In my opinion this hotel does not deserve many of the bad reviews it has received. The official star rating is three and not four. Take into account how cheap the hotel is, we only paid £187 for 8 nights for 2 people (medhotels). The extensive steps are mentioned on any web site you care to look at so should not come as a surprise. The food is not the best I have eaten, however it is by no means the worst. The salads are delicious and imaginative despite being pretty much the same every day. I did not experience any undercooked chicken nor, in my opinion, was food brought out two days running. The puddings were OK but very much the same every day. I agree the front desk staff are somewhat surly, however problems were dealt with promptly.
The beds are quite hard and the bed covers are very strange but made of cotton and not horrible. Rooms are small but adequate for 2 people. Masses of hot water and high-pressure shower. Large wardrobe with plenty of hangers and extra storage for cases etc. rooms were cleaned daily to a very high standard. Towels every day bed sheets, hard to tell as the bed was so well made, looked like every day. I strongly advise anyone staying here to make sure they are in the main building, the rooms up past reception, and not the horrible rooms down the road. The hotel was full when we stayed. The stunning views make up for quite a lot. Incidentally the worst perpetrators of sun bed bagging were the British. The pool is heavily chlorinated but so are many such pools abroad. Wet surfaces can be slippery so care is needed. No horrible music all day long – brilliant.

| said: The hotel Halici is the worse hotel I have ever stayed in if you are booked into this hotel try to get a move, its at the top of a very steep hill and when you get to the hotel you have to climb 20 uneven steps then you have to climb more steps to get to your room which is very small.
It just about fits 2 single beds in with 1 wardrobe in and a very dark shower room, the room was cleaned about once a week and sheets changed once a week but if you was lucky you got clean towels each day.
The food is very poor and was the same at each meal time and very little to choose from, so most nights you had to pay to go out for a meal, this was a all inclusive hotel but you had to pay for your water, cocktail and if you wanted toast yes you had to pay, there was no free ice creams for the children yes you had to pay for them, there was a few nice hotel staff but not that helpful.
Being an all inclusive you would of thought there would of been some entertainment but there was none, I would never go back to this hotel even if I was payed to go back.

| said: We came back after 10 nights of our 2 week holiday because we weren't enjoying ourselves!
Firstly the hotel:
*It was definately not a 4* more 2* standard especially the food!
*We were all inclusive but on our first night we were told by the barman that we weren't allowed free drinks until 4:30pm even though we were supposed to be allowed them all day!
*A lot of people found the hill up to Halici and the steps to the rooms very difficult! We didn't find them too bad and we felt it was worth it for the spectacular views however we went in sept when it is not too hot so that probably made it easier!
*The food in the hotel was very poor, lots of other other people in Halici thought so too! Some nights the food was ok eg chicken kebab, rice and chips but a lot of nights its chicken or pork which tasted awful!
There was not much available for vegetarians, lots of salads but no hot food for vegetarians except rice and chips! We expected to see stuff like burgers, pizzas, quiches etc but there were none! Also food was only available at set times, at other times we had to pay for food even though we were all inclusive!
*Rooms were ok, they were cleaned every day and clean towels brought. The downside was that the beds were really really hard and the bed cover was really small, thin and horrible material, the pillows were also hard!
*The shower was good and very powerfula and there was hot water most of the time! The bathroom did smell pretty bad because of the poor sewage system in Turkey!
*Pool was ok, quite busy but we always managed to find a sunbed! The pool bar had a beautiful view across the sea as did the restaurant and some of the rooms.
