clean there was shaving foam spillage in corner floor near the sink so it could not have been cleaned for our arrival. Bed linen was fresh.

The hotel and rest staff particularly were warm and very friendly.

The food was very hot with plenty on offer
the wine was disgusting for 11euro, and the bar was very pricey extortion to a degree.

Entertainment was shocking, the boy who did bingo calling sent us to sleep, the duet singers took a break after 2 songs they struggled to get started and were off stage for so long we went to our room an hour later and they still had not came back. I would say that entertainment was dire for kids and adults alike, we had to leave the establishment at night for entertainment which meant taxis and price was never the same more fool us for not asking on entry

First impressions were very good. The accomodation was excellent and all the staff seemed friendly.

The location though, was poor. Walking into town required some clever footwork to avoid all the used condoms on the pathway. Walking back at night was only attempted once after seeing the bushes move from the ladies of leisure. Taxis seemed reasonable at a couple of Euros, but would advise asking the price first.

Did not try the food at the hotel so can not comment.

Overall, nice hotel but would not go back due to the location alone.

I feel completely let down by all concerned involved in arranging my holiday of one week to this location. The staff at the resturants were quite intimidating to the point of if they said you can't have the meal you chose you would say ok then and still pay for it.

My eldest son of 18 years old was unable to wander the complex after about 10 pm due to other youths smashing the place up.However the guards were quite on top of this and dealt with the youths straight away.

Fortunatly we hired a car for the week so we were not faced with the prostitutes situated outside the complex!!!This complex has a "rough and ready"feel about it and you should always be on your guard.

We decided to do a beach day only to find out after my family had been on the water sports that swimming was not allowed due to the main pipes had burst from the hotels spilling sewage into the sea!!!

I didn't enjoy walking along the sea front at night what with everyone jumping at you trying to sell you something and if you tried to ignore them they'd shout stuff at you!!!!

COCKROACHES well, where do I begin a few days in to the holiday the little beasties became more noticeable to the point when my daughter was sitting on some grated steps out side the complex and to my whole families horror she was surrounded by them trying to get out of the steps.

Thomas Cook must know how awful this place is so why did they tell us what a wonderful destination we had chosen. We asked them to help us choose and they gave us this.Sadly I will never return to sunny Tenerife as it only has bad memories of a lot of money wasted and great disappointment.

It is almost a year later and still feel the same .Something should be done to improve this holiday destination to avoid constant disappointment from honest customers. The appartment we stayed in was lovely no complaints!!!!!!!!

However at night when you needed to sleep and it wasn't that early 12:00-1:00am You were constantly reminded that you were not alone, the walls were so thin that we could even here the chairs being dragged across the tiled flooring in the other appartments and they all had the most awful door buzzers that were rung constantly all through the night.

The entertainment for children went on far to late the children were tired and the adults bored out of their brains. When there was something to watch for the adults you could'nt see anyway as there wasn't enough seating for all the holiday makers unless you got there at 5pm in the evening and sat it out until 10pm.

We arrived around early afternoon at the Compostella III resort, first impressions were promising as the hotel receptionist was very friendly, efficient and was one of the few who spoke excellent English.

The room was basic, fresh linen and towels provided daily, but not cleaned at all. We had to wear flip-flops as the floor hadn't been swept or mopped before we moved in. Good view over the pool area which allowed me to see the kids when I was in the room and they were still down at the pool. Unfortunately, it was a bit noisy & rowdy after 11pm with teenagers hanging out. (Granted there is little for that age group to do there as I found to my cost)

The food was good in the restaurant with excellent choices for adults with more discerning tastes, but my kids and I noticed most other kids too, fed mainly on the plainer more recognisable (English) style fare. Service was OK, but they did tend to whip plates away from tables very quickly!

The bar predictably was a bit pricey and understaffed, meaning a long wait for orders while the entertainment was on. This got a bit tedious over a two week period (and didn't improve).

The Mirador restaurant was pretty awful, none of the staff seemed to enjoy what they were doing, they served take-away and sit down meals, but not many people ventured twice. Even the girl serving the ice creams didn't seem to realise that the ice cream had to actually be pressed into the cornet, lost count of the dropped cones I saw and that was before kids got to the doorway!

The entertainment ranged from the embarrassing to the not too bad, timings were awful and the kids club ran on too late for the younger ones, kids disco was dreadful, just kids jumping around on stage. No disco at all for teens or adults. Bingo...followed by the act, then nothing. The bar got very busy, and the computers in the foyer took a hammering every day...used by all the kids (all ages) 1euro for 5mins internet!! Pool tables (6) 1 euro 20cent per play, and cues were like gold dust, at one point there was only 2 cues for 6 tables.

During our stay, I noticed litter on the stairways and stains that remained there the entire fortnight. The lifts broke down often, usually late at night with all the young ones returning to their apartments, the alarm went off at least 6 times on our visit, one of these times my 15yr old was stuck just below floor level and had to climb out with 3 of his friends. Not for the fainthearted!

As mentioned by lots of others, the walk into town is pleasant but in high temperatures is only for the fit and healthy. Taxi's were charging whatever they thought they could get away with, when challenged though the two who tried it with me, backed down and took the 5 euros I offered.

I wouldn't return to this hotel, but if they sorted out the entertainment and had experienced staff manning the bars and restaurant, it would be a good family hotel.

Great accomodation, appartments are very spacious and clean...the only fault is the distance to the beach, but taxis were quite reasonable as long as you ask the price before you get in...

We found the staff very friendly including the cleaners (who do a great job)

We all enjoyed the entertainment especially the being acrobats and the comedy hypnosis show (which my sister and I took part in).

Entertainment staff Carrina and Shian were fantastic, plenty to keep the kids occupied.

