| said: I'd like to clear up some confusion over the name of this hotel.
We booked through First Choice and they call it "The Ocean Resort Hotel Las Americas". You could not walk to las Americas from this Hotel as its just too far.
Whilst there it was apparent to us that it was in fact called "Ocean Palace Hotel Costa Adeje/Playa Fanabe"
Despite all this the hotel we thought was excellent, it does live up to its 4 stars. We had a room on the 4th (Top Floor) and it was spotless. The food was good with quite a good selection and choice.
First Choice laid on all the entertainment and they did a brilliant job as all their staff were very dedicated to their jobs and worked very hard, always with a smile on their faces.
The hotel reception staff were also very friendly and helpful. However some of the dining room staff did seem a bit miserable but I noticed that if you made the effort with them they seemed to brighten up a bit. The evening crew were much better and worked really hard.
Our party consisted of the following ages 41,37,18,17 & 13. This always helps when reading reviews as you can gage it better if you know the ages.
The Ocean Palace is very much out of the way from Las Americas, we did go a couple of times by taxi so if want the nightlife it is accesible. You can also walk down to Costa Adeje beach front and Playa Fanabe where you will see numerous bars and restaurents to suit all tastes. The area itself is very well to do compared to Las Americas and i'd call it the posh end of town.
The beach is about a 10/15 minute stroll downhill and there were plenty of sunbeds and sunshades always available if you could not get around the pool. I know lots of people don't like doing this if they are all inclusive but come on people you need to see the resort your are staying at. My partner even had a foot massage on the beach, this was a first.
The entertainment at the hotel was very varied and catered for families that want to join in. So if you like games and quizes, bingo, karaoke then it is for you. We also saw a parrot show, queen tribute, 70's nite. There is something for everyone in my opinion.
During the day lots of stuff laid on for the kids of all ages up to 17. Plus water polo, volleyball, football, darts, pool, water games etc. Its true about the sunbed dash but you get that at every hotel these days. Maybe more sunshades would be a helpful..
No other complaints apart from the following if I had to be picky... more knives and forks in the dining area, more tables and chairs near poolside bar and more hot water between the hours of 5pm and 7pm. Being at the top of the hotel meant going back to change a little earlier to get a good supply of hot water. We did mention this to reception and it did improve slightly as the week went on. Talking to other people it seemed that the hotel rooms were better than the self catering apartments. We actually had suites in the main hotel and they were wonderful with little kitchen, fridge etc and adjoining living room, it even had a small hallway, which is not what you expect from a hotel room. Loads of storage space we could not fault it and would definately go back.
The weather was really hot for end of March and start of April, we had a lovely week.
We did a boat trip to Los Gigantes and saw dolphins and pilot whales, this trip was brilliant as we got a full meal provided. You could even get packed lunches from the hotel to take out with your all inclusive option so we had more food than anything else. You can not go hungry in Tenerife that is for sure.
An excellent Easter Holiday....

| said: This was a great holiday at a great hotel.
The food was excellent. There was everything for everybody no matter what kind of food takes your fancy. The entertainment on an evening was brilliant.
Kids disco hour and at least 2 further shows. Most of them were produced by the own hotel entertainment team but they were brilliant and very professional. We saw Snakes show, birds of prey show, parrot show, Grease the musical, Abba tribute and Robbie Williams tribute all in one week. The wife even got 2 karaoke nights in as well!
The only negatives I have is probably the sunbathing area. We went in March which to me isnt a busy period. We simply could not find a sun bed in the main pool area know matter how early we were in a morning. This was sort of ok as there are 2 pool areas in this hotel and we could always find a sun bed at the less popular pool... but... they didnt always open the bar at that side of the hotel or if they did it was often quite late in the morning or after dinner.
I have to say by the way the staff at the hotel were quite friendly apart from the bar staff... they hardly ever smiled and were quite robotic... I know it must get a bit tiresome doing this job all day but everyone else seemed to know how to smile!
Lastly, finding a sun bed that wasnt broken was also a bit of a challenge. If you dont mind just layong flat all day then not a problem.
Overall though a very nice holiday and a nice hotel. Would go again!

| said: Just got back from this hotel.Went all inclusive. The location is a little further away from things but for families its ideal.10 minute walk to the beach.
I found the hotel clean, the maid service good. The food was to a good standard and the hotel staff friendly and very hard working(do they go home?).In all, yes I would return to this hotel. In fact would consider going back there next year. The alcohol beverages have such little alcohol in them you could drink quite a few pints and still not feel a thing. This is good because it gives you the illusion of having a good drink, without the after effects. This is in the hotels best interest as they dont want to see drunk rowdy foul mouthed people who are throwing up everywhere on free booze. My whole trip I didn't see one person drunk in the hotel.
After reading other reviews I was dreading going.(we'd already booked before reading the reviews).
But I'm glad I didn't because all in all its a pretty good hotel all round.Bear in mind this is February 08, so not as busy as in mid summer. The food was varied and a good quality although after one week of eating like a pig I was ready to come home.
So thumbs up from me.I stayed in the hotel not in the self catering appartments so accomodation may vary in quality. The room safe was 25 euros for the week and that included a refund and the activating key when returned to reception.
One last thing dont book your excursions through your rep, they really are overpriced..loads of places do them outside check prices..eg trip to loro parque with the rep ..adult 53 euro per ticket..I got ours for 31 euro per ticket.big savings on a family

