I decided to treat my mum to her dream holiday to Barbados, I found the Island Inn Hotel from my staff travel website. For the price we payed i would have never expeced it to be as perfect as it was. We stayed there for 7 nights in March.

We arrived at the hotel and were greeted by hotel staff who straight away showed me and my mum to our room. To our amazement, the room was beautiful, spacious, clean and had 2 double king size beds! The bathroom was exceptionally clean and also a really good size. We were welcomed straight away by fantastic neighbours Colin and Cath who had been to the Island Inn year after year for i think about 6 years and gave us some information about what there was to do and a bit about the hotel etc. We couldnt believe what they were saying and then we were greeted by another couple Jacqui and David, who lived in the room opposite from us. We then met Niall and his dad Howard that night and then a few days later Stuart and Faye joined us. They were all fantastic people and were missing them dearly!

The food was fantastic. Could not fault it at all. You were fed 4 times a day, 3 main meals and afternoon tea which usually would be sandwiches or cheese and crackers. The meals were all al la carte except breakfast and wednesday nights where a buffet barbeque would take place which was delicious. The Banana splits are a must-have :)! drinks alcoholic and non alcoholic are available all day, cocktails are v.nice! you can bring your glasses anywhere in the hotel including by the pool and in your rooms, they are very relaxed. Tea and coffe served day and night. Ice alo available any time of day.

The location of the hotel was very good because your a walking distance of everything. There is a 'reggae' bus which you can catch just outside the hotel on the main road for 1.50BD which takes you to Bridgeton or St. Laurence gap. Shopping in Bridgetown is fab, make sure you take your passport with you to get tax free goods and also be carful where you go because some parts of the town can be very intimidating.

The hotel staff were absolutly brilliant. Nothing was ever a problem for them. They would always go out there way to serve you and to make you feel relaxed and comfortable. Look out for Earl and Micheal who make the great cocktails!

I think the only thing that the hotel needed was a bit more evening entertainment. I think it was on the wednesday where there was a dancer, barbeque and music, it was great fun. Even if its jus a bit of music whilst you eat your dinner or sitting at night while you have a few drinks.

I will definatly be going back to this hotel 100% its absolutly perfect. Great value for money. Im looking to book it right now!

**For the young ones harbour lights is just a 10 minute walking distance drinks all night $20. Or go to St. Laurence gap-you can get a taxi for 5-10BD, McBrides is good(happy hour at 1am)and the Ship inn(expensive but great music)!!**

**also we recommend the 'Rubiyat'catamaran(can be booked through the hotel) includes free transfer to and from hotel -5 hours of sailing- free alcohol/non alcoholic drinks-lunch at the sandy lane resort-snorkelling with tropical fish and swimming with the turtles- a must do!!!only 75BD-a bargain!!-the crew r great fun too**

**at 7am every morning listen to 'morning is broken'**