Although we were self catering we did eat in the restaurant which we found very enjoyable and good value for your money.

We would recommend the Compostella to anyone. A fantastic holiday was had by all....

We got out of the taxi expecting to see the 4 star accomodation I was promised. I didn't.

All I saw was 2 pool tables, beer bottles and boxes of noodles from a chinese takeaway...not a very good first impression.
It took a while to get the keys for our room off the staff and took at least 25 mins to find our room.

When we found our room my jaw dropped,it was spacious and clean, our towels were changed daily that was all I liked about the hotel, the rooms.

We went down to the pool the next morning...it was a Butlins camp I could barely move. My daughter only had about 3 square feet of space in the pool she could barely move either.

The entertainment....zzzzzzzzzzzzz boring.

We got a taxi everywhere as it was not in a convenient place.

It was so bad we moved after 6 days, we were there for 2 weeks.

I don't recommened this place . If you like Butlins by all means go to the Compostella.

If you like to relax...DON'T!

The hotel itself was fantastic, one of the best ive stopped in,it was very clean.

We had a 2 floor apartment which was great overlookin the golf course which wasnt the best idea as we had 4 children and we couldnt let them go to the pool alone.Plenty of sun beds .

We never saw the pool bar open all the time we were there though . The hotel is miles from anywhere to get to the nearest local bar for a meal it took 20 mins down a dirt track and I was 6 months pregnant (not very nice) plus it was litterd with USED condoms I wouldnt like to walk down there at night anyway, so advice would be a taxi.

We ended up moving hotels 4 days into the holiday as they were 15 in our company and it was too far out we need to get 4 taxis into town every day and night as there was little else to do at the hotel the food was awful so we had to go out to eat it started costing more in taxis.

Rooms were very good but the main downside is the location, 20 mins from the sea and resort centre.

The poor quality food at the hotel meant we did this return journey twice each day. Normally walk down and taxi back, forget my Licence so could not hire a car as planned.

Taxi drivers were a bunch of crooks over charging by pressing night rate buttons in daytime and 2 or 3 times at night. They also did not want to give you any change.

Mirador restaurant at the hotel is a joke we had a meal there first night and it was terrible, staff did not have a clue. Food was disgusting.

Hotel operates a not reserving sunbed policy we were told on day 1, but this was never observed. All sunbeds gone by 9.15am each day but 50% empty apart from the towels until lunchtime.

Bar prices expensive as you would expect for a 4 star complex located out of town.

Just returned followng a two week break in July 2005.

First point to note is there are at least three hotels in las Americas called Compostella something or other. This is compostella beach resort 3, otherwise known as compostella golf (as it is (almost) entirely surrounded by playa las americas golf course).

We booked independently and saved a fortune of brochure prices. The Penthouse suite room did not dissapoint with great views over the golf course to the sea, beware that there are some suites which look directly over the pool area which may suit some but not us.

Family of five on half board. Food choice was superb, always something for the children to choose from. For all there were always a wide selection of hot meats, always a pasta and fish dishes. Themed (Chinese, Mexican or Tropical evenings once/twice a week) agree with the comment on sausages which did appear to be a little undercooked. My 6 yr old loved them and neither he or any of the party suffered any stomach problems.

Entertainment programme was well organised with some good evening shows. Childrens club - Mini disco was predictable as always with a lot of effort put into this by the staff and a varied programme of events held for all ages during the day.

Location is the only downside to the hotel. It is not 800/1000 metres to local beach - we were in the closest area of the hotel to the beach and even a direct line to the beach would be more like 1500 metres.

You cannot walk across the golf course (in a direct line), you have to walk around 400 metres to clear it and then down what we called "condom alley" presumably as (from other reports) it is frequented by prostitues during the evening - we did not see this, only plenty of evidence to suggest this!.

Hotel cleanliness was of good standard.

Any problems with the room were dealt with within a few hours, or first thing in the morning. Air conditioning never worked apart from once. (This made it very difficult to sleep).

We ventured into the breakfast buffet on two occasions it was passable but the sausages looked a little raw.

The location was good it was out of the way, but taxis were so cheap, though never the same price, but never more than a couple of euros difference.

The hotel staff were polite and efficient, though seemed a little impatient when booking families in, probably due to the large amount of families that got off of the coach at the same time.

Never really see the entertainment, but the younger ones enjoyed the mini disco.

Having read some of the reports regarding this hotel we were a little wary, but had a lovely holiday. Our apartment was very clean and spacious, we had a double balcony overlooking the golf course - excellent for late p.m. sun and a class of wine.
The Hotel food was good and there was plenty of it.
The entertainment for children was not so good. Evening entertainment was fine, but perhaps started too late.
With regards to the location of the Hotel, it was situated a litle way out. That suited us because you can get a way from the hussle and bussle of main Tenerife. The walk is about 20 mins and taxis are cheap. If your unsteady on your feet, or have childrens in buggies I would not recommend this hotel.

We stayed in the Compostella Golf Three for 2 weeks well it wasn’t for 2 weeks, we ending up moving hotels as this was out the way of everything unless you like walking 30mins to all the decent pubs restaurants and in taxis it was a fortune.

Tthe bar in the hotel was really expensive and the food was not very nice.

The pool tiles were falling off, also the main pool was having some maintenance done to it and the dust and noise was not very nice when trying to relax on holiday.

The entertainment was not good unless your easily pleased but the staff were very friendly and the rooms were good and spacious and clean.

Our balcony overlooked the volleyball court/reception entrance and was very noisy. Cars, coaches and delivery lorries coming in and going out of the underground car park all times of the day and night.

Room definitely not soundproof! Could actually hear conversations from people above clearly and every single footstep, we couldn’t get to sleep until the people above us had gone to bed!