We where allocated a room which was smelly dirty and in disrepair the bath was rusted there was mould on all the walls and rooms where dirty and smelly.
We complained to reception and they allocated another room but it had a rusted bath, shower curtain was badly stained there was dirt on the walls mould on the ceiling and surfaces where dirty and sticky. I contacted the Rep next morning he sent cleaners round they didnt do much cleaning didnt make any difference place still dirty smelly and in disrepair. The food was of poor standard the pool area dirty kids found sausage in pool.
My advise dont go here. A poorly managed hotel

| said: I'm not too sure whether I actually enjoyed this holiday or not. We went out 18th Dec this year and flew back on xmas day.
The First Choice entertainment team and kids club reps here are very good. Natalie one of the entertainment team has an excellent voice and the girls quite obviously enjoy their job. However, it felt a bit groundhog day to me. Perhaps I've just stayed in too many first choice hotels!
The hotel itself is ok, its not fabulous and there is no way on this earth its a four star. We were lucky enough to be allocated a superior suite in the hotel which probably did make the four star grade. However, having seen the other hotel rooms I would say they are three star.
The food is a different matter, I'm hard pushed to give it a two star rating. It was the same old boring bland stuff almost every night. We've been all inclusive several times and I would say this is the worst food I've come across in a hotel yet unfortunately.
If you get a really cheap deal here and are not used to staying in decent four star hotels then you will probably love it.
I have a real problem with the amount of seriously drunk people who stayed here during the period. These people just let their kids do want they want while they stayed at the bar and got drunk then made a twit of themselves.
Definitely won't be returning to this hotel, but as I said, for a cheap deal its ok. Quite sad as First Choice are a great holiday company and this hotel really lets them down with the food quality!

| said: We have just returned from this hotel, after a week there. It was very tired and had clearly seen better days. The standard of cleanliness is appalling in the public areas, and as for the attitude of many of the other guests.....it makes you ashamed to be British.
How this can be rated as a four star is beyond me - litter and leftovers by the pool all day, unidentifiable black bits in the swimming pool, at one point my husband watched two children playing catch with a dirty nappy by the pool while I saw a small boy weeing against a bin by the side of the pool area actively encouraged by his mother!!
The rooms were nice, spacious and clean, and the reception staff were quite helpful, I did find that I had to apologise for being British as I felt so ashamed of the fact.
The food was actually ok but the restaurant itself was more like a canteen, not what one would expect from a four star, I've stayed in better three stars, and this is by far the worst all inclusive hotel I have ever stayed in.
Needless to say I wouldn't return, and I know from talking to fellow guests that we're not alone......

| said: Me and friend arrived on the 30/11/07 to ocean palace for 1 week all inclusive, as we went to check in at reception we was greeted by very miserable receptionists who seemed to have no time for you.
Me and my friend are 18 and 19 and came away just for a quick break and to drink plenty of beers! There is only one beer on tap which is called reina, its well watered down and you need to have about 60 pints to have any affect. The first 2 days the food seemed really nice with plenty to choose from, but after a few days it seemed to be left overs from breakfast e.g. scrambled egg used in fried rice, and the quality seemed to get worse. The breakfast was very poor throught but there was some good dinner meals and evening meals.
We stayed in the appartment side it had a large bedroom, decent side bathroom, and a large balcony. We had a television which was in shocking condition it looked like it had been welded together and people have melted it. The fridge was well hammered!
The maids did a fantastic job, clean towels frequently and clean bedding.
The entertainment was great on a nightime dancing to the cartoon heroes when your absolutely steaming is a hilarious. Mr ocean palace event on a thursday night is absolutley un missable. The reps did a great job Natalie and Erin, but you have to watch out for Slippy Sean!
All in all we had a great holiday with the people we met and would return back!

| said: On arrival we felt the reception staff were very unfriendly & lacked patience. The room was lovely but we were staying in a superior suite which we pre-booked. We had a jacuzzi bath but only used twice as it smelt badly of stagnent water once turned on. Cleaners were of high standards. The Restaurant was very clean but looked like a garden centre with plastic tables and chairs. The food lacked creativity and was chips, chips and more chips every meal, the choice was limited. The beer and wine was poor, soft drinks and water was ok. Pool area was very slippy and often littered, half the loungers were broken, only saw the pool get cleaned once, alot of dirt on bottom of pool. The toilet which we had to use by the pool was absolutely disguisting, on our first day there was a door frame pulled off with nails sticking out which Lisa cut her arm on, the floor was black, no toilet roll no hand dryer & cockroaches in most days, I refused to take my daughter in there so had to trail upto reception on next floor. There were various confectionery machines located around the hotel most of which took your money with nothing in return. There was very little daytime entertainment if you did not use kids club. The only rep who showed any interest in the daytime activities was KJ (a new rep). The evening entertainment went ok as quiz and bingo, after that came the one hour kids club which was same four songs every night, same kids on stage, other kids never got a look in as if the reps Erin & Natalie had their favourites! We arranged our own trip to Aqua Park, but decided to use the hotel reps to book our trip to Loro Parque this took 5 attempts to get hold of a rep to pay for the trip! In our opinion this hotel is nowhere near being 4 star! We will not be returning to the Ocean Resort, Palace or whatever its called ever again.

| said: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ocean Palace. We thought the room was excellent and was nicely presented and clean. I liked the fact the kids bedroom was just off our room so they were close by. The sofas were nice and wide and made up a couple of nice size beds for them.
I couldn't believe the amount of food this hotel offered, particularly at lunch time whilst they continued to offer snacks all afternoon long as well. They got out all sorts of good food for lunch and it always seemed fresh and hot and the staff were frequently replacing it. The food in the evening was fresh and varied. I thought the drinks on offer were good quality too - proper branded soft drinks.
The entertainment was just right for the little uns, I'm not sure for teenages but it suited our family. There used to be a quick quiz at 8pm followed by kids disco with the reps showing the kids dances and then a game for them. A game of bingo for us, playing for good money, then the cabaret entertainment. Unfortunately we never got to see any of this as my little lad always wanted to go to bed by then but it always sounded as though it was going to be ok. That was the only problem we encountered - the noise. Our room was directly above the disco bar and we were well relieved when it shut for the night and everyone had yelled their way home - there some big mouthed people about with no consideration for people who may be asleep. So those people complaining about the bar shutting so early should bear in mind, some people with small children don't have the luxury of stopping up all night and appreciated an early closing bar. They shouldn't stay in a place like this if its night entertainment they are after, it's a family hotel.
The kids clubs in the day time were good and my kids seemed to enjoy the activities and the reps.
Yes I would agree the pool area was horrendously slippy so be careful. The hotel was a way out but it was very few euros to get to the beach etc so it wasn't worth worrying about and again, it was better to be away from all the noise that Tenerife could no doubt offer on an evening.
The staff were all very friendly and reception staff spoke such good english, it puts us english people to shame I think.
We would definitely return to this hotel and have already looked at the prices for next year!

