The staff are great, very friendly and helpful. The location couldn't be better, most people go onto the beach during the day,it's fantastic!
The locals come onto the beach around 3.30 p.m. But they are nice too.
The food is o.k. We have been for the last 4 years and always been happy with it.
As for the entertainment,in the past it has been good, this year it was terrible in the eve.o.k. During the day if you have children with you.

The location of the hotel could not be better right on the sea front.
Entertainment seemed ok but we only used to catch small bits of it as we used to eat out or eat in our room as we found this British Corner Shop called " White Island Corner Shop" which sell all British Groceries just a 2 minute walk from hotel.

| said: Let me start by saying that this is a FAMILY hotel. If you book to go to a FAMILY hotel then you will get kids making noise all day from early morning until late at night. Get over it.
The hotel itself is, for self catering, spot on. I paid the extra few Euro's for a view overlooking the pool and it was worth every penny. The room is not the biggest but considering we used it to sleep, get changed and shower then it is ideal.
This resort is wicked. Not for the young looking for a mad clubbing time but more for my age up really.
The whole area is clean, saw no trouble the whole 2 weeks we were there and found the best pub, and host/hostess I think we have ever been to throughout the whole world. Get yourself down to the Queen Victoria Bar on Calle San Juan for a great night. Neil and Kerry will look after you all night / morning and it is THE BEST SUNDAY ROAST I HAVE EVER HAD (sorry mum!)
If anybody wanted to ask more, then please do so but we got back on Sunday 10th June and we are already booking to go back again in September.
Cheers

| said: First the good...
Couldn't fault the hotel for cleanliness - reception staff seemed helpful once they had got over trying to (hard) sell a room with a sea view.
We were offered an upgrade for 70E but declined this.
Asked for a "quiet" room - told by staff those by pool were very noisy.
Ended up on ground floor with no view
Shower very powerful and hot - bath a bit small for anyone taller than 5' 4"
Single beds with extra pillows/blankets in wardrobe. Maids didn't get grumpy if you pushed the beds together
Went self-catering - first impression was room was very small and facilities limited. Fridge, two-ringed hob and microwave - all within the bedroom area.
The bad...
Make sure you pack some earplugs - this is a very noisy hotel
There were unsupervised children running up and down corridors at at all hours and everywhere else.
Beware when walking near pool table otherwise someone will have you eye out with a cue
Noisy guests shouting and screaming along corridors and slamming doors at all day and night.
Anyone moving furniture or beds above you caused disturbance.
Not helped by tiled floors which were very echoy)
Our room was on ground floor and had sewage pipes behind cardboard thin walls so everytime someone flushed a loo or used the bath you knew about it
Noise from the lifts 24/7 whirlling and clanking.
Noise from pool tables and other noisy games eg ice puck reverberated around complex into small hours.
Any room facing the pool - noisy entertainment until midnight
We thought the entertainment was frankly naff but it seemed to attract between 30 and 50 people. Some of material not child-friendly

Kettle would have been useful had microwave and rings but basic for self catering. Breakfast in hotel good value (book on arrival for best value)for length of your stay.
Location ideal very central. When we arrived we were asked if we would like pool/sea view at extra cost 21 euros per week we declined but then when we saw our room paid the extra, take the chance someone must get the view without paying.
Entertainment good for families and Kevin and Lalia work hard and even make the audience work at times.
Loads of places to eat Mels was hard to pass by also had a nice meal at The Gallery on resturant st (a bit fancy for our 12yr old) but we loved it.Roll on next year WE WILL BE BACK!

We went self catering as we much prefer eating out if you are a family though staying half board would work out a lot cheaper for you as eating out is really expensive.
The location is fab right next to the beach and a great view from our balcony of the harbour. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment which was quite spacious however a studio would have been fine. We didn't get many clean towels though and had the same dirty tea towel all week.
The maids only made the beds didn't do much else but it was OK. Wasn't keen on the entertainment but would be great for families games etc for kids.
The hotel pool was too busy to get a bed so had to go the the beach. The pool wasn't that appealing anyway.
We wouldn't visit again as we rarely go the the same place twice too many other places to visit.