Not very clean when we arrived dust in the wardrobes/drawers, kitchen cupboards etc, tea stains on kitchen doors. The plaster fell off the ceilings and walls every day where they had made patch repairs fortunately missing the bed but we had to wear our shoes. It may have just been our room and I did report it to the rep so maybe this will be resolved in the future.

The location was ok for us as we like to walk but dangerous to walk back at night, we were told of a recent incident so always returned by taxi.

Entertainment very poor not worth staying in hotel for.

I have stayed in better 3 rated accommodations and would not stay again.

The Hotel was very nice but the location was poor. There was quite a lot of walking to get into the main town.

The entertainment was average, so we went out most nights. The room was large and tidy but apparently the Penthouse rooms are a must!

The hotel bar was expensive, so I am sure that lot's of holidaymakers went out at night. I would not suggest staying here all inclusive, as the food did not look too clever.
I would go back here for a short winter break but it would not be a preferred choice in the summer.

We booked a "Penthouse" appt to stay in, well quite obviously it was not a penthouse but a 2 bedroomed appt with a veranda above. When we arrived our appt was very dirty, I even had to clean the bath before I showered my son. We visited the restaurant across the pool area and found crumbs and a dirty tablecloth (nice!). After discussions with the Manager, we had our room cleaned immediately, although I had already cleaned a lot of it. The dust levels were appauling and having looked under the beds, it was quite obvious it had not been swept or mopped properly in weeks.

I would beware if you are looking for a clean, comfortable and decent 4 star accomodation, you will certain not get it if you stay at Compastella 3. The maids were extremely lazy and to use the phrase "a cats lick and a promise" is an understatement.

Many other people we met were equally unhappy about the quality of their accomodation also, including the cleaning or lack of it!! Someone indeed saw the chef visit the gents and not bother to wash his hands afterwards-I think that says it all.

We stayed at this hotel in November. When we got there I was a bit worried about how far it was to the shops and bars but it turned out to be a 10 minute walk past the golf course.

The rooms were cleaned daily and the room itself was massive we had a large double balcony with doors coming off the bedroom and the living room overlooking the golf course. The kitchen was compact but had everything you would need the bathroom had two doors also one from the bedroom and one from the living room.

The entertainment was great for small children (discos, parrot shows, comedy shows etc) my son loved it.

We ate at the hotel a couple of times the food was nice a good selection of food and drinks available they also had a bbq once a week which I think was about 20 euros but that included your food and wine they had face painting to keep the children occupied.

The pool area was great we couldn’t go in the large pool because it was too cold but the smaller pool was heated and it was still a good size.

Also at the hotel was a supermarket quite expensive though you can get things cheaper down the road. A doctor on site and a play area for the kids

Overall the hotel was great I would recommend it to anyone.

Just returned from this huge holiday centre, had a great time with wonderful weather. We walked into the town every night which took about 20 mins with 2 kids.

Hotel was too large, but be very careful of the swimming pools which have loose tiles and the surrounding walkway tiles are very slippery. 2 peaople fell while we were there, but if you are going to this hotel you won't be dissapointed although unsure if it merits a 4 star.

We checked in to the hotel at about 1630,it was quicker and easier to pre-book a taxi via the travel agent not much extra cost either.By doing the latter the early morning flight transfer is much less stress!

Hotel staff were good on check-in despite being very busy.As we were two couples sharing a self catered appartment we requested an up-grade to give us an extra bedroom. This was offered at 25 Euros per night, well worth the cost as we were given a penthouse appartment with roof tce.

The appartment was well equipped and kept very clean. The maid service was good and discreet.

Did not try the food on the complex, tended to eat out or buy at the town supermarkets and eat in.

This was a quiet time of year but the weather was great every day.

The only real bad comment is about the pool....the loose and chipped tiles realy are dangerous. We felt that this area needed some attention ASAP.

I booked my accomodation with a private owner of an apartment on the complex. I see most people have booked through a tour operator and have stayed in rooms that require payment for TV, irons etc etc. Our 1 bedroom apartment was fabulous with all home comforts provided. I am thinking of asking for commision off the owner as we showed 2 couples around the apartment whilst we were there, and they couldn't believe the standard or the price we paid! There are various private owner web sites but we found ours by just searching the hotel name on google. We booked ours direct with the owner www.compostela3.com there are all sorts of useful links on this site. I must have asked the owner loads of questiond via e-mail and we were given lots of good tips.

Hotel staff were very nice. Entertainment team kept the kids happy but not really for the parents! A trip into Las Americas for that I think!

The path to the complex does require some attention and taxis would be advised at night. There were some ladies of the night at the bottom of the road so families would be better off in a taxi, but where in the world can you go and not stumble across the oldest trade in the world?

Hotel shop good for bread but everything else expensive. Netto outside Hotel Colon very cheap with a taxi rank outside, return trip costing about 3 Euro.

We like to visit Tenerife in the winter months and will hopefully return to this apartment again.

Arrived early morning, the reception staff were very helpful and speedy in the allocation of our room which was very clean and well equipped.

The kitchen consisted of a electric oven and hob large fridge freezer and all crockery including egg cups. As we stayed self catering we visited the hotel shop which can be expensive but ok for the essentials, your better taking the short 10 min walk down to the town or even a taxi but try to agree a price as no 2 taxis will never be the same price.

The town has a multitude of small and large supermarkets, gift and designer outlets among the hundreds of bars and clubs very nice during the day but you can't walk 10 meters at night without bar reps trying to entice you in to their bar with the promise of the cheapest 2 for 1 offer in town Also not forgetting the lookie lookie men trying to sell fake designer watches and gold if you do take them on barter they start from €55 but you can get them down to 11 or 10€ but there of poor quality and tend to last just a few days.

If eating out there are many to choose from but some of the buffet option restaurants the food can tend to be only luke warm best to stick to places where there lots of people dining.