Be very careful around resort everywhere very slippery. Bars closed 11.45 no problem but hotel staff did serve Spanish guests while refusing to serve English even if paying.
Location pretty far out and certainly not convenient for anyone with walking difficulties.

On the second day we had a problem with the light in the bathroom so I reported it to reception and it was fixed within 2 hours.
The only issue we had was with the food after 2 weeks we were fed up with it, the food is good and there are about 5 choices of a main dish plus all the salads but after 2 weeks you still get fed up with it.
Just a word of warning if you are a veggie you will have even less choice because all most all the main meals contained meat.
The fist choice staff on site work so hard and are doing an excellent job in keeping the kids and adults entertained.
We like to go to different place on each holiday but we may return to this Hotel as it was excellent

When we arrived it looked so clean and tidy i was just waiting for the let down when we arrived at our room, but when we got there it was lovely, smelt nice, clean and fresh. We were very pleased. It was my childrens and my first time abroard and im so glad that i chose this hotel. Food was excellent with plenty of choice for everyone, hotel was very clean, towels and bedding changed every other day. I thought the location was fine where it was no noise or drunks hanging around. Hotel staff were friendly and all worked very hard. The entertainment was excellent something different every night, the reps worked so hard, i dont know where alex gets her energy from she was mad, ha,ha they were all great and kept the children entertained, first choice must be so proud of them. The only thing i would say about this hotel is be careful with items in your room and have a safe, i did have a top taken from my room. Also the floor around pool is very slippery, i would advise crock's or flip flops to be worn when out of the pool, but i think most places are the same as it's a tiled floor. I really cant understand why so many people are saying so many bad things about this hotel i will definitely go there next year and for 2 weeks as we only had a week there and it wasnt long enough. As for cockroches and ants i only seen 1 cockroch and no ants for the whole week i was there!!

I agree with the other comments posted about the security gaurds, although we did sit out till after one a few nights then the security guard moved us on.

as for the food, well if you like chips your ok after that the choice is very limited.the only good side to the holiday was the entertainment team that kept the little one happy thanks (natalie) after this holiday we will not be using this tour operator again.

This is NO WAY a 4 * 'hotel' but we were informed that the star rating was for 'apartments' rather than a hotel as such ...as these had a kitchenette!!!!
Entertainemnt was good, Charlie Chaplin....although we were a bit dubious, was hilarious and the Hipnotist was rally good too.
I know there are lots of reports about the pool area being really slippy.......these are spot on, if the pool area is wet.. then BE AWARE......i slipped and had a whacking great bruise on my backside for the rest of my stay.
There was a massive problem with having to get up at the crack of dawn for a sun brolly (7.10am was my earliest but i know others that got up earlier)...to me this could have easily been resolved by the Hotel with getting in more brollies (not rocket science!!!)...this caused anomosity between the guests that was uneccessary.
I would like to finish by saying we did have a really great holiday...we met Brian and Sharon from Wales with thier 2 daughters and a great woman from Luton (sorry, didnt get yr name) with boyfriend Martin who joined her later in the week.
Everyone who has booked to go to the Ocean Resort mnext summer, you will love it!!....Just dont expect a lie in x

Day two moved to a different room and whilst drying my hair my hubby shouted to me to quickly turn off the hair dryer as there was water pouring from the light fittings in the bath room which was flooded within minutes eventually moved to superior suite in main hotel 3 days of holiday packing and moving.
This hotel is not 4 star and I am in full agreement with every complaint made on this page! Natalie and Vicky did a fabulous job not so the reps or hotel staff!
The worst hotel I've ever stayed in and am nervously perusing every future choice of holiday after this disaster !