| said: Just got back from 1 Weeks stay at the Orquidea Hotel.
Loved it, the position is perfect and so where the rooms.
This hotel is in the middle of the town and a 2 minute walk to the restaurant st. and right on the beach.
Rooms: Room were spotless and cleaned 6 out of 7 days, kitchen was basic but fine for what we needed. Nice balcony overlooking the pool and beach (Note: A couple in front of us checking in upgraded to a sea view room and paid extra, we didn't but ended up opposite them. So same room same view. I would wait to see the room first before doing this as to me its just a money making scheme!!!!)
Pool/ Beach/ Was an average size but we went off peak and was still quite busy and the same people reserving their spot with towels until the sun beds were unlocked! We rather the beach anyway. Sun beds are 3 Euros each just outside the beach and the cafe that you rent them from do lots of lovely snacks too.
Restaurant/ Bars: Didn't eat in either as their are much better options close by.
All in all, loved and want to go back already!
Extra Info:
Restaurants to go to, Daffers/ Palardi/ The Gallery.
Bars, Sandys on the restaurant street and Liquido down at the marina...

While out there we paid for a weeks half board at very reasonable price of 280 euro for a family of four for one week. Food was good and their was a good selection.

The entertainment was ok keeping the children occupied most of the day. All in all would recommend this hotel to anyone and would have no hesitation going back there again.

The hotel is kept spotlessly clean and all the staff are both pleasant and helpful.
The location of the hotel is perfect as you are right on the promenade and close to all amenities.
Our 16 year old daughter went to the hotel disco most nights which was perfectly safe as it is located within the hotel grounds. The evening entertainment was good fun to watch but no pressure to join in.
A number of people were there from previous years and we would definitely go back again.

Also we found all the rooms had air conditioning and a tv at no extra charge the air con was brilliant , last year we had to pay for this extra but not here which was brilliant considering the temperature.
The only downfall was the noise from above I would recommend you get 4th floor you can here a pin drop above you , but there was always tables / chairs being moved and footsteps at all hours.
I have read a lot of reviews about the staff and in our opinion they were always very helpfull and very friendly.
The entertainment was brilliant Kevin and Lila dont stop all day and night all you have got to do is get involved and enjoy it your on your holidays. The children are entertaind all day on and of and then theres the adults as well water polo, darts, pools, rifle shooting and French boules all good fun.
I have been to Ibiza the last 3 years love the place every year just gets better would go back here again, in fact the other 2 coules we met are going back cant say enough good about it.

We asked to be moved but had to wait until the next day when some guests were leaving. Our new apartment was overlooking the countryside and very quiet which was good.
The hotel is very nice but the apartments are too small for 4 adults, small balcony with only 2 chairs, one electric socket in the living area & one in the bedroom, so we had to wait for each other drying hair etc. luckily we had half board as the kitchen area was inadequate, microwave broken, no kettle & no where to plug in the toaster.
The restaurant was very nice but the food was much the same every night so we ate out some of the time. The location of the hotel is perfect but for our party we would stay somewhere else if we returned.

| said: We stayed at the hotel from 19th Oct 2005 for 1 week.
The hotel itself is great. It's in a good location and is very clean and well maiontained. I had read the mixed reviews on various sites and can say that we had a very pleasant stay.
The self catering facilities are not very good for cooking antything other than toast or making sandwiches. However we found it very difficult to have cereal, as there were no bowls in the room.
We paid the extra for the room and got a room right on the front of the hote, overlooking the brach (room 309) The sun rises in the morning were great.
The weather for the week was surprisingly hot. There was only one thunderstorm in the whoile week and that was at night. Spectacular bolts of lightening lit up the sky!
The best place to eat was defo Mels and the chinese at the end of the bay did a great buffet for 9.50 euros.
There were quite a few hotels already shut and some bars had called it a day for the winter, but there was still enough to keep you entertained, but it was not busy at all.
The hotel entertainment was mainly geared to kids. The reps worked hard, but it was not the kind of night I enjoy, but the kids loved it.
I can see that the hotel in mid summer would be a nightmare of the place. We had no trouble getting a place around the pool, but in summer, you would have no chance. The sunbeds were not chained up, but maybe that was because of the time of year.
Some people complianed of the noise while we were ther, nit I can honestly say we had no trouble. I suppose it depends on who you get above you or next door!!!

