| said: A friend recomended to visit Kalymnos Island, choosing the Myrsina Hotel was suprisingly good.
The rooms are average size and clean, the shower and toilet a little small and most balconys have lovely views of Telendos Island.. It's location is great, away from all the loud touristy clubs but close enough to all amennities.. Continnental breakfast was fresh and the coffee was ok.. I'm not much of a swimming pool person, but for this hotel i found it clean and the poolbar stacked with munchies, toasted sandwiches, with a wide range of beverages..(and it's open til'the early hrs)
The Hotel is family owned and opperated and even thou they can do with extra help, they did the best they could for me and from what i saw, they went out of their way for every guest... The owners George and Katie are friendly and down to earth folks and always want to please, we've become good friends and personally, i wish all Hotel owners were as friendly as them.. As for the Hotel, well for 25.00 euros per night it was the best i had.. Although i wouldn't recommend it for the elderly or unfit as it has lots of steps..

| said: The Myrsina Hotel is a very basic hotel run by a fairly friendly family and for the price we paid, it did live up to our expectations.
The room was of reasonable size with a nice view from our balcony. However the bathroom was tiny and the shower did not have so much as a curtain around it never mind a base to separate it from the toilet which I found quite unpleasant. Also, our shower became dysfunctional within a couple of days of arriving and although we reported this and the owner had a look at it, nothing was actually done about it. The best shower I had whilst staying at the hotel was on our last day, using the communal shower in the basement!
In terms of food, a large roll was provided each day and that was it - we didn't expect much else at all but it seemed really minimal. The funny thing was we overheard others ordering extras such as a boiled egg; after a few days of doing this someone put prices for these extras up on a board in the dining room - we wouldn't have minded if we had known initially but it seemed a bit poor to only inform us afterwards!
Also, the hotel pool could certainly have been cleaner and after spending one morning there we decided not to repeat the experience. This was quite disappointing considering I largely based my accommodation choice on a hotel which included a pool.
We attended the Friday night BBQ which was very good food wise, but not great socially. Overall the hotel was okay but I am confident that we could find a better one next time.