| said: Myself and my family have travelled to tenerife many times though we had never stayed in this side of resort.Location of the hotel is very poor a million miles from nowhere. We did get the hotel room which we requested which got the holiday off to a good start. On the sat morning we went to our welcome meeting to be greeted by a rather large first choice team who looked tired and slightly over worked. The welcome meeting dragged on a bit as there was so many people talking there was the rep babs.kids club, entertainers and the swim kids and they were all wanting our money.
When it finished we did book some excursions and decided to get some lessons from the swim kid. These were paid in euros for a block which is not worth it at all but i must say big praise to the instructor Paddy very good at what he does and he seemed to enjoy his work as well (When he was around that is)
Entertainment is good dont expect to much though its all very butlins style! Nat was fantastic and she made sure you had a good time and joined in th ekids loved the mini disco.
Kidsclub reps work very hard and dont get paid enough. i have a son of 10 who went to the wavelenghth club with darren and he thought it was brill,he never usually joins in..
Last but not least you have babs the rep quality women who likes to talk and tell you her personal life.
would return to the ocean resort hotel lovely first choice staff wicked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| said: We stayed in the main hotel, in an ugraded suite. The upgraded option was meant to have a larger living area or a large whirlpool bath. I requested a low level room with a larger living area as I had a 2yr old toddler and a 7 month old just starting to crawl. The supplements for this were alot and not worth it at all. We ended up with a top floor room that had a 6ft circular recessed bath with two tiled steps from the bedroom/hallway into the living area.
We arrived on Friday 20/7, on arrival there was a pool of water on the floor in our room. We were meant to have two cots, there was only one and it was broken, there was no kettle and we had this huge round bath that we could not bath or shower 2 of the kids in. I went straight back to reception and asked to be moved but was told that the hotel was full. Babs the rep said all suites had these large whirlpool baths, brochure incorrect, and I may get a diff room but it would be a down grade with no refund, she said she would get back to me in the morning...She never did.
The cleaner came to clean up the water, she used our tea towel for drying the dishes then hung it up for us to let it dry, she didn't replace it!
The maintenance man came to fix the cot, he used a knife from our cutlery tray then returned it there while we were there!
Later on that day we discovered little bugs around the kitchen area. Again reported and the cleaner came with the cockroach spray. She wiped and sprayed the area while me and my small children were there.
This went on and on. Reception/reps even gave me my own spray so I had do to my own pest control twice daily! On the Tuesday, I asked for a room move. Babs would get back to me... she never did. The hole in the kitchen would be sealed, it never was.
Every day there was a battle for sunbeds and parasols, there just wasn't enough of them. Alot of the beds there were broken as well and had sharp edges. One day someone counted the parasols and there were only about 53, some of which were damaged. This caused some animosity among guests and also meant there was no long lies on this holiday, well not if you wanted a sunbed.
The pool area was very very slippy. Every day adults and children were falling. A couple of hospital cases for the adults when we were there. Wearing flip flops wasn't enough to stop you sliding which made this very dangerous and a nightmare for transporting small children into the pool.
There is a small playpark for the small children but the rubber flooring is faulty. It comes of ontheir clothes and footwear. The park equipment is all black, which in turn stains the kids clothes. the park equipment is aprayed each morning but this doesn't remove the black rubber marks. There were also a few rather large cockroaches around and on the playpark when we were there. Nest to the park there is a drain which smells of sewage and one day was over flowing. Due to the slippy surface, kids were slipping right into it, it was disgusting.
The hotel staff done their best but there simply wasn't enough of them. Most bars had one member of staff at a time which wasn't enough. The air conditioning in the entertainment room was broken so it was too uncomfortable to sit in there with 2 small children. We were told this was fixed the day before we left.
The food was okay, not a large selection and not much choice for kids but what was there was cooked and tasted okay. Drinks were brought by waiter service in the restaraunt which was okay as long as you didn't mind a wait for them to arrive.
The first choice entertainment and kids reps worked hard and done a good job. The holiday reps to ensure your stay went okay, well Babs was nice, talked alot and didn't do much listening. Robyn, the new girl, was rude unprofessional and really didn't have a clue.
Overall, this is going down as the worst holiday we have had in 15 years. This hotel is no where near what we expected from a four star. It's advertised as a family hotel but all three of my children came home covered in bruises due to the pool area and the tiles steps in the room. A plastic playpark and some first choice kids reps does not make a child friendly hotel. We thought that it would be a safe bet choosing a supposedly four star hotel in Tenerife with an esatblished company like First Choice - We were very wrong!

| said: A nice and comfortable hotel (we stayed in the main block, in a suite) and the rooms were really nice, the only problem we had was the bath-it was cracked so when we had a a shower I should imagine so did the room below, we was in room 229 so if you was underneath - sorry!
It was cleaned daily and no probs there, the only mess was from the other holiday makers not bothering to use the bins.
Our biggest gripe is that there is not enough sunbeds to go around! To make sure that you got a bed you had to go down to the pool area about 8.00-8.30 every morning to grab a bed as they are being unchained (see the previous review) and book it by putting your towel on it. It was not nice and not very relaxing although as we all gathered to do this we had a good laugh about it with other comrades.
The food was ok although it did not vary much, there was something for everybody. The drinks for the all-inclusive guests was minimal, we always go all-inclusive and it had the least choice and it did not offer any cocktails at all, only if you paid 6Euros and I missed the Tia Maria equivalent. Although most of the bar staff was fantastic especially in the Irish Bar (where we spent most of our time in the evenings) and in the disco bar.
It was not in the greatest of locations being uphill from the beach but it was bearable but not if you have mobility problems.
Like the bar staff most of the hotel staff are fantastic as are the reception staff. The entertainment team are brilliant especially Natalie and Vicky - cheers girls!
The only reason we would not visit this hotel again is because we like to go somewhere different.