| said: We stayed at the Orquidea hotel in Sept 2005. 9 adults travelled it was a family holiday. We found the hotel very clean and tidy ,the hotel is all marble and the front of the hotel is very pretty and inviting with water feature, marble steps and glass doors.
Reception area is a good size which leads onto a seating/lounge area with many tables and pool tables. To the right of this is the bar in a seperate room all glass doors and windows throughout so you can see in and out.
Straight ahead in front the seating area is the doors leading out into the pool area, this is a nice area also with bar and seating area and sun loungers which are easily accessible in the mornings.steps at the back of hotel lead straight out onto the promenade and directly opposite is one of the beaches.
On arriving at the hotel we asked for an upgrade to pool view but weren't able to get one as all the rooms were booked. The staff offered to let us know when a room was available and they kept to their word, although we found the outside rooms were quieter than the ones overlooking the pool so we stayed in our original room.
Rooms are ok for 2 adults any more than that would be a squeeze although the maximum capacity for the rooms is 4 adults. Rooms are basic, balcony is nice area and the maid service in the room is very good we had no compliants about the cleanliness.
Hotel staff were on the whole a nice group although one particular night when returning to the hotel we were greeted by a man who was a bit rude to us on reception although throughout our stay he became friendly. the childrens entertainment was good with the two entertainers being very child friendly and full of energy. Adult entertainment could have been a bit better.
Shop in hotel was pricey and so was food and drink. We found Mel's Diner along the seafront the best value for money and very friendly staff. It offers typically english food and it is a down to earth place we went everyday for breakfast and some days for lunch and dinner.
Would return again to hotel had a very pleasant 2 week stay.

| said: We stayed in the hotel at the end of Sept 05, and found it to be very quiet, which was a bonus for us.
After booking the holiday in a rush, then reading reviews of thefts etc on this site, I was a bit concerned.
However, I can honestly say that there wasn't a single suspicious incident whilst we were there.
The hotel is very nicely decorated, and better than we had expected. The location is great, as it's right on the beach, and not far from the shops.
There is a spar shop in the hotel, but it's very pricey, so a 2 minute walk towards town you will find 2 supermarkets. One was called EROSKI and is similar to a Tescos.
Hotel room size was good, but we stayed self catering and as others have said, the kitchen space is very small with a very limited range of cutlery and plates etc.
The maids are always around, and if you need one, ask at reception and they are always willing to help.
I can see why the hotel would be a nightmare in peak/school holiday times, but September was just the right time to go, with temperatures around 28 degrees, and an average number of people around. There is internet access in the hotel but if you're not proficient on a keyboard you'll have fun with the Spanish type!
The food and drinks in the hotel are very pricey, and ice creams are about 3 euros each, where a 1 minute walk along the seafront gets you to an icecream hut at 1 - 2 euros each. I guess that's the price you pay for convenience.
Breakfast is served by the pool from 9am at a variety of prices, and was "Full English" but judging by the amount you get, clearly not Full English the way we Brits do it!
The pool is clean, but very deep, and very very cold. It was too deep for our 2 year old son to stand in, even right at the baby end. Getting sunbeds was no problem and plenty of bar seating was available.
The kiddies disco and games run 6 nights a week from around 8-9pm until midnight by the pool, and there is an activity board by the pool listing games in the days.
We asked for a room with sea view, and were given a lovely room with balcony overlooking the beach at no extra cost, but had to move from this room at about 10pm on the first night as the music from the kid's disco was very loud and kept our son awake.
The key to rooms in this hotel, is to imagine it as a "V" shape. The pool is in between the "V" All rooms on the inside of the "V" are loud. If you have children who will not be going to the entertainment, ask for a room on the outside, and it is very quiet. We did notice the noise from the disco travels through all the corridors as everything is typically marble. Therefore, shutting the windows by the lifts solves this problem.
Leaving the hotel by the pool exit takes you straight onto the pedestrianised beach path. The beach in front of the hotel is rocky, and full of cigarette ends. It is ideal for sunbating on the readily available rental loungers.
If you prefer a proper beach, the 1 minute walk to the left past the fountain reveals a beach which is soft, clean and great for kids. It is also lined by bars and restaurants.
There is no tide here either, which means you can set up right by the water without worrying about having to move.
Grab yourself a snorkle and goggles, and have a look at the Scissortails and Catfish that swim right up to the shore around your feet!
Eating out on the seafront is definitely recommended, and Mels is great value for money, although service varied from waiter to waiter. The food was always great. Just up from Mels, next to the sunglass shop is "Bar Y Sol". This was definitely our best evening out, with great food at great prices and superb service. We really felt valued and welcomed, and even when our son played up (as wonderful 2 year olds do) the waiter made a game of it, entertaining him while we ate.
Restaurante Columbus was superb for lunchtime paninis and sandwiches, along with great priced San Miguel. Service was great too. We didn't eat there in the evenings as it was always packed.
In the centre of the town is a small market selling things like jewellery, clothes and ornaments at average market prices, and we were recommended to travel to the hippy market in Es cana on the Thursday as it was much bigger.
We took the luxury water taxi to Es Cana and spent about an hour in the overcrowded, repetitive and unoriginal hippy market, before returning to Santa Eulalia via the water taxi. However, on the way back the luxury boat had been replaced by a rotting old slow boat which was packed full and slightly unnerving, not to mention nauseating! My advice, take a 10 minute road taxi instead!
Santa Eulalia town centre features some lovely shops and bistros, and you have plenty of places to pick up your souvenirs. In the town square there is a tobacconist at very reasonable prices so that's obviously recommended.
Just to the left of the hotel entrance is a great off license where we bought all our booze, and the chap was very helpful with the best buys.
Don't go expecting to pick up any electrical or branded clothing bargains in the town though, as those items are very expensive. For example, Playstation 1 games for £30-£40 where here they are £5-£10, and Nike trainers for £10-£20 more than in the UK. There were also a surprising lack of cheap imitation goods around which was unexpected (except at the hippy market where you could pick up a poor imitation Rolex for £10).
The locals are very friendly, and there are plenty of things to do if you are just after a casual holiday to relax from it all.
We would definitely go back again, but next time for two weeks so that we can take advantage of the numerous excursions around the island.
The hotel and area are thoroughly recommended, especially for parents with kids around 5-10 years old.
If you're just a couple though, I'd recommend somewhere else unless you plan to be out of the hotel for the entire time.

