| said: we arrived at the can garden resort hotel on the 21st october 08,our first thoughts of how nice it was.the food was varied and plenty of salads but verry little ice creams in the restuarant or the snack bar.you helped your self to the food with waiters cleaning up as soon as you have finished.staff were always cleaning every where you went.the location of the hotel was not great but a free shuttle bus to the beach.at the beach the hotel had its own snack bar there for food & drinks which is great if you want to stay on the beach all day,but beware there is a lot of steps down to the beach.staff were helpful but the entertainment very poor.

| said: This is a lovely hotel building but a terrible hotel for a holiday. We had after reading about this hotel expected a good quality 4T hotel.
In reality the building is 4T but the quality of service at this hotel barley deserves 1T.
The hotel is out of the way about 20 min from Side and at night the area is devoid of any entertainment. The hotel animation team try their best and in fairnes during the daytime they are not bad. But at night you have to see it to believe it, a bunch of 5 yer old children could do better, it is embarassing and most people do as we did and head off to Side in a taxi or on a Dolmus.
The food is not worth bothering with apart from the deserts, they are really good but if you expect a good quality of Turkish quisine or decent basic food forget it. What they have is served cold, covered in sauce or spice and badly cooked or semi raw.
There is very little choice for children. Greasy cold chips, inedible burgers and sausage (poor quality tinned). We were warned by some other guests to be careful what we ate and we could see why.
A large amount of people were suffering with a nasty dose of Turkish tummy that lasted for 2 to 3 days. Apart from breakfast we decided to eat out and had some lovely meals. We were also spared the Turkish tummy but met many people in the hotel that had had it.
The drinks are very limited. Local Brandy,Vodka,Gin and warm watery beer. The soft drinks are very tastless and fruit juice is so watered down at times it is hard to tell what it is supposed to be.
The waiters work hard but they are also on the lookout for young English girls. They were very sugestive to my 15 year old daughter and she was upset by their advances. This was reported to the hotel but didn't seem to have any effect.
The pool has a problem and at times smells of chlorine or is murkey water. There are no where near enough sunbeds and unless you reserve one before 6.0am you end up either on the grass or down at the beach.
The hotel runs a free bus to the beach. It is a lovely beach the only problem is that you have to clamber down some steps to get to it. Not much fun for people with pushchairs or problems walking. The hotel has a bar on the beach and you can also get a snack there.
The rooms are spacious and have a good bathroom but the room service is not up to 4T. Towls are not changed unless they are really filthy. The maid will normally hang them out on the balcony to dry and our sheets were only changed once. The bathroom is cleaned well but the rest of the room is not.
We have been to Turkey before and will retern again but not to this hotel. Be warned stay elswhere.

| said: This was our first visit to Turkey and I we were a little concerned - not knowing what to expect. My fears were soon allayed by very friendly reception staff and porters. The hotel is very clean and spacious, with an air conditioning system that cools down many public areas nicely.
We enjoyed the food very much. There was a wide variety of salad and cold meats, with a cake and dessert section that puts pounds on you by just looking at it. If there is any criticism of the food available it is that there is often little choice of main course, particularly meat.
The hotel is located in Colakli, which in reality doesn't offer the tourist much, other than an abundance of leather, tee-shirt and bag shops, all stacked from floor to ceiling with counterfeit goods. But, don't let this put you off too much because Side is ten minutes away in a taxi (costing around 25 Lire), alternatively there is a Dolmus, which stops near the front of the hotel, costing a fraction of the taxi fare.
The hotel staff were very nice. All spoke to us pleasantly and offered a smile. The service at the bars and restaurant were quick and courteous. The entertainment was poor, but get yourself to the bar for a quiet drink or into Side for a meal and this doesn't matter.
We would visist this hotel again.