| said: Back from 10days in the sun sun sun we had a lovely time. Just had another quick read over the reviews for this hotel and well here is mine....
We did not have the best of flight times when we arrived. When we finally arrived it was coming up to midnight and everyone had there luggage and who was still left waiting for the buggy??... us. My husband went off to try and find it and no one was wanting to help. When he found the first choice rep she just told him to go look in another place. The coach then was waiting for us and felt awkward. Didnt feel that the rep was really wanting to help us if she had then we would of been a lot quicker.
We were the second drop from the airport and it was really nice to walk in and get a great first impression on the hotel where we was going to be staying... or so U thought. It was half past midnight and when we checked in we asked if there was any water in our room and was told no but we can get some out of a vending machine.(thankfully working that night, noticed out of order when we left). Because of the size of my family we was not staying in the main 4 star hotel we was in the other half called Nogal Beach. It was a ground floor apartment with the same fac's as the rooms in the main hotel but not as nice. My son was supplied a cot that i later found out would of easily fit in one of the main rooms of the ocean palace. Nogal beach is NOT a 4 star rating more 3 and pushing it to that. We was in room N111 and no aircon, the next day (wed)at our meeting we told a rep and reported it to the reception. We stressed that in 30degrees heat we must have something for my son who was 16 months old. We was told that someone would fix it as soon as possible. Thurs came and we was told that an engineer was coming at 5pm so we hung around our room to wait. We had a call from reception at 4pm and was told that it can't be fixed and they have a fan for us to collect. At this point my husband approached 'Babs' the main rep at the hotel and explained that we had no air con and 1 fan between us all to use at night and was not good enough within 10 mins we was moved next door but one. N114 air con working and felt amazing. Phew!!! We later found out from our neighbour that we was not the first family to of been moved from this room for the same reasons and we was not going to be the last, 2 days after our move another poor family moved in. They too ended up moving afer they was offered a fan. The hotel knew it was a problem yet I felt that it was not being delt with and I guessed they was hopping for someone who would just put up with it.
So far it does not sound too good but it was trust me.... after the first few days we settled in. The hotel was clean, the cleaners worked hard and was up early every morning cleaning the floors around the pools and all very friendly. Our room was always cleaned but beacause the room itself was getting old so could only do so much.
Please please dont let the kids run around the pool areas i see a couple of kiddies go over with a bit of a bump. I even slipped a few times... and no i was not drunk :) The pool is not for those wanting to dive but lets think about it I would rather it be like that insead of the worry of one of my children falling in. there was the main pool and the baby pool in main ocean palace and 2 smaller pools in nogal beach. both had pool bars and lovely bar staff.
I was all inc. there was cooked breakfast every morning, fresh cooked pancakes, fruit, cerals, cakes and pastries.
Snacks availble from bar pool bar areas from 11 ish. the usall chips, icreams, burgers, hotdogs, pizza cheese or ham toasties. For lunch there was always a different selection of fresh salad, fruit, cakes, soup and a small selection of things to choose from like chicken, hot pasta and fish etc.
Dinner. there was always a different selection of foods to choose from. again there was always fresh salad, fruits, bread, soup to go with what you had. always cakes mouses and about 8 diff icecreams to choose from for dessert. kids liked getting there own icecreams. I did not find I was eating the same at all, but I do like salads and veg so it was my husband and kids that found it a little difficult some nights. Waiters and waitressess worked really hard and was always very friendly and liked to make a fuss over the kids.
Because all inc we got to eat in the carvery resturant and the italian resturant for one night. We did not get to eat in the italian beacause fully booked but managed to eat in the carvy. the carvy is base next door to the hotel, the hotel shop was in the middle. Lovely roast dinner enjoyed it. a family we become friends with did eat in the italian and said it was also really lovely. so dont forget to go. Overall the food was good. Always plenty to choose from.... for me anyway, and if you are all inc and you dont like what you have choosen then you can go get something else to try.
The staff at the hotel was really lovely and the reps where brilliant with the kids. My kids did not go in the kids clubs out of choice as much as I would have liked them too. They worked so hard. Yes its the same songs each night but it was me singing them in the car when we got home. The kids a fab time. each night there was diffent entertainment. Parrot shows, snake shows, bingo, deal or no deal, rock and roll shows. its was brill. just a quick hello to Natalie and Vicky you was fantasic and kids loved ya. Kids made friends with some lovely children.
Went to the water park. tickets priced the same when booked with reps as on the door. did feel was expensive. 80 euros to get in 2 adults 2 kids. 6 euros for a locker (get 2 euros deposit back) 8 euros if you want a rubber ring each. dolphin shows was not on untill the afternoon so we sadley missed it. kids was getting tired and was getting board standing with dad whilst I went on the slides. Kids wanted some chocolate so got 4 bars and it come to 10 euros. coke was 6 euros and 3 for a refill. have to pay for sunbed too 4 euros. if you go then take lunch with you. you still must go i had fun. only 10 mins from hotel. a new waterpark is opening this year and it is going to be massive see the building work on way back to airport and will be open in a couple of months and sounds fantasic. would love to vist it.
Beach not far away and very clean. 10 mins walk down the hill. shops 5 mins away. market on thurs and sat and gets really busy but i loved it and had fun haggling with the market people they love it too. They would even give you a good price and better still an asdas price:) just watch out for the guys with the scratch cards just say no and keep walking.
The resort was clean, hotel on a bit of a hill. was pram friendly.
It is a family based hotel so if you are looking for a quite time or not a lover of kids running around and making some noise then dont go this this hotel. I didnt fell that i had to ask the kids to be quite for anyone and they could have fun.
Sunbeds Oh My Word!!!! come on guys do you really want to get up that early on your hols for a sunbed? first week was fine you could even get a sunbed at 11am come second week it was madness. some mornings they was gone by 7am. just before we left the last few nights all sunbeds were being stacked and chained to together so people could not claim so early. it meant going down at 8.30am with everyone else and waiting for them to be unchained. it got silly. we even see a couple carrying 2 back to there rooms... What are you like??
Had great time hotel was lovely, nogal not so. Clean tidy. food was good i ate loads. pleanty to drink. also nice to see water despensers. it fresh safe cold water based in the restuant and around the pool bars. cleaners worked hard as did the bar staff. reps helped you when you needed them. Overall we had a lovely time and it was sad to come home. was very hot indead and we all got a tan.
Hotel great for familys with kids. when you book just check you are not paying for nogal beach side would be such a shame. go and have fun.

| said: In my opinion we were ripped off. When we booked the holiday we were told it was a 4 star but they would class it as a 5 star. No way! We stayed in the annexe nogal, which we found out it is a 3 star. The main building is lovely and had so many facilities. Everything went on in the 4 star part. We were like second class citizens. Even the entertainment in the day was in the main building, the kids in nogal were forgotten. No way did I class it as all inclusive. I have stayed in other all inclusive and there are snacks and drinks available from 9am - 12pm. Here in nogal the snack bar did not open until 12 noon and shut at 6pm. Sometimes you were refused snacks at 5.30pm. In the main building 11am - 6pm. In the main building my son was limited to two slices of pizza, he was refused when he went back for more. You were even charged for crisps in the evening. No snacks available at night. I thought I would not need much money as it was all Inc. The kids club is free but many of the events you had to pay for. Kids loved it though. You had to pay for pool, air hockey ect but half the time the games were not working, nobody was interested in giving the kids refunds. The first week we had no problems with sun loungers and brollys, you could go out at 9am but second week they were all being reserved at 6am. There are not enough brollys for the amount of loungers.entertainment was good the first week but repeated the second week. We had many cock roaches as did others. Some days the room was cleaned better than others. Air conditioning was broken they were not interested in getting it repaired, they gave us a fan but it was useless. We were not the only ones. There were hidden facilities that nobody informed you of which would have made the holiday better. There was a roof top Jacuzzi with 15 loungers showers and a fridge. You could be there from 10am - 5pm if you wanted. I found out from someone two days before leaving. We were also told we were not far from las Americas and that it was not hilly. My mum struggled.