A spanish girl and boy walk around the hotel randomly trying to open room doors. There is no security at all and all doors are left open straight onto the promenade.
When you report it to the staff they deny it is happening. You only need to talk to other guests. Three other guest rooms were burgled whilst we were there.
On our last night I was in my room and the spanish girl thief tried again to break into my room and other rooms in the corridor.
Also two teenage boys were lured away from the hotel gates and attacked for money.

The night time entertainment was child orientated but chikdren did seem to enjoy it. We got a small white boat from the other end of the beach outside a great english pub called bar Dona Ana. This serves great food with huge portions and at cheap prices. All of the food is from England including the bread and beans.
The small white boats were cheap. The boat went to Es Cana which is the Blackpool of ibiza. The boats also go to Ibiza town and Cala Llonga. You can also get a catamaran to the island next to Ibiza called Formenta.
When I went the country was going through a heat wave at around 30 degrees.
Overall the holiday was great. Family should definitely go.

The hotel food was good but you could get a better value for money by venturing outside the hotel. We were 2 adults in a room for 4 so we found that we had plenty of room there was cooking facilities, tv with a range of channels (yes british ones), a full size fridge, balcony and safe. Everything you'd require on holiday. The hotel was good for children as there was never ending entertainment throughout the day and night including a games room and pool table. The hotel had a lovely pool and was situated on the beach front which was very handy. although you did have to get to the pool early to get a lounger. The shops and bars were on the doorstep, an ideally located hotel with everything close by. I would definately consider going to the hotel again especially when i have my own family as it was really good for children.

| said: Hotel is in a perfect location right across from a lovely beach.
On arrival we were allocated a room above the bar on the first floor I asked for a higher room and we offered to pay for a larger room but the hotel was fully booked. The room we did get allocated was at the side of the hotel it was nice and quiet and you could see out to the sea and it was on the second floor. I was not very happy at the size of the sitting room as there was too much furniture in the room it just looked cluttered but after moving the furniture about it was better. Although every night we still had to move a table to get the sofa beds out. The bedroom was a ok size with two beds in it.
We always found the hotel staff friendly. The maids appeared every day with clean towels and cleaned around our room for us.
There was entertainment during the day and at night although our kids never got that much involved in it but everyone else seemed to enjoy it and it seemed to cater for all ages.
We all enjoyed the pool in was a safe pool for kids and always clean. The only thing I would say about the pool is if you want a sun bed be at the pool for 08:30 hrs and be prepared to be stressed. They all make their places by sitting on the chairs where they want to place their beds but the beds do not get unchained until 9 then it is a mad rush. We did do this a few days but I did not enjoy it.
We would stay in this hotel again but I would like to make sure I got a bigger room booked before I arrived.
Value for money was excellent.