The hotel pool is great even for the kids with plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas and no need to rush to get one in the morning, although the pool has small inch sq tiles and many of them are missing so watch your feet, and the tiles that surround the pool are dangerous when wet we lost count of the amount of people and children who fell, including our family.

The poolside cafe has a lot to offer but we didn't rate the food that good although the BBQ on a Thursday night above the pool is well worth a visit at €18 per head all you can eat and drink until desert is served but still plenty of time to sink a few jugs of sangria.

The entertainment is done by the reps not our sort of thing but if you want a cheesy quiet night in its ok but the Chinese acrobats were very good to watch and for kids. There are supervised games and activities every day, the only other thing I suggest to look out for is cockroaches very similar to a Volkswagen beetle in size. There is not a problem with infestation, we had 2 or 3 visits from these which can send screams of panic ringing out from those who are squeamish but they are common place to a country of that climate.

Overall we enjoyed our holiday and would return to this hotel. I hope this is of some help to you and enjoy your holiday.....

We have just arrived back from our Holiday. It was a pleasant stay and the weather was brilliant.

The food was a difficult one as we went Half Board. Most of the food when we first arrived was rather cold and to be honest we could not face it. Every week at the hotel we were given a Questionnaire to fill with regards to the Restaurant and I have to say it did improve slightly by the end of our stay.

The most disturbing aspect of the food was the pudding that I chose. It was a small square of cake with a cream filling. When I bought it back to the table in which we were dining my Friend said "What's that green stuff?" When I looked down to my disgust is was mould growing. I informed one the waiters and he said "I don't think it is" He took the cake away, no apology....nothing. Then out of curiosity I had a look at all of the other pieces of cake that were on the same tray and 90% of them were mouldy too. I called a different Waiter and showed him the cakes. He then took them all away. NO APOLOGY AGAIN THOUGH!
Put it this way none of us had another one of those!

There was a good combination of different foods, Fish, Beef, Chicken, Chinese Food, Chips, Veg, Bread, Salad, Pate, Cheese, Soup etc. The Fresh Bread was really really nice, the small Baps were rather hard and difficult to chew. There was also a section for children which consisted of, Burgers (no onion), Spaghetti, Fish Fingers, Pizza, Onion Rings, Potato's etc.

Breakfast - There was BACON...although it is not what people from the UK would call Bacon. It was more like.....FAT really. If you can see the Bacon you have better eyes than any of us. The Sausage did not seem cooked although it was, but again on most occasions it was only just warm. The scrambled egg was really nice and that was hot. I had that most days with some toast. There were plenty of different Cereal's.

The Staff in the Restaurant are mostly very pleasant and there English is not bad at all.

They all multi skill and work all over the complex.

POOL- The pool was very nice but some of the tiles are very loose and others are missing. The side of the pool is very very slippy so if you take children be careful.
We did not seem to have a problem getting a bed as others have mentioned.

The Hotel was very clean. Our room was fairly clean but the floor was often not mopped thoroughly.

The Bathroom and Kitchen were really nice. We had a Bath and Shower. The Maid put clean Towels in every other day, including Toilet Roll, Mopping the floor (cloth rather Dirty though) The Maids were really really nice.

The Supermarket at the complex was very expensive, it is a lot cheaper to go into Las Americas and get food and bits from there. For a 4 litre bottle of water if cost 1 Euro 10 cents. BARGAIN!

TAXIS- Beware of Taxis.

To walk to Las Americas from the complex it will take you about 15-20 mins. The easiest was it to walk down the path that runs just behind the Golf Course, then when you get near to the end of it turn left, and then take the first turning on your right to take you to the fantastic blue sea.

Taxi Drivers will try and rip you off. We got charged from 1.93 Euros to 5.98 Euros for a Taxi going to or coming from the same place/Area.

When you get in a Taxi ask how much it will be before you agree to get in or if you just get in then ask for a receipt once the Taxi has stopped. That way they will not press a button their meter that increases the price to something ridiculous. They will actually charge you what is on the meter. You should not pay any more than 3 Euros in the day for a Taxi to Las Americas or back to the complex....and for late at night after 12 not more than 5 Euros.

The Taxi's are all the same company.

We did not really watch much of the Entertainment. We did stay to watch a Hypnotist, he was rather good.

Just in reception everyday they have people that come in to sell different products. There was a handbag stall, Jewellery Stall, Caricature Stall/Pictures. They were quite nice.

The staff were all very nice and some of them were quite funny as they like to try and speak the way that we do.

There is a little cafe type place at the complex also. The Pizza's there are fantastic, I recommend that you try them.

Reps were on the site, but we did not have much to do with them. We mentioned about the Taxi's but they were not bothered at all.

I would go to this complex again even though I had Mouldy food.

I liked Las Americas too, not many shops for me though...but hey we're all different.

If you go here enjoy it.....nothings perfect...JUST WATCH THOSE TAXI'S.

When we visited Tenerife me and my family enjoyed it very much.

Although the location wasn’t centre in the town it was only a 4-5 euro cab.

When we arrived the people at reception were very friendly and we got to our room very quickly.

I didn’t eat much as the food wasn’t too pleasant.

The entertainment was brilliant and did a range of shows mostly for children but it varied from parrot shows to Grease, Saturday night fever and the entertainer Leo was gorgeous and very friendly yummy!

I would definitely go again

we were initially happy with our choice of hotel apart from its location. It is situated smack bang in the middle of a golf course with only one road in and out. With four small children in our party we only tried walking into towm on one occasion. The walk back being mainly uphill. This meant a hire car and taxis for the rest of the week.
The hotel bar was very expensive. Over five euros for a bacardi breezer and often understaffed.
The entertainment was a mixture of what you would expect on a package holiday along with some great acrobatic shows. It kept the kids happy whilst we had a last couple of drinks before bed.
The swimming pool was shallow enough for my five year old to stand in bit hundreds of the mosaic tiles were missing and we all caught ou toes on them.
I f I were going to visit this hotel again on a self catering basis it would only be if i were on a adult golfing holiday.