| said: Me and my friend booked an alli nclusive holiday to the Ocean Resort via the internet.
I had stayed at the hotel on a number of occassions before it went all inclusive. When I booked I assumed we would be in the former ocean palace as nowhere did it say that the hotel group had aquired the annex next door.
On arrival the restauraunt was about to close but they kept it open another ten mins so we could get something to eat but all that was left was cold or like rubber from been kept warm.
We were given a key to room 217 in the nNgal apartments they looked like a concentration camp dismal and run down. It took ten minutes to get the door open as the key didnt turn the lock. The apartment was very dark and dingy one of the wardrobe doors was missing and the toilet was all stained needed a dam good clean. We only had one flat pillow on each bed and my friend is disabled and needs to be elevated to sleep, so I went back to reception to ask for 2 more pillows only to be told we couldnt have any because they didnt have any spare, so we ended up having to roll a blanket up to put under the pillow.
The night staff seemed to have a couldnt care less attitude. the food was absolute rubbish compared with previous visits to this hotel it was repettative and done on the cheap the only thing edibble was salad and after the 3rd day chips were getting a bit much.
We found it hard to get snacks during the day as the snack bar didnt open till 12 and closed at 6.
The only thing to drink with any taste was orange. The bar areas seemed to use watered down drinks because they deffinatly didnt taste of alcohol I had to get a malibu and lemonade and a malibu to make it even resemble a drink the larger was flat no fiz at all, we had kids playing football all day under the balcony and louts shouting ta each other late at night across the pool area/
All i can say is I am glad i only booked one week as Iwould have been going home early had I booked two this is by far the worst holiday experience I have ever had in Tenerife.
I will definitely not be staying at this place ever again.

| said: Me and my fiance arrived at Ocean Palace Hotel on Friday 6th April for a week.We got there at 3pm and were greeted by two lovely receptionists.
Our hotel room was 001 which was first room on the first floor which was really handy. We both thought the rooms were really lovely. Very spacious and our room looked over the pool area which was great.
The staff there were lovely. As my fiance speaks very good spanish they all took a shine to us (even though i didnt understand half the things they were saying). We didnt speak much to the entertainment staff as they were always busy with the children so i cant comment much on them but they did seem lovely people. The bar, restaurant and reception staff were really pleasant and made our holiday very enjoyable. Even the security guard on a night was a lovely man.
The pool wasnt too deep which was good for the kids but my fiance was very upset as he loves diving and swimming so wanted pool to be deeper. Around the pool is very slippy so be careful if your running etc.
The hotel was kept very clean though. There was a few piguins flying about now and again so watch out for them.
I did have one little complain which was about the food. All i ate was chips and cucumber. On the Wednesday after we arrived there was a chinese night and all i ate was cucumber. However my fiance is definetly not fussy with his foods and he found some things he liked. There is a cavery and italian restaurant in the hotel which i definetly recommend those to you all.
We booked to go to 'Aqualand' the day before we came home and was a very expensive day out. We paid 47 euros for us both to go which wasnt too bad. When we got there we had to pay 6 euros for lockers, 3.50 euros per bed and the man behind the counter told us we had to buy a double ring or else couldnt get on most slides (that cost 11 euros). We went to the cafe and bought 2 hotdogs, 2 carton of chips and 2 drinks and that came to 21 euros. Overall we spent 88.50 euros on half a day.
We did walk from Costa Adeje to Los Cristianos which was lovely. The views were something special.
Overall we both had a fantastic holiday and would recommend this hotel to anyone (especially people with children as there is lots for them to do). Its definetly worth a 4 star. I would go back tomorrow if i could. We are thinking about going back soon.

We stayed all inclusive and the food was excellent with a good daily choice.
The hotel staff were very approachable and our only complaint (hairdryer not working) was dealt with immediately. The water pressure was still giving problems even in our first floor room.
The hotel location is a little bit of a let down but we managed to walk to the harbour at Los Christianos albeit with a few stops, the taxi back cost under 10 Euro's.
The waiting staff and bar staff were excellent, always with a smile on their faces and always very polite.
Nathan, Kelly and the kids club reps need a special mention. They worked incredibly hard and made our stay very enjoyable. The night time entertainment was varied over the fortnight period and well received by all.
We would recommend this hotel and would definitely return.

| said: Have just returned from one week at Ocean Resort and had to write to say that it exceeded all expectations.
The hotel itself although quite old is in very good repair and always immaculately clean.
We stayed in a suite on the third floor which was spacious, comfortable and well presented. Although I have to agree with some comments about lack of water pressure for bath or shower, this was only at busy times such as 5-7 pm and was always rectified - it may have taken half an hour to run a bath but at least the water was always hot unlike some places!
Restaurant was a bit like a canteen but there was always lots of choice for both adults and kids, the place was clean and food piping hot.
Kids club and entertainment excellent - thanks to Nathan for non stop enthusiasm and hard work -he should be running the entertainment team!! Nothing to do with fact that my daughter had a crush on him!!
We always stay all inclusive and this certainly did not disappoint - already looking to return next year!!
Believe me we are fussy with holidays so ignore negative comments and if you have young children go and enjoy!!

This was the first time we have stayed All Inclusive so have nothing to compare it to however food excellent. Breakfast served until 11oclock, fresh food at all times and plenty of choice.
We walked to the beach with the children who did not find it too far, stopping for a drink on the way back.
All hotel staff were excellent extremely helpfull and friendly. The maid was excellent when our daughter was taken ill.
The entertainment was brilliant especially Nathan who gave 100% every day. The children enjoyed all of the entertainment each evening and the kids club although due to the time of year it was fairly quiet. All the entertainment team were excellent.

The only gripe I had about the room was the poor water pressure which I heard is a problem on the higher floors.
The restaurent wasn't as nicely furnished or decorated as our room but it was okay. The selection and quality of food was good but perhaps could have been set out better. We ate at the Italian and Carvery restaurents in the hotel which were very nice, and made a pleasent change.
The lager was cold but not very strong! The sangria was nice but very strong - beware rocket fuel!
The kids loved being all inclusive and enjoyed the free drinks and ice creams.
The kids club was fantastic (the kids told me to write that) and they held various parties - Bugs Bunny, chocolate party etc. Several activities were chargeable though which we thought was a bit of a swizz.
The entertainment team were great and worked really hard. They were really friendly and took time out to speak to everyone. Top marks to Nathan, Smelly Kelly and the rest of the gang.
If you go watch out for Johnny Circus (Charlie Chaplin type fella) who's act is not to be missed.
We'd definitely return.
Excellent!