| said: Just got back from a week at the Orquidea Aparthotel with our 4 year old and 1 year old daughters and found it to be very good.
HOTEL
Arrived at about 11pm and were asked if we wanted to upgrade to pool or sea view. We looked at the room we had been allocated first before looking at the sea view one. The sea view one also was overlooking the pool and we had been warned about it being noisy at night. So we decided on the original room which in fact was bigger than the one we would have had to pay for and had 2 balconies and saved us a bit of money!
The cot that we had pre-ordered was not in the room, but a quick word with reception and it was delivered to our room.
The only downside was the kitchen workspace was very small to even cut bread etc. We had to use the table or top of the fridge, but this was not a big problem.
There was enough wardrobe space but not enough draw space for a family of 4.
The hotel was clean and maids were seen all the time and were very friendly. They even cleaned our apartment and made the beds on the day we left as we extended our room until 6pm.
We did enquire about hiring a TV for the week. The English receptionist was honest with us and told us that it was linked to the one in the lobby area and you had to watch whatever was on there and she said most of the time it was the sports channel. We decided not to bother as we did not want to be in the middle of something for it to be turned over half way through!
POOL
The pool was freezing! Although it had a children's section it was very deep. The week we went was fairly quiet, but was beginning to get busy as we left leading up to Half Term and we imagine it would get too crowded around the pool.

Right on the beach which was great, but the better beach was just round the corner by the water fountain. The sea was clearer and there were no rocks in the water. This beach was much nicer for our children. We saw some dogs on the one in front of the hotel.
Two supermarkets close by. Supermarket in the hotel, but very expensive.
CHILDRENS CLUB
Thomson ran an excellent club. There were 3 age groups ranging from 3-12. Our daughter went to the 3-5 group from 11:30-13.30, there was face painting, stories, drawing, going to the beach. Each day had a theme, like bears or the Wild West. There was also an evening club a few nights a week where your child could go from 7pm-9pm for 3 Euros. They had parties, limbo dancing, cake, crisps, sweets, cocktails and the kids had a great time.
Before we went on the holiday, we were a little worried about leaving our daughter at these clubs, as we had heard about children wandering out of other tour operators' clubs. The Thomson children's reps were excellent and made each child feel special and we were confident that she was being looked after well.
ENTERTAINMENT
There was entertainment around the pool every day with Kevin and Oscar. Activities included water polo, crossbow, pool, shooting.
In the evening Kevin and Oscar kept everyone entertained. There was Bingo every night at 9pm (think this could have been limited to a few times a week and put something else on in its place). The Kiddies Disco seemed to be a hit with both children and adults, but this did not start until after 9.30 every night and this was a little late for some children.
We did not stay for the later entertainment, apart from Karaoke, but it included things like Men vs. Women, Quizzes etc.
EATING OUT
Mels had been recommended, so we ate there on the first night. The food was fine, but nothing special and the drinks were expensive.
There was a café just up from the hotel called Vilore which did good children's meals and also a pint of lager for 1 Euro! Think this was just during the day and early evening though.
A place you MUST visit at least once (we ate there 3 times in a week!) is Daffers on Restaurant Row. They do an early bird 3 course meal for 12 Euros between 6:30 and 8:00 and 15 Euros after that. The menu is varied and has lots of choice. The service is excellent, efficient and very friendly and the restaurant has a really nice atmosphere. The lamb is gorgeous and the home-made liver pate was great too. My husband has eaten in expensive restaurants in hotels on business and he said that the food in Daffers beats them hands down. The place is always packed and people wait at the bar for a table, so it shows how popular it is. Can't imagine you would get a table in the summer without booking one.
We were a little worried about this hotel after reading about the recent break-ins, but during our stay did not hear about any incidents in the hotel. However, there was a note on the First Choice table about a bag snatcher about and to be careful. The Thomson guests were not warned about this.
Would return to both the hotel and resort in the future as it was in a very good location and was well run.