| said: Plese do not be tempted by the photos of this hotel. It is a lovley building but that is about the only good thing about this hotel.
We were all inclusive,we would have been far better going elsewhere B&B or self catering.I am fortunate enough to get away on holiday 4 or 5 times a year and this is by far the worst hotel I have ever stopped at as far as the quality of service goes.
The comunial areas are kept very clean but for a farly new hotel the standard of cleaning in the rooms is not up to its star rating even by Turkish standards. The small balcony was never swept and the patio doors had finger marks all over them. I put our dirty towls in the bath expecting them to be replaced by clean only to find them hanging on the balcony to dry on our retern. The bed linin was only changed once during our stay.
The food is terrible everything covered in a sauce or spice and cold ( apart from the chips ).If you are happy to ony eat salad and desert then you will be o.k.If not then you will have to do the same as we did and eat out all the time. There were a lot of people with some sort of stomach bug that seemed to last about one to two days.We never had this problem but then we only had one meal in the hotel.
The beach is 15 to 20 min away but the hotel do have a shuttle bus and there is a bar run by the hotel on it.The beach is lovely but while we were there we met a lady in a wheelchair who had not been warned about the steps down to the beach and was unable to use it.If you have mobility problems be warned the steps down to the beach are steep.
The hotel is about 20 min bus ride away from Side but you can get a Dolmus (mini bus) outside the hotel. You can book excursions locally far cheaper than the rep can offer and if you haggle you can get some really good deals. We went on three trips and my 15 year old daughter went free. From the front of the hotel turn left walk about 500m,take the first left and walk just past the bar about 20m and you will find a booking agent on your left. The boat and market trip is really good and good food included.
The bar staff work very hard but there are not enough of them.Expect to wait to get served and the drinks are very limited and of poor quality. For some reason known only to the managment they keep shutting bars and moving to anouther bar.
The entertainment is virtually non exsistant and most people go out at night but you will not find much locally you have to travel into Side.
Around 11.30 to midnight they start to switch off the lights in reception and around the hotel making everything dull and dismal and if you want a drink after 10.30 expect to wait about 15 min to get served.
I would retern to Side but not at this location and definatly not at this hotel.

| said: The hotel looks very impressive, lots of marbel and grandious light fixtures. But I am afraid that looks can be very decieving. The food is some of the worst I have ever encountered unless you are prepared to live off cakes and desserts. The main courses are warm at best and when they go cold more food is added to try and warm it up.The cakes and deserts are first class but I would have prefered to have had the option of a decent main course.
The swimming pool seems to have a problem with the chlorine content at times it is very strong and at the beginning of the holiday the water was merkey. There are not enough sun beds for the amount of people and they are soon all reserved.
The beach is wonderful but not accesable to anyone with walking problems as it is only accesable down some steep steps.
There is a very limited choice of drinks warm beer, vodka, brandy or weak mixers. The alcoholic content seems very low but this is probably a good thing as there seems to be a lot of underage drinking.
The animation team is norm during the day but at evening it is terrible and many guests go out and find alternative entertainment.
The bar staff are overworked but do there best and are a friendly crowd.Unlike the managers who appear to be very surley and walk around switching all the lights off about 12.0pm
The maid service is poor our sheets were not changed while we were there and the small balcony and windows never cleaned.
Side is 15 to 20 min away on a Dolmus and there is a frequent service.
This was my fifth time in Turkey. We would retern to Side but definatly not to this hotel even if it was a free holiday. Time is far to precious and Turkey has some wondeful places to visit. This one should be avoided at all costs.

Sunbeds are a nightmare if you are not up before 6.30 am no chance of a bed for the day you can hear all the other guests alarm clocks going off around this time, evening entertainment very poor even 7 year old daughter did not want to go and see it best night was the gala night were they had ballet dancers which were fanastic and watered down cocktails, felt the choice of drinks very limited stayed in other all inclusive hotels and had a better choice.

| said: We have just returned from a two week stay at this hotel, and all i can say is that i am glad to be back home.We purchased a price breaker deal that guaranteed a minimum 4 star luxury all inclusive hotel in this area and on arrival we were allocated this hotel. The rooms are clean and tidy, however the pool area is very crowded and unless you get up at 6am to secure a sunbed you have no chance. This meant that my family,s 4 star luxury was a plastic chair in the area above the pool bar.We made complaints to the rep and hotel however the situation never changed, with the hotels written policy of removing towels placed before 8 am never adhered to.
The food was basic and whilst you could have all the salad and vegetables you wanted if you asked for more than a couple of cubed pieces of meat you were met with a look of disbelief off the chef and then they would sarcastically put loads on your plate, that you did not want.
The drinks were warm flat draught beer, coke etc and as for spirits it was Vodka,Gin,Brandy and raki, with warm white wine and red wine.Nothin else was on offer.Given it was a Luxury all inclusive ( allegedly) it was poor. And just after midnight even though the bar was open until 1.am the staff would come round and switch the air con and lights off.
Ice cream was served for 30 mins during afternoon, with the queues being horrendous.
Entertainment was so bad at night ( apart from 1 turkish night) that it was laughable, the animation team work hard but their talent does not match their effort.
All in all a very disappointing holiday, when you book a luxury minimum 4 star all inclusive holiday you expect a lot more than this. This hotel sets itself a 5 star rating with Thomson giving it a 4 star rating,i would give it no more than a 3 star and would definately say it was not luxurious.Very very disappointed