Just got back from this hotel , 2 weeks with our family. The rooms where cleaned on a regular basis and where spacious with good views and facilities.
The pool area was busy and beds where difficult to get unless you waited there at 7.30 am. The tiles around the pool are lethal and we witnessed at least 6 people slipping heavily. If you take children ensure they wear footwear around the pool please.
The hotel bar is well equiped but expensive and under staffed 3.40 euros for a pint of local beer. Some evenings we sat and watched the entertainement which was the arguments at the bar regarding who would be served next. I had one member of staff tring to palm a 10 euro note from my change, without success, which was duly reported to the management. On the whole all the staff where very helpfull.
Eating out is cheap and can be cheaper if you know where to go. Most drinks are 1 euro each during the day in peurto colon and a full breakfast can be had for as little as 1.85 euros.but watch they don`t sting you on the price of drinks.
A good meal is china garden at peurto colon, cheap and chearfull hot chinese buffet , eat as much as you like for 5 euros, great selection and freindly staff, well worth a visit.
Taxis are essential at this hotel and the 123 cars will never charge you the same fair twice, they have a magic button for tourists which bumps the price up when you arrive so watch out and try to agree a fair before you set off. Night walks back from town are not recommended due to the prostitutes who ply their trade on the route to the hotel, the day time is safe and hassle free though. I would recommend no valuables left unatended on the beaches as they will soon go.
One lady was mugged outside the hotel during our stay and she was assaulted infront of her small child for her handbag, common sense says don`t let single females and children go walking about in the dark with handbags. Appart from this a good time was had by all.
My recommendation, get a hotel closer to town, you`ll save £100 per week in taxis and a lot more on drinks.

We have stayed in this hotel quite a lot. The first few times we went were great.

The staff were brilliant and the entertainment was brilliant, all the kids went off, the but the last time we went the standards had droped incredibly

There were loads of tiles missing out of the pool which cut a few of the kids feet open. The floor tiles were slippery nearly all of us sliped over. This man slipped over hit his head and ended up in the pool he had a serious head injury

The hotel was very crowded, hard to get a sun bed but it was high season so that didn't help much the staff were stressed out a lot

The location of this hotel is not that good an if you were planning on staying in this hotel I would say to come when it's low season

I have got to say this hotel was immaculate! They had lots of things for the kids to do. (E.g Playground, water polo, computers, nightly entertainment). The room was very spacious. We had and upstairs to our apartment which had a balcony looking out to the golf course and the other to the pool!

Our room was cleaned everyday. The staff were very helpful. The only problem was that there were tiles missing in the pool which one of my children cut there toe on! The pool area is also very busy. Meaning you'd have to make sure u had a towel on a bed before 8am!

Even though I would sure visit the hotel again!

The apartment we were in, which overlooked the golf course was big and spacious. The kitchen was a proper kitchen with an oven, four rings, fridge freezer, toaster and coffee maker. There were plenty of cupboard space. The double bedroom was also very roomy with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space for hanging your clothes. The only thing I would say about our apartment was it took us about 1/2 hr to find it once we were given our key - hotel map not very clear. Apartments cleaned every day.

There were always plenty of sunbeds, even at 3pm in the afternoon. The sunbeds are free unless you want a pad (which costs 2 euros per day).

We did not get involved in the entertainment but seemed quite good for children. There is also a large sandpit which is child safe.

The apartments are quite a walk away from the centre of town. From the apartments you have to walk up a hill and then it is downhill into town. Walking back from town during the day is ok (apart from in the afternoon when it is too hot) but I would recommend a taxi at night. There is a path but it is not lit.

The shop on the hotel grounds sells freshly made bread - lovely.

In all we have a great time and I would recommend Compostella Beach Golf III especially if you like golf!

Excellent! The rooms were very clean and very spacious, the pool area was ideal for young children as it is only about 3 foot deep but very slippy around the sides. The food was nice in the pool side bar but a bit on the expensive side.

The entertainment was ideal for kids but not at all for adults but is was a nice walk (about 15 mins) to the main bars and restaurants in Playa De Las Americas which were really nice the food and the drink there was very cheap! We also went to a place that they call the patch this was a street full of pubs and restaurants for families. We spent a few nights in a pub called The Royal the entertainment there was brilliant we had a good laugh.

The staff at the hotel was very nice and they all spoke very good English. If you do visit this hotel i would recommend you go self catering because it was very cheap to eat out and you dont have to eat at set times. I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone and i am going to book again later on in the year!

Me and my pal booked this about a week before travelling a got an absolute bargain - I say that now due to the fantastic holiday we had and mostly due to our accommodation.

I was really pleased to see such a nice complex when being dropped off at the hotel - a little further away than we wanted as we wanted to visit Veronicas nightly. We were seen promptly and the reception area and staff were polite and efficient.

When we found our room we were absolutely DELIGHTED. We were right near the pool area on the ground floor and when opening the door found a beautiful apartment with 2 bedrooms (we were amazed due to the low price we paid)....our balcony was huge and overlooked the beautiful golf course and the sea. Idyllic. My friend shouted at me as she had realised that there was a spiral staircase which led down to a whole new apartment!!! Fantastic!! We were so utterly delighted.

We didn't visit the hotel so can't comment on the food but it was nicely presented. We did visit the cafe and I must admit, the food wasn't excellent but it was convenient and not overpriced so we didn't mind too much.