| said: This was our first time here, upon arriving we were pleasantly surprised with what we saw.
The hotel reception staff were pleasant and welcomed us. We asked about a room change/upgrade because we wanted to be able to see our kids while they were doing there kids thing. This was not a problem at all and for a small fee we had a room over looking the pool and the sea.
So far so Good !
The room was more than adequate but the kitchen could have done with a slight extention !! (Didn't cook much so wasn't really a problem).
Still so far so good.
The kids pool was safe and clean and the bigger pool was clean and cold but that didn't stop anyone !! Especially the kids !!
Entertainment for the kids was, well, "They can't wait to go back!" That speaks for it's self.
Still so far so good.
Beach over the foot path, fish around your feet, "everyone must try Snorkelling"
Very Clean. Restaurants and small bars where ever you want them and a huge variety of cuisines.
DO NOT MISS THE HIPPY MARKET
We got a small cab to the Hippy Market and my wife was off ! !
We are going back, I'm on-line booking now, that's how I ended up putting this feed back on.
An all round wonderful family holiday and we can't wait to get back!

| said: My partner and I stayed in the Orquidea Hotel for a week in September, half board. After previous posts we decided to upgrade our room, which worked out about £20 for the week for both of us. Our room was lovely; small kitchen but everything you could need, and a brilliant view of both the pool and the beach and sea.
We saw a lot of the Island and Santa Eulalia was definitely the best place to stay, for us. It was quiet, but not dead, with lots of choice of restaurants (with pretty good prices and something for everyone). Avoid if you want clubs and a big drinking scene. The best things about Santa Eulalia are the walks - the main promenade, complete with a few nice fountains, and also a few other promenades, or pedestrian walkways. Even at night it’s never threatening, which is good.
One walk goes along side the river and up to the Roman Bridge (get bread and feed the fish, you’ll be amazed!) and another over a newer bridge and around some small beaches – both of those are reached by turning right out of the hotel. To the left there is the main promenade going to the fancy marina, and behind the marina there’s another promenade. It’s a longer walk but it will lead to a pine forest which also has a lovely path going up to a view point. It’s supposed to be possible to walk to the next town but we never figured it out, and I think it was a fair way!
The resort is a lovely place to hang around, but we enjoyed getting out and about to the rest of the Island.
Our only bad memory is trying to get a bus to the San Marco Caves. It was a nice place but not worth the hassle it took us to get there. A very nice bus driver ended up driving just the 2 of us up there even though we had missed what must have been the only bus of the day to get the last part of the journey!
The hotel was overall good. The room was really nice – not amazing but clean and enough space for the 2 of us, and a lovely view!
There is entertainment noise till midnight or so, but it never really annoyed me – I wasn’t trying to sleep much before then anyway! The kiddies were always having a good time, but when we were there they were always kept busy, not running amok. Even in September (the end of the tourist season) the sun beds were busy, but we always managed to squeeze ourselves in somewhere!
The food was not in my view brilliant. My partner (a meat eater, and a “sausage and chips” guy) did well enough, although not hugely impressed, but vegetarians beware. They work on the “fish = vegetarian” principle, the food is not labelled so you may find your self guessing what has meat hidden in it, and if there is a veggie option is will more than likely be pasta cooked in a tinned-tomato sauce and with a bit of cheese on top. If you are unlucky – like me – be prepared for an argument with the head waitress, who seems to think that ALL veggies eat fish and therefore you are just trying to cause trouble.
Most of the staff were polite but a few weren’t.
No TVs in the room, either, if you want that sort of thing. And one last word of warning – after feeling totally safe all week, on the last night when we were outside queuing for the Thomson bus to the airport a lad ran past, snatched someone’s handbag, and his mate was waiting to collect him on a motorbike at the end of the road. So keep your luggage close!