The all inclusive was not very good in the respect that once we had breakfast, ther was nowhere to get a drink, not even water until 11am. The brochure said from 10 am but there was now where open untill 11am.
The food was very limited choice wise, in fact some days there was only a choice of 3 sweets and 3 or 4 main meals. Breakfast was excellent.
We kept having problems with the hot water, sometimes you would turn on the tap but nothing came out. Another guest on the same floor as us had no hot water all week.
You could not get cocktails at all in the daytime, not even if you paid for them and in the evening you had to pay for cocktails in one place but not the other.
Entertainment was very repetitive and did not even start properly toll about 10.30pm, it finished at 12 midnight and everywhere closed up so you had no option but to go back to your room.
The cost of the safe was a bit pricey, you had to pay 25 euros and you got 5 euros back when you handed the key back in. The tv was also expensive as it cost 3 euros a day and although it says on the list you get BBC1, you don't and you only get about 5 english channels and they are all rubbish.
We went with my mum and dad and was expecting this hotel to be as good as the other First Choice hotels we had been to before but unfortunatly it was only just a 3 star in my opinion and we would NEVER consider going back to this hotel.

the staf were very unhelpful.
The food was the same old thing on most days. We could not get a drink until 11 am and could not get cocktails until 6.30 pm.
We have been to many First Choice hotels as well as other hotels and the vast majority have been very good but Ocean Palace is the worst we have ever been to in 15 years of holidays abroard.
If you are booked to go there, good luck, we will certainly never return.

| said: All inclusive was typical food quality and quantity, some stuff good, some poor, so a mixture.
Not always red hot though, but if you went up straight away after a tray of food coming out then you were fine. Breakfast was ok, 8:30am - 11am. We had to miss it one day as we went on a trip with first choice. Coach should have turned up at 8, but didn't show till nearly half past. Weren't given anything in replace through. Typical streeky spanish bacon and not fully cooked eggs. And the conveyabelt style toaster, you had to put it on at least 3 times and it still looked like bread. But at this typical I think.
Lunch was outside next to the pool, 1pm - 3pm. Good as you can just sit there just come out of the pool. Few birds on some of the food which hadn't been cleared away once finished with, but not problem really. Again go straight up after something coming out to get it hot. Plenty of food.
There's a member of staff serving burgers, chips and pizza from 11am to 6pm every day, but sometimes a long (20mins) wait to get anything. Not the best quality here through, but edible still.
Dinner was back inside 6:30pm - 9:30pm. Again lots of chips. As usual all cream, tasteless deserts, but again I think you get that anywhere. There is a menu outside the restaurant (well more like careen) telling you what is on that night's menu. Good idea as if you don't like the look of it you can go and book the italian or the carvey that night.
All inclusive guests get one visit to the italian or the carvey per week that they stay. The italian is just next to the reception. Very nice, open 6pm - 9pm each night. If your not all inclusive the its 18 euro's for 3 courses and this includes medium quality wine, beer or a soft drinks.
Next to the hotel there's an expensive little shop. I think I remember that its run by a Britiah lady who moved out to tenerife a while ago. There's supermarkets nearby through about half way down towards the beach, much cheaper and bigger. bingo place next to the hotel too, but not open when we were there in january 07. not too bothered thou as there is a game with a pretty good pay out in the entertainment each night anyway. not a bug fan or anything, but i think a few of us will have a game on our hols.
The carvey, open 6pm to 10pm, is just the other side of the shop and bingo hall. Not as good as the best British carvey I've been in, leather style yorkshire puds, but a choice of 3 nice meats. Again very nice and if your not all inclusive its 18 euro's for 3 courses and this includes medium quality wine, beer or a soft drinks.
The wine in the normal restaurant is not as good as the carvey or italian reataurant wine.
Definalty book these meals if your all inclusive. A nice change to the canteen. But its best if you look at the menu and decide on the italian or carvey on nights when its not as good.
Hotel location. Its definatly not in playa de las americas. It's towards the edge of the back of the costa adeje resort. A 20 minute walk from the beach up hill. But its got shops and stuff, and your on hols so no need to rush. A new shopping centre was being built across the road when we were there. Well we never actually saw or heard any work going on - thats the Spainish for you!! only a few euro's to beach anyway.
can get bus at top of road in the playa de las americas and los cristinaos direction anyway.
hotel staff fine.
the entertainment all run by first choice. singers, comendians, parrot shows, magicans, very good. bar in the entertainment open 7:30 to midnight. only 2 drinks a time, but this is per person and you can make as many trips as you want.
irish bar and pool bar. self service ice creams next to the pool. not always completly in a solid state through, but good variety.
we are going again this january. found it for 2 adults and a 2 year old for just over £1000 in total for 2 weeks.
wanted a hire car last time we went, but too expersive from first choice on arrival, so didn't bothered. looked into getting one with first choice this time when we booked our hols, we charging 7 days for the price of 5 for a ecomony car. as we are under 25 years old it was going to be £205 for 7 days for the price of 5. Found it on net for 117 euro's for 5 days, aprox £87.
The trips we went on with first choice were good in general, but a few problems. went to loro park. took 1.5 to 2 hours to get there when the coach eventually arrived. we had to rush around the park constantly clock watching as the coach was leaving at 3pm!!!!! i thought we wouldn't leave park til 6pm, its a d a y trip after all. dolphin watching vey good, will probably go again, but not booking with first choice. much cheaper just to go down to the boats and pay then pay for a 20 minutes coach journey with first choice from your hotel and the same trip.
was bit disappointment with water park near hotel, can't remember exactly the name. probably won;t go back here. salt water in all pools. pools very cold and you have to pay separatly for locker, ring to go down some of the slides, sun beds and very expersive to eat there. we did try complaining, but if you've ever tried it in spain then you'll know what i'm talking about, useless. just tol manager in meeting and would have to wait a long time. yer right!!!
picnics at the hotel are only worth picking up for the bottle of water, take my advice don't even look at them and bin the rest.

