| said: Libaran Island lodge is situated of the east coast of borneo, a tiny island inhabited by around 100 villagers - featuring around 20 lodges.
The lodges are set back from the beach, relatively well appointed with an air con unit, shower etc. Complimentary bottled drinking water.
The beach is lovely, very paradise like with a few loungers spaced out. when we were there we were literally the only couple staying overnight so we had the enture island to ourselves (obviosuly apart from the villagers).
The villagers/workers are very friendly, on one night they even caught a fresh lobster for us and cooked it in a local style - £8 - bargain!
There are little transparent crabs that occupy the beach but they are harmless and unless they move you can't really see them.
There is a problem on the island with litter, the hygiene of the local villagers is stilol under education.
Food was buffet style, basic (rice, cabbage etc). Not the best but was adequate.
Small number of drinks could be purchased (Stella! Wine etc) from the restaurant.
There really are no activities on the island, it's just a getaway pretty much away from it all.