| said: HOTEL & CLEANLINESS
the hotel was spotless, as it has been on our 5 other holidays here. we paid the supplement and had an up grade to sea view, and it was well worth every penny, we were on the top floor with massive balcony, with 2 sun beds, 4 chairs and a small table, and there was still plenty of room, the rooms are compacted, but who comes on holiday to sit in room all day. we found it very adequate other than we found there was not enough draw and wardrobe space, but then we took to teenagers with us...say no more about the amount of stuff they take on hols with them!!! kitchen very basic, but i wasn't planing on doing a dinner party
FOOD
food we cant comment on, as we were self catering, but were told by other guest that it did get a bit reparative over a 2 week period, but as for the food not being warm didnt here that. the snack bar at the pool we found good value 2 euros for a plate of chips 2.euros 50 for a burger, possibly the cheapest around, the drinks on the other hand were very expensive...hence we drank else where.
LOCATION
WOW.......... you cant beat it, very pretty promenade out side main gates, other side of prom is the beach, 5 yards tops to the beach id say , possibly 10 yards and your in the sea
OK, we had a bad storm and a day of very bad wind, so there was a little seaweed about, but it was tracktor to the far end of the beach at night.
When weather is calm sea is very very clear, i did see 1 fish swimming around my feet, where as 9yrs ago when we were last here they might have been a lot more, but the beach is double the size now to what it was then.
STAFF
well.....i wanting to bring our maid home with us, she was such a sweetie, how they work in that heat i will never know...Cant fault any of the staff they were all very pleasant and very helpfull, but then i was also pleasant with them, i think when you cant speck the language as i cant. a pleasant attitude and a smile helps both parties { chill we're on hols that's my motto } my teenage son said 1 or 2 of the staff was a bit offish with him, but then ...so am i on times lol
ENTERTAINMENT
day time entertainment was very good, kept the kids and the young at heart very happy with water polo crossbow pool companions, and if you win 5 certificates you will
get a metal that you can treasure for ever....lol
night time entertainment was not our cup of tea, but those who stayed in of a night really enjoyed it, my 13 yr. old being one of them, we found it very loud and a lot of audience participation we did walk in one night and there was a very good duo on stage
ALL IN ALL..ORQUEDA AND SANTA ELULIA WILL BE SEE US AGAIN VERY SOONS

| said: We arrived at about 4.30am and were asked if we would like a sea view room for an extra 84 Euros for the fortnight. We decide this would be nice and paid the extra money but unfortunately we were not told that this meant we were close to the poolside where the entertainment took place until 11.30pm every night. This was the only downside of the hotel - it really was pointless to try to go to bed before 11.45 as the noise was horrendous - beware if you book a sea view room but want an early night now and again.
There were many room maids - some were excellent but some cleaning was not so hot!
Location of the hotel was excellent - Central for everything you required. We did not use the pool at all as the beach was so lovely and just over the road
from the hotel.
We did have a problem with the air conditioning in the room and initially the engineer said there was noting wrong with it. However, when we got back to our room at about 11.30pm one evening, it was boiling hot and we asked someone to come up and see. A man came up within minutes (possibly the night manager) and agreed it was obviously not working and the problem was corrected next day.
We would visit the hotel again - but avoid a sea view or pool view room and then our holiday would be excellent

| said: We loved the Orquidea. We were given a pool view room without requesting it. This was a wonderfully clean and spacious room. In the brochure it said small when fully occupied - but we found it fine - but we only stayed in to sleep. The salt water pool was always clean and well maintained. Oscar and Kevin's entertainment kept us all laughing and far from boredom. The kids disco kept my kids going all day. They loved the model making with Oscar and he made the children feel very special.
The staff were always smiling and very helpful. The bar staff and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful and even the maids always smiled and said hello.
Our only down side and it was only a small thing is that we arrived at 5.00 am on the saturday morning and only slept until 9.00 am and decided on an early night on the sunday - the pool side of the hotel is also the entertainment side and none of us could sleep until the entertainment was over at midnight - so make sure you plan sleep for kids between 5.00 pm and 9.00 pm if they need to catch up in the day at all.
With the beach being so close it was useful to use the toilets at the Orquidea as well.
We will definately visit Santa Eulalia again and stay at the Orquidea.

