| said: I've just returned from a holiday with my daughter & two grandchildren aged 5 & 7 at the Los Angeles Hotel in Salou booked through Thomas Cook
The food wasn't as bad a described but very bland, chips every night & hardly any local dishes.
I asked for a quiet room which was still opposite three bars & a nightclub, the noise was deafening we didn't get to sleep until between 4 & 6 each morning
The beds were made each day, you had to ask each time you wanted clean towels but the rooms were not cleaned & by the end of our stay we had cobwebs hanging from the ceiling & an inch of dust on our dressing table.
They had a kids disco each night from 9 till 9.25 which the children enjoyed & then very third rate acts to entertain us every other night for about 30 to 45 minutes in between times you had to put up with CD's of Glen Miller & Bill Haley
To top things off on the last Friday of our holiday one of the other guest noticed a couple who none of us had seen before & that were not guest at the hotel acting very suspiciously.
On further inspection someone noticed they were taking photographs of the children from under the table.
When approach the woman ran away but the man was restrained by guests.
He explained he was taking photos of little blonde girls as they reminded him of his grand daughter, the police were called & they asked the woman to return with the camera.
Two hours later she returned with no photos of children on her camera saying we were all stupid idoits
We all asked the following questions,
Why run in the first place?
Why take two hours to return?
Why did her partner admit to photographing children?
The police said they had no evidence so they couldn't act, she walked away laughing & blowing kisses to the worried parents
In short if you only need a couple of hours sleep each night, would like to each chips every day of two weeks & don't mind having your children photographed by total strangers then the Los Angeles in the one for you

| said: The rooms are fine. The maids keep them clean when you let then in.
Hotel is clean. The food is uncooked. beware of the burgers theyre raw watch the kids.
Entertainment is very poor. The bar staff are brilliant. Most of the receptionists are ok but there is one that her people skills lack. also she said its the banks job to change travellers cheques. Best bet take your bank card and watch out for pick pockets there are a lot of them.
Also visit Rovers Return, and the parrot club they are nice family pubs.
Also the beach is lovely. The best water park is in La Pineda. The bus stop is located at the beach it only takes 10 mins. The park costs for a family of 3 £55 euros.1 adult 2 kids

| said: The hotel itself was ok the usual hotel room nothing special. But the food was absolutely disgusting. On offer on one occasion was "Tripe Stew". The food was always cold and not a very good selection. I don't go on holiday and expect to eat English food, but I do expect a reasonable quality, but this was very poor. Spent a fortune eating out.
As a family we thought the location of the hotel was terrible. We weren't prepared for how noisy it would be. The noise until about 6.30 a.m. was unbelievable. cars parking up in the street with loud music, horns honking all the time, large gangs shouting and singing it was horrendous. OK if your young but not for a family with young children.
The one good thing about the hotel was the staff. They were all very helpful and friendly. The rooms were cleaned daily and fresh towels left.
I wouldn't stay at this hotel again because of the location and the food.

| said: We stayed half board with alpha rooms for 6 days.
Hotel clean, rooms basic but very clean.
Food was fine sometimes a little cold, but they were looking into that by the time we left.
Location was about 5 minutes from the centre of Salou. There were 3 bars opposite the hotel, which were sometimes noisy of a night, but you don't go on holiday to go to bed early.
The staff were very friendly, also eager to help.
As for the entertainment, we went out every night, so I can't really comment on that. We had a good holiday, we are going back in July 2007 with some family and friends
