| said: The apartments consisting of two blocks, one of 6 and one containing one apartment and the Cleaner lives in.
The main block of six are in line, each apartment in built in the shape of a letter E, the bottom bar is the kitchen/living room, the middle bar is the bathroom and the top bar the bedroom containing three beds.
The kitchen is fairly modern with a frig, two burner stove (one large and one small ring), a grill/oven (like a large microwave), a jug kettle and toaster. The cutlery, crockery and cookware are standard self-catering that is a mishmash of items that had been replaced from time to time. The cookware was large enough to cook for six, the saucepans were all stainless steal except the frying pan, which was aluminium and extremely well used. There were adequate food cupboards.
The small bathroom had a shower only, toilet and washbasin.
The bedroom had three beds but I’m told it’s possible to get a double bed. There were a bedside table, dressing table and a large wardrobe; each having draws for extra storage space. There were French doors for the bedroom; with another set of louvered doors that closed outside to act as heavy curtains, inside was a net curtain. The units were set up so that the layouts alternated with kitchen against bedroom.
To the rear was a four-foot veranda amply big enough for two people to sit around a table. Beyond this was a paved area approx six foot deep going to the boundary fence where there was a washing line; this area was normally used for dining and sunbathing on ample sun loungers. There were some young trees to provide some shade.
To the front was another veranda with space for two to sit round a table. Beyond this there was an area big enough for a Lounger (just) and the a ballistade before hitting the path.
Each end of the building was a small-grassed area for children to play, sunbathe, there were various shrubs and trees making it an attractive area to sit and read. Part of this area was used to park the hire cars, as there was no parking area as such.
The to end of the site was a gravel track which led to the Rhoda road turn-off (where the coach drops you with your cases) at one end and the river (100 yds) the other end. The other three sides looked over fields.
Within 200yds there were the Elani I, Elani II and a other small complexes. You are welcomed to use their facilities i.e. swimming pools and snack bar/bars. The nearest supermarkets were 200 metres along the Rhoda road towards Rhoda, 20 minutes walk past the Elani I along the road to Sidari beach and a 20 minutes walk along the Rhoda road to Sidari, at the road junction were two one a normal one and the other a discount one (it appeared to favour Italian goods)
To get to Sidari town meant either a twenty minutes walk along the beach road or 30 minutes walk along the Rhoda to Sidari road, the later wasn’t too bad as the road was surprisingly wide and there was almost a pavement on one side.
The cleaner was very pleasant always trying to please, she had reasonable English so it wasn’t too hard to make your meaning clear and she kept the apartment very clean. Despite being in the country the were no creepy crawlies the only thing we suffered with was mosquitoes but this might be the result of all the rain we had whilst there.