Battle of the sexes is hilarious you should join in when that's on i had to hoola-hoop whilst kaylee said orquidia in a really high -opera style- voice lol. At night the disco bar was a bit empty but it wasn't peak season so...Me and Kaylee went into San Antonio one night, it costs 30 euro for a taxi but is well worth it for the teenagers , great clubs and that, maybe not for every night though! The entertainment staff, kevin and oscar were great, they were like big kids themselves but aw they were really nice guys though , knew every childs name and that! The stuff during the day was ran by Kevin , there was like water polo , badminton (in a squash court) , squash pool , table tennis and more!Me and Kaylee made pals with everyone there it's like everyone's one big family , me and Kaylee loved the Batemans ! So overall it was great and i'll miss it but no fear i'm going back in October and next year alone with kaylee so be ready for us!!!

It was 8.00 am to 10.00 am for breakfast and 6.30 pm till 8.30 pm for tea. The hotel was in a perfect place. Out of the back gates and you was on the beach. The staff was very friendly but we got to like one of the staff called Elisibeth. We will miss here till we go back. This hotel is a must. Fantastic. Its a holiday to remember

| said: We stayed at Orquidea Hotel, on a apartment.
Very good apartment, good size and very clean, friendly staff.
Brillant location, nice swiming pool, 100m to beach there's games room and supermarket inside but is quite dearer than the other's.
The only thing against the rooms is the bed's there isn't double beds, they are just 2 single beds " so if you want to get cosy, you got to put them together ".
There aren't TV in the rooms, so if you want one, you got to rent it out.
If you want your room with sea view you got to pay 6 euros p/ day, and pool view 3 euros p/day.
TV cost you 3 euros p/ day.
But the place is VERY NICE, and I will go back.

| said: We had already holidayed here before and so decided it would be the best place to celebrate our Silver Wedding. We upgraded to a wonderful room, ground floor opposite the beach (no. 13!)with wonderful views and lots of space for two adults and two teens to move around.
The location takes some beating being only yards away from the beach and having a wonderful vista. It doesn't suffer from noisy hotels or bars but is within a short walking distance of both the four Pinos for food and drink (highly recommended) and Mel's (for breakfast).
The staff are always friendly and very helpful for example, on arrival my daughter accidentally smashed a large mirror and was extremely upset until the maid and caretaker arrived within an hour to clear it up and replace with a new one whilst also making her laugh.

We went self catering because we enjoy the surrounding resturants and the near by chinese.
The hotel is always kept clean. The location is excellent right on the beech and near a well stocked super market just round the corner.
The trip too the aquapark is a must. The staff are always helpful and polite.
The entertainment is fab ideal for everyone.
This is our third year of returning so that speaks for itself, but if your kids are happy than so are you.

| said: We stayed at the Orquidea Aparthotel in July/August last year and had a very nice holiday. We stayed on a half board basis and found our room to be basic & small but clean, the bathroom was equipped with a very nice (powerful) shower but the air conditioning was, it has to be said, poor. The balcony however was something else, we were on the top floor and had a large sun terrace with our own sun loungers – it was enormous.
Although we were staying H/B we still had a fridge in our room, which I always think is a nice touch. The food was quite typical for hotel food, although I have to say it was always nicely cooked (especially the breakfast).
Entertainment at the hotel was good and based around the family, looking back I don’t remember seeing any single sex parties there at all. During the day the entertainment team worked VERY hard to amuse the youngsters (of all ages) – and they did a really good job of it, during the night the entertainment was designed for the whole family. I found that people from other hotels would gather around the gates to watch what was going on at night because the standard of entertainment was so good.
The staff were really helpful and polite. While we were there one of our party fainted by the pool first thing in the morning and the receptionist had their own doctor around to the hotel in about 10 minutes of her fainting! After the incident the staff all asked how she was and said if they could do anything to just ask them.
There always has to be a down side doesn’t there, and at the Orquidea it’s the great SUNBED RACE!!! At 8.30am every morning the staff unlock the sunbeds – that’s right UNLOCK. Then there is an almighty race by guests to try to get beds for their family – it’s hideous and yes we joined in with everyone else. However it has to be said that while you are waiting for the staff to come and unlock the beds, you meet some lovely people and actually talk to more of your fellow guests than you would if you didn’t have to queue.
I would go back to the Orquidea if I was holidaying with children because it is such a family orientated hotel, I don’t think I would go there if there were no children in our party – that isn’t to say you can’t enjoy yourself there without children, it’s just better if you have kids (any age) with you due to the family orientated culture.