Bar staff brilliant once they knew your tipple your glasses were refilled without asking. All staff friendly and helpfull. Entertainment team brilliant in day time and everyone had a good laugh. Evening entertainment geared towards children only, but we enjoyed sitting on the terrace chatting to other guests without rowdy music going on - very peaceful location. Beach and bar excellent and also on all inclusive basis. Local transport to Side frequent and cheap. For what we paid (brochure price)this was a value for money holiday. Yes some guests were complaining about the hotel, could not see why especially when the next comment was we came here last year and it was bad then - why on earth come back. We are going back next June to meet up with other couples we met who also could not fault the hotel and staff.

The cleanliness is by far not the best for Turkey normally very good the room maid never made the bed just folded cover and left it on the spare bed. The ash tray on 2 occations was washed ou,t rest of time just left. Verandah small never swept.
The food was ok if you like everything spicey or covered in chocolate sauce.
If you require clean pool towels you have to go to reception and beg them not told about this so presume they don't want you to change them.
Also mini fridge not bar has 1 litre water, coke, fizzy water, only refilled Monday and Thursday.
Entertainment is still very poor although they do try a bit.
The beach is great as is the bar down there no problems with staff they are fine.
Drinks very poor only beer vodka whiskey and gin available

| said: As our party arrived late we ate at 11.30pm in the late snack bar..really enjoyed my liver stir fry, kids weren't impressed though.
First day at hotel ..pool evacuated as too much chlorine in water ..complaints of bleached shorts, sore eyes and numerous body rashes.....we went to local chemist for various creams etc ..informed we were the 7th customer from the Can Garden.
Went to the beach next day, that's the place to go plenty to do and nice and clean...600m 10 min walk or use the mini-bus that runs regularly.
Tip ....if the pool looks like Turtle Soup go to the beach, if it is clear use the pool...all pools in Turkey should be cold this one sometimes isn't ! Realised that the pool was being drained by a couple of foot some evenings then topped up with clean water, filters can't be working properly.
Lights are turned off at midnight, lower bar is advertised as closing at 12.00 then you can buy drinks up to 1.00am ..you can't... it closes !
Ignore the note you will receive telling you that you can't put towels on sunbeds..set the alarm and start at 7.45 ish.
General Manager turned up to view his empire for 2 days ...ate in the restaurant, strange had he's own menu didn't try what we were all eating.
Drinks advertised are all locally produced, only really offer beer, vodka or gin......beer served in schooner glasses, no pints.
Moral amongst some of the staff is low, Duty Manager is not liked, walks round like " Captain Peacock "
Spoke to a couple of English speaking staff, the game plan is to encourage you to leave the hotel and drink up the road in the various bars, saving the hotel money.
If you are taking kids with you aged 13-17 beware, nothing for them to do in the evenings.
Underage drinking is rife round the tennis court and animations bar. When we were there a deputation of parents spoke to the management concerning the drinking.
Try the Al a Carte Restaurant not bad something different.
Reception Manager really nice bloke speaks good English a good "Face" for the Hotel..some of his colleagues see the guests as a hindrance.....
Dress code, advertised as "Long trousers for gents in the restaurant in the evening etc"........Don't bother, plenty of shorts, vests etc being worn..questioned the "greeter" at the door who told me "I can't stop them coming in " !....restaurant is all air conditioned.
In a nut shell this is a 4/5 star Hotel offering a 2 star service.
Rafting trip is a must, also do the waterfall and market trip... Don't bother with the Antalya shopping trip...
Pat the rep really good tries to help but not sure how much the hotel listens to her.
If the Hotel could buy the land behind the swimming pool and expand the activities on offer this would really help.
Don't we fooled by the low price of the holiday Thomson know what they are doing and this Hotel will never achieve premium pricing.