The location was not great - we used the taxis every night to go to Veronicas. The reception staff organized one to come and they were usually outside by the time the phone was put down so a real nifty service.

The hotel staff seemed very friendly and chatty and the "entertainers" seemed to be enjoying themselves - didn't stick around to see all the fun but the kids seemed to be loving the girl with the weird pink outfit on!! We became friendly with one of the rep's and with only 20 minutes to go until our coach picked us up, we almost didn't get on it.....but we realised that it was quite irresponsible!! Shame!!

I would, without a doubt, love to visit this hotel again. I couldn't fault it.

As a party of 20 golfers this was an ideal holiday location. We had stayed here the previous year and had a great time, next to the golf course and only a short walk to town. This year we had 5, two bedroom, 2 storey apartments all in a row, very handy when some people couldn't find their keys after a night out.

If going as a golfer then for really cheap golf you can pay for a 10 round ticket at the golf course and you can use it for more than one person.

The pool needs some renovation due to tiles coming adrift and the hotel bar could be cheaper, but the rooms were cleaned every day and fresh towels left.

A good base for a golfing holiday.

We went on half board basis as this was the first family holiday we had been on abroad however not worth the extra money as food wasnt brilliant and breakfast cereals where like cheap value packs it was cheaper to eat out in tenerife 3 euros for a full english breakfast.

Hotel was clean and tidy and the maid service for the rooms was fantastic in fact couldnt fault the staff at all entertainment was good but the animation team where being changed all the time so never seem to know what was going on.

The location isnt bad if you dont mind walking however not suitable for wheelchairs as the path to playa de las americas is very uneven.(courtesy bus required) views from out side rooms are fantastic we overlooked the 15/16 greens of the golf course mountain views to our right and sea to our left brilliant.

Only problem we really had was the pool is freezing as the shape of the hotel doesnt really allow the sun to warm the pool, the supermarket is a little pricey but sells everything you may need and only two washing machines and one dryer for the whole complex best time to go to laundrette is around 3pm

This well run family complex is set in the middle of Las Americas golf course.

We found the hotel staff to be very friendly and helpful (they moved us to a better view room on request at no extra charge). The rooms were cleaned every day and were well equipped although there is a charge for TV and microwave if used.

Entertainment was geared towards children and families and although not professional the entertainers were just that ENTERTAINING. There are plenty of activities organised for both adults and children.

Drinks we thought were not as overpriced as we had been led to believe nor was the on site supermarket. (we carried a 5 litre bottle of water from las Americas to find out we had saved 15 cents or 10p)

The only are of concern at the complex is the swimming pool, it is very slippy and tiles were missing from the floor.

To play on the golf course costs 49 Euros between May and Sept (approx £32 although buggies are extra)

If visiting this complex it is a 15 min walk to las americas but do not walk the return jouney after dark as prostitutes and muggers use the unlit path at night. (a taxi at aroung 4 euros is the best option).

All in all a very good hotel for the money paid

We are regular visitors to Tenerife and have stayed at a variety of 4 and 5 star hotels on the island.

I have to say that this is the worst so far. Definitely NOT a 4 star by any stretch of the imagination. You pay extra for TV useage, hairdryers and microwave - items included in other resorts.

The pool are was not cleaned properly (half hearted attempts by uninterested young lads) The pool itself suffers from loose tiles which have come unstuck in their hundreds.

We stayed in a two bed duplex, which, whilst large and airy was not fitted to 4 star quality. The rooms were only cleaned 4 times during one week. The entertainment was distinctly average, although to be fair the staff were pleasant enough. The kids club staff tried hard and most kids seemed to enjoy themselves. Hope you like walking - its a trek into town although taxis cost only around 3 euros or so.

The golf course attached is beautifully maintained and obviously this is where the resort diverts its funds. I did not play the course but would have liked to.

If you are used to 4 star resorts then this is not the place for you.

The hotel is really nice. It is big but only on about 3 levels and surrounded by the golf course which is beautiful.
It has good security with staff on 24 hours. I don't know whether it's needed but it's reassuring.

We were concerned about the comments regarding the walk into town but it was a leisurely 15 minutes to the centre on a pleasant, downhill path. A taxi back up the hill is a good idea and costs 3 - 5 Euros (2 or 3 £).

Hotel staff were efficient and friendly. First Choice were very good particularly Abbie.

The food is a buffet and was very good.

The only critisisms I would offer if I had to is-

-that we thought the evening entertaiment was poor at the hotel. It was all done by the hotel entertainment staff and whilst they are pleasant and enthusiastic we would have stayed in more to watch some professional acts. The entertainment seemed all aimed at children which leads on to,
-the hotel is aimed at families and therefore there are lots of kids. It may not suit couples unless they like noisy children everywhere.

This is a 4-star aparthotel, which adjoins the golf course - between Playa de las Americas and Los Christianos. The name of the Compostela Beach Resort is misleading. The resort is nowhere near the beach and anyone who wants the beach must use a taxi or take a 15 minute walk.

The premises are fairly new. Our bedroom looked out over the golf course, with a lovely outlook and distant views of the sea. The accommodation was very comfortable and our apartment was clean and spacious, with a separate bedroom, lounge and fully equipped kitchen.

The buffet restaurant serves breakfasts, lunches and dinners - with an impressive choice of dishes. The food quality was generally very good. Guests can opt for self-catering, half-board or all-inclusive terms. We chose half-board.

There was nothing seriously wrong with this hotel and our holiday was good value for money. However, various aspects of our holiday were sub-standard for a 4-star establishment.

Several members of the hotel staff would benefit from attendance at charm school. One of the receptionists was particularly discourteous. After check-in, I returned to the reception desk to obtain the safe key for our apartment. The receptionist was too busy to attend to my requirements and told me that to come back later, because the staff were changing shifts.