The food was OK but not brilliant there was not a lot of choice but the new years eve meal was excellent.
This hotel is quite out of the way but if you don't mind walking down to the beach you can get a taxi back for about 5 euros.
All the hotel and bar staff were very friendly and sorted odd jobs we needed doing immediately ( new door lock, light bulbs etc ) the reps entertainment was good but the outside entertainment came on too late (midnight), we would visit this hotel again.

Cleaning staff were very good in our room and all over the hotel. Food was good and varied and always a smile on waiting staffs faces.
Location never bothered us as we were always glad of a walk to roam around. 10mins to beach, 5 to shops and 20 into main resort.
Entertainment was to our liking especially our kids, and that means you Katie, Nat, Stu, Chris nd Nathan .Also the Kids Club team fantastic as well.
We would visit this hotel again if it wasn"t the fact that we always try someplace different each year

| said: Just back from fab 2 week stay at Ocean Resort.
Had stayed there 3 years previous on S.C when it was known as Ocean Palace and had not joined with Nogal Beach. This time A.I., and paid for Suite as was not sure of annexe acc.
Met a lot of people there who have stayed at the hotel previously. Have no complaints about this hotel except it is still very slippy around the pool area so take care! (you can use floats in pool,
Food was good, with plenty of choice. Breakfast 8.30am - 11am, pool bar opened at 11am and served hotdogs, sandwiches, ice cream etc. until 6pm, lunch 1pm-3pm at pool bar, dinner 18.30 - 21.30 in principle restuarant, there are 2 other resturants, Bistro and Italian you are allowed to book for 1 night of each for each week you stay though we did not go instead had a couple of meals outwith the hotel.
Irish bar (kids allowed in now as non smoking, you have to smoke outside) open 6pm last orders 23.45 sharp, entertainment open 7.30pm last orders 23.45 sharp. Entertainment consisted of family quiz, kids disco, bingo, then snake show or parrot show etc then main show started 22.30.
Reps show is on a Thursday night, Nathan,(mad but great fun), Katie, Nat & Stu they are very good but must be exhausted they are the entertainment team all day and night they start at 11am til about 4pm with activities around the pool like, killer darts, air hockey, football (beware of the rep Chris my husband on crutches 2nd week due to a football tackle with Chris, nice bloke though!). Water polo, water volleyball etc water games played from about 3pm so if you like peace and quiet move to the annexe pool at this time.
Never spent anytime at the annexe accommodation. Except to use the laundry very clean and quiet looking. The rooms are seemingly very spacious there compared with the main block where we stayed.
The hotel is about a 15min walk to the beach and is in a very quiet area though we loved that and it is very very clean. Only 5mins taxi ride to water park and 15mins to airport.
If you are planning on getting a taxi to airport make sure you pre book well in advance impossible to get one on a Friday without doing this.
Best day to go to water park is a Friday as it is very quiet as most flights go home on Fridays.
Hotel staff were excellent great with kids, our 11month old was a bit frightened of big chef but she warmed to her by end of hols. Towels went out to reserve sunbeds about 9am our 1st week then 2nd week had to be out by 8.15am, there are a lot more parasols now. All guests English speaking, (Scottish, Irish, Welsh and English).
This is the first time we have gone all inclusive, and loved it, great for kids as they can go and get drinks, food, ice cream themselves without parents.
There was a kitchen area in our suite consisting of microwave, toaster, kettle, hob and utensils which was great. Also a TV with limited channels you could pay for more but we did not bother only used our room to sleep. There is also a safe in the room, but we did not bother with that either you have to pay extra for that too. You can keep the air con on in your room by putting a bit of card or similar in the slot.
There are 3 PC's near to reception cost 1 euro for 10mins on internet. Small shop next door to hotel with british foods, though expensive compared with large supermarket only 5mins walk down road.
Did not want to come home yesterday, just have to look forward to visiting again soon!

Hotel very clean no cockaroaches at all.
food nice something edible every night had many fussy eaters in our group but never had many complaints.
The hotel is located out of town about 5 euros in taxi to bars and shops, there is a large mountain behind the hotel which tends to attract all the clouds so it is very cloudy until late afternoon so really had to go to beach most days if you want a tan.
Beach about 20mins walk or 4 euros in taxi.
Entertainment staff were great especially Nathan who is absolutely hilarious could of watched and listened to him every night, the reps were always on hand and very helpful, played bingo every night then there was a show, disco bar was very noisy, Irish bar was next door much quieter but nothing going on there.
Weather was lovely for the end of September!
I have been on about 9 all inclusive holidays this was a good one wouldn't return here only because I like to go somewhere different, I think the entertainment could of been a bit better eg. more outside acts brought in.
Overall a good holiday enjoy!

The food was o.k. but very British even down to the H.P. sauce, with chips at every evening meal. The picnics were excellent. The snacks were very repetitive with toasted sandwiches, hot dogs ,chips ,burgers and pizza.
The staff were mostly very friendly except for one female who never smiled.
Hotel is a bit out of town and I could hear the motorway if I had the window open ,which it needed to be as the air conditioning was very poor.
This hotel is mainly for families not for the over 50's.
The Disco Bar was too noisy and the "Irish" Bar very uncomfortable, supposed to be no children but every night there was at least six or seven., plus all the sixteen year olds drinking pints and vodkas.

The hotel staff were very friendly and pleasant.
The food was superb, cooked breakfast every morning with cereal, fresh fruit, something for everyone.
The evening meals again where excellent with plenty to choice from.
Entertainment was just that, entertaing, the reps did there best and succeed in making it fun for all ages although only young themselves, hats off to them.
A truly wonderfully holiday would definitely go back as the whole experience from start to finish was a pleasure.