The rooms were cleaned everyday fresh towels with minibar stocked with a bottle of water and a bottle of pepsi, replaced monday and thursday. The size rooms are quite spacious.
The location is about 10mins taxi drive from the nearest town of Kumkoy and about 15min to Side.
The restaurant staff quite good but all I will say is much improvment is needed in other areas of the Hotel.
Entertainment was dire to say the least.
Would I visit this hotel again a big fat no. This Hotel could be a great Hotel but I think a lot of work in the staff department is needed to succeed.

| said: Food - None of our party had tummy troubles, the food was well cooked but repetitive. The waiter in the a la carte was extremely friendly and helpful. The other bar staff we found to be rude, it was as if they were doing you a favour to serve you. Male guests were served before any female customers! That was if they had any drinks left! The bar staff at the amphitheatre (well the one person!) was polite and friendly - but he also ran out of drinks! Guess the hotel is trying to keep costs down.
The hotel itself was lovely, we had a room for four, two single beds in one area divided by the bathroom, and a double bed in the next room. The maid came in every day and it was always clean with fresh towels.
The entertainment was dire, the worst I have ever seen. A few of the guests had a sing song in the bar area one evening and that was the best entertainment of the whole holiday!
Thetransport to the beach was very good, on a frequent basis, and there were facilities there for food and drink on the all inclusive basis. A word of caution - if you have any mobility difficulties there are a lot of steps to get down to the beach! All drinks/food/toilet facilities are at the beach bar - which is at the top of the steps!
The hotel is in a remote location and you need to get the dolmus or taxi to go anywhere else.
I definitely would not visit this hotel again. On the plus side we met some lovely people, but it would have been even better in a different location at a different hotel.

The hotel rooms are very comfortable and the air conditioning was brilliant a welcome relief from the heat.
The food is good but there are not a lot of meat options. Could have done with a few roast meats or steaks on the menu.
Most of the staff were friendly but some were very rude.
The Pool is good and I loved the decking area above the pool bar. However the cleaning around the poll area could be improved.
The entertainment during the day at the pool is OK. Aqua aerobics and pool volleyball, darts etc but the eveing entertainment had a lot to be desired. We had young teenagers in our party who found it boring in the evening. The shows were all outdoors in the amphi theatre but there was not an adequate bar here and you had to queue for drinks. You then had to hope they had not run out of what you wanted.
The alcoholic spirits choice was very limited and it is only local products so they were not very strong.

| said: The hotel looks very impressive and with a change of management could be a good hotel.
The food is diabolical and every thing is spicy and cold. The chef checks the temp with his hand and adds some more food if he thinks it is cold then mixes it all up. I have been to Turkey many times and the food is normally very good but this hotel is trying to cut costs any way they can. The orange at breakfast is watered down so much that you can't taste any orange. True the deserts are good but who wants to eat nothing but deserts. The pool bar have burgers but they put raw and cooked food on the same surface. Food hygiene at this hotel is non existent. We were all inclusive and ended eating up the road at a local bar.
They have a problem with the pool filtration and it is either so full of chlorine that it bleaches clothes and causes a rash or it is murky.
The beach is lovely but to get to it you have to go down some steep steps with a open manhole at the bottom,a point not mentioned in the brochures. No access for disabled.
Our bed linen was only changed once during the week.
They keep running out of basic drinks like brandy, vodka and they are watered down.
Lights are switched off in the reception area at night to save money making it dismal and depressive.
The entertainment team walked out while we were there because of a dispute with the management. Apparently the third time this had happened. The bar staff are run off their feed while the managers sit around talking and large queues build up.
Turkey is a wonderful country and has some very impressive hotels but this is not one of them. Do not come to this hotel it just is not worth it. To give it 2 stars would be pushing it.