I subsequently discovered that she had also failed to issue a meal ticket, to show that we had paid for half-board accommodation. This caused problems when we arrived at the restaurant for dinner. The head waiter turned us away from the restaurant - and told us to go back to reception.

We drank wine with our evening meals. When the wine-waiter took our order, he asked for our room number. We assumed he would charge the cost of the wine to our room - which is normal practice in 4-star hotels. Consequently, we were highly embarrassed when the head waiter accosted us on the second evening and accused us of failing to pay for our wine.

Tiles around the swimming pools were highly glazed. We felt this was dangerous, because the tiles became very slippery, when wet.

There were notices in the swimming pool area, with a long list of rules. Guests were not allowed to listen to radios etc., in case the noise disturbed the other guests. However, the hotel’s PA system played incessant music throughout the day - which seemed rather inconsistent.

However, our main concern concerned the “rip off culture” which pervaded the Compostela Beach Resort. The hotel charged 2-euros per day, for the use of a sun-bed. Prices in the bars were very expensive and we would have been very cross, if we had opted for all-inclusive terms - because many of the drinks involved a supplement.

There was an extensive car park which cost 3-euros per day. Not surprisingly, most guests left their cars outside on the roadway. The TV’s in the apartments were fitted with coin meters, costing 1-euro per hour. Many of the TV channels on the list were unavailable.

The hotel facilities included a supermarket. Everything was grossly over-priced (in comparison to the supermarkets in the adjacent resorts - some 15-minutes walk away). Specific examples included:

Pack of two carrots 1.30 euros
50cl San Miguel beer 2.50 euros (46 cents in Los Christianos)
Can of Heinz baked beans 1.80 euros
33cl can of tonic water 1.70 euros (50 cents in Los Christianos)

This could have been a very good hotel. The basic room rate was very competitive and we did not allow the negative aspects to spoil our holiday. However, anybody contemplating a holiday at Compostela Beach Resort should be very wary of the expensive add-ons.

we stayed in a 1 bed and a 2 bedroom duplex apartment which was really nice and had a very large roof terrace.the rooms were very nice and very big. some of the rooms over look the golf course which were lovely. the hotel is about 25 minutes walk to parque 111 (the begining of los christianos)which was fine in the day but at night you have to walk by a very busy dual carriage way without hardly any lights which is abit dangerous.however a taxi was only 3/4 euros. the staff were really friendly especially max who did the entertainment for the kids. the kids disco is great and the bingo afterwards is soooo funny. the entertainment for the grown ups is really good and varied everynight. the golf is very expensive but a fantastic course. it does get very busy so advisable to book early. also if you book through the hotel and not through the golf course you do get discount. the correct golf clothing must be worn and ladies are not aloud in the golf club with strappy tops! i would visit the hotel again, its just a shame it is abit far out but if you dont mind walking then its fine.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!!! The rooms were nice but the rest oh my god how can people rate the food highly?!!!!

If you have a death wish maybe! Flies walking a long the dried up beef YUMMY! i'm sorry but we're not snobs but we do have standards! and this was no way a 4 star hotel! i feel as tho thomson's 4*half board on the south was extremely misleading as we had expected nice food (well at least edible) but apparently thomson's rate their late deals on a different star basis which is MISLEADING! This tricked the majority of the holiday makers staying in the hotel on our visit and there was plenty of complaints put through not that it came of anything!

If we had been staying s/c it would have been a lot less of a disappointment because the rooms were really lovely but it was the fact that you had to eat out cos the restaurant resembled more of a butlins style canteen! In fact the compostella beach golf 3 could b compared to a cheap holiday camp.

The location was also a bit iffy as the walk into town was via "ladies of the night" looking for business and druggies hence there was plenty muggings. (Oh but according to our travel rep it had a very low crime rate so maybe his honestly would have warned a few oblivious holiday makers of the surroundings the hotel was set in) so there was added expense to get out of the hell hole i.e taxi's to the beach, to the main resorts etc... and it must be noted this "4 star" hotel does not have a beach bus like you would expect AND no form of public transport goes anywhere near this hotel.

Sorry for our honesty but it could have ruined a first time visit to Tenerife. If it wasnt for the resort outside of this establishment we probably would have hated our holiday. We would definately go back to Tenerife but DEFINATELY not the Compostella Beach Golf 3! Maybe it had just went downhill by September 2003 judging by the other feedbacks!

I went to the Compostela Beach hotel in August 5th 03.

I thought it was brilliant the entertainment was excellent the activities were good and the hotel was lovely (apart from the cockroaches). The entertainers were very funny and fun to be around . The male entertainers were gorgeous too espcially the french one Johnny.

The swimming pools were nice and big, and the Adults, Teenagesr, and little kids got to play group games like waterpolo (the entertainers joined in). And outside of the pool people got to play more group games like vollyball, babminton etc. If you didn't want to do that you could play normally in the pool or go to the poolside bar or sunbathe.

I think the best part was the night entertainment, the mini disco was on at 8:45pm then the bingo and sometimes you would have the quiz and after that at 10:30pm the big shows.

The Compostela Beach Golf 3 is a great place to go on holiday no matter how old or young you are.

