| said: Once through all the usual at Male airport then you have to travel by bus to the other side of the airport to catch the seaplane which will take you on the the island. This was not as bad as thought it would be. Although the plane is small and carries 10to12 people the 45minute journey was quite pleasant but noisy, on landing on a floating platform at sea a boat comes to take you to the island during the short journey of about 10mins we saw dolphins swimming.
Once on the island we were meet with cooling towels which were welcome and taken to the bar area for check-in where there was a welcome cocktail in a coconut awaiting us and afternoon tea was being served. this is where you learn to go on island time (slow and easy)
Our bungalow, as were must of, them were set on the beach.
10 steps off the deck and you were in the sea this was fantastic never seen anything like white sand clear blue sea to snorkel in. As the reef is not far off shore and it is fantastic if you are a little daring you can go a little further out and see the edge of the reef where the coral and fish are spectacular - my husband did this not me
Bungalow was cleaned by your own little man twice a day he would come and turn the bed down on an evening too. The open air bathroom took some getting used to although it was private, if you were over six foot you could see into them.
Food was very good lots of choice and good quality lots.
The service you get from the staff is very good nothing is too much trouble for them
Being a small island there is not much entertainment so if you like lots to do this would not be for you as there was the weekly crab race on Saturday night and a local folk group one night in the week
The island itself you could walk around in 10 to 15 mins very clean and tidy very green, and island paradise