| said: Can Garden Resort is a new hotel open for about 2 months.
The resort is situated in a town called Colaki.
It has a large outside pool and indoor pool (which is cold water).
The hotel is very very clean.
The food is great. Of course, its not going to be to everyones taste, but overall there was good choice. In the afternoon there is cake served by the pool. There is a snack bar that serves burgers, chips, salad, fruit and sometimes hot donuts in the afternoons (usually Wed and Sundays). You can help yourself to drinks as well as being served at the bar. The coffee is great in the terrace bar and the hot chocolate if you feel like it.
Staff - the hotel is having some problems with staff. Whilst we were there the Entertainment team were sacked. Some of the waiters can be rude and lear at you. However, all the staff in the dining area at really really nice/friendly.
There are some shops on the resort:
The gold jewellers: def barter with them. The less interest you show the more they will drop the price. Everything is priced in £.
The bag/belt shop: probably the best around. He does not drop on prices much but you will still get a bargain.
The T shirt shop: Although the prices are quite good, the guy in the shop is quite difficult to barter with, almost to a frustrating level.
Sun Glass Shop: Pick yourself a bargain.
Silver shop: Again barter with her - she will eventually drop her prices.
PHOTOGRAPHER: Just keep any eye out for him!
Visit again - yes most definitely.

Hotel complex spotless, staff excellent. The food we both found to be good with a wide variety of choice perhaps bacon and sausage at breakfast would be a bonus and ice cream at the poolside but these very minor points. We personally enjoyed the a la carte it was a nice change to be waiter served. I must admit we both are willing to try any food in any destination.
The hotel location of Colakli had a small number of shops, bars etc, more could be found at kumkoy a few minutes away or side or Manavgat 10/20 minutes away by dolmus.
The entertainment we saw was poor at night although the team worked hard during the daytime to try and satisfy all. The beach was reached by the hourly minibus there was a small restaurant there for meals and drinks.
We took our own towels and used the smaller hotel towels as headrests. Would suggest taking handsoap not a lot of lather with hotels.
The hotel had its own small shopping centre which had good prices and tookaway the continous harrasment you had in side with the shopkeepers. There was a hairdressers which had manicure and massage and pedicure which was excellent value according to the wife.
We both would love to return.

| said: The Can Gardens Resort is a new hotel, situated a 10-15 min bus ride from the resort of Side and a 10 min walk from a golden beach. Manvagat is a short bus ride away and self drive was easy to Antalya and Alanya. The Tourus moutains are a wonderful backdrop and make up for the lack of a sea-view.
Because it is new, the hotel was very clean and staff work hard to maintain such levels. Rooms are cleaned daily with fresh linen provided. The foyer, lounge and terrace bars are clean and comfortable.
The food is a self serve buffet. All four of my party (adults) found the choices, quality and quantity to be excellent although a small number of other guests were disappointed in the lack of English type food, particularly for children. the choices of sweets was amazing!!! The al a carte (served, in outside setting) was a major let-down however - we believe this is an area the hotel needs to improve or radically change (maybe a pizza restaurant??).
The All Inclusive includes a limited selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available until midnight after which a charge is payable. Beer and spirits and hot drinks were readily available. There is one main restaurant (called the Pinus.....) where the majority of meals are available. There is a small choice of poolside snacks available at lunch time (burgers, chips, pizzas etc...).
Predominately the self-serve buffets include an extensive choice of breads, soup, hot meals (yes... chips are available!), numerous cold salads, pickles, sauces and delecious sweets. Breakfast is between 7-10.30am, lunch 12.30-2pm and dinner 7-9pm. There are 'snacks' available 4-5pm and 11.30pm-midnight.
Without exception the staff were courteous, friendly and willing to help. South Turkey has been dominated by German tourists over the last 10 years and Side is beginning to notice an increase in UK visitors - therefore good German spoken but less so for English.
The entertainment was a little hit and miss - whilst we were there, a group of entertainment staff left to be replaced by a group of young 'energetic' staff.
The design of the hotel does lead to noise being amplified around the bedroom areas and doors banging and loudly spoken guests were a problem for me. Nearby hotel entertainment was clearly audiable and a new hotel to the rear of the Can Garden is about to open which will have a major impact upon the hotel. Thankfully most entertainment is over by 10.30-11.30pm at the latest.
Rooms are 'functional' with 5ft beds in most. Balconies are small, particularly rooms set on the top floors. Bathrooms are adequate - shower/shallow bath/w.c. 1200watt hairdryer in the bathroom and shaver point. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. TV is predominately Turkish/German channels. No Sky Sports.
The pool was large and clean but has a steep 'bridge' to cross which some may find difficult. The indoor pool is not heated.... and is COLD!!!
There is a very small gym, sauna and Turkish Bath. There are a few shops within the hotel and a hairdresser. There is also a small 'games room' which is payable.
Overall we all found the hotel to be very pleasant and we would happily visit again.