When we first got to our hotel room we knew something was wrong, there was 2beds in the living room and a sofa, and a bedroom at the back, we had a booked a two bedroom, we went downstairs and asked them to check, they comfirmed we had the wrong room and apolagised, they asked us to consider waiting till the morning as it was early hours, in the morning they showed is a golf course view room which we prefered was a pool side view, the only room left was the penthouse suite, my father said we would pay extra, the hotel manager said we could have it for free which was great.
The Compostela Beach Golf 3 hotel was brilliaint, the rooms were so clean and the bed sheets had been newly washed, the bathroom toilet has plastic to prove that it had been cleaned thouroughly, it was a place where you could live, the beds were comfy the kitchen wad homely, it made me and my parents and brothers feel right at home. There was a television which was a euro per hour.
The pools were excellent and very joyful to go in, the sign says no diving, no jumping and no lilos but no-one cared everyone jumped in and bought lilos (also available on site)and everyone had a laugh.
The entertainment at night was fantastic, such things went on like hypnotism, bird shows eg parrot riding a scooter, theatre productions eg grease, it was a very joyful night which started around 7 and ended at 1am but people left as they liked, they had two bars which serve fair prices and you also had waiters coming around the entertainment areas bringing around free bowls of crisps.
There were around five computers and had such things installed like msn, aol. They ran by a euro each half an hour which is quite long.
The people there were very friendly, thats why we are going there again this year.
Happy Booking. :)

This is a great place to go for a holiday .The kids club are cool. Say hi to casper from Danny and Georgina my kids if you would. The night time shows are very good. The rooms are very clean and all the staff are very helpful on the down side the pool area is very slippy and the shop and bar is very expensive, but that aside, it was a great holiday for all of us its about 10mins from a cost cutter and 15 mins from a netto. They both come in very handy also the golf course next door is very expensive 80 euros for 18 holes with your own clubs 120 euros without but all in all a good holiday so we have booked again next year Jan 04 half board though .Hope this has been of some use Reece Mel Danny and Georgina

Lovely complex. On site mini market expensive. Great rooms, largest ever stayed in, request an upper floor with golf course views, stunning! Didn't play the course, was told by others it's in great condition and it looks it. €80 a round though !

Location of these apartments is only draw back. It's about 20 mins walk along a dimly lit pathway to get you to decent restaurants bars etc. Not a problem if you don't mind walking, hard work pushing a buggy with half a dozen pints of guinness and spaghetti marinara sloshing about inside your tum!

Pool and pool area spacious, decent evening entertainment. I believe they (First Choice) are planning a kids club here for summer 2004.

Overall an really good complex. Enjoy!

We (me & hubby) went to Tenerife for a week with my parents from 6th - 13th October. When we arrived ther was a heatwave and it was 37 degrees!!

Having just stayed one terrible night at the Parque de la Paz we eventually persuaded the JMC rep we should be moved. There was a fee of £10 each for this priviledge.

We were a little worried about where they would transfer us to so sent the men for a look around. They were amazed at the contrast and said we must stay there.

On arrival we were impressed by the surroundings and the cleanliness of the hotel. The reception let us choose to either to share a 2 bedroomed 2 storey room or seperate rooms. We had a look at the 2 storey rooms but it was the upstairs room wasn't very private as when you go up the spiral staircase there is no door or curtain. We picked the 2 seperate rooms and spent about 10 minutes trying to find them in this vast hotel!! When we arrived in our room we were absolutely thrilled with it. As you go in the room there is a well equipped kitchen on the right followed by a double bedroom which connects to the bathroom (which has 2 doors - the other leads to the hall), then we had a lounge with a table & 4 chairs, a couch, 4 little chairs and a table and a pay per view television (in Euros - 1 Euro is 100 minutes). Then we saw that we also had a spiral staircase which lead to an unfinished upstairs - this has a bathroom and 2 huge balconies. One balconey overlooks the reception and pool area and the other balconey - WOW - this has 2 sunloungers, a set of garden table and chairs and a view to die for. This overlooked the golf course, city centre and the ocean. Great place for getting a tan in private!

We were staying on a half board basis and I must admit the food is very good. The evening meal could have had a little more variety but the quality is excellent and the staff are very friendly.

This complex is a little far away from the town/beach area so taxis are a must. They vary in price from 4 to 6 Euros. If they had a courtesy bus it would be perfect.

The entertainment is OK but the PA system is @#%$ so you get muffled sounds from the speakers in the entertainment hall.

If you really want a proper look around the surrounding area then I'd definately recommend the hot air balloon. It is 12 Euros for adults and 6 Euros for kids and goes up for about 10 minutes - It's fab!!!

Anyway in conclusion - the JMC reps are very good, the staff at the hotel are courteous and helpful and the rooms are of a very good standard. Not bad seeing as though the hotel has only been open for 8 months.

We would definately go back there.

Stayed here August 02.

Excellent, a bit far out but taxis only 3 euros to Los Cristianos. Pools not deep, ideal for young children. Apartments enormous, very clean. Try get one with view of golf course.

No rowdy teens here as they are very strict on noise after 10.30. There were 9 of us, 2 families, had a brilliant time, lovely apartment, full size oven and hob not that we used it. No creepy crawlies.

If you want brilliant accommodation, nice pool, clean rooms book it. We hired a 9 seater van for a week, great fun.

This was a great holiday!

The entertainment was very good for children and adults was excellent. A courtesy bus should be available as it was too far to walk to the town centre , altough there were taxis available. The restaurant both al'a carte and the buffet were very very good , the food was first class and very reasonably priced. The pools were very clean and large , but had tiles missing from the bottom. The bar at night was very busy , but had a great atmosphere. The maid service was very good. Any problems were dealt with quickly. It was a brilliant holiday and would recommend it for anybody.

There is also a BBQ every Thursday night , but is quite expensive if your NOT half-board. There is also a supermarket in the complex. In the supermarket there is a poor variety and quite expensive. The pool water is very cold. By the pool side it is quite slippy so do not run as I fell and it can be quite sore!! In los Cristianos there is far better hygiene and range of food than Las Americas , but Las Americas has more night life! In las Americas I visted an outstanding show called Decades (tuesdays are family nights). Beaches are quite dirty and far away from the complex. but all 'n' all it was a brilliant holiday!!!! (watch out for the looky looky men)
